Watch ADLER'S APPETITE Perform GUNS N' ROSES Classics At M3 ROCK FESTIVALFan-filmed video footage of ADLER'S APPETITE's May 4 performance at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland can be seen below.
ADLER'S APPETITE's current lineup includes former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler alongside Ariel Kamin, the singer of Argentinian GN'R tribute band SON OF A GUN, plus guitarist Michael Thomas and bassist Tanya O Callaghan.
Kamin replaced Constantine Maroulis of "American Idol" and "Rock Of Ages" fame, who was the vocalist for ADLER'S APPETITE for a dozen or so dates in May 2018, including an Australian tour.
Steven previously played with Ariel when the drummer joined SON OF GUN on stage in November 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to perform several GN'R classics, including "You Could Be Mine" and "Welcome To The Jungle".
Although he wasn't included in the lineup that launched the "Not In This Lifetime" trek in 2016, Adler rejoined GUNS N' ROSES at several shows on the tour, including three stops on the U.S. leg and one gig in Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing drums on "Out Ta Get Me" and "My Michelle".
In February 2017, Adler revealed to podcaster Mitch Lafon that he was originally supposed to appear at more than just a handful of shows on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion trek. He claimed that he expected to play all the "Appetite For Destruction" material during the entire tour, only to be told he was out after he hurt his back during rehearsals.
Speculation was rampant that Adler would participate in at least a portion of the reunion tour ever since GUNS made it official in January 2016. The regular GUNS drummer for several years has been Frank Ferrer, who is also part of the current lineup.

DOKKEN Performs Without Drummer MICK BROWN at M3 ROCK FESTIVAL (Video)DOKKEN performed without drummer Mick Brown on May 5 at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland. He was temporarily replaced by BJ Zampa (HOUSE OF LORDS), who has filled in for Brown in the past. No explanation regarding Mick's absence from the gig was provided by the band.
In addition to Brown, DOKKEN's current lineup includes singer Don Dokken, guitarist Jon Levin and bassist Chris McCarvill.
DOKKEN's classic lineup — including Dokken, Brown, guitarist George Lynch and bassist/vocalist Jeff Pilson — reunited for a short Japanese tour in the fall of 2016. The trek marked the first time in 21 years the four musicians had hit the road together.
Since completing the Japanese reunion dates, DOKKEN has continued to perform with the group's current lineup, save for a handful of shows in late 2017 and last year that saw guitarist Ira Black (LIZZY BORDEN, VICIOUS RUMORS) fill in for Levin.
A DOKKEN concert DVD focusing on the band's reunion tour, "Return To The East Live (2016)", was made available last year.
DOKKEN is currently working on material on a new studio album, tentatively due in 2020 via Silver Lining Music, the label owned by Thomas Jensen, one of the founders of Germany's Wacken Open Air festival. It will mark the group's first disc since 2012's "Broken Bones".
Last fall, Don told "The Classic Metal Show" that his band's next album would be "a classic-sounding DOKKEN record" with "straight-ahead, catchy choruses, cool guitar riffs, burning guitar solos" and "nice grooves." He added: "The dilemma is to try to do that 30 years later without just ripping myself off and regurgitating old DOKKEN riffs." 3

