K.K. DOWNING Says 'It Was The Right Decision' For JUDAS PRIEST To Shelf Collaboration With STOCK, AITKEN And WATERMAN

K.K. DOWNING Says 'It Was The Right Decision' For JUDAS PRIEST To Shelf Collaboration With STOCK, AITKEN And WATERMAN

In a new interview with Darren Paltrowitz, host of the "Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz", former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing spoke about the band's never-released collaboration with S/A/W, the English songwriting and record producing trio consisting of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman, well known for their U.K. pop hits with BANANARAMA, Rick Astley and Kylie Minogue.

At the start of 1988, JUDAS PRIEST and S/A/W spent four days in a studio in Paris, France and recorded three tracks, a cover version of "You Are Everything" by THE STYLISTICS, and two songs penned by S/A/W ("Runaround" and "I Will Return"). The PRIEST members later indicated that the sessions were nothing more than an experiment that was never intended to see the light of day.

Asked by Paltrowitz if he was one of the PRIEST members who voted against having the material released, Downing said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It was one of those things. Basically, our manager was friends with Pete Waterman; they'd been friends for years. And I think Pete flew over to Denmark when we were recording over there; I think it was the 'Ram It Down' album, if I remember rightly. But we met with Pete, and Pete is a great guy. The whole team was very, very talented. And they just suggested we fly to Paris and spend a couple of days there and lay a couple of tracks down, and that's what we did. And so we met up with the guys. Their pre-preparation was absolutely wonderful and they made everything very easy for us. And we put down three tracks.

"It was essentially myself and Glenn [Tipton, PRIEST guitarist], I think, really, that said that we shouldn't release the tracks," he explained. "As much as we liked them and they sounded great — they were all very professional — it just wasn't right for us. And we stood by that decision. And today, I personally think it was the right decision, for sure. But no one — our manager or Pete or Stock and Aitken — none of them ever said anything to us about it. It was our decision, and they were very cool with it. And that was it. It just went by. So, there you go."

Back in 2015, a snippet of PRIEST's version of "You Are Everything" surfaced on YouTube. You can check it out below.

Regarding PRIEST's cover of "You Are Everything", Tipton told Guitar magazine in a 1989 interview: "I don't know whether it will ever be released. I can tell you I'm pretty sure it will never be on a JUDAS PRIEST album."

Downing previously told Guitar about the group's collaboration with S/A/W: "Stock, Aitken and Waterman are very popular producers in England, producing quite a lot of hit songs by people like Rick Astley and BANANARAMA. We did a little work with them for experimental reasons. It was great to work with them because they are very professional and very good producers.'

He continued: "Everybody is very naive and think that just because they produce these pop hit artists that's all they can do. In actual fact, they can do a lot more that than."

Downing went on to say: "We had a bit of spare time and cash and we got together and had many long hours of table tennis. And we did a couple of songs. We [also] did 'Johnny B Goode'. We were asked to possibly do 'Reckless' for the original 'Top Gun', which we missed out on because we didn't want to take anything off the 'Turbo' album. We thought this would be a good opportunity to go in and do some stuff for future movies. It was purely experimental and fun."

Singer Rob Halford told the New York Post that he'd "love to release [the songs], but there's a different consensus within the band. Our rendition of 'You Are Everything' is just beautiful. It's an '80s megarock ballad, with big drums, big vocals, sweeping strings. People are a lot more open-minded now, whereas in those days it could have created a bit of push-back, maybe even some damage to our reputation."

"We signed a piece of paper that says when we're all dead, they can release them," Halford joked to The Aquarian. "I personally love those songs. They're fucking great. We've never been afraid to try everything. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. And the exercise of those songs totally worked, but they were completely wrong for us, if that makes sense. In the manner of the adventure of going to Paris for three days. … I'm totally responsible for that because I just said to Glenn one day, 'What you think about this deal?' 'Let's do it.' We never shut each other down. Even the most ridiculous things sometimes are ridiculous, but you don't know until you carry the exercise. That's what we did. We went over there and had a blast."

Tipton told Super Channel 88 in 1988: "We went in [with Stock, Aitken and Waterman], we did four days in Paris, we got four days in between Christmas and going back into the studio. It was a mutual thing, an experiment to just see what would come of it. We weren't chasing hit singles; we'd actually finished our album anyway and we had only got mixes left to do."

He continued: "I think what a lot of people don't realize about them is there's far more to them than 'hit' producers. I mean, Mike Stock's a great guitar player and we work really well together.

"The tracks we came up with were very interesting. I don't suppose they'll ever be on a JUDAS PRIEST album, but we've been approached a lot recently to do film soundtracks and things, so maybe they'll be used for that. Who knows? But were really pleased with them. We've never been scared to experiment, so..."

Tipton added: "What I think people thought, you know, it was bizarre because we were surprised at the sudden, almost like a backlash. People thought it was going to be like 'JUDAS BANANARAMA PRIEST' or something, God forbid we should ever do that — we wouldn't compromise the band in anything of that nature. But as it's turned out, we've got a fantastic heavy ballad and we've got two real good rock tracks; but we've got too much material for 'Ram It Down'..."

Halford added in a 1988 interview with Tele 5 Hard 'N' Heavy: "[The tracks are] mixed and they're hidden away in a vault in our office in London, and some day, at some point, people will hear them — it's just getting the timing right. We didn't put them on 'Ram It Down', because we had all the material already written anyway, so there wasn't any real need to include them, but I think a lot of people were worried you know. They think, 'Oh god, JUDAS PRIEST is going to sound like Rick Astley or BANANARAMA!' and we go, 'No! No! No! It's not going to be like that!'

"We would never jeopardize our career. We know what JUDAS PRIEST means to ourselves and we know what JUDAS PRIEST means to the fans around the world, so we'd never compromise ourselves — we'd never do anything less than what people expect from us. So they're three very powerful songs, you know, so maybe you'll hear them in 1990 or the year 2000, I don't know. We would like people to hear them, because I think people are very curious about what's happening and we had a fantastic time with them..."

Ex-DARK TRANQUILLITY Bassist ANDERS IWERS Denies He Was Fired, Says He 'Was Done' With The Band

Ex-DARK TRANQUILLITY Bassist ANDERS IWERS Denies He Was Fired, Says He 'Was Done' With The Band

Former DARK TRANQUILLITY bassist Anders Iwers says that the decision to leave the band was both "easy" and "very hard."

Last month, it was announced that Iwers and drummer Anders Jivarp were exiting DARK TRANQUILLITY.

Iwers joined DARK TRANQUILLITY in 2016 and played on the group's last two albums, 2016's "Atoma" and 2020's "Moment". Jivarp is an original member of DARK TRANQUILLITY, having played on all of the band's releases to date.

