MICHAEL ANTHONY Says VAN HALEN Reunion Tour Is 'Not Gonna Happen'Michael Anthony says that his much-rumored reunion tour with VAN HALEN is "not gonna happen."
A recent rumor has suggested that the original VAN HALEN lineup — including the bassist, who has not played with the band since 2004 — will reunite in 2019 for a run of stadium shows. This would be the first time that the four founding members of the band, including singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen, perform together since 1984.
Three days ago, Anthony — who spent much of the last few years on the road with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE — posted an Instagram photo of him sitting by a motorhome with an acoustic bass in hand along with the following caption: "A little R&R in the motorhome with the family before the start of The Circle tour with @Sammy-Hagar, @jasonbonham, [email protected] Johnson!! #lovethemotorhome #thecircle #readytorock"
After one fan wrote in the comments below the photo, "Thought the circle was on hold because of VH tour??" Anthony responded, saying: "VH tour not gonna happen"
Anthony's THE CIRCLE bandmate Sammy Hagar — himself a former VH member — recently confirmed that Michael was contacted last year by VAN HALEN's management about reuniting with the group for a tour.
Anthony said at his past January's NAMM show in Anaheim, California, that he wasn't opposed to reuniting with VAN HALEN, adding: "I don't know what kind of rumors are floating around or whatever, but I personally haven't been contacted by them yet or anything. So, at this point, nothing is happening. But you never know."
The rumors originally started with Roth, who hinted to Vulture that VAN HALEN would be playing stadiums this summer with Anthony back in the lineup.
VAN HALEN and Anthony have not been on good terms for more than a decade, with Anthony not invited to join the reunion with Roth that began in 2007. The subsequent two tours and studio album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", featured Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang on bass.
Anthony took a pay cut and signed away all of his rights to the band name and logo in order to participate in VAN HALEN's 2004 tour, which featured Hagar.
SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE's debut album of original material, "Space Between", will be released on May 10 through BMG.

"We titled our second album Ghastly Waves & Battered Graves because it's catchy, cold and metal as fuck," Vulture guitarist Stefan Genozider declares succinctly. This is not an overstatement. The follow up to 2017's cult sensation The Guillotine and their debut release for Metal Blade, the new full-length captures the German crew's dispensing scathing thrash at a standard that places them toe-to-toe with the best in their genre. It is also a dramatic step forward in terms of songwriting and execution. "With 'The Guillotine' we really restricted ourselves to reproducing our debut EP. We wanted it to sound the same, both in the actual music and sound-wise, but we knew that this wouldn't work a third time, so we sat down and talked about what was missing in what we had come up with so far. From that discussion, the overall goal for our second full-length was to get more variation in our songs, work out more melodic parts and allow ourselves to slow down a little here and there."
When it came to tracking, Vulture once again joined forces with close friend and producer Marco Brinkmann (Casket, Cross Vault) at Hellforge Studio in Detmold, Germany. "Overall, the album sounds very aggressive and cold, and our producer Marco once again managed to catch exactly what we wanted and mapped out a great mix that fits our music perfectly. There's a lot of room for all those small accents and hints, but it also sounds very direct, in-your-face-alike, if you will," says Genozider. With Brinkmanns' incredibly busy schedule, their only window for recording were ten days in August, which turned out to be during the hottest summer the region had experienced in decades. This obviously made for quite an intense process, but the band was well prepared thanks to the countless hours spent in pre-production and targeted on what they wanted to achieve they managed to finish up a day early. They also tracked a cover of Thin Lizzy's "Killer On The Loose" to cap off the collection. "Finding a fitting cover isn't easy but this track just clicks with Vulture," enthuses Axetinctor. "You have the lyrical theme, the ripping riffs and most importantly it's a great song by one of our favorite bands."

THE ROLLING STONES Cancel No Filter North American Tour - "Mick Has Been Advised By Doctors That He Cannot Go On Tour At This Time"The Rolling Stones have had to announce the postponement of their upcoming US / Canada tour dates. In a statement the rock legends say: “We apologise for any inconvenience this causes those who have tickets to shows but wish to reassure fans to hold onto these existing tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates, which will be announced shortly. Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment. The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.
Mick Jagger: “I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets, I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on the road as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”
The Rolling Stones were scheduled to bring their hugely successful No Filter tour to only one date in Canada: Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte on Canada Day weekend, Saturday June 29th for Canada Rocks with The Rolling Stones. Burl’s Creek was to be the final stop on the North American leg of the No Filter tour
The No Filter tour has amassed rave reviews for Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood as they played to sold out stadiums throughout the UK and Europe last year and Republic Live is expecting no less for ‘Canada Rocks with the Rolling Stones’ at Burl’s Creek. The set list has the iconic group treating generations of fans to classic Stones hits including “Sympathy For The Devil,” “Paint It Black,” “Brown Sugar,” “Miss You,” in addition to special gems from their celebrated catalog.

