KAMELOT Unveils 'Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)' Video From 'I Am The Empire - Live From The 013'

KAMELOT Unveils 'Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)' Video From 'I Am The Empire - Live From The 013'

Symphonic metal masters KAMELOT return with their newest offering, "I Am The Empire - Live From The 013", to be released on August 14 via Napalm Records.

The majestic live album, DVD and Blu-ray, recorded at the legendary 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands, consists of 21 songs that will tug on your heartstrings, make you want to bang your head and give you a taste of KAMELOT's grandness live on stage with more than 100 minutes of live music and multiple exclusive extras, including backstage interviews of all guests, bandmembers and fans.

Today, the band has released the powerful live video of the show's opening song, "Phantom Divine (Shadow Empire)". Accompanied by a pyro show, the intro kicks in and the listener can feel the heat in the completely sold-out 013, full of suspense. The stunning live performance features guest vocals by the furious Lauren Hart (ONCE HUMAN) who alternates between beautifully clean vocals and frightening growls.

KAMELOT guitarist/founder Thomas Youngblood on "Phantom Divine": "We are pleased to present 'Phantom Divine' as the second video from our upcoming DVD/Blu-ray. This song is from our most recent studio release 'The Shadow Theory' and features Lauren Hart. During the entire 'Shadow' tour, this was the night opener and always set the tone for the rest of the evening. Fans tell me this song encompasses a ton of what they feel is part of the KAMELOT trademark. We hope you all share in our joy for this release!"

September 14, 2018 marked one of the highlights of KAMELOT's very successful career. The band, known for its high-class collaborations, invited the creme de la creme of the symphonic metal scene to celebrate that evening in Tilburg. Featured guest musicians like Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), Charlotte Wessels (DELAIN) and Lauren Hart — just to name a few — made this evening in Tilburg an unforgettable night to remember for every fan and musician in attendance.

This concert setlist features KAMELOT in prime shape — with a hand-picked mixture of KAMELOT classics and live premieres, rounded off by stunning production and mixed and mastered by Sascha Paeth (AVANTASIA, EPICA).

Youngblood comments: "We are pleased beyond words to present our new live album/DVD/Blu-ray 'I Am The Empire - Live From The 013'. After multiple sold-out events in The Netherlands, it was only fitting to film this event at Tilburg's famed 013 venue. The icing on the cake was having all the special guests attend this historic night. It was truly divine."

White-Gluz says: "It was a magical evening that night. It was so much fun to play such a nice long set with a packed house of fans who knew every word to every song alongside my KAM fam and girlfriends!"

Ryd comments: "It was an historical moment for me to take part in this KAMELOT live DVD recording. Let's not forget that it was with KAMELOT I began my touring life, and we toured a lot. I am so happy to finally be able to perpetuate the era of hard work and friendship with such great quality. A huge thanks to the entire KAMELOT family for embracing my presence on this very special evening."

Wessels adds: "It was an absolute delight performing 'Under Grey Skies' with KAMELOT live in 013 during their special night. It felt like a big family gathering. Thank you for including me. I am sure that this DVD will be a wonderful memento for Kamfans worldwide!"

BLACK STONE CHERRY And MONSTER TRUCK Join Forces on New Single 'Love Become Law'

BLACK STONE CHERRY And MONSTER TRUCK Join Forces on New Single 'Love Become Law'

Back in mid-May, as the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading throughout the world and as many of us were deep in lockdown, Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY and Canadian hard-rocking juggernauts MONSTER TRUCK decided that distance wasn't going to stop them from creating something beautiful for a good cause.

Following BLACK STONE CHERRY's YouTube series the "Cherry Chats", the two bands joined forces over a series of live Zoom video calls to write a song from scratch, allowing fans unprecedented access to watch as the creativity unfolded from the safety of their homes. Thus, THE CHERRY TRUCK BAND was born, and out of those sessions came a special charity single "Love Become Law".

All proceeds from this single will be split between two charities, chosen by the bands themselves — BLACK STONE CHERRY will be donating its proceeds to The Boys And Girls Club Of America and MONSTER TRUCK to Black Lives Matter. You can purchase the song here.

Talking about how the song came together, BLACK STONE CHERRY said: "The idea of THE CHERRY TRUCK BAND can honestly be credited to the pandemic that our world is in. We saw tour after tour being cancelled and so many bands were turning to live streaming performances online. We put our heads together with our great friends in MONSTER TRUCK and decided to do something we hadn't seen any other bands do to help pass the time while still entertaining fans. That idea was to write a song, LIVE to the world and divide it up into segments to show our fans the process of writing and creating. We had never done this with another full band before, let alone while we're live streaming. It was incredibly exciting and fun and we are so proud of the song and more importantly, its meaning! This song is about uniting, being and living as one, and most importantly, loving each and every person that walks this planet. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating it for you!"

MONSTER TRUCK's frontman/bassist Jon "Marv" Harvey added: "THE CHERRY TRUCK BAND started with a bunch of friends getting together over long distances to create something memorable, meaningful and joyous. Over the five weekly episodes, our entire world basically turned upside down. The people were rising up. The people were tired of being oppressed. The people were tired of suffering for doing nothing wrong. The people were ready to force change. This is our anthem in solidarity to those fighting for basic rights. This is our voices saying, 'we love you, we hear you, we respect and love you.' Black lives matter. Without the impact of black culture, there would be no modern music, period. Respect, protect and celebrate diversity. Our world depends on it."