On Monday (September 20), Iwers took to his Facebook page to write: "Hello friends. I took some time off from social media after my decision to leave the band was made public. In light of recent social media activities I think I may need to address this matter a little.

"I was not fired from DT. I quit before the summer, but we decided to wait a bit until we posted it officially.

"My decision to leave DARK TRANQUILLITY after six years was not made in haste, or in affect.

These last 18 months or so during the pandemic was rather hard for me, on many levels, and it made me think and reflect really hard on my place in life, and who I really am. I came to the conclusion that who I am is not decided by how many people I get to play in front of. And it is not decided by what or with who I play.

"I will always play. Music is not a choice for me.

"I have known and loved the DT-guys for over 30 years and they are family to me. Yes, we had our differences, musically and personally. Doesn't matter, people are different. I consider them brothers in all but blood. This of course includes Anders Jivarp, who was still in the band when I left. Most of our crew I have known for over ten years. Also family who I would take a bullet for.

"To make it very easy to understand, I was done. In my soul, I did not have the urge anymore. Seeing the touring plans made me realize that I don't want to be away from my family for that long anymore. So when that became clear to me, the decision was easy. And very hard. But inside, I know I made the right call. Though I don't regret a single moment spent with DT.

"I will continue to support them. Always."

Jivarp and Iwers will be replaced on DARK TRANQUILLITY's upcoming tour by Joakim Strandberg Nilsson (IN MOURNING, WOLVES WITHIN) and Christian Jansson (GRAND CADAVER, PAGANDOM), respectively.

DARK TRANQUILLITY frontman Mikael Stanne shared the news of Jivarp and Iwers's departures in a statement on social media on August 13. He wrote: "Times have truly changed.

"This last year and a half has been challenging to say the least, and we've all had time to think over our decisions and motivations in all aspects of life. When removed from what you take for granted, it becomes clear that you realize what is truly important in life. And this is different for everybody.

"Anders Jivarp and Anders Iwers have decided to move on to other things and not be a part of the band anymore.

"These are two of the most amazing, loyal and dedicated friends and musicians you could ever find and as sad as we are seeing them go, we know that if passion leads you elsewhere you should follow it.

"Anders Jivarp has of course been there from the very beginning, being instrumental in creating the sound that eventually became our own. His songs are some of our most beloved and with the exception of one insane evening in Istanbul 20 years ago he has played every single show since the band's inception. We're excited to hear what will come out of Anders' future musical projects.

"Anders Iwers has been with us for the last six years but since we have known each other from the very early days of the band it felt like he had always been there. He played on our two latest records, not to mention being an integral part of our live shows.

"We love you guys so much and we wish you the absolute best in everything that you do."

Released in November 2020, "Moment" was recorded at Nacksving Studios and Rogue Music by Martin Brändström and then mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

Hello friends.

I took some time off from social media after my decision to leave the band was made public.

DORO - The Queen Of Metal Documentary 2021 Streaming

DORO - The Queen Of Metal Documentary 2021 Streaming

On September 24th, Germany's WDR network released a new Rockpalast documentary, Doro - The Queen Of Metal.

The documentary features metal icon Doro Pesch and looks back on her 40 year career. She is proof that it is possible to escape predetermined life lines and to live a dream that is a role model, encouragement, role model and cult at the same time.

When heavy metal rocked out of the underground into the charts in the early '80s, the gender roles were clearly distributed: long-haired guys on and in front of the stages raised their fists, while female metal fans watched on the edge of the action. Only a few women venture into the spotlight for hard guitar riffs back then.

Since then, the Düsseldorf-born singer has been an exception in the male-dominated world of heavy metal. She is a bundle of energy and a power woman and not only for fans the true Queen of Metal: She has written songs with Lemmy from Motörhead, sung with Klaus Meine of the Scorpions in, and paved the way for bands from the region like Blind Guardian into the international heavy metal scene, and she herself regularly rocks the Wacken Festival in front of 80,000 fans.

Doro Pesch has received gold and platinum awards in her career for over 10 million records sold. Over 2,800 live performances on four continents in 60 countries around the world, 21 albums and countless covers on all relevant music magazines prove her career.

With Doro Pesch, Klaus Meine (Scorpions), André Olbrich and Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and boxing world champion Regina Halmich.

A film from Oliver Schwabe.

Subtitles in English are available.

On September 24, Doro celebrated the 35th anniversary of her classic album Triumph And Agony, with the release of Triumph And Agony Live, which will be issued on her own label Rare Diamonds Productions / Rough Trade.

Triumph And Agony Live was recorded in front of a mega-crowd at the famous Sweden Rock Festival, Doro and her band delivered a show for the ages.

Doro: "It has always been my dream to play the complete Triumph And Agony album live. The order of the tracks is different from the original album, but we're playing all ten songs in new, powerful versions."

The audience thanked them frantically. "It was fantastic," Doro explains. "There was a killer atmosphere!" And this was perfectly captured in sound and image - to be heard (and seen) on the great Triumph And Agony Live album.

"It's one of my all-time favorite albums," Doro reveals, "It's got some of our biggest classics and anthems like 'All We Are,' 'Für Immer,' or 'I Rule The Ruins,' plus fan favorites 'Metal Tango,' 'Three Minute Warning,' and 'Kiss Of Death.' And not forgetting the album opener and headbanger 'Touch Of Evil.' I'm super excited and can't wait to let fans hear and see Triumph And Agony’ And it's so exciting to hear the live versions of the classic songs. They capture even more magic now. When I see the fans at the shows and hear them scream and sing along, I know what I live for."

BLINK-182's MARK HOPPUS Says He Is 'Cancer Free'

BLINK-182's MARK HOPPUS Says He Is 'Cancer Free'

BLINK-182 singer and bassist Mark Hoppus, who went public with his cancer diagnosis in June, has announced that he is cancer free.

Two months ago, Hoppus confirmed that he was battling a blood disorder called stage 4-A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, the same type of cancer his mother previously beat. Hoppus completed chemotherapy treatment earlier this month, and he took to his Instagram earlier today (Wednesday, September 29) to write: "Just saw my oncologist and I'm cancer free!!

"Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love. Still have to get scanned every six months and it'll take until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed."

The musician broke the news of his diagnosis on June 23 by posting a photo of himself in what appeared to be a doctor's office surrounded by medical equipment. He wrote in an accompanying caption: "Yes hello. One cancer treatment, please." He later said that he had been undergoing treatment for three months.

"It sucks and I'm scared, and at the same time I'm blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this," Hoppus wrote at the time. "I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I'm trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can't wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all."

