FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY Release New Single + Video ‘Savior Of None / Ashes Of All’Metal band FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY is thrilled to share their brand new single “Savior Of None / Ashes Of All”. Along with the track comes a new music video, which fans can watch below. “Savior Of None / Ashes Of All” comes from the band’s forthcoming album The Nothing That Is which is set to be released on October 25th via Nuclear Blast. Pre-order/pre-save the album now at https://ffaa.bfan.link/the-nothing-that-is.
On the new track, the band shares: “’Savior Of None / Ashes Of All’ is a reflection of the inherent darkness surrounding one’s struggle to find a place of peace within the pressures of existence. The root causes of suffering that leads us to depression, addiction, etc. can be ever-present in everyone. Whether or not it materializes in a controlling way, it certainly exists as a stain on the human psyche. It’s a powerful thought knowing that we all share this potential to self destruct, and how that can bring comfort in not feeling alone, or more chaos to an already fractured human.”

About:
Success hasn’t spoiled FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY—but as any fan of the New Jersey metal sextet could tell you, there was never much chance of that happening in the first place. FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY’s acclaimed 2022 album On What the Future Holds was the band’s highest-charting release to date, becoming the first of their six full-lengths to reach the Top 25 of the Billboard 200. But while some musicians would take such an achievement as a cue to duplicate whatever worked last time, or maybe even tailor their sound to boost its commercial appeal, the band—vocalist Joe Badolato, guitarists Will Putney, Patrick Sheridan and Tim Howley, bassist Peter Spinazola, and drummer JoseanOrta—simply continued to evolve along their own path. The Nothing That Is, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY’s seventh and latest album (and third for Nuclear Blast), bears no sign whatsoever of commercial concession or rehashed past glories. Instead, the ten-song album finds the band exploring moodier textures and deeper emotions that add new power and dynamics to their already brutal and complex music, while also completely tuning out the ambient noise of passing musical trends and the expectations of the outside world. Produced by Putney at his Graphic Nature Audio studio in Kinnelon, New Jersey, The Nothing That Is is an album filled with anger, frustration and crushing despair. Songs like “Hostage“, “Red Horizon“, “Lower Purpose“,and the pummeling title track grapple with the horrors that the human race has unnecessarily inflicted upon the world, while the epic, introspective closer “The Silver Sun” reflects bitterly upon our uncertain future. Built to be listened to in its entirety in a single sitting ,The Nothing That Is flows like the gripping soundtrack to a documentary film of our increasingly dystopian existence. A ringing wake-up call for humanity and a thoroughly intense listening experience, TheNothing That Is brims with both aggression and melody, its bracing music delivered with the confidence of a band that has honed its skills and forged its sense of purpose through fifteen-plus years of all-out live shows. Sufficiently secure of their place in the metal firmament to let their music go wherever feels right for a particular song, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY have delivered what may well be the greatest album of their career.

BLESSTHEFALL Shares Video For New Single 'Drag Me Under'In spring 2023, BLESSTHEFALL — Beau Bokan (vocals),Eric Lambert (guitar),Jared Warth (bass) and Elliott Gruenberg (guitar) — dropped "Wake The Dead", its first new track in five years. It has already accrued a whopping 10 million streams.
Today, the band has shared the video for the recently released single "Drag Me Under", featuring ALPHA WOLF's Lochie Keogh. The song was co-written by Tony Cappocchi from DRAGGED UNDER and produced and mixed by Hiram Hernandez.
"The first time I heard the instrumental for 'Drag Me Under', my mind was absolutely blown away," says Bokan. "This song punishes you relentlessly then lets you breathe for about four seconds then continues to punish. I knew we needed a top-tier feature to really make this song stand out so we recruited Lochie Keogh from ALPHA WOLF. It's pretty obvious this song is totally different than anything we're ever done but still sounds like BLESSTHEFALL."
BLESSTHEFALL will embark on a headline tour. It kicks off August 28 in Berkley, California and runs through September 28 in Davenport, Iowa.
BLESSTHEFALL's notched back-to-back Top 25 debuts on the Billboard 200 with "Hollow Bodies" (2013) and "To Those Left Behind" (2015) while 2018's "Hard Feelings" marked their third straight Top 5 bow on the Top Alternative Albums chart. With the latter, Unclear claimed the band "may have struck serious gold," while Alternative Press applauded how "BLESSTHEFALL blend old-school vibes and a fresh new sound." Speaking to their enduring legacy, they've racked up hundreds of millions of streams with "Hey Baby, Here's That Song You Wanted" at 33.8 million Spotify streams followed by "Hollow Bodies" at 26.2 million Spotify streams in addition to landing syncs in franchises such as Splinter Cell. In the wake of a successful tenth-anniversary tour to celebrate "Witness" in 2019, BLESSTHEFALL went quiet for the next two years. Between the global pandemic and various other gigs, the members still kept the lines of communication open. The band now emerges from a half-decade of dormancy, and not a moment too soon.