TOMB MOLD - New Album Due In July, First Single Streaming Now20 Buck Spin has declared July 19th as the release date of Planetary Clairvoyance, the dominating third LP by Toronto, Ontario death squad, Tomb Mold. The advance single, "Infinite Resurrection", can be enjoyed now:
Recklessly devouring the world into a vortex of alternate dimensional planes with Manor Of Infinite Forms, Tomb Mold has crashed through boundaries with the impact of an ocean sized asteroid. Somewhere between outer space, inner space, and the unseen dark matter in between all space they've devised an alchemical formula both crushingly oppressive and rapidly expanding outward in every direction.
Waking from stasis for the third time in three years, new record Planetary Clairvoyance is the sum of knowledge gained and aeons absorbed, concentrated into a single massive tome of arcane wisdom and implausible physics. Like the album's cover art, it exists in a domain of alien anatomical abnormality, malign flora and cold void desolation, warping and deforming the familiar into unknown obscurity.
Once again tracked by Sean Pearson at Box Car Studios in Toronto and then mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Volahn, Scorched), the amalgamation of the huge sound of Manor Of Infinite Forms and the gritty particle chaos of Primordial Malignity come into boundless unity on Planetary Clairvoyance. The album is completed with cover art by Jesse Jacobi with additional artwork by Lucas Korte.
Tracklisting:
"Beg For Life"
"Planetary Clairvoyance (They Grow Inside Pt 2)"

LORD DYING Launch Music Video For "Nearing The End Of The Curling Worm"Portland-based progressive sludge metal merchants, Lord Dying, have released a video for "Nearing The End Of The Curling Worm, a track from the band's Mysterium Tremendum full-length, released late last month via Entertainment One (eOne).
Filmed by Nesto, the consuming, near-six-minute clips fuses performance footage with kaleidoscopic, often unsettling dreamscape imagery perfectly capturing the track's monolithic heaviness both in sound and theme.
Captured at Los Angeles' West Valley Recording Studios in August of 2018 with producer Mike Plotnikoff (Fear Factory, In Flames), mastered by Howie Weinberg (Slayer, Pantera), and swathed in the striking planetary landscape-inspired cover art of Steve R. Dodd, the band's first full-length in four years is a monolithic, riff-heavy concept album boasting eleven heaving tracks that explore the many facets of dying and what may or may not exist in the afterlife.
An emotionally satisfying record, lyrically and musically Mysterium Tremendum's exploration of death goes beyond the mere longing for it in order to see what lies beyond ("Lacerated Psyche" is about the death of guitarist Chris Evans' sister). There are many layers to it - you might even find parallels between the record's concept and life itself. It's a journey. And in their quest to pursue death, Lord Dying has themselves found new life.
Tracklisting:
"Envy The End"
"Tearing At The Fabric Of Consciousness"
"Nearing The End Of The Curling Worm"
"The End Of Experience"
"Exploring Inward"
"Severed Forever"
"Even The Darkness Went Away"
"Freed From The Pressures Of Time"
"Lacerated Psyche"
"Split From A World Within/Devoid Of Dreams/Death The Final Loneliness"
"Saying Goodbye To Physical Form"

SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE: Listen To 'Affirmation' SongTHE CIRCLE, Sammy Hagar's critically acclaimed supergroup also featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson, will release its first album of all-original material, "Space Between", on May 10 via BMG. The disc's latest single, "Affirmation", can now be streamed below.
Hagar told the Broward Palm Beach New Times last year about the lyrical themes covered on "Space Between": "It's about the misconception that money is the root of all evil, because the truth of the matter is that it isn't money at all. You can feed the poor, you can heal the sick, you can make people happy, you can stop a war with money, but it's greed that is the problem. That's what the whole record is about. It's what I discovered by being both rich and poor."
SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE kicked off its 23-city North American on April 19 in Reno, Nevada and will end it on June 7 in Chicago, Illinois.
Every ticket purchased to the North American tour includes one CD copy of "Space Between". In addition, a digital copy of "Space Between" will also be delivered to customers who redeem the CD. Ticket purchasers will receive instructions on how to redeem their copy that will be mailed to them on May 10.
Formed in 2014, the acclaimed supergroup quickly established itself as one of the most emphatic and exciting live acts on tour today, seamlessly ripping through career-spanning hits from MONTROSE, VAN HALEN, SAMMY HAGAR AND THE WABORITAS and LED ZEPPELIN.
BMG signed a worldwide label deal with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE for "Space Between", and will also include select Hagar catalog titles.
Lyrically and musically, the collection of songs on "Space Between" build from intimate and introspective eye-openers to heart-pumping anthems. The music draws on the bands' substantial careers independently and collaboratively; presenting a veteran band still at the peak of its game.
THE CIRCLE released a concert album, "At Your Service", in May 2015. Recorded on tour in 2014, it featured live performances of hits from Sammy's four decades of rock (MONTROSE, solo, VAN HALEN, THE WABORITAS, CHICKENFOOT) as well as classic tracks from the LED ZEPPELIN catalog.
"Space Between" track listing:
01. Devil Came To Philly
02. Full Circle Jam (Chump Change)
03. Can't Hang
04. Wide Open Space
05. Free Man
06. Bottom Line
07. No Worries

