The fantasy and occult lyrics are allegorical and deal with deep personal issues of depression, anger, frustration, abandonment, sadness and alienation. Devil Cross has teamed up with French fantasy painter Didier Normand who created some great cover art in the tradition of Frazetta or Vallejo. This Mortal Coil is a collection of honest classic heavy metal songs from the heart, created in the darkest dungeons for true maniacs of the genre.

EXISTENTIA Release "Planned Obsolescence" Lyric Video

EXISTENTIA Release "Planned Obsolescence" Lyric Video

American death metal trio Existentia have released a lyric video for "Planned Obsolescence". The song is taken from their recently released EP, Calculating Failure, which was issued via Stumpgrinder Records.

The band comments: "Planned Obsolescence: Society shapes us to run a short course with our lives. It sucks your resources making you a slave to bullshit and then kills you off. For some, this could be signing up for the military and not realizing you're just a 'cog in this killing machine.' Once you serve your time, you're tossed to the streets to fend for yourself. Becoming outdated, obsolete, and no longer needed."

mode: 'alternating-rec-reel-3n4-a',
container: 'taboola-mid-article-thumbnails',

});

Comprised of former members of prominent Northeast metal outfits (Polemecist, Young Graves), the eclectic background forms an integral aspect of Existentia's sound. Drawing on inspiration from these projects, influences can be heard in the musical arrangement and lyrical content.

Existentia not only seek to explore the hidden depths with their composition but to push extreme tonalities to the edge with radical experimentation. Demonstrating such an immense display of musical manipulation in their debut release, it’s clear Existentia are striving to make an impact.

Dagger Records To Release JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: Paris 67 For Record Store Day

Dagger Records To Release JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: Paris 67 For Record Store Day

Dagger Records will release Jimi Hendrix Experience: Paris 67 for Record Store Day (November 26, 2021). This 150-gram red-and-blue colored vinyl LP presents the original Jimi Hendrix Experience lineup—Hendrix, bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell in peak form at the famed Olympia Theater in Paris, France on October 9, 1967.

Jimi Hendrix Experience: Paris 67 is the newest edition to a unique line of “special edition” Dagger Records titles produced exclusively for Record Store Day to celebrate and support the thriving legacy of independent music retailers. As with other Record Store Day titles, Paris 67 will only be available in independent record stores beginning November 26.

This live recording documents Hendrix’s triumphant return to Paris almost one year to the date of their 1966 showcase as a burgeoning support act for Johnny Hallyday.

Now in place of Hallyday’s audience were more than 14,000 screaming Jimi Hendrix Experience admirers. In his own inimitable fashion, Hendrix graciously acknowledged his audience for their early support. “Thank you very much for last year, for letting us play here,” prefaced Hendrix before starting “The Wind Cries Mary”. “Instead of booing us off the stage you gave us a chance, so thank you very much.”

These recordings capture the verve and exuberant spirit displayed by the group. Jimi kicks off the perf

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single / Lyric Video "Figures On The Sand"; Two Song EP Available

Finland's POST PULSE Release New Single / Lyric Video "Figures On The Sand"; Two Song EP Available

As the world experiences an extreme level of death and pain, Helsinki-based Post Pulse, signed to Inverse Records, has written an anthem about those lost and what it's like to deal with that loss.

"Figures On The Sand" is an epic track that combines the elements of doom, punk, and death metal in a way that is a signature sound of Post Pulse. The lyrics are about pain, loss, and dealing with death in a sincere and human way. While Post Pulse doesn't shy away from producing emotional music, "Figures On The Sand" is by far the most emotionally intense song in their repertoire so far.

"Scorching The Sky" takes a broader view of the world, our times, and the speed at which we seem to be extinguishing humanity. We know that human life has a time limit in the lifespan of our universe. This song shares our feeling about how humans seem to want to accelerate our extinction. The music is much more upbeat and aggressive, with a few progressive elements used tastefully throughout the track.

With titles like "Figures On The Sand" and "Scorching The Sky", it only made sense to guitarist Antti Karhu to create an EP cover with an earthy feel. Compared with some other Post Pulse cover artwork, this straightforward image speaks perfectly to the feeli

Watch METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT Unbox 'Black Album' 'Pop! Albums' Figure From FUNKO

Watch METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT Unbox 'Black Album' 'Pop! Albums' Figure From FUNKO

Funko and Walmart have teamed up to get in on the METALLICA "Black Album" celebration with a new-edition "Metallica" Pop! Albums figure. A new one-and-a-half-minute video in which METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett unboxes the product can be seen below.

"Hi, this is Kirk from METALLICA," he says at the beginning of the clip. "This wonderful box showed up today from Funko. I wonder what's inside." As he unboxes it, Hammett continues: "How cool is this? It's the new Funko Pop! deluxe album featuring METALLICA's 'Black Album.' How cool is that? Oh wow. They have us as the negatives just like the back of the album. And then they have an actual album in the background but that doesn't look like an album that plays. But how cool is this?"

You can pre-order the "Metallica" Pop! Albums figure now at Walmart.com. It is expected to ship in December.

Funko's Pop! Albums line is features music albums featuring the album itself, using the Pop! figure. The box is oversized and contains a standard Pop! to recreate the primary image on the cover. In addition, the background of the box adds a replica of the album cover to complete the look.

Previous classic LPs which have gotten the Pop! Albums treatment include AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" and MOTÖRHEAD's "Ace Of Spades".

The Black Album is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed records of all time. Its 1991 release not only gave METALLICA its first No. 1 album in no fewer than 10 countries, including a four-week run at No. 1 in the U.S., its unrelenting series of singles — "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam" and "Sad But True" — fueled the band's rise to stadium headlining, radio and MTV dominating household name status. The album's reception from the press was similarly charged, building over the years from the top 10 of the 1991 Village Voice Pazz & Jop national critics poll to becoming a constant presence in the likes of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. The album's impact and relevance continue to grow — as proven by one indisputable fact: The Black Album remains unchallenged as the best-selling album in the history of Nielsen SoundScan, outselling every release in every genre over the past 30 years.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the Grammy-winning, 16-times-platinum-certified Black Album received its definitive re-release on September 10 via the band's own Blackened Recordings.

Headquartered in Everett, Washington, Funko is a leading pop culture consumer products company. Funko designs, sources and distributes licensed pop culture products across multiple categories, including vinyl figures, toys, plush, apparel, board games, housewares and accessories for consumers who seek tangible ways to connect with their favorite pop culture brands and characters.

VENDED Feat. COREY TAYLOR's And SHAWN CRAHAN's Sons: Video Of KNOTFEST IOWA Performance

VENDED Feat. COREY TAYLOR's And SHAWN CRAHAN's Sons: Video Of KNOTFEST IOWA Performance

VENDED, the band fronted by Griffin Taylor, the son of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor, performed at Knotfest Iowa this past Saturday (September 25) at the National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, Iowa. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.

