Steve Hackett has released Selling England By The Pound & Spectral Mornings: Live At Hammersmith, via InsideOut Music. This live recording is from his critically acclaimed 2019 UK tour. Watch "The Cinema Show" from the release below:

The concert was recorded at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, the final night of the tour. Steve Hackett was joined by his touring band of Roger King (keyboards), Jonas Reingold (bass), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes), Craig Blundell (drums and percussion) with Nad Sylvan on vocals. Special guests for this performance were Steve’s brother John Hackett (flute) and Amanda Lehmann (guitar and vocals).

This was a very special tour for Steve Hackett as it brought together his favourite album from his time as guitarist with Genesis - Selling England By The Pound - which Steve and his band performed live in its entirety for the first time. The show also featured selected tracks from Steve’s personal favourite album from his extensive solo career Spectral Mornings, together with tracks from his acclaimed 2019 release At The Edge Of Light.

Steve comments: “Amalgamating three personal favourite albums, including the whole of Selling England by the Pound, most of Spectral Mornings and At The Edge Of Light highlights was a very special live experience. Both audio and visual on this product give a mind blowing experience of an unforgettable evening at Hammersmith.”

The first set of the concert includes tracks from Spectral Mornings, celebrating its 40th anniversary, and At The Edge Of Light. Steve and the band were joined by Amanda Lehmann on vocals and guitar and by John Hackett, on flute for "The Virgin And The Gypsy" and "The Red Flower Of Tai Chi Blooms Everywhere".

The second part is the live recording of Selling England By The Pound album in its entirety, plus "Déja Vu", a track initiated for the album by Peter Gabriel, but later completed by Steve.The recording concludes with the concert encores of "Dance On A Volcano" and "Los Endos".

Progressive deathcore unit, Within The Ruins, will release their sixth full-length, Black Heart, via Entertainment One (eOne) / Good Fight Music on November 27. A video for the track "Deliverance" can be found below.

The mission statement for album six was simple: domination. Within The Ruins set out to top themselves, in every conceivable way, and with the suitably titled Black Heart, they succeeded.

Combining the breakneck precision of classic slabs like Invade and Elite with the unrestrained raw aggression of Halfway Human, Black Heart emerges from the most extended space between records with remarkable urgency and energy.

For more than a decade, Within The Ruins has reigned among the elite of modern death metal, injecting the angsty attack of thrash and the attitude of hardcore punk, while mining the best of deathcore. Vocalist Steve Tinnon arrived for his full-length debut with a mountain of things to get off his chest, screamed throughout the songs with both intensity and dexterity. He previously fronted another band that included Within The Ruins bassist/vocalist Paolo Galang, making this version of the outfit a supergroup of sorts, combined with co-founders, guitarist Joe Cocchi and drummer Kevin McGuill. As with previous records, Cocchi produced his parts as well as his bandmates, together with longtime producer, mixer, and mastering engineer Joshua Wickman of Dreadcore Productions.

New powerhouses like "Domination," "Deliverance," "Hollow," and "Outsider" take their place alongside Within The Ruins anthems like "Gods Amongst Men," "Beautiful Agony," and "Enigma." The group stands tall among their peers in postmodern death metal, technical progressive metal, and the so-called "deathcore" movement, with Gojira like flourishes of color and meditation.

Tonight, September 25th, Johnson will livestream a very special performance - “A Tribute to Thin Lizzy” broadcast live at 7pm Central. The live event will emanate from Johnson’s hometown of Nashville and will feature Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest playing alongside Johnson and his band, The Get Ready (Jarred Pope on drums, Robbie Harrington on bass). Tickets for the live event can still be purchased in advance, at this location.

Johnson became an instant fan of Thin Lizzy when he attended a concert back in 1979 in his home state of Alabama. At 15 years old, he had gone to the concert to see Ted Nugent, he didn’t even know who the opener was. Instantly a fan, Johnson bought the entire catalog and learned every song he could. Fast forward years later to 2011, Johnson was on tour as Alice Cooper's guitarist when he received a call from Thin Lizzy founding guitarist Scott Gorham, inviting him to replace their temporary guitarist on their current tour. A dream job, and with Cooper’s blessing, Johnson leapt at the chance. He continues to tour with Gorham and Thin Lizzy as well as release his own solo albums.

