Polish death metal legends, Vader, see their sophomore album, De Profundis, reissued via Nuclear Blast today. The "re-edition" of De Profundis is available in a number of formats, including CD, cassette, and for the first time in history - on vinyl.

Founding member Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek comments: "De Profundis was never released on vinyl before. The Mid 90s were already dominated by CD albums. The original tape from Modern Sound Studio was lost with no chance to recover. So we made a new master using a Telefunken professional tape studio recorder to give the whole record a warmer sound, a more analog feel and dynamics, but without altering the original version of course."

Danko Jones have announced two livestream performances in celebration of the release of their tenth studio album, Power Trio, out August 27 via Sonic Unyon Records. The livestreams are set for Saturday, August 28 at 8 PM, ET / 5 PM, PT and at 8 PM, CET. These shows will be streamed live from Bridgeworks in Hamilton, Ontario. Featuring Phil Campbell (Motörhead) and ironically the last song on Power Trio, "Start The Show" is essentially Danko Jones' answer to Cheap Trick's "Hello There" - i.e., a song tailor-made to be the first song played at a Danko Jones show. It’s a reaffirmation of everything he was put on this earth to do. But in the wake of this pandemic-plagued year, the song also makes for a surprisingly poignant album closer, because it’s a reminder of all the shows that Danko didn’t get to play this past year, and a reminder of how much we’ve all missed that goosebump-inducing feeling of being in a packed club when the house lights go down, the music playing over the PA cuts out, and your favourite power trio emerges from the darkness to kick into their opening tune.  And yet despite this bittersweet subtext, “Start the Show” is brimming with the promise that we will experience that feeling once again—and, after the black cloud of COVID clears, Danko Jones will be there ready to give it to you.

The full-throttle album, Power Trio, sees the band reunited with Canadian independent label Sonic Unyon Records, who issued the trio's first recordings and who will release the band's latest masterpiece in North America. Pre-orders are available here.

Power Trio sees Danko Jones delivering each engine-revving riff, soul-shaking stomp, and shout-it-loud hook with a sniper’s precision. It's such a simple, self-evident title, but one loaded with significance, as it speaks to the special triangular alchemy Danko shares with his trusty bass-slinging accomplice JC and drummer Rich Knox. It also stakes out the band’s place on a storied lineage of three-piece titans Jimi Hendrix Experience, ZZ Top, Rush, Motörhead, Venom, Dinosaur Jr., and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, to name a few.

When you choose to start a power trio, you’re not simply forming a band, you’re entering a blood pact - a tacit acknowledgement that all three members need to carry their equal share of the weight lest the whole enterprise collapse. There’s nowhere to hide in a power trio - no second guitarist to cover your mistakes, no keyboard player to smooth things over, no horn section to distract the crowd. If you fuck up, the whole band fucks up. Everybody needs to be on their A-game at all times.

Power Trio follows the band's electrifying, world charting album, A Rock Supreme released in 2019. Black Sabbath's 1976 masterpiece, Technical Ecstasy, will be released on October 1st in 5LP and 4CD Super Deluxe editions. The sets will include the latest remastered sound source of the original album, live and unreleased outtakes from the 1975-76 tour, new mix by Steven Wilson, and reprints of luxurious hard cover booklet, poster, tour pamphlet.

Creative Norwegian rock outfit, Leprous, have released their new single, “The Silent Revelation”, off their upcoming studio album Aphelion, out August 27 worldwide via InsideOutMusic.

Following up on 2019’s Pitfalls album, Leprous recorded Aphelion throughout the last year at three different studios: Ghost Ward Studios in Sweden, Ocean Sound Recordings in Norway and Cederberg Studios in Norway. The album was once again mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Nothing But Thieves, etc.), mastered by Robin Schmidt (The 1975, Placebo, The Gaslight Anthem, etc.) and its front cover artwork - designed by Elena Sigida, based on photography by Øystein Aspelund - can be seen below.

A never-heard-before, totally new and different version of METALLICA's classic song "Nothing Else Matters" can be heard below. The track appears twice in Disney's new movie "Jungle Cruise", which is being released today (Friday, July 30) will in U.S. theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access.

METALLICA stated about the track's inclusion in the film: "It was an honor to work with renowned, legendary composer James Newton Howard as we reimagined the song by performing his arrangement and creating a rendition we like to think is fit for an excursion through the Amazon.

