Nightwish have posted pro-shot video of their classic “Ever Dream” being performed in Vancouver.

The band remark: “‘Ever Dream’ is one of our favourite tracks to perform live! Check out the second video from Ville's (Lipiäinen) vault, recorded at the Orpheum Theatre (Vancouver, Canada) in 2015. Enjoy and stay safe!”

Firewind guitarist Gus G. has checked in with a new update:

"Being on lockdown can be tough, but it has at least allowed me to work on a lot of new music. I’m officially writing a new solo album which looks like it’ll be all instrumental, but I’ve been writing music with and for other people as well. "When we recorded the bonus tracks for our 20th anniversary edition of Plays Metallica By Four Cellos, 'Battery' was kind of our revenge for the old times because in the '90s we were not able to play it - maybe not even tonight but you'll never know before you try it," says Eicca Toppinen of Apocalyptica.

Season Of Ghosts vocalist / founder Sophia and guitarist Zombie Sam returned on Saturday, November 7th for yet another round of bickering. Conversation turns serious, this time addressing the struggles of every day lockdown life during the pandemic and mental health. BLACKMORE'S NIGHT has released its new holiday song "Here We Come A-Caroling", taken from the forthcoming four-track EP of the same name. The song is a beautiful rendition of the classic Christmas carol, which is being given a new-yet-traditional sound by Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore. It's the first taste of the upcoming EP, which will arrive on December 4 via earMUSIC, the global independent rock and contemporary music label of Edel Germany GmbH.

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT was founded in 1997 by Blackmore and Night to stage their mutual love for traditional medieval and folk-rock music. Blackmore has shaped the hard rock scene for decades as one of the most influential and notorious guitarists ever, first with DEEP PURPLE and later with RAINBOW.

"Nature's Light", BLACKMORE'S NIGHT's eleventh studio album, will be released in the spring of 2021, followed by a reissue of the band's entire catalog later in the year.

Sinner frontman / founder Mat Sinner - also known as the bassist and co-founder of Primal Fear - has checked in with the following update:

"Little update from the Sinner songwriting camp. As the current global problems will take much longer as expected, we’ve decided to write a lot of more songs until we will be 200% happy with minimum 10 new tracks! Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD return with a much-overdue new live release. Titled "Lost Machine - Live", the album was recorded in Québec City during the worldwide touring cycle for the band's latest studio album, "The Wake", and will be released on November 27 worldwide via Century Media Records.

VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin comments: "And now 'Iconspiracy', the second single/video from our upcoming release 'Lost Machine – Live'. Like the video for the first single 'The Lost Machine', the footage comes from the Montréal Jazz Fest 2019 and the audio is from the Québec City Summer Fest 2019, where the entire live album was recorded.

"'Iconspiracy' has become one of our favorite songs to perform on tour since the album 'The Wake' came out in 2018.

This past summer, VOIVOD released a new three-track 12-inch vinyl and digital EP titled "The End Of Dormancy" via Century Media Records. The EP is centered around a special "Metal Section" version of the title track (off VOIVOD's latest album, "The Wake") with added trumpets, saxophone and trombones. The complementary songs on this release are exclusive live versions of "The End Of Dormancy (Metal Section)" and the group's classic "The Unknown Knows", recorded at Montreal Jazz Fest 2019.

"The End Of Dormancy" EP comes with artwork by Langevin and is available on 180-fram 12-inch vinyl.

In March 2019, VOIVOD was honored with a Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Award) in the "Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year" category. "This has been a long time coming. It feels great to be getting this out," said Puciato of the Josh Wilbur-produced (LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA) album."

Two years ago, Max confirmed to Metal Underground that KILLER BE KILLED had begun the songwriting process for its second LP. "We already demoed for it; we got 10 songs out of it," he said at the time. "[It came out] fantastic. Troy is more involved, which is what I wanted from the beginning. So that's gonna be great."