After incredible runs with the bands he co-founded, both Black Star Riders and '90s chart toppers, Brother Cane, and his side hustles touring with Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, John Waite and others, Damon Johnson found himself in spring of 2018 realizing there were two things he couldn’t stop thinking about; his family and his music. Johnson made a deliberate decision; to give full focus to composing an album that truly reflects his personal vision and honoring his desire to have the final say about his tour calendar. The time was right to move forward with his solo debut.

Memoirs Of An Uprising, Johnson's last studio album, was a collection that is both fierce and diverse - a powerful springboard for the musician to start his next chapter.  It was released in March 2019 and saw Johnson embarking on a series of dates across North America including a pair of sold-out performances at New York’s legendary Iridium as well as several shows with The Winery Dogs (a supergroup of rockers featuring Richie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheehan), a December run of shows supporting Clutch, and the U.S. leg of the UFO tour last February.

Greek metal veterans Rotting Christ have posted a short documentary from their 1995 visit to Monterrey, Mexico where they played a show at Gimnasio Guadalupe on April 1st. Check it out below.

Rotting Christ recently announced their collaboration with the creators of the PS4 game Mortal Shell, which featured the band's epic track "Χ Ξ Σ (666)" in the official trailer. The game is set for worldwide release on August 18.

Frontman Sakis Tolis comments: "Dear friends, we are proud to announce our collaboration with the PS4 video game creators of Mortal Shell! Our track 'ΧΞΣ (666)' is being used in the official game trailer."

After celebrating the release of their unique Spruce flavored Vodka with a live stream held at the Pyynikin Brewery in Tampere, Finland, Korpiklaani are today releasing a very special cover. Their new single "Sudenmorsian" is their take on Powerwolf's song “Where The Wild Wolves Have Gone”, which was recorded & mixed by Jonne Järvelä at his JonneStudio.

The band states: "When we were approached by Powerwolf, we agreed immediately and wanted to do something a little different and special. Once again Tuomas Keskimäki did his magic and adapted the lyrics into Finnish and made a fitting powerful tale. Of all the covers we have done over the years, this is one we are really proud of and cannot wait for everyone to hear this."

"Sudenmorsian" (The Wolf’s Bride) tells the story of loneliness and lycanthropy. The story follows a man who is inseparable with his bride, but when summer’s gentle night's pass and darkness comes, the man turns into a wolf. He realizes that if he surrenders to the call of nature, he'll be destined to live alone.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA's Max Moore-directed music video for the song "The Thread" can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's latest album, "The Act", which was made available in October 2019 via Solid State Records.

The members of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA consistently choose to both challenge themselves and the world around them. The group — Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (vocals, guitar), Andy Trick (bass), Kyle Sipress (guitar), Jonathan Gering (keys, synthesizers) and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums) — bends and breaks all boundaries on its seventh full-length and debut for Solid State Records. Pulling plain-spoken poetry through distorted discord and dissonance, the six-piece delivers a dynamic and definitive statement.

Regarding the album, Hranica said: "'The Act' is our seventh full-length and the most detailed effort of our career. The process was scrupulous in every facet. Jon, who's played keyboard with the band for the last seven or eight years, produced the album; which is a decision that's insurmountably snowballed over the past few releases. There is no common theme surrounding every song on the record, although there are notions that inhale and exhale through the LP's timeline."

"This just feels very make it, or break it for us," added Hranica. "All bets are in on 'The Act'. We tried to make something outside of the norm for rock, metalcore, or heavy music. We often hear commentary that 'rock is dead' now; I don't think it has to be that way though. Look at the corners pop and hip-hop turn. Artists just need to reinvent themselves and make something creative and inventive again. Reinvention is what we're driving towards."

With their 2012 self-titled debut album, Unisonic unleashed a storm of enthusiasm. For the first time in 23 years, the two former members (at the time) of Hamburg’s metal institution Helloween - Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen – reunited to play in the same band. More than a few metal fans might have shed a tear.

After the successful follow-up album Light Of Dawn (2014) a worldwide tour followed with memorable gigs in South America, Europe and Japan until Unisonic, still at full speed, brought their energy to the small village of Wacken where one of the biggest and most spectacular metal festivals in the world takes place every year.