LEAGUE OF DISTORTION To Release Galvanize Album In October; Title Track Music Video Postedto galvanize (verb, [ˈɡæl.və.naɪz]): to cause someone to suddenly take action, especially by shocking or exciting them in some way
The time has come to galvanize. Modern metal force League Of Distortion make a ferocious statement with their second album, Galvanize, set for release via Napalm Records on October 25. Two years ago, the band entered the scene with their bombastic self-titled debut album, delivering a fresh sound and unique style that interprets modern metal in a creative way.
This is showcased on their newest single and title track, “Galavanize”, which dropped today to kick start the anticipation. The song features a powerful electronic intro, hard-hitting verses, a catchy chorus and showcases frontwoman Ace’s commanding vocals alongside guitarist Arro’s dynamic riffs.
The band is composed of the aformentioned, talented vocalist Anna “Ace” Brunner (Exit Eden) and exceptional guitarist Jim “Arro” Müller (Kissin’ Dynamite), who succeeds on this album as vocalist as well. Together with the strong and steady beats of drummer Tino “Aeon” Calmbach and edgy rhythm of bassist Felix “Ax” Rehmann, the quartet is ready to add to their wins with their newest onslaught. Their most successful song, "Wolf or Lamb”, reached over 1 million streams, and beyond this, they demonstrated their raging live performance at major festivals like Metalfest, Rock Harz, Baltic Open Air, Castle Rock, as well as an absolute kick-ass show at Summer Breeze in 2023. In addition, they took various stages by storm as support for German stadium rockers Kissin’ Dynamite, metalcore heroes Caliban on their German tour, and the legendary Kamelot on their European tour. Later this year, League Of Distortion will hit various stages for their very first headline tour in fall and winter, kicking off November 15 in Cologne.
League Of Distortion on “Galvanize”: "Life has its own inexplicable rules, and it feels like the world is on the verge of destruction. Each individual existence is vested with chains and challenges. Life sometimes seems like a video game - but it’s not, this is real. With the song ‘Galvanize’, we want to encourage everyone to have the audacity to break free from what holds you back. Fight for the right thing, make a change and become the best version of yourself. Don’t let your life pass by. Be brave and take action - now is the time to GALVANIZE."
Watch the official music video for “Galvanize” below.
Starting off, the brute title track sets the tone for this relentless album, as an electronic intro is followed by a stomping verse. This soon melds with a blasting chorus and catchy melody, as Ace’s forceful vocals unleash her power and incredible skills. Followed by previously released single "My Hate Will Go On”, the intense track is a raw onslaught embodying everything League Of Distortion stands for - sincerity, honesty and incredible power - topped by hard beats and bludgeoning guitar riffs. Interchanging and irresistible, soft and aggressive vocals fire with emotion, reflecting Ace’s inner “hate” that can no longer be contained. The indisputable center of the music is her voice, as the quartet bleeds the essence of League Of Distortion into the track - bravely reflecting on the painful, dark parts of life. But instead of falling deeper into despair, the musical force turns darkness into relentless power, taking these obstacles head on.
The band also reflects this energy on tracks like “Chainsaw”, which convinces with a hymn-like chorus. With intense and empowering tracks like the aggressive and forward stomping “My Enemy” and “Suck My Blood”, the band is self-assured with lyrics reflecting toxic relationships and defending against an oppressor. Thematically similar, speeding “The Crown” further impresses with incredible synthesizers evoking invincibility. Another standout track is “In our DNA”, featuring guest genre-mates Cypecore, which addresses the long-standing debate of nature vs. nurture and is underlined by stunning male and female vocal lines. This potent combination can also be found on “Crucify Me”, which bribes with a stomping rhythm. Musically, the band doesn’t shy away from crossing genre-boundaries, proven on tracks like “What's Wrong With Her?”, which deals with the theme of envy and competitive behavior among women. The song boasts a reggae inspired intro before bursting into an intense modern metal wall of sound with electronic elements and rap-like vocals. Similarly, genre-fusing is “Anti-Hero”, with rap and hip hop-beats in the verses that build up to a hymnic metal chorus.
Galvanize is like a brutal thunderstorm of unbound energy, guiding the listener into eternal darkness while still shining with the bright, lightning-like energy that lies within. The quartet proves they’re a perfect modern metal match, combining creative performance, composition, provocation and pure emotion. It’s clear that this album is only the beginning of an untamable modern metal storm.
League Of Distortion on Galvanize: “We are excited and euphoric to share this second album with you. Yes, the relentless modern metal storm is raging on. Untamed and rampant we are again, openly and honestly speaking our minds, trying to process what's going on in this world, sharing very personal topics and lyrics and providing a badass sound-wall. Fearless of crossing lines and musically borders we created an album which has its own personality and sound.”