Drummer Dave Elitch (ex-THE MARS VOLTA) played on KILLER BE KILLED's first CD but was unable to continue with the band due to scheduling conflicts with his other group, ANTEMASQUE.

For their live debut at the 2015 Soundwave festival in Australia, Cavalera, Sanders, Puciato and Koller were joined by Juan Montoya (MONSTRO, ex-TORCHE), who also performed on the KILLER BE KILLED debut album.

"Killer Be Killed" sold around 5,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 58 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released in May 2014, the CD was produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur, whose credits include work with GOJIRA, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ESCAPE THE FATE, P!NK and STEVE EARLE.

Progressive music titans DREAM THEATER have will release their ninth career live album, "Distant Memories - Live In London", on November 27. Recorded at their sold-out show at the Apollo Theatre in London, the live release documents the band's popular world tour in support of their latest critically acclaimed studio album "Distance Over Time" and the 20th anniversary of their seminal concept album "Metropolis Part 2 - Scenes From A Memory".

Says guitarist John Petrucci: "Performing 'Scenes From A Memory' live in its entirety 20 years after its initial release was a ton of fun for all of us.

"'Fatal Tragedy' is one of the darker, heavier and more exciting songs on 'Scenes' and always gets an amazing response from our audience. It's an important track because, lyrically, it helps to establish the story's plot details while musically it showcases some of our favorite instrumental moments on the album."

This past September, Petrucci confirmed to Sonic Perspectives that DREAM THEATER will enter the studio this fall to begin work on the follow-up to last year's "Distance Over Time" album. Asked if he and his bandmates go into the studio with ideas already mapped out or if they try to come up with stuff on the spot, Petrucci said: "With DREAM THEATER, what we like to do most of the time is have a collective type of writing — we're all in the same room. And even if guys bring in ideas, it's more like we sort of play the idea and everybody joins in and we bounce it off of each other, and that's how the songs are written. So it's always good to have some of those seeds — some places to go. Whether you use them or not — you don't have to use them — but they're good starting points. So, yeah, we'll always come in with something. And what we'll usually do, which is really helpful too, is we'll discuss, prior to those sessions, the type of record we wanna make, which I think is really important.

"We have a long career, and we have a large catalog, and we try to look at each album as being another chapter in our story," he explained. "So when we approach a new album, we try to do something that's unique and that might just make things more interesting. Why do people want to keep listening to DREAM THEATER or wanna get the new record if there's not anything new or different or exciting about it?

"So, we'll discuss that beforehand so that everybody can kind of just be on the same wavelength [when it comes to] what we [are] trying to do here. As opposed to just walking in, like, 'All right. What do you wanna do?' 'I don't know. What do you wanna do?'"

"Distance Over Time" marked DREAM THEATER's first album for for Sony Music's progressive imprint InsideOut Music. The group spent the past 25 years recording under various labels in the Warner Music Group system, most recently Roadrunner Records, which released five albums by the band between 2007 and 2016.

Dutch death doom elite ASPHYX will release its 10th studio album, "Necroceros", on January 22, 2021 via Century Media Records. The LP was recorded at Tom Meier's Tom Meier Studio and at Paul Baayens's The Mörserstudio, and mixed and mastered by Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann at Greenman Studios. It once again features front cover artwork by Axel Hermann.

The official music video for the first single from the disc, "Botox Implosion", can be seen below. The clip was filmed by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film (LEGION OF THE DAMNED, EXODUS, KATAKLYSM).

ASPHYX frontman Martin Van Drunen commented: "We actually wanted to film this on Sunset Boulevard [in] L.A., where most of the pathetic subjects of this song have their residence, but due to the pandemic, it was best not to fly over to the USA. So since it's a fast-shredding and written-in-the-typical-humorous-death-metal-gore-tradition track, we put a few laughable elements in it. Fortunately, good old Turock in Essen was so friendly to let us film there and where we're usually not that keen on shooting videos, with this one, we had quite some fun. Still, it is a helluva brutal tune!"

