FINGER ELEVEN Sign To Better Noise Music; New Album Due In 2025; Audio Teaser

FINGER ELEVEN Sign To Better Noise Music; New Album Due In 2025; Audio Teaser

5X platinum-selling and Juno Award-winning rock outfit, Finger Eleven, have announced their signing to the premiere independent music label, Better Noise Music (whose roster includes Five Finger Death Punch, Asking Alexandria, Bad Wolves, Nothing More, and From Ashes To New). With 958 million career streams and over 157 million all-time video views, Finger Eleven lead the way as one of the best-selling Canadian bands of all time.

They’ve just announced a new album due in 2025 and will release its first track, “Adrenaline”, on Friday, August 2. Listen to a 30-second teaser below. Pre-save “Adrenaline” here.

Finger Eleven - Scott Anderson (vocals), James Black (lead guitar, backing vocals), Rick Jackett (rhythm guitar), Sean Anderson (bass), and Steve Molella (drums) - will join rock legends Creed as direct support on their “Summer Of ‘99” tour starting tonight, July 17, in Green Bay, WI. The tour stretches until September 28 in Atlantic City, NJ and features interchanging support from Three Doors Down, Daughtry, Switchfoot, Tonic, and Big Wreck. They will also make an appearance at Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY on September 27.

“I’m proud to announce that Finger Eleven has partnered up with Better Noise Music,” exclaims vocalist Scott Anderson. “The digital ink is nearly dry, and we couldn’t be more excited about this new team. Our new single ‘Adrenaline’ will be released while we are out on the road with Creed for the whole dang summer.  A new album is on the horizon, and so is our tour bus. See you out there!”

Finger Eleven signed to Better Noise Music prior to there performance at Adazu Militara Baze (NATO Airbase in Latvia) for Canadian military returning from deployment.

“As experiences go, signing Finger Eleven backstage on a Latvian NATO base after they just played to a squadron of Canadian military is one that’ll I’ll never forget (see picture),” shares Better Noise Music CEO Dan Waite. “It is also an appropriate analogy, as at Better Noise Music we will combine forces to bring their music to the world through our global staff and offices, from Australia to Toronto. We’ll be working them hard at radio and streaming and using our skills in artist development to expand their already large audience. ‘Adrenaline’ is an appropriate first song for us, as the whole team including Managers Dave Morris and Zeke Myers are pumped up for the new music which they will be debuting on their USA Tour with Creed.”

“We are incredibly psyched to have F11 join the Better Noise family,” says Better Noise Music President/COO Steve Kline. “The music from their new album is next level and we can’t wait to start the rollout around this massive tour. The initial response from our partners has been overwhelmingly positive. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

ORANGE GOBLIN Premier Official Video For "Ascend The Negative"

ORANGE GOBLIN Premier Official Video For "Ascend The Negative"

Streaming now everywhere is Orange Goblin's new single, "The Fire At The Centre Of The Earth Is Mine", the fourth song released from the upcoming Science, Not Fiction album, out this Friday, July 19, via Peaceville Records. Watch the official video for the song below:

Science, Not Fiction was recorded at Woodworm Studios UK in late 2023, with production and mixing duties carried out by Grammy winning producer Mike Exeter (most notable for his work with Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Tony Iommi) and mastering conducted by the esteemed Peter Hewitt-Dutton at The Bakery in LA.

From the explosive death-boogie of opener “The Fire At The Centre Of The Earth Is Mine” onwards, the band’s tenth album crackles with energy and belligerence. Following the departure of long serving bassist Martyn Millard in 2020, Orange Goblin welcomed close friend Harry Armstrong (formerly Hangnail) into the fray, making Science, Not Fiction his first studio outing with the band. With the new line-up fizzing with chemistry, the hard rocking likes of “(Not) Rocket Science”, “The Fury Of A Patient Man” and “The Justice Knife” breathe new life into some classic Orange Goblin tropes. Meanwhile, twisted prog-doom detours like “False Hope Diet” and “Cemetary Rats” take the Londoners into epic new territory, with everything from skull-shattering punk ‘n’ roll to transcendent space rock hurled into the swirling brew.

“It is a continuation of what we’ve been doing, and that’s because when we write, it’s a big mixing bowl of all of our influences and favourite artists, and we try and create the perfect band that we always wanted to hear,” Ben states. “This album, it’s just more accomplished and mature, I guess. None of us are spring chickens anymore and we’ve got ten albums under our belts now. I feel like we’re more professional in the recording studio, I feel like we’re better musicians and writers, and now with me looking after myself, I feel like my performance is better as well. It’s all moving in the right direction.”

For the last 30 years, Orange Goblin, London-based hard rock lifers, have tirelessly flown the flag for balls-out heavy metal and maximum rock ‘n’ roll. Driven by passion, persistence and heartfelt love for metal’s dark magic, Orange Goblin have always been a vital force and a risk-free bet. But while some may be content to trade on past glories, Orange Goblin view heavy metal as a lifelong pursuit. In 2024, they open a new chapter in their heroic saga, marking it with the release of their tenth studio album: Science, Not Fiction

“People have funny ideas about what heavy metal is. But to me, it’s an attitude, it’s a lifestyle, it’s not something you decide to dip into. You either are or you’re not. And it’s for life.” - Ben Ward, Orange Goblin

Science, Not Fiction will be released on July 19 on the following formats (pre-orderhere):

- CD Deluxe with Bonus track presented in a digipack with a 20 page booklet

MAJESTICA Release New Single "A New Beginning"; Music Video

MAJESTICA Release New Single "A New Beginning"; Music Video

Majestica are back with their first new music of 2024. The Swedish power metal quartet proudly presents their latest single, "A New Beginning", which is the band's first release since 2021. Therefore, the song name not only fits in relation to this, but also speaks about a new beginning and letting things come to an end. Paired with musical elements reminiscent of the 80s, Majestica unleashes a new catchy tune upon their fans that puts the band back on the radar.

As if the release of this brand new single wasn't enough, Majestica have also delivered a brand new music video for their single, which you can watch below.

Tommy Johansson comments: "When Majestica finally returns with a new song it couldn’t have been a better one than
'A New Beginning'. Not only is it a heavy power metal song with a catchy sing-along chorus, but it’s also very melodic in the style of Stratovarius, 80’s rock, and Helloween with some hints of Gary Moore. The song reflects on (as the title says) to start over, but also of something that comes to an end. But the end isn’t always a bad thing. It feels great to finally release some new music with Majestica again and to show that we’re back - back with a new beginning."

Stream the new single here, and watch the video below:

Majestica is:

Tommy Johansson - guitars, vocals
Petter Hjerpe - guitars
Chris David - bass
Joel Kollberg - drums

YES And ASIA Legend STEVE HOWE To Release 'Guitarscape' Album In September

YES And ASIA Legend STEVE HOWE To Release 'Guitarscape' Album In September

Guitarist Steve Howe will release his new solo album, "Guitarscape", on September 27 on his own HoweSound label. The album will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally as Dolby Atmos.

"Guitarscape" marks a new chapter for the YES and ASIA legend as he presents, what amounts to, a guitar masterclass.

"What I'm doing," said Steve, "is focusing on what I do well and what I love to do."

"Guitarscape" features 14 new instrumental tracks in a host of musical styles, from rock through to acoustic and classical, each bearing that unmistakable Steve Howe sound. Steve plays acoustic, electric, steel and bass guitars along with keyboards and is joined by his son Dylan on drums. Steve has written all of the tracks and produced the album.

