MØL Unleash New Single / Video "Serf"On November 5th, blackgaze masters MØL return with their second studio album, Diorama, the group’s first for their new label Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded and mixed by Tue Madsen (Gojira, Meshuggah, Heaven Shall Burn) and graced by a cover artwork designed by Jon Gotlev, Diorama sees the band further developing its captivating, aggressive sound. With swirling guitars and hissing vocals blended into a dreamy ambience of shoegaze, the highflyers from Aarhus, Denmark, will deliver a crushing yet otherworldly follow-up to their debut album, Jord, from 2018.
They have released an official video for the new single, "Serf". Check it out below.

Nicolai Busse Bladt: "Writing our debut, Jord, seemed like the culmination of our first two EPs. We had achieved a sound and an approach to creating music that is distinctly ours. Diorama is both refinement and exploration. I wanted to refine our sound, melodies, and compositions, but also push the boundaries of our music and explore new paths and things we haven’t done before. Our approach to music has never been restricted by any dogmas and we’re stalwart believers in eclecticism."
Further info about the eight new tracks of the album will follow soon and the pre-order for Diorama will start shortly.
Inspired by bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Drop Nineteens, Lantlôs and Alcest, MØL released their self-titled debut EP back in 2014. A year later they perfected their sound with their second EP "II", produced by Jacob Bredahl and released in 2015. Both EPs were well received and drove them on to do some emphatic live shows which were praised by press. In 2018, MØL made an international breakthrough signing with Holy Roar Records (UK) who released their debut album 'Jord' to critical acclaim. The record was recorded at Grapehouse Studios and mixed and mastered by Chris Kreutzfeldt. The album was also released as an instrumental version and in 2019, the band re-released their two first EPs, remastered for CD and vinyl.

The LP version of the album will also have a different running order for the tracklisting from the other versions. See below for tracklistings by format.
Preceded by the single "Saturday Night (Hallelujah)", a post-Covid party anthem, Wired sees the Swedish quartet delivering some of the best songs of their career. It’s a much needed uplifting monster of an album in the aftermath of the pandemic age.
"All over the world, people have coped with this mess in their own way. Our way was focusing on the good times ahead, which we believe comes through in the songs we wrote. Good thing we didn't know how long it was gonna take when we started, or we would have ended up writing a rock opera. That's probably best left to others...," says the band of the album.
Over the last few years, Eclipse have performed to audiences around the globe, including the US, Japan, Australia and Europe and have opened for giants like Aerosmith and the Scorpions. Their albums have amassed millions of streams and charted in several European countries. With the momentum of their last studio album Paradigm propelling them, Wired promises to push them even further up the rock 'n roll mountain.
"Ironically enough, after Paradigm we said that we were gonna try to release music more frequently. But, here we are pretty much two years later. Again. Although this time through no fault of our own. But we wrote songs that we wanted to play live and we can't wait to finally get back at it. Buckle up people, it's party time!" concludes the band.

Listen To JASON NEWSTED's Original Instrumental Which Formed The Basis Of METALLICA's Song 'My Friend Of Misery'METALLICA has released a demo version of Jason Newsted's original bass instrumental containing ideas which were later incorporated into the song "My Friend Of Misery" from the band's self-titled 1991 album, better known as "The Black Album." "My Friend of Misery (From Jason's Riff Tapes)" is taken from the "Riffs & Demos" 2CD included in the remastered deluxe box set of "Metallica", due on September 10 via the band's own Blackened Recordings.
"Metallica" producer Bob Rock told Music Radar about the recording of "My Friend Of Misery" in a 2011 interview: "The song is all about a mood, which is very cinematic in feel. METALLICA know how to play to their strengths, dishing out raw power, but on this song we went for more of an atmosphere. It's ominous, and it works. It started out with [Jason's] intro, so a big part of working on this track was spent developing a great riff into a song that would take flight and really go places. Which it does — it builds and builds quite nicely."
"My Friend Of Misery" is the sole track on "Metallica" on which Newsted gets a co-writing credit. During his time with the band, he was also credited on two other METALLICA songs: "Blackened" and "Where The Wild Things Are".
Newsted told Billboard magazine he was thrilled to finaly get a chance to make a substantial contribution to METALLICA's songwriting process. "That was a moment where those guys kind of bowed and said, 'Here you go, man, put your song on there,' being the guy who came up with that," he said. "As opposed to being part of the team, I got to be myself for a minute there, which was a real accomplishment."
The 58-year-old musician left METALLICA in 2001 after a 15-year run with the group. His exit was documented in the band's 2004 documentary, "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster", which followed the members of the group through the three most turbulent years of their long career, during which they battled through addiction, lineup changes, fan backlash, personal turmoil and the near-disintegration of the group while making their "St. Anger" album.
Newsted was METALLICA's third bassist, following Ron McGovney and the late Cliff Burton. Robert Trujillo took over in 2003 after Newsted's exit.