Van Drunen previously stated about "Necroceros": "The first recordings for 'Necroceros' started somewhere in November 2019. Mainly just rough ideas. We hired Tom's studio for a couple of jam sessions so we could record as soon as we thought something had potential. We finished about six or seven songs, but after a few listenings we decided there had still quite some work to be done.

"After the three previous albums and this one being ASPHYX's 10th official full studio record, we were very well aware that the standard had to be incredibly high. Our advantage was that for the first time we had a steady lineup. Since 'Incoming Death', we were damned good 'worked in' together, one 'felt' what the other wanted or where he was music-wise going. With Paul having tons of riffs on the shelves, the earlier takes and the unexpected rapidly spreading COVID-19 outbreak and thus all our gigs being canceled one after the other, we booked Tom once more for a bunch of jam-recordings. Which turned out marvellously...

"It took two weekends to finally arrange all songs and tape the drum-tracks. Going completely berserk while playing and being totally satisfied with the variety, rawness, brutality and dynamics of each particular track, we were 100% certain that we were heading in the right direction.

"Long before all the above was happening, I already had introduced 'Necroceros' as a working title. It came out spontaneously, sounded powerful and since we used the word 'Death' in every release title, so did 'Necro'. The idea was a sci-fi fantasy entity on an eternal course, existing only to devour planets, turning universes into meaningless voids. And while the boys were laying guitars and bass over the drums I searched and wrote the themes and lyrics for every single track.

"To mix with Seeb was a shot in the dark, but he had told me one of his wishes was to ever be able to mix a death metal album for a band like ASPHYX. And since we wanted a fresh input, we gave him a chance by letting Seeb do a test and it fused simply excellent.

"As always, we passed the working title on to Axel Hermann to skizz about and let him throw his morbid imagination over it with detailed bits and pieces. And once more he didn't let us down with another brilliant masterpiece.

"And here we are. Something old, something new, something krushing, something sparkling, something alcoholic, something genius, but all very, very ASPHYX!"

ASPHYX's previous and much acclaimed studio album "Incoming Death" was released in September 2016 and entered the official sales charts in various European countries as follows: Germany: No. 30, Switzerland: No. 67 and Belgium (Wallonia): No. 78.

ASPHYX is Martin Van Drunen (vocals), Stefan "Husky" Hüskens (drums), Paul Baayens (guitars) and Alwin Zuur (bass).

WHITESNAKE brings together some of the most-passionate music of its multi-platinum career on "Love Songs", a new collection that contains remixed and remastered versions of the group's best love songs. It's the second release in the band's "Red, White and Blues Trilogy", a series of compilations organized by musical themes that began this summer with "The Rock Album" (white) and will conclude next year with "The Blues Album" (blue).

The new collection includes a mix of hits and deep tracks that were originally released between 1987 and 2011 on five WHITESNAKE studio albums and David Coverdale's third solo album, "Into The Light". "Love Songs" is being released today (Friday, November 6) as a CD , as a double-LP set pressed on 180-gram red vinyl, and digitally.

Like "The Rock Album", Coverdale says all the tracks on "Love Songs" have been revisited, remixed and remastered. "Some have been musically embellished where my co-producer Michael McIntyre, my new mixer Christopher Collier and I felt it appropriate or necessary to bring out the best in these songs," he explains.

Coverdale continues: "As most of you know, pretty much all the songs I write are love songs in some way, shape or form. These are some of my favorites. Not all are ballads. Some are out and out rockers with powerful romantic themes…and of course…include heavy breathing in all of them!!"

In addition to the album tracks "Don't You Cry" and "Midnight Blue", the set also introduces three previously unreleased outtakes from the "Into The Light" album sessions: "With All Of My Heart", "Yours For The Asking" and "Let's Talk It Over". The albums "Restless Heart" (1997), "Good To Be Bad" (2008) and "Forevermore" (2011) are also represented on the compilation with multiple tracks ("Too Many Tears", "Summer Rain" and "Easier Said Than Done").