"This album has given me the opportunity to do something different," says Steve. "I bought a Novatron Summit keyboard and found that it had a wealth of inspiring sounds. It gave me a golden opportunity to create my own keyboard structures — chordal movements and structures that I thought were a bit different. I think differently on a keyboard, I don't see the chords looking the same but then I had fun playing around with the guitar to see where that goes.

"I've utilized most of the colors, as I like to I think of my styles, and I'm always pleased when I hear them running through and it moves from a steel, maybe, to a Spanish guitar," he continued. "Because it's a different sort of album, I'm not using terribly conventional chord sequences but things that give me a fresh feeling and opportunities to improvise and stretch out as well as be melodic and make this a nice tuneful experience.

"I began feeding the tracks to Dylan. We get on great and he seems to know what to play around my guitar; it's almost instinctive. Dylan and I fit together really beautifully. We've had the chance to do this together, so it's wonderful.

"The bass parts and the keyboards are pretty interesting," Steve added. "Everything had to be interesting but also work together. I like doing things that are super fresh and this album says what I am today."

"Guitarscape" track listing

All tracks written by Steve Howe
Produced by Steve Howe
Assembled and mixed by Curtis Schwartz

Music has been a constant in Steve Howe's life. In the '60s, he made a name for himself as guitarist of psychedelic pioneers TOMORROW. Joining YES in the '70s, he helped propel that band to progressive rock superstardom. The '80s found Steve at the top the charts once again as a founding member of supergroup ASIA, and later, GTR. Concurrently, Steve developed a brilliant solo career, performing and honing his skills as a producer, releasing more than twenty albums. Together with wife Jan, he's raised a family, and steered side projects with son Dylan in THE STEVE HOWE TRIO.

Steve Howe's creative passion has put him on a lifelong journey on pathways, ranging from jazz, blues and classical, to folk, bluegrass and rock. His prolific solo career defies easy categorization, making each new album a venture into genre-bending territory that always bears his inimitable imprimatur. Always pushing forward with studio craft and virtuosity, each of his albums reflects the insights he has gathered along the way.

SEPULTURA's New Drummer GREYSON NEKRUTMAN Shares Drum-Cam Video Of 'Spit' Performance

SEPULTURA's New Drummer GREYSON NEKRUTMAN Shares Drum-Cam Video Of 'Spit' Performance

SEPULTURA's new touring drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who officially replaced SEPULTURA's longtime drummer Eloy Casagrande in February, has uploaded drum-cam video of his performance of the song "Spit", filmed during one of the band's recent shows. Check out the clip below.

SEPULTURA kicked off its farewell tour on March 1 at Arena Hall in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The sold-out show marked the band's debut performance with Nekrutman, who previously played with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.

The 22-year-old Nekrutman is one of the most explosive young players in the drumming world, having garnered a legion of fans since bursting on to the international music scene just a few short years ago.

Greyson is featured on ALICE IN CHAINS vocalist William Duvall's "11.12.21 Live-In-Studio Nashville" CD, which came out in June 2022. Nekrutman has also performed or recorded with Bakithi Kumalo, Darren Criss, Drumeo, Pearl Drums, Meinl Cymbals and has been featured in articles by Rolling Stone, Rhythm, Rhythm And Drum (Japan) and Sweetwater Music.

SEPULTURA announced Eloy's departure on February 27, explaining in a statement that he was leaving to join "another project", with Eloy later confirming that he is the new drummer of SLIPKNOT.

The news of Eloy's exit from SEPULTURA came just two months after the band announced it would celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024 by embarking on a "farewell tour" which will cover the entire globe.

In SEPULTURA's statement, the remaining bandmembers expressed their shock over Casagrande's departure, saying they were "taken by surprise" that their now-former drummer would "abandon everything related to SEPULTURA" less than a month prior to the start of the tour.

"February 6th, a few days prior to the first rehearsal, drummer Eloy Casagrande informed the band that he was leaving SEPULTURA to pursue a career in another project," they said.

"The band were taken by surprise, without prior warning, he immediately left the band, abandoning everything related to SEPULTURA.

"Luckily American virtuoso Greyson Nekrutman will take the position of Eloy Casagrande and is welcomed as the band's new drummer for the 'Celebrating Life Through Death' farewell tour."

Casagrande, who joined SEPULTURA 13 years ago as the replacement for Jean Dolabella, later took to his social media to write: "I would like to announce my departure from SEPULTURA.

"Being part of the biggest Brazilian metal band was one of the best experiences of my life. I just want to thank the band and crew members.

"It was a story of almost 13 years, in which I had the opportunity to learn and contribute with every song, show and recording. These were years of great dedication, intensity and commitment. We did 3 studio albums very well received by the critics, countless shows on 5 continents and a lot of stories to tell. So, first of all, I reiterate my thanks to SEPULTURA and the fans for everything we've been through.

"Maybe for the band's fans it doesn't make sense at this point, but decisions needed to be made thinking about new cycles that will come. We are made of choices and they are not always easy. My departure will never erase my respect and gratitude to the band.

"There is a lot to come and I hope to continue making a lot of music and art. See you on the road."

Nekrutman also commented on his addition to SEPULTURA's lineup, writing in a statement: "Today I express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible opportunity to join the legendary ranks of SEPULTURA for their farewell tour.

"To contribute to this legacy is a privilege that fills me with both honor and excitement. SEPULTURA's fearless approach to exploring new territories in the metal sphere is something that I have always admired and strived to emulate in my own musical endeavors."

He continued: "I am eagerly looking forward to adding my own spirit and passion to the mix, to connecting with the fans who have supported the band through its evolution, and to the electrifying experiences we'll create together on stage. Here's to the new chapters we'll write together, to the stages we'll conquer, and to the powerful music we'll unleash upon the world."

As part of "Celebrating Life Through Death", SEPULTURA will hit the road in North American this summer and fall. Joining SEPULTURA on the tour will be Florida-based death metal veterans OBITUARY, iconic New York hardcore pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT and São Paulo, Brazil's death/thrash metallers CLAUSTROFOBIA.

Italian Power Metal Army WIND ROSE Announces New Album, 'Trollslayer'

Italian power metal warriors WIND ROSE have officially returned to the forge, announcing a new album, "Trollslayer", set for release on October 4, 2024 via Napalm Records. Kicking off this epic new chapter is the single "Rock And Stone", a catchy medieval anthem fully inspired by the "Deep Rock Galactic" video game. This track joins the band's consistently delivered powerful hits since their formation in 2009, including viral sensation "Diggy Diggy Hole", which has amassed over 50 million streams across various platforms.

Cementing their status as one of today's premier power metal bands, the TikTok metal sensation (with almost half a million followers on the platform) is currently headlining a South American tour. This fall, they will join POWERWOLF and HAMMERFALL for the eagerly awaited "Wolfsnächte" 2024 tour.

WIND ROSE comments on "Rock And Stone": "Dwarfs from around the world, WE HEARD YOU! We teamed up with 'Deep Rock Galactic' to release our new single 'Rock And Stone', which will be the ultimate anthem of Dwarf Metal! If You don't Rock and Stone, You ain't coming home!"

"Trollslayer" follows the success of "Warfront" (2022),which debuted in the Top 10 on the U.S. Current Hard Music Albums chart. Arriving right before their biggest European tour ever alongside POWERWOLF and HAMMERFALL, this album promises to be the perfect blend of signature party anthems alongside select deeper, more serious tracks. Exploding on to the scene with viral appearances on TikTok and amassing almost half a million followers on the platform, as well as almost a million monthly listeners, WIND ROSE have solidified their reputation as a powerhouse in the modern power metal scene.