Last week, VENDED released its debut single, "Asylum". The track is powered by the pummelling rhythm section of Simon Crahan (son of SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan) and Jeremiah Pugh (bass), the ferocious guitar work of Cole Espeland (lead guitar) and Connor Grodzicki (rhythm guitar).

VENDED will also open the bill at Knotfest Los Angeles in early November.

VENDED's fresh and unique sound heralds in a new era and the arrival of the next generation of brutality to hail from Des Moines, Iowa. Formed in February of 2018, VENDED exhibits a furiously heavy sound built upon the foundations laid by the speed, power and precision of the rhythm section, layered with ferocious guitars, soul crushing solos and gutteral-yet-melodic vocals that portray the hardships and the harsh realities of life.

VENDED had its first mainstream exposure in 2020 when they performed as part of Knotfest.com's virtual "Pulse Of The Maggots" festival. Their live performance, filmed at The Electric Theatre, has clocked up over 100,000 views on YouTube and garnered the band a swathe of new fans from around the world, eager to hear more from the five-piece.

VENDED played its first headlining show in March 2020 at the iconic local club Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, Iowa.

Griffin, who looks a lot like his father, previously showcased his skills when he joined Corey onstage during STONE SOUR shows in 2017 and 2018. According to The Pulse Of Radio, he's also played cover tunes with Simon Crahan, while Clown's daughter Alexandria Crahan-Conway has snapped some of VENDED's previous press pics.

Former EXODUS Frontman ROB DUKES Drops New GENERATION KILL Song 'Into The Black'

Former EXODUS Frontman ROB DUKES Drops New GENERATION KILL Song 'Into The Black'

GENERATION KILL, the band featuring former EXODUS frontman Rob Dukes, has released the official music video for a new song called "Into The Black". The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "MKUltra", to be relased via Blood Blast Distribution.

Dukes commented: "The story 'Eight O'Clock In The Morning' by Ray Nelson inspired the lyrics, and I watched a doc on 'They Live' which took me down the rabbit hole of short stories and books so I took the idea and ran with it. The G KILL boys gave me a barn burner with a really cool ending to work with. Shooting the video was good fun. We had a blast hanging together and doing this. Hunter Chapman did a killer job and the bugs and heat didn't deter us from having a blast."

GENERATION KILL was formed by Dukes in New York City in 2008. Rob, on hiatus from touring with EXODUS, wanted to funnel his excess creative energy and aggression into something new. After the inclusion of Jason Trenczer, Lou Lehman and Sam Inzerra, the band began writing and recording its first album, "Red, White, & Blood", featuring several singles, including "Feast For The Wolves" and "Hate" as well as a cover of the NINE INCH NAILS track "Wish" which enjoyed heavy radio rotation.

Due to creative differences with Inzerra and the untimely death of guitarist Lou Lehman, Jay Velez and Jim DeMaria (HEATHEN) joined and began recording GENERATION KILL's sophomore album, "We're All Gonna Die", with renowned producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (ROB ZOMBIE, HATEBREED). Shortly after its release, the band embarked on a European tour with fellow EXODUS member Lee Altus's band HEATHEN. The album spawned several successful singles, including "Prophets Of War" which went to No. 1 on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's "Dirty Dozen" and remained one of the top requested songs on the channel.

Following the success of "We're All Gonna Die", drummer Rob Youells joined GENERATION KILL and they went into the studio, this time with ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal to record an album with a founding member of RUN-D.M.C., Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels. The project was initially titled DMC GENERATION KILL before becoming its own entity, later renamed FRAGILE MORTALS.

Currently, GENERATION KILL is recording "MK-Ultra", teaming up once again with Zeuss, Youells returning on the drums and with a new member, Max Velez, on bass.

OZZY OSBOURNE To Release Special 10" Black Vinyl Single Of 'Hellraiser'

OZZY OSBOURNE To Release Special 10" Black Vinyl Single Of 'Hellraiser'

Earlier this week, it was announced that a never-before-released interpretation of "Hellraiser" — with a mash-up of vocals by Ozzy Osbourne and the song's co-writer, longtime friend and colleague Lemmy Kilmister of MOTÖRHEAD — was added to the digital 30th anniversary release of Ozzy's classic album "No More Tears", out today (September 17) via Sony. Now comes news that this new updated version of "Hellraiser" will be issued as a stand-alone release on Ozzy's birthday, December 3. The special 10-inch black vinyl single features three versions of the song, which was co-written by Ozzy, Lemmy and Ozzy's longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde. In addition to the new "Hellraiser" mash-up — which was remixed by Rob Kinelski — the 10-inch will include the classic original Ozzy track with MOTÖRHEAD's version of the same song as the B-side. It is available for pre-order today.

"Hellraiser" originally appeared on "No More Tears"; MOTÖRHEAD then recorded their own version and released it as a single from their 1992 "March Ör Die" album. "Hellraiser" was one of four songs from "No More Tears" co-written by Ozzy with Lemmy; the others are "Mama, I'm Coming Home", "Desire" and "I Don't Want To Change The World".

In honor of today's release of "No More Tears", SiriusXM Ozzy's Boneyard channel will feature a weekend long celebration of the album. Hear songs and insight from Ozzy and Zakk, every hour Friday-Monday beginning September 17 at 8:00 a.m. You can also listen on SiriusXM app by searching "No More Tears".

The digital 30th anniversary release of Ozzy's classic album "No More Tears" — his sixth solo album that went Top 10 (#7) and was certified quadruple platinum — will also be highlighted with two special editions: a 2LP black vinyl version and a special yellow and red 2LP vinyl version with a specially created booklet (exclusively at www.towerrecords.com). Both configurations will be released simultaneously with the digital version.

In its release, "No More Tears" yielded four top ten singles on the Billboard Rock Tracks chart, "Mama, I'm Coming Home" (#2), "Road To Nowhere" (#3), "Time After Time" (#6) and the title track (#10). In addition, the album's "I Don't Want To Change The World" earned Ozzy his first Grammy for a live version of the track that was featured on his 1993 "Live And Loud" album. The album has remained an Ozzy classic, earning a spot (#22) on Loudwire's "Top 90 Hard Rock + Metal Albums of the '90s" with Ultimate Classic Rock including "No More Tears" on their list "Top 100 '90s Rock Albums."

The 10" black vinyl single of "Hellraiser" track listing is as follows:

Side A

"Hellraiser" mashup (2021 - 30th anniversary edition)

Side B

"Hellraiser" - Ozzy Osbourne (1991)

"Hellraiser" - MOTÖRHEAD (1992)

KING'S X Frontman DOUG 'DUG' PINNICK Releases Music Video For 'Key Changer' From Solo Album 'Joy Bomb'

KING'S X Frontman DOUG 'DUG' PINNICK Releases Music Video For 'Key Changer' From Solo Album 'Joy Bomb'

KING'S X frontman Doug "dUg" Pinnick will release his fifth solo album, "Joy Bomb", on October 15 via Rat Pak Records. Pinnick's first solo album of new material since 2013's "Naked" features thirteen brand new tracks, including "Key Changer", the official music video for which can be seen below. In the clip, Doug rocks out on both bass and guitar, dances with robots, and cheers on street performers in a lighthearted visual that will be sure to invoke a smile. Sometimes, you just need to "turn up your stereo" and "let the music hit the spot."