In July, he said that his "chemo [was] working. I still have months of treatment ahead, but it's the best possible news," he added. "I'm so grateful and confused and also sick from the last week's chemo. But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of people around me are destroying the cancer."

The 49-year-old Hoppus is BLINK-182's bassist, co-vocalist and sole remaining founding member.

BLINK-182's latest album, "Nine", was released in September 2019 via Columbia Records and includes singles "I Really Wish I Hated You", "Darkside", "Happy Days", "Generational Divide" and "Blame It On My Youth".

Since its humble beginnings in 1992 in San Diego, BLINK-182 has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and rocked audiences around the globe, becoming one of the defining and inspirational rock bands of its generation.

BLINK-182 is Hoppus, Travis Barker (drums) and Matt Skiba (vocals/guitar). A guitarist and singer with ALKALINE TRIO, Skiba replaced original BLINK-182 singer Tom DeLonge in 2016.

BLINK-182 released its first post-DeLonge album, "California", in 2016.

BREAKING BENJAMIN Rejoined By Bassist MARK KLEPASKI At Scranton Concert (Video)

BREAKING BENJAMIN Rejoined By Bassist MARK KLEPASKI At Scranton Concert (Video)

BREAKING BENJAMIN was rejoined by former bassist Mark Klepaski on stage during the band's concert last night (Saturday, September 18) at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania to perform the song "Firefly".

Prior to launching into the track, BREAKING BENJAMIN frontman Benjamin Burnley addressed the audience, telling them: "I want you guys to fill up your lungs and give a nice, nice, nice 'welcome home' warm welcome to a very special guest tonight. This is our friend for many, many years, Mark Klepaski. Mark played bass on 'Saturate' [2002], 'We Are Not Alone' [2004], 'Phobia' [2006] and 'Dear Agony' [2009]. We've known each other for so long. 20 years. I love you.

"You guys wanna hear Mark play bass on one of our songs?" he added. "You were there for this one when we recorded it. He actually is playing bass on this song on the record. And Aaron's [Bruch, current BREAKING BENJAMIN bassist/backing vocalist] gonna sing it, so make some noise for Aaron. Aaron Bruch, everybody. We wanna hear you guys singing along. Are you ready?"

According to Billboard, Klepaski and guitarist Aaron Fincke were fired by Burnley in 2011. They were dismissed from the group after allegedly giving permission for a remixed version of the song "Blow Me Away" to appear on the group's 2011 greatest-hits album, "Shallow Bay: The Best Of Breaking Benjamin". At the time, Burnley claimed that Klepaski and Fincke were offered $100,000 by the band's label to approve the revised version of the song, and that they did not inform him or the band's management of the remix. The legal dispite effectively ended this era of the band. Once the legal matters were settled, Burnley reformed BREAKING BENJAMIN with a new lineup in 2014.

BREAKING BENJAMIN's latest release was "Aurora", a collection of reimagined versions of the band's biggest and most popular songs. The set included special guests Lacey Sturm (ex-FLYLEAF), Scooter Ward (COLD) and Spencer Chamberlain (UNDEROATH).

BREAKING BENJAMIN's last collection of all-new material, "Ember", debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and marked the multiplatinum band's fourth Top 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200, following 2015's No. 1 debut for "Dark Before Dawn" (certified gold), "Dear Agony" (platinum) at No. 4 and "Phobia" (platinum) at No. 2. "Ember" spun off two No. 1 hits at Active Rock radio with "Red Cold River" and "Torn In Two".

NIGHT RANGER To Celebrate 10th Anniversary Of 'Somewhere In California' With First-Ever Vinyl Release

NIGHT RANGER To Celebrate 10th Anniversary Of 'Somewhere In California' With First-Ever Vinyl Release

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Somewhere In California", the acclaimed 2011 release by iconic classic rockers NIGHT RANGER, Postseason Records (in conjunction with M-Theory Audio and Record Store Day) will issue the album on vinyl for the first time on Black Friday (November 26). This limited-edition LP — which will be offered on Pacific Blue-colored wax — will feature a gatefold jacket, a printed inner sleeve and an exclusive, in-depth liner notes interview with founding members Jack Blades (bass/vocals), Kelly Keagy (drums/vocals) and Brad Gillis (guitars).

A return to form that measured up to the likes of the platinum classics "Midnight Madness" and "7 Wishes", "Somewhere In California" — NIGHT RANGER's tenth studio album — is a modern AOR classic from a legendary band that both epitomized and transcended the arena rock sound. It earned a rare 100% rating from MelodicRock.com ("simply essential… one of the band's best records") and led to the group's first appearance on the Billboard Top 200 in 23 years. The record was the group's first with guitarist Joel Hoekstra (WHITESNAKE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and ushered in a decade of activity that saw the band — best known for the timeless anthems "Sister Christian", "(You Can Still) Rock In America" and "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" — achieve its highest visibility in years via tours with the likes of JOURNEY, DEF LEPPARD, FOREIGNER and Sammy Hagar.

"I think this album shows how much NIGHT RANGER has grown over the years," Keagy said during the liner notes interview. "This became a new start for us, a new beginning for NIGHT RANGER — not only energy-wise, but it showed what good songwriters we were, and that we could continue on and still make great music."

"It was a conscious effort to make a classic-sounding NIGHT RANGER record," Blades added. "We didn't go over the songs so many times to where we were sick of them, and all of a sudden they got neutered. We kept the excitement going, and I think that translated into the actual recordings."

Having sold over 17 million albums worldwide, performed across more than 4,000 stages and captivated a radio audience that exceeds 1 billion, NIGHT RANGER is unquestionably an iconic act of the 1980s rock scene. The band has earned widespread recognition and left an indelible mark on the music industry with a long list of gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums. Their popularity is fueled by an impressive number of instantly recognizable hit singles and signature album tracks that have been prominently featured in many different areas of global media and pop culture, including television ("Glee", "Grey's Anatomy"), video games ("Grand Theft Auto"), Broadway ("Rock Of Ages"), commercials (Dr. Pepper, JBL) and feature films ("Boogie Nights", "The Secret Of My Success").

Perhaps most impressively, NIGHT RANGER continues to issue high-quality new material such as the recently released "ATBPO (And The Band Played On)" and deliver energetic live performances that continue to please fans and crowds around the world. The group's upcoming shows include performances at the Monsters Of Rock Cruise's inaugural Monsters On The Mountain festival, the Kiss Kruise and Sweden Rock Festival.