WIND ROSE comments on "Trollslayer": "We spent more than two years working on 'Trollslayer', a new Dwarf Metal opera that will entertain you with fast riffs, beer and fun.

"With 'Trollslayer', we didn't only keep all the key elements of Dwarf metal, we also brought back the fast paced rhythms typical of our previous albums.

"Both 'Wintersaga' and 'Warfront' have had a great impact on our fans, even if they have many differences in style. With 'Trollslayer' we unified all the best features of both albums and we are delivering what we believe is the best Dwarf Metal experience so far.

"We can't wait to play some of these new songs live for you. Are you ready?!"

"Trollslayer" starts off with the epic instrumental "Of Ice And Blood", setting the stage for the fiery energy to come. Next up is the electrifying "Dance Of The Axes", a potent mix of catchy refrains and guttural growls. It is directly followed by two party anthems, "The Great Feast Underground" — which overtakes the listener with crazy dwarven drinking rhythms — as well as throwing the gauntlet with the anthem "Rock And Stone", a party track inspired by space dwarf first-person shooter video game "Deep Rock Galactic". The album continues with three deep and catchy anthems — the fast "Home Of The Twilight", the upbeat "To Be A Dwarf" and the "Warhammer"-inspired title track "Trollslayer". The album concludes with the gripping "No More Sorrow", showcasing WIND ROSE's ability to weave moments of emotional depth into their music. This track proves that even the mightiest dwarven warriors carry the weight of loss and hardship!

ROB HALFORD Says His Prostate Cancer Is Still In Remission

ROB HALFORD Says His Prostate Cancer Is Still In Remission

JUDAS PRIEST's Rob Halford says that his prostate cancer is still in remission, four years after he was first diagnosed with the disease. He told LifeMinute in a recent interview (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I always take an opportunity to thank the Lord for me being here still, but also my great medical team. And guys, be proactive. Make sure you get your blood work done, your PSA [prostate-specific antigen] checked. I couldn't believe how efficient and the love and the care and the attention that health workers give to each and every one of us.

"I had my prostate removed," he continued. "I had some meds and follow-up treatment found a little bit more stuff, so we had to go in for two months of radiation treatment.

"You do what you've gotta do. The important thing is to stay optimistic, stay positive.

"I love my family, my healthcare people that want the best for you," Halford added. "So you can push through it. So anybody that's struggling with that right now, keep that heavy metal faith. With all the due care and diligence and attention, you'll survive."

In July 2022, Halford spoke about his decision to go public with his battle with prostate cancer during an appearance on an episode of the "Prostate Cancer Uncensored" podcast. Asked by podcast host and TWISTED SISTER guitarist Jay Jay French — a fellow prostate cancer survivor — when he first got diagnosed by the disease, Halford said at the time: "My PSA levels were starting to get elevated many, many years before I finally had a checkup with my doctor. And he took the blood tests and he goes, 'Man, these numbers are really high. I'm gonna take you to my guy.' I wanna say it was close to 10 years [ago] when my PSA levels were starting to get elevated. I was living in San Diego at the time. And my doctor there, he, as well, said, 'Rob, we need to keep an eye on this. I don't like the look of these numbers. Can you come in and see me, and we'll run some tests?' So this is on the eve of a big world tour. So what do you do? 'Yeah, doc. I'll just get this tour completed and I'll come and see you.' So, as you know, Jay, when we go on these world tours, they can take a year, two years, three years to complete, so through that whole touring process, I never got the follow-ups that I needed to get done, done.

"And let me quickly say that it's a guy thing, right? It's a guy thing," he noted. "I'm a 70-year-old metalhead. I come from a generation when men, we didn't talk about these kinds of things. We never really talked about our health. We always found it difficult to open up emotionally, let alone anything else. So on top of all of the things that I was dealing with on the road and having a great time, I knew this was lurking in the back of my mind.

"Anyway, so we're talking — what? — about three years back now maybe. I see my new doctor in Phoenix, and he runs the tests again and he goes, 'I've gotta get you in to see my guy.' And that's when this incredible journey started for me to battle the prostate cancer."

Regarding how he processed his prostate cancer diagnosis and whether he chose to keep it to himself for a long time before sharing it with those closest to him, Rob said: "I'm a gay. [Laughs] We gays, we throw it out — we throw it out. That might sound a little bit odd, but part of my personality and my sexual identity has just given me this… I don't hold anything back. And part of my sobriety is living your day in the most truthful and honest way that you see fit for yourself. Sure, if you don't wanna share some things, you don't have to. But I looked upon this whole experience as something that I really wanted to put out. Having said that, we did keep a lid on it for the band, for the business side of things until the appropriate moment came along for me to discuss it.

"You probably noticed, Jay, in recent years that, again, these issues of health — cancer, for example — musicians talk more openly about the health challenges that they're going through. So I was trying to make the timing work; I was trying to make it happen that was comfortable and beneficial to everybody," he added. "But initially I was telling everybody — my immediate family, my immediate close circle of friends — just because for me that was therapy. That was therapy."

Halford went on to say that beating cancer has made him appreciate being in JUDAS PRIEST even more than he did in the past.

"The health side of life is so important," he said. "And after having gone through what I did, I'm grateful and blessed to be able to do the work [with the band]. And as a result of going through the recovery process and the stars aligning and the calendar being in the right place, I was able to go out there and do my work now probably with even more intensity, because, man, to come through the other side of that challenge was, without a doubt, a life changer.

"I've always lived life to the max — every day of my life," Halford added. "It's so important for me to get even the smallest thing out of the day, whatever it might be. So to be in this opportunity is just an extra boost, man. You feel that even more now when you go out on stage and you're so grateful to be able to continue doing the work that you love."

Rob previously discussed his cancer battle in April 2022 during an appearance on an episode of Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show. Regarding his decision to mention his illness in the new chapter added to the updated paperback edition of his autobiography "Confess", he said: "I think it was important [to talk about it], because for everybody it's incredibly scary. The first thing my guy doctor told me, he goes, 'You've got cancer. I'm gonna take your prostate out. Come with me to this other room.' And my world starts really... 'Oh my god. I've got cancer...' I think that's a very natural reaction. And he goes, 'Have you got a question?' I go, 'Am I going to die?' He goes, 'No, you're not going to die. I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna do this.' They're so positive and they're so reinforcing yourself through those early few days of understanding your condition.

"And I'll tell you something, as I said in the book, I felt so terribly selfish, because [I thought], 'Oh God, I've got cancer. I've got cancer.' And then I see these commercials for Phoenix children's hospital and these little kids — little kids — with cancer fighting for their lives. And I go, 'For God's sake, you got so far in your life and you've got this to deal with and you've got the most incredibly talented people to look after you and make you well.'

"So it was a readjustment for me," Rob said. "I was really, really ashamed of myself to have that kind of perspective. But I pushed through that, and then I just got on with the job that needed to be done. And yeah, we went into gory and amusing details in that edition of 'Confess'."

Halford went on to say that cancer treatment has improved dramatically in recent years and that fewer patients die of cancer than ever before.

"As a younger person, the 'C' word [cancer], as it used to be called, for a lot of people, the outcome was gonna be remarkably different to where we are today," he said. "It's just fantastic, the way that the improvements and the way that people are treated now. It's given everybody many, many greater chances of living long, healthy lives. And so we should all be grateful for that."

In "Confess", Halford revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer after experiencing symptoms for at least a couple of years.

In July 2020, Rob underwent prostatectomy, an operation where the entire prostate gland is removed plus some of the tissue around it, including the seminal vesicles. After more cancer was found last year, he went through radiation treatments in April and May 2021 and eventually got then all-clear in June 2021. He also had an appendectomy after a tumor was discovered on his appendix.