"The film stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt who take the fan favorite ride and transform it to a theatrical adventure. Not only are we big fans of Disney, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with Howard, an eight-time Oscar nominee who has been recognized for films such as 'The Fugitive', 'Michael Clayton', and 'The Village'.

"Our collaboration with Howard will be featured on the film's soundtrack, available to stream or download on your favorite music platforms."

It was last September that METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich first confirmed the band was working with James Newton Howard on an orchestral version of "Nothing Else Matters" for the "Jungle Cruise" movie.

"It really goes back to [Disney production president] Sean Bailey, who is a lifelong rock fan, and is just all-around one of the greatest, most friendly, generous, warm, and embracing people you'll find in the music business," Ulrich told Collider. "I think he's always been a METALLICA fan, and we've gotten to know each other well. My wife and I are big Disney fans, so there's a great friendship there, and he's always looked for the right match where there was a way that METALLICA could contribute to some project of theirs. This was the right fit, with Sean leading the calvary, and with James Newton Howard and his track record, and what he's done."

Ulrich went on to say that he was excited to work with Howard.

"James Newton Howard, the man, the myth, the absolute legend," Ulrich said. "Considering what's he's done, it's an absolute honor to have done this with him, and we're excited for the world to hear it. It's kind of an interesting morph, because it's kind of — and I don't want to give too much of it away — but it's a very unusual morph in that it's kind of his arrangement of 'Nothing Else Matters' that we're playing. We wrote the song, but he took the song and rearranged it to fit something specific in the film — and obviously, I'm not going to give any of that away — but we then kind of took on his version of it. I think that's all that should be said."

The possibility of METALLICA contributing to the "Jungle Cruise" movie was first raised in June 2020 when Mitchell Leib, the president of music and soundtracks for The Walt Disney Studios, told The Entertainment Outlet that he was working with Ulrich on the film. Howard created an orchestral version of "Nothing Else Matters", which features in the film in two key places, for a total of about seven minutes, to set up the film's back story.

Leib said: "I came up with the idea of, let's have some fun, and why don't we take your tracks up to METALLICA's studio in San Francisco, and why don't we have Lars do the drum tracks, and James Hetfield do some of the guitars, and have Rob [Trujillo]… and so I'm dealing with METALLICA right now, and as well as helping him [Lars] become an Academy member."

Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney's "Jungle Cruise" is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank's questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila — his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities — possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate — and mankind's — hangs in the balance.

Jaume Collet-Serra directs the film, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramírez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. The producers are John Davis and John Fox of Davis Entertainment; Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions; and Beau Flynn of Flynn Picture Co., with Scott Sheldon and Doug Merrifield serving as executive producers. The story is by John Norville and Josh Goldstein and Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, and the screenplay is by Michael Green and Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.

Dee Snider has released his fifth full-length album, Leave A Scar, via Napalm Records. Today, Dee releases a video for the charging heavy metal rallying cry, "Down But Never Out".

Snider says about “Down But Never Out”: "I pride myself on the fact that throughout the decades, my music has always tried to not only push back against all oppressors (in this case Covid-19), but also lift people up and encourage them to fight back. 'Down But Never Out' is a perfect example of this ethos."

To commemorate the release, Snider recently announced a streaming event for his fans, available now. All ticket buyers will gain access to the concert stream, as well as on-demand access to any and all content from the event for a 30-day period.

Iconic singer, songwriter, guitarist, and ALICE IN CHAINS co-founder Jerry Cantrell returns with the first single, "Atone", from his new solo album, "Brighten". Watch the official music video for the track below.

Right from the start, the album opener's riff rolls like a runaway freight train underscored by cinematic twang. As the momentum builds, he intones the hummable hook before a psychedelic break, and a hard-hitting hook evocative of the album's incendiary spirit.

The video is a perfect accompaniment to the song as it is a compilation of black-and-white footage of Jerry playing the song in outdoor locations such as Joshua Tree, the Salton Sea, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. It was creatively directed as a group effort by Jerry; photographer/musician Jim Louvau; singer/guitarist Greg Puciato; visual artist Jesse Draxler; and photographer Tony Aguilera.

Talking about "Atone", Jerry says: "As a fan of Ennio Morricone scores and Sergio Leone movies, it's got a bit of that outlaw vibe, with a cool psycho hillbilly stomp. It's been kicking around in my head for like 20-plus years, haunting me. Sometimes it takes a while for a good idea to find its best form. Such was the case with 'Atone'."

