BRUCE KULICK & THE VEGAS M.O.B.B. Aim To Release An EP This Fall

BRUCE KULICK & THE VEGAS M.O.B.B. Aim To Release An EP This Fall

Former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick recently appeared on Tales Of A Kiss Geek. His chat with host Glen Walker can be seen below; an excerpt has been transcribed as follows:

Kulick: "The Vegas M.O.B.B. (Members of Bruce's Band featuring Todd Kerns, Brent Fitz, and Zach Throne), I want it to be more of a band effort... we have two songs that we need to finish. We plan on finishing them this summer, so we could offer at least an EP of a couple of tunes come the fall, with the events coming up with the Kruise, and the Kruise Fest that happens right before the Kruise; but that could develop into something more."

KISS Kruise X will sail from Miami, Florida to Harvest Caye, Belize & Roatan, Honduras from October 29 - November 3, 2021 aboard Norwegian Pearl.

Scheduled to perform aboard Kiss Kruise X: KISS, Night Ranger, Queensrÿche, Sebastian Bach, Bruce Kulick, Black 'N Blue, Tuk Smith & The Restless Hearts, Jared James Nichols, Liliac, and more. Complete details can be found at TheKissKruise.com.

SEEKING SIRENS Release "Splinter" Video

SEEKING SIRENS Release "Splinter" Video

Seeking Sirens have released their new single "Splinter" on all streaming platforms, alongside a high energy video.

The band comments: “Folks can expect a much more aggressive composition than our recent debut. Heavy, scathing, with some serious groove and a lyrical direction focused on the innate capacity within us all to flourish in spite of struggle and tribulations. We hope listeners enjoy the high energy and dialed up heaviness, and we also hope the lyrical content resonates with those who have had to stand up to their friends, which can be infinitely harder than standing up to their enemies.”

METALLICA Team With Biker Streetwear Brand BODA SKINS For New Collection

METALLICA Team With Biker Streetwear Brand BODA SKINS For New Collection

Manchester-based biker streetwear brand, Boda Skins, has nw announced their latest collection, one that sees them team up with rock music legends, Metallica. Comprising of t-shirts, a hoodie, and an iconic adjustment to their world-famous leather jackets, Boda Skins has labeled this as their "biggest collaboration yet."

Tapping into some of Metallica's most iconic graphics, selections spread across the album artwork from the Ride The Lightening album, the famous electric chair imagery, the 'Love 'Til Leather' tape deck design, and a reimagined 'Soon You'll Please Their Appetite' design.

Using the Metallica prints across their T-shirts and hoodie, Boda's classic jersey is 170gms, as well as being GOTS certified as 100% organic cotton.  The hoodie only features the iconic electric chair graphic, but while also featuring 100% organic cotton on the linings, this oversized look goes through a rigorous washing process to prevent shrinkage, while the V-stitched reinforcement ensures the neckline doesn't lose its shape over time.

Introducing the latest Kay Michaels leather, Boda has added two new linings to the world-famous silhouette. Featuring the Ride The Lightning and the tape deck graphics, each lining is made from 100% premium satin.

For the rest of the jacket, the same distinctive details still remain. The jacket is handcrafted from premium sheep leather, with gunmetal hardware and two internal pockets that are made for phones and cardholders. Each jacket has ribbed detailing on the shoulders and is available in the Original and Tall ranges.

Purchase your Boda Skins x Metallica items from BodaSkins.com from August 28.

DAMIAN WILSON's Limehouse To Lechlade Album Available In November; "Once We're Gone" Lyric Video Streaming

DAMIAN WILSON's Limehouse To Lechlade Album Available In November; "Once We're Gone" Lyric Video Streaming

Damian Wilson (Arena, Headspace, Ayreon) will release a new album, Limehouse To Lechlade, on November 12 on LP, CD and download/streaming format. The album, produced by Andrew Holdsworth, is Damian’s first full-length solo album since 2016’s Built For Fighting. It contains 13 original songs and might be Damian's most eclectic work yet. Known for his exploration into different genres, the songs on the album range from folk-rock to power pop, with the occasional Floydian guitar solo.

The title, Limehouse To Lechlade, refers to the navigable length of the River Thames heading upstream from central London to the Cotswolds. Damian loved his many years living on river boats, and traveling the River Thames is particularly special to him. Limehouse To Lechlade was recorded during one of the most challenging periods for the music industry. Damian believes that music is about connecting with people, and after this period of separation from each other he is looking forward to reconnecting with his audience on the road; starting with shows through Europe in November/December 2021.

The album is mastered by Tony Lindgren (Sepultura, Opeth, Katatonia) and features a wide range of musicians, 17 in total, including Alex Reeves
(Elbow), Lee Pomeroy (ELO), Michael Buckley (Glen Hansard) and Chris Hill (Jamie Cullum). Available for pre-order here.

The opening track, "Once We're Gone", is streaming on all digital platforms now. Watch a lyric video below.

RIPPED TO SHREDS - Bay Area Death Metal Legion Signs To Relapse Records; New Album Coming In 2022

RIPPED TO SHREDS - Bay Area Death Metal Legion Signs To Relapse Records; New Album Coming In 2022

Relapse welcomes Bay Area death metal legion, Ripped To Shreds, to the roster.

Founded in 2016 as a one man band by Andrew Lee, the 2018 release of debut album 埋葬 (Mai-Zang) was met with success across the death metal underground. Their most recent album, 亂 (Luan) landed across several year end lists. Ripped To Shreds was recently revealed to play at this year’s upcoming Decibel Metal and Beer Fest LA.

Ripped To Shreds will release their Relapse debut and third full-length album in 2022. The band are currently streaming a brand new song, “燒冥紙 (Sacrificial Fire),” via the Decibel Flexi Series here. Decibel says “this exclusive new track showcases the now signature brutal-yet-melodic take on the old school style from this upstart international death metal machine.”

Regarding the signing, Ripped To Shreds comment: “We're all very excited to be a part of Relapse's roster, since Relapse has meant so much to our early journeys through extreme music. We're also excited to be one of the first all Asian-American bands signed to Relapse, since the Asian-American experience informs the entire concept of Ripped To Shreds. The Bay Area is rich with Asian talent in the hardcore scene, with massive bands like Sunami and Gulch drawing droves of other Asian Americans to shows; we hope to do the same for death metal in the Bay. Our new record will showcase the same chainsaw death metal/grind as we've always done, with a bit of a Finndeath twist this time around, as well as the fastest blasting we've ever managed to extract out of our drummer. We'll work him until his hands fall off.”