TOMI JOUTSEN Says 'Queen Of Time' Album Is 'Highlight' Of His Career In AMORPHISTomi Joutsen says last year's "Queen Of Time" studio album is the "highlight" of his career thus far in AMORPHIS. Joutsen joined the Finnish melancholic progressive metallers in 2004 as replacement for Pasi Koskinen and has been widely credited for the band's subsequent career rebirth that started with his first AMORPHIS album, 2006's "Eclipse". The band's latest two studio albums, 2015's "Under The Red Cloud" and "Queen Of Time" have been particularly well received, enabling the band to play in territories it had not reached on previous tour cycles.
During an interview with Hungary's Impact metal channel, Joutsen spoke about the reception to "Queen Of Time" and AMORPHIS's recently completed European tour with SOILWORK and JINJER.
"I think this latest album ['Queen Of Time'], I think it's been kind of the biggest highlight in a way," Joutsen said. "Of course, the first show that I played with AMORPHIS was a big moment and the first record we did, 'Eclipse', it was a big thing and the first tours in Europe and the States, but I think with this album, we have made some success. Like, for example, this tour [with SOILWORK], there has been, I don't know how many sold-out shows already. It's not the first time, but this time — in Finland, for example, we played bigger venues and there were lots of sold-out shows there also. Something really good happened with this album. I can feel there's some kind of hype, if you can call it that. It's not like a hugely successful [thing]. I've been with the band for 14 years, and now I feel like something big might happen in the future."
Joutsen was also asked where he thinks AMORPHIS's strongest fanbase resides. "I think the Germany area is the strongest," he responded. "Of course, Finland. But Europe in general is maybe the biggest because of all the best venues for us are in Europe. We have played now a couple of times in the States. We had a break there. I think there was an eight-year gap or something, but now we have a couple of tours there and it's getting better. I think the biggest fanbase is in Europe, but we are really open-minded when it comes to what places to play. We have also played in Australia and Japan and China. Now we're going to have a two-week tour in Russia, too. We haven't played Africa, I think, but it would be cool to go there, if asked."
"Queen Of Time" was released last May via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2015's "Under The Red Cloud" includes the use of real strings, flutes, orchestral arrangements and even choirs. In addition, this is the first time that people are able to hear AMORPHIS lyricist Pekka Kainulainen on the album, as he contributes a speech in Finnish. 37

LIVING COLOUR's COREY GLOVER Collaborates With STEPHEN DEACUTIS: 'Final Resting Place' VideoThe official music video for "Final Resting Place", the first single from STEVIE D FEAT. COREY GLOVER, a musical partnership between producer and multi-instrumentalist Stephen DeAcutis a.k.a. Stevie D and legendary singer Corey Glover (LIVING COLOUR), can be seen below. The track is taken from STEVIE D FEAT. COREY GLOVER's debut album, "Torn From The Pages", which will be released in May worldwide through Mighty Music.
Stevie D comments: "I am extremely pleased that Michael H. Andersen and Mighty Music are partnering up with me to deliver this music to ears and hearts of the music appreciating people of the world. This is a very important record for me and it represents a very powerful chapter in my life, hence 'Torn From The Pages'."
Michael H. Andersen, CEO Mighty Music/Target Group: "Having been a big fan of Corey Glover since discovering LIVING COLOUR back in the late 80s, I feel so honored Stevie D has placed this album in my hands. This is authentic soulful rock with a hard edge and songwriting and producer skills from another dimension."
DeAcutis has been working professionally as a guitar player, mixer, producer, multi-instumentalist, engineer, writer, and performer since the early 1980s, having honed his skills and training under such studio heavyweights as Andy Wallace (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, NIRVANA), Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, AEROSMITH) and Max Norman (OZZY OSBOURNE), amassing credits that include such acts as VANILLA FUDGE, Vinny Moore, Pat Travers, Carmine and Vinny Appice, Punky Meadows and Cyndi Lauper, to name a few.
States DeAcutis: "This record has been a long time in the making and I am very proud of the outcome and I feel this is some of my best work to date. Corey gave me the goods in his vocal performances and it is a blessing that he has given me his heart, soul and amazing vocal abilities to represent my music. I am truly blessed."