The veteran rock artist delivers by offering up another dimension of his recognizable guitar sounds while at the same time featuring his signature vocals.

"I've been in the band for almost 34 years now," says Jerry. "It's always my first and foremost commitment, but it's nice to explore different things and add another chapter to a growing body of work. After the last AIC tour wrapped, I geared my mind towards the possibility of making another record of my own."

Over the past year, Jerry co-produced "Brighten" with film composer Tyler Bates ("300", "John Wick") and long-time engineer Paul Fig. Reflecting a classic spirit, they welcomed a dynamic cast of supporting players, including drummers Gil Sharone and Abe Laboriel, Jr. (Paul McCartney), pedal steel master Michael Rozon, Vincent Jones on piano, Wurlitzer, and organ. Other rock legends added to the fun of this LP, including Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES) on select bass tracks, Greg Puciato (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) handling all of the background vocals and Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) overseeing the mixing of "Brighten". Together, they recorded eight originals and the LP closes with an approved-by-Elton John cover of his classic "Goodbye" as the finale.

"'Madman Across The Water' is one of my favorite records of all time," Jerry exclaims. "Out of respect to Elton, I wouldn't include it unless he said it was okay. He'd played piano on 'Black Gives Way To Blue', which I wrote for [late ALICE IN CHAINS singer] Layne [Staley], so I reached out to Elton, he listened to it, and told me 'You should absolutely use it.' I got the signoff by the man himself. I couldn't think of a better way to close the record!"

Cantrell played a pair of sold-out solo shows in Los Angeles joined by an eclectic group of musicians and friends, several of whom appear on "Brighten".

"It was fun to play tunes I hadn't performed in years from 'Boggy Depot' and 'Degradation Trip'," Jerry continues. "Tyler Bates not only introduced me to a lot of cool players, he also helped me put the band together for the shows, and performed with me."

"Brighten" spawned from those gigs.

"It was like an old-school '70s record where a multitude of musicians played," smiles Cantrell. "So it's not a set band. I got to make music with a bunch of people I never had before, along with friends like Duff, Tyler and Gil who I've worked with previously."

Jerry's expansive sonic palette incorporates everything from moments of moody organ and powerful pedal steel to the cathartic choruses and airtight riffs which is the hallmark of Cantrell's sound.

To commemorate its release, "Atone" will be available in multiple configurations including a 12-inch vinyl single with a B-side that includes an exclusive instrumental version (with glow in the dark packaging), 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and a blood red colour vinyl exclusive to the Jerry Cantrell webstore. Each "Atone" vinyl single purchase includes a red flexi disc, red pick set, and an instant download of the song.

Jerry's upcoming effort will mark his first full-length release since "Degradation Trip", the epic solo album he made in 2002 with future METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and FAITH NO MORE drummer Mike Bordin.

Cantrell announced the new LP's completion in an Instagram post in March.

Jerry's career outside of ALICE IN CHAINS has consisted of two solo albums and contributions to major film soundtracks. Cantrell's first solo album, "Boggy Depot", was released in 1998, followed by his second album, the aforementioned "Degradation Trip". In addition to his solo artist work, Jerry has released music on soundtracks for several films, including "Spider-Man", "The Cable Guy", "John Wick 2", "Last Action Hero" and "The Punisher".

Back in 2018, Cantrell told Billboard that he wasn't in good headspace when he made "Degradation Trip". "I was just really fucked up back then, to be honest with you, and you can totally hear it on that record," he said. "It was done right before I got sober, and it was also done right when I was dealing with the death of my band, and then the unhappy coincidence of Layne [Staley, ALICE IN CHAINS frontman] passing away right after I released that record. So it was not a good time in my life, and it totally comes across on that record."

Cantrell added: "It's a record I don't listen to a lot anymore because of all those things I mentioned," revealing that he got sober a year after it was recorded. He continued: "But it's a record that's important to me, and I'll see Robert and Mike every once in a while and they're like, 'We should do some fucking shows, man. Some 'Degradation Trip' shows.' [Laughs] I tell 'em we'll do it someday."

ALICE IN CHAINS regrouped in 2006 with William DuVall joining the band, and released its third LP with DuVall in the lineup, "Rainier Fog", in August 2018.