CEREBELLION Releases Single, Video “Until I Can Breathe”

CEREBELLION Releases Single, Video “Until I Can Breathe”

Orange County, CA metal act Cerebellion has released a new single and stunning cinematic music video for “Until I Can Breathe” in reaction to Covid-19 and sociopolitical worries that left so many with overwhelming stress and anxiety about the future. Vocalist Joe Arnold states “a lot of us were drowning from financial worries, relationship strains, media overwhelm, social separation, and divisiveness as a result of the pandemic.

Despite those feelings, this song reminds us to keep swimming up and eventually you will get a breath. Bassist Marc Battung adds, “We kept our heads above water by continuing to focus on our passion of writing and producing new music. That’s our therapy. We had to learn how to do it remotely but, in many ways, it opened up new possibilities for us.”

The dramatic music video, which was filmed, directed, and edited by Ian Mora of Smash Standard Cinema, follows the narrative of a young woman grieving the loss of her husband from a deep sea fishing accident. The imagery of massive tidal waves and lightning followed by moments of sadness and reflection perfectly pairs with the music as it ebbs and flows in and out of titanic riffs and acoustic guitar. Vocally, it showcases Arnold’s dynamic pallet, ranging from very aggressive verses to catchy, climactic choruses and a very somber and melodic bridge.

On the heels of the band’s critically acclaimed 2020 album Beyond Our Failures, this latest offering drops in advance of the band’s forthcoming EP due on September 21. Mixed, mastered and co-produced by Logan Mader (Gojira, Five Finger Death Punch), the EP promises to be Cerebellion’s heaviest and best sounding material to date.

THE UGLY KINGS - Coloured Vinyl Collection Of Strange, Strange Times Album Unboxed; Video

THE UGLY KINGS - Coloured Vinyl Collection Of Strange, Strange Times Album Unboxed; Video

August 13 will see Australia-based alternative rockers, The Ugly Kings, release their new album, Strange, Strange Times, via Napalm Records.

Following 2018’s Darkness Is My Home, with Strange, Strange Times, the four- piece is poised to turn heads and continues to infuse their foreboding alt-rock with blackened blues and gritty punk edge. The Ugly Kings may channel the flavor of groups like Queens Of The Stone Age and Danzig, but their revitalizing infusion of dark energy is evident while preserving razor sharp, daringly introspective control with clever lyricism, addictive riffage, catchy melodies and a heavy power blues flavor.

The Ugly Kings are super excited to present to you the full Strange, Strange Times coloured vinyl collection in this official unboxing video, including the digipak CD:

Each song on the band’s new album is about a different state of mind in this strange, strange time. Both lyrically and musically, The Ugly Kings have created a captivating and enthralling ride! - 1LP Gatefold Black
- 1LP Gatefold Transparent Yellow w/ Red Marble (Napalm mailorder only - limited to 100)

KISSIN’ DYNAMITE Announce New Album And Napalm Records Debut, Not The End Of The Road; Title Track Music Video Streaming

KISSIN’ DYNAMITE Announce New Album And Napalm Records Debut, Not The End Of The Road; Title Track Music Video Streaming

Founded in 2007, German heavy metal formation Kissin' Dynamite have made more than just a name for themselves in the scene: With six studio albums and various chart entries, the band established their trademark style - characterized by modern sound, massive anthems and catchy hooks paired with an 80s stadium rock attitude and eccentric look. Now, the five piece is ready to release their Napalm Records debut, Not The End Of The Road, and usher in heavy metal in 2022.

To shorten the time until the upcoming album, Kissin' Dynamite have already released a first track and harbinger of the new record, entitled "Not The End Of The Road", along with an official music video. Their guitar driven sound meets crushing, catchy vocals that easily compete with genre greats and already offers a first glimpse of the band's intoxicating character!

The music video for “Not The End Of The Road” was shot on the airfield in Mendig, Germany and hereby sets a sign of hope in relation to the flood catastrophes.

The new studio album was produced, recorded and mixed by vocalist Hannes Braun (Südland Music) himself, who has also worked with bands like Santiano, The Kelly Family and Beyond The Black. Mastering was completed by Grammy Award winning producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, known for his work with bands like Volbeat and many more.

Kissin' Dynamite states: “The song is bursting with positive energy, joie de vivre and good vibes. Thematically, it's about never giving up and instead always moving on. Thus, the song hits the current zeitgeist like no other. We had to deal with the separation from our long-time founding member, drummer and friend Andi Schnitzer, as well as the drastic time of the lockdown and want to make unmistakably clear that we want to continue against all odds, and that we are stronger than ever. The decision for the new band member on drums, Sebastian Berg, was anything but easy for the group. From over 100 international applications received, seven aspirants were put through their paces in the course of a live audition.”

Watch the video for “Not The End Of The Road” below.

Ande Braun on the new album: "Not The End Of The Road is an album, which accurately describes our experiences as a band since Ecstasy 2018. First and foremost, we highlight with songs like “Not The End Of The Road”, “What Goes Up”, “Yoko Ono” and “Only The Dead”: We're up for it, we're pulling together and we want to reach the rock Olympus! Titles like “Coming Home”, “Gone For Good” and “Scars”, on the other hand, deal with real feelings like loneliness, homesickness and sadness, which are also part of life."

Hannes Braun adds: "With Ecstasy we already didn't make any compromises and just wanted to compose music that speaks from us. Not The End Of The Road seamlessly picks up exactly here."

With Not The End Of The Road, Kissin' Dynamite set another milestone in their successful discography: In guitar-driven power metal fashion, the tune of the intro and title track “Not The End Of The Road” prepares the listener for a thrilling road trip and new anthems straight from the heart of the Kissin' Dynamite universe. Crusher “What Goes Up” takes its listener into the truly spectacular soundscapes that make stadiums shake and convinces with Aerosmith-like guitar attacks and an anthemic hook. But Kissin' Dynamite are also not afraid to show their mellower side, as heard on delightfully tranquil tracks like “Good Life” and “Gone For Good” - not only showcasing the almost calm touches pervading the melodies, but also presenting the softer side of Braun’s vocal repertoire. While tracks like “No One Dies A Virgin” and “Yoko Ono” symbolize catchy party hymns, standouts “Coming Home” and “Defeat It” underline their origins of stadium rock without being pigeonholed. “Voodoo Spell” manifests the variety of the band and their different influences - starting with strong dark rock elements, the song becomes an opus that easily competes with the biggest stadium giants. The album’s closer, “Scars”, proves once again that Kissin' Dynamite can reach the depths and showcase lyrical vulnerability - an impressive ending that screams to be played live.