MONSTER TRUCK will be donating to Black Lives Matter Foundation, Inc., a global organization in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for black imagination and innovation, and centering black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives.

Talking about donating to The Boys And Girls Club Of America, BLACK STONE CHERRY explained: "The Boys And Girls Club is an organization we feel very strongly about because they are ensuring young people that success is within reach no matter who they are, where they come from, race, etc. We love that The Boys And Girls Club is helping teach responsibility, education, and instilling a hard work ethic at a young age so that these kids can grow up and be proud of themselves and what they have accomplished! We have donated to our community club for several years and we are honored to help out by donating to The Boys And Girls Club Of America where we know in our hearts they are helping to make a difference in our young generation."

THE MUGSHOTS Streaming New Track Featuring VENOM INC.’s MANTAS

THE MUGSHOTS Streaming New Track Featuring VENOM INC.’s MANTAS

Still enjoying the success of a funding campaign for a local hospital thanks to the single entitled “Quarantine Chant” featuring special guest Baz Warne from The Stranglers, The Mugshots have announced the release of a second, new song recorded during the lockdown.

The song is “Children Of The Night”, originally the opening track of 2007’s Weird Theater, The Mugshots' second album which was subsequently re-released in 2009. To celebrate, the band called original guitarist Henry Lee back to play along with the addition of the amazing lead guitar by legendary Jeff “Mantas” Dunn, Venom's founding member who is now playing with Venom Inc and M-Pire of Evil.

Mantas stated: “‘Children Of The Night’ sounds great, very reminiscent of the Damned to my ears. I really like it and it is so great for me to step outside of Metal and present a different side to my playing”.

The Mugshots had already worked with Venom Inc.’s Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan. He performed with them in 2016 on the album Something Weird on the apocalyptic song Dusk Patrol.

The first of two volumes, "Project Regeneration Vol. 1" features 12 brand new tracks, containing many of the final vocal performances and musical compositions of late STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static, along with the original "Wisconsin Death Trip" lineup of bassist Tony Campos, drummer Ken Jay, and guitarist Koichi Fukuda. Both volumes are being worked on by longtime STATIC-X producer Ulrich Wild.

In total, "Project Regeneration" volumes one and two will consist of more than 20 brand new or previously unreleased STATIC-X songs and will feature all of the remaining works left behind by Wayne Static, along with the original "Wisconsin Death Trip" band lineup. The individual albums are expected to contain creative packaging elements that will allow fans to marry the two volumes together.

Last year, STATIC-X wrapped up a world tour comprised of nearly 100 mostly sold-out dates in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its platinum-selling debut album "Wisconsin Death Trip". The shows also served as a traveling memorial for Wayne, who passed away more than five years ago.

While the identity of STATIC-X's touring singer Xer0 has not been officially revealed, strong rumors suggest that DOPE frontman Edsel Dope is the one performing with Jay, Fukuda and Campos and appearing in all of STATIC-X's promotional videos.

Static died after mixing Xanax and other powerful prescription drugs with alcohol, according to the coroner's report. The 48-year-old Static, whose real name was Wayne Richard Wells, was found dead in his Landers, California home on November 1, 2014.

Static founded STATIC-X in 1994 and achieved commercial success with "Wisconsin Death Trip", which included the rock radio hit "Push It".

The group issued five more studio albums before disbanding permanently in June 2013. Static had been pursuing a solo career at the time of his death.

WARKINGS Release New Battle Hymn And Video “Maximus”

WARKINGS Release New Battle Hymn And Video “Maximus”

Warkings Warriors... prepare yourself for the next true heavy metal attack. The mighty Tribune raises his war chants to tell the story of the legendary Roman general and liberator of all Gladiators, “Maximus”.

Shouting fanfares, driving drums and galloping riffs pave the golden way for the greatest freedom fighter of the Roman Empire, who gave his life for his allies and the suppressed people of ancient Rome. The Warkings take you back to the time when the mythical arenas were filled with roaring crowds, deciding on death or glory and brave, lost souls are fighting for one moment of honor. At the latest, when the catchy chorus of this warrior hymn drops in, you can see yourself standing right in the Colosseum, shouting for “Maximus” and joining his fight against Emperor Marcus Aurelius and his own son Commodus.

The Tribune on “Maximus”: “The burning sand, the crowd stomping their feet on the ground, you hear them chanting you name. The calm before the deadly strike. This is Maximus. Morituri te salutant.”

Let the battle begin and join the Warkings in their new video for “Maximus”:

A new crusade arises with the mighty Warkings and their new album Revenge, to be released via Napalm Records on July 31.The band enters the battleground and faces ghoulish demons with the formidable weapon made of pure heavy metal. The four ancient kings, a roman Tribune, a wild Viking, a noble Crusader and a martial Spartan, gathered in the halls of Valhalla, escape from the realms of obscurity and steal their souls from the Lord of the Abyss. In a bloodthirsty furor, the demons seek revenge on the Warkings but Odin’s legates are more than ready to vanquish the Monarchs of the dusk with their hard-hitting anthems. Folklore-like elements like the opener “Freedom”, the death angel’s chant “Azrael” or the epic hymn “Warriors” prove the Warkings’ uncompromising vigor.