DREAM THEATER Announces 'Vol. 1' Seven-LP Vinyl Box SetProgressive metal legends DREAM THEATER have announced "Vol. 1", a seven-LP vinyl box set dropping on September 27, 2024 via Rhino. The collection includes the albums "Images And Words", "Awake", "Falling Into Infinity" and "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory".
"Vol. 1" traces DREAM THEATER's trajectory throughout the 1990s, highlighting the natural evolution of their signature sound in the span of an important decade and their uncanny interplay. Among many accolades, "Images And Words" (1992) not only reached gold status, but it also claimed a spot on Rolling Stone's coveted "100 Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time." Not to mention, it housed signature staples such as "Pull Me Under", "Another Day" and "Metropolis - Part 1: "The Miracle And The Sleeper". Meanwhile, Guitar World placed "Awake" (1994) at No. 1 on its "Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994." They maintained the momentum of this creative run with "Falling Into Infinity" (1997). Finally, "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory" (1999) has cemented a surefire legacy of its own. In a Rolling Stone poll, audiences overwhelmingly cast votes in favor of "Metropolis Pt. 2" as the "number one all-time progressive rock album." Classic Rock chose it as the "15th greatest concept album."
Limited to just 2,500 copies worldwide, "Vol. 1" will be followed by "Vol. 2" and "Vol. 3", coming in 2025.
Drummer Mike Portnoy returned to DREAM THEATER last October after a 13-year-absence.
Portnoy co-founded DREAM THEATER in 1985 with guitarist John Petrucci and bassist John Myung. Mike played on 10 DREAM THEATER albums over a 20-year period, from 1989's "When Dream And Day Unite" through 2009's "Black Clouds & Silver Linings", before exiting the group in 2010.
Mike Mangini joined DREAM THEATER in late 2010 through a widely publicized audition following the departure of Portnoy. Mangini beat out six other of the world's top drummers — Marco Minnemann, Virgil Donati, Aquiles Priester, Thomas Lang, Peter Wildoer and Derek Roddy — for the gig, a three-day process that was filmed for a documentary-style reality show called "The Spirit Carries On".
This past April, DREAM THEATER announced the European leg of its "40th Anniversary Tour 2024 - 2025". The trek — presented as "An Evening With Dream Theater" — is the first outing since Portnoy's return.
The European leg of DREAM THEATER's "40th Anniversary Tour 2024 - 2025" consists of stops in 23 cities and kicks off on October 20 and runs through November 24.

Canada's A SCAR FOR THE WICKED Share "Despicable Existence" Lyric VideoDizzying deathcore powerhouse A Scar For The Wicked are preparing to decimate with their forthcoming release Acolythus on November 7th, 2024. Today, they offer their a fresh taste with their new single "Despicable Existence".
The band comments on "Despicable Existence," sharing: "Theme: self-hatred, focusing on a man who is writing a suicide letter to his friends and family. He is grappling with the decision to end his own life, reflecting on how each choice he has made has led him to a profound sense of self-disgust and disdain.
Musically, This song is one of our personal favorite. Powerful, crushing riffs drive the track, emphasizing the gravity of the theme. Fast tremolo picking adds intensity over a melodic solo mirroring the emotional turmoil of the lyrics. A beautiful neoclassical chorus provides a melodic contrast, enhancing the emotional depth of the song with subtle synths in the background to add atmospheric depth, enriching the overall soundscape."
Acolythus artwork and tracklisting:
"Seven Wraiths"
"The Ophidian Offspring"
"Drowned In Gluttony"
"Golden Touch Of Eternity"
"Despicable Existence"
"Acolythus"
"Into A Coalescent Damnation"

The following year saw the release of the debut EP, Scars, with subsequent EPs The Necrobutcher and The Unholy landing in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Across their career, the band have have brought their unyielding energy to festivals around their home province, and notably have shared stages with heavyweight acts including Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Born Of Osiris, Archspire and Chelsea Grin.