Not The End Of The Road will be available in North America in the following formats:

- CD Digipack
- LP Gatefold Vinyl Black
- LP Gatefold Vinyl White
- LP Gatefold Vinyl Glow In The Dark
- LP Gatefold Vinyl Marbled Red/Black + Slipmat
- LP Gatefold Vinyl Crystal Clear
- Box
- MC
- Digital album

Pre-order here.

Not The End Of The Road tracklisting:

"Not The End Of The Road"
"What Goes Up"
"Only The Dead"
"Good Life"
"Yoko Ono"
"Coming Home"
"All For A Halleluja"
"No One Dies A Virgin"
"Gone For Good"
"Defeat It"
"Voodoo Spell"
"Scars"

"Not The End Of The Road" video:

On Not The End Of The Road, Kissin' Dynamite continue the cooperation with the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V., a charity organization that supports children with cancer in the rockers' hometown. The song “Good Life” picks up the topic perfectly. The complete proceeds of the title are to be donated to the association.

The album and the album title thus have a real meaning that touches people on several levels and has the right song ready for every personal life situation.

SATYRICON Frontman Has Best-Selling Wine In Norway

SATYRICON Frontman Has Best-Selling Wine In Norway

Wongraven Morgenstern Riesling, which is part of the portfolio of SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven's wine company, Wongraven Wines, is now officially the best-selling wine in his home country of Norway.

Satyr broke the news earlier today in an Instagram post. He wrote: "This is a big day for me! Wongraven Morgenstern Riesling is now officially the most sold wine in the country. Regardless of white, red, sparkling, this grape, that grape, country, price etc etc. It is number one. Period.

"Congratulations to everyone who helped me make a wine of this quality and made others believe in what we believe in. We make what we like ourselves and hope that others will like it too! That simple.

"Thank you to all of you wine lovers out there who believe in what I do and for your continued support. What an amazing ride to be on! #wongravenwines #wongraven #morgenstern #riesling #pfalz #germany"

Satyr's portfolio also includes Wongraven Alleanza Piemonte Rosso and Wongraven Champagne. Satyr blends the wines himself and works closely with the winemakers on both viticulture and vinification. In addition, he does all design development together with his network of artists and designers. The wines are produced organically, or according to organic principles.

1.8 million liters of Wongraven wines were sold in Norway in 2020, up 94% from 2019.

It was reported that year that Satyr sold 90% of Wongraven Wines in 2019 to Vingruppen, owned by wine and spirits producer Arcus.

Dagens Næringsliv obtained Vingruppen's 2019 financial records that showed shares in Wongraven Wines were valued at NOK 51.3 million, which is about $5.4 million.

In 2019, Wongraven Wines had sales of NOK 6.6 million (approximately $700,000), ending the year with a profit of NOK 3.7 million ($390,000) before tax.

Since 2009, Satyr has developed and sold quality wines in Norway. From 2014, this has been done in collaboration with Vingruppen.

About a decade ago, Satyr partnered with Luca Roagna, a fifth-generation winemaker from Piedmont, Italy, to launch the musician's own brand of wine.

Wongraven and Roagna first met in the spring of 2003 while SATYRICON was on tour in Italy and spent several months in 2010 creating two classic wines that represented a combination of Roagna's skilled vineyard work and Satyr's vision of traditional Piedmontese wines.

Wongraven also has a number of other wine projects. He has collaborated with Baron-Fuente to make 100% organic Champagnes, and Remy and Armin Grassa to create Bordeaux-style whites.

In a 2019 interview with Wines Of Germany, Satyr was asked if it is possible to draw a parallel between the black metal scene and the wine world. He responded: "Yes, of course. The main reason I can make good blends is the experience, intuition and confidence I have when I work. I know what I want, what it requires from me, and I have vast experience in trusting the process. That is how music is made, and wine is no different, I have learned. You must have a vision and commit to it."

FRED DURST On LIMP BIZKIT Tour Cancelation: 'In Short, The System Is Still Very Flawed'

LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst has elaborated on the reasons for the cancelation of the remaining August dates of the band's U.S. tour.

Last Saturday (August 7), LIMP BIZKIT announced that it was scrapping more than half a dozen shows, explaining in a statement that it was doing so "out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and most of all the fans."

In a follow-up message to Billboard, Durst stated about the decision: "In short, the system is still very flawed. Even if the performers, crews, staff, and promoters do their best to ensure safety on and behind the stage, that doesn't ensure the safety of the audience as a whole. We are all in this together, and we all — individually and as a whole — have to make our best efforts to be as responsible and proactive as possible moving forward to combat and stop spreading COVID."

Durst also denied that there was a specific incident that prompted him and his bandmates to pull the plug on the trek, saying it was "just perception."

LIMP BIZKIT's tour was called off a day after the band scrapped its concert at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey about an hour before the show was scheduled to begin. No reason for the Stone Pony cancelation was given, but one fan who spoke to Durst outside the venue stated that guitarist Wes Borland — who is said to be fully vaccinated — apparently felt "really sick" after the band had already completed its soundcheck. Borland has since taken to his Instagram to shoot down rumors that he was feeling unwell and that he has COVID-19.

Durst made headlines last month when he debuted his new look at the band's July 29 concert at Metro in Chicago, with the frontman now sporting wavy salt-and-pepper locks accompanied by a horseshoe-style mustache. LIMP BIZKIT also debuted a new song at the event, titled "Dad Vibes".

After LIMP BIZKIT's Lollapalooza set, the band saw a huge spike in streams and sales, with its catalog recording a combined 1.9 million on-demand streams, according to Billboard. That was up 27% from the Sunday and Monday from a week earlier (July 25 and 26), when the band accounted for a combined 1.5 million on-demand streams.

LIMP BIZKIT has not released a new studio album since 2011's "Gold Cobra", although the band has spent a lot of time writing and recording music over the past dec

STEELHEART To Celebrate 30th Anniversary Of Self-Titled Album During Livestream

STEELHEART To Celebrate 30th Anniversary Of Self-Titled Album During Livestream

Originally released in May 1990, STEELHEART's self-titled debut album hit the Billboard Top 40 behind the single, "I'll Never Let You Go". After many delays due to the pandemic, the hard rock veterans will return to the stage on August 20 in Dallas, Texas at the Glass Cactus to properly celebrate the album, simulcasting the performance via the Dreamstage HD livestream platform. Watch the trailer below. Tickets are available here.

The release of "Steelheart" in 1990 brought the Connecticut quartet immediate commercial and critical success. Led by Miljenko Matijevic, STEELHEART has showcased its broad influences and the raw strength of his vocals, their sound drawing comparisons to hard rock and metal greats like RATT and WHITESNAKE.