In order to sweeten the wait for Revenge, the Warkings present their first single, “Warriors”, today. This battle hymn is made of pure heavy metal: straight forward riffs, sing-along lyrics and attacking drums pay tribute to the Order of the Dragon, including their most known member Vlad “Dracula” Tepes! Accompanied by a fast-paced official video, featuring a beautiful scenery and the epic story of a battle well-fought, this track will sweep you off your feet.

The Tribune on “Warriors”: “Hell wants revenge... so we will fight fire with fire. We forged an alliance with the order of the dragon and the infamous Vlad Tepes.”

Watch the official video for “Warriors”  below.

Warkings - Revenge: Once, there were four ancient kings who gathered in the golden halls of Valhalla, a roman Tribune, a wild Viking, a noble Crusader and a martial Spartan. They were sent back to the living by the allfather himself to tell the stories of the epic battles they fought. It turned out to be a great time for the Warkings, striking the world with their battle hymns. Keen of new adventures they made their way through the land of the living. But as the fame of the four kings rose, the envy and hate of the Underworld grew. When the four kings escaped from the realms of darkness, they stole their souls from the lords of the Underworld. In rage, bloodthirsty demons and warriors swarmed out to retrieve what belonged to them, seeking for revenge on those who betrayed them. But the kings strike back. Leading the constantly growing legion of their Warkings Warriors, they will enter the eternal fight against the darkness. Armed with new hymns and with a mighty battle cry, they will put themselves against the forces of the underworld. Hell wants revenge...and the Warkings are ready for battle.

The Crusader on Revenge: “We are back to crush the armies of the underworld with steel and battle axe. Join us…we need you battle cry!!!”

Revenge will be available in the following formats:

BURIED REALM Issues “Overlord” Lyric Video

BURIED REALM Issues “Overlord” Lyric Video

Buried Realm is a solo studio project, hatched from the mind of Josh Dummer. It is the second album he has put out under that moniker and once again he has written an epic, creative record filled not only with his own talent but also with that of a smorgasbord of special guests from around the world. Dummer comments on the album:

"After nearly three years of creating Embodiment Of The Divine, I am very pleased to present and share this album with everyone. I’m honored to be joined by a number of guests that have influenced my writing and playing over the years. Their contributions have truly helped bring the album to another level."

"Embodiment Of The Divine features guest performances from Andy Gillion, Benjamin Ellis, Bob Katsionis, Dean Arnold, Lee McKinney, Peter Wichers, Rafael Trujillo, and Ryan Strain. Listeners can expect to hear a whole lot of riffs, solos, and melody. The album has its traditional arrangements at times but is also built on technical and chaotic grounds. I think the overall atmosphere of this album is darker compared to the previous one."

The third single off the album “Overlord” features guest Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est):

Dummer adds: "This song caries tons of leads and some of the more challenging guitar parts on the album. A message about looking forward, shedding skin, but being haunted by “dead skin” so to speak."

Recommended for fans of Soilwork, Nevermore, and Children Of Bodom, Buried Realm is progressive melodic death metal. Embodiment Of The Divine is out on July 24. Pre-orders can be placed now at this location.

Tracklisting:

"The Burning Remnants" ft. guests Dean Arnold (Operus, ex-Vital Remains)

"Scales Of Queen Dragon" ft. guests Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est)
"Silver Tongue" ft. guests Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), Dean Arnold (Operus, ex-Vital Remains)
"In The Shallow Light" ft. guests Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Ryan Strain (Chaos For The Masses)

ALIZARIN – The Last Semblance Streaming In Full Ahead Of Release

ALIZARIN – The Last Semblance Streaming In Full Ahead Of Release

On Friday, July 10, cinematic rock metallers Alizarin will be releasing their sophomore album The Last Semblance. Unlike their strictly instrumental debut record Cast Zenith (2018), this next release features prominent vocals throughout from guitarist Josh Kay. Rich harmonies and baritone resonance from Kay’s voice add a new dimension to the music, allowing the band’s sound to expand to truly uncharted territory.

The album covers a wide spectrum of sonic landscapes and emphasizes the melodic journey over deliberate technique. Although vocalist and guitarist Joshua Kay is the chief songwriter of Alizarin, the compositions on the new record focus on a balance from each instrument, with less of an emphasis on the domination of guitar solos and a greater exploration of what each musician is capable of. Drawing influence from such groups as Porcupine Tree, Haken, Alice in Chains, Opeth, Portishead, and many more, the result of Alizarin's sound is one that is challenging to define, pensive, and often at the crossroads of melody and dissonance.

The album is streaming in full ahead of release; listen below:

Kay adds: "We are extremely excited and proud to present our new album The Last Semblance, a record that defies the expectations of modern progressive music and offers something for every listener. This music takes our brand of cinematic metal we began on our debut record and expands upon it in every single way. Rich and dramatic compositions, unorthodox chord progressions, lush vocals and harmonies, and compelling melodies abound on our new album. We wanted to stand out from our peers and offer something that will be immediately memorable and captivating, yet will continue to reveal new layers of depth upon every listen."