Halford's cancer battle is one of a number of health scares the members of PRIEST have had to deal with in recent years. In September 2021, guitarist Richie Faulkner suffered an acute cardiac aortic dissection during the band's performance at the Louder Than Life festival. Faulkner was rushed to the UofL Health - Jewish Hospital where the cardiothoracic surgery team needed approximately 10 hours to complete a life-saving surgery.

PRIEST guitarist Glenn Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 10 years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but announced in early 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of the band's "Firepower" album. He was replaced by "Firepower" producer Andy Sneap, who is also known for his work in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT.

CHRIS JERICHO: 'We Had To Work Twice As Hard To Get People's Respect With FOZZY'

CHRIS JERICHO: 'We Had To Work Twice As Hard To Get People's Respect With FOZZY'

Chris Jericho has known what he wanted out of life since he was a teenager: to be a pro wrestler and to be in a rock 'n' roll band. Most of his high school friends felt that he lacked the tools necessary to get into either, but Chris believed in himself. With the wise words of Master Yoda echoing through his head ("Do or do not. There is no try."),he made it happen. As a result, Chris has spent a lifetime doing instead of merely trying, managing to achieve his dreams while learning dozens of invaluable lessons along the way.

Speaking to Neal Brennan of the "Blocks" podcast about his decision to launch FOZZY 25 years ago, Chris said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I've been playing in rock and roll bands since I was 14 years old. This is not something I just woke up one day and went, 'Hey, I'm gonna get into a band.' And another block in the music world was trying to convince people this wasn't just a vanity project. And also too — I experienced it with wrestling, [people saying], 'Oh, you're too small.' I experienced it with FOZZY: 'You can't sing. You're a wrestler.' It's, like, why? What does that have to do with anything? … [IRON MAIDEN's] Bruce Dickinson is an airline pilot. And it's like saying, 'Well, you can't be an airline pilot 'cause you're a singer,' or, 'You can't be a singer 'cause you're an airline pilot.' It makes no fucking sense. You can either do it or you can't. So we had to work twice as hard to get people's respect with FOZZY, but now we just had our sixth Top 10 hit … and a gold record and world tours and all this other stuff. So you've just gotta stay with it. And if you know it's gonna work, don't listen to people who tell you you can't do something, because everybody — not everybody, [but] the majority of people who don't understand something will just say you can't do it. And don't buy in to it."

Jericho continued: "I've written a bunch of books, but the fourth book I wrote was called 'No Is A Four-Letter Word'. And what I meant by that was, people throw around 'no' as a failsafe. It's like a curse word; it's like a swear word. 'Hey, can I [do this]?' 'No.' 'Why?' 'Well, it'll never work.' 'What do you mean it'll never work. Let's figure out a way that we can make it work. Don't just say no for no reason.' And I find that's another good kind of model for my life, is don't tell me why something won't work. Let's figure out a way to make it work, 'cause there's always a way. Always."

FOZZY's latest standalone single, "Spotlight", was released last October via Madison Records/The Orchard. The track was helmed by FOZZY's longtime producer Johnny Andrews (THREE DAYS GRACE, ALL THAT REMAINS, HALESTORM) and sonically refined by mixer Jacob Hanson (VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, ARCH ENEMY).

FOZZY's latest album, "Boombox", came out in May 2022 and featured "I Still Burn", which has more than three million views on YouTube. It also included the Top 10 singles "Nowhere To Run" and "Sane".

As previously reported, FOZZY will embark on a 25th-anniversary tour this fall. The trek will start October 3 at Madlife Studios in Woodstock, Georgia and run through October 21 in Cleveland, Ohio. Support on the tour will come from THE NOCTURNAL AFFAIR and CLOZURE.

In the spring of 2023, FOZZY spent time on the road with UGLY KID JOE as part of the latter band's first tour of the United States in 27 years.

In January 2022, FOZZY parted ways with longtime drummer Frank Fontsere and replaced him with Grant Brooks (THROUGH FIRE).

Fontsere was a founding member of FOZZY, having formed the group in 1999 with Jericho and Ward.

When FOZZY announced Fontsere's departure, the band said that he was "stepping down to focus on his family and other projects."

FOZZY is Jericho, guitarist Rich Ward, Brooks, Billy Grey (guitar) and P.J. Farley (bass).

MORGAN LANDER On KITTIE's Comeback: 'If It's Not Fun, Then There's No Point In Doing It'

MORGAN LANDER On KITTIE's Comeback: 'If It's Not Fun, Then There's No Point In Doing It'

In a new interview with Primordial Radio, KITTIE guitarist/vocalist Morgan Lander spoke about the band's decision to put KITTIE on hiatus in 2013 after almost two decades in the industry, six studio albums and several lineup changes. She said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "The industry was sort of in a weird flux position when we were doing those last tours and whatnot. And it was sort of like the transition period between like people buying CDs and people streaming music. And there certainly are a lot of elements that went into it, but I think a lot of it was just personal."

She continued: "The industry is hard, and [we were] slugging it out on the road, not really feeling as supported as I think we probably could have been by our former label. I thought at the time we were putting out some of the best music that we had written up to that point with very little return, and it got tiring. It can be a really, really tough business, and expensive as well. If you're just out there in a van not making tons of money, it's like one show after another. And it is physically and can be emotionally exhausting."

Asked if KITTIE's 2022 comeback, initially only as a live act, was rooted in the band's desire to return to having fun, Morgan said: "Yeah. I think ultimately if it's not fun, then there's no point in doing it. And that's not to say that it wasn't ever fun before and we stopped because it stopped being fun. But there were elements of touring back before we took our hiatus that were not very fun. And I think being able to step away from the situation and sort of re-evaluate, and then given this opportunity, we were able to enjoy some of the fruits of our previous labors in a way that we'd never been able to experience before. And that aspect is fun. These are big festivals. We were just shocked at how many people were excited to see the band. And for me, those things are back-to-basics, fun stuff, getting together, reconnecting, playing all of these songs that we've played together hundreds of times before. And sometimes just getting into a room together as musicians and friends and jamming and just laughing and having a blast, that's at the very core of what a band should be — people that are enjoying themselves together and making and creating together. Being creative together, I think, is one of the most fun and rewarding things that you can do in life. And being able to do it with a great group of girls, yeah, that's it. We love to play live. And, so that definitely was the main thing there."

KITTIE's first album in over 13 years, "Fire", was made available on June 21 via Sumerian Records.

Last November, it was revealed that KITTIE was working on a new studio LP with producer Nick Raskulinecz at Nashville's Sienna Studios.

Raskulinecz, who moved to Nashville from Los Angeles around 16 years ago, had previously worked with such acts as RUSH, ALICE IN CHAINS, KORN, RISE AGAINST, HALESTORM, EVANESCENCE, SKID ROW and the DEFTONES.

In April, KITTIE announced an exclusive run of North American headline dates. The long-awaited shows will see the band perform in five cities across the U.S. and Canada this July and August, giving fans a very special and rare chance to see the band play a full headline set that will include their recently released singles "We Are Shadows" and "Eyes Wide Open" as well as classic hits and some deep cuts not played live since the band's early days.

KITTIE played its first concert in five years in September 2022 at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.

Joining Morgan and drummer Mercedes Lander in KITTIE's current lineup are guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Ivana "Ivy" Vujic.

Prior to Blue Ridge, KITTIE had not performed since its reunion show at London Music Hall in the band's native London, Ontario in 2017, celebrating the group's documentary "Kittie: Origins/Evolutions".