CONTRITION - Chicago Metal Act Uniting Members Of NOVEMBERS DOOM, YAKUZA, CHROME WAVES To Release Broken Mortal Coil DebutDisorder Recordings announces the late October release of Broken Mortal Coil, the debut album from new Chicago-based outfit Contrition. The group unites current/former members of Nachtmystium, Wolvhammer, Usurper, Cobalt, Yakuza, Novembers Doom, Chrome Waves, Bones, and more, and the album features guests from The Black Dahlia Murder, Impaled, Graveripper, and Gridfailure.
Contrition’s sound picks up where prior collective Doomsday left off, rebuilding the lineup with a new moniker and immense intensity. The band unites Jerome Marshall (Cobalt, Yakuza) on vocals, Garry Naples (Novembers Doom, Without Waves) on drums, Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves, Deeper Graves, ex-Wolvhammer) on guitars and synth, and Jon Woodring (Bones, ex-Usurper) on bass. The group’s Broken Mortal Coil debut is a gnarled, gritty affair, recorded during the 2020 lockdowns. The album delivers a deluge of stomping, groove-forged, low-end savagery, with the influence of early 1990s death metal, thick modern tones, and a hostile, streetwise vibe.
Broken Mortal Coil was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jeff Wilson at Disorder Recordings, and completed with cover art by Ethan McCarthy (Primitive Man) and design by Wilson. Further expanding the record’s attack, Contrition invited several guests to contribute to the record, with additional vocals on “For Misery” by Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder), additional guitars on “Diluted” by Leon del Muerte (Impaled, ex-Exhumed), additional synth and vocals on “Desolation Star” by David Brenner (Gridfailure), and additional guitars on “Nihilistic Right” by Corey Parks (Graveripper). The album closes with a twisted rendition of Nirvana’s “Tourette’s”.

NASHVILLE PUSSY - New Live Album, Eaten Alive, Due In NovemberCircle November 5th on your calendar as that's the date that Nashville Pussy will release their new live album, Eaten Alive, via Slinging Pig Records / MVD Entertainment Group.
Coming hot off of their seventh studio album, Pleased To Eat You, Nashville Pussy returns with Eaten Alive, a ferocious hellride of a live album that is proof positive that the band is one of the best live acts ever. Recorded in the UK, this is Nashville Pussy's Live At Leeds and one of most unrelenting concert albums since Motörhead's No Sleep Til Hammersmith.
Slated for release to coincide with their October / November tour with The Toadies and Reverend Horton Heat, Eaten Alive will be unleashed to the world on Slinging Pig Records, the band's very own record label. "This is the album that our fans have drunkenly demanded for years," says singer / guitarist Blaine Cartwright. "'Make an album that sounds like you guys do live!' I've heard that phrase slurred in my face in accents from all over the world," jokes Blaine. "So here it is you drunken bastards!"