MIKE PORTNOY Performs THE BEATLES' "Because" A Capella; Video

Drum legend Mike Portnoy (Sons Of Apollo, BPMD, ex-Dream Theater) has released the video below, along with the following message:

"This is my Vocal Cam/Track from the Voices Of Apollo a capella Version of The Beatles' 'Because'. I took George's part which is lowest harmony of the three, but also one of the trickiest melodies... (Jeff Scott Soto did John's middle part and Bumblefoot took Paul's high part). This is one of the greatest 3-part harmonies in the history of contemporary music... it was so much fun tackling this amazing piece of music and vocal harmony!"

Voices Of Apollo (Jeff Scott Soto, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Mike Portnoy) previously released the video below, featuring a performance of The Beatles' "Nowhere Man":

Kansas will release their new album, The Absence Of Presence, on July 17 via InsideOut Music. In this new video trailer, the band discuss the songwriting process:

The Absence Of Presence album follows-up 2016’s The Prelude Implicit, which debuted at #14 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. CULT OF LILITH Reveal Mara Album Details; "Cosmic Maelstrom" Track Streaming

CULT OF LILITH Reveal Mara Album Details; "Cosmic Maelstrom" Track Streaming

On September 4, Iceland's Cult Of Lilith will release their debut full-length, Mara, via Metal Blade Records. A frantic collision of death metal, prog, complex classical structures and more, Mara is a restless, constantly shifting collection that is as imaginative as it is compulsive.

For a first preview of the album, the new single, "Cosmic Maelstrom", can be heard below. The album can be pre-ordered here.

Founded in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2015 by guitarist Daniel Þór Hannesson as the sole member, he hired a session drummer and singer to create the Arkanum EP (2016), going on to put together a full band that was cemented in 2018 with the addition of vocalist Mario Infantes Ávalos. "Stylistically, Mara is way more diverse and refined than Arkanum, but still retains some of the essential ideas of composition. There was another vocalist at the time and since their styles are so different, it has made a big impact on the progression of the band. Mario has great range, so he fits very well with our diverse music. There is also a big difference in sound: Mara is much heavier, in your face and beefier than Arkanum, thanks to the amazing Dave Otero, who mixed and mastered the album."

Tracking was done at two studios: drums laid down at Dutch Ice Productions with renowned engineer Chris van der Valk (Hail of Bullets) with everything else recorded at guitarist Kristján Jóhann Júlíusson's Krummafótur Studio. "Tracking guitars was grueling, as it always is for this type of music. Both of our guitarists are perfectionists and achieving a perfect result requires going overboard with tracking until execution is flawless. The whole process was challenging and difficult, but that is kind of the whole point. It makes it more gratifying when it all comes together," says Júlíusson. The results speak for themselves, and open a thrilling new chapter for a band helping establish Iceland's place on the extreme metal map.

Mara tracklisting:

"Cosmic Maelstrom"

"Enter the Mancubus"
"Atlas"
"Comatose"
"Profeta Paloma"
"Zángano"
"Le Soupir du Fantôme"

"Dreaming of what's to come... Freedom to rise beyond."

Where Death Lies was recorded from January to April 2020. The drums were recorded by Wojtek & Sławek Wieslawski at the Hertz Recording Studio in Białystok, Poland and the guitars, bass & vocals were recorded by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio in Nijlen, Belgium.

RAMOS Streaming New Song "I'm Only Human" Feat. Late TNT/SHY Singer TONY MILLS

RAMOS Streaming New Song "I'm Only Human" Feat. Late TNT/SHY Singer TONY MILLS

Guitarist Josh Ramos (Hardline, The Storm, Two Fires) will release his new solo album, My Many Sides, on August 7 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Featuring guest vocals from Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), Joe Retta (Heaven & Earth), Terry Ilous (XYZ), John Bisaha (The Babys), Tony Harnell (ex-TNT), and Tony Mills (ex-Shy, TNT), this album highlights Josh's abilities to play in the melodic rock and bluesy hard rock styles.

Below you can listen to the song "I'm Only Human" featuring Tony Mills, in what is his last known recorded performance. Pre-order/save My Many Sides here.

My Many Sides is Ramos’ second album as a solo artist and what a statement it is. On this album, Josh Ramos presents eleven songs where he offers several sides of his exquisite and melodic guitar playing. Featuring guest vocalists of the impressive caliber of Eric Martin (Mr Big), Danny Vaughn (Tyketto), Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), Joe Retta (Heaven & Earth), Terry Ilous (XYZ), John Bisaha (The Babys), Tony Harnell (ex-TNT), and the last recorded performance from the late Tony Mills (ex-Shy) and a solid rhythm section featuring Fabrizio Grossi on bass (who also produced the album) and Tony Morra on drums, the resulting album is an enjoyable and varied release, where the listener finds great hard rock songs in the style of classic Bad Company, Great White, and Heaven & Earth and more melodic moments, which of course harken back to Josh’s musical heritage in Hardline and The Storm.

Josh Ramos is a guitarist who needs virtually no introduction to discerning melodic rock fans. With a resume that includes The Storm (the band that featured former Journey members Gregg Rolie, Steve Smith, and Ross Valory), Two Fires (with Kevin Chalfant), and Hardline, everyone knows what a substantial contribution Josh has made to the music world.