CHOKEHOLD Streaming “Profit Over People” SingleAfter a triumphant return earlier this month with their new single "2.0," Chokehold have announced a second track titled "Profit Over People" off new LP due out this spring. Vocalist Chris Logan comments on the song:
"It seems like every other month we are hearing about another friend, family member or acquaintance gone from substance addiction. The alarming thing that a lot of these people had in common is being prescribed opioids to deal with what may have been a simple pain relief issue at the time. Without the much-needed education and resources, it can feel like a helpless battle for those addicted and those around them."
"The pharmaceutical companies responsible for the opioid crisis know precisely what they are doing, running their business like a criminal empire with prizes going to the pushers. No one should expect to transition to drug addiction after seeking pain relief from someone they are supposed to trust. Sounds unbelievable but over 80% of Heroin users reported that their first opioid was a prescription drug. Our addictions are their profits and what is even more sickening is that some of these same people are trying to profit again with medications to treat the same addictions they caused."
"Our governments are being bought and controlled by these companies, and this keeps recovery programs and education severely underfunded and alternatives to pain relief illegal. Addiction is not a weakness or lack of willpower; this is about the vulnerable being taken advantage of at their most desperate time."
"How many more close to us are we going to let be victims of this vicious cycle?"
"What can we do to change the outcome?"
With This Thread I Hold On will be released on April 19th, 2019, via Good Fight Music. Pre-orders are live now. Both "Profit Over People" and "2.0" are also available as an iTunes instant grat tracks. Fans who pre-order the LP on iTunes will receive both songs as instant downloads.
Brimming with the pointed rage and dissonant directness of defining hardcore-punk bands like Born Against and Infest, melded with the heavy introspection of Unbroken, Chokehold has finally captured their own lightning in a bottle. Where each previous record was an improbable and accidentally magical product of circumstance, With This Thread I Hold On boasts new levels of musicianship, crisp production, and dynamics. Chokehold is as heavy as ever, yet ten times catchier.

PROPHETS OF ADDICTION Release "Babylon Boulevard" Music VideoHollywood glam/punk n' roll act, Prophets Of Addiction, have released the video for their single "Babylon Boulevard".
"Babylon Boulevard," is pulled from Prophets Of Addiction's unplugged, third album, Nothing But The Truth (HiVolMusic) and tells the story of an adventure in what became a modern day Babylon in Hollywood, CA. What starts as innocent fun can quickly turn into a a one way street on a dead end drive. Be careful what you do as its easy to check in but not always so easy to check out.
Nothing But The Truth wasn't the album the band was scheduled to make but frontman Lesli Sanders and guitarist, G.G. changed course on the new recordings after drummer Wayne Stokely had become too ill to participate in the sessions, as well as a tour preceding the recording. Produced by Sanders himself at Whine Cellar Studios in Tacoma, WA and mixed and mastered by Phil Soussan (member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band, Billy Idol, Beggars and Thieves and more) at Blue Cat Tales in Hollywood, Nothing But The Truth is ten songs that are given the acoustic treatment in their own inimitable raw, dirty and honest way.
The video for "Babylon Boulevard" was shot in and around Tacoma, WA as well as in front of a green screen. Sanders says, "We chose a film noire kinda vibe with the black and white treatment and the use of a 1940s Ford Coupe. The ending of the video will say it all."
Nothing But The Truth can be purchased on iTunes and on Amazon.

Watch DEE SNIDER Perform In São Paulo, BrazilFan-filmed video footage of Dee Snider's March 23 concert at Tom Brasil in São Paulo, Brazil can be seen below.
The TWISTED SISTER frontman is continuing to play shows in support of his latest solo album, "For The Love Of Metal", which was released last July via Napalm Records. The disc, which was produced by HATEBREED vocalist Jamey Jasta, features contributions from Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Mark Morton (LAMB OF GOD), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (TOXIC HOLOCAUST), and Charlie Bellmore (KINGDOM OF SORROW).
Snider told Decibel magazine about the musical direction of "For The Love Of Metal": "I love contemporary metal and I think that's why it sounds so genuine. I go to shows. My kids are all metalheads, especially my daughter, she's hardcore. Over the years, because she was so young, I had to escort her to these shows, so I was exposed to all these hardcore bands. I love the passion, and I love the 'I've got nothing to lose' attitude that these bands have. That's what you lose when you're successful. You lose that fearlessness. I'd much rather listen to bands that have that heart and that passion than listen to people who have lost it. I've always been in tune with that and have loved it. Jamey, in writing, we sat and talked endlessly about what matters to me now and about what I wanted to say now and where was I at emotionally now."
In a separate interview with Distorted Sound, Snider said that he has found his place in the contemporary music scene with "For The Love Of Metal". "I'm so happy to be doing this," he said. "This record defines me as a person who wants to feel vital what I'm doing now matters and counts. I'm so happy I thought there wasn't that place in music for me. I've been doing Broadway, radio, TV, movies, I've been finding my place now with other things that I've been doing, but my first love is metal and music, and to do a record that I feel is a place now… My wife said she hasn't seen me this happy in a long time, and I'm always happy. She said I have an odd, childlike glee. It's crazy. I know, I'm [64] and not that I feel it. I'm healthy, people see me rock and their minds are blowing. I didn't think at this point in my life, this would be happening."
TWISTED SISTER called it quits in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour.