The international all-star act consisting of Michael Kiske (Helloween) on vocals, Kai Hansen (Helloween, Gamma Ray) on guitars, Mandy Meyer (ex-Asia, ex-Gotthard, Krokus) on guitars, Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69 and successful producer of many top class hard rock acts) on bass guitar and Kosta Zafiriou (ex-Pink Cream 69) on drums entered the stage at 2016's Wacken festival and made the night ablaze with glorious metal. For the band it was a remarkable experience.

German-American power/thrash metal band, Them, releases their new single together with a great video for the song "Battle Blood". The song is taken from the upcoming studio album, Return To Hemmersmoor. Watch the clip below.

Return To Hemmersmoor takes up where the thematic thread of its two predecessors left off and brings the story to a gripping finale, documenting at the same time the band’s unmistakable musical evolvement. “Possibly the new material is a little tougher and more uncompromising,” guitarist Markus Ullrich compares the three recordings. “Being directly involved, we’re too close to really be able to judge. Fact is: the album definitely sounds more mature, which certainly has to do with the songwriting as well as with our general approach. From the start, Them have worked in a very focussed manner according to a definite plan. For that kind of targeted strategy you really need the right line-up consisting of accomplished musicians that are one hundred per cent behind the concept. Them totally fulfils all those conditions.”

Ullrich is referring to his colleagues, vocalist KK Fossor, guitarist Markus Johansson (Sylencer, 4ARM), drummer Angel Cotte (Demolition Hammer), bassist Alexander Palma, and keyboardist Richie Seibel (Lanfear, Ivanhoe). Although the band members live on two continents (Fossor, Johansson and Cotte in the US, Ullrich, Palma and Seibel in Germany), Them play and work together as a tight unit. When guitarists Ullrich and Johannson collaborate on compositions, frontman Fossor translates their inspirations into skilfully worded melodies and lyrics, the rhythm section puts the pedal to the metal and expansive keyboard sounds lend the songs their special atmosphere, Them are at their preferred operating temperature, which frequently culminates in breathtaking results such as Return To Hemmersmoor.

No doubt about it: Them’s new album Return To Hemmersmoor is an impressive release. The group’s diverse songwriting with its well thought-out story, the band members’ accomplished technical skills and the modern production, mixed again by Dave Otero at the Flatline Audio studio in Denver, have culminated in a haunting thrash metal opus. On the one hand, the album lives up to the role models of the Bay Area scene, on the other hand - thanks to clever references to US power metal and the band’s typical ingredients - it leaves an unmistakable and characteristic fingerprint. It would hardly be possible to pay the band and its new album a greater compliment.

Back with a vengeance and hell-bent on destruction, Norwegian death metallers, Cadaver, are back in business and ready to reign. Today, the band announces that Edder & Bile, the first full length from this band’s new incarnation of Anders Odden’s original, extreme metal vision, will be released on November 27 via Nuclear Blast Records. In celebration, the band premiere the music video for the first single, "Morgue Ritual". Watch below.

Anders Odden comments, "I met Dirk Verbeuren during the 70000 Tons Of Metal festival in 2014. He was sitting in for Frost in Satyricon  and we played 2 shows together. It turned out that Dirk was a huge Cadaver fan and at the time I had several songs in the making for what I thought might be a solo album. The idea of kicking this all into the 3rd version of Cadaver came into life and we started to share ideas. We had about 10 songs by the time Dirk was on tour in Europe with Megadeth in 2016. They played in my neighborhood and we spent the afternoon jamming. Cadaver was reborn. I started to pile up ideas for new tracks and time went by. I really wanted this to sound like Cadaver and be up to date, yet timeless. The music is what we both consider as death metal. I have my own way of writing riffs and he has his own way of expressing them on drums that just fits and sounds great.

"We finally found the time to hit the studio in early 2019 and recorded the album in LA where Dirk lives and works. The music just sparks of energy and freshness from the experience we had jamming together. We are truly kindred spirits and are in this for the long run for sure. Edder & Bile is the manifestation of our commitment to music and the start of everlasting life for the old Cadaver."