"The idea of this video was just to have fun and be goofy," Doug says. "Hopefully it will brighten everyone's day."

From the charging rhythms of album opener "Jon Boy" all the way through the barnstorming closing track "Making Sense Of The Bones", Doug proves that age is nothing to him and provides an album packed with the groove, swagger, and soul that he has honed and perfected over his extensive career. Doug's ability to combine a multitude of his influences into one seamless offering is on full display, tapping into everyone from RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to Sly Stone to BLACK SABBATH. "A Long Way From Home", "Like A Wolf" and "The Poison" show why Doug is still one of the best in metal and rock, while "I Can't Fight This Feeling", "Social Distancing" and "Long Live Love" exemplify his ability to think outside the box and expand his range.

"'Joy Bomb' is a collection of tunes I've been writing for the last two years," Doug says. "The pandemic has made me go deeper into myself and how to deal with everything and everyone in a new way. These songs are all about truth the way I see it, and I'm thankful that at 71 I can still make music that hopefully matters. 'Joy Bomb' is my latest offer."

Pinnick is known first and foremost as the soulful singer and bassist for hard rockers KING'S X. Throughout the band's lengthy and legendary career, KING'S X released twelve albums and influenced the likes of PEARL JAM, SOUNDGARDEN, DREAM THEATER, PANTERA, and many more. Throughout the early 21st century, Pinnick remained the "go-to singer" of rock — as evidenced by his appearance on recordings by first-rate rockers including Jeff Ament, Eric Gales, George Lynch, Ray Luzier, and many more. Doug has issued other solo albums under his own name, including 2005's "Emotional Animal", 2006's "Songs From The Closet", 2007's "Strum Sum Up", and 2013's "Naked".

DEFORMATORY – New Video “Deciphering The Archetype” Streaming

DEFORMATORY – New Video “Deciphering The Archetype” Streaming

Deformatory originally started in 2009, but over time new members joined the ranks, and the original idea and songwriting evolved into what it is today helmed by Charlie Leduc (Guitars & Vocals) and Neil Grandy (Drums). This was the fertile soil to create a blend of death metal that was atypical and so it has continued to be. The new album, the band's third full-length, Inversion Of The Unseen Horizon explores the origins of an alien race The Ce’naxors.

This concept album is nine, blistering, brutal tracks that continue where Deformatory’s 2016 album Malediction left off. The band explains the album and the single “Deciphering The Archetype” in their own words:

“The album tells us of how the Ce’naxors began and the ominous landscape of their home planet, Cyru’xil, revealing their Arkitekt’s grand scheme for multiversal decimation and atomical Consumption. The Unseen Horizon is their planet, their beings and their plan. The Inversion intimates it coming into view, from an otherwise hidden perspective. Through the single, witness the first glimpses of Xuul ‘Ka as it breaches the atmosphere, causing a whirlwind of meteorological events. Through the portal, the clouds dissipate, and Cyru’xil comes into view, along with the Grand Arkitekt, and the Cenaxors.”

Fans that are itching for more after this full-length won’t have too long to wait. Deformatory says they are already four songs deep into the new album, so listeners can expect more brutality sooner than they would hope for.

Inversion Of The Unseen Horizon was released on September 3. Order on Bandcamp.

EXODUS's STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA: 'I'll Be Like LEMMY; I'll Die Three Months After My Last Show'

EXODUS's STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA: 'I'll Be Like LEMMY; I'll Die Three Months After My Last Show'

In a new interview with The Rockpit, EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza was asked what keeps him and his bandmates going more than 40 years into the group's career. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Why does [SAXON's] Biff [Byford] keep doing it? Why does [JUDAS PRIEST's] Rob [Halford] keep doing it? Why does [IRON MAIDEN's] Bruce [Dickinson] and Steve Harris keep doing it? [MEGADETH's] Dave Mustaine… [METALLICA's] James Hetfield. They've got more money than God. You think they would have to do it again?

"I love it. I love doing it. I fucking love playing music," he explained. "It wasn't something that, like, 'Oh, man, I'm cool. When I was a kid, I got to be kind of a rock star for a couple of years. Now I'm a family man. I'm not really into that anymore.'

"It's never left my heart. It never will leave my heart. I'll be like fucking Lemmy — I'll die three months after my last show. That's just the way it'll be. I don't care. I'm going for it full-on."

Souza went on to say that most of EXODUS's counterparts have delivered the goods on their recent albums.

"I think for our genre of music, for the most part, I think thrash metal, out of all of the subgenres of metal, I think that one stays true," he said. "I love [MEGADETH] 'Dystopia', I love [ANTHRAX's] 'For All Kings', [DEATH ANGEL's] 'Humanicide' is great. TESTAMENT doesn't put out anything that sucks. We don't put out anything that sucks. OVERKILL doesn't put out anything that sucks. KREATOR doesn't put out anything [that sucks]. DESTRUCTION… Go down the genre. Thrash metal doesn't cheat you; it never has.

"I'll say this: look at [JUDAS PRIEST's] 'Firepower'; that record's fucking awesome," he continued. "It's fucking killer. And [IRON MAIDEN's] 'Senjutsu'. I mean, c'mon — MAIDEN always fucking brings it, man; they always bring it. So I feel that us — and I've heard this term before; I'm not labeling that — but the iconic bands will always bring it. SAXON too; I love everything they do. I just do. ACCEPT — all that shit. I love it. It's what drives me.

"This is what we are and what we do. This is what we know."

EXODUS's new album, "Persona Non Grata", is scheduled for release on November 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. "Persona Non Grata" is the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

"Persona Non Grata" was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap. For the third time in the band's history, they returned to Swedish artist Pär Olofsson to create the album artwork.

In July, EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting underwent a successful total gastrectomy in his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach.

Last month, EXODUS tapped John Tempesta to play drums for the band at Psycho Las Vegas on August 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada and at Full Terror Assault on September 11 at Hogrock Campground in Cave In Rock, Illinois — while Hunting is recovering from surgery. Tempesta was a member of EXODUS from 1989 until 1993 and played on the band's albums "Impact Is Imminent" (1990) and "Force Of Habit" (1992).

TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Defends KK'S PRIEST's 'Cheesy' Lyrics: 'Cheese Got Me Nominated For A GRAMMY'

TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Defends KK'S PRIEST's 'Cheesy' Lyrics: 'Cheese Got Me Nominated For A GRAMMY'

In a new interview with Couch Riffs, former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens discussed the "cheesiness" factor that is present in much of the lyrical content in heavy metal, including in his new band KK'S PRIEST in which he is joined by fellow ex-PRIEST member K.K. Downing.

