THE OFFSPRING Is 'Discussing' Possible Livestream ConcertIn a new interview with Germany's Radio Bob!, THE OFFSPRING guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman was asked if he and his bandmates have considered staging a livestream concert during the coronavirus pandemic. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Yeah, but we'd wanna make it a real spectacle. We wouldn't wanna do something that just comes across as some guys playing on YouTube. There are some of these that are done really well and some of these that are not so interesting to watch. Especially if you're gonna charge people for a livestream, you wanna make sure it's really done well. So, yeah, we're discussing all of that. We're also very hopeful that with the advent of the vaccines and getting the vaccines out to everybody that the virus is gonna slow to a point where we can start gathering again in groups. And fingers crossed, we're gonna be coming your way hopefully before the end of the year."
THE OFFSPRING's tenth studio album, "Let The Bad Times Roll", will arrive on April 16 via Concord Records. The follow-up to 2012's "Days Go By" was once again produced by Bob Rock, who also worked on the band's last two LPs.
Singer Bryan "Dexter" Holland, Noodles, drummer Pete Parada and new bassist Todd Morse wrote and recorded "Let The Bad Times Roll" in the last few years at various locations, including the band's studio in Huntington Beach, California.
In December, THE OFFSPRING released the official music video for its Rock-produced cover version of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)", a rock song originally sung by Darlene Love and included on the 1963 seasonal compilation album "A Christmas Gift For You" from Phil Spector.
Last April, THE OFFSPRING jumped on the "Tiger King" bandwagon by recording a cover version of THE CLINTON JOHNSON BAND's "Here Kitty Kitty", a song made popular by Joe Schreibvogel — better known as Joe Exotic, the "Tiger King" — through the Netflix docuseries.

AMENRA To Release De Doorn Album In June; "De Evenmens" Music Video PostedAmenra announce their Relapse Records full-length debut, De Doorn, coming June 25. Watch Amenra’s official “De Evenmens” music video, directed by Dehn Sora, below.
Amenra vocalist Colin H. van Eeckhout comments: “We are only here for a split second in history. This song is about finding the answer within the question, man's search for his place here on earth. A journey of sorrow with mere moments of beauty and happiness and this all in relation to his or her fellowman. To accept what is. Our brother Dehn Sora sculpted the digital world where Everman dwells, protected by its thorns, wounded by the others. Sacrificing blood of gold.”
De Doorn is out June 25 on Deluxe 2xLP/2xLP/CD/CS/Digital. Physical pre-orders via Relapse.com are available here. Digital Downloads/Streaming here. A super limited, one time press features gold foil stamping printed on jackets and are available exclusively through Relapse.com and at band live performances.
De Doorn tracklisting:
"Ogentroost"
"De Dood In Bloei"
"De Evenmens"
"Het Gloren"
"Voor Immer"
"De Evenmens" video:
Amenra’s first release for Relapse Records is at once a departure and a momentous act of deliverance. Stepping outside the run of albums titled Mass I-VI, De Doorn casts a 21-year journey from the heart of Belgium’s crusading hardcore scene to world-renowned, spiritually guided innovators in an enthralling new light.
Ritual, remembrance and hard-won rebirth have always been at the heart of Amenra’s colossal, soul-purging approach. Centered around frontman Colin H. Van Eeckhout, but marked out by a transcendent unity of purpose, their albums have acted as totemic, personal marker points, a means to process individual grief as a shared, cathartic experience. Their live shows are acts of incendiary, communal exorcism that reach a cusp of sublime, out-of-body experience. A closely knit collective, they transport you to a febrile state where confrontation of pain, transformation and true healing can occur.
Amenra have always been profoundly bound to their hometowns around Flanders, the weight of that area’s war-torn history. The sacrifice and sense of a larger purpose that bridges the fragility of humanity and the pull of an immaculate ideal is carried as an ever-present resonance. No more is this apparent than in the spectacular, commemorative events the band have performed in recent years – to mark ending of the First World War; the band’s 20th anniversary; and the departure of long-time band member Levy Seynaeve. At the SMAK Museum Of Contemporary Art in Ghent’s 19th-century, monument-strewn Citadelpark in May 2019, they offered a communal recognition of loss and letting go. Here, audience members were invited to make their own offerings, placing personal notes of acknowledgment in wooden structures created by Indonesian artist Toni Kanwa Adikusumah, before they were brought out into the park and set alight as an act of recognition and release – a forging of hope from the flames.