STEELHEART was asked by heavy metal band SLAUGHTER to perform a show with them on October 31, 1992 Halloween night. This was to be the 50th show of STEELHEART's last leg of the tour. It turned out to be momentous in a way they didn't expect as tragedy struck. While performing "Dancing In The Fire", from that year's "Tangled In Reins" album, Miljenko decided to climb a lighting truss, which was improperly secured, forever changing the lives of STEELHEART and their fans. Trying to dodge the massive rig without success, the 1000-pound truss hit the back of his head — hard — driving one of the greatest vocalists of all time face first into the stage: breaking his nose, cheekbone, jaw and twisting his spine.

In 1996, after much physical rehabilitation, Miljenko formed a new version of STEELHEART to record and release the album "Wait". The title-track single from the record went No. 1 across Asia, and the track "We All Die Young" was later used in the 2001 Mark Wahlberg / Jennifer Aniston film "Rock Star". In 2008, Miljenko released "Good 2B Alive", which he wrote, produced and engineered with producer Kit Woolen. Miljenko wrote and produced STEELHEART's latest album, "Through Worlds Of Stardust", released by Frontiers Music Srl in 2017. The album earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

On August 20, Miljenko and STEELHEART bring it all back to the beginning, performing "Steelheart" in full, along with fan favorites from throughout their 30 years as a band.

Dreamstage was launched last August by CEO Thomas Hesse (former president of Sony Music for global digital business and U.S. sales/distribution), CTO Scott Chasin (serial entrepreneur with a track record of successfully founding and growing startups, including ProtectWise and MX Logic), and artistic director Jan Vogler (internationally known cellist and director of the Dresden Music Festival).

In May, Dreamstage announced a strategic investment from global streaming service Deezer, with Hess and head of artist & venue relations Justin Bridgewater, discussing the monumental changes in the live music world created by the emergence of livestreaming in the a recent issue of Pollstar.

DOOGIE WHITE Looks Back On His IRON MAIDEN Audition, Says BLAZE BAYLEY 'Did A Great Job'

DOOGIE WHITE Looks Back On His IRON MAIDEN Audition, Says BLAZE BAYLEY 'Did A Great Job'

Doogie White, the Scottish rock singer best known for stints with RAINBOW, Yngwie Malmsteen and Michael Schenker, recalled his audition to replace Bruce Dickinson in IRON MAIDEN in 1993. Speaking to Rocking With Jam Man, he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I was recording in Brussels in Belgium, I was doing an album, and a friend of mine phoned me up and said Bruce was gonna be leaving IRON MAIDEN at the end of the tour and I should really send a tape in to Sanctuary [MAIDEN's management company]. So when I got home from doing the album, I put together four or five songs and sent them out. And I got contacted and told I would be singing with IRON MAIDEN on the Monday. And I got a cassette with, I think, 20 songs or something, and I had to learn them over the weekend. I was younger then; I could remember things. I sang with them on the Monday."

He continued: "It was up at Steve Harris's house. The studio was in an old farm house, an old building. And they stood around me in a circle. So I had Janick [Gers] and Davey [Murray] and Steve, and they put Nicko [McBrain] behind me, so at least the drums were coming from behind. And we just went through the songs. And we had a cup of tea [and some] bisuits. And then we went back and did some more songs. And then they asked me back again. But they gave the gig to Blaze. And Blaze did a great job. And then the planets realigned and the universe was saved and IRON MAIDEN became the greatest metal band on the planet."

In a 2005 interview with Metal Rules, White said that he sang a total of 22 songs with IRON MAIDEN, including "Be Quick Or Be Dead", "From Here To Eternity", "Can I Play With Madness", "Iron Maiden" and "The Clairvoyant". He also said that if he had gotten the job with MAIDEN, he never would have landed the gig with RAINBOW.

White came to the attention of the worldwide audience when Ritchie Blackmore asked him to be the lead singer in his reformed RAINBOW. They recorded one album together, "Stranger in Us All". Doogie would go on to sing with Swedish neo-classical guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen for over a six-and-a-half-year period, record two albums and tour the world. He also recorded four albums and toured with CORNERSTONE and has sung with TANK, MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST and ALCATRAZZ.

Watch IRON MAIDEN Discuss Making Of New Album 'Senjutsu'

Watch IRON MAIDEN Discuss Making Of New Album 'Senjutsu'

BMG will release IRON MAIDEN's 17th studio album, "Senjutsu", the band's first in six years, on September 3. It was recorded in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Steve Harris. It was preceded on July 15 by an already highly acclaimed animated video for the first single "The Writing On The Wall" made by BlinkInk based on a concept by singer Bruce Dickinson with two former Pixar executives. It followed a month-long teaser campaign and global "treasure hunt" for clues about the track title and concept.

A new three-minute video in which Shirley, Harris and Dickinson discuss the making of "Senjutsu" can be seen below.

For "Senjutsu" — loosely translated as "tactics and strategy" — the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai themed cover artwork, based on an idea by bassist Steve Harris. With a running time of a little under 82 minutes, "Senjutsu", like their previous record "The Book Of Souls", will be a double CD/Triple vinyl album.

Steve said: "We chose to record at Guillaume Tell Studio in France again as the place has such a relaxed vibe. The setup there is perfect for our needs; the building used to be a cinema and has a really high ceiling so there's a great acoustic sound. We recorded this album in the same way we did 'The Book Of Souls' in that we'd write a song, rehearse it and then put it down together straight away while it was all fresh in our minds. There's some very complex songs on this album which took a lot of hard work to get them exactly as we wanted them to sound, so the process was at times very challenging, but Kevin is great at capturing the essence of the band and I think it was worth the effort! I'm very proud of the result and can't wait for fans to hear it."

Dickinson added: "We're all really excited about this album. We recorded it back in early 2019 during a break in the 'Legacy' tour so we could maximize our touring yet still have a long set up period before release to prepare great album art and something special as a video. Of course, the pandemic delayed things more — so much for the best-laid plans — or should that be 'strategies'!? The songs are very varied, and some of them are quite long. There's also one or two songs which sound pretty different to our usual style, and I think MAIDEN fans will be surprised — in a good way, I hope!"