Dirk Verbeuren states, "Hallucinating Anxiety threw me for a loop when I first heard it as a teenager. As such albums tend to do, it quickly became one of my favorites. I followed Cadaver through various incarnations over the years, and when the chance to work with Anders unexpectedly presented itself, needless to say, I didn't have to mull it over. Our goal was for 'Edder & Bile' to capture the spontaneous, filthy energy of death metal. It was an effortless collaboration- things just naturally fell into place and the result speaks for itself. Feast upon this, death fiends!"

Edder & Bile was produced by the band as well as Adair Daufembach who also handled the engineering. The album was recorded and mixed at Northwood Sound Studios in Hollywood, CA. The album features vocal cameos from death metal icons Kam Lee (Massacre) and Jeff Becerra (Possessed) ensuring that this crushing rebirth has underground credentials to spare. Canadian death metal squadron, Kataklysm, have released their 14th full-length studio album, Unconquered, via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band offers the music video for "Cut Me Down", featuring Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart). Watch the video below.

New Zealand's speed metal overlords, Stälker, are returning with yet another lesson in raw and in-your-face heavy metal, breathing the spirit and danger of the glorious 80s. The Night Flight Orchestra recently released a video for "Golden Swansdown", a track from their new album, Aeromantic, out now via Nuclear Blast. The video features dancer extraordinaire Ella Snellman. A remarkable fact about her performance: The dance was filmed in one take!

Guitarist David Andersson states: "'Golden Swansdown' is a classic  power ballad based around the themes of impossible attraction and the difficulties that arise when you let your heart rule your mind. The video was filmed in the pre-apocalyptic late summer of 2019 by René U. Valdes. This might be the last shot of Earth as we knew it. Featuring Rachel Hall on violin and John Lönnmyr on keyboards. Words and music by David Andersson."

Former Cradle Of Filth keyboardist / backing vocalist Lindsay Schoolcraft has released an official video for the song "Worlds Away", the title track for hew ner harp album. Check it out below.

Though coronavirus has forced us indoors, music still flows. In the case of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Schoolcraft, she chose to look back on her gothic metal past and reimagine it in an entirely new light. She has lent her talents to an astounding variety of bands, ranging from Cradle of Filth’s extreme metal to Mary and the Black Lamb’s alt-rock, as well as leading her own project. Last year she released her début solo album, Martyr, which received a Juno nomination in the category of Heavy/Hard Sound Album of the Year.

This year’s project, however, is a different entity. Lindsay has made no secret of her love of playing electric harp, which she has combined with string arrangements for a completely different take on her discography. The result -Worlds Away. Here, she reunites with collaborator Rocky Gray (original drummer of Evanescence, who co-wrote Martyr). His subtle electronic beats add a cinematic tone, such as on “Stranger”, or thundering on album closer "Warn Me". The lilting harp and strings, meanwhile, concoct a fantasy soundtrack atmosphere akin to Loreena McKennitt or Sarah Brightman. Each instrument vies for attention, creating various moods: "Where I Fall" is a strings-driven dark-pop ballad, whereas the harp-tinkling "Masquerade" indulges in musical theater.

Most of the tracks draw from her previous works, but there are two unfamiliar faces. The title track opens the album with Lindsay’s breathy vocals accompanied by her harp. Her singing is a highlight of this record, especially when ascending into the upper echelons during stunning choruses such as on "Fading Star". Many critics have compared her emotive voice to the likes of Sharon den Adel or Amy Lee. The other, "Dance On The Strings", signifies the final completion of a song that had been sitting in her lyric book for over a decade. It deals with toxic manipulation, and the dark strings in the song feel analogous to the strings the narrator can see are controlling the victim.

This record may be worlds away from what you know of Lindsay Schoolcraft, but that works to its credit. The songs sound vibrant, and it is impressive that without listening to the original versions, one would never be able to tell these were re-workings.Worlds Away is simply beautiful and calming, and an excellent way to unwind in these challenging times, while appreciating the talent that has gone into it.

Yashira has released an all-new track and music video for their newest single "Shards Of Heaven". The new song is the first to be released off their newly announced full-length LP Fail To Be, which is slated for release on December 11th, via Good Fight Music. The music video for "Shards Of Heaven", which can be seen below, was directed by Cameron Nunez.

"The song is about how violence is used to gain power over people, and specific situations," says the band. "It's about how violence and power are used perpetually throughout history to create false realities for those safeguarded and protected from and by the violence."