"Sometimes I'll go, 'Ah, God. I've gotta sing that' or 'I've gotta do that.' But you have to add that to it because you still have those people and we still listen to that stuff and we still do it," he explained (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "JUDAS PRIEST, you look at that band, and not everybody in the band is in their 70s now, but there's 70-something-year-old grown men up there in those leather outfits. And some people go, 'Oh my God.' Well, but that's JUDAS PRIEST.

"You know what, though? Cheesiness, it doesn't bother me because cheese got me nominated for a Grammy and pays my bills," he continued. "But it's not a bad cheesy. I mean, all music is. You look at rap music, and how cheesy is that, in their way, where they're throwing money around and they're wearing these outfits.

"What I said about heavy metal, which is cool, we can write about anything. Sometimes it's cheesy.

"The weirdest thing is we got attacked for KK'S [PRIEST] stuff: '[The song] 'Brothers Of The Road', that's cheesy. That's so cheesy. Cliché, terrible lyrics.' I'm, like, how is it terrible lyrics? It's about brothers on the road who are rocking.

"I write a lot of 'normal life' songs — I write [about] what's going on in the world, what's going on in my life, what's going on in somebody's life. I tend to lean more towards that. But then I'll always throw in songs about a vampire or a zombie or an alien.

"Listen, writing about dungeons and dragons is cheesy to me; writing about brothers of the road isn't cheesy," Tim added. "But everybody looks at it different, and that's kind of it. But I look at all these musical genres, and there's cheesiness in all of it. It's just what it is.

"Listen I record a lot of songs now. When COVID hit, that's how I made my living. I got really lucky. All of a sudden, I started recording songs for people all over the world every day in my studio at the house, and some of 'em can't get any cheesier. I mean, some of 'em are just as cheesy as they come. Some of 'em talk about sex and taking the women. And I'm, like, 'Oh my God. I'm 54 years old, and I'm talking about taking some girl home to my room, and we're gonna do it.' I'm, like, 'Oh…' I remember going to my girlfriend and going, 'Check these lyrics out.' But I'm, like, 'Well, they're gonna pay me to do it, so I'm gonna do it.'"

Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 after being discovered when the band's drummer, Scott Travis, was given a videotape of him performing with the PRIEST cover act BRITISH STEEL. JUDAS PRIEST at the time was seeking a replacement for Rob Halford. He recorded two studio albums with the band — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before PRIEST reunited with Halford in 2003.

KK'S PRIEST also includes guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE), bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX) and drummer Sean Elg (DEATHRIDERS, CAGE).

KK'S PRIEST's debut album, "Sermons Of The Sinner", will be released on October 1 via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records.

JAMES LOMENZO Looks Back On WHITE LION With “Gratitude And A Weird Kind Of Remorse”

JAMES LOMENZO Looks Back On WHITE LION With “Gratitude And A Weird Kind Of Remorse”

Speaking to Melodic.net, Megadeth bassist James Lomenzo talked about his earliest days playing bass, his time with White Lion, and how he got back to playing with Megadeth after their split with David Ellefson.

Reflecting on White Lion and the success the band achieved, Lomenzo says he looks back on the band “With gratitude and a weird kind of remorse. We were so lucky to have been so successful. It all happened pretty quickly. I’m sure looking back, a big reason we did so well was because of all the MTV exposure. Sure, I think we were a great band, but there were a lot of great bands back then who, for whatever reason, never got the same exposure that we did. I do believe that we were the right kind of band for that time, both visually and musically, and we were pretty good live. I also thought that our music was really very accessible and tuneful. Yeah, so looking back at it, it was just an amazing experience that I feel privileged to have been a part of.”

Lomenzo was also asked why he and dr

MIKE PORTNOY Understands Bands' Reluctance To Tour During Pandemic: 'Is It Worth The Risk?'

MIKE PORTNOY Understands Bands' Reluctance To Tour During Pandemic: 'Is It Worth The Risk?'

During an interview with TWISTED SISTER bassist Mark "The Animal" Mendoza's Internet show "22 Now", former DREAM THEATER and current THE WINERY DOGS drummer Mike Portnoy spoke about the prospect of going back on the road while the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Honestly, I don't know how I feel about it. I understand the wanting to go out. I had a tour with the NEAL MORSE BAND that was scheduled to begin next month. We ended up having to pull the plug and push it into next year, just because we're seeing all of these other tours coming down and people getting COVID out there, even if they're vaccinated. One guy gets it, and then the show comes down. You watch KISS just firing up their tour, two or three shows in, and then Paul [Stanley] gets it and they have to sit in a hotel for a week. And then they're just getting ready to go again, then Gene [Simmons] gets it. Just the idea of having to quarantine in a hotel for a week or two, putting everybody, the crew and the gear and the trucks and everything on hold and the venues, it's scary. And I understand the hesitation to go back out. 'Cause with the NEAL MORSE BAND, we just made that call. We had to look at the situation and say, 'Look, we really wanna play. We're dying to get out there. But is it worth the risk, both in terms of health and in terms of financial?', to be honest, as well… You've gotta put everybody in hotels for a week, you've gotta [pay for] the crew and the trucks and the gear… And you're losing the show guarantees; you're losing all that income…

"I know we wanna play, but we've gotta be safe too," he explained. "It's a tough call to make… It hurt for us to cancel this MORSE BAND tour, but we said to each other, 'Look, first of all, if we have to cancel some shows and sit in hotel rooms, are we willing to be personally liable for that financially?' And everyone was, like, 'Well, no. Not really.' Nobody wants to be stuck holding the bag. So we said if there was any single bandmember that is uncomfortable being out there and going to do it; we're not gonna make anybody do something they're not comfortable doing. So unless it was unanimous, we said if any one person is not ready to go back out there and take those risks, let's just wait."

A number of hard rock and heavy metal artists have canceled shows or whole tours as the concert industry is rethinking its approach to live shows while the delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading nationwide.

Last month, Live Nation Entertainment, one of the country's largest concert and ticketing companies, announced that it will require all artists and concertgoers to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test starting in early October.

Live Nation's announcement came one day after AEG Presents said that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theaters and festivals. The decision was made on the heels of the dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases as the delta variant spreads throughout the United States.

While vaccines are exceptionally effective in preventing death and severe illness from the coronavirus and its known variants, some are far from foolproof in preventing infection altogether.

Most of the people with so-called "breakthrough" infections are asymptomatic.

According to Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), large-scale clinical studies found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting COVID-19. Research also provides growing evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) offer similar protection in real-world conditions. While these vaccines are effective, no vaccine prevents illness 100% of the time. For any vaccine, there are breakthrough cases.

WOLFTOOTH To Release Blood & Iron Album In December; "The Voyage" Music Video Streaming

WOLFTOOTH To Release Blood & Iron Album In December; "The Voyage" Music Video Streaming

Richmond, Indiana’s Wolftooth launched onto the scene in 2017, swiftly grabbing the attention of fans, tastemakers and industry alike. Now, building upon the subterranean success of their lauded previous albums (2018’s Wolftooth and 2020’s Valhalla), the band unveils their colossal full-length Napalm Records debut, Blood & Iron, out December 3.