In the coming months, some of the band's most adored MTV-era hit videos will be released on WHITESNAKE's YouTube channel in brand new HD, including a fan-requested promotional video for the song "Easier Said Than Done" from the "Forevermore" album.

SEETHER has released a full-band acoustic version of "Dangerous", the lead single off the band's latest album, "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum" ("If You Want Peace, Prepare For War"). The performance clip was filmed while the four members of the group were in quarantine and can be seen below.

The "Live Around The World" album compiles concert highlights from the world over, personally selected by Roger Taylor, Brian May and Adam Lambert from over 200 shows they have performed together, many among them becoming available for the very first time.

The show-stopping "Live Around The World" performance of "Somebody To Love" was captured at the Isle Of Wight festival in 2016 — QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT's first U.K. festival together and a milestone show which Lambert recalls was "a really special night."

Written by Freddie Mercury, "Somebody To Love" was a highlight of QUEEN's 1976 album "A Day At The Races" and a huge hit in its own right, reaching No. 2 in the U.K. and a Top 20 place in the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Mercury freely acknowledged that the song's composition was influenced by the legendary soul star Aretha Franklin and — as the "Live Around The World" performance confirms — Lambert's soulful, gospel-tinged interpretation is well suited to this much-loved, soul-searching song with its complex vocal harmonies.

"Adam has the ability to sing anything and everything we throw at him," Taylor said of Lambert's vocal abilities. "There's nothing he can't handle. Our songs are big and theatrical and Adam fits that easily. I think he's the best singer around. His range is staggering."

"Some of QUEEN's songs are just so vocally athletic and physically demanding," Lambert said. "For example, 'The Show Must Go On' is certainly demanding, 'Who Wants To Live Forever' goes from zero to 99. 'Somebody To Love' is really intense and big.

"Begin Again", the new music video from FATES WARNING, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Long Day Good Night", which is being released today (Friday, November 6) via Metal Blade Records.

FATES WARNING has been a formidable presence in progressive metal for more than 35 years, helping to shape and drive the genre without ever compromising its integrity or losing relevance. They return in 2020 with "Long Day Good Night", the most epic and longest album of its storied career, mixed by Joe Barresi.

"The styles of music we've written distinguish this record from the rest of our catalogue," states vocalist Ray Alder. "There are some songs with electronics and some with a nice ethereal feel, as well as some pretty straightforward grooves, at least for us. And there are also some pretty heavy songs. We tried to give the listener a host of different things to listen to, as opposed to an album where every song sounds the same." As such, the album is something of a rollercoaster ride, moving through various moods and making for perhaps their most vital release to date.

Guitarist Jim Matheos began writing the album in mid-2019, working closely with Alder for about a year, honing the songs, completing 13 for their 13th full-length — which, uncoincidentally, has a total running time of 72:22. Despite their long history of making records, Alder makes it clear that the songs take a lot of work to realize.

"Like all albums, nothing comes easy," he says. "It's quite a process to go from the idea to the actual finished song. Sometimes you think you're done with it, then you hear something else and you have to try that. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but you at least have to try it just so you know that in the end you've done everything possible to make it as good as it can be. Jim and I spent practically every day for the last year writing this album. I am very happy with the outcome, and with the blend of styles. I guess I could say that this album represents all of the years that we have been together."

The record also features guest appearances from touring guitarist Mike Abdow, who contributed some solos, plus PORCUPINE TREE/THE PINEAPPLE THIEF drummer Gavin Harrison, who plays on "When Snow Falls". "Under The Sun" sees the band incorporating a full string section for the first time.

Canadian indie pop rock band Walk Off The Earth, featuring former The Creepshow vocalist Sarah Blackwood, performed at the iconic Opera House in Sydney, Australia earlier this year. During the stop they covered the AC/DC classic "Thunderstruck" and shot an official performance video, which can be viewed below.