Reformed LAST CRACK Releases Music Video For New Song 'Icicle'"Icicle", the new video from reformed '90s Madison, Wisconsin alternative hard rockers LAST CRACK, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's long-awaited third full-length album, "The Up Rising", which will be released on May 31 via EMP Label Group, the U.S.-based label of MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. Recorded during 2017-2019 at Megatone Studios in Madison, the LP will be the band's first studio release since 1991's critically acclaimed "Burning Time".
Formed in 1987, LAST CRACK recorded its first five-song demo and was brought to the attention of legendary Roadrunner A&R man Monte Conner, who signed the band and sent them off to Prince's Paisley Park to begin work on their 1989 Roadrunner debut, "Sinister Funkhouse #17".
The album, aptly named after their practice/storage unit they rented outside of Madison. Dedicating hours of playing in a hot, sweaty garage with vocalist Buddo scribbling lyrics on the walls, the original lineup of Buddo, Don Bakken and Paul Schluter on guitars, Todd Winger on bass, and Phil Buerstatte on drums, LAST CRACK was more than ready to unleash its heavy/quirky sound and visions to the world
With the release of "Funkhouse", LAST CRACK got the attention of the major metal magazines, and quickly developed a loyal fan base.
Their sophomore effort, "Burning Time", was recorded at Eldorado Studios in Hollywood with Dave Jerden, famed for recording iconic albums with JANE'S ADDICTION and ALICE IN CHAINS. The LP was met with critical acclaim and the band embarked on a tour of the U.S. and Europe.
EMP's Thom Hazaert commented: "Growing up in Wisconsin, LAST CRACK coming out of Madison was such a huge deal. I remember 'Burning Time' coming out, and it was like dynamite. They were really doing something that no one else was doing at the time. All the 'cool' kids loved them. They were always a band that was so ahead of their time, and it's a huge honor to release the follow-up to 'Burning Time', all these years later. Hopefully the world finally caught up."
Fueled by conflicts and industry pressures the band broke up just months after the "Burning Time" tour had begun, leaving all wondering what happened. Buerstatte would go on to play drums for WHITE ZOMBIE, while Buddo, Paul, Don and Todd all continued performing in several popular regional bands in Wisconsin.
In 2002, the band reunited with the original members, except for Buerstatte, who was replaced by Chris Havey. After releasing a live album with songs from both studio albums, LAST CRACK toured Iceland and the Netherlands, enjoying firsthand that they still had fans around the world. All five original band members were brought back together in November of 2009 for one date in Wisconsin. This would be the last time, as Buerstatte passed away in 2013.
"The Up Rising" track listing:
01. Siren Song
02. Golden Age
03. Icicle
04. Passenger
05. Blame
06. Greta Grinder
07. Three Ghosts
08. Sensei
09. Paper Town
10. Discipline
11. Pinned
12. Bullet Train