"Somewhere In California" track listing:

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN And BEN PHILLIPS Kick Off Rock Installment Of 'How I Wrote That Song'

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN And BEN PHILLIPS Kick Off Rock Installment Of 'How I Wrote That Song'

BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.), Beasley Media Group and Xperi's HD Radio Technology have launched the fourth installment of BMI's signature series "How I Wrote That Song", featuring Taylor Momsen and Ben Phillips of the notable rock band THE PRETTY RECKLESS.

Each episode of the 12-part series will give audiences an insider's look into the creative process of writing and producing hit songs as well as the stories behind them. This episode features the writing process behind some of THE PRETTY RECKLESS's biggest hits like "Heaven Knows", "Messed Up World", "Follow Me Down" and many more.

A new Brian Ives-hosted episode will air every two weeks on Beasley Media Group radio stations across the country, with the video component posted on bbgi.com.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's latest album, "Death By Rock And Roll", was made available in February via Fearless Records in the U.S. and Century Media Records in the rest of the world.

Upon release, "Death By Rock And Roll" topped multiple sales charts — including Billboard's Top Albums, Rock, Hard Music, and Digital Charts. The record also yielded two back-to-back No. 1 singles — "Death By Rock And Roll" and "And So It Went" (featuring Tom Morello). The band has tallied six No. 1 singles at the rock format throughout its career.

"Death By Rock And Roll" is THE PRETTY RECKLESS's first album to be made without longtime producer Kato Khandwala, who died in April 2018 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

JOHNNY ROTTEN Says He's "Seriously In A State Of Financial Ruin" After Losing Court Battle Against Fellow SEX PISTOLS

JOHNNY ROTTEN Says He's "Seriously In A State Of Financial Ruin" After Losing Court Battle Against Fellow SEX PISTOLS

John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) recently lost a High Court battle to stop the Sex Pistols music from being used in a new TV drama.

Former drummer Paul Cook and guitarist Steve Jones had sued Lydon after he tried to veto the use of the punk group's songs in a show directed by Danny Boyle. The pair argued that the group had an agreement that such decisions could be taken on a "majority rule basis".

In court, Lydon said he rejected that deal, likening it to "slave labour". The singer said the band member agreement (BMA) had never been adhered to and that requests for licences had previously been subject to individual members' vetoes.

However, a judge ruled that the contract was valid and active, and that the majority of the band could overrule any individual member's veto.

The judge, Sir Anthony Mann, also noted that Mr Lydon "had actually signed away his power to control the use of music rights" to publishing and music companies such as Warner Chappell Music and BMG.

Now, speaking with The Telegraph (via NME), Lydon says his former bandmates are "evil" and that he's "seriously in a state of financial ruin".

“I’ve got no more savings, no more loans, no pensions. I’ve got nothing… I’m fucked, and I’m scuppered in so many different ways,” Lydon said.

“This entire juggernaut of confusion has cost me millions,” Lydon said of the court case. “Such a hideous, nasty onslaught; I never expected Steve, Paul, and Glen to be that evil. And we never even sat down and had a conversation about it.”

Lydon also suggested that he was outmatched from the beginning given that Pistol is set to premiere on Walt Disney Company subsidiary FX. “This became Walt Disney money versus me. Who do you think’s gonna win?” he said. “The Sex Pistols have become the property of Mickey fucking Mouse.”

Lydon went on to say in the interview that he worries his financial situation will impact the health treatment of his wife Nora, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and for whom Lydon is effectively a full-time carer for, “seeing as they’ve stolen all my money”.

“It’s a very serious problem,” Lydon said. “I’m gonna have to work really hard to gain anything like a fundamentally stable environment to take care of my loved ones. This is what they’ve done to me. Thanks, boys!”

Says Metallica: "Can you believe it’s been almost thirty years since its original release? Neither can we! Then off we went to hit the road for a massive 300+ show tour, and the ‘Tallica experience went to a whole new level. To celebrate this milestone, we had to go all out with a wide variety of configurations for all your listening pleasure, including 180-gram double vinyl LP, standard CD and 3CD expanded edition, and digital (including high-def versions).

"There’s also the ultimate release for die-hard fans: a Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set containing over 24 hours of music including the album remastered on 180-gram 2LP, a picture disc, three live LPs, 14 CDs (containing rough mixes, demos, interviews, and live shows), 6 DVDs (containing outtakes, behind the scenes, official videos, and live shows), a 120-page hardcover book, four different tour laminates, three unique lithos, three guitar picks, a Metallica lanyard, a folder with lyric sheets, and a download card.

"But wait… of course there’s more! In addition to the reissue of The Black Album, we’re also pretty pumped about the release of The Metallica Blacklist which features an unprecedented 50+ artists spanning an unbelievably vast range of genres, generations, continents, and more, each contributing a unique interpretation of their favorite Black Album cut.

"Everyone who pre-orders any configuration of either release will receive digital instant grats delivered right to your inbox throughout the summer. Keep watching this site and our socials for lots of video and audio previews as well as all kinds of other Black Album related activities… it’s definitely going to be one black summer!"

"With contributions from countries all over the globe from the US to Nigeria, there are tracks from singer-songwriters, country artists, electronic, and hip-hop artists alongside punk rockers, indie darlings, icons of rock, metal, world music, and many, many more covering the entire spectrum from musicians we’ve shared the stage with, to some who were not even born yet when the original album was released!

"The Metallica Blacklist will be available in multiple formats including digital (standard and high-def versions), 4CD, and a limited edition 7LP vinyl pressing. Pre-orders will instantly receive multi-platinum selling recording artist, songwriter, philanthropist, and trailblazer Miley Cyrus’ version of “Nothing Else Matters” featuring Watt, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo, and Chad Smith, as well as Columbian-born rock/pop superstar, and winner of 20+ Grammy & Latin Music Grammy Awards, Juanes’ interpretation of “Enter Sandman.” Additional digital instant grat tracks will be delivered right to your inbox throughout the summer.

"One hundred percent of the profits go to charity – 50% to our own All Within My Hands and 50% to a charity of each artist’s choice. In addition to raising money for charity, we wanted to show that Metallica’s music transcends genres, distance, and cultures, and we like to think that – with everyone’s help – we’ve done just that. It was important to us that the artists could choose whichever song they most connected to; it didn’t matter if we already had multiple versions of a song, if an artist wanted to cover that song, so be it. We were honored to have artists of this caliber want to be a part of the project and we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed putting it all together!

"One album, 12 songs, 53 artists, unlimited possibilities."

Watch ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO Play IRON MAIDEN's 'The Number Of The Beast' Using Signature STEVE HARRIS Bass

Watch ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO Play IRON MAIDEN's 'The Number Of The Beast' Using Signature STEVE HARRIS Bass

ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello has uploaded a video of him playing along to the classic IRON MAIDEN song "The Number Of The Beast", the title track of the legendary British heavy metal band's 1982 album, using his signature Steve Harris Fender Precision bass.