The full track listing is:

01. Senjutsu (8:20) (Smith/Harris)

02. Stratego (4:59) (Gers/Harris)

03. The Writing On The Wall (6:13) (Smith/Dickinson)

04. Lost In A Lost World (9:31) (Harris)

05. Days Of Future Past (4:03) (Smith/Dickinson)

06. The Time Machine (7:09) (Gers/Harris)

07. Darkest Hour (7:20) (Smith/Dickinson)

08. Death Of The Celts (10:20) (Harris)

09. The Parchment (12:39) (Harris)

10. Hell On Earth (11:19) (Harris)

"Senjutsu" will be released on the following formats:

* Standard 2CD Digipak

* Deluxe 2CD Book Format

* Deluxe heavyweight 180G Triple Black Vinyl

* Special Edition Triple Silver And Black Marble Vinyl (Details to follow)

* Special Edition Triple Red and Black Marble Vinyl (Details to follow)

* Super Deluxe Boxset featuring CD, Blu Ray and Exclusive Memorabilia

* Digital album [streaming and download]

IRON MAIDEN hadn't released any fresh music since 2015's "The Book Of Souls" LP, which was recorded in late 2014 in Paris, France with Shirley.

"The Book Of Souls" was the longest MAIDEN album, clocking in at 92 minutes, with lyrics heavily based in the themes of death, reincarnation, the soul and mortality.

Back in May 2019, Italian web site Maiden Concerts first speculated that IRON MAIDEN was putting the finishing touches on a new album. The site concluded that the LP was nearing completion after gathering social media evidence that all six members of the band, their wives and Shirley were in Paris at the same time. The producer even posted new pictures of Guillaume Tell Studios, where MAIDEN recorded "Brave New World" (2000) and "The Book Of Souls", saying he was finalizing a major project.

During MAIDEN's summer 2019 North American tour, Dickinson hinted at new material, telling the crowd at the group's Oakland, California concert: "New IRON MAIDEN songs — sooner than you think." At MAIDEN's Nashville show in August 2019, Dickinson said that fresh music from the band wasn't "beyond the bounds of possibility," adding that a new MAIDEN record was essentially a "certainty."

"Senjutsu" marks MAIDEN's sixth album to be produced by Shirley, who has worked with MAIDEN for the past two decades.

In addition to MAIDEN, Shirley has collaborated with dozens of notable acts, including Joe Bonamassa, JOURNEY, DREAM THEATER and LED ZEPPELIN.

During the making of "The Book Of Souls", Dickinson was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor at the back of his tongue. He recorded all the vocals for the album with the tumor before undergoing treatment and making a full recovery in time for the LP's release in September 2015.

EXODUS's STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA Explains New Album Delay

EXODUS's STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA Explains New Album Delay

EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza revealed during a recent Zetro's Toxic Vault YouTube livestream that the band's new album, "Persona Non Grata", will be released in "the third week in November" via Nuclear Blast Records. His comments came just a couple of weeks after EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting underwent a successful total gastrectomy in his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach.

Speaking about the long gap between the new LP's completion and its projected release date, Zetro said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "A lot of you guys are wondering why it's taking so long, and yes, Tom's illness had a bit to play in it. But they haven't been able to make vinyl. Nobody worked last year. So all the bands that wrote records and now are gonna put records out, they're six months behind in producing vinyl. So it's basically what it's about. So because we're very proud of this record [and] this record is very special for us, I don't think that Nuclear Blast wanted to take any stops out on it, so they wanted multiple vinyls. But I can guarantee you it'll be out in November, and you guys will not be disappointed. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed on this."

Regarding the songwriting and recording process for "Persona Non Grata", Zetro said: "I wrote a couple of songs lyrically, but [guitarist] Gary Holt wrote the brunt of this record, and it exemplifies why he is the real deal in thrash metal or heavy metal. That's why all you guys that follow him and love his guitar playing and his technique and his style, you have every reason to do that. And this record, after you hear the record, you're just gonna go, 'Wow! Zetro was right.' And then performance-wise, everybody killed it on their performance. Tom was a man possessed. Jack [Gibson, bass] was too; I think it's the best bass playing I've heard on a record for Jack. And those that have heard the record think it's the best vocal performance that I've done."

"Persona Non Grata" will be the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

"Persona Non Grata" was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap.

MEGADETH Recruits Bassist JAMES LOMENZO For Upcoming Tour

MEGADETH Recruits Bassist JAMES LOMENZO For Upcoming Tour

In just nine days, "The Metal Tour Of The Year" co-headlined by MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD will lay waste to cities across North America as the highly anticipated trek finally hits the road. MEGADETH has just announced that joining them to take care of bass duties for this tour will be former MEGADETH member James LoMenzo.

MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine commented: "I'm happy to announce that former bassist and MEGADETH alumni James LoMenzo has graciously stepped in on 'The Metal Tour Of The Year'. Tour rehearsals just began, and we cannot wait to start crushing North America."

LoMenzo added: "I'm super stoked to be rejoining MEGADETH for the upcoming 'Metal Tour Of The Year'. There are no better fans than MEGADETH fans, I can't wait to get out there and shred some MEGADETH music with you all."

LoMenzo joined MEGADETH in 2006 and appeared on two of the group's studio albums, 2007's "United Abominations" and 2009's "Endgame". He was fired from the band in 2010 and replaced with returning original MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson.

In addition to MEGADETH, LoMenzo has played with Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde and WHITE LION. For the past eight years, LoMenzo has been performing with iconic rocker John Fogerty.

Mustaine has yet to reveal who played bass on the new MEGADETH album after David Ellefson's tracks were removed from the LP following his dismissal from the band in late May.

Ellefson laid down his bass tracks on MEGADETH's sixteenth LP in May 2020 at a studio in Nashville, Tennessee.

In July, Mustaine announced during an episode of his Gimme Radio program "The Dave Mustaine Show" that Ellefson's bass tracks would not be used on the new MEGADETH LP.

In early May, on the same day that sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage involving Ellefson were posted on Twitter, he released a statement on Instagram denying all social media chatter that he "groomed" an underage fan. He also filed a report with the police department in Scottsdale, Arizona alleging unlawful distribution of sexually explicit images of Ellefson by unknown offenders. In the report, Ellefson admitted that he had been exchanging sexual text messages with a Dutch teenager, who captured a video of several of their virtual "masturbating encounters" without his consent and shared them with friends. (According to Ellefson, the woman was 19 at the time of their first virtual sexual encounter.) The 56-year-old Ellefson, who lives in Scottsdale, first became aware of the video on May 9, when the claim "David Ellefson of MEGADETH is a pedophile" appeared on Instagram. Ellefson told police he was notified on May 14 by MEGADETH that the band would be parting ways with him. Three days later, he was fired.

On May 24, Mustaine — who formed MEGADETH with Ellefson in 1983 — announced the bassist's departure from the band. Two days later, Ellefson released a follow-up statement in which he vowed to file a "defamation lawsuit" against the person who "illegally posted a very private video" of the bassist and made "false allegations" against him. He also said he was working with the police in Scottsdale "in their investigation into charges regarding revenge pornography to be filed against the person who posted the video. This person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Ellefson wrote. He went on to say that he was "taking this time to be with my family" and wished his "bandmates" the best with their upcoming tour.