SKINTRADE Is Back With New Single, 'Woman'Swedish hard rockers SKINTRADE have returned with a new single, "Woman", via Ninetone Records. You can listen to the song below.
SKINTRADE was formed in 1992 by Matti Alfonzetti (vocals), George Bravo (guitar, backing vocals), Stefan Bergström (guitar, backing vocals), Hakan Calmroth (bass) and Håkan Persson (drums, backing vocals). The group's self-titled debut was released in 1993 and received overwhelmingly positive respnse from both media and audience. The singles "Sick As A Dog" and "One By One" were played frequently on the radio and their videos spun on MTV's "Headbangers Ball". The same year, SKINTRADE was honored with a Zeppelin award for "Best Hard Rock Album" and was nominated for a Swedish Grammis (Grammy equivalent) in the category of "Best Video." The follow-up CD, "Roach Powder", came out in 1995 with Thomas Skogsberg as a producer (ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER). The videos for the singles "Snap Goes Your Mind" and "Flies" were played regularly on MTV.
Between 1993 and 1995, SKINTRADE embarked on several tours of Europe and played at some of Sweden's and Europe's biggest festivals such as Sweden Rock, Hultsfred, Dala Rock, Dynamo Open Air (Holland) and Rock Am Ring (Germany). SKINTRADE also supported the Danish band D-A-D on their European tour in 1995. One of their last and most memorable gigs took place in late 1995 with the Irish band THERAPY? during a live radio show in Amsterdam, Netherlands. SKINTRADE disbanded shortly thereafter.
The idea for the SKINTRADE members to collaborate again came about as they got more and more requests from fans asking them to make new music. During the first rehearsal in May 2011, it became obvious that the band's chemistry was very much intact.
In the summer and autumn of 2011, SKINTRADE recorded four new songs at Sound Trade Studios with their old friend and partner Ronny Lahti, engineer and producer who previously worked with the band on all the recordings in the '90s.
SKINTRADE's "best-of" album, "Past And Present", was released in March 2012 via Universal Music. The CD included three new songs and 12 classics.
SKINTRADE released its comeback album, "Refueled", on February 28 2014, via AOR Heaven. The CD was recorded at SKINTRADE's studio and mixed by Oscar Ammer, frontman and songwriter of STEREOLITH, at Echobox Studio in Stockholm.

ANTHRAX's SCOTT IAN On Upcoming Album: 'We Have Some Really Powerful Skeletal Arrangements Of Some New Stuff'Earier this week, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian spoke to SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" about the material he and his bandmates are working on for the follow-up to 2016's "For All Kings" album. "We've had a couple of writing sessions," he said. "That [went] really well. We have some really, really powerful skeletal arrangements of some new stuff. There's more ANTHRAX dates. We start in Europe on June 6th — we're in Europe from June 6th till July 1st, and then again in August for a couple of weeks, playing festivals and more shows with SLAYER. And I think we have more gigs with SLAYER in South America, like late September into October, because we're both on Rock In Rio. So, yeah, ANTHRAX continues to roll between touring and working on a new album."
ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante told Metal Rules that the band's new music is shaping up to be "a little more aggressive and angrier, only because the climate we are all living in is reflected in our music."
The group's upcoming disc will be ANTHRAX's third full-length release since the return of singer Joey Belladonna, who came back into the fold for the "Big Four" shows, in the process helping inspire a new wave of creativity.
"For All Kings" was called by some critics ANTHRAX's strongest album to date. Its arrival followed a five-year period during which the band experienced a rebirth of sorts, beginning with ANTHRAX's inclusion on the 2010 "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, and continuing with the 2011 release of comeback LP "Worship Music". 8