Written for the purpose of that rite, De Doorn (‘The Thorn’) occupies a place between Amenra’s recorded and live work, less a testimony to the band’s individual bereavements, more an invitation for others to come forward, and to pass through darkness into light. Where the Mass albums have taken the form of solitary struggles whose fearless honesty has aligned itself to the most intrinsically human of chords, the dynamics of De Doorn are as stricken by destiny as ever, but sonically looser. Guided to a lesser extent by the band’s characteristically immense, behind-the-beat traction, it’s more lush, immersive, steeped in sonorous, cathedral-echo ambiences amplified to the point of static-infected instability and carrying passages of deeply intimate spoken-word that feel like being drawn in to the most hallowed of confidences. Its themes of dialogue and the passing of knowledge are echoed in the combined vocals of Colin and Oathbreaker’s Caro Tanghe. Her spectral presence on the opening Ogentroost acts as both counterpoint and complement to Colin’s stricken howl as the song cycles between enervation and helplessly compelled momentum. Their whispered devotions in the following, vast, hallowed atmospheres of De Dood In Bloei leave you feeling as though you’re bearing witness to the most private of conversations.
The thorn is the most potent of symbols – in religious terms, a reclamation and an agony as a mark of transformation. It’s the nagging reminder of vulnerability and it’s the violent protector, without which beauty cannot thrive. For the cover of De Doorn, it’s been cast in bronze – a thing of value and a memorial, each band member given their own piece to symbolise their own pain and their belonging to the greater whole. In bronze, it is both nature and something else – a mark of singularity and a portal to a continuity that we all share. As Amenra have acknowledged once more, it’s one that hears our call, even when we feel we are at our most alone.

TRAGEDY - NYC Tribute Heroes To Release Metal-Meets-Disco Favorites Collection, Disco Balls To The Wall, In July; "You're The One That I Want" Video StreamingPrepare your air guitars and get the party started with the hottest metal tribute to The Bee Gees and beyond: Tragedy. The New York-based cover song reinventors are set to release a “best of” collection chock full of remastered favorites, Disco Balls To The Wall, on July 30 via Napalm Records.
It doesn’t matter at all if you love or hate disco or metal - you will unabashedly love Tragedy and their bombastic, crazy mix of disco, metal, glitter and revelry, highly enjoyable on their incomparable powerhouse version of “You’re the One That I Want”, out today. Tragedy already broke the internet back in 2015 with the viral video for their energetic take on the Grease soundtrack classic, but now it’s time to mosh on the dancefloor again to a new, remastered version of the song.
Tragedy say about “You’re the One That I Want”: “We found the inner-METAL spirit of Grease...and it runs deep. 1950's greasers, 1970's Travolta, 1980's metal and 1990's grunge, all come together in a new-millennium melting pot - creating a kick-ass high school for adults portraying teens. You better shape up!”
Watch the video for “You’re the One That I Want” below.
The band’s first offering with Napalm Records will include Tragedy’s unique twist on hits such as Abba’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” and “Dancing Queen”, Toto’s “Africa”, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” and Adele’s intense super-hymn ''Skyfall”, just to name a few. These fearsome brothers drop the perfect selection of all-time favorite disco, soft-rock and pop favorites - completely reimagining them as glorious, red-hot heavy metal treatments.
Tragedy add: "Disco Balls To The Wall is the biggest, sexiest, collection of hits we've ever released. It’s as if the Bee Gees turned into werewolves, ate some teens, then bred with the local dog population; thus creating the world's most beastly recordings of disco and soft-rock songs ever made. Sharing this album with your friends and lovers will make you 500% more desirable.”
Get your body shaking when Tragedy start to rock out with The Bee Gee’s “Stayin' Alive”, “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Tragedy”, and headbang to the tunes of Slayer’s heavy riffing thrash thunder “Raining Blood” combined with “It’s Raining Men” from American duo The Weather Girls in a way absolutely never heard before. Disco Balls To The Wall is finally topped by a smashing live version of Donna Summer’s fabulous “Hot Stuff”, featuring Alex Skolnick of Testament on lead guitar. What a ride! But the party won’t stop as long as there’s a repeat button to push heavily!
The concept, while subversive and humorous, goes well beyond what others have done in satirical music - Tragedy celebrates the soul of the original song, even while turning the soundscape on its head. The amps are cranked to eleven, but the emotion is not lost. You’ll discover new meaning in songs that have been a part of your life as long as you can remember. You’ll laugh and cry, dance and mosh, and feel newly connected to the disco-metal that was inside you all along.