Fail To Be is the follow-up to Shrine, from 2018. Fail To Be was produced by Greg Thomas (Misery Signals, Shai Hulud) and Yashira. Engineered and mixed by Greg Thomas and Chris Teti at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, Connecticut. Pre saves and pre-orders are available now at this location.

The band continues, "Writing for this record began right after Shrine was released. Seth was still with us while we were writing for this; the sound was evolving a lot from the beginning stages up to when he passed. When we decided to move forward with Ryan, all we had were very blown-out voice memo recordings of the songs, so there was a lot of necessary reworking. For the tracks to be as good as they could be, we wrote to our chemistry and strengths with Ryan, and with a much more pinpointed idea of what we wanted out of our sound, we were able to get into a groove."

"Recording Fail To Be was a different experience for all of us. We'd never been in a studio setting like we were at Silver Bullet as far as putting aside three weeks to crank out a record. We learned a lot from working with Greg and Chris on so many different levels. This setting had us eating/sleeping/breathing this record, and that kind of environment brought out a focus none of us had ever known. We were all dialed in, and we think it shows. Us, Greg and Chris were able to create something we're all very proud of making."

During an appearance on a video podcast hosted by Todd Kerns, the bassist of SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS, David Ellefson spoke about MEGADETH's very first shows in April 1984 which featured Kerry King (SLAYER) as the band's second guitarist

"Kerry King was incredible," David said (see video below). "We were looking for a second guitar player to do these gigs when we debuted the band in 1984 up in San Francisco… There was a couple of guys around, and then Kerry was maybe referred to us by somebody. And he came in. At that time, SLAYER still had makeup. SLAYER didn't really have their indentity yet… They grew up in Southern [California], so there was a lot of influences [from the L.A. metal scene]. So Kerry comes to play guitar with us. And he would stand there with just no expression on his face and watch Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH leader] play some gnarly riff like 'Chosen Ones' or 'The Conjuring', and then Kerry would just stand there and then he'd put his hand on his guitar and play it back note for note. And you're, like, 'Holy hell! This guy really gets Dave.' And [Kerry] always said. He goes, 'I saw Dave play with METALLICA opening for SAXON at the Whisky,' and he said, 'It changed my life. Watching Dave in particular, it changed my life.' So he kind of became a mentor and a role model. So [Kerry] was super happy to be in MEGADETH. And then when we went up to San Francisco, he saw the thrash scene and met the EXODUS guys and all that was going on, and Kerry saw the light. And he went back home to L.A. and wiped the makeup off of SLAYER's faces."

In a 2010 interview with Artisan News Service, Mustaine said: "Not very many people know this, but Kerry King played guitar in MEGADETH in the very beginning. David Ellefson still touts [Kerry] as being the best rhythm guitar player that MEGADETH ever had, which I think is really cool."

He continued, "It's funny, because when Kerry played with us, he would still wear his SLAYER colors. We didn't, so we would be there with high-tops and sneakers on and Kerry would be there with nails for days everywhere. [Laughs] And I remember going to his house and he was making that thing [nail-studded wristband], man. His dad's sitting on a chair watching TV and Kerry's just sitting there just hammering away, making a pentagram like it was nothing — not a big deal at all. [Laughs] And we had a great time, man. He's a really smart player and he was able to learn the stuff that I wrote really quickly, which made a huge impression on David, 'cause he still talks about it."

Regarding the first few shows he played with MEGADETH 36 years ago, King told Artisan News Service, "Yeah, it was after [SLAYER's] first album [came out]. I was an admirer of Mustaine, 'cause I saw METALLICA play with Mustaine; not many people can say that. And I was blown away by how good that kid was. And I think we didn't really know each other, but we both played B.C. Rich [guitars], so an acquaintance brought it up, 'Hey, why don't you see if Kerry will play with you. And [he] asked me, 'Would you be interested in playing with Mustaine?' And I was a fan of his playing and admired how he played. So I [was], like, 'Yeah, man, I'll help the dude out.' So I played the first five shows. Maybe that's where the original bad blood [between Kerry and Mustaine] came when I left; I don't know. But my band's always been SLAYER. I saw it as an opportunity when we played, 'cause we [MEGADETH and Kerry] mostly played in the Bay Area — I think that's all we played. But if people saw me, they would associate SLAYER as well. I've always thought about, 'How can I make SLAYER something bigger by doing something on my own?' And that was my thinking when I did [a guest appearance on] the BEASTIE BOYS album, too. I'm like, 'These guys will probably get a video. We're never gonna get a fucking video; we're in a metal band.' And if people see me with my nails and stuff, they'll associate SLAYER with the BEASTIE BOYS, and they'll think SLAYER, so that's just how I think."