Offering an immense slab of proto-metal influenced heaviness with a deep dose of doom essence and addictive stoner riffage, Blood & Iron isn’t just epic in sound, but at heart. The album travels through a treasure trove of fantasy-themed lyrical influences - exploring mystical and often treacherous themes of mythology, lore and legend with a focus on sorcery, battle and non-stop adventure. Recorded, mixed and mastered by producer Jeremy Lovins, Blood & Iron is a true nod to classic, feel-good American heavy metal with modernized flair.

Today, listeners can get a first taste of Blood & Iron with victorious first single “The Voyage”, accompanied by a brand new music video filmed in Indianapolis, Indiana by Mike Yonts. Fists will be pumping within the first few notes as the track triumphantly gallops forth with chugging riffs, soaring vocals, piercing basslines and powerful melodies.

Wolftooth says about “The Voyage” and its music video: “The concept of ‘The Voyage’ was initially about Marco Polo's voyage on the Silk Road, but we adapted it to our voyage through our musical careers from young children to now. The boys in the video represent us as kids in the beginning of our voyage, daydreaming about where we are now. All in all, the song is based on the idea of what it takes to reach your destination – the sacrifices, pitfalls, and ultimately the rewards that come along when striving for your goals.”

Watch the official music video for “The Voyage” below.

If you enjoy your metal homegrown, larger-than-life and with a weighty dose of mystical storytelling, Wolftooth’s Blood & Iron is your newest obsession.

Blood & Iron begins ominously with “Ahab” - beckoning the listener to join Wolftooth’s fabled trek with an isolated guitar introduction before bursting into a sticky, metallic blues jam, instantly echoing the likes of Black Sabbath to Pallbearer while maintaining fresh delivery. The track effectively poises the album for greatness before leading into two tales of historic prevalence backed by trudging riffage - Xerces epic “Hellespont”, and mythical ode to triumphant Irish warrior Cú Chulainn, “Blood & Iron”. The tracks ebb and flow amid melodic solos, sludgy rhythms and charging drums, evident on songs like galloping, thrash-injected assault “Broken Sword” and headbang-inducing, lead-laden “A King’s Land”. Wolftooth continue their immense sonic storytelling with soaring saga “The Voyage” and frigid ballad “Winter White” before closing out the nine enormous tunes on Blood & Iron with two of its most standout offerings – cohesive and rhythmically-enticing “Garden Of Hesperides” and driving final epic “The Mare” - depicting stories of 100-headed dragons, witches, dark horses and mind control. What more could a true metalhead ask for?

Wolftooth adds about the album: "Blood & Iron is the culmination of all the work that we as a band have put into forging our sound over the last four years. Musically, we feel that we've honed what works well for us while expanding on what was already there. This album represents a more mature direction, relying on classic heavy metal influence with a strong nod to our proto-metal roots. Lyrically, the album focuses on kings, battle, conquest and myth. These elements together coalesce into a riff-laden slab of heavy metal that we are all proud of."

Blood & Iron will be available in the following formats:

- CD Digipack
- 1LP Gatefold Black
- 1LP Gatefold Gold Die Hard Edition w/ album cover slipmat and logo patch (Napalm Mailorder only – limited to 100)

FEUERSCHWANZ Release "Untot im Drachenboot" Single And Music Video

FEUERSCHWANZ Release "Untot im Drachenboot" Single And Music Video

Feuerschwanz recently announced their new studio album, Memento Mori, out on December 31 via Napalm Records. Now, with their first single, "Untot im Drachenboot", the pioneers of the German folk rock scene herald a triumphant overseas voyage into another legendary Feuerschwanz saga.

With echoing screams, "Untot im Drachenboot" calls a mighty army aboard a monstrous Viking ship. Wild guitar riffs and rousing violin solos put wind into the sails, while captain Feuerschwanz keeps hold of his crew with strong vocal power and deep growls. Filmed on a real Viking ship, Feuerschwanz literally set sail in the video for "Untot im Drachenboot" and deliver another glorious anthem. The Franconians once again deliver a very strong music video, which offers a first taste of the upcoming album, Memento Mori.

Feuerschwanz on the new song: "'Untot im Drachenboot' - Pirates of the Caribbean meets Vikings! Ancient Icelandic sagas tell the story of undead fighters, called Draugr, appearing from nowhere to roam and plunder the land. Now our captain is also cursed to eternal capture and gathers an army of undead warriors around him. Ready to fight for our future caper voyages, we want to board the stages of this world again as soon as possible with the wild hordes of our fans - and provide you with the matching soundtrack! Hoist the sails and join our army!"

Memento Mori, the follow-up to the successful album Das Elfte Gebot (#3 German charts), sings about great adventures, past battles and outstanding heroic deeds in typicalFeuerschwanz fashion. Feuerschwanz manage to stay true to their trademarks, and at the same time, venture musically into new realms.

Feuerschwanz on the new album: “You take nothing with you to your grave, except your coffin... Memento Mori is the direct successor to Die Letzte Schlacht! The world of Hauptmann Feuerschwanz is in flames, overrun by the living dead and scourged by religious zealots... All of this sounds frighteningly real, even in Anno Domini 2021, so it's time to defy the storm once again and celebrate life. Let's live here, let's live now - until death sharpens his knife!”

As a special highlight, some versions of Memento Mori will feature a bonus CD with seven cover songs by Manowar, Amon Amarth, but also O-Zone, among others.

ALICE COOPER To Get Street Named After Him In Westland, Michigan

ALICE COOPER To Get Street Named After Him In Westland, Michigan

Beasley Media Group has announced that WCSX-FM morning personality Big Jim O'Brien from "Big Jim's House" will join Motor City rock legend Alice Cooper to unveil "Alice Cooper Court" on Thursday, September 23 at Eloise Asylum (30712 Michigan Avenue) in Westland, Michigan.

"Alice Cooper Court" is the third street name created by WCSX honoring Motor City rock icons. Other Detroit-area landmarks include "Bob Seger Boulevard" and "Glenn Frey Drive."

The official ceremony begins at 2 p.m. ET, hosted by Jim O'Brien, and includes remarks from Alice Cooper, who will attend the unveiling prior to his concert performance at the DTE Energy Center Saturday, September 25. It will also feature a live performance by Alice Cooper cover band THE NIGHTMARE.

"From Glenn Frey Drive to Bob Seger Blvd., we've celebrated great local musicians," said Big Jim. "But NEVER has an artist and location made more sense than Alice Cooper Court at Eloise Asylum. We can't wait to celebrate Alice here in the Motor City!"

"Alice Cooper's stage show features guillotines, live snakes, and a strait jacket," said Beasley Media Group vice president of national content and director of Detroit programming Scott Jameson. "So, it's only fitting we honor him with a landmark on the grounds of a century-old Detroit area sanitarium. Some things just write themselves."