VALKYRIE Share Official Lyric Video For "Evil Eye"

VALKYRIE Share Official Lyric Video For "Evil Eye"

Virginia-based heavy rockers, Valkyrie, return with their anthemic, riff-driven new album, Fear, coming July 24 via Relapse Records. The band have released a third song, “Evil Eye”, via the lyric video below.

“’Evil Eye” is the song that came together more quickly than the others,” explains guitar player Pete Adams. “With all of the melody, guitar bits, and tempo, it’s a lot of fun to play. We also saw an opportunity to fade out on a doubled up lead and sung chorus and jumped on it. You don’t get that chance every day.”

Fear is available as a collectible, limited edition on white, silver and black splatter vinyl. A gold and black splatter iteration is now sold out. Pre-orders can be found via Relapse.com, with digital downloads and streams available here.

Recorded at Earth Analog in Illinois, Fear showcases the tone-rich, organic songwriting process Valkyrie honed over the course of their career. A warm analog sound permeates each of the album's eight tracks, as blistering twin leads, soaring guitar harmonies by Pete and Jake Adams, poignant lyrics, and a relentless rhythm section result in a highly textured and timeless collection of heavy rock. With Fear, Valkyrie takes the next step in their evolution as one of the most creative and dynamic forces in the hard rock scene today. Tracks such as "Feeling So Low," "The Choice," and "Evil Eye" showcase Valkyrie expanding their sound, infusing their take on classic hard rock with a penchant for remarkable melodies and creative hooks.

Tracklisting:

"Feeling So Low"
"Afraid To Live"
"Loveblind"
"The Choice"
"Fear And Sacrifice"
"Brings You Down"
"Evil Eye"
"Exasperator"

WARFECT Signs Worldwide Record Deal With Napalm Records And Booking Contract With Napalm Events

WARFECT Signs Worldwide Record Deal With Napalm Records And Booking Contract With Napalm Events

"The thrash mania has just begun. Welcome to the Napalm family, Warfect!"

A thrash-avalanche is coming your way and its name is Warfect. Straight from the Swedish underground, it's time for this trio to unfold their full potential and start the metal machine they hid behind the curtain of being an insider tip in the scene.

Four years have passed since the trio based near Gothenburg released their last record Scavengers, and they won't hold back fire any longer. Warfect is ready to sweep the thrash-scene with a brand new album in 2020 that will hit you like an artillery strike.

The three-piece has supported the likes of Lich King, Vulcano or NunSlaughter in support of their albums Exoneration Denied (2013) and Scavengers (2016), and smashed stages at various festivals like SWR Barroselas, Obscene Extreme, In Flammen, Under the Black Sun and many more all over Europe.

Warfect comments: “We're absolutely thrilled to be joining the artillery of Napalm Records and Napalm Events and are looking forward to letting our thrash force spread through-out the world! Now we have a foundation to build our thrash machine upon and together with our friends at Napalm Records we will soon bring you our next piece of violence! The thrash metal future is looking bright and we’re really looking forward to exploring this brave new world and all the possibilities with it! Next up is shooting the first music video for the new album and hopefully the album will hit the market later this year. Booking-wise we’re looking ahead into 2021 and we’re sure we’ll hit a stage near you as soon as possible. Stay forsaken and keep a lookout for further news!”

Napalm Records A&R Sebastian Muench states: “The first contact with the Swedes Warfect was a classical A&R moment! A new to me, thrash metal band, sent us their new recording along with a brilliant album artwork. It was all it took to convince the entire Napalm Team, that here, a new thrash metal masterpiece was born! The band symbolizes everything that makes bands such as Kreator, Sodom or Legion Of The Damned legendary! If you need proof, have a listen to the 2016 album release Scavengers and expect even more for the new recording. Warfect, welcome to the Napalm family!"

Watch Warfect’s music video for “Drone Wars” below:

After releasing two demos under a different banner, Warfect came into the world in 2008 and have delivered pure thrash metal ever since. In the past few years, the band toured and played multiple festivals all over Europe. Major music magazines compare Warfect’s style to genre-giants like Kreator, Slayer and Sodom.

NAPALM DEATH Announces New Album 'Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism'

NAPALM DEATH Announces New Album 'Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism'

U.K. grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH will release their new studio album, "Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism", on September 18 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2015's "Apex Predator - Easy Meat" was again recorded with longtime producer Russ Russell and features artwork by Frode Sylthe.

NAPALM DEATH vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway stated about the upcoming album and its theme: "The phrase sticking in my mind when I started thinking about the lyrical direction for this album was 'the other.' You could recognize at the time that there was a rapidly growing fear and paranoia being generated about everybody, from migrating people to people with fluid sexuality and this was starting to manifest itself in very antagonistic reactions that you felt were almost verging on violence. Not everybody resorts to such reactions, of course, but even the basic lack of understanding can become toxic over time. I'm not saying that this is an entirely new phenomenon, but it has been stoked in recent history by some particularly attack-minded people in more political circles and, as ever, I felt that it would be the natural antidote to endorse basic humanity and solidarity with all.