Ellefson was in MEGADETH from the band's inception in 1983 to 2002, and again from 2010 until his latest departure.

ACE FREHLEY's 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Guitar Expected To Fetch Between $150,000 And $250,000 At Auction

ACE FREHLEY's 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Guitar Expected To Fetch Between $150,000 And $250,000 At Auction

Auction house Gotta Have Rock And Roll has listed a double-cut 1973 Les Paul Deluxe owned by original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley.

Back in December, 1973, after KISS was signed to their first recording contract, Frehley bought this guitar from Manny’s Music on 48th Street in New York. Ace played the guitar heavily, with over 50 documented concerts from 1973-1976. Frehley loved the guitar so much he even carved the neck heel himself with a screwdriver.

In 1976, Frehley went to Strings & Things in Memphis, Tennessee and converted this Tobacco Burst Les Paul Deluxe into his new one-of-a-kind Black Double-Cut Les Paul nicknamed "Blackie". From then on, the guitar can be pictured in Ace's collection throughout the years.

Ace eventually sold the guitar and it switched hands from collector to collector until eventually, it landed in the hands of a good friend of Ace's. He thought, after so many years, it would be nice to have the guitar reunited with the original owner. In 2015, Ace got his hands back on the guitar that debatably started KISS's illustrious career. Ace immediately recognized his old guitar and was beyond happy to play it one more time. The guitar is also signed on the back by Ace in 2015.

The guitar is set to hit the auction block tomorrow (August 11), and is expected to fetch between $150,000 and $250,000. It comes with a letter of provenance, a letter of authenticity from Frehley and a Gotta Have Rock And Roll certificate of authentic

GUNS N' ROSES' 'Sweet Child O' Mine' Surpasses One Billion Streams On SPOTIFY

GUNS N' ROSES' 'Sweet Child O' Mine' Surpasses One Billion Streams On SPOTIFY

GUNS N' ROSES' classic power ballad "Sweet Child O' Mine" has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. The achievement comes less than two years after the song became the first music video from the 1980s to rock its way into YouTube's Billion Views Club. A year earlier, the 1992 video for GN'R epic masterpiece "November Rain", broke records as the first video from the 1990s to reach one billion views.

GUNS N' ROSES injected unbridled attitude into the burgeoning Los Angeles rock scene and went on to captivate the entire world with the July 21, 1987 release of "Appetite For Destruction", which remains the best-selling U.S. debut album ever, selling more than 30 million copies globally.

GUNS N' ROSES' staying power is undeniable. With more than 9.2 million YouTube subscribers and record-breaking videos across decades, the band and their iconic music continues to inspire. Their loyal legion of hard-rocking fans from all over the world keep coming back to their classic videos, making them one of the top 200 most viewed artists globally on YouTube.

In a 2014 interview, GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash said that he wasn't fond of "Sweet Child O' Mine" when it was first written. He explained: "GUNS N' ROSES was always a real hardcore, sort of, AC/DC kind of hard rock band with a lot of attitude. If we did any kind of ballads, it was bluesy. This was an uptempo ballad. That's one of the gayest things you can write. But at the same time, it's a great song — I'm not knocking it — but at the time, it just did not fit in with the rest of our, sot of, schtick. And, of course, it would be the biggest hit we ever had."

Slash told Metro nearly a decade ago that "Sweet Child O' Mine" was the most lucrative song he has composed. He said: "It's the most covered [song I have ever written]. There are some really good instrumental versions for the piano or violin, but I've been horrified by some muzak versions. I've been sitting in a doctor's office thinking, 'That sounds familiar,' and then realizing it's someone's interpretation of what I've written. That can be a creepy feeling."

Ex-QUIET RIOT Singer PAUL SHORTINO Says He Beat COVID-19 After Taking Anti-Parasite Drug Not Recommended By FDA

Ex-QUIET RIOT Singer PAUL SHORTINO Says He Beat COVID-19 After Taking Anti-Parasite Drug Not Recommended By FDA

Former QUIET RIOT and current ROUGH CUTT singer Paul Shortino claims that he beat COVID-19 by taking ivermectin, a cheap, widely available, anti-parasitic drug that has been touted by some on social media as a COVID-19 "miracle cure."

While there are approved uses for ivermectin in people, including for the treatment of some parasitic worms, it is not approved by the FDA for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19. The FDA says that you should not take any medicine to treat or prevent COVID-19 unless it has been prescribed to you by your health care provider and acquired from a legitimate source. Ivermectin is prescribed at very specific doses for some parasitic worms. It is not an antiviral drug.

The 68-year-old Shortino, who frequently "likes" tweets that amplify Republican talking points and that are derogatory to Democrats, opened up about his COVID battle in a series of tweets earlier today (Monday, August 9): He shared an article about ivermectin's supposed efficacy against COVID-19, and he added in an accompanying message: "I got Covid took this medication with MethyIPREDNISolone known as Zpack .6 days later no Covid .And now I have the antibodies .Some friends that took the Shot died or went to the hospital.Something very wrong here. Do your own Research."

He continued: "Why aren't they giving this medication to people. My wife and myself are living proof .Oh this about depopulation .Americans need to stand together and demand this drug be distributed."

When one Twitter user told Shortino that you should "never use medications intended for animals on yourself. If you have a prescription for ivermectin for an FDA-approved use, get it from a legitimate source and take it exactly as prescribed. And don't come to Canada for it!", Paul countered: "I'll stick to what the Doctor prescribe me.And Take this with a Zpack .Because it worked."

He continued: "Reach out to Doctors in Red states .Also try Canada Pharmacies". "Join the Frontline Doctors who are Christians will prescribe this medication".

Another Twitter user chimed in, "Come on. I trust doctors and science not the internet!", to which Paul said: "I got my medication from a doctor. six days later I'm over Covid. I don't believe it's a vaccine .I believe it's a shot like a flu shot because you have to take it again later.

"I believe everyone should do what they think is best," he added. "If it's wearing a mask ,taking the shot .God Bless ✌?Red heartI'm just passing on information. The medication works no reason to lie."

Last month, a paper summarizing the results of a clinical trial seeming to show that ivermectin can reduce COVID-19 death rates by more than 90% was withdrawn because of "ethical concerns."

Dr. William Schaffner, Professor of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt, told WKRN: "The studies, unfortunately, show that this drug, as with some other drugs that have been tried, simply doesn't work.

"Some people have been getting doses from veterinarians if you can believe it. And of course, the veterinary formulations aren't set up for human use.