D-A-D: 'A Prayer For The Loud' Album Details RevealedDanish rockers D-A-D will release their first album in eight years, "A Prayer For The Loud" on May 31 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2011's "DIC.NII.LAN.DAFT.ERD.ARK" harks back to the core of what D-A-D does better than most: four guys who play thrilling rock music with ferocious energy, catchy songs and an infectious commitment. "A Prayer For The Loud" has a clear musical link to classic D-A-D albums such as "No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims" and "Riskin' It All".
D-A-D was able to pick and choose from a large selection of songs which have been distilled down to what bassist Stig Pedersen describes as the "cream of the crop." Among the 11 tracks on "A Prayer For The Loud", you'll find songs that fit right into a vintage D-A-D mould: throbbing, adrenaline-soaked rock, big ballads and mid-tempo songs guided by strong melodies. According to the band itself, this is a contemporary D-A-D album where the quartet has refined some of their cardinal virtues. Everything superfluous has been discarded in the editing suite, cutting the sound and the band's expression right down to the core.
D-A-D said to say about the new album: "In the past, we have occasionally gone down new avenues to try out stuff that was pretty far from the heart of what we do. It's been a lot of fun, but this time we have tried to narrow it down to the essence. This time around, we are just being who we really are.
"'A Prayer For The Loud' is a record where the focus is on melodies and energy. We've made a real effort when it comes to writing the choruses and it's resulted in some great songs where we were meticulous with the details without losing the original rawness and pure energy."
The band worked on "A Prayer For The Loud" for the past three years, while breaking off to go touring. The album was produced in familiar surroundings at Grapehouse studio in Copenhagen with longtime collaborators Nick Foss and Rune Nissen Petersen. It's resulted in a record which the band is thrilled about.
Frontman Jesper Binzer said: "Most of all, we are proud that we have nailed 11 awesome tracks that are based on where we are right now. We are not shooting in the dark here — this is straight from the heart."
D-A-D has has completed a short arena tour which took them to Denmark's three biggest cities. In the wake of the release of "A Prayer For The Loud", the band will tour major summer festivals in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany.
"A Prayer For The Loud" track listing:

LORDS OF BLACK Guitarist Tony Hernando's RESTLESS SPIRITS Streaming New Song "'Cause I Know You're The One" Featuring ANIMAL DRIVE Singer DINO JELUSICLords Of Black guitarist Tony Hernando is one of the most exciting guitarists, writers, and producers in the European metal and rock scene today. With his many talents, it was a natural next step for him to stretch out and work on a solo album after the promotional cycle for Lords Of Black's third album, Icons Of The New Days, wrapped up.
Hernando has always been passionate about melodic hard rock music, so the idea of pairing him with some of the best singers from his fellow labelmates' bands to lay their vocals over his songwriting seemed not only logical, but destiny. Thus, Restless Spirits was born and the self-titled debut will now be released on May 17th via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-order the album here.
Aside from Hilli, guest vocalists include none other than Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell), Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints, ex-Journey), Dino Jelusic (Animal Drive), Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline), and Diego Valdez (Dream Child and now, the new vocalist for Hernando's main project, Lords Of Black). In addition to vocal duties, Deen Castronovo also takes care of drums on every track.
Listen to "'Cause I Know You're The One", featuring Dio Jelusic, below.
Hernando says, "Restless Spirits is a melodic hard rock record featuring several singers that showcases some different sides of my playing and songwriting. We have rockers, ballads, and everything in between. I had the opportunity to work and co-write with some of the best guys in the business. I hope everyone can enjoy this album as much as I did recording it!”
Restless Spirits is an album that showcases some of the most outstanding vocal talents operating in the melodic hard rock scene right now, while also offering truly exciting and adventurous melodic hard rock songwriting. Enjoy!