"The artwork specifically uses a white dove as a centrepiece, which, of course, is a commonly recognised symbol of peace and cooperation. The dove has been mauled very violently by a sterilizing hand and in death appears particularly broken and bloodied. However, through the violence you can see an equality symbol in blood on the chest of the dove, which perhaps demonstrates — visually at least — that equality cuts through in the end. A positive amidst many negatives then, much like the album title itself being a bit of an oxymoron — the celebration of humanity even in the mangling jaws of negativity."

From the pinnacle of confrontational instrumental extremity and steadfast lyrical humanity, NAPALM DEATH's new album warps musical landscapes all over again. "Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism" includes 12 songs seething with caustic evolution and unrelenting scope.

Track listing:

01. Fuck The Factoid

02. Backlash Just Because

03. That Curse Of Being In Thrall

04. Contagion

05. Joie De Ne Pas Vivre

06. Invigorating Clutch

07. Zero Gravitas Chamber

08. Fluxing Of The Muscle

09. Amoral

10. Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism

11. Acting In Gouged Faith

12. A Bellyful Of Salt And Spleen

A first single off "Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism" will be launched on July 24 together with the pre-order start of the album. Look out for further details and the various album formats to be revealed soon.

NAPALM DEATH is (from left to right in photo)

* Shane Embury - Bass reverberations, barks and moans, noise-testing everyday objects

* Mark "Barney" Greenway - Bawling, shrieking, intermittent baritone

* Danny Herrera - Turbulent beat throes

ALICE COOPER Reveals His Worst Experience On Drugs - "I Woke Up At 3am And There Were 40 Bodies Lying Around Me..."

ALICE COOPER Reveals His Worst Experience On Drugs - "I Woke Up At 3am And There Were 40 Bodies Lying Around Me..."

Shock Rock legend Alice Cooper is featured in a Metal Hammer Q&A, which was published in issue #322. Following is an excerpt.

Q: What’s been your worst experience on drugs?

Cooper: "I was at a party in Detroit when THC was a big deal and everybody took these capsules of really uncut, strong stuff, so everyone passed out. I woke up at 3am and there were 40 bodies lying around me, it looked like Jonestown. I thought everybody was dead except me! It was the middle of winter, so I walked out in the snow for about two miles with just a shirt on to get myself back to being human again. By the time I got back, people were just starting to wake up. It was really terrifying!"

Q: When was the first time you felt like a rock star?

Cooper: "When you get on stage, you’re not yourself anymore and you suddenly become a different character. When I developed the Alice character, people stopped me and said, ‘You’re that guy with the make-up and the snake! Can I get your picture?’ People think it must get really old for me but I worry about the day when they don’t want my picture."

Q: What’s your favourite song in your setlist?

Cooper: "'Poison' is one of my favourite songs because people react to the scary songs or the anthems, but when you bring out 'Poison', which is fairly erotic, it’s a total turnaround for Alice Cooper."

Read more here.

Cooper recently guested on 102.9 The Hog to discuss his new single, "Don't Give Up". He also offered his thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic and reveals how it has affected his tour schedule.

Cooper: "It's so unusual for us to have more than two weeks off. I think we canceled over 120 shows. We were in Europe at the time, and they said, 'You have 24 hours to get out of Germany before we close the borders.' And I said, 'Well, I don't wanna be stuck here for three weeks.' So we got out of there. I expected this thing to go maybe a month or two months. I had no idea that it was gonna go into next year, so everybody gets sort of like a forced vacation right now, and for me, it's kind of nice. I'm here at home with all my family, and all the kids are here. My daughter is expecting a baby in July - our fourth grandchild. So it's kind of nice to be off, but we can't wait to get back on the road again."

The Afternoon Program On 102.9 The Hog · 6/10/20 - Alice Cooper

Says Alice: "'Don't Give Up' is a song about what we’ve all been going through right now and about keeping our heads up and fighting back together. This video wouldn’t have been possible without you - and who knows, you might be in it! And whatever you do - 'Don't Give Up'."

A strictly limited 7" vinyl picture disc will be released on August 14 via earMUSIC.

Was Jesus White Or Black? STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET Says 'It Shouldn't Matter'

Was Jesus White Or Black? STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET Says 'It Shouldn't Matter'

Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER says that the race and appearance of Jesus Christ "shouldn't matter" because "He was, is and forever will be our Savior."

While the most common image of Jesus Christ, at least in Western cultures, has been that of a bearded, fair-skinned man with long, wavy, light brown or blond hair and blue eyes, despite being born in the Middle Eastern Judea region, evidence indicates he probably looked very different from how he has long been portrayed.

Earlier today, Sweet took to his social media to write: "I had an interesting conversation last night at dinner about Jesus being either white or black. Most photos depict Him as white yet He was born in Bethlehem (present day Israel) so He was born a Jew. The real issue is it shouldn't matter yet in our society today it still does, from both sides. It shouldn't matter what color He was and we should all just except the fact that Regardless of the color of His skin or what He May have looked like - He was, is and forever will be our Savior and The King of Kings. It's too bad He didn't create us all to be color blind. I guess He left that up to us. Free will, free choice. Unfortunately we continue to let colors separate us. God made it so simple yet we've made it so complicated. Maybe we'll get it right Someday......."