The mesmerizing leads of legendary guitarist Ruyter Suys leap off the grooves and grab the listener by the throat. Ruyter has been hailed with accolades since the band's inception including being named "one of the top female performers of all time" by That Metal Show. And that's just one example. Combine that with the irresistible thunderous rhythm section of bassist Bonnie Buitrago and hard hitting drummer Ben Thomas, and it makes for one of the most satisfying rock experiences ever recorded.
Eaten Alive not only serves as a perfect souvenir for hundreds of thousands of lucky rock n' rollers that have seen Nashville Pussy in the 40 plus countries over past 25 years, it's also an excellent starting point for all those unfortunately yet to have been exposed to the fiery baptism of hard rock that the band delivers on a nightly basis.
Nashville Pussy is ravenously looking forward to their upcoming (twice postponed) tour of Europe. It all starts with Sweden Rock with Blue Öyster Cult, and ends at Barcelona Rocks with Judas Priest two months later. In between, the band will be eating fans alive all across Europe.
The band is unstoppable. This album is proof. Order your copy on CD now at this location. Double-gatefold vinyl coming soon.

Dream Theater - comprised of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini - was in the middle of a sold-out world tour in support of their last release Distance Over Time and the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory when a Global Pandemic brought the world to a stop. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, they’d just finished construction on DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters) - a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage, and creative hive. With LaBrie in Canada, he initially wrote with the band via ZOOM on a monitor in DTHQ. In March 2021, he flew down to New York, quarantined, and recorded his vocals face-to-face with Petrucci. The album ultimately threaded together lean and uncompromising hooks with tried-and-true technical proficiency.
“We just love to play our instruments,” observes Petrucci. “That never goes away. I love to be creative, write, and exercise that part of my mind. We’ve been able to do this for a long time, and we don’t take it for granted. Whenever we get together, we know we can’t disappoint ourselves or our fans, so we manage to try even harder.”
“We approach every album like it’s our first,” adds LaBrie. “It’s been such a great ride, but we’re not going to stop.”

SPIRIT ADRIFT Release "Invisible Enemy" Lyric VideoSpirit Adrift guitarist/vocalist Nate Garrett comments, "On March 1, 2020, I relocated to the woods outside of Austin, Texas. Two weeks later, everything was locked down. I turned to the thing that has helped me navigate difficult situations for most of my life: writing music. I wrote and demoed a ton of songs over the course of the pandemic. The songs on this E.P. are the best of the bunch. Marcus, Preston, and I recorded these in March of 2021 at Homewrecker Recording Studio with Ryan Bram at the helm. Zeuss handled mixing and mastering, after lengthy discussions about Martin Birch, Tom Allom, Crowbar, and how important it is to carry forth the essence and spirit of heavy metal. Special thanks to our friend Cody Davis for the brilliant title." He continues, "These songs, and this band, represent persevering through difficult times, staying true to your innermost self, and celebrating the life-affirming power of metal."
Since their inception, Spirit Adrift is much more than an obsession for Garrett. It’s become a mission unto itself — a quest to re-cast the power and potential of melodic metal, doom and hard rock like the masters before him. Garrett's songwriting style teeters between vintage and modern, combining intelligent lyrics that provoke spiritual and philosophical thought with bold hooks and gilded riffs. With four albums behind Garrett and drummer Marcus Bryant, including 2020’s year-end chart-topper Enlightened In Eternity, Spirit Adrift have shown the world just what heavy metal can be.
On Forge Your Future, Garrett and Bryant are joined by Preston Bryant on synthesizers. The group will be joined by Sonny DeCarlo on bass in live settings moving forward. With Ryan Bram engineering and the legendary producer Zeuss on mixing/mastering, Spirit Adrift showcase their tightest songwriting yet. The three luminous new tracks on Forge Your Future cement the band into the upper echelon of heavy music.