To commemorate the dedication, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland is adding an official "Alice Cooper Court" street sign to its "Legends Of Rock" exhibit, which features a new Alice Cooper display opening September 23. In addition to the street sign, fans can check out Alice's original electric chair prop and costumes worn from his iconic tours.

"Rock and roll is as much about the spectacle and visual as it is the sonic. Inductee Alice Cooper spawned a new generation of rock and roll with both," said Nwaka Onwusa, chief curator and vice president of curatorial affairs, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. "We are thrilled to add the official street sign to our exhibit as we celebrate Alice Cooper's legacy with fans and share stories behind the music he created."

DAVID LEE ROTH Releases Music Video For New Solo Song, 'Lo-Rez Sunset'

DAVID LEE ROTH Releases Music Video For New Solo Song, 'Lo-Rez Sunset'

David Lee Roth has released the official music video for a new solo song called "Lo-Rez Sunset". The clip, which also features original artwork by the VAN HALEN singer, can be seen below.

"Lo-Rez Sunset" was one of five songs included in last fall's The Roth Project, an online comic narrated by Roth, with music from John 5 on guitar and bass, Greg Bissonette on drums, Brett Tuggle on keyboards, and Luis Conte on percussion. The 17-chapter comic also included four other songs Roth co-wrote with John 5 and recorded several years ago at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, California: "Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill", "Alligator Pants", "Giddy-Up!" and "Manda Bala".

John 5 got his first big break playing on Roth's solo album, "DLR Band", before landing stints with Marilyn Manson and now Rob Zombie. His latest sessions with the iconic VAN HALEN frontman apparently took place at least seven years ago, with John 5 unveiling a snippet of the album during an interview with Masters Of Shred back in May 2019.

Two years ago, Roth was asked by Meltdown of the Detroit radio station WRIF if his LP with John 5 will be made available at some point. He responded: "It will. There's been a revision of things, and I can start making real plans and start marching into the future. And, of course, you'll start hearing that material. This is material that we wrote variously for me solo and for VAN HALEN, and it's quite a bank of stuff."

Roth, who was promoting his Las Vegas residency at the time, didn't offer a possible time frame for the release of the record, explaining that his priority was "getting out on the road first. Let's see the band, let's show ourselves off, let's travel all over the world."

Back in 2015, John 5 told Guitar Player magazine that the sessions for his latest Roth album were remarkably relaxed. "I would just go to his house and I'd write these songs with him, and he would say, 'Let's go into the studio,'" John 5 explained. "So he would go to Henson studio and record these songs. They came out… They're so good. They're so good. And we've got Gregg Bissonette playing drums on it, and I played the bass, and they're really great songs."

The guitarist said that Roth's vocals on the album sound "like nothing you've ever heard. It's old VAN HALEN — sounds like 'Could This Be Magic?' or anything like that. It's just that sound, that tone."

In a 2014 interview, John 5 described the LP as "11 of the greatest songs you'll ever hear, and it's just me and Dave, and we had Gregg Bissonette play drums on it. And it's unbelievable," he said. "There's a song called 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill'. And you know, just great, great songs."

As previously reported, Roth will return to at Mandalay Bay's House Of Blues in Las Vegas for a a new series of shows that will kick off with a New Year's Eve performance, followed by four concerts in January 2022.

In March 2020, Roth postponed the final six shows of his Las Vegas residency due to the coronavirus pandemic that is spreading across the globe.

In February/March 2020, Roth performed as the opening act for the North American leg of KISS's "End Of The Road" farewell tour.

MINISTRY Drops Music Video For 'Disinformation' From 'Moral Hygiene' Album

MINISTRY Drops Music Video For 'Disinformation' From 'Moral Hygiene' Album

Industrial metal pioneers MINISTRY have released the official music video for their song "Disinformation". The track is taken from the band's 15th studio album, "Moral Hygiene", which is being released today (Friday, October 1) via Nuclear Blast Records.

In a recent interview with Australia's Heavy, MINISTRY frontman Al Jourgensen stated about the new LP's musical direction: "Same old stuff. Just a progression of the MINISTRY sound that's been refined for the last 30 [or] 40 years. And I think we hit a good one this time. There's a couple that I wish I could have back, and there's a couple that I'm really gung-ho about. But this one's in the 'gung-ho' category. This one makes a lot of sense for the times that we're living in."

As for the lyrical themes covered on "Moral Hygiene", Jourgensen said: "We cover everything — from the actual pandemic to climate change to the political climate now. And I don't mean so much the politicians as much as the rise of fascist tendencies all over the world and in various countries. And a lot of life topics like that."

The album's first single, "Good Trouble", was released in early July. The song, inspired by the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and the activist work of the late congressman John Lewis, was accompanied by a video that includes sampling from last year's demonstrations in Los Angeles as captured by Jourgensen and his partner Liz Walton. "Moral Hygiene" also includes the previously released "Alert Level" that sounded the alarms about our collective dissonance towards the pandemic, climate change and the man formerly in the White House, bolstered by the song's overarching question posed to listeners: "How concerned are you?" The new album also adds perspective to the countless lives that were tragically lost to the COVID-19 pandemic on the haunting track "Death Toll" while "Disinformation" describes the too frequent willingness to accept everything — even mistruths — as fact.

Other musical jewels on the release include a collaboration with Jello Biafra (Jourgensen's cohort in side project LARD) on "Sabotage Is Sex" and a unique take on THE STOOGES' "Search And Destroy" that features guitar virtuoso Billy Morrison (BILLY IDOL, ROYAL MACHINES).

"Moral Hygiene" was recorded with engineer Michael Rozon (also behind the boards on "AmeriKKKant") at Scheisse Dog Studio, Jourgensen's self-built home studio and creative lab. As with all MINISTRY albums, all songs are written and performed by Jourgensen. Additional contributions come from Morrison, Cesar Soto (MAN THE MUTE), John Bechdel (KILLING JOKE, FEAR FACTORY), Roy Mayorga (STONE SOUR, SOULFLY, NAUSEA), Paul D'Amour (TOOL, FEERSUM ENNJIN), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.) and sitar player Flash.

"Moral Hygiene" is available in CD, vinyl and digital download formats.

LIONS AT THE GATE Feat. Former ILL NIÑO Members: Music Video For New Single 'Scapegoat' Available

LIONS AT THE GATE Feat. Former ILL NIÑO Members: Music Video For New Single 'Scapegoat' Available

LIONS AT THE GATE, the new band featuring former ILL NIÑO members Cristian Machado (vocals), Ahrue "Luster" Ilustre (guitar) and Diego Verduzco (guitar), alongside bassist Stephen Brewer (WESTFIELD MASSACRE) and drummer Fern Lemus, has released its second single, titled "Scapegoat". The track, which is accompanied by an official music video shot by Vicente Cordero, is driven by massively heavy riffs, a thunderous rhythm section, intricate guitar work and the sublime juxtaposition of Machado's furious screams and soaring clean vocals.