THE UNDERGROUND THIEVES Mix Sax And Psychedelia In "White Noise"; Music VideoThe Underground Thieves, a music collective led by guitarist/songwriter/producer Nick Perri, has released its new single, “White Noise”. Blending hypnotic vocal harmonies, psychedelic rock and blues moods, and - for the first time in Thieves history - saxophone, “White Noise” is the band’s seventh release to date.
Produced by Perri, “White Noise” features new Underground Thieves additions: Anthony Montesano and Michael Montesano (Pepper’s Ghost) on lead vocals and Julie Sussman on saxophone. The track includes Justin DiFebbo (K-Floor) on Hammond organ and piano, as well as the group’s core rhythm section, bassist Brian Weaver (Silvertide) and drummer John Bach (Mount Holly).
Detailing the inception of the single, Perri said, “White Noise” is a result of the group’s ambitions to challenge itself to hone new and entrancing sounds. We approached ‘White Noise’ with a desire to grow as a band - to get out of our comfort zone and write free of any restraints. We made sure the recording encapsulated everything we love about music.”
The Underground Thieves also released the accompanying “White Noise” music video today, which can be seen below.
Filmmaker and longtime Thieves collaborator Austin M. Bauman shot the Joshua Tree set video, which Perri wrote, directed, and edited. Graphic designer and former Silvertide bandmate Mark Melchiorre, Jr. added custom special effects to complement the song’s psychedelic nature.
“The desert has played such an influential role in our band’s sound and aesthetic, so it made sense to choose that as the video’s setting,” said Perri. “It was important for us to raise the bar visually, too, creating something that allows our fans to tune in and space out - to go somewhere else for six or seven minutes.”
“White Noise” - along with The Underground Thieves’ six preceding singles - is available on iTunes, Spotify and other major music networks. It was mixed and mastered by Marc DiSisto, whose credits include U2, Pink Floyd, Sheryl Crow, Joe Cocker and Don Henley, among other classic rock and pop icons. DiSisto also engineered Silvertide’s “Show & Tell” album, on which Perri was lead guitarist and co-songwriter.
Five singles, dubbed “chapters,” have yet to be released in The Underground Thieves’ 12-part story, a plan detailed by Perri last year. The band will release these anticipated chapters in real-time, upon completion of each song. Following the release of its twelfth chapter, the band will compile all chapters into a full-length album to be distributed both physically and electronically.

DIESEAR Release “Endless Dolour” Music VideoDiesear have released another new music video for the track “Endless Dolour” today off their new LP coming out next month. Directed by Cheng Chung Kai, this is the second music video we’ve seen from the Taiwanese death metal band. “Endless dolour, inspired by the suicide, depicts the torment of souls," says the band. "Alive or dead, pain and grief would continue on like reincarnation, with no real end.”
The band will release a new LP titled BloodRed Inferno on April 12, 2019. BloodRed Inferno will be the band’s third full length and the follow up to Ashes of the Dawn which was released in 2013. “After years of incubation, we are back," says the band. "And with even more destructive and ruthless melody that you all yearn for. Deepest gratitude to eOne, who spot our glare and make this wild ride possible.”
On this new LP, Diesear cements themselves as East Asia’s most important and altogether thrilling melodic death metal outfit. A conceptually driven record drawn from the themes and revelations of the first part of Dante Alighieri’s 14-century epic poem, The Divine Comedy, BloodRed Inferno tells an allegorical tale of human sin, against a backdrop of technical heaviness.
In recent years, American metal luminaries like Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe and Black Dahlia Murder’s Trevor Strnad have embraced the Taipei scene. Diesear has been a pioneering trailblazer in Taiwan for over a decade.
Diesear formed in 2007 and issued their first EP, Sear, the following year. 2009 saw the arrival of their debut full-length album, The Inner Sear. There was a four-year gap between the first album and their sophomore set, Ashes of the Dawn, which elevated the group to even greater prominence. Diesear toured Asia with Children Of Bodom and appeared at Helsinki, Finland’s prestigious Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in 2014, alongside heavy music titans Emperor, Anthrax, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, Neurosis, and Carcass.
BloodRed Inferno marks a turn toward more violent and brutal lyrical fare, without sacrificing the guitar. The solos are even faster and more technical. Speed, elegance, riffs, pummeling percussion, and soaring melodies collide. With their most accomplished album thus far, bassist Yen, drummer Sathon, and Sui blaze a destructive path, combining death metal, black metal, and melody, with passionate vigor and resolve.
Nevertheless, Diesear persisted, and with BloodRed Inferno, the rewards are sure to grow. Diesear makes music that transcends politics, and borders. The quartet’s ambition is nothing less than greatness, as they smash barriers and cross any divide. The difficult challenges they’ve faced to ensure their music is heard have only contributed to its beauty. The struggle is evident within the songs. Diesear represents the strength of determination.