Last December marked 35 years since the life-altering accident suffered by DEF LEPPARD drummer Rick Allen in which he lost his left arm in an auto accident in England. Allen had to relearn how to play drums and drum manufacturer Simmons worked with him to build a kit. The band stuck with Allen through the difficult time and the drummer persevered through an accident that would have ended most people's careers.

Allen spoke about the incident during a recent interview with Modern Drummer. He said (see video below): "I remember coming around in the hospital and then realizing what had happened to me after the accident, and honestly, I wanted to disappear. I didn't wanna do this anymore. And then I started getting these letters from all over the world… I got encouragement from everywhere — from my family, from the guys [in the band], from people all over the world. And I don't know what happened, but I discovered the power of the human spirit and just said, 'You know what? I can do this.' It was really a collective thing. It was all this encouragement I was getting from other people, and then it just manifested in wanting to succeed. And that's exactly where it came from."

Rick also talked about the support he received from his bandmates in DEF LEPPARD who stuck by him through his recovery and waited patiently for his return.

"They left the decision to me, whether I wanted to go on or not, and they gave me time to grow and develop, really, a whole new style [of playing]," Allen said. "And that's all I needed — I just needed the time. I needed the time to build my confidence and realize that I could do it. Nobody ever said, 'Well, you have to make a decision now.' I think that was the most important thing — just that time that they gave me just to find myself."

After visiting the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2006, Allen dedicated himself to helping war veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of sustaining injuries similar to his own.

Allen told ABC News in 2012: "I didn't know what my life would be like after that terrible day. It was the darkest time in my life… My desire is to encourage a support system for warriors, de-stigmatize PTSD, share their stories and offers alternative ways to pave the road to resiliency and health."

Allen makes a guest appearance on "Big Love", the recently released EP from his wife, singer/songwriter Lauren Monroe.

Ozzy Osbourne's wife and manager Sharon has revealed that another of their granddaughters, five-year-old Andy Rose, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Sharon discussed Andy's diagnosis on Thursday's episode of "The Talk", just three days after she broke the news that her granddaughter Minnie, son Jack Osbourne's three-year-old daughter, was infected with the novel coronavirus.

"A few days ago, my granddaughter Andy came down with COVID," Sharon said on the program earlier today (see video below). "And, I didn't want to say anything because it's not my story to tell, it's Jack's. So, Jack did speak about it yesterday. So, yes, there's now two granddaughters out the of three that have it."

According to Sharon, Andy and Minnie are "doing surprisingly well." She said: "The first three, four days, and then, after that, it's like night and day, the way they change so quickly. And they are both doing fine, thank God."

Sharon previously said that Minnie contracted the virus "from somebody who works for my son." She said her granddaughter's diagnosis "just goes to show you … that children can get COVID."

Jack Osbourne and actress Lisa Stelly, who divorced in 2019 after six years of marriage, also share eight-year-old daughter Pearl.

Although Sharon tested negative for COVID-19, the talk-show host said she will continue to quarantine through the weekend before she can return to work.

"I'm going to be back [in the studio] on Monday, finally," she said. "It's like, I've had, you know, a lovely place to stay... [but] I'm ready, ready to come back."

Earlier this month, Ozzy said he won't have a coronavirus vaccine despite his Parkinson's disease putting him at greater risk. Speaking on Rock Classics Radio on Apple Music Hits, he said: "I'm trying to recover so I can get... The only good thing about this pandemic, I couldn't work anyway because of my injuries. I'm hoping that I'll be booking 2022, I think.

"To be honest with you, I don't think it's gonna get ship shape until the end of next year. I think this winter is gonna be fucking bad, because you're gonna have the flu. People are, 'I'm not taking the flu shot.' You know what?

"You can give me anything, but I'm not gonna be number one on that fucking new vaccine. I don't know want to be the first one to wake up with a set of fucking antlers in the morning."