JOURNEY made its return to the live stage last night (Thursday, July 29) during a special "aftershow" at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom. The concert took place just two days before JOURNEY's appearance Saturday night at Lollapalooza on the Bud Light Seltzer stage at Grant Park in Chicago.

JOURNEY's lineup for the Aragon show included the return of drummer Deen Castronovo, who shared the drum duties in the band with Narada Michael Walden. Walden, bassist Randy Jackson and keyboardist/backing singer Jason Derlatka all joined JOURNEY last year following the band's acrimonious split with drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory. Jackson — who previously played with JOURNEY during the mid-1980s — was forced to miss the Aragon gig because he is scheduled to undergo back surgery. Filling in for him was Marco Mendoza, who previously played several shows in 2019 with Castronovo and JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon under the "Neal Schon's Journey Through Time" banner.

Schon first hinted at Castronovo's return on Monday (July 26) when he tweeted a photo from the rehearsal sessions for the Aragon show. "Ok … Double trouble Chicago @NaradaMWalden @DeenTheDrummer Narada Michael Walden and the return of Deen Castronovo on Drums @AragonBallroom @lollapalooza," Schon wrote.

Two days later, Schon answered a few questions about Deen's JOURNEY status below a San Francisco Chronicle story that he shared on Facebook. When fan asked, "So is Deen Castronovo back in the band full time now?" Schon responded, "Yes." After another fan who told Schon to "bring back Deen again," Schon wrote, "Deen is back. We are double (2) drummers now with Narada." He added: "They are BOTH PLAYING !!! JOURNEY AS YOU'VE NEVER HEARD US BEFORE !!!!"

Castronovo's 17-year tenure with JOURNEY ended in 2015 when the group fired him after his arrest for a variety of charges involving his now-wife (including physical abuse, coercion, and unlawful use of a weapon).

Last month, JOURNEY shared a new single, "The Way We Used To Be". The song is the multi-platinum band's first new music since 2011's album "Eclipse", and the first song released by the band's revamped lineup. "The Way We Used To Be" marks Walden and Derlatka's first studio recordings with the band, and Jackson's first since 1986's "Raised On Radio". The song was produced by Narada Michael Walden at his Tarpan Studios, with co-production by Schon and Cain.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's "The Stadium Tour" with DEF LEPPARD was originally scheduled to take place last summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021, and then to 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When it happens, "The Stadium Tour" will mark the CRÜE's first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell tour. CRÜE toured with POISON back in 2011 and DEF LEPPARD teamed up with POISON for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the upcoming jaunt marks the first time all four acts have hit the road together for an extended tour.

Joey Jordison's SINSAENUM bandmate Frédéric Leclercq has blasted TMZ for sharing the audio of the 911 call placed by the former SLIPKNOT drummer's ex-girlfriend after she found him dead.

Earlier today, the tabloid site posted the two-and-a-half-minute phone call in which Joey's ex-girlfriend can be heard getting very emotional when she went to his house to check on him after she hadn't heard from him in days.

Leclercq, a former member of DRAGONFORCE who now plays bass in KREATOR, took to his Twitter earlier today to write: "I have not, and refuse to listen to this 'Emotional 911 Call'. I encourage people to do the same and ignore it. Shame on you @TMZ . Why do you need to do this? is this gonna bring Joey back ? no. Is this gonna make anyone feel better? no. Shame on you."

Leclercq and Jordison's death metal collaboration, SINSAENUM released two studio albums, 2016's "Echoes Of The Tortured" and 2018's "Repulsion For Humanity".

Jordison made his live debut with SINSAENUM in September 2018 in Saint-Brieuc, France.

The founding SLIPKNOT drummer's family confirmed that Jordinson passed away "peacefully in his sleep" on Monday of an unspecified cause.

According to TMZ, Joey's family said they will hold a private funeral service for him, but it's unclear when that will happen.

SLIPKNOT announced its split with Jordison in December 2013 but did not disclose the reasons for his exit. The drummer subsequently issued a statement saying that he did not quit the group.

Several years ago, Jordison overcame the neurological condition acute transverse myelitis, an inflammation of the spinal cord which damages nerve fibers, which ultimately led to the drummer temporarily losing the use of his legs.

Back in 2014, SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor told Metal Hammer that firing Jordison after 18 years was "one of the hardest decisions" the group ever made, adding that Joey is "in a place in his life" which is "not where we are."

KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has paid tribute to Joey Jordison, who died earlier this week at the age of 46. The founding SLIPKNOT drummer's family confirmed that Jordinson passed away "peacefully in his sleep" on Monday of an unspecified cause.

KORN recruited Jordison in 2007 to join them on tour when drummer David Silveria went on hiatus from the band. Joey also appeared in the music video for KORN's single "Evolution".

Just hours after the news of Jordison's death was made public, Shaffer told TMZ: "I'm in shock. I can't believe it. That guy is such a fucking warrior. He loved drums, loved music, loved playing. He would jump in and play with anybody if he felt like it was a passion. He just loved heavy music. He loved playing his instrument. It's very sad — it's very sad that he's gone so young."

Asked what legacy Joey leaves behind, Munky said: "What an amazing fucking drummer! What amazing drummer. The most energy I've seen any drummer have ever.

"I have so many good memories about this guy," he added. "We did a tour back in, I think, 2005. And he had his own bus with another backing singer of the band; his name is Kalen. They became really close. Their bus was called the 'Dragon Bus' and our bus was called the 'Pirate Bus.' And it was always, like, 'Who partied harder? The pirates or the dragons?' And they'd be, like, 'Dragons.' And then we'd go, 'Pirates.' It was an inside kind of thing that we did on tour.

"He'll always be remembered by me as somebody that's caring, compassionate and an amazing musician."

As for what message he had for Joey's family, Munky said: "I would like to tell his family and his bandmates that I'm truly sorry that we've lost him. And I'm in shock. I can't believe it. And I just wanna send them all my love."

LACUNA COIL's Cristina Scabbia was recently interviewed on "Speak N' Destroy", a podcast about all things METALLICA, hosted by longtime journalist and METALLICA fan Ryan J. Downey. In the episode, she talks about the impact METALLICA's "black" album and the band on her career; the formation of LACUNA COIL; the story behind the band's signing to Century Media; the relationship between bands like PARADISE LOST, TYPE O NEGATIVE, LACUNA COIL and METALLICA, whose sound and image evolves over the years, with their fans; and more.

Speaking about the first time she heard METALLICA's music, Cristina said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I can genuinely say that METALLICA was the very first metal band that I've ever heard — ever. When I wasn't even remotely close to becoming a singer in a band or meeting the other members of LACUNA COIL from the first lineup. I remember that I was still living with my parents and I remember that I was meeting up with the same group of friends every day. And one day one of them just brought a cassette player, just like, 'Oh, you've gotta listen to this,' and just played some METALLICA for me. I was, like, 'What is this?'

"I grew up in a family with two brothers and a sister that listened to a lot of music, but not metal music," she continued. "The heaviest thing was a record from AC/DC, but the rest was all PINK FLOYD, BEATLES, GENESIS… I mean, I'm not complaining at all — it was great stuff. Electronic music from the '80s, some rap, hip-hop — [we listened to] everything but metal, surprisingly. I don't know why. So when I heard this music coming from this cassette, I was very impressed because it was something that I'd never heard before in my world. So I started asking questions. I was, like, 'What is this? What is that?'

"Of course, I mainly loved the mellower songs back then, because I was still kind of, like, attracted and tempted but still not quite ready — maybe," Cristina added. "And then I kept the name of this band in the back of my mind, that I was just, like, 'Hmmm. They might come back later.' So I, let's say, improved my knowledge in metal in, I think it was 1993. So I was not super young — it's something that I discovered later because I started to hang out in a metal pub in Milano that is not existing anymore called Midnight pub. And that's where, actually, I met the guys of LACUNA COIL, at least Andrea and Marco and the guys from the previous lineup. And they were playing metal music. So a whole universe opened up for me. And the same friend who actually made me listen to METALLICA brought me to this pub. So I had a chance to listen to stuff that was probably close to my taste as a transition. So I fell in love with TYPE OF NEGATIVE, with PARADISE LOST — bands that had melodies into it. And I gradually went into something heavier, falling in love with it and understanding more about this music that was sounding different from the music that I'd listened to."

Los Angeles-based heavy rock avant-gardists Philm, featuring vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Gerry Nestler (Civil Defiance, Kkleq Muzzil) and bassist Pancho Tomaselli (War, Ultraphonix), have announced the addition of new drummer Anthony Drinkwater, who will make his live debut with the group with a trifecta of upcoming Southern California shows. Drinkwater follows in the footsteps of original skinsman Dave Lombardo (Slayer) and Anderson Quintero, who played on the band's 2021 Metalville Records release, Time Burner. 