HELLWITCH To Release New Album This YearFlorida death metal veterans HELLWITCH have inked a deal with Listenable Records. The band is finishing up the songwriting for its new album, to be recorded this spring for a late 2019 release.
HELLWITCH's main songwriter and founder Patrick Ranieri comments: "After a decade of strategic planning and musical manipulation... the new HELLWITCH album will bombastically obliterate all those who have survived our previous releases. The album will contain a maelstrom of barbarity spanning from 1985 to present. Crowning tracks such as 'Anthropophagi', 'Delegated Disruption', 'Solipsistic Immortality' and the song 'Hellwitch' will reveal what true, pioneering Florida deathrash really is. Make no mistake, earplugs can't save you! Satan won't save you! Even the bomb shelter beneath your city's center will provide no protection from this monarchical metal mysterium!!! Begin the countdown to cataclysmic ignition!"
Says Listenable: "After all those years, saying we're super proud to be able to work with such an incredible band as Florida's HELLWITCH would be an understatement. This band has been churning out the most vicious and imparable face-melting thrashing death metal riffs since the mid-eighties with exuberant conviction, musicianship and uniqueness."
HELLWITCH formed back in 1984 and released several demos and seven-inch EPs during the second half of the '80s before issuing a highly acclaimed debut album, "Syzygyal Miscreancy", in 1990 and a mini-CD, "Terraasymmetry", in 1992. They recorded a few more demos through the '90s until they finally completed their 2005 recording, "The Epitome of Disgrace", which led to an agreement with Xtreem Music and the release of 2009's "Omnipotent Convocation".
HELLWITCH 2019 is:
Patrick Ranieri: Lead And Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
J.P. Brown: Rhythm Guitar
Brian Wilson: Drums
Julian David Guillen: Bass (Live)

SHARON OSBOURNE Once Propositioned 'Friends' Star MATT LEBLANC For A Threesome With OZZYOn today's episode of the CBS daytime talk show "The Talk", it was revealed that Matt LeBlanc, star of the hit sitcom "Friends", was once invited by "The Talk" host Sharon Osbourne to join her and husband, Ozzy Osbourne, in a threesome.
"The Talk" aired footage of LeBlanc on an episode of Conan O'Brien's TBS talk show "Conan" in which the actor recalled Sharon's proposition backstage at the Golden Globes.
"I run into Sharon Osbourne, and I say, 'My God, I'm such a big fan of your husband's. He is so awesome.' And this is what she says to me, with a completely straight face — immediately she goes, 'Oh, that's great! Maybe after this, you'll come back to the house and we'll have a threesome.'" The actor went on to say that Sharon was "obviously, hopefully kidding," to which O'Brien, with a straight face, said, "I will tell you, she was not."
Sharon set the record straight on "The Talk", admitting, "I was ish-ish kidding. If he'd of gone for it, I'd've called my husband and said, 'Listen....'" She added: "I would have loved to have filmed it... Maybe we can do Conan too. I don't see why not." 13

SLUDGEHAMMER Reveal Apocalyptic Music Video “Climatic Death”Toronto’s Sludgehammer are ready to pummel the masses with their forthcoming album Antechamber ready to destroy eardrums on April 12th, 2019.
Heavy and groovy, Sludgehammer delivers the goods with astounding precision and the confidence of a world-class band. Their new music video for their second single "Climatic Death" is getting fans ready for the inevitable apocalypse.
"From its groove laden intro to its blasterrific chorus, this is a crushing track from start to finish. We find it skillfully combines heavy guitar riffs, killer vocals, and intense drumming while showcasing an ear for melody and song structure. While the lyrical content is rather dark (think apocalyptic global warming kind of dark), the song itself is a rocking good time, as you will see in the video. We really enjoyed writing this track and giving it a ripping performance to rock out to."