Greek Thrashers DOMINATION INC. Sign With Steamhammer / SPV; New Album To Be Released This SummerThe second studio album by the greek thrash metal band Domination Inc. has been announced for August 23rd.
During the five years that have passed since their bombshell first record came out, Domination Inc. have gone from strength to strength within the worldwide metal scene while they received rave reviews for both their studio recordings and stage performance. As a support act, the Greek powerhouse made heavyweights such as Kreator, Annihilator or Sepultura break into a cold sweat for fear of getting upstaged, headlined successful international concerts and left its mark at festivals like the Wacken Open Air.
After such a tour-de-force and given the experience the musicians gained, it is out of question to call them “Infants of Thrash” any longer, as the debut title suggested …but if there are still doubts about that, their second album, Memoir 414, will sweep them aside in style.
With the groundwork done by the band in collaboration with former Septic Flesh drummer Fotis Benardo at the helm of renowned Devasoundz Studios, the mastering job was entrusted to the practised hands of Henrik Udd (Architects, At The Gates, Dimmu Borgir and many more), and the result can only be described as state-of-the-art, setting thrash metal standards and thereby raising the bar for any genre act, upcoming and established alike.
In this regard, the tense political and social climate on their home turf and beyond cannot leave any attentive artist cold, either.
“For sure, Greece is were we come from and, as our local environment, has an impact on the music we make,” affirms Alpha, nevertheless quickly adding that they consider themselves to be global players. “These songs are meant to be a fresh start with which we want to make a difference.”
Therefore, although “Inc.” was affixed to their moniker due to legal issues, it comes at just the right time in the quintet’s career to distinguish it even more poignantly from the mediocre pack: Domination Inc. are truly incorporated – an organised, well-oiled machine set to, in the truest sense of the word, … dominate!
The new album, Memoir 414, will be released worldwide on August 23rd, 2019 through SPV / Steamhammer as a CD digipak version, LP version, download and stream.
For information and updates on Domination Inc. go to their official Facebook page here.
Domination Inc. are:
Aggelos “Alpha” Karatzas – drums
Aris “Ares” Karatzas – guitar
Kostas Evangeliou – guitar
Theodore Papadopoulos – vocals
Jim Kakes – bass

TOOL Performs Two New Songs, 'Descending' And 'Invincible', At WELCOME TO ROCKVILLE (Video)TOOL performed two new songs, "Descending" and "Invincible", as part of its headlining set Sunday night (May 5) at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Florida.
Although TOOL previously played an instrumental version of "Descending", last night's concert marked the first performance of the completed song with lyrics and vocals sung by frontman Maynard James Keenan.
"Descending" and "Invincible" are both expected to appear on TOOL's long-awaited follow-up to 2006's "10,000 Days" album, which will tentatively arrive this summer.
Drummer Danny Carey told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the band usually figures out how to play its new songs live after recording them. "We've never been fortunate enough to perform our material live before we recorded it, so some of the songs we almost actually had to learn how to play live, you know, before we went out, and that was interesting," he said. "It always is, though. We've kind of stuck to the similar processes along the way, so we're used to it."
There's still no official release date for TOOL's new disc, but Keenan said in February, "Best ballpark guess — release date somewhere between mid-May and mid-July. More focused updates to follow as we progress."
Welcome To Rockville was the opening show of TOOL's latest U.S. tour, which will run through mid-May. A string of summer European festival appearances will follow. 7

GOJIRA Drummer Says Work On New Album Is 'Going Well': 'We Are Super Proud Of It'GOJIRA drummer Mario Duplantier has confirmed to Phyllis of the Idaho rock radio station KBear 101 that the band is continuing to work on the follow-up to 2016's "Magma" album. "It's going well," he said. "I cannot give too much details because we still have to be on the same page with all the partners, and we have to give a collective [release] date and et cetera. But I can tell you that, yeah, we are working very hard on the new stuff. Work is in progress, and we are very, very, very happy and super proud of it. We just can't wait to give you more details."
"Magma" earned GOJIRA its first-ever Grammy nominations for "Best Metal Performance" and "Best Rock Album." GOJIRA's crushing track "Silvera" received a nomination for "Best Metal Performance", while "Magma" was nominated for "Best Rock Album" at the awards.
Last August, GOJIRA frontman Joseph "Joe" Duplantier told Metal Injection that the band started to work on new music almost two years ago. "Usually we write 12 songs and record 12 songs and release 12 songs," he said. "Now it looks like we're going to write 100 songs. It's a different approach and it's fun. We have new desires and a new way of doing things. I like to think it's going to be awesome. I feel it's going to be really exciting, for us at least. I don't know what people are going to think."
In the same interview, Joseph said that GOJIRA was planning to explore some new territory on the upcoming album. "I want to go back to some of the older influences that we have," he said. "We were always not a death metal band. Before that, I was a DIRE STRAITS fan, Michael Jackson. We have that in us and some progressive stuff too. We have all these things and we need to express that somehow, mixed with our own special sauce. We're working with stuff that sometimes is a bit surprising, even to us. Sometimes it's, like, 'What is this?' I don't know, let it sleep a little bit and go back to it. After this, we're going to go back into the studio and see what's going on."
GOJIRA will support SLIPKNOT this summer on the massive "Knotfest Roadshow" North American tour. Also appearing on the bill are VOLBEAT and BEHEMOTH. Produced by Live Nation, the 29-city outing will kick off July 26 in Mountain View, California at Shoreline Amphitheater and continue through September 8 where it will conclude with a performance at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas.