Disco Balls To The Wall will be available in the following formats:
- 2-LP Gatefold (Orange transparent) - strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide
- 1-CD Digipack
- Digital Album

DUSTIN DOUGLAS & THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN - Blues Rock Power Trio Releases "Broken" Single And Music VideoWilkes-Barre Pennsylvania’s blues-rock power trio, Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen, have released its new single, “Broken”, worldwide on all digital platforms. Recorded at 8 Days a Week Studios in Northumberland, PA by revered engineer/ producer and former Badlees/Cellarbirds bassist, Paul Smith, the tune (the group’s first new music since 2018’s full length album, Break It Down) proves once and for all that the blues-rock genre is most definitely, alive and well.
Accompanying the song is DDEG’s video for “Broken”. The video is directed by award winning director, Jonathan Edwards and was shot in the band’s hometown in the historical Irem Temple Theatre. Currently a restoration project, the theatre was Wilkes-Barre’s primary performing arts venue in the early 1900’s and known for its Moorish Revival Architecture, towering minarets and stained-glass dome. “The fact this beautiful, ‘Broken’ theatre exists right in our backyard is amazing,” says Douglas. “There was no doubt this was the perfect location for this new video.”
“Broken” has all the classic Dustin Douglas and The Electric Gentlemen elements - sexy grooves, infectious rhythm, and Douglas’ soaring guitar work and unmistakable vocal. “‘Broken’ is a very good sonic explanation of who we are as a band,” says Douglas. “Classic rock with a modern twist. We do our best to carry the torch of our power trio forefathers. The spirit of “The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Cream, and Mountain runs deep in my veins.”
“Broken” has blasted Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen’s already soaring trajectory into a whole new level of success.

AMORPHIS Guitarist's SILVER LAKE BY ESA HOLOPAINEN Project Release New Album Trailer: Guest Musicians (Video)Amorphis guitarist Esa Holopainen's Silver Lake By Esa Holopainen project will release it its self-titled debut album on May 28 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band reveals a new trailer, talking about the guest musicians. Watch below:
Since 1990, Esa Holopainen has been the lead guitarist of the progressively-minded heavy metal innovators Amorphis. Thanks to the metallic and melodic beauty of such classic albums as Tales From The Thousand Lakes, Elegy and Skyforger, Holopainen's magnificent abilities to create enchanting atmospheres and innovative riffs have become widely known within the worldwide heavy metal circuit - and when the COVID pandemic forced Esa to cancel all plans for 2020, the renowned Finnish guitarist knew that the time had come to finally record a couple of songs he had kept in his drawer for several years.
"Over the last few years, I have been writing a lot of music, and some of the stuff hasn't exactly sounded like Amorphis. When Nino [Laurenne, owner of Sonic Pump Studios] called me late March, I already had three decent-sounding Silver Lake songs in stock. These tracks, entitled 'Sentiment', 'Ray of Light' and 'Promising Sun', worked as the backbone for the full solo album."
Although the making of the record had already started, some important decisions were still under discussion and Esa soon decided that he would need to invite some friends over to sing on his upcoming record. "At first, I really didn't know if the album would turn out to be purely instrumental or would there be vocalists as well. However, one thing was certain, I wouldn't be the singer of Silver Lake", Holopainen laughs. "Many times, when people think about a guitarist's solo album, they get the impression of technical stuff with a huge amounts of notes played extremely fast. Well, I‘m not a big fan of that kind of music. Whenever I write, I always want to pile up interesting songs, and not just shred for the sake of it."
With diverse styles ranging from 80's Dire Straits vibes to some heavy, melancholic and even poppy tracks, these 9 fresh creations obviously needed some strong vocal performances. Therefore Esa started to ask several friends and favorite singers of his that joined him from their home studios on these 9 new tracks to be featured on Silver Lake By Esa Holopainen.
With moody cover artwork created by Metastazis, the album that was recorded at Sonic Pump, produced and mixed by Nino Laurenne & Esa Holopainen, and mastered by Svante Forsbäck will be available on May 28. Pre-order here.
Tracklisting:
"Silver Lake" (instrumental)
"Sentiment" (feat. Jonas Renkse of Katatonia)
"Storm" (feat. Håkan Hemlin of Nordman)
"Ray Of Light" (feat. Einar Solberg of Leprous)
"Alkusointu" (feat. Vesa-Matti Loiri)
"In Her Solitude" (feat Tomi Joutsen of Amorphis)
"Promising Sun" (feat. Björn 'Speed' Strid of Soilwork / The Night Flight Orchestra)

MOONSPELL Announce Limited Edition Reissues Of Monumental Albums Extinct, 1755Due to high demand, Portuguese dark metal masters Moonspell (who just released their new album Hermitage via Napalm Records), have announced the official reissuing of their monumental record Extinct (2015), and its successor, 1755 (2017). Both masterpieces will be re-released on vinyl on July 2 via Napalm, but order yours soon - each will be limited to just 100 copies available worldwide.