KORY CLARKE Aims To Release New WARRIOR SOUL Album In September / October - "I'm Really Excited About It!"; New 80’s Glam Metalcast StreamingWarrior Soul singer, Kory Clarke, is featured in the latest episode of the 80’s Glam Metalcast. Listen below.
On the new Warrior Soul album: "For the new record, I want the recording completed in August, so I can have it out to hit the top 10 lists for the year! I’m really excited about it. It’s stuff I’ve been kicking around for 18 - 20 months after I did some tracking in Chicago in late 2019. It’s following up our cover album from last year. I don’t know how to describe it. The opening track is pretty tripped out. It’s called 'We’re Alive'. I don’t know how “punky” it is. There’s a good smattering of styles and genres on there to be sure. To say it’s anything but a Warrior Soul album would be wrong. We’re hoping to have it out by the end of September or the first week of October."
On their covers album, Cocaine And Other Good Stuff: "These are my favorite songs. These are songs l like to listen to and turn the radio up for. On KISS being on there - I mean Gene’s a dickwad... but we were into KISS in Detroit in 73-75. Once the KISS Army started, that when I had to blink and say I’m not buying a KISS sleeping bag! I’m not part of your KISS Army... kiss my ass! After that you had various different dudes in the band like “Wolf guy” and “Aardvark guy”. Of course I like KISS, especially the Ace Frehley power stuff. Being that it was important election year, I thought 'Elected' by Alice Cooper would be good. Warrior Soul has always been a political band that stood up against fascism. We did 'Living After Midnight' by Judas Priest. On that song, you have to nail the “Loaded” part. You gotta sound kinda drunk and kinda tired at the same time. It’s not that hard for me to do! When you do a cover, it’s important that it’s “you” singing someone else’s song, not you trying to imitate someone. That’s the approach that I took on this album. That’s how it should be, because my fans want to hear me."

DROTT Featuring ENSLAVED, ULVER Members Release "Arch Of Gloom" Music VideoDrott have released their hypnotic new single and video, “Arch Of Gloom”. The song can now be streamed/downloaded on all platforms here, and the video, directed and edited by Jens Kristian Rimau, can be viewed below.
The band comments on “Arch Of Gloom”: “At the end of a dark and bouncy road lies the 'Arch Of Gloom'. Through persistent bass and drums, Arch of Gloom is driven to the point of desperate collapse by a haunting guitar solo. Mesmerizing in its mystical attraction, it hypnotizes desperate souls into a surrealistic dance before they are lured down the abyss to face the verdict of Orcus.”

Inspired by forces of nature, superstition and spirituality the trio explores light within darkness through their music.
The group, recently established (2020), released their self-titled EP in March 2021 and received great reviews. It established the Drott’s instrumental progressive rock sound as a breath of fresh air in the genre. Their first full-length, Orcus, takes Drott in a new creative and artistic direction. CARCASS Discuss "Dance Of IXTAB" Single In New Album Trailer; VideoEnglish extreme metal legends, Carcass, have released a new trailer for their upcoming seventh studio album, Torn Arteries, out September 17 via Nuclear Blast Records. The new clip focuses on the album's second single, "Dance Of IXTAB (Psychopomp & Circumstances March No. 1 In B)". Watch below:
Ferocious and uncompromising in their execution, Carcass’s ability to intricately dissect the innards of death metal, and display them for us to sonically understand has been their point of excellence for over three decades. In 2019 the band released their first single in over 5 years “Under The Scalpel Blade,” followed by a 4-song EP entitled Despicable (October 2020), setting a potent precedent for the full length album coming in September: Torn Arteries. With the album title itself referencing an old demo created by original drummer Ken Owen back in the 80’s, Torn Arteries sits as a bookend on the modern side of the Carcass discography, connecting directly back to where everything began over 30 years ago.