"Scapegoat" and previously released single "Not Even Human" are expected to appear on LIONS AT THE GATE's upcoming debut album, which was produced by FAILURE ANTHEM's Kile Odell, who has previously worked with FOZZY and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE.

Machado states: "'Scapegoat' was a song brought in by Ahrue. Everyone liked the song immediately, including our producer Kile Odell. The instrumental had a chilling and beautiful metallic melody. I was quickly moved by the music and began to wonder about my own life. From there, we began to sculpt a message.

"Dysfunctional people don't want to apologize or make amends; they want to resolve what's broken in them by damaging others. It's their great misconception that the scapegoat will be weak and remain powerless when it takes great strength to carry a burden you bear no guilt in.

"Kile and I realized early on that I was going through a very challenging time in my life with no outlet other than the music and that perhaps this was what I needed to begin healing. A lot of painful memories were dug up and dealt with whilst recording. I am grateful the guys had the patience to help me work through it, and that music is still in my life. Hopefully these songs can speak to other like-minded people and offer a sense of healing.

"The video for scapegoat is a performance art video. The band individually portrayed personal emotion as part of the art. Vicente Cordero's approach allowed us to feel comfortable in an environment where the performance and the emotion is the focus."

LIONS AT THE GATE released its debut single, "Not Even Human", back in June to huge excitement from fans old and new. To date, the track has clocked up 125,000 streams and nearly 100,000 YouTube views.

When LIONS AT THE GATE's formation was first announced in early June, Machado said: "I feel so blessed to be in LIONS AT THE GATE. We've all been making albums for a long time but I think it was time for us to make something special and memorable again. This album is exactly that. Take away our musical history, take away our long hair, take away our personal feelings, just make believe we were never there. This LIONS AT THE GATE album is amazing. We finally made a modern metal album that metalheads will enjoy beginning to end. It's deep, it's memorable, I can't wait for everyone to hear it, I can't wait for everyone to hear the featured female artist on one of the songs."

Verduzco added: "I'm beyond proud and excited to announce our new band LIONS AT THE GATE. Life is all about change and I feel that this music is the most dynamic and honest that we've ever written. I feel a sense of freedom and am completely reinvigorated and even anxious (in a good way) to be a part of something that pulls influence from so many directions . Each member brings a unique set of talent and tools. It's quite frankly some of the best music we've ever written. Organic, honest, and true."

Luster stated: "I'm more excited about LIONS AT THE GATE than anything that I've been a part of since I started my musical career."

Luster discussed his renewed collaboration with Machado and Verduzco in an interview with Pierre Gutierrez of Rock Talks. He said: "I can't even explain how happy I am with how this came out. It sounds, in my opinion, better than anything that Cristian and I have ever done together, and that includes all the ILL NIÑO records that we've done together."

Asked about the musical direction of LIONS AT THE GATE, Ahrue said: "It's a very polished sound, similar to… I don't wanna say it sounds like [ILL NIÑO's 2003 album] 'Confession', but there's a lot of singing on it, there's a lot of production. But at the same time, there's heaviness to it. But the songs are better than anything we've written. And the crazy thing was the process of writing 'em was way easier than it has ever been for us. Usually an ILL NIÑO record would take us three to six months to finish. We finished this record in 20 days, and we believe it sounds better than anything we've ever done in the past."

Speaking about LIONS AT THE GATE's collaboration with Odell, Ahrue said: "He's worked with BAD WOLVES. I think he may have co-wrote with them. But he has a huge resume, and he's had, like, five Number One hits last year. And he was amazing to work with. I've worked with Ross Robinson, I've worked with Johnny K, I've worked with Terry Date, as a mixer, and I've worked with some other big names in the industry that have all had platinum records, and I'll say, hands down, Kile Odell is amazing. I would say, second to [MACHINE HEAD's] 'The Burning Red', it was an amazing experience. It was a different way. As far as Ross Robinson was really into the emotion and getting the emotion out of the players and the music, Odell is very musical and he's really able to help with the songs, and he has a great ear and a great vision."

KISS Shares Previously Unreleased 'Acoustic Mix' Of 'Beth' From 45th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Destroyer'

KISS has just shared "Beth (Acoustic Mix)", the first previously unreleased track from "KISS - Destroyer 45th". The original album version of "Beth" was released in 1976 and reached No. 7 on Billboard's Hot 100. For the new acoustic mix of "Beth", the original recorded acoustic guitar track was taken from the analog multi-tracks and has now been fully restored and mixed with the original piano, vocal and synthesizer tracks, adding a fresh yet familiar feel to this iconic recording. "Beth (Acoustic Mix)" is now available to order and stream below.

Celebrating its 45 anniversary, "Destroyer" was originally released in 1976 and is considered to be one of the quintessential KISS albums. It is the band's first album to sell one million copies in its first year and holds the title of being their all-time best-selling studio album. Packed with concert staples and KISS Army favorites, including "Detroit Rock City", "Shout It Out Loud", "God Of Thunder" and "Beth", on November 19, 2021 UMe will release "KISS – Destroyer 45th" in the form of a Super Deluxe 4-CD + Blu-ray audio box set as well as on standard double black vinyl and limited edition yellow and red double colored vinyl, 2-CD set and digital.

For the recording of "Destroyer", Bob Ezrin was brought in as KISS's new producer, helping the band reach new levels, both sonically and creatively. The album also showed the band's growth as musicians and songwriters, experimenting with new sounds which came in the form of the softer side of songs like "Do You Love Me?" , and songs heavy with orchestral arrangements including "Great Expectations" and "Beth". Following the breakthrough success of 1975's No. 9 Billboard-charting "Alive!", "Destroyer" was the KISS album that brought them to the forefront of the mainstream and transformed them into global rock icons. For its anniversary, UMe celebrates this seminal album's legacy with a staggering amount of bonus material.

CD 1 includes the original album newly remastered at Abbey Road Mastering, while CD 2 features 15 demos from Paul Stanley's and Gene Simmons's personal archives — nine of which were previously unreleased. CD 3 is packed with studio outtakes, alternate versions / mixes and single edits — most notably a brand-new stripped-down mix for "Beth (Acoustic Mix)", and CD 4 contains an electrifying performance from the band's visit to Paris France at the L'Olympia on May 22, 1976. For the Blu-ray audio disc, Steven Wilson was brought in to create a first-ever Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mix of the original studio album plus two bonus tracks, "Beth (Acoustic Mix)" and "Sweet Pain (Original Guitar Solo)", the latter featuring Ace Frehley's original recorded guitar solo that was not released on the studio album (this track is available on the 2012 "Destroyer: Resurrected" project).