In the clip, which can be seen below, Bello said: "Today I woke up in an IRON MAIDEN mood, meaning that I feel like jamming some MAIDEN. So I went to my storage and picked up a specific bass to inspire me to do it. So I picked up this baby. You probably know what it is by now; all of us IRON MAIDEN fans do. This is my signature Steve Harris Fender Precision bass.

"But what's even more special about this bass for me is that when we were on tour with IRON MAIDEN — ANTHRAX and IRON MAIDEN; one of our many tours we've done together — I asked my, I'm honored to say he's my friend, Steve Harris to sign this, and he did, which makes it even more special for me.

"So, I love this bass. It's one of my favorites. It sounds great, plays great and feels great.

"So what I would do [is] I would come down to my basement and just jam until the neighbors complain — very loudly. So I think I'll do that now."

Bello's memoir, "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax", is due on October 12 via Rare Bird. The foreword was written by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons.

Bello, a member of ANTHRAX since 1984, has sold over ten million albums, traveled the globe more times than he cares to count, and enthralled audiences from the world's biggest stages. His long-awaited memoir would be a gripping read even if its pages only contained stories about his life as a recording and touring musician. While those stories are indeed included — and will blow your mind — Bello also focuses on deeper subjects in "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons". Once you've heard his life story, you'll understand why.

Born into a family of five, Frank grew up in difficult circumstances. His father abandoned his wife and children, and Frank's mother moved heaven and earth to keep them fed and educated. Left with no male role model, Frank found inspiration in heavy metal bass players, following their example and forging a career with ANTHRAX from his early teens — first as a roadie, and then as the group's bass player.

International stardom came Frank's way by the mid-to-late 1980s, when he was still in his early twenties, but tragedy struck in 1996 when his brother Anthony was murdered in New York. Although the case went to trial, the suspected killer was released without charge after a witness, intimidated by violent elements, withdrew his testimony.

Two decades later, Frank is a father himself to a young son. Like many men who grew up without the guidance of a dad, he asks himself important questions about the meaning of fatherhood and how to do the job well. This is the wisdom which "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons" offers readers.

Despite the emotive nature of these topics, "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons" is a funny, entertaining read. A man with a keen sense of humor and the perspective to know how surreal his story has been, Frank doesn't preach or seek sympathy in his book. Instead, he simply passes on the wisdom gained from a lifetime of turbulence, paying tribute to his loved ones in a way that will resonate with us all.

RUSH's GEDDY LEE Thanks 'Artists For Peace And Justice' For 'Lifetime Achievement Award'

RUSH's GEDDY LEE Thanks 'Artists For Peace And Justice' For 'Lifetime Achievement Award'

RUSH bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee was honored with a solo Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, September 11 at the Artists For Peace And Justice (APJ) gala in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lee was recognized for his "commitment to philanthropy," including his support of brain cancer research, Toronto Food Bank, Alberta Floods, Doctors Without Borders, Grapes For Humanity, United Way, Canadian Museum For Human Rights and Casey House.

The APJ is a nonprofit organization that encourages peace and social justice and addresses issues of poverty around the world.

On Wednesday (September 15), Geddy took to his Instagram to share a few photos from the event, and he included the following message: "For over 12 years, Artists for Peace and Justice have raised an extraordinary amount of funds to provide support, education and hope to the people of Haiti.

"Philanthropy requires a tremendous amount of collective action and momentum to have an impact. It's the volunteers who really make it happen, the ones on the ground delivering supplies and building schools and relationships with those who have been devastated, the generous folks operating the auctions and working events from behind the scenes to make sure the most money is raised and then spent to maximum effect.

"I admire APJ's approach. You can see the money at work, and perhaps most remarkably, you can see the impact it's had from the point of view of the very people it's working for: in the articulate, ambitious and creative expression of the students and graduates of the Academy in Port-au-Prince themselves. That's not just patching up some hurricane damage; that's building a future.

"So, thank you to APJ for the lovely honour this past weekend, big thanks to Strombo for the induction and to all those who help set the wheels of change in motion. If you want to learn more or donate - visit APJ: Artists for Peace & Justice @artistsforpeace".

Over the course of their five-decade-long career, the members of RUSH have thrown their support behind a wide variety of worthy causes often privately and sometimes publicly. From their earliest shows at Toronto's historic Maple Leaf Gardens, the band started working with the Toronto Food Bank to encourage fans to bring food for those in need. Eventually deciding to do their first charity concert at Maple Leaf Gardens to benefit the United Way in the early '80s, and an amFAR show to benefit AIDS research in the early '90s, engaging themselves and their fans in positive pursuits naturally became part of the RUSH ethos.

As dedicated advocates of human rights, in 2008 RUSH donated $100,000 from a Winnipeg concert's gate to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. In the same year, on their "Snakes & Arrows Tour", the band donated $100,000 from their show in New Orleans to Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation to assist in the revitalization of the city post Hurricane Katrina, and sponsor the construction of a house in The Lower Ninth Ward dubbed "The House That Rush Built".

From their 2010 "Time Machine" tour onwards, RUSH donated $1 from every concert ticket sold to various charities including Doctors Without Borders. In 2013, the band performed an incredibly successful benefit concert at Red Deer's Enmax Centrium with all proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross to help victims of the flooding that devastated many regions of southern Alberta. The event raised more than $575,000 and was one of the largest donations made to the Alberta Flood Relief.

RUSH has also been a passionate supporter of Little Kids Rock, a national non-profit organization that works to restore and revitalize music education programs in disadvantaged U.S. public schools. In efforts to provide percussion instruments to schools, the group created a premium Neil Peart Paragon Cymbal Pack, each of which came with a free splash cymbal personalized, autographed and dated by the RUSH drummer himself. This cause-based marketing initiative went on to raise over $50,000 for Little Kids Rock. Working with their endorsement companies, they set up partnerships for their signature items which have seen many positive charitable efforts such as Neil Peart with DW, Sabian and ProMark, where one campaign raised over $60,000 for Child Advocates. Alex Lifeson donated royalties from his signature Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess guitar to the Domenic Troiano Foundation for guitar music scholarships.

The bandmembers also donated their time, funds and awareness through their personal interests and events. An avid baseball fan, Geddy Lee donated close to 400 baseballs signed by former Negro League baseball players from his personal collection to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City in 2008. Alex Lifeson is a supporter of Casey House as well as The Kidney Foundation to which he donates his paintings that led to almost $300,000 in funds raised. During the band's South American tour in 2010, Peart was moved by the rescue of the trapped miners in Chile. When he wrote a story about his experiences touring in South America, he rallied RUSH fans and his readers to make a $1 donation for his story. Neil matched their donations, and together they raised $10,000 for the Chilean Red Cross.