ZEAL & ARDOR Debut "Kilonova" Music VideoZeal & Ardor isn’t just a band; it’s a living and breathing entity. Like any other sentient being, it consumes, evolves, and transforms from one season to the next. It has only sharpened its claws, lengthened its teeth, and steeled its nerves over the years, growing more undeniable and unpredictable in the process.
The band released their fourth album, the self-produced Greif, on August 23. Today, the band has dropped the cinematic video for "Kilonova", which plays out like a short film against the backdrop of the song's tension.
"A 'Kilonova' is when two supernovas collide," band leader Manguel Gagneux states. "It's the type of grandeur I'm after."
After gathering tens of millions of streams and earning widespread critical acclaim, Zeal & Ardor prove as dynamic and dangerous as ever on fourth full-length, self-produced album, Greif.
Rather than stagnating, basking in global acclaim garnered from three previous albums - Devil Is Fine [2017], Stranger Fruit [2018] and Zeal & Ardor [2022] - Manuel opted to shake things up for Greif. Instead of creatively flying solo again, this time he welcomed his bandmates into the studio, featuring three voices for the first time and emboldening the sound from every angle. As such, the musicians - Tiziano Volante [guitar], Marc Obrist [vocals], Denis Wagner [vocals], Lukas Kurmann [bass], and Marco Von Allmen [drums] - spread their wings alongside him. Decamping to Marc’s studio Hutch Sounds in Switzerland, the record came to life in just five months.
“We've really evolved into a tight-knit unit,” explains Marc. “Before Zeal & Ardor, we were basically strangers, but we're like a little family now. Each member brings his own unique flavor to the mix, and we all try to make Manuel’s songs better in our own way. The most interesting part for me was the new approach of how we work together in the studio.”
“I wanted to expand upon what we had and introduce new colors,” Manuel continues. “There are angry and accusatory moments, but there’s also some solace and happiness. I’m widening the palette of colors we have to paint with. These are avenues we haven’t tried.”
Tracklisting:
“the Bird, the Lion, and the Wildkin”
“Fend You Off”

“369”
“Thrill”
“une ville vide”
“Sugarcoat”
“Solace”
“Hide In Shade”

“Clawing Out”:
The band will tour Europe, supporting Heilung along with their own headline club shows, before hitting North America with a headline tour that kicks off November 23 in Philadelphia and runs through December 18 in Dallas. Gaerea and Zetra will be North American support.
Zeal & Ardor return to the UK for one headline show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on September 22.

OV SULFUR Release "Untruth" Single And VisualizerJust days ahead of kicking off their tour supporting Century Media labelmates in deathcore, Signs Of The Swarm, Las Vegas-based blackened deathcore blasphemers, Ov Sulfur, have unleashed the final b-side from acclaimed debut LP, The Burden Ov Faith (2023). Stream "Untruth" here; watch the visualizer below.
"It's funny that one of the first songs we started writing for the album is the last one we're dropping from the sessions," admits guitarist/vocalist Chase Wilson. "What you hear is what we settled on after many evolutions, with Ricky [Hoover, vocals] pleading with those who use religion as a crutch to realize they've been terribly misled. What will it take and when will we learn that we must burn every inch of the lie that has been instilled into us from a young age?"
The Decade Of The Swarm Tour will be Ov Sulfur's first tour since a wildly successful co-headlining jaunt with fellow label-mates Mental Cruelty, alongside Ghost Bath and Extermination Dismemberment. This jaunt is less kvlt, finding the Century Media duo Ov Sulfur and Signs Of The Swarm heading out with nu metalcore trailblazers Cane Hill, nu metallic hardcore moshers 156/Silence and eldritch blackened deathcore ghouls A Wake In Providence, who add a more gothic take on the genre.