With Extinct, the band’s 11th studio album, Moonspell set the world aflame. The worldwide chart topping album - which landed at #1 in Portugal for several weeks - represents the band at their most experimental and impassioned, and is one of their most successful records to date. Its enthralling mix of darkness and beauty, modern riffing, Fernando Ribeiro's somber vocals and blackened melodies showcase Moonspell’s grandeur in perfection - always one step ahead of the rest, always resisting all genre boundaries!
Two years later in 2017, Moonspell outclassed all standards with the colossal 1755. From the first weighty second, the conceptual dramaturgy of this record feels like a detonation of the mind. Playful and spirited, 1755 is an incomparable masterpiece. Telling the story of the year of horror, when a giant earthquake wrecked their home of Lisbon, naturally this album is performed completely in Portuguese. 1755 is an orchestral adventure including strings, bongos, epic choirs and vibrant grooves, and the grand guitars are just a tiny part of this amazing piece of work. The album also features Paulo Bragança, supplying his haunting voice to a Fado fallen angel who plays an important role in Portuguese culture. 1755 is an adventure of Portuguese medieval landscapes full of stunning highlights guarded by stirring hymns; emotional, technical and completely breathtaking.
"What I am most proud of in regards to all Moonspell records, is that nobody forgets about them,” says frontman Fernando Ribeiro. "Extinct and 1755 might have been sold out/out of print on LP for a few years, but they’re back on the market by popular demand, amazingly edited, and ready to be rediscovered and added to any proudly die-hard Moonspell fan collection. More to come, stay tuned under the spell!"
Pre-order Extinct and 1755 here.

HELLOWEEN Gearing Up To Release New Single "Fear Of The Fallen"German metal legends Helloween have checked in with the following update:
"Here come the fear of the fallen, we rise when you’re calling, a light in the night. Our new digital single 'Fear Of The Fallen' lands May 21st, 2021. Make sure to pre-save it for your playlist here."
Helloween launched the official video for the single "Skyfall" back in April. The band remarked: The single has landed! The first track off our new album Helloween is now available for streaming and in various CD and vinyl formats! Go check it out! We’re so excited to hear your reactions! Written by Kai Hansen, 'Skyfall' is a storming more than 7 minute ride into the Helloween universe (and beyond!) The epic track describes an alien landing on earth and a dramatic chase while Michael Kiske, Andi Deris and Kai Hansen duel each other in a breathtaking manner and create a vocal broadband adventure. Produced by Martin Häusler, it is the most elaborate video clip in the history of the band."
The German power metal legends have launched the pre-order for the new record. Head here to order in your format of choice.
Forget Helloween - Here comes Helloween. This is the beginning of a new time calculation: Please stick together!
This was the ardent wish of thousands of fans calling out to Andi Deris, Michael Kiske, Michael Weikath, Kai Hansen, Markus Grosskopf, Sascha Gerstner and Dani Löble during the Pumpkins United World Tour - and their dream has come true! With the upcoming album, simply titled Helloween, the band opens a new chapter after 35 years of a glorious career. The future of one of the most influential German metal bands from now on will feature three singers. Originally planned for the live performances only, it was the birth of a unique seven-piece metal alliance.
Dani Löble comments, "This record is the coronation of the Pumpkins United journey! Still, until today I am fascinated by the different character traits and facets of the Helloween history. Per example the legendary voices of Michi, Andi and Kai. To enjoy them now together on one record, under one flag is the ultimate Helloween experience."
It is therefore not surprising that the pre-release single "Skyfall" (out on April 2), a 12-minute epos written by Kai Hansen, has the long yearned 'Keeper-vibe' - even if the long player can by no means be limited to it. "Skyfall" implies the musical arch which will be loved by fans of every era. This first album of a new age is taking the fans from unforgettable memories of the fifteen studio records and four live CD’s to new adventures.
"Skyfall" begins with a bang. The epic track describes an alien landing on earth and a dramatic chase while Kiske, Deris and Hansen duel with each other in a breathtaking manner and create a vocal broadband adventure. Produced by Martin Häusler, it is the most elaborate video clip in the history of the band; shown with 3-D animation and having a cinematic look, this video is a real high end experience.