Back in 2015, a British scientist released an image that he said was a far more accurate representation of what Jesus actually may have looked like, based on forensic anthropology.

Richard Neave recreated the face of Jesus by studying Semite skulls using modern-day forensic techniques, saying that Jesus would have likely had a darker complexion and short, dark, curly hair. These features would likely have been typical of Middle Eastern Jews in the Galilee area of northern Israel.

In a 2018 interview with the Detroit Free Press, Michael said that STRYPER was never fully embraced by the heavy metal and hard rock communities, largely because of the band's Christian lyrics.

"We've never been accepted by either side," he said. "The secular side, the mainstream, they've never accepted us to this day. We're probably that band that everyone's going to go to whenever there's a time to mock. We'll be the band used for that in most cases. Now on the Christian side, we've never really had the full support of the Christian side because we don't fit into their little club. We're not wearing suits and ties and going to every church and preaching."

Formed 37 years ago, STRYPER's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

I had an interesting conversation last night at dinner about Jesus being either white or black. Most photos depict Him...

DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA Check In From The Studio - "We're Getting Closer To Getting This Behemoth Of An Album Done"

DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA Check In From The Studio - "We're Getting Closer To Getting This Behemoth Of An Album Done"

Swedish avant-garde metallers Diablo Swing Orchestra have checked in from Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, where they are busy recording a new album dubbed (for the moment) Swagger & Stroll Down The Rabbit Hole.

"Kristin’s vocals are done and we’re getting closer to getting this behemoth of an album done. Thirteen songs, pretty amazing orchestral arrangements, guests we’re extreamly excited about etc, etc.

The hours we’ve poured into this album are ridiculous, but as things are sounding atm we couldn’t be happier. And we are still confident that this is our best effort by far! Just you wait....

It also features our first effort in Spanish and we promise it’s something to look forward to."

Diabolo Swing Ortchestra released their Pacifisticuffs album in 2017. The band is notoriously hard to pigeonhole; although comfortable nestled in the rock and metal worlds, they incorporate elements of jazz, prog and even classical music. With tongues firmly in cheek, they take a sideways look at the world we live in and sprinkle their musical output with a healthy dose of theatrical sparkle.

The core style and approach of the band remains recognizable on Pacifisticuffs, but the band has turned their sights outwards rather than inwards. Less introspective than previous releases, Pacifisticuffs offers an expression of life's highs and lows and everything in between, all delivered with that recognisable Diablo Swing Orchestra touch of Technicolor.

Tracklisting:

"Knucklehugs (Arm Yourself With Love)"
"The Age Of Vulture Culture"
"Superhero Jagganath"
"Vision Of The Purblind"
"Lady Clandestine Chainbreaker"
"Jigsaw Hustle"
"Pulse Of The Incipient"
"Ode To The Innocent"
"Interruption"
"Cul-De-Sac Semantics"
"Karma Bonfire"
"Climbing The Eyeball"
"Porch Of Perception"

SUZI QUATRO To Release 'Through My Words' Lyric Book

SUZI QUATRO To Release 'Through My Words' Lyric Book

New Haven Publishing author and rock icon Suzi Quatro will release a new book, "Through My Words", on July 27. This large, full-color hardcover contains Suzi's lyrics and personal photographs and includes her commentary about where she was when the music was made. The cover and interior graphic design were handled by Pete Cunliffe.

Suzi states: "I turned 70 on June 3rd, 2020, and my bucket list looms large. Doing a lyric book was always on that list so, here it is.

"'Through My Words' is an illustrated informative diary of my life, told through the lyrics of my songs.

"Creation has always been my salvation. Enjoy!"

Early pre-release copies are available from www.newhavenpublishingltd.com.

The official Suzi Quatro documentary feature "Suzi Q", which charts the 54-year career of the pioneering female rocker who burst on to the scene in the 1970s, received a one-night-only virtual premiere on July 1 via Altavod.

Quatro's latest studio album, "No Control", was released in March 2019 through SPV/Steamhammer.

Said Quatro: "I've never stopped releasing through the years. 'Back To The Drive' in 2006, 'In The Spotlight' in 2011, 'Quatro, Scott & Powell' in 2016. These albums were thought about and planned out in great detail. I am proud of all three releases, very proud. But my new album 'No Control' is its own animal."

According to Forbes, Quatro has written a number of songs with her son during the pandemic lockdown for her next record.

"What keeps me motivated is the same thing that always keeps me motivated: I am an entertainer and I am a communicator," she explained. "As long as I can entertain and communicate, I'm a happy bunny."

PAUL STANLEY: 'Don't Listen To Conspiracy Theorists, Wear Your Mask'

PAUL STANLEY: 'Don't Listen To Conspiracy Theorists, Wear Your Mask'

Paul Stanley has blasted people who refuse to wear a mask in public spaces to protect others from possible infection.

The KISS frontman addressed the hot-button issue as lawmakers push harder for their constituents to wear face masks to limit the spread of coronavirus. President Donald Trump has been loath to wear a mask, despite the advice of public health experts.