LED ZEPPELIN's JOHN PAUL JONES Performs With SONIC YOUTH's THURSTON MOORE In London (Video)On March 28, LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones teamed up with SONIC YOUTH's Thurston Moore and Steve Noble for a one-off concert at the 100 Club in London. The event was a benefit show for Resonance 104.4 FM, a London based non-profit community radio station specializing in the arts run by the London Musicians' Collective.
According to Led Zeppelin News, there was no setlist for the evening. Instead the three men played two improvised works followed by an encore improvisational performance.
John Paul Jones is a restless and radical musical innovator for over half a century — as composer, arranger, and producer across genres ranging from pop to opera to electronica and avant-garde
Moore has been a key figure in alternative music since co-founding the band SONIC YOUTH in 1981. Now based in London, he runs the Ecstatic Peace! record label and library, publishes poetry and records as a solo artist.
Noble is the collaborator of choice of countless free jazz iconoclasts, including Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee and Matthew Shipp.
Jones previously played with Moore and SONIC YOUTH in 2009 as part of a stage show called "Nearly Ninety" to celebrate choreographer Merce Cunningham's 90th birthday. The event took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music just months before Cunningham's death.

ANTHEM Release "Gypsy Ways" Live VideoJapan's Anthem have released their re-recorded greatest hits album, Nucleus, in North America via Golden Robot Records, and elsewhere via Nuclear Blast. Watch a live video for "Gypsy Ways", featured on the bonus CD that comes with Nuclear Blast version of Nucleus.
On the eve of the bands 35th Anniversary, their popularity in Japan remains as high as ever and their worldwide fan base continues to grow. Thus the idea of an all English re-record of their biggest hits came to be.
Band leader and bassist Naoto Shibata comments: "Our re-recorded greatest hits album with English lyrics, represents all that this is Anthem’s nucleus. I am honoured from the bottom of my heart that we can present this to our fans. Anthem will keep doing our best to move forward heading for the future as always. I hope you all will enjoy Nucleus.”
Mixing and mastering for Nucleus were done by the legendary Jens Bogren. His works based on elaborate theories and a great store of knowledge helped Anthem achieve their goals on this release. Nucleus is heavy with Jens' fat sound and rich low-end that he has made the worldwide heavy metal standard.
This re-recorded greatest hits, including a variety of their classics is a monumental work, which perfectly shows the musical quality of Anthem and proves that they can be ranked as a global act in the international metal scene.
Anthem guitarist Akio Shimizu states: "Those 13 songs were not easy to re-record at all, however I believe they fully got the sound and the expression of today’s Anthem while being true to the originals at the same time. Please give it to a listen and feel the details of the album with the fresh mixing by Jens Bogren."
Vocalist Yukio Morikawa says of the recordings: "Singing all the songs in English was not easy at all for me, but I hope this album will show the world that Japan has a band like us who loves metal this much. I hope you enjoy Nucleus!"

DEF LEPPARD Inducted Into ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME (Video)DEF LEPPARD was finally inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Friday night (March 29) — 14 years after the British rockers first became eligible.
The 34th annual ceremony took place at Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center and saw DEF LEPPARD inducted by QUEEN's Brian May.
"[Singer] Joe [Elliott] and I, in particular, have shared many precious and fun moments," May recalled. "We have a strong bond and he’s one of my dearest pals. When news got out of [Freddie Mercury's] passing, the first call I got was from Joe Elliott."
DEF LEPPARD members entering the Rock Hall include the current lineup — Elliott, guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell, bassist Rick Savage and drummer Rick Allen — along with founding guitarist Pete Willis and LEPPARD's late guitarist Steve Clark.
The 2019 Rock Hall class also includes Stevie Nicks, THE ZOMBIES, Janet Jackson, THE CURE, RADIOHEAD and ROXY MUSIC.
Elliott delivered an acceptance speech on DEF LEPPARD's behalf, telling the audience: "Those songs we've written over the years were always our main priority. And although there seemed to be a looming sense of tragedy around every corner, we just wouldn't let it in. But it's true, it did seem that every time we made some musical headway, life would knock us back down somewhat. 'Pyromania' is a raging success… then Rick has a life-changing accident. He survived it and came out the other side stronger. 'Hysteria' gave us the global success that we'd always craved… and then we lost Steve. But we survived and came out the other side stronger people. And that's the way it's always played out throughout our career. So let's face facts here, if alcoholism, car crashes and cancer couldn’t kill us, the nineties had no fucking chance."
Elliott also thanked his parents, saying his father loaned the band £150 to make their first very recording back in 1978 while his mother taught him the first guitar chords he ever knew. "I've learned two more since," Elliott then quipped, "and I've come to realize you don't actually really need them at all."
For the performance part of the evening, DEF LEPPARD chose to play four of its biggest hits: "Hysteria", "Rock Of Ages", "Photograph" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me".
The 2019 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame concluded with an all-star performance of David Bowie's "All The Young Dudes", featuring DEF LEPPARD, Ian Hunter, May, Steve Van Zandt, THE BANGLES' Susanna Hoffs and THE ZOMBIES' Rod Argent.
HBO will broadcast a truncated version of the ceremony on Saturday, April 27 at 8 p.m. EST.
One of the top-selling rock acts of of all time, DEF LEPPARD had been eligible for the Rock Hall since 2004. 2