RUSH was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 1994, made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1996 and inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2010. They have received a star on both Canada's Walk of Fame (1999) and Hollywood Walk Of Fame (2010). RUSH received the highest artistic honor in Canada by winning the Governor General's Performing Arts Award in 2012 and was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013.

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of GUNS N' ROSES And DAVE GROHL Performing 'Paradise City' At BOTTLEROCK

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of GUNS N' ROSES And DAVE GROHL Performing 'Paradise City' At BOTTLEROCK

Professionally filmed video footage of GUNS N' ROSES performing the song "Paradise City" on September 4 at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival can be viewed below.

The Axl Rose-fronted outfit was joined for the final track of its two-and-a-hour set by special guest Dave Grohl of the FOO FIGHTERS.

According to San Francisco Chronicle's Datebook, the performance was cut short by festival promoters after GUNS N' ROSES bumped up against the festival's hard 10 p.m. curfew.

A wave of boos from the crowd could be heard as the musicians tried to complete the track, with GUNS N' ROSES and Grohl continuing to play through 10:03 p.m. Following the performance, singer Axl Rose threw his mike off stage, took a bow and walked off with the rest of the band trailing behind.

Located in a residential area, with houses that face the main stage, the curfew at the Napa Valley Expo was set when neighbors complained about the noise after BottleRock's inaugural year in 2013.

Previous artists who had broken BottleRock's curfew include Neil Young (in 2019), FOO FIGHTERS (in 2017) and THE CURE (in 2014).

BottleRock organizer Dave Graham said in a 2017 radio interview after cutting the FOO FIGHTERS' set short: "I was responsible for making sure that we ended at 10 and it pained me to have to do that. I would have happily paid a big fine to keep them playing. It's less about the money and it's more about the trust within the community and the credibility that our festival has within the community."

Prior to a partial reunion of GUNS N' ROSES' classic lineup in 2016, the band had a reputation for extreme tardiness but has since become unexpectedly punctual. Rose and his bandmates took the stage at about 7:30 p.m. at BottleRock.

Dubbed "We're F'N Back!", GUNS N' ROSES' current tour comes on the heels of the "Not In This Lifetime" run that began in April 2016 and became the No. 3 highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore.

As was the case with "Not In This Lifetime", the current GUNS N' ROSES tour features classic-lineup members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

The massive touring production will wrap up with two shows in Hollywood, Florida, at the Hard Rock Live Arena on October 2 and October 3.

On August 6, GUNS N' ROSES officially released a new song called "Absurd" across all digital music providers. The studio version of "Absurd" — which is a reworked version of a previously unreleased GN'R track called "Silkworms" — arrived three days after the band performed the tune live for the first time during its concert at Boston's Fenway Park.

The Poison Burger features Cooper's "Poison" Reaper Hot Sauce and jalapenos to give your tastebuds a spicy thrill. The new menu item is available nationwide at Rock & Brews restaurants (excluding airports, arenas, and casinos), who are throwing down the gauntlet, asking fans to come and take the #PoisonChallenge, finish the burger, and prove they are worthy by sharing their photos on their favorite social media outlets.

With Alice currently on tour September 17 through October 23, he might be seen at a Rock & Brews location having a Poison Burger himself.

"I DARE you to finish a Poison Burger. It's a great cheeseburger, and it's MY hot sauce on it and I could barely get through half of it before reaching for the antidote," explains Alice. "Unlike my guillotine, the Poison Burger doesn't pose any mortal danger, but it is NOT for the faint of heart. If this cheeseburger were around Salem in the 1600s, they would have burned the chefs as witches!"

In collaboration with Primary Wave Music and Hot Shots Distributing, Alice Cooper's Hot Sauce line features three different hot sauces based on his hit songs, "Welcome To My Nightmare", "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Poison". The intense heat of the "Poison" Reaper Hot Sauce will put you in Alice's straitjacket. Your senses will tell you to stop when you feel the Reaper chiles running through your veins with... Poison! NOTHING Shares New Single And Video "La La Means I Love You"

Today, Philadelphia's Nothing returns with a new single and accompanying video, "La La Means I Love You", from their upcoming deluxe album, The Great Dismal B-Sides, set to release on October 8 via Relapse Records.

The Delfonics cover is one of three new Nothing tracks recorded during the band's The Great Dismal sessions to be unearthed with the new release, including "The Great Dismal" and "Amber Gambler". The visual, directed by Dan Swindel & vocalist Domenic Palermo recalls the 70's as the band performs the track with glistening lights and kaleidoscopic effects layered onto each shot. The song is the second track to receive a visual from the deluxe album, following the release of "Amber Gambler" last month.

Speaking on the cover track, Palermo stated, "In the 80's my dad used to cruise around in Philly in this giant cherry red Lincoln he bought with who knows what money because we were broke. He would scoop me up on the occasional summer weekends after him and my mom divorced. I can remember climbing in and having to sit on my hands because the white vinyl seats would be burning hot from the sun. We’d cruise around the neighborhood with the windows down while he blasted Del, Stylistics, O Jay's, Teddy P... a lot of old soul and funk. I always loved the strings and harmonies that were on these records and they stuck with me. I find myself looking to integrate those kind of soundscapes with guitars when I’m recording for Nothing so this song seemed like it would be an almost lateral step for us, just obviously nowhere as cool."

APRIL WINE Legend MYLES GOODWYN Streaming New Song "Some Of These Children (They Never Grew Up)" Ahead Of New Album, Long Pants; Video

Multi-Platinum selling and award-winning Hall of Fame producer, songwriter, and artist, Myles Goodwyn, relays a sombre and striking statement on the residential school system in his new song, “Some Of These Children (They Never Grew Up)", available now.

“It’s a personal response by Jim Henman and I to the recent finding of unmarked graves of Indigenous children in Canada,” Goodwyn shares of his long-time collaborator, with whom he also started the iconic rock band, April Wine, with in 1969. “We felt like making a statement regarding the discovery of these graves, and this song is that statement.”

The song’s heart wrenching subject lands within an incredibly personal connection to the Halifax-based artist, he adds. “My life partner, Kim, is native Sioux Assiniboine, and her mother was a survivor of the ‘assimilation’ attempts by the Federal government and the Catholic Church to ‘remove the savage from the Indian.’ I have felt her pain as more and more bodies of these unfortunate children are discovered.”

“Some Of These Children (They Never Grew Up)” follows Goodwyn’s other recent offering, “Will the Last Voice I Hear Be an Angel”, his first-ever spiritual song, it captivates with thoughtful reflections around life lived, and mortality.