Vujic joined KITTIE in 2008 and appeared on the band's fifth studio CD, 2009's "In The Black". She also wrote and recorded bass for KITTIE's sixth album, 2011's "I've Failed You".

After KITTIE completed the touring cycle for "I've Failed You" album, the band entered a long period of inactivity during which Morgan focused on a marketing job for a chain of fitness clubs while Mercedes worked in real estate and more recently at a software company. The group also began work on a career-spanning documentary, "Origins/Evolutions", which finally saw the light of day in 2018 via Lightyear Entertainment in North America.

"I've Failed You" sold 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 178 on The Billboard 200 chart.

BUSH's GAVIN ROSSDALE: 'I Keep Getting More Proud Of The Records'

BUSH's GAVIN ROSSDALE: 'I Keep Getting More Proud Of The Records'

In a recent interview with AltWire, BUSH frontman Gavin Rossdale was asked to name his proudest thing about his evolution as a band and as an artist. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Well, I think as a songwriter, I just keep getting closer to the bone. And I've just written another record that is closer to the bone than the last one. And I keep getting more proud of the records because I think that the only thing that happens as you mature is you go, 'Fuck, I better edit myself better,' because you don't have all this abundance of time.' I sort of look at it realistically and I go, 'Fuck' — five more records, six more records. I don't wanna be doing this forever and I don't wanna be sort of one of those people that refuses to stop when it starts to tail off with law of diminishing returns. That'd be terrible. But each record gets more lethal because it's such a big job."

He continued: "I could write a record really easily, but it's not to say that record would infiltrate the set. So when I write a song, unless I can really come up with something pretty cool, there's literally no point — no point. What's the point? 'I wrote this really mediocre, midtempo ballad. What do you guys think of it?' 'What do you wanna take out of the set for that?' So there's a degree of malfunction to it. It just ups my ante.

"My biggest growth is to be aware of my — not limitations, 'cause I have lots of weapons in my arsenal of being a musician. I'm not falsely modest. I think I've sort of learned my craft. I have a way of doing it. I'm incredibly unconfident at one point of the day, then I'm incredibly confident at another, and then I'm, like, 'Oh my God. This is awful. It's the last time I'm ever gonna write.' So I torture myself horrifically through the entire process. When I get to the end of it and I've been fistfighting myself, I sort of dust myself off and I go, 'You know what? These are all right. I just don't need to go through that process.' But it's part of my process."

Rossdale added: "I just think that as we get older, if you're a creative person and you care and you have that fire burning, and I have a real fire, it's all about editing yourself to get better.

"When I'm seeing here in this room writing songs like I've just done last week, the last few weeks, I used to be a bit, like, 'Oh, this feels good. That feels good. That bit. No, no, no, no, no. Chris [Traynor, BUSH guitarist] will sound really good on that.' … But I try not to have any of those gaps. I try to have no weak points. So it goes from me to the studio and Chris and to be going through the sort of funnel of the producer and Chris, who's incredibly opinionated about everything. So it's just the editing thing that I think is really powerful, to sort of pray to the feet of the editor in you. That's what I find is the most interesting and important thing. So I hope I'm getting better. Obviously there'll be a point where I won't, but for now we're on a rise."

Last month, Rossdale told Billboard that he was already hard work on material for the follow-up to BUSH's 2022's "The Art Of Survival" album.

"I am gonna leave here today and go to the studio to work on more for the next record," he said. "I just keep thinking forward… there's a painful, tortuous process like, 'Oh my God, what am I doing? I can't do it, this last song I did was the best song I wrote, now what am I gonna do?' And then you just sort of forge forward and you find it… so this week I'm reaping the rewards of last week's writing and working in the studio when I leave here. I like to live in the moment."

The 58-year-old musician added that he hopes to finish BUSH's tenth studio album before hitting the road later this month. "I'm definitely going to have a new song this summer," he said.

BUSH will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an extensive North American headline tour. The "Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour" will kick off on July 26 in Bend, Oregon and include shows at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey (August 21) and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (September 15). Most of the dates will be produced by Live Nation. Jerry Cantrell and CANDLEBOX will be the special guests on all dates.

With over 24 million records sold, one billion streams and a procession of No. 1 singles, the band — comprising Rossdale, Chris Traynor (guitar),Corey Britz (bass) and Nik Hughes (drums) — stand tall as rock outliers whose imprint only widens as the years pass. "Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023" (Round Hill Records),their first-ever greatest-hits collection, provides an expansive view of their incredible legacy with 21 tracks spanning nearly 30 years — from their breakthrough hit "Everything's Zen" to their latest single, "Nowhere To Go But Everywhere", which is already within the Top 20 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

BUSH released "Loaded: The Greatest Hits 1994-2023" on November 10 via Round Hill Records. The set includes a new song called "Nowhere To Go But Everywhere", which was written by Gavin and produced by Rossdale and Corey Britz.

"Loaded" includes iconic hits from each of BUSH's nine studio albums as well as "Mouth" (The Stingray Mix) from the 1997 remix album "Deconstructed" and a cover of THE BEATLES' "Come Together" that saw a very limited release in 2012.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of BUSH's six-times-platinum debut album, "Sixteen Stone", so it's only fitting that "Loaded" explodes with five tracks from the seminal album: their debut single, "Everything Zen", "Little Things", "Machinehead" and the group's first No. 1 singles — "Comedown" and "Glycerine", which topped Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart in 1995.

Other chart-topping hits included in the collection include the Grammy-nominated "Swallowed" (from 1996's "Razorblade Suitcase"),"The Chemicals Between Us" (from 1999's "The Science Of Things"),"The Sound Of Winter" (from 2011's "The Sea Of Memories") and, from the band's 2022 album "The Art Of Survival", "More Than Machines", BUSH's seventh single to top the Active Rock Radio chart. "Bullet Holes", which figured prominently in the box office smash "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum", is one of three songs pulled from 2020's "The Kingdom".

BUSH broke up in 2002 but reformed in 2010, and has since released five albums: "The Sea of Memories" (2011),"Man On The Run" (2014),"Black And White Rainbows" (2017),"The Kingdom" (2020) and the aforementioned "The Art Of Survival".

"Black And White Rainbows" was crafted after Rossdale went through a divorce with pop star/reality TV judge Gwen Stefani in 2015.

GARY HOLT On SLAYER's Upcoming Reunion Shows: 'It's Gonna Be Awesome'

GARY HOLT On SLAYER's Upcoming Reunion Shows: 'It's Gonna Be Awesome'

In a new interview with the "Scandalous" podcast, Gary Holt spoke about the upcoming festival shows from a reactivated SLAYER. The EXODUS leader, who spent almost nine years touring with SLAYER, initially as a fill-in for founding SLAYER guitarist Jeff Hanneman, said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Well, fortunately, I was free on those days. [Laughs] No, it's gonna be fun. I've had to relearn a lot of this stuff. It's been five years. And I just am approaching it like trying to be ready for whatever song Kerry [King, SLAYER guitarist] and Tom [Araya, SLAYER bassist/vocalist] decide they wanna do, so I have to relearn all of them, even if we're gonna only play a small amount of the whole catalog that I know; I don't know the whole catalog. But, obviously, I learned the hits, the ones that are gonna be there. Of course, we're gonna play 'Angel Of Death'.

"But it's gonna be fun," he repeated. "It's gonna be awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing those guys again, 'cause the pandemic happened and I haven't seen anybody since then. We talked, but I haven't been in the same room with a single one of them since I left for the airport after the last show. So it'll be a good time.