On Monday (July 6), Stanley took to his Twitter to share a photo of him and his eight-year-old daughter Emily wearing masks, and he included the following message: "Sunset at the beach with Emily. WEAR YOUR MASK! Don't listen to conspiracy theorists or graduates of The Internet University Of Medicine. While the credible authorities and experts continue to learn more about Covid 19 they remain in agreement about safety protocols. End of story"

Three weeks ago, the U.S. Surgeon General urged people to wear face coverings, saying they will promote freedom during the coronavirus pandemic.

"Some feel face coverings infringe on their freedom of choice- but if more wear them, we'll have MORE freedom to go out. Face coverings [leads to] less asymptomatic viral spread [leads to] more places open, and sooner!" Dr. Jerome Adams wrote on Twitter.

In a study published last month, researchers from Texas A&M University, the California Institute of Technology and the University of California San Diego, concluded "that wearing of face masks in public corresponds to the most effective means to prevent interhuman transmission."

In early April, the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention issued new guidelines that Americans should wear face coverings in public.

COREY TAYLOR Has Hope For Future Of Rock: 'I Know A Ton Of Younger Bands That Play Their Own Instruments'

COREY TAYLOR Has Hope For Future Of Rock: 'I Know A Ton Of Younger Bands That Play Their Own Instruments'

During a recent appearance on "Offstage With DWP", SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor spoke out against an age-old argument repeated by a lot of old-timers: kids today just aren't interested in guitar-driven music and just want electronic beats.

"I know a ton of younger bands that play their own instruments, that play in-your-face rock," Corey explained (see video below). "They're rebelling against what the rebellion was against us. So they're going back to basics in a lot of ways.

"Not to toot my son's horn too much, but his band, they're the real deal," Taylor continued. "They were insane. I was at their first show, and there was no sampling, there was no nothing. They just came on and they just punched the shit out of the audience for 30 minutes. I was exhausted. They did it all on their own. And I think there's a whole new generation of fans coming up that are gonna do that."

Corey's son Griffin Taylor is the frontman of VENDED, which also features Simon Crahan, the son of SLIPKNOT percsussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan.

Back in 2015, Taylor expressed his dismay over the artificial nature of modern pop music, comparing today's hits to "listening to a fucking piece of wood." He told Loudwire: "I feel like I'm being stung by 1,000 bees all at once. It's so Auto-Tuned and it's so beat-corrected and it's so canned and processed and lifeless. You might as well be listening to a fucking piece of wood at that point. It bothers me because I put so much into everything I do. I put so much into my music, I bleed for it, I die for it every goddamn night. To watch these people basically let a computer go through the motions and do all the work for them, it's insulting to everyone out there who has more talent and less attention."

Taylor recently completed work on his debut solo album for a tentative September release. Corey recorded the effort with his solo band, consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, with Zach Throne and STONE SOUR's Christian Martucci on guitar.

JACK RUSSELL Doesn't Want His Audience To Be 'Guinea Pigs' For Live Concerts Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

JACK RUSSELL Doesn't Want His Audience To Be 'Guinea Pigs' For Live Concerts Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

In a recent interview with The Cosmick View, former GREAT WHITE and current JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE frontman Jack Russell spoke about how he has been dealing with the fact that he is unable to play any live shows amid the coronavirus pandemic. He said: "We're going to go out and do some shows at some point, but I don't want to be the first one out of bag and jumping the gun and have people getting sick at our shows. That's just not cool. I don't feel good about it. I want to make sure they know what they're doing. I don't want to be a guinea pig and I don't want my audience to be guinea pigs.

"On June 26th, I did [a performance for the Facebook page of the] Monsters Of Rock [cruise], on their channel, with [another former GREAT WHITE singer] Terry Ilous, of all people, and my guitarist and one of his guitar players," he continued. "We did an acoustic thing… I did some songs, Terry did some songs and we did some songs together. It was a video event. All the guidelines were followed — we were all a certain distance apart; the crew wore masks. It was great.

"I can't afford to get sick," Jack added. "You know, I've got COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease]. [I've] been smoking for 40 years. It's not like it's bad… it's not like I can't walk or anything… I can run around on a stage like I was 20. But still, you don't want to get that stuff [COVID-19] if you've got any lung problems."

JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE is working on material for the follow-up to 2017's "He Saw It Comin'" LP.

JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE has just released "Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes", a very special acoustic album revisiting GREAT WHITE's 1987 multi-platinum masterpiece "Once Bitten" featuring some of the band's biggest and most recognizable hits, including "Save Your Love" and "Rock Me".

"He Saw It Comin'" was released in January 2017 and featured the singles "Blame It On The Night", "Sign Of The Times" and "Love Don't Live Here".

Germany's Keep It True Festival Releases Four More Hours Of Archival Footage Online; Video

Germany's Keep It True Festival Releases Four More Hours Of Archival Footage Online; Video

A few months ago, with the COVID-19 cancellation of the long running underground festival, Keep It True, as a "thank you" to the loyal fanbase, organizers posted three days worth of vintage material (interviews & performances) from the event's history. It was such a success, that last weekend, they added four more hours of material.

In what was hinted to be just the first of an ongoing series, this program focuses on the initial five years, with apparently more to follow. In addition to truly cult acts like Deadly Blessing, Hallows Eve, Overlorde and Brocas Helm (amongst many others), there are also premieres of new videos from the forthcoming albums by KIT alumni, Hittman and Glacier.