The songs arrive ahead of Goodwyn’s forthcoming recording project, Long Pants; a collection of his most personal songs to date, the new full-length is set to dive deep into the masterful musician’s extensive and previously unreleased archives, with one song’s origins even dating back 40 years.

“The ‘oldest’ new song on the album, ‘Forever Amber,’ was written four decades ago,” Goodwyn shares. “I wrote it for my daughter, Amber, on the very night she was born.

“Long Pants will also feature a song I’ve written for each of my three children,” he continues. “‘Talk to Me’ was written for my son, Aaron, and is about love, and the importance of communication between a child and their parents. And ‘Over the Moon’ was written when I learned my younger boy, Cary, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It’s a serious and chronic disease, and the song is one of love, understanding, optimism — which is an important message of hope and love to all children and parents dealing with diabetes.”

“Death To Life” is also a musical milestone for Artusha. “We still groove and thrash where it makes sense, but this song was an obvious sign of musical maturity and an expansion of our sonic range,” says bassist Brian Hase.

The concept behind Tigress: Women Who Rock The World is that Jim wanted to showcase women in music whom he admires. The seeds for the album were planted in late 2020 when Serafino Perugino, President and Head of A&R for Frontiers, reached out to Peterik to see if he wanted to start work on a new World Stage album. A light bulb went on in Jim's head and he said, "Ya know, Serafino, how about a Women's World Stage album?" They both loved the idea right off the bat and thus the initial steps for the album began.

Peterik has always loved a musical challenge and pursuing new ideas and the fresh idea for this album really inspired him. He made a wishlist of artists he wanted to work with and began crafting musical ideas that could work for their styles. In Jim's words, "I discovered that I needed to write songs that reflected the female perspective more than the male. It was gratifying when talented women from all over the world, heroes of mine such as Janet Gardner (ex-Vixen), Cathy Richardson (Jefferson Starship), Jennifer Batten, Mindi Abair, Kate French, Kimi Hayes, Chez Kane, Rosa Laricchiuta (Black Rose Maze, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), and so many others gave me the big thumbs up! Up-and-comers like Lindsay Kent, Leslie Hunt, Chloe Lowery, Marine Lacoste, and so many others all added their unique personalities to make this a landmark album in my career."

The full list of performers on the album can be seen in the tracklisting below.

"I hope you enjoy Tigress: Women Who Rock The World as much as I enjoyed creating it. Much love and Rock & Roll!" concludes Peterik.

Jim Peterik, through the years, has written or co-written some of rock's most memorable songs: "Vehicle" by the The Ides Of March (on which he was lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter), "Eye Of The Tiger," "The Search Is Over," "High On You," and "I Can't Hold Back”, hits for .38 Special such as "Hold On Loosely," "Caught Up In You," "Fantasy Girl," and "Rockin' Into The Night", "Heavy Metal" with Sammy Hagar, and many many more. Peterik, now a part of Pride of Lions with vocalist Toby Hitchcock, is one of the most esteemed and loved recording artists and songwriters, not only on the Frontiers label, but in the larger melodic rock community.

AEPHANEMER - Symphonic Melodic Death Metal Force Unleashes New Album Details, Posts Music Video For "Panta Rhei"

AEPHANEMER - Symphonic Melodic Death Metal Force Unleashes New Album Details, Posts Music Video For "Panta Rhei"

Following their 2019 album, Prokopton, November 19 will see Toulouse-based symphonic melodic death metal force, Aephanemer, return with their third and thunderous full-length record, A Dream Of Wilderness, via Napalm Records.

Starting out as an unbelievably successful DIY ride that suddenly turned towards international acclaim, the indisputable Aephanemer is one of the most exciting melodic death metal sensations of the modern age. Fast-paced metal fronted by the guttural growls and fierce screams of extraordinary vocalist Marion Bascoul meet flickering twin leads, elements of Scandinavian death metal, Slavic traditional music and epic synths. If Prokopton was a noteworthy, impressive sophomore album from one of Europe’s best up and coming melodic death metal bands yet, A Dream Of Wilderness sees the French four-piece doubling down on its songwriting skills: Faster, tighter and heavier, Aephanemer’s upcoming album unleashes an anthemic adventure of brutally fast riffage and epic melodies.

As today’s first single release proves, A Dream Of Wilderness promises to be an exciting and refreshing mixture of metallic elements that are both technically superior and emotively rousing. “Panta Rhei” showcases the band’s ability to combine blistering, speedy riffs with a thrilling symphonic sound that takes you on a journey right into a melodic death metal fairy tale.

Aephanemer says: "We are more than happy to finally unveil our new song and video: 'Panta Rhei'! We are very excited as it is the very first glimpse at our new album, A Dream of Wilderness, to be released on November 19, 2021 through Napalm Records! We hope you will like it!"

Watch the video for "Panta Rhei” below.

Aephanemer doesn’t seem to fear boundaries. Their new album delivers a wide metal range that represents a dark and gloomier yet no less powerful side of the band, while otherworldly dimensions of blast beats, furious riffage and heavy, razor-sharp death metal anthems will have you headbanging as fast as you can. Especially in this day and age of staying "true" and limited within a sound and scene, A Dream Of Wilderness is a welcome diversion and a brave record artfully blending brutally fast symphonic death and raw melodic metal into a multi-faceted epic!

The record was mixed by Dan Swanö at Unisound AB, and mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox Studios.

A Dream Of Wilderness will be available in North America in the following formats:

- CD Digipak
- Digital Album
- 1LP Gatefold Black
- 1LP Gatefold Black Die Hard Edition with album cover slipmat and

JOHN 5 On DAVE MUSTAINE's Guest Appearance In 'Qué Pasa' Song: 'It Was A Complete Honor'

JOHN 5 On DAVE MUSTAINE's Guest Appearance In 'Qué Pasa' Song: 'It Was A Complete Honor'

ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 will release his new solo album, "Sinner", on Friday, October 29 (just in time for Halloween) via Big Machine Records. The first single from the album, the epic "Qué Pasa", revolves around a distinctive vocal refrain. Originally built with a sample, John opted to have it reworked by Grammy-winning MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine.

Speaking to Detroit's WRIF radio station prior to ROB ZOMBIE's performance at yesterday's (Saturday, September 18) Riff Fest at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, John 5 stated about Mustaine's involvement with the track: "It was a complete honor. 'Cause there was a James Brown [sample] in there, and it's pretty hard to top James Brown. But Mustaine, it was just perfect 'cause he's got that growl, that voice. I mean, the delivery was epic, and I'm super excited and super honored to have him on the track."