"I was back on tour two months after the last SLAYER show with EXODUS," Holt added. "So, I went right back to work, and then the pandemic happened and I made a record. I stayed more active than they did; it was right back to work. So maybe the time went by a little faster for me."

Asked what he loves most about the SLAYER catalog, Gary said: "It's awesome. The thing I always liked most about playing in SLAYER was it allowed me just to be a guitar player. I didn't have to make decisions. I didn't have to do anything but just be prepared and go out and shred. I try to play the role of almost like guitar hero. There's a lot of solos in the SLAYER stuff, a lot of Jeff's solos. I do a song, and sometimes there's two or three solos in one song. [I] just go out and have fun. They always just accepted me to play like me, and I tried to pay homage to Jeff best I could but at the same time being true to my own self as a guitar player. And it always worked. And we're old friends. For one, we've known each other since we were kids, musically speaking, so that made it simple. It made it a seamless integration, filling in for Jeff while he was sick and then after tragedy struck. I always wanted him back. I never wanted it to be a 10-year gig; I always thought it was going to be like a two-tour gig. And then a year became two, became three, and then his tragic passing. I wanted to see Jeff back."

Holt began filling in for Hanneman at SLAYER's live shows in 2011, and became the band's full-time co-guitarist as of 2013, while remaining a member of EXODUS. Holt played on SLAYER's final album, "Repentless", which came out in 2015.

Back in March 2022, Gary told Headbangers Con that he would be open to playing with SLAYER again if the band ever decided to come back. "Look, if the powers that be ever — like, in a year or something — said, 'Hey, you know what? We feel like playing some shows,' I'm there to do it," Holt said. "But those aren't decisions for me to make, or even me to really speculate on. As far as my knowledge, the band is over, and the final show was November 30th, 2019. And I'm full speed ahead with EXODUS now."

Five years after SLAYER played the last concert of what was being billed as the band's farewell tour and just weeks after King unveiled the details of his solo project, SLAYER announced that it will play at the Aftershock, Riot Fest and Louder Than Life festivals in September and October.

The lineup for SLAYER's comeback will be the same as the one which last toured in 2019: Araya and King, along with Holt and longtime drummer Paul Bostaph.

In a recent interview with Detroit's WRIF radio, station, King said that he originally had Holt in mind for his solo project but that he eventually decided against it because he wanted to keep some of the SLAYER pieces out of his new band. He explained: "The more pieces I took, the more ammunition [there would be] for people that are gonna hate it anyway. So I said, 'Gary, I'm gonna have to go a different way.' I originally thought about using [producer] Terry Date, who produced [SLAYER's] last record, but, again, it was another SLAYER piece, and I just wanted to stay away from that. So, luckily I got turned on to Josh Wilbur, and we hit it off great. And he made a monster of a record. I'm very proud of what he did."

King spoke in more detail about why he chose to enlist Phil Demmel on second guitar over Holt during an interview with Revolver magazine. He said: "I started to realize that the more pieces I take from SLAYER, the more it's gonna be called 'SLAYER Lite.' I mean, of course it's gonna sound like SLAYER; I wrote 90 percent of the last record. But if I take less with me from SLAYER, there'll be less for people to stand on, as far as making lazy comparisons. If I had to do SLAYER over again after Hanneman [who died in 2013], 110 times out of a 100, I would pick Gary Holt. He was the right guy. But the perception of people, it weighs on me, and I don't want to deal with that.

"I love Gary. He's a great player," Kerry clarified. "But I already had my one dude from SLAYER I was definitely keeping. And Phil had only played four gigs with SLAYER, so that comparison wasn't going to be there."

THE OFFSPRING's NOODLES: 'We Wanted To Prove That We're Still Relevant In Terms Of Making New Music'

THE OFFSPRING's NOODLES: 'We Wanted To Prove That We're Still Relevant In Terms Of Making New Music'

In a new interview with Matt Bingham of the Z93 radio station, THE OFFSPRING guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman spoke about the band's upcoming eleventh album, "Supercharged", which will be released just three years after its predecessor, 2021's "Let The Bad Times Roll", which came out nearly a decade following 2012's "Days Go By". Asked if there was "a sense of urgency this time around" with "Supercharged" to get it done and get it out more quickly than the last time around, Noodles said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Yeah, a little bit. We wanted to prove that we're still relevant in terms of making new music. I know that our live show has never been better. We go out and we connect with an audience right away. It doesn't matter if it's a headlining show or a festival, we've got fans there and we can get the crowd going. So you're always hoping that your new music will be appreciated. There's the live show and then there's the creating new music. Those are the two sides of the coin of being in a band. One is immediate gratification, playing live, and then the other one is kind of obsessive compulsive. You don't know if this is gonna work. Then eventually you come up with stuff you think you really like, you think is really good, and you get excited about it. Then you're waiting until the fans hear it. You don't know. You start second guessing. 'What if they hate it?' But so far the reaction to the stuff has been great. I know some journalists have heard the whole record all the way through, and and the feedback I've got has been very positive from the journalists that have heard it."

Asked what he and his bandmates do to keep it fresh and fun every time that they sit down to write and record, Noodles said: "From the songwriting perspective, [singer] Dexter [Bryan Holland] likes the challenge. He just wants to see what he can do. He keeps wanting to beat himself. He's a cross-country runner. He's been running Half Ironmans lately, and he just always wants to beat his last time. And this time he wants to beat his last numbers. He wants to have more radio hits, he wants to have more streams. For me, it's just fun to play guitar on stuff and listen to new stuff and try to be creative. I'm not as driven in terms of wanting to succeed. I'm not competitive, I guess — I'm not competitive with my old self or my new self. I just love playing guitar and singing."

Regarding the decision to release "Make It All Right" as the first single from "Supercharged", Noodles said: "Yeah, there was three [songs] that seemed like obvious choices, and we didn't have a particular favorite in mind, I guess, of those three. There's three songs that are pretty pop-punk stuff, so those seem like the obvious choices for singles. I think we also wanna release a single that's just heavy, one of the heavier ones off there, just to let the fans know we still have that stuff as well, we're still a punk band at heart, we're still these little 15-year-old kids that fell in love with punk rock. But there's three songs, and I think we kind of went back and forth with the label, with management. As far as the marketing and what goes to radio and stuff like that, those in that world know which way to go with that."

Earlier this month, Noodles told Finland's Chaoszine about the recording process for "Supercharged", which will arrive on October 11 via Concord Records: "Yeah, it was good. We worked with Bob again, Bob Rock, our producer. We've been working with him for, like 15, 16 years now. And we just get together every so often for, like, a couple of weeks, two, three weeks. He comes to Huntington [Beach, California] or we go up to Vancouver. There's a studio called The Warehouse that he likes to work at up there. We have our own studio in Huntington. And we just hang out. We talk about music and then we turn on record and try different things and see what happens.

When the interviewer noted that it seems like there is a "relaxed" vibe in the studio, Noodles clarified: "We work hard on what we're doing, especially Dexter. He focuses a lot on just minute details. I don't know how he holds all those details in his head. I'm, like, 'Man, I love it. Great beat. Great groove. Let's go.' He's, like, 'Well, there's one drum hit that's that needs to be fixed here.' Like, 'Whoa, dude. Okay.'"

Asked if they ever end up in arguments because of differences of opinion, Noodles said: "There's times when we all disagree, and Dexter will disagree with Bob, Bob will disagree with me and him, but it's always… It's never… I wouldn't even say argument. There's disagreements, but we just discuss it and we try different things. If Bob makes a suggestion, we'll try it and see where it works. And sometimes you have to sit on that. Like we'll try something new, then we go home and listen to it and go, 'Ah, you know what? I did like it better before,' or go, 'You know what, Bob? You were right. That one part needed to be fixed.' And that's how we work. And it's always good-natured."