VADER Launch Pre-Order For Thy Messenger EP; More Details RevealedPolish extreme metal veterans, Vader, will release a new EP, titled Thy Messenger, on May 31 via Nuclear Blast. The effort will contain four of the five songs that were recorded over a week-long period in January and February at Hertz Studio in Białystok, Poland under the supervision of the Wiesławski Brothers.
The cover art was painted by Wes Benscoter, who previously worked with Vader on the De Profundis LP and has collaborated with such bands as Slayer, Kreator and Sinister. A new full Vader album will be recorded later this year for a tentative fall release.
Pre-order the EP here.
Tracklisting:
"Grand Deceiver"
"Litany"
"Emptiness"
"Despair"
"Steeler"
The band comments: "We decided to record the new EP because we knew that the full length new album won’t be released before the end of 2019. We’re back on the road in June and we plan to have some newtunes ready for our fans throughout the summer. We’re due to start the recording process for the new Vader LP in April in England. For the time being we’ve named the album …And Then There Was Only Pain, and it should be completed by the end of May - when Thy Messenger EP is due to be released worldwide.
"The EP includes three new tracks - mostly really vicious and aggressive tracks, even for Vader. 'Emptiness' is more groovy in the main riff but really heavy at the end. All the songs are fast and short, but pretty intense, I guess. We’ve also added a new version of our classic title track from Litany. It is 20 years since we recorded that album at the Red Studio. 'Litany' - as a song - and many more from that album have never been performed live. This album is still one of the fan favourites in the Vader discography and in 2019 we will resurrect this whole record as part of our live shows this autumn. Another bonus is the absolute classic cover of 'Steeler' which was always one of my all time favorite Priest songs."

Report: Hamilton Heavy Metal Pub Owner On Sponsoring Syrian Refugees - "It's The Most Metal Thing I've Ever Done"Following is an excerpt from a CBC report by Adam Carter:
In Tyler Berglund's home, heavy metal imagery reigns supreme — from the embossed 666 plaques resting above a doorway in the kitchen, to the scores of life-sized Lord of the Rings weapons lining the walls.
This might not be a home where you would initially expect to find people who would sponsor a family of Syrian refugees coming to Canada, fleeing persecution in search of a better life. But that's exactly what Berglund — who owns Hamilton's heavy metal mainstay The Doors Pub — is doing, alongside a group of family and friends.
Most refugee sponsors tend to be older, and part of faith-based institutions. That's a far cry from this group of atheists in their 30s, who are covered in tattoos and live and breathe extreme metal.
"The reaction we get from 100 per cent of the organizations we deal with is, 'Really? You?'" Berglund said. "But I was just moved to contribute because of the luxuries we have in Canada."
Muslim Hamo, for her part, says her sponsor's love of heavy metal never once caused any sort of rift.
"It didn't create any barrier," she said, adding that she never once thought "I don't want this in my life," despite some dark imagery.
"They were open minded about everything," Berglund said.
The sponsorship group really got a kick out of Muslim Hamo liking a Facebook video Berglund once posted of Dimmu Borgir; a symphonic black metal band best known for songs like "Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse" or a cover of Twisted Sister's "Burn In Hell".
With one family getting on its feet, Berglund and his co-sponsors are now preparing to sponsor a second family — a burgeoning tradition they hope can continue for many years.
"I would describe this in two ways," Berglund said. "The first way is it's the most metal thing I've ever done, and then more specifically, to people who aren't in the metal community, I'd say it's the most meaningful thing I've ever done."