TESTAMENT In Pre-Production For New Album: 'It's Gonna Be A Monster Record'TESTAMENT has entered the studio with Juan Urteaga (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS) to begin pre-production on the follow-up to 2016's "Brotherhood Of The Snake" album.
Guitarist Eric Peterson confirmed the band was putting the finishing touches on its new music, writing on Instagram: "It's official! We're in the studio doing pre-production for new record. I think it's gonna be a monster record now that it's all coming together."
Added bassist Steve DiGiorgio: "PreProduction time. Commencement of #Testament new album. In the studio with Juan, @ericpetersonofficial and @therealgenehoglan working out what will be the new songs. Heavy!"
Drummer Gene Hoglan recently told Agoraphobic News that the band's upcoming album is shaping up to "a killer, kick-ass TESTAMENT record. Everybody's gonna enjoy it," he said. "TESTAMENT has a good grasp on what TESTAMENT does, so it's gonna be just another kick-ass TESTAMENT record. Totally."
Peterson said in an interview with Guitar World that he hoped TESTAMENT's next album would be a more collaborative effort than "Brotherhood Of The Snake", which saw him writing all the music in about three months and then e-mailing the songs to his bandmates.
For his part, guitarist Alex Skolnick told Heavy New York that TESTAMENT's new studio album, which is tentatively due later this year, will not necessarily sound like a direct follow-up to "Brotherhood Of The Snake".
"I think anytime we make a record, we don't think about the last record," he said. "That's done. Actually, the last thing we wanna be influenced by is the previous record. And I think it's pretty safe to say there's never been two records in a row where they're really that much alike. We don't have a 'period.' Sometimes bands release a pair or a series of records where there's a big similarity. We've never done that. So I think it's gonna be starting fresh. And we'll see where it goes… It's not pre-planned."
Last September, singer Chuck Billy told Inquisitr that TESTAMENT's next record would likely include a ballad. "We haven't done a ballad in 20-something years probably," he said. "I mean, a full-on ballad. 'Born In A Rut', off the other one ['Brotherhood Of The Snake'], it's soft and has melody, but it's not really a true ballad."
"Brotherhood Of The Snake" was recorded under the watchful eyes of Urteaga, Peterson and Billy and was mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap. 3