“I think as our 7th album, it does stand out from the others both sonically and stylistically,” says Jeff Walker. “You can definitely tell that it’s Carcass; when you drop that needle on the vinyl, when you hear that guitar tone, you can tell it’s Bill Steer, but each album is always a product of its time.”
With Torn Arteries, each track stands unique from the rest in its approach to guitar, bass, vocals and drumming, along with all the finer details. Filthy and dominating guitar work creates thick layers of tone and melody, piling on top of each other like the weight of dead flesh in tracks like “Kelly’s Meat Emporium.”
“The working title for Kelly’s was originally ‘Stock Carcass,’” laughs Walker. “We knew that one was a real meat and potatoes track for the album.” Meanwhile the elevated speed and catchy beat in "Dance Of Ixtab" tell a robust and airier story, one that is certain to get a reaction from live crowds. “We built this song around the beat. We had an approach to each song that was a definite idea. It’s all about ‘what haven’t we done before?’”
Recording and production for Torn Arteries wasn’t as simple as sitting down for a few weeks and knocking it all out, but rather spread out over the course of approximately 1 year bouncing back and forth between England and Sweden. Initially, drummer Daniel Wilding did session work in Sweden at Studio Gröndahl with David Castillo while guitars were recorded at The Stationhouse with James Atkinson in Leeds, England. Eventually needing some form of residential location to finalize vocals, bass, and other guitarwork, the band headed back to studio Gröndahl in Sweden to continue work in a very relaxed atmosphere with Castillo. “There was no real big plan to do it this way, the process just organically grew on its own,” says Walker.
Most will find that the only real struggle when indulging in Torn Arteries is fighting the desire to start it over the second it finishes. It covers substantial new ground for a band with such a reputation, while still retaining that addictive, time honored Carcass sound that has come to represent the face of true death metal.
Torn Arteries is available for pre-order in a variety of bundles and formats, including CD, Box Set and limited edition vinyl pressings. Pre-order here.

VELVET CHAINS To Release Icarus Album In September; "Tattooed" Video And "Strangelove" Single StreamingFrom Las Vegas to the world. Velvet Chains was formed in the well-known American city in 2018 by experienced musicians from the American circuit. The musical proposal bets on contagious rock sounds, a solid rhythmic section, and catchy guitar and voice melodies, the kind that stick in your head.
The music of the quartet is a mixture of musical styles and personalities through the cultural exchange: both Jerry Quinlan (voice and guitar) and Noelle Schertzer (drums) are American, Laurent Cassiano (guitar) is Brazilian and bassist Nils Goldschmidt, leader of the project, is Chilean.
Guided by what was best done in the grunge and hard rock of the 90s and 00s, the music of Velvet Chains has as reference groups such as Guns N' Roses, Alice In Chains, and Pearl Jam, among many others from different styles, whose elements are condensed to create a unique and characteristic sound. The mix of styles and nationalities have always had an excellent record in the history of global music; as in The Strokes, Ill Niño, or even Slayer, who, including two Latinos in their initial line-up, managed to leave a mark in metal history.

All the artistic wealth of this mix of origins and influences will be condensed and presented to the public on September 24, when the group releases their debut album, Icarus.
To celebrate this important milestone in her career, Velvet Chains will feature guest artist contributions to some of her songs. For example, guitarist Richard Fortus (Guns N 'Roses) recorded the guitars on the single "Tattooed". Listen to it on all digital platforms here, and watch the music video below.
The lyrical content along with the musical quality is another important factor for Velvet Chains: "Our goal was to write songs with important lyrics while covering different genres within Rock from the 90s to the 00s. You will find a bit of heavy rock, a bit of grunge, a bit of alternative rock, and much more on this album”, explains Nils, founder of the band.
The first single "Tattooed" was released on July 30. “He talks about how to deal with extremes in relationships and mask the pain that comes from that,” they explain. The song is accompanied by an impressive music video, produced and directed by renowned music video director Dean Karr (Marylin Manson, Iron Maiden, Velvet Revolver, etc.), who conceived the entire narrative of the video, which brings together very intense scenes, which are mixed with the impressive sound of Velvet Chains.
The second single released today on all digital platforms is called “Strangelove”, written from a collaboration between Nils and Drew: “It's about a unique attraction/love that would never work because it borders on obsession. It will probably have a very positive radio reception, as it has a super catchy beat, and it has even become one of our favorite songs to play live,” concludes Nils. Listen here and below.
Velvet Chains' debut album Icarus was co-written with multiplatinum songwriter Drew Lawrence. Recordings took place in early 2021 at different studios: drums were recorded at The Hideout and bass was recorded at The Tone Factory, both in Las Vegas, while guitars and vocals were recorded at The Killroom in Seattle. Sound engineering work was carried out by Greg Williamson, while Tristan Hardin did the mixing and mastering.