Video Premiere: MEAT PUPPETS' 'Nine Pins'MEAT PUPPETS' original lineup, Curt and Cris Kirkwood and returning drummer Derrick Bostrom, has released a video for "Nine Pins" off the band's latest album, "Dusty Notes", available now via Megaforce.
The MEAT PUPPETS' story begins with three kids, enamored of music and immersed in the psychedelic drug culture of Arizona in the '70s, who find their way to punk rock and painstakingly become one of the most important bands of the American underground. "We began to make such a hellacious racket that we knew we were on to something," says returning drummer Derrick Bostrom. The PUPPETS went on to achieve mainstream rock stardom, with a hiatus and resurrection follow.
At their induction into the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall Of Fame in 2017, the original lineup of the MEAT PUPPETS — brothers Cris and Curt Kirkwood and Bostrom — joined together onstage for the first time in over two decades.
Throughout a set that included era-defining songs like "Lake Of Fire", "Plateau" and "Backwater", the chemistry was more than promising, as Bostrom isn't shy to point out. "It was so intense that even I couldn't deny it! I remember why we did this. It was magical." "It was the psychedelic fuckin' time machine," adds Chris. "Mind-blowing."
That rekindling has resulted in "Dusty Notes", the first MEAT PUPPETS studio album to feature the original trio since 1995's "No Joke!"
Since the band debuted in the early '80s, Curt Kirkwood has continually proven himself to be among the most brilliant songwriters of his generation. Time after time, album after album, he's demonstrated an extraordinary ability to draw upon various roots and rock styles en route to a unique new vision of what the MEAT PUPPETS can be. His latest contributions, especially songs such as "Warranty", "On", "Nine Pins", "Outflow" could be forgotten gems from Nashville, Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon.
"Dusty Notes" also features keyboardist Ron Stabinsky, a jazz-trained virtuoso adept at any style, and Curt's son Elmo, whose old-school rock-guitar grit ideally complements his father's spacier explorations. Intuitive, inspired and overflowing with genuine musicianship, it's the sort of band that can transform what Curt describes as "simple yet engaging" songs into maiden voyages each night on the road. "I can ignore my vocal and listen to the other four guys play," Kirkwood laughs. "They're all so good."
"The band has been a really, really deep font of creativity," Derrick said. "Love it or hate it, hit or miss, Curt is just prodigious. They are still living the rock lifestyle; they're not doing it by half measures. They stayed on the road. These guys are uncompromising. I consider the MEAT PUPPETS to be a national treasure."
The MEAT PUPPETS' U.S. tour begins April 4 in Mill Valley, California.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES Singer Releases Lyric Video For 'The Promise' SongThe official lyric video for the song "The Promise" from BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Black) can be seen below. The track is taken from his much-anticipated sophomore album, "The Ghost Of Ohio", which will be released on April 12 via Lava/Republic.
"The Ghost Of Ohio" sees Black re-teaming with Grammy-nominated producer John Feldmann (BLINK-182, PANIC! AT THE DISCO), who helmed 2016's acclaimed debut, "The Shadow Side". "Westwood Road" was mixed by Grammy winner Neil Avron (TWENTY ONE PILOTS, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS). The new album is semi-autobiographical, mining the haunted history of Black's hometown to tell a story that explores his childhood anxieties and obsessions.
Black, who's always had a reverence for the magical convergence of sight and sound, created the diverse album to also serve as a soundtrack for its graphic novel counterpart, marrying melancholy themes with upbeat rock and pop to tell the tale of someone who died young and whose spirit inhabits an area for a hundred years looking for ways to connect. The album's artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor (ICED EARTH, TESTAMENT).
Black will support the album with "The Ghost Of North America" tour, a headlining run that will kick off April 7 at Ace of Spades in Sacramento, California.
Black, born Andy Biersack, left Cincinnati for Hollywood at age 18. He lived out of his car, broke, and as Rolling Stone once put it, "subsisting on visions of what would become his wildly successful glam-metal outfit, BLACK VEIL BRIDES." By his early 20s, he led BLACK VEIL BRIDES on extensive world tours, released a string of Billboard Top 10 and 20 albums and was splashed across the covers and pages of magazines ranging from AP to Italian Vogue.
On the "The Shadow Side", Biersack stretched his creative wings beyond the blueprint of the vintage-Sunset-Strip-meets-modern-hard-rock-vibe of BLACK VEIL BRIDES. "That album was the beginning of a return to who I've always wanted to be," he says. "A rediscovering of my deepest roots."