Ex-MORBID ANGEL Frontman DAVID VINCENT: 'Real Fans Buy Music'In a brand new interview with Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life, former MORBID ANGEL and current I AM MORBID frontman David Vincent was asked how he has been able to adapt to the access-over-ownership business model of streaming music. "Well, I'm in a slightly better position, because I have a history of sales, and that does continue," he responded (hear audio below). "I've always said this: real fans buy music. I buy music. And those who don't, who consider themselves a fan of music, what they're really doing is saying that they don't want their favorite bands to put out a new record. Because it's incredibly expensive to do these things, and when people just help themselves to it, then there's ramifications to that, which means people get to the point where they're frustrated and they can't pay their bills, or whatever, and then they stop doing it altogether. It's simple economics."
Vincent recently released "Something Wicked Marches In", the debut album from his supergroup VLTIMAS, also featuring guitarist Rune Eriksen (formerly of MAYHEM) and CRYPTOPSY drummer Flo Mounier. Vincent is also involved with I AM MORBID, whcih performs MORBID ANGEL's early material on the road.
In 2017, Vincent released his debut country single, "Drinkin' With The Devil", with tentative plans to complete a follow-up record this year.
Joining Vincent in I AM MORBID is former MORBID ANGEL drummer Tim Yeung alongside guitarists Bill Hudson (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Kelly McLauchlin.
Vincent left MORBID ANGEL in 2015. He has since been replaced by a returning Steve Tucker, who previously handled bass and vocals on MORBID ANGEL's "Formulas Fatal To The Flesh", "Gateways To Annihilation" and "Heretic" LPs.

Former OZZY OSBOURNE Guitarist GUS G. Would Be 'Happy And Honored' To Fill In For GLENN TIPTON In JUDAS PRIESTFormer OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G. says that he would "happy and honored" to play with JUDAS PRIEST if he were ever asked to fill in for Glenn Tipton.
When Tipton was forced to retire from full-time touring activities due to his diagnosis with Parkinson's disease, he and his PRIEST bandmates opted to hire Andy Sneap to step in, having gotten to know the British-born, 49-year-old producer when he helmed the group's latest album, "Firepower".
Asked by a fan on Twitter if he was ever approached by JUDAS PRIEST to cover for Glenn if Andy were to step back, Gus responded: "I haven't been approached by JP. I'm a huge fan (aren't we all?) and they sound great w/ brother Richie & Andy on gtr. If they ever need someone to cover Glenn/Andy's spot, I'd be happy & honored to fill in"
JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill recently said that it's up to Sneap to decide if he wants to carry on playing guitar for the band after the completion of the "Firepower" world tour. "Andy is now, these days, first and foremost a producer," he explained. "Whether he wants to go back and do that full time or not, it'll be a mutual decision when the time comes. Andy will be more than welcome to stay. He's done a tremendous job over the last year or so, really. He's done a great job stepping in for Glenn… We were only about three weeks away from starting the tour [laughs], and Andy stepped in and did a great job. He pulled a real rabbit out of the hat in learning a complete setlist of songs in such a short period of time. He pulled it off anyway. And as time's gone on, obviously, his stage presence, he got more comfortable with that, and he's performing great now. So when the time comes… We'll give it to the end of this run and then see what everybody wants to do. As I say, he'll be more than welcome to carry on with us if that's his plan."
Asked if PRIEST has anyone else in mind for the guitarist slot if Sneap ever decides to return to full-time producing, Hill said: "No, not at the time being. I mean, the plan at the moment is to go to the end of the year. The U.S. run, that'll take us up to the end of June. And we were gonna do some rearranged Ozzy Osbourne dates; we were special guesting with him, but he, unfortunately, got rather sick and had to cancel. And that's now being pushed back to February, so we've pretty much got the rest of the year off to sit back and see where we go from here. The plan is to tour next year with 50-year celebrations. And if Andy's with us, great. If he wants to carry on with producing, we'll more than understand that. He's done a tremendous job and he'll go with everyone's blessing. But, like I say, it will be time to consider that over the next few months or so."
Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but didn't announce he was going to sit out touring activities in support of "Firepower" until February 2018. The guitarist, who is now 71 and has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live.
JUDAS PRIEST will return to the United States this spring for a run with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP. The 32-date trek will kick off on May 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and wrap on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I haven't been approached by JP. I'm a huge fan (aren't we all?) and they sound great w/ brother Richie & Andy on gtr. If they ever need someone to cover Glenn/Andy's spot, I'd be happy & honored to fill in https://t.co/NKSltdHlfC— Gus G. (@gusgofficial) April 25, 20193