AMERICA Announce "Ride On Tour 2024"; Live From The Hollywood Bowl 1975 Album Due In SeptemberThe iconic multi-platinum-selling group, America, are celebrating their 54th anniversary with a series of national tour dates in 2024. Billed as the “Ride On Tour 2024”, it launched July 18 in Minneapolis and will continue throughout the year. Known for their timeless magic and powerful performances, the Grammy Award-winning perennial classic-rock favorite will draw on their deep catalog of hits including signature song “A Horse With No Name,” a Number One smash on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1972.
Tickets are on sale now here. Dates below.
Meanwhile, America will release a new live album, America - Live From The Hollywood Bowl 1975 (Primary Wave Music; distributed by Sun Records), on September 6. Previously available as a Record Store Day exclusive, this album features never-before-heard recordings of their iconic 1975 performance backed by a symphony conducted by the legendary George Martin and will now be widely released on CD, a new red vinyl variant, and digitally for the first time ever. This extraordinary performance has been preserved in never-before-heard tapes that were recently restored and remastered for this special release.
On their way to becoming a global household name, America's journey found them exploring a wide variety of musical terrain. Their best-known tunes, which also include "I Need You," "Ventura Highway," "Don't Cross The River," "Tin Man," "Lonely People," and "Sister Golden Hair," were cornerstones of 1970's Top 40 and FM rock radio. Yet beyond their impressive catalog of hits, listeners would discover there was always much more to America than surface perceptions. The combination of melodic pop rock and folk-jazz elements, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with other more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics.
America's albums - six certified gold and/or platinum, with their first greatest hits collection, History, hitting four plus million in sales--displayed a fuller range of the trio's talents than did their singles. Their material encompassed an ambitious artistic swath; from effects-laden rockers to oddball medleys to soul-bearing ballads, America displayed a flawless blend of disparate genres and styles as wide-open as the great American plains.
Enjoying massive success early in their career, America earned their stripes as musical soldiers on the battlefield amidst the excess, craziness, and chaos of the 70's. The trio won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1972 and began working with George Martin and Geoff Emerick in 1974. This successful team went on to record seven albums and several Top Ten hits, including "Tin Man," "Sister Golden Hair" and "Lonely People."
Their growth as singers, songwriters and musicians has continued into the present day as illustrated by landmark releases such as 2000's Highway 3-disc box set, 2002's Holiday Harmony, an album comprised of seasonal classics and live showcases, 2007's Here & Now, 2009's Live In Concert: Wildwood Springs, 2011's Back Pages, and 2015's Lost And Found and America: Archives Vol. 1.
In 2020, the band released their ultimate 8-disc anniversary box set, Half Century (America Records), and streamed their concert special America - Live at the London Palladium for the very first time (it is commercially available as a DVD and CD). 2020 also saw the release of the book “America, The Band, An Authorized Biography” by journalist Jude Warne. She weaves original interviews with the band and many others into a dynamic cultural history of America, the band, and America, the nation. Billy Bob Thornton wrote the foreword.
As further testament to the band’s staying power and influence, America’s recordings have been licensed for a multitude of placements in films (including American Hustle, The Nice Guys, The Last Unicorn and Girl Most Likely), television shows (among them The Sopranos, Friends, Breaking Bad and Saturday Night Live) and video games (including Grand Theft Auto). See their soundtrack credits on IMDB here.
From their formative years, America has been a band capable of transcending borders with its uplifting music and positive message. Embracing a rainbow of divergent cultures, America's audiences continue to grow, comprising a loyal legion of first, second and third generation fans, all bearing testament to the group's enduring appeal.

BAD RELIGION Cancels Fall 2024 Tour Due To 'An Unforeseen Family Circumstance'Punk rock veterans BAD RELIGION have scrapped their previously announced fall 2024 tour.
"Due to an unforeseen family circumstance, we are cancelling our upcoming fall tour," the band wrote on social media on Tuesday, August 27.
"We apologize for any disappointment and disruption this may cause. We appreciate your understanding."
Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.
Having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020, BAD RELIGION formed in 1980 in the suburbs of Los Angeles. The band has become synonymous with intelligent and provocative West Coast punk rock and are considered one of the most influential and important bands in the genre. BAD RELIGION has continually pushed social boundaries and questioned authority and beliefs armed only with propulsive guitars, charging drumbeats, thoughtful lyrics and an undying will to inspire and provoke anyone who will listen.
The band released its 17th studio album, "Age Of Unreason", in 2019. The critically acclaimed record offers a fiery and intensely relevant musical response to the times, with songs that address a myriad of socio-political maladies, including conspiracy theories, racist rallies, Trump's election, the erosion of the middle class, alternative facts and more. There is a stylistic consistency to the band's iconic and influential sound — hard fast beats, big hooks and rousing choruses, yet each new song remains distinctive, utilizing composition, melody and lyrics to deliver a unique narrative consistent with the band's longstanding humanist worldview.
In December 2020, BAD RELIGION celebrated its 40 years of making music with "Decades", a four-episode online streaming event captured live at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, California. The band felt it important to commemorate the conclusion of 2020 as a strange moment in history when they reached that 40-year milestone. The celebratory episodes included live performance footage, exclusive interviews, and a peek at their rehearsals leading up to the taping of "Decades".
In August 2020, BAD RELIGION released its autobiography, "Do What You Want: The Story Of Bad Religion", written with the group's full cooperation and support. It reveals the ups and downs of the band's 40-year career, from their beginnings as teenagers experimenting in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed "The Hell Hole" to headlining major music festivals around the world. The book predominantly features the four principal voices of BAD RELIGION in a hybrid oral history/narrative format: Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz, Jay Bentley and Brian Baker. It also includes rare photos and never-before-seen material from their archives.