Asked if he and his bandmates ever discuss the musical direction they want to take when working on new music, Noodles said: "Each song is is viewed separately. And then once you have a bunch of songs, then you kind of see where the record is going And then you just try to build on that. I don't think we've ever changed that much. We've never done a concept record. We never went, 'All right, we're done with this punk rock pop stuff. We wanna be metal now.' There is at least one song on this record that I would call metal. It's just thrash metal. It's called 'Come To Brazil'… It's one of the most metal. I don't know [about] heaviest. We've got a lot of heavy punk rock songs as well, but this one's probably one of the heaviest metal ones for sure. There's another one too called 'Get Some', which is pretty riff rock, almost metal."

At last month's Download festival in the United Kingdom, Holland told James Wilson-Taylor of Rock Sound magazine about the shorter gap between "Let The Bad Times Roll" and "Supercharged": "The last one took a really long time, and I'm not sure exactly what it was, but I think it had a lot to do with that I went back to school and I didn't realize how much time that was taking. [Editor's note: Dexter resumed his studies and earned a PhD in molecular biology in May 2017.] And before you know it, it's been years and years since you put out a record. And so this time we were, like, 'We're determined to get something out more quickly this time.' So it was, for us, very quick — it was, like, three years… In rock years, like dog years, that's like three months."

Asked if "Make It All Right" was the obvious choice for a first single from the album, Dexter said: "No, I thought it was gonna be another [track], actually. And we just kind of — you know, you start playing it for people around you, your, your friends and family or whatever, and then eventually the people at the label that are gonna promote it, and 'Make It All Right' was the one that kind of kept on coming back as, like, 'We think this is the one.' And I think people like it because it's very immediate — it's not hard to figure out what's going on in this song. And I think that's kind of cool. I like the idea of putting out what I would call almost a summer song. It's just kind of a feel-good song. It doesn't always have to be dark and gloomy or something that's really deep that you have to figure out. Sometimes you just wanna kind of — the joy of life, I guess, is kind of the vibe going on."

When "Supercharged" was first announced, Dexter said in a statement: "We wanted this record to have pure energy — from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it 'Supercharged'. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now. Our single 'Make It All Right' is a great example of this because it talks about the people in our lives who make us feel strong when we are feeling low — our partners in crime who make us feel all right."

He continued: "The album was recorded in three different locations this time: Maui, Vancouver, and our home studio in Huntington Beach, and together with our producer Bob Rock everything came out awesome. I feel like this is the best we have ever sounded! We've been rocking out and headbanging to it for months! And we can't wait for you guys to hear it!"

Dexter previously told the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast about the musical direction of the band's eleventh studio album: "I think it's a David Bowie quote, who said, 'You've gotta make it the same, but different.' It's funny, 'cause it's true. 'Cause if you sound too much like your other record, they go, 'Oh, it just sounds like this record.' And if you change too much, it throws people. And, of course, you've gotta ultimately satisfy your own creativity, what you wanna do. And luckily, I think that we've really expanded the circle of what we can do. We did 'Gone Away' on 'Ixnay [On The Hombre]' and we've done piano stuff and all that, but I think you have to balance that desire to grow with — you don't wanna necessarily be too grown up, if that makes sense. You don't wanna all of a sudden go, 'I'm gonna make a record like U2.' That doesn't necessarily work the best for who you are as a band. We're trying to keep that all in mind."

He continued: "When people ask me, 'What does your new record sound like?', I'll just say 'Ignition', 'cause people go, 'Oh, cool. I love that record.' So, it's not like that. It's a mixture. I think punk is the core of what we've always been, so there's always some of that on a record. And then we usually throw in a couple of oddball songs, but it's always about trying to make the song as good as it can be."

"Let The Bad Times Roll" was a huge global success, hitting career-high chart debuts with seven Top 5 and ten Top 10 international debuts and nine Top 10 debuts in the U.S. The album peaked at No. 3 on the U.K. chart and hit No. 1 on the Alternative Albums chart in the U.S.

THE OFFSPRING first achieved worldwide success in the 1990s with the release of their album "Smash", which sold over 11 million copies. Following "Smash", they continued to release hit after hit, popularizing rock at a mainstream level.

Throughout THE OFFSPRING's career, they've sold over a staggering 40 million albums, and toured arenas, and built a global fan base. "Let The Bad Times Roll" marked the band's tenth studio album and third album produced by Rock.

Originally formed under the name MANIC SUBSIDAL, THE OFFSPRING's lineup consists of Holland, Wasserman, bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy and drummer Brandon Pertzborn.

VOMIT FORTH Announce Terrified Of God Album; “Rotting Wool” Single Streaming

VOMIT FORTH Announce Terrified Of God Album; “Rotting Wool” Single Streaming

Northeast based agents of terror Vomit Forth are driven to create the most visceral death metal the world has ever experienced. They have announced their new album Terrified Of God, set for release October 11 through Century Media Records. In the deep winter of early 2024, the band headed into a cabin in the woods with Randy Lebouf (The Acacia Strain, Jesus Piece), who recorded, mixed, mastered and produced the album. Vomit Forth had an unabashed goal to make “the most unsettling, brutal and scary death metal record of all time” and across the album’s twelve tracks, they surpass it.

Preorder Terrified Of God here.

On the album’s themes, vocalist Kane shares:

“The biggest thing I want to get across with this record and that humanity doesn’t know everything. We are flawed, and in a lot of ways disgusting.  We act like we aren’t afraid of what happens after we die. I know most people like to think nothing happens and we just conduct heat.  That there’s no consequence other than how we effect other people during our time here, but I know there’s a hint of fear in the back of everyone’s mind.  Everyone feels it.  Not a single person on this earth lives without being Terrified of God at one point or another in their life.”

Vomit Forth shared the brutal early single “Blood Soaked Death Dream” in late May, and now follow it with “Rotting Wool.” The track is an exercise in brutality, pummeling audiences with angular riffs and relentless drums from the first beat of the song. The vocals effortlessly shift from guttural howls to anguished screams and moments of grunge-tinged clean vocals. A willingness to explore and incorporate influences from across a wide sonic landscape has always set Vomit Forth apart from their metal peers, with this latest song expanding on that ambition even further. The official music video shifts between gore filled 'found footage' montages and grainy shots of the band performing the song, creating an aura of disgust and terror throughout.

Kane adds on the dark and introspective track:

“‘Rotting Wool’ is about how even though we try to deceive ourselves and each other we can’t ultimately hide from the truth.  In the end we all find out if it was all worth it.  We can’t hide from it. Our own failures, insecurities, and inner pain.  We can put the wool over our eyes, but it will eventually fall away.”

KATATONIA – Tonight’s Decision To Receive Blue Marble Vinyl Reissue To Commemorate 25th Anniversary

KATATONIA – Tonight’s Decision To Receive Blue Marble Vinyl Reissue To Commemorate 25th Anniversary

Tonight’s Decision, Katatonia’s debut release for Peaceville Records, was the band's fourth album and found the Swedes further developing the more structured style explored on their previous album Discouraged Ones.