"I love those instrumental songs with cool vocal hooks or it could be anything like that," he continued. "It just makes it so different and interesting. It just came together perfect. I'm super happy. When I played it for him, he was down with it. I'm really, really happy with it."

"Sinner" was produced and mixed by Barry Pointer at Riott House Studio in North Hollywood. Drums were engineered by ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke at Redrum Recording in Los Angeles. The LP also features a guest appearance by original KISS drummer Peter Criss on a cover of "Georgia On My Mind", a 1930s classic by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell that's become famous thanks to Ray Charles decades later.

John 5, whose real name is John William Lowery, told WRIF about Criss's contribution to the song: "Peter, of course, has played Gene Krupa, he's played the Buddy Rich, he's played that style his whole life. And so I said, 'Hey, man, I'm doing 'Georgia On My Mind'. And he was, like, 'I would love to.' It's just what he has done his whole life, played like that. So my producer, Barry Pointer, went to his house, and we set it up just like an old '40s kit — a couple of mikes, not miking every drum or anything. And I'm not exaggerating, he did two takes. And the first one was perfect. He was, like, 'Well, let's just do a second one, just for safety.' I mean, walking down the stairs took longer than his epic drum performance. It was incredible. And then there was some magic. Before the song, Peter is talking to Barry — he's talking about me and the song and all that stuff. And we caught that on the mikes. And we asked Peter if it was okay to start the song like that. And he said, 'Sure.' It's really neat. It's really great."

"Sinner" track listing:

01. Welcome To The Island

02. For I Have Sinned

03. Euphoria (feat. Carla Harvey)

04. Qué Pasa (feat. Dave Mustaine)

05. How High The Moon

06. Creepshow

07. Land Of The Misfit Toys

08. Crazy Little Thing Called Love

09. This Is How I Do It

10. Georgia On My Mind (feat. Peter Criss)

John 5 has worked with a varied range of artists, performing as guitarist for some of the biggest headlining rock bands in the world such as ROB ZOMBIE and MARILYN MANSON, as well as playing session with Paul Stanley, Rod Stewart, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and more. Slash has called John 5 "one of the most mind-blowing guitarists around," and Rob Zombie has dubbed him "a fucking shredder." John 5 has released nine solo albums to date, as well as a remix album, and has written music for the likes of Avril Lavigne, GARBAGE, Ricky Martin and others.

JOHN 5 AND THE CREATURES' latest album, "Invasion", was released in July 2019.

THE DOORS: 'Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition' Coming To Movie Theaters In November

THE DOORS: 'Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition' Coming To Movie Theaters In November

Trafalgar Releasing has announced that on November 4, in celebration of 50 years of THE DOORS' legendary album "L.A. Woman", "The Doors: Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition" will transform movie theaters worldwide into concert venues giving fans the closest experience to being there live alongside Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek. In addition to viewing the full concert film, this special event includes extras filmed exclusively for the big screen: a brand-new musical performance of Densmore and Krieger with special guests, plus a conversation with Densmore, Krieger and the band's manager, Jeff Jampol.

On July 5, 1968, THE DOORS lit up the storied stage of the Hollywood Bowl with a legendary performance that is widely considered to be the band's finest captured on film. Performing on the back of their third album release, "Waiting For The Sun", and the U.S. No. 1 single "Hello, I Love You", the quartet had been honing their live performances over the previous two years and were in absolute peak form.

This theatrical "Special Edition" release creates an in-cinema experience for fans like no other. The film has been remastered in stunning Dolby ATMOS (where available) and 5.1 surround sound by Bruce Botnick, the original engineer and mixer for THE DOORS, who recorded the live performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1968 and co-produced "L.A. Woman". "The Doors: Live At The Bowl '68 Special Edition" features the concert in its entirety, including "Hello, I Love You", "The WASP (Texas Radio And The Big Beat)", "Light My Fire", "The End" and more. Krieger stated: "The magic that has been done to enhance the picture and sound quality of this show will make everyone feel as though they have a front-row seat at the Hollywood Bowl."

"We are thrilled to bring fans of THE DOORS together in cinemas worldwide to share in a much-needed concert experience," said Kymberli Frueh, SVP of programming and content acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing. "The 50-year celebration of 'L.A. Woman' was a perfect opportunity to capture a brand-new performance with current band members, reminisce on that era, and share memories from the legendary concert."

The event will be screened in cinemas around the world for one night only on November 4, 2021. Public tickets are on sale beginning on September 21 at TheDoorsFilm.com where fans can find the most up-to-date information regarding participating theaters and sign up for event alerts.

Rhino will also celebrate THE DOORS this fall with the release of "L.A. Woman (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)" on December 3. The 3-CD/1-LP set expands the band's legendary sixth and last studio album with more than two hours of newly remixed audio, taken from the original multitrack session tapes, by "L.A. Woman" album producer and engineer Bruce Botnick.

QUEEN: Four New NFT Artworks Celebrating FREDDIE MERCURY's 75th Birthday To Be Made Available

QUEEN: Four New NFT Artworks Celebrating FREDDIE MERCURY's 75th Birthday To Be Made Available

SuperRare, the leading digital art marketplace, and The Mercury Phoenix Trust have announced the release of four new 1 of 1 NFT artworks inspired by the late frontman of the legendary band QUEEN to celebrate his 75th birthday. NFT works by artists Blake Kathryn, Chad Knight, Mat Maitland and MBSJQ will be offered beginning on September 20, with proceeds benefiting The Mercury Phoenix Trust, the non-profit founded in Freddie's memory to help fight AIDS worldwide.

The collection has been curated by Six Agency. Georgio Constantinou, co-founder, comments: "Six was honored to curate an incredible collection of artists to celebrate the life and impact of Freddie Mercury. After meeting with The Mercury Phoenix Trust, we knew that if Freddie were alive today, he would be excited about the creative potential of the NFT space."

As well as inspiring countless generations through his flamboyant persona, four-octave vocal range and timeless song writing, Freddie Mercury was well known for his love of all forms of art. Before embarking on his musical career, he attained a degree in graphic art and design (in 1969) and later in life became an avid collector of classical and contemporary art and glass works. In addition, he was recognized as having what experts considered one of the finest collections of Japanese antique woodblock prints.

Freddie Mercury left a very simple creative brief to the world on his passing: "You can do whatever you want with my work, just never make me boring." This simple brief was given to four digital artists as the inspiration for each to create NFT artworks inspired by different aspects of Freddie's beloved persona. The resulting collection takes Freddie's legacy to the cutting edge of artistic activity... and thus never boring.

The four NFTs will be available exclusively as a timed auction via SuperRare on September 20 8:00 a.m. PDT / 12 p.m. EDT for 75 hours.