Additionally, the Super Deluxe box features an extravagant array of collectable KISS memorabilia and ephemera, including a complete recreation of the original KISS Army Kit with the original folder and following items:

FULL OF HELL Release Garden Of Burning Apparitions; Full Album Stream Available

FULL OF HELL Release Garden Of Burning Apparitions; Full Album Stream Available

Full Of Hell return with their new album, Garden Of Burning Apparitions, out today via Relapse Records on CD/LP/CS/Digital. Order here, and find a full album stream below.

Garden Of Burning Apparitions, a genre-bending blitzkrieg of hardcore, grind and death metal, sees the band expand upon the very elements that have propelled Full Of Hell to the forefront of extreme music over the last decade.

Produced by Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Garden of Burning Apparitions also sees Full Of Hell adding new dimensions to their warp-speed hellscape. Guitarist Spencer Hazard and bassist Sam DiGristine's monstrous riffs now have an added noise-rock influence, while drummer Dave Bland commands the rhythm section at blazing speeds.

Lyrically, Garden of Burning Apparitions sees vocalist Dylan Walker exploring (anti)religion, life's impermanence and the fear that comes with knowing death is inescapable. "Industrial Messiah Complex” grinds organized religion to a pulp in under 90 seconds, while Walker contemplates the commodification of spirituality seen in America’s vast network of garish mega-churches and how these practices are at odds with true spirituality. Meanwhile, “Reeking Tunnels” rides a strident noise rock riff down into the sewer. It’s a metaphor for the physical and mental space we become trapped in when we live in a perpetual state of fear and hate. Elsewhere, justifiable ochlophobia propels the guttural death metal blast of “Eroding Shell.” Lyrically, the song seeks to capture our fear of the violent, ignorant mob—a scene glimpsed far too often in this volatile era.

In the end, Full Of Hell’s boundary smashing has paid off again. “I think it’s good that we tried not to pigeonhole ourselves early on,” Walker reflects. “Because now, 10 years in, we have the opportunity to make whatever record we want, within reason, and people will follow along.”

WHITESNAKE Release "Restless Heart" (2021 HD Video)

WHITESNAKE Release "Restless Heart" (2021 HD Video)

In the wake of Whitesnake’s massive global success, the band’s founder and lead singer, David Coverdale, set out to record his third solo album in 1995. However, the plan was derailed when pressure from his record label forced him to change course and release Restless Heart under the David Coverdale & Whitesnake moniker. Despite the changes, the 1997 album was a Top 40 hit in the UK. Surprisingly, the record was never released in the US. That will change this fall when Rhino introduces several versions of Restless Heart, including a four-disc boxed set.

Restless Heart: Super Deluxe Edition will be available on October 29 and is available for pre-order now. The 4CD/DVD collection features newly remastered and remixed versions of the original album, along with unreleased demos and studio outtakes. The DVD includes music videos and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album with new interviews from David Coverdale. The set comes with a hardbound book filled with rare and unseen photos from the era.

Three additional versions of Restless Heart will be available the same day. First is a two-CD Deluxe Edition that includes the new remix plus the original album, newly remastered. Next is a double-LP Deluxe Edition pressed on 180-gram silver vinyl that features the newly remixed album. And finally, there is a single-disc version which again features the newly remixed album . In addition, all of the music will be available digitally through streaming services.

Restless Heart: Super Deluxe Edition opens with a newly remixed version of the album that’s closer to the sound Coverdale initially intended for his new solo release. It’s followed by a newly remastered version of Restless Heart, including the singles “Too Many Tears” and “Don’t Fade Away,” plus three bonus tracks from the album’s original Japanese release. Featured musicians include Adrian Vandenberg, Denny Carmassi, Guy Pratt and in addition, guitarist Joel Hoekstra and keyboardist Derek Sherinian who bring their exceptional talents to the party.

The following two discs reveal how Restless Heart evolved, starting with early pre-production versions of every album track to later takes of those songs.

The DVD features several music videos (“Too Many Tears” and “Restless Heart) plus the Making of the Album featurette. There is also a video EP featuring the three relevant songs from the 1997 live acoustic album, Starkers In Tokyo, originally only available in Japan.

Pre-order here, and watch a video for "Restless Heart" (2021 HD) below.

MASSACRE Reveal Horrifying Video For New Single "Whisperer In Darkness"

MASSACRE Reveal Horrifying Video For New Single "Whisperer In Darkness"

Florida's masters of death metal, Massacre, have debuted a gruesome music video for their new single, "Whisperer In Darkness", which is found on their fourth full-length album, Resurgence, out October 22 via Nuclear Blast.

Commenting on the new single, vocalist Kam Lee states: "This is the bands love ballad. The first song we wrote together for the album, the one that brings us together in sweet harmony like honey and butter covered toast. It’s like a warm cozy cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter's morning… with marsh-mellows even. Until the horrid eldritch tentacle reaches up out of the toilet and violently picks you up off your feet and slams you face first into the concrete floor. Broken teeth, spurting blood and gore as parts of your tongue are torn from your maw while this hideous creature crawls its way up your rectum. Like I said… a love ballad.""

ENSLAVED Debut "Ruun II - The Epitaph" Music Video; Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP Out Now

ENSLAVED Debut "Ruun II - The Epitaph" Music Video; Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP Out Now

Enslaved's Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP has been released unto the universe, alongside a beautiful video for the track, "Ruun II - The Epitaph". Viewers should note that the video is part two - a second part to the video which accompanied the EP title track.

A new cycle is underway, and Enslaved find themselves on a bridge between the archaic and the unmapped. Caravans To The Outer Worlds EP is a tale of departure, of leaving behind a barren and desolate world, travelling boldly into the future. There are outer worlds to go to and new havens to rebuild in, to invoke a new dawn and to defend the new world for those of Sense and Earth.

Order Caravans To The Outer Worlds physically + digitally here. Watch the video for "Ruun II - The Epitaph" below.

Grutle Kjellson stated, "Releasing an EP is a huge privilege, it really is. It is somehow reliving to go on a stroll away from the the album format, and take some leaps into obscurity in between two full lengths. There’s so many great and experimental EP’s in music history; Magical Mystery Tour, Garage Days Revisited, Deathcrush, The Golden Years… just to mention a very few. We hope Caravans To The Outer Worlds, our third EP in 30 years, can fascinate and inspire.”

Ivar Bjørnson added, "This EP is an expression of the vital state Enslaved is in – the idea to create a transitory release between Utgard and what is to come next logically led to the idea of an EP. Iver’s idea of adding short intermezzos between the two main songs gave this release even more energy and depth. This EP is one that points backwards towards our early works as well as forward to a yet unknown place we seem to be heading for."

There is a desert which is very old, very dry, and very dangerous. Few have ever dared to cross it, and fewer have returned. Some say that it is a desert between places, others say that it is a desert between worlds. Those who have crossed it and returned swear that the desert is another world in itself - an astral bridge, which swallows all but the most well-prepared travellers.

Enslaved are such seasoned voyagers. In their last venture, they descended into Utgard, deep in the dark beneath their native Norway. Now, they are preparing to set off again, not down this time, but out. They intend to cross the desert, into it and