IRON MAIDEN Release New Senjutsu Video Trailer "Adrian's Tracks"Iron Maiden’s long-awaited, 17th studio album, Senjutsu, is out globally on September 3 via BMG. The band has released this new video trailer:
For Senjutsu - loosely translated as ‘tactics & strategy,’ the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Steve Harris. With a running time of a little under 82 minutes, Senjutsu, like their previous record The Book Of Souls, will be a double CD/Triple vinyl album.

Steve says: “We chose to record at Guillaume Tell Studio in France again as the place has such a relaxed vibe. The setup there is perfect for our needs; the building used to be a cinema and has a really high ceiling so there’s a great acoustic sound. We recorded this album in the same way we did The Book Of Souls in that we’d write a song, rehearse it and then put it down together straight away while it was all fresh in our minds. There’s some very complex songs on this album which took a lot of hard work to get them exactly as we wanted them to sound, so the process was at times very challenging, but Kevin is great at capturing the essence of the band and I think it was worth the effort! I’m very proud of the result and can’t wait for fans to hear it.”
Bruce Dickinson continues: “We’re all really excited about this album. We recorded it back in early 2019 during a break in the Legacy tour so we could maximize our touring yet still have a long set up period before release to prepare great album art and something special as a video. Of course the pandemic delayed things more - so much for the best laid plans – or should that be ‘strategies’!? The songs are very varied, and some of them are quite long. There’s also one or two songs which sound pretty different to our usual style, and I think Maiden fans will be surprised - in a good way, I hope!"
Senjutsu will be released on the following formats and is available to pre-order/pre-save at IronMaiden.com.
- Standard 2CD Digipak
- Deluxe 2CD Book Format
- Deluxe heavyweight 180G Triple Black Vinyl

SEPULTURA's DERRICK GREEN Says Showing Proof Of Vaccination Or Negative Test To Attend Concerts 'Shouldn't Be A Problem'During an appearance on the latest episode of "The MetalSucks Podcast", SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green was asked how he feels about the increasing number of venues and concert promoters who are requiring proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a current negative test to attend shows. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I think it's really important that each person takes responsibility of being as safe as possible. So if you're going to a show, then it shouldn't be a problem to take a test. And if you have a card, then just show your card. I think in these times, it's different from any other times, so you have to take precautions because you don't wanna get other people sick. And you have to be selfless. A lot of times people are just thinking of themselves — unfortunately, only themselves — and they feel that they need to go out and do what they need to do regardless of the consequences that may cause other people. And that's a horrible attitude, I've gotta say. It's really frustrating dealing with people that have this type of 'me, me, me, me' attitude, and it's really slowed a lot of things down. So I think if people are able to just take precaution, have some restraint and just be safe, including the bands, then we can get through this a little bit faster and we can get back to enjoying some type of normalcy in our lives. I don't even know if 'normalcy' is a word [laughs] — or normality in our lives."
A number of hard rock and heavy metal artists have canceled shows or whole tours as the concert industry is rethinking its approach to live shows while the delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading nationwide.
Earlier in the month, Live Nation Entertainment, one of the country's largest concert and ticketing companies, announced that it will require all artists and concertgoers to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test starting in early October.
Live Nation's announcement came one day after AEG Presents said that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theaters and festivals. The decision was made on the heels of the dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases as the delta variant spreads throughout the United States.
While vaccines are exceptionally effective in preventing death and severe illness from the coronavirus and its known variants, some are far from foolproof in preventing infection altogether.
Most of the people with so-called "breakthrough" infections are asymptomatic.
According to Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), large-scale clinical studies found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting COVID-19. Research also provides growing evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) offer similar protection in real-world conditions. While these vaccines are effective, no vaccine prevents illness 100% of the time. For any vaccine, there are breakthrough cases.
A recent study found that people who contract the delta variant of COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated carry a similar amount of the coronavirus as those who catch the disease and have not been inoculated. But the researchers stressed that vaccination still offers good protection against catching the disease in the first place, and protects against getting seriously ill with it.