"After we'd shot our recent video for 'Cries Of The Century' with our director friend Rick Kosick, we really felt that we needed to find that solid third piece for Philm," explains Tomaselli. "So I called my friend Jon (D'Auria) at Bass Magazine to ask for some advice and maybe help locate the right person. He gave me a phone number, which led to another number, and eventually one of the recommendations led to Anthony. We gave him a few songs to learn, but when he came down for the audition, he'd already learned more stuff and nailed it. Which really showed his dedication and how much he wanted the gig - Anthony plays his ass off and is the perfect fit."

A Los Angeles native, Drinkwater is a graduate of the PIT program at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California, but was initially self-taught playing along to punk, metal, and rockabilly records starting at age 12. He joined his father Tony Red-Horse's punkabilly band The Rocketz in 2009, touring both in the U.S. and Europe. In 2015, he joined garage thrashers The Birth Defects, with whom he recorded the Everything Is Fine album and has toured extensively all over North America, including a tour with Brent Hinds' (Mastodon) Fiend Without A Face in 2016.

Frontiers Music Srl will introduce Chilean vocalist James Robledo to the international stage with his debut solo album, Wanted Man. The album will be released September 17. Today, fans can get a look at the album with the release of the single, "Dreams Deceive". Listen to the song below, and pre-order/save Wanted Man here.

James was first signed to the label as part of the melodic metal band Sinner's Blood, whose debut album, The Mirror Star impressed listeners with their stunning take on melodic metal. The instrumentation and songwriting were superb and James' voice equally impressed. Frontiers was eager to explore more avenues to work with James and get his powerful vocals wider recognition, thus the idea of a solo album was born. Wanted Man, written and produced with Alessandro Del Vecchio, is a showcase of this wonderful singer's talents.
 
James Robledo is a Chilean vocalist who comes from a family of musicians with prominent places in the history of Chilean music, with both national and international success. In his youth, he began his foray into metal and rock. In 2004, he was part of the Chilean Band Alternancia who in 2008 took first place in the Talento Crudo Festival (TVN Televisión Nacional de Chile). In 2011, James was invited to be part of Banda Argentina Thabu, with whom he released two albums. In 2016, James left Thabu to take part in the popular TV show The Voice Chile 2, where his participation generated a stir thanks to his outstanding vocal performances.

In early 2017, James joined the band Renegade, with whom he recorded an album which featured a duet with the renowned Chilean singer Ronnie Romero (Lords Of Black, Sunstorm, Rainbow). In 2019, James signed with the Frontiers label as frontman of his new band Sinner’s Blood, which also features the renowned producer, songwriter, and musician Nasson (Chaos Magic). Sinner’s Blood debut album “The Mirror Star” showed his outstanding abilities, positioning him as one of the most prominent new hard rock/metal voices from the entirety of South America.

It is now James' turn to shine completely with his debut solo record, which was written and produced for him by Frontiers’ production guru Alessandro Del Vecchio, who also plays keyboards and bass on the album. André Hilgers (Rage, Silent Force, Bonfire) is on drums and Francesco Marras (Tygers Of Pan Tang) handles guitars. The result is a record with an organic melodic metal sound which showcases Robledo’s soulful vocal abilities. This guy is an absolute star.

This release is a project created, overseen, and directed by Serafino Perugino, President and A&R director of Frontiers Records.

SLIPKNOT has issued a statement regarding the passing of its former drummer Joey Jordison. The founding SLIPKNOT member's family confirmed that Jordinson passed away "peacefully in his sleep" on Monday (July 26) of an unspecified cause. He was 46 years old.

Earlier today, SLIPKNOT released an eight-and-a-half-minute video tribute to Jordison featuring behind-the-scenes footage and performance clips shot during his time with the band. The video opens with the following words from the SLIPKNOT camp: "Our hearts go out to Joey's family and loved ones at this time of tremendous loss.

"Joey Jordison's art, talent, and spirit could not be contained or be held back. Joey's impact on SLIPKNOT, on our lives, and on the music that he loved, is incalculable. Without him there would be no us. We mourn his loss with the entire SLIPKNOT family. We love you, Joey."

SLIPKNOT announced its split with Jordison in December 2013 but did not disclose the reasons for his exit. The drummer subsequently issued a statement saying that he did not quit the group.

METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett spoke to Classic Rock magazine about what he and his bandmates hope to achieve with their upcoming studio album.

"METALLICA has always been about bringing people together through music. I think the sentiment now is that people need music more than ever to bring everyone together and collectively celebrate that we've got to this point," he said. "There's a lot of division in the world, and hopefully this METALLICA album will cut through the division and bring people together in ways that are more beneficial for everyone over all.

"We've tried to make the most of the COVID year and a half, and we've been pretty successful," he continued. "We've got together remotely and worked, and we've got together [properly] and worked. Things are moving really well. I would say that the music we're coming up with is very appropriate for the times.

"Music should bring everyone together, it should be a celebration," Hammett added. "That's what music is about. It's not about selling albums or getting Grammys, it's about putting out good music and helping the situation with that music."

Last summer, Hammett told Metal Hammer magazine that there was "a lot of material" written for a possible follow-up to 2016's "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct" album, which marked METALLICA's first full-length collection of new music in eight years. "I know I have tons, because I totally overcompensated," he said. "You know, last time around, it was a real shock to my system losing all those musical ideas. [Editor's note: Kirk lost a phone with more than 300 pieces of music on it during the creative process for 'Hardwired…'] So, I was very determined to try and make up for lost time. I also felt that, creatively, I have so much more to offer this time around."

Bassist Robert Trujillo added that the songwriting process for the next album could be a decidedly more collective effort compared to "Hardwired…", which was largely composed by guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich.

"I'm not gonna speak on behalf of the other guys, but to me, it feels like this could be a very collaborative [writing process]," Robert said. "And for me personally, I love that. I love that we are in that head space to be more collaborative, and I think that's very exciting for where we're at now, the journey we're about to take, the fact that those doors are opening like that."

"It's taking a couple of months, literally, for me to go through all [my ideas]," added Kirk, who is is not credited on any of the songs on "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct". "I've got a wealth of material, and so, at any given point when we all decide, 'Okay, let's start formulating a schedule to start writing songs and recording it.' I'm ready. I'm there, from day one."

"Kirk has so many ideas," continued Trujillo. "It's funny because sometimes it's literally him in the kitchen and he's cooking, and at the same time he's playing you a riff, or you're sitting on the toilet and he's playing you some ideas. But when we started to understand that [the lockdown] was gonna happen, it was like, 'Hey, let's be creative', you know? Let's just get on it. A lot of times, when there's a band that's been around as long as METALLICA has, you find that one of the biggest problems is, 'Man I can't come up with a riff, I can't come up with any good lyrics, it's just harder to write songs', but that just doesn't seem to be the problem with us. Not taking anything away from any other bands, but sometimes our worst riff might be another band's A-list riff."

During an appearance at last month's Telekom Tech Grounds virtual event, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson shared some of his early record store memories. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Record stores, when I was a kid, before the Internet — you can go and listen to everything for free now on the Internet, but back then it was a bit more difficult. You would have to go into an actual record store and you would ask to listen to a record and you'd listen to probably most of the album and you wouldn't buy it, 'cause you didn't have any money. But you were in the store with all these people who loved music, and you'd talk about music and you'd hang out. And just being there was like being recharged when you were a kid. It was just, like, 'Oh my God. I've got school. I've got this. I've got that. I wanna escape my parents.' Blah blah blah. You get on a bus, you go to the record store, you hang out and meet all these people who think and talk music and think like you, and your life is suddenly better."

Dickinson is considered one of the world's most storied musicians after decades spent delivering high-octane performances with his larger-than-life persona in IRON MAIDEN. A true polymath, his accomplishments include: pilot and airline captain, aviation entrepreneur, beer brewer, motivational speaker, film scriptwriter, twice-published novelist and Sunday Times best-selling author, radio presenter, TV actor, sports commentator and international fencer….to name but a few.

Back in October 2017, Dickinson's autobiography, "What Does This Button Do?", landed at No. 10 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list. It was released in the U.S. via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

"What Does This Button Do?" is Dickinson's third book. He has previously published two satirical novels, "The Adventures Of Lord Iffy Boatrace" about the English upper classes and "The Missionary Position" about televangelism.

Dickinson, who turned 62 last August, joined IRON MAIDEN in 1981, replacing Paul Di'Anno, and made his recording debut with the band on the 1982 album "The Number Of The Beast". He quit the band in 1993, pursuing several solo projects, and rejoined in 1999.