"Some of the side effects relate to intestinal disturbance, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, but others are a bit more serious, you can lose your sense of balance, which is not very good. And on occasion, it's actually precipitated seizures and coma. And there have been some people who have died."

This past February, Shortino told the "Ouch, You're On My Hair" podcast and radio show that he was not concerned about contracting COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. He said: "I'm not really afraid of it. I think [other] people are more afraid of it. I'm such a believer in the law of attraction that if you're not afraid of it, and you put out there that you're not afraid of it, I don't think you're gonna contract it. I know people that have contracted it who were so afraid of getting it. And then they just put it out there."

The singer continued: "Everything begins with a thought, and everything's on a frequency, so if you put out something there, you're gonna get it back. So you should only think about what you want, not what you don't want. [Don't think] 'I don't wanna get this. I don't wanna get the COVID.'"

Back in May, fellow conservative rocker Ted Nugent revealed that he also used ivermectin, along with hydroxychloroquine and various vitamins, to beat COVID-19. He added that he "took intelligent, professionally guided care" from the Frontline Doctors, a group of doctors who made a video in July 2020 calling for the use of hydroxychloroquine to battle the novel coronavirus, despite warnings from public health experts.

QUIET RIOT's fourth album, 1988's "QR", was the band's only LP to feature Shortino. Prior to joining QUIET RIOT, Paul sang on two acclaimed studio albums from ROUGH CUTT, 1985's self-titled effort and 1986's "Wants You!"

BRUCE DICKINSON Postpones Last Two Shows Of Spoken-Word Tour After COVID-19 Diagnosis In His Household

BRUCE DICKINSON Postpones Last Two Shows Of Spoken-Word Tour After COVID-19 Diagnosis In His Household

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson has postponed the last two dates on his U.K. spoken-word tour after a member of his "immediate household" tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

The news of the postponement was shared earlier today via MAIDEN's social media sites. The full statement reads as follows: "Due to a member of Bruce's immediate household having tested positive for Covid-19, it is with great regret that the final two shows of his 'Evening With' tour cannot go ahead as planned tonight at the Birmingham Alexandra or tomorrow at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. Despite Bruce himself having tested negative today and throughout this tour, he now has to isolate for the next 10 days under current UK Government rules. He is understandably very upset that he won't see you all for these final 2 shows but the safety and well-being of the fans, as well as the crew and venue-staff, obviously comes first.

"Please keep hold of your tickets for now and bear with us while we work with our promoter to endeavour to reschedule the dates. We thank you for your patience and understanding, in these still very uncertain times of the global pandemic. We’ll post all news and updates on ironmaiden.com as soon as we have a solution."

IRON MAIDEN's new album, "Senjutsu", will be released on September 3 via BMG. It was recorded in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by bassist Steve Harris.

The video for the LP's first single, "The Writing On The Wall", was made by BlinkInk based on a concept by Dickinson with two former Pixar executives. It followed a month-long teaser campaign and global "treasure hunt" for clues about the track title and concept.

IRON MAIDEN hadn't released any fresh music since "The Book Of Souls", which was recorded in late 2014 in Paris, France with Shirley.

"The Book Of Souls" was the longest MAIDEN album, clocking in at 92 minutes, with lyrics heavily based in the themes of death, reincarnation, the soul and mortality.

THE CROWN - "We Have So Many New Songs"

THE CROWN - "We Have So Many New Songs"

Swedish death metal stalwarts The Crown are set to begin work on their as yet untitled new studio album. Vocalist Johan Lindstrand has issued the following update:

"We've had a long break from playing death metal. We have not seen each other since we recorded the videos for 'Motordeath' and 'We Drift On', which is almost one year ago. Royal Destroyer came out in March. Not a single show to promote the album. Fuck this virus!

But now we are ready to grab the bull by the balls and start the next chapter. We are done resting and the batteries are charged to the max. We will enter the rehearsal room within a month and start working on the next album. We have so many new songs and it will be a blast exploring them all and come up with the ultimate The Crown album.

So stay tuned cause we are not done yet. We will soon return in full force! Stay safe and thanks for the support!"

Released earlier in 2021 via Metal Blade Records, Royal Destroyer spawned two videos, which can be seen below.

MISFIRE - Chicago Thrash Metal Trio Signs To Entertainment One

MISFIRE - Chicago Thrash Metal Trio Signs To Entertainment One

Chicago-based thrash metal trio, Misfire, has joined Entertainment One for the release of their upcoming new full-length.

In 2004, at the age of 13 and 14 respectively, drummer James Nicademus and guitarist/vocalist Jay Johnson formed what ended up becoming the thrash metal band Diamond Plate. In 2007, Johnson left that band and has since released multiple solo projects. Diamond Plate went on to release two albums through Earache Records and played multiple tours and shows sharing stages with the likes of such thrash metal icons as Overkill, Death Angel, Testament, Megadeth, D.R.I., and others.

Fast forward to 2018. Nicademus joined forces with Tommy Denniger of End Of Sanity and Sean Coogan of Vitrial to launch Misfire. Shortly thereafter, Denniger decided to follow a different path. Nicademus called the only man for the job: his old friend, Jay Johnson. The decision would ultimately solidify Misfire's lineup. Misfire has been active ever since opening shows for Iron Reagan, Sacred Reich, and more.

Comments Misfire on their union with eOne, "We are beyond excited to join forces with eOne! We are so grateful to have the opportunity to share our music with so many people. Thanks to everyone who has supported and believed in us. We will see you soon!"

Stand by for further news on Misfire to be announced in the coming weeks.

THE UGLY KINGS Premier "Strange, Strange Times" Music Video

THE UGLY KINGS Premier "Strange, Strange Times" Music Video

August 13 will see Australia-based alternative rockers, The Ugly Kings, release their new album, Strange, Strange Times, via Napalm Records.

The Ugly Kings may channel the flavor of groups like Queens Of The Stone Age and Danzig, but their distinctive, revitalizing infusion of dark energy is evident while preserving razor sharp, daringly introspective control with clever lyricism, addictive riffage, catchy melodies and a heavy power blues flavor. Following 2018’s Darkness Is My Home, which was lauded by the global music press upon release, with Strange, Strange Times, the four-piece is poised to turn heads and continues to infuse their foreboding alt-rock with blackened blues and gritty punk edge.

Following previously-released singles like the catchy yet punk-infused anthem “Technodrone” and smoldering blues rock standout "The Devil Comes With A Smile", today the Australian four-piece have shared a brand new video. The furious “Strange, Strange Times” punches from 0 to 60 at the start of its five-and-a-half minutes before frontman Russell Clark brings the listener back down to earth with his ominous, Jim Morrison-esque croons of blissful ignorance amid relentless chaos.