STEVE HARRIS Says There Is No New IRON MAIDEN Music In The Works At The MomentIn an interview with Australia's "Everblack" podcast, Steve Harris was asked if there is any new music from IRON MAIDEN on the way. The MAIDEN bassist responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "No, not at the moment. There's nothing in the works at the moment. But that's not to say there won't be.
"Bruce [Dickinson, IRON MAIDEN singer] has only just done his solo tour. So he spent quite a long time just doing that. So, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we'll find time to cram [a new album] in somewhere. You never know."
Regarding his plans for the rest of the year, Steve said: "I'm on tour for the next four months [with IRON MAIDEN and side project BRITISH LION] up till Christmas. So I'm not really sure what we're doing after that. I suppose we'll probably take a break with MAIDEN for a little while. I've got no plans at the moment for anything with BRITISH LION early part of next year. But if something comes in, I find it difficult to turn stuff down. So, we'll see."
MAIDEN's latest album, "Senjutsu", was released in September 2021 via BMG. The band's first LP in six years was recorded in 2019 in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Harris. It features three tracks whose running time exceeds 10 minutes each.
For "Senjutsu" — loosely translated as "tactics and strategy" — the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai-themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Harris.
In the U.S., "Senjutsu" bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, charting higher than even the band's early classics like "Powerslave" and "The Number Of The Beast". Nearly 90 percent of the LP's 64,000 equivalent album units earned came from pure album sales. The critically acclaimed double album debuted one place higher than 2015's "The Book Of Souls" and 2010's "The Final Frontier", which both peaked at No. 4.
"Senjutsu" was MAIDEN's 13th album to top in the Top 40 in the U.S.
According to Billboard, "Senjutsu" logged the second-largest week of 2021 for a hard rock album in both equivalent album units earned and in traditional album sales.
"Senjutsu" topped the charts in several European countries upon its release, including in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland.