Immediately heralded as a classic by fans, Tonight’s Decision stylistically builds on the refined 'shoegazing' qualities of their previous album, while simultaneously exploring the more impactful metallic possibilities of the evolving Katatonia sound. Jonas's growing interest in singer/songwriters is reflected in the album's sound, and wonderfully exemplified by the thoughtful and moving rendition of Jeff Buckley’s Nightmares By The Sea. The brilliant combination of Anders’ haunting guitar work and Jonas's potent lyrics evokes images of urban decay and emotional turmoil in a way unique to this always searching band.

Tonight's Decision was recorded at the legendary Sunlight Studios in Sweden, with drums on the album performed by metal maestro, Dan Swanö.

This limited blue marble pressing of Tonight's Decision marks the album's 25th anniversary and features a new half-speed master for improved sound clarity.

TRIPTYKON Confirm Work On New Album

TRIPTYKON Confirm Work On New Album

After an extended period of frantic inactivity on the recording front, Swiss/German avant-garde extreme metal group Triptykon are convening in 2024 to focus on the completion and recording of material for the band's long-awaited fourth album.

The album is scheduled to be released by long-time music industry partners Century Media Records/Sony Music Entertainment in 2025. For this purpose, Triptykon (via the group's own label Prowling Death Records) signed a new, vastly enhanced licensing agreement with CMR/SME on 1 June 2024. It is likely that an EP or onstage glimpses of Triptykon's new music will precede the album.

Once the songwriting and arrangement sessions at the band's base in Zurich, Switzerland, are concluded to the band's satisfaction, Triptykon will relocate to guitarist V. Santura's own studios in Bavaria, Germany, to conduct recording and mixing sessions. The album will again be produced by V. Santura and Tom Gabriel Warrior.

In light of the fact that Triptykon was established as the direct successor to Celtic Frost, there also exists an emblematic undertone to these sessions, as they are taking place exactly 40 years after Celtic Frost commenced work on that band's debut album, "Morbid Tales".
Triptykon: Tom Gabriel Warrior (voice/guitar), Vanja Slajh (bass), V. Santura (guitar/vocals), Hannes Grossmann (drums/percussion). Triptykon are managed by Miles Hackett and represented by Jörg Düsedau for Dragon Productions.

Triptykon's previous album releases: Eparistera Daimones (2010), Melana Chasmata (2014), Requiem - Live At Roadburn 2019 (2020).

BEAUTY IN CHAOS Debut "Holy Ground" Music Video

BEAUTY IN CHAOS Debut "Holy Ground" Music Video

With their fourth album, Dancing With Angels, just a breath away (out July 24), LA-based collective Beauty In Chaos throws open the gates to the darkwave realm, sharing a stunning music video for "Holy Ground". A lush offering that features the unforgettable vocals of Patrik Mata of seminal darkwave band Kommunity FK, this marks a thrilling departure from BIC's signature goth rock / postpunk sound.

Formed in 2018 by guitarist Michael Ciravolo (formerly of Human Drama and Gene Loves Jezebel and currently President of Schecter Guitars) with Grammy nominated producer Michael Rozon (Ministry), Beauty in Chaos is a revolving evolving sonic entity. To date, BIC has involved numerous luminaries from The Cure, Ministry, Cheap Trick, The Offspring, Gene Loves Jezebel, Marilyn Manson, Human Drama, Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Van Halen, A Flock of Seagulls, dUg Pinnick (Kings X), Ice-T, guitar icon Zakk Wylde, Rolan Bolan, among others.

“I love swinging the pendulum as far opposite as possible from our previous video. I think 'Holy Ground' faithfully captures the sights and sounds of the great mid ‘80s darkwave scene that revolved around Los Angeles’ famed Scream club. This was such a great time in music. This is when I actually first met Patrik, as we shared several bills with them when I was a member of Human Drama," says Michael Ciravolo.

Both Human Drama and Kommunity FK appeared on Geffen’s 1987 Scream Compilation, with the latter gaining well-deserved fame for their MTV and club hit "Something Inside Me Has Died". Patrik Mata is currently working with Dave Roberts (Sex Gang Children) in a new project, called Kult Children Ov The Damned.

As for the story behind "Holy Ground", Patrik Mata shares, "A Watcher, a Supernatural Being, descends upon the planet below. He became transfixed, curious, & seduced by the women & Earthly pleasures & mysteries found. Ever since The Beginning this Being roamed the Earth creating Nephilim. What seems like an Eternity, The Being becomes a Fallen Angel, jaded, decadent, & tired having used & having been through every Earthling on the planet. The Fallen Angel shares its interpretation ov how this planet used to be considered Holy Ground, but now it is not. The only thing that The Fallen Angel yearns for is to return back Home. Back to The Gate.”

Released via 33.3 Music Collective, the Dancing With Angels album cements BIC's legacy for crafting captivating and imagination-stirring music with eight diverse, riveting tracks on offer. Michael Ciravolo explains, "The title was inspired by a painting from a talented German artist Maren Platzhoff, which also became the album’s cover.  As Michael Rozon and I began writing the music for this release, I knew I wanted to blend artists from our first two releases with some amazing new members to our BIC family."

This eight song release features BIC alumni Ashton Nyte, Holy Wars firecracker Kat Leon, and both Wayne and Cinthya Hussey.  Ciravolo shares, “I love bringing in ‘less famous’ but certainly no less talented artists to the fold, and I think this album does just that." Leo Luganskiy (Strangelove), Julian Shah-Tayler (The Singularity), former Silence In The Snow frontwoman Cynthia Isabella, The Bellwether Syndicate’s William and Sarah Faith, and Patrik Mata (Kommunity FK) bring immense and diverse talents to Dancing With Angels.

Ciravolo describes this album as sort of a "sonic regression and a sonic progression", noting, “I meant this as a positive thing, taking some of the post-rock elements of our debut album, the stark dark bits that run through ‘The Storm Before The Calm' and the gothy dreamy-gaze of  'Behind The Veil’. It was definitely going a bit backwards to take a few steps forward!”

Speaking of going forward, this album in its CD format includes something that Ciravolo has long wanted to do... joining the songs together with musical interludes, which he has dubbed ‘Halos’. Ciravolo explains, “These are unique soundscape interludes that sonically tie each song together, along with the album’s coda.  I do have this… probably unrealistic romantic idea that the listener will give this album at least one top-to-bottom uninterrupted listen”.

The album's lead track 'Diving For Pearls' features The Mission's Wayne Hussey and Cinthya Hussey, his wife and partner in Archeometre, accompanied by an overlapping-reality video, created by Vicente Cordero / Industrialism Films, The ‘single version’ was mixed by legendary producer Tim Palmer (The Cure, U2, David Bowie, Robert Plant, HIM, The Mission). Hussey's fourth BIC collaboration, Ciravolo says this “may just be the best we’ve written together”.

Nightrage have released a lyric video for "Nocturnal Thorns", a track from their 10th album, Remains Of A Dead World, released back in May via Despotz Records worldwide as CD, LP and digital. Find the clip below.

With the great help of their past bandmate and now producer, sound engineer, Fotis Benardo (Rotting Christ, Septicflesh, Sakis Tolis, Nightfall, On Thorns I lay, Suicidal Angels) at his Devasoundz studio in Athens Greece, and with his great producing skills, Remains Of A Dead World is a mixture of all the things that makes Nightrage a beast of integrity, they prove to be one of the last remaining true masters of the melodic death metal genre, fully unstoppable riffing, and great hooks with bigger than life guitar melodies with brutal vocals that represents the honesty and pure musical delivery, that comes straight from the heart.

The album has been mastered by a great friend of the band George Nerantzis (Abbath, Dark Funeral, Pain Of Salvation, Sakis Tolis) and his great skills gave the album a huge sound with clarity, power and analog flavor.