This past July, Ozzy said that he was still "not back to 100 percent" after suffering from several medical issues last year, including a fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu. Ozzy also said that he was looking forward to performing again once he has regained his health and the coronavirus pandemic has subsided.

Last month, Ozzy blasted Donald Trump's coronavirus response, saying that America's 45th president is "acting like a fool." In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy said: "In my lifetime, I've never known anything like this. It's getting worse, not better. And this guy's acting like a fool. I don't really like to talk politics that much, but I've got to say what I feel with this guy. There's not much hope left. Maybe he's got a trick up his sleeve and he's going to surprise us all, and I hope he has. [Recently], over a thousand more people died in one day [in America]. That's fucking crazy. People got to get with this social distancing and mask-wearing or else it's never gonna go away."

When the pandemic struck, Ozzy had just released his first solo album in a decade, "Ordinary Man", which he recorded late last year while recovering from surgery and related illnesses. The BLACK SABBATH singer had previously canceled all his 2019 tour plans, and the rescheduled 2020 shows have also been scrapped.

Bodom After Midnight, built from the ashes of Children Of Bodom, is currently working on new material for their debut album. The band - featuring frontman Alexi Laiho (ex-Children Of Bodom), guitarist Daniel Freyberg (ex-Children Of Bodom), bassist Mitja Toivonen (ex-Santa Cruz), drummer Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost), and touring keyboardist Lauri Salomaa - recently announced three shows for their native Finland next month making them band's live debut.

The Helsinki show on Ocober 24th sold out quickly, so a second show at Tavastia has been announced for October 25th. Tickets are on sale now.

The blood in most musicians’ veins would curdle if they all of a sudden learned that the perpetually globe-trotting team they have recorded ten albums with is about to implode. This was the fate staring Alexi Laiho straight in the face at a band meeting early last year.

As the assembly was completed, the attendees had reached a unanimous decision: the group known as Children Of Bodom would cease to exist after a concert at the Helsinki Ice Hall in December 2019. The shutdown process went as planned and the members parted as friends. End of a story that had begun in 1993.

The situation was a new kind of challenge. What went through the mind of the guitarist, songwriter and bandleader who had been continually chosen as the best metal guitarist in the world by the readers’ and experts’ polls of various music magazines and websites? Laiho brushed the dust off his shoulders and revved up the engines. A new line-up or death! Luckily, he wasn’t alone.

Guitarist Daniel Freyberg crawled through the wreckage to join Laiho in his quest. Committing to a hard-working team was never a problem for him either. But two guitar players do not a group make. It was time to start thinking about who could handle the drums, bass and keyboards. There were many options to choose from. But as Laiho had already witnessed people exit less than elegantly, he wanted to get just the right cohorts.

High-level musicianship, a cool stage presence and a fitting personality were the factors put under the microscope. Finally, the pieces to complete the puzzle were found. And the name for the new line-up? It had been right under Alexi’s nose all along.

The drummer will be Waltteri Väyrynen, who has been a member of Paradise Lost since 2015, whereas bass duties are handled by Mitja Toivonen of Santa Cruz fame. As a touring keyboardist, the quartet is joined by Lauri Salomaa.

Days before the reissue and first-ever vinyl release of their 2013 record, Virulent Rapture, British blackened death metal pioneers Hecate Enthroned have released a brand new video for the song “Plagued By Black Death”. The lyric video, created by Raf Ortega of Ecliptic Visions, can be viewed below.

“’Plagued By Black Death’ was a band favourite off the album and has become a big fan favourite too,” explains bassist Dylan Hughes. “Time has shown it to be a true Hecate classic, a song that still remains in our live set. It sits so well with our earlier and latter material as it encompasses all the elements that makes a Hecate track: epic, powerful, emotive and aggressive! This video captures the essence of the song, not just the lyrical content but the ebb and flow of the music, the timing of the piece building into that final passage which is a huge desolate crescendo. In a new interview with NME, legendary Judas Priest singer Rob Halford talks about his new autobiography Confess and gives fans an update on the follow-up to 2018’s Firepower.

The Metal God states: “We already have a strong selection of songs – practically a complete album – to go when we’re able to reconvene at some point. But we need to do a lot more work on it before we even get to the full production stage yet.”