DAVID ELLEFSON: '20 Years From Now, Are Young People Gonna Even Care About Playing Guitar Anymore?'In a new interview with the WSOU 89.5 FM radio station, former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson was asked if he thinks there are a lot of problems facing metal musicians today. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I don't think in metal there's a problem. Honestly, what I think about — I think about, like, so after we die, whether that's 20 years from now or whatever, our generation pushes through, are young people gonna even care about playing guitar anymore? Like putting a guitar into an amp… 'Cause for me, to have a flying V, a Marshall stack, grow your hair, go be a rock star, that was something to aspire toward, and I don't feel like that's something to aspire toward now, 'cause people are into their phones and devices and they're just into different things. You see people on YouTube, there's people who are bedroom shredders who just play circles around all of us. Of course, we invented that music that they're playing, but they play so good. I mean, my daughter taught herself how to play guitar on YouTube; she's an incredibly gifted artist. But these resources that are available… Look, I taught myself how to play bass in my basement on the farm in Minnesota. I was musically educated on piano and saxophone and stuff, so I had the musical aptitude to sit down with bass books and teach myself how to play and then start listening to records and just basically emulate my heroes and what they were doing and put my own bands together. So I guess on some level, maybe I'm the same thing."
He continued: "It's funny, there was a Fender IPO that was gonna happen, to take Fender public some years back, and they didn't end up doing it. But I remember just kind of looking at the prospectus, and a lot of it was kind of Asia-based. And I remember Kiko [Loureiro, former MEGADETH guitarist] and I were over there with MEGADETH a few years back, and I remember we were stuck in traffic in China, as you would be, talking to each other, going, 'Imagine all guitar music, whether it's early blues people to Elvis [Presley] to [Jimi] Hendrix to the current MEGADETH album, this century of our music, has only been known in China for the last 20 years.' That's how recent the electric guitar and everything from Eddie Van Halen to whoever the latest, greatest guy is today. So I was just kind of thinking globally maybe the next wave of music or whatever, it isn't gonna come from the Western world. Maybe it's not gonna come from Europe and America, like it has traditionally over the last 50, 60 years of rock and roll and heavy metal and all this kind of stuff. Maybe it'll come from somewhere else. But a lot of it is culturally based too. 'Cause let's face it, that's why we like what we like. It's because it culturally backlashes against something. It's our anarchy. It's our rebellious theme song. It's more than just a song. It's sort of what the song represents to us in our life."
Ellefson added: "Over the years in my career, 40 years professionally, since I was starting out here in California back in '83, I've seen a lot of stuff from hair metal to thrash metal to NIRVANA to nu metal to everything else. And then kind of a resurgence of thrash metal again in the 2000s with LAMB OF GOD, and AVENGED SEVENFOLD becomes the new METALLICA and all this stuff. And you kind of see history repeat itself a little bit with the next bands. NIRVANA wasn't everybody's thing if you're a metalhead. I liked them. I thought they were cool. I got it. I got what they were doing, 'cause I'm into punk rock music as well. But that was that generation's voice, that was their song. And even though it wasn't really my song, I could appreciate that it was their song. So I think that's kind of how I've viewed this stuff. Elvis wasn't my song — it was my mom's song; my mom was a huge Elvis fan — and now years later I read books about Elvis and, of course, the Elvis movie came out, and he was the total ultimate punk rocker, man. He was totally turning the tide, pissing everyone off and making parents nervous. And that's the ultimate rock star."
Ellefson was fired from MEGADETH more than three years ago after sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage involving the bassist were posted on Twitter.
David was in MEGADETH from the band's inception in 1983 to 2002, and again from 2010 until his latest exit.
In 2004, Ellefson filed an $18.5-million lawsuit against Dave Mustaine, alleging the MEGADETH leader shortchanged him on profits and backed out of a deal to turn Megadeth Inc. over to him when the band broke up in 2002. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed and Ellefson rejoined MEGADETH in 2010. 2

Prog Artist TIM BOWNESS Releases New Single And Video "Lost/Not Lost"; Powder Dry Album Due In SeptemberThe new single from British singer, songwriter, producer and prog pioneer, Tim Bowness, is out today. The track, titled "Lost/Not Lost", is one of the standout tracks from Tim’s new album, Powder Dry, set for release on September 13 via Kscope.
Speaking about the single, he said, “Both musically and lyrically, 'Lost / Not Lost' is the most direct song on Powder Dry. It’s a straight-ahead electro-pop piece with an optimistic lyric embracing escape and a spirit of abandon. It provides a sharp contrast to some of the bleak sentiments and troubled tales found elsewhere on the album. Like the rest of the music, it came together in a very natural and instinctive way. Clearly, I was in a rare good mood that day!”
Mixed by Bowness’s partner in no-man, Steven Wilson, the new single is accompanied by a pulsating and vivid new video produced by Blacktide Productions.
Featuring 16 pieces over its restless 40-minute duration, Tim Bowness’s eighth studio album, Powder Dry, represents a new beginning on a new label.
A collection of acute contrasts, the album is a vibrantly accessible and wildly experimental genre-blurring assault, embracing industrial rock, electro pop, singer-songwriter directness, haunted carnival soundscapes and more.
Entirely produced, performed and written by Bowness (a first), Powder Dry was mixed (in stereo and Surround Sound) by Bowness’s partner in no-man (and The Album Years podcast), Steven Wilson, who also acted as Bowness’s sounding board during the mixing process.
“This is the best and most creative of all of Tim's albums.” - Steven Wilson