"'Strange, Strange Times' is about anxiety," the band comments. "The world seems to be getting weirder and weirder every year and we are becoming more and more in touch with everything that is happening on earth as it happens. It’s impossible to process and impossible to make sense of. 'Strange, Strange Times' is the low hum that we all carry around with us every day, the itch on our back that we can’t scratch, it’s the first cut in a thousand cuts. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and count to ten."

Each song on the band’s new album is about a different state of mind in this strange, strange time. Both lyrically and musically, The Ugly Kings have created a captivating and enthralling ride! In a scene in which gimmick-free, angsty, inspired rock n’ roll is becoming increasingly difficult to come by, Strange, Strange Times is a breath of welcomed, yet strange, strange air…

Strange, Strange Times will be available in North America in the following formats:

- CD Digipack
- 1LP Gatefold Black
- 1LP Gatefold Transparent Yellow w/ Red Marble (Napalm mailorder only - limited to 100)
- 1LP Gatefold Rose Gold (Napalm mailorder only - limited to 200)
- Digital Album

Sweden's FANS OF THE DARK Release Debut Single "Escape From Hell" Feat. RYAN ROXIE; Audio

Sweden's FANS OF THE DARK Release Debut Single "Escape From Hell" Feat. RYAN ROXIE; Audio

Frontiers Music Srl has released the official debut single from Sweden's Fans Of The Dark, entitled "Escape From Hell". The band is one of the most exciting things you'll hear emerging from the fruitful hard rock scene in Sweden, showcasing a tight, inventive musical approach with absolutely outstanding vocals.

"Escape From Hell" can be streamed on your preferred music service here. Listen via the YouTube clip below.

The song features a special guitar solo appearance from Alice Cooper guitarist Ryan Roxie. Ryan and Fans Of The Dark drummer Freddie Allen had previously collaborated on another project, so Freddie reached out to Ryan asking if he would be willing to add some of his guitar magic to the track, which he indeed has.

This single was mixed and mastered by Mike Palace (Palace, Kent Hilli), who will do the same for the band's full-length debut. Frontiers anticipates releasing the band's debut album in late 2021, so stay tuned.

Fans Of The Dark is an exciting new band formed in the summer of 2020 by Freddie Allen, drummer and main songwriter, and lead vocalist Alex Falk. Bassist Robert Majd (Captain Black Beard, Metalite, Nighthawk) and guitarist Oscar Bromvall (Palace, Code Red) round out the lineup. Freddie and Alex went to high school together in Stockholm, Sweden and after a few years reconnected recently with a vision to create a band which would mix the melodies and approach of classic and melodic rock with elements of the great metal music of the '80s.

Lineup:

Alex Falk - vocals
Freddie Allen - drummer
Oscar Bromvall - guitars
Robert Majd - bass

SWALLOW THE SUN Launch Video For Instrumental Version Of New Song "Enemy", Performed By TRIO NOX

SWALLOW THE SUN Launch Video For Instrumental Version Of New Song "Enemy", Performed By TRIO NOX

In all the silence, Finnish death doom masters, Swallow The Sun, have written, recorded and mixed a new album called Moonflowers. It is done and ready and will be released on November 19.

Along with some of the album formats, there will also come a full bonus album featuring very special instrumental versions of all the regular album tracks. This instrumental album has been composed for strings and recorded at Sipoo Church in Finland. The strings were performed by the group called Trio NOX from Finland.

All these instrumental songs will be launched as animated videos, which were created by Dronicon Films. One by one every week, leading up to the first single release of the main album.

The second instrumental song, "Enemy", is accompanied by an animated video created by Dronicon Films. Watch below:

The first video released features the instrumental for "Moonflowers Bloom In Misery":

Juha Raivio comments: “I know well that I should not say this, but I deeply hate this album. I hate where it takes me, how it makes me feel and what it stands for me personally. I wish it wouldn’t. But for all its honesty I got no option than also love it. That is all that matters to me with the music anyway and it doesn’t matter how it makes me feel, as long as it does. For me this album is like a mirror of a deep self-disappointment. Even I still want to believe that there is and could be more than this in me. But I don’t need or want to talk more about it. After all music means so different things to each one of us by how we have walked our own paths, and that is a beautiful thing about music. There is no right or wrong.

"After I had finished writing all the music for this record in the fall of 2020 I started to write these small instrumental versions of the album songs for the violin, viola, cello and piano. Mostly because I was wondering how it would feel like to hear all these songs first as these intimate versions instead of a full band album. It was really beautiful to see and hear these songs come alive in this way and form, recorded live in this big church in Finland. To be able to hear the echoes of this music reflecting from the church walls and feel the very soul of these old wooden instruments played by real people in this sacred place. Something about hearing the strings breathe this fragile beauty into these songs that carry so much pain otherwise. Now looking back, maybe I wrote these versions just for myself to be able to hear and feel at least some kind of a beauty and solace in these songs, maybe…

"I wanted to create the cover art of this album myself this time, so it would stand as brutally honest for me as the music is. So I painted the moon on the ‘Moonflowers‘ cover with my own blood and I decorated it with the flowers I picked up and dried on the spring of 2016. Maybe it isn’t the most outstanding looking piece of art ever made in this world, but for me it is everything. I wasn’t going to write any new music before I would have moved towards the right direction in my life, but finally all this music just forced itself out of me during the long nights of this hope crushing and neverending lockdown prison. Something grew out from that void eventually and writing these songs made me think a lot about moonflowers that bloom at the darkest hour of the night, so that name felt right to call the album also.

"All my love to you, take care."

Moonflowers tracklisting:

"Moonflowers Bloom In Misery"
"Enemy"
"Woven Into Sorrow"
"Keep Your Heart Safe From Me"
"All Hallows' Grieve" (Featuring Cammie Gilbert)
"The Void"
"The Fight Of Your Life"
"This House Has No Home"

Raivio further states, “In other news, unfortunately our busy brother Jaani will step aside from the band at least for this new album cycle, but we are happy to tell that you can hear Jaani’s backing vocals on the new album anyway.”

Jaani Peuhu adds, "Sadly, Corona virus messed up everything including the release schedules of my bands. Both the Mercury Circle and Swallow The Sun albums are being released at the same time, making it impossible for me to tour with both bands. For this reason, I decided that it’d be better for me to solely focus on MC for this release cycle.

"That being said, the upcoming Swallow The Sun album will be amazing, and I am so happy we could still do it together. I wish the best of luck to StS on their tour with it! See you in the audience!"

Lineup:

Juha Raivio - guitars
Matti Honkonen - bass
Mikko Kotamäki - vocals
Juuso Raatikainen - drums
Juho Räihä - guitars