BIG tour bus backstage at the Skogsröjet festival in Sweden on August 3, MR. BIG frontman Eric Martin once again admitted that he was second guessing the group's decision to stop touring after the completion of "The BIG Finish" farewell tour. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "This is the final tour, but it's slightly bittersweet because it's the end, and every night is like savoring the moment of, like, 'Good night. Thank you.' … And then I'm waving goodbye thinking that, 'Oh, I'll see you next time.' But I will see you next time, probably playing some karaoke bar, bar mitzvah or some sort of acoustic thing, 'cause I do acoustic shows every year, but I won't be playing with like the best players in the world — for me, anyway. So it is bittersweet. And I think somewhere down the line — this was about a week ago — I started thinking I think we might be shooting ourselves in the foot here because we're so tight and we are on fire. And I don't know if it's a novelty that this is 'The BIG Finish' and it's over and the crowds are coming, but sold-out shows pretty much every night and the festivals are great."
Martin went on to say that there is no chance of him and his MR. BIG bandmates going back on their word that they would not tour ever again. "We're not the kind of band — when we say that we're gonna quit and it's over and we're not touring anymore… We may do a one-off here and there every couple of years or whatever, but we're not going to be like the MÖTLEY CRÜEs and the KISSes," he explained." And no offense to them, because the crowds keep coming to see 'em, but we're not gonna do it. We just maybe have too much pride in it."
Asked if there is a chance of MR. BIG making more studio albums in the future, Eric said: "I did an interview the other day with Billy [Sheehan, MR. BIG bassist], and… I'm not my brother's keeper. I don't know what he thinks. I know what I think, that I'd like to do albums. If we're not gonna tour anymore for different reasons — I mean, I just don't wanna tour lengthy…. This has been a year. I just can't do it. I'm too old to… Everybody goes, 'Oh, what about THE ROLLING STONES?' Yeah. What about THE ROLLING STONES? Flying in, playing one show and two weeks later playing another show. Yeah, this is back-to-back touring. Hardly any hotels. I mean, the bus will suffice, but it's like a big camping trip for older men. So, I would like to do other albums. But the interview went like this. The guy goes, 'You gonna do another album?' And I'm, like, 'I'd like to.' And Billy goes, 'No, that's it.' I'm, like, 'All right.' But he's the guy that always says, 'Never say never.'"
MR. BIG played the last show of its "The BIG Finish" farewell tour on August 23 at the Way Too Far Rock Festival 2024 in Bistrița, Romania.
After the concert, Sheehan took to his social media to share a picture from the gig and he included the following message: "Romania!!! Crowd was a little bit light, but they made up for it in enthusiasm! The last MR. BIG show (not MY last show, goddammit!!).
"What a great run we've had since 1988. We made Great memories and millions (literally) of friends all around the world. My unlimited love and respect to all who listened, watched, purchased records, tickets and T -shirts. — without you we would have been nothing. Fact. Moving on now to other adventures, but never forgetting this amazing experience."
Guitarist Paul Gilbert added: "What an adventure! MR. BIG wraps up over a year of touring! Many thanks to ALL! I'll get home just in time for my son's 10th birthday. I hope he remembers who I am!"
Drummer Nick D'Virgilio, who joined MR. BIG in 2023 as the replacement for the late Pat Torpey, commented: "It has been an amazing run with @billysheehanonbass @paulgilbert_official and @iamericmartin I've been able to rock n roll all over the world with the guys and I will be forever thankful. Big Love for MR. BIG!"
MR. BIG's tenth studio album, "Ten", was released on July 12 via Frontiers Music Srl. The LP features 11 new original tracks written by Martin and Gilbert, along with André Pessis and Tony Fanucchi. "Ten" was produced by Jay Ruston and MR. BIG.
D'Virgilio missed most of the final European leg of MR. BIG's "The BIG Finish" tour due to his commitments with his band BIG BIG TRAIN. He was temporarily replaced on the trek by Edu Cominato, an experienced drummer from São Paulo, Brazil who has previously played with Sheehan and Martin, Jeff Scott Soto and Geoff Tate (QUEENSRŸCHE),among others.
When MR. BIG announced "The BIG Finish" tour last year, the bandmembers said that it was "time to mark the end of this chapter of their legacy" after drummer Pat Torpey lost his battle with Parkinson's disease in 2018. The first leg kicked off in Japan and Southeast Asia in July and August 2023, where the band performed for hundreds of thousands of loyal fans at 11 sold-out shows including Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.
MR. BIG's last-ever live album release will be "The BIG Finish Live", which is due out September 6 via the Evolution Music Group.
"The BIG Finish Live" is a brand-new live album and concert film of MR. BIG's "The BIG Finish" farewell tour, where the band played their million-selling "Lean Into It" album in its entirety, plus additional MR. BIG classics.