The base of this milestone album was already erected in the studio: using the original drum kit of Ingo Schwichtenberg, the recording was done with the same modulators at the Hamburg HOME studios where back then Master Of The Rings, The Time Of The Oath and Better Than Raw were recorded. Completely analog and under the eyes of long term producer Charlie Bauerfeind and co-producer Dennis Ward, the United impact travelled to New York and got the final mix in the Valhalla Studios of Ronald Prent (Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Rammstein).
"After 30 years with the different line ups of the band I really thought I was well prepared for another extreme challenge, but I was wrong! My expectations were highly exceeded in every way with this super-sized creativity package,” comments Bauerfeind.
Besides all musical competence, it is also the special enthusiasm that defines Helloween. Michael Weikath characterizes in his own way: "It is the incomprehensible encounter of seven musicians who are working as friends and even family and created something that no one would have thought it could be possible. It is like awaking from a sleep but still being in an incredible dream."
Returnee Kai Hansen reflects: "Being in the studio with my old companions after 30 years was very emotional for me. But at the same time it was a completely different experience with the 'new' boys. The collaboration of different songwriters and strong characters made the album very special: a unique mix with reminiscences from all chapters of the band’s history. Helloween is a big part of my life and I am looking forward to celebrating the songs live for and with our fans“! From another perspective Markus Grosskopf agrees: "For me, being one of the last ‘survivors‘ who played every note from the beginning, it was a fantastic experience and a very emotional process. I think everyone can hear it on this album. I love it."
With all this brand new material an album has been created, an album that is set apart from the digital mainstream and showing the essence of the band was never more solid. This is the beginning of something big – here comes Helloween.

HammerFall will join Helloween on their postponed European tour in 2022. Swedish and German Steel unites to the United Forces Tour 2022!
We all have to stick together to stand and endure this agonizing live music gap and because extraordinary circumstances require extraordinary measures, Helloween invited their friends from HammerFall to join them on their European tour in order to create a tremendous metal-package together. Both bands will have brand-new albums in their luggage and the European fans will be able to listen to the new songs live for the very first time on the United Forces Tour 2022. The long awaited end of the dry spell is in sight - coming with a double dose in March, April and May 2022 as we have to catch up two years of metal party to get cured from a lot of withdrawal symptoms.
HammerFall singer Joacim Cans: “Helloween is probably the band that influenced me the most growing up and I am extremely psyched about touring together with the guys. For the true metal fan, United Forces 2022 will be the ultimate metal experience. An experience that no one should miss for anything in the world. If there is one tour to experience in 2022, this is the one! Next year the Hammer will fall harder than ever before and every day will be Helloween!”
Helloween’s Andi Deris: “We are `hammered´ to have our friends from HammerFall with us on tour! Back in 2002 the band produced their album “Crimson Thunder” in my studio in Tenerife and we had a lot of fun back then. This mega package is delivering the appropriate metal-spectacle to enter the stage with full power!”
HammerFall’s Oscar Dronjak can hardly wait: "We are so ridiculously excited about this! Not only do we get to go out on tour again after two looooooooong years of stage draught, but we get to do it with a band that we love and was a great inspiration to us in forming HammerFall in the first place. The United Forces Tour will be something truly special, you can count on that!“
For the dry run up front, Helloween is releasing their fantastic new album and with the unification of their three vocalists Kiske, Deris & Hansen the album reminiscences to all eras of the band’s history. This already is a sensation in itself, but also HammerFall is ready to release a brand-new record before the tour starts. A great forerunner to get warmed up for the double load of live power with the ultimate United Forces Tour 2022. And whoever misses the just announced dates was probably never infected by the metal virus.

Tech-Instrumentalists CANVAS SOLARIS Stream New Song "Hidden Sector"Following the release of their fifth album, Irradiance, progressive metal songsmiths Canvas Solaris quietly disbanded in 2010. The quartet regrouped in 2014 and began forming compositions that would eventually make up album #6, but various personal roadblocks stalled momentum for more than a year. Activities finally resumed in 2016, and the band completed writing six songs/50 minutes of new material: Chromosphere.
However, due to a combination of logistics, personal obligations, and time constraints, the group took its time to record and mix the tracks at various studios over the course of the three years that followed. Drums were laid down with Jamie King Audio in April of 2017, while guitars and bass were tracked at Chris Rushing's and Gael Pirlot's home studios throughout 2018 and 2019. Additional percussion and acoustic guitars were recorded with the help of friend Justin Prevatt in 2019, and programming/synthesizers were largely completed at guitarist Nathan Sapp's house. Canvas Solaris then returned to the patient and generous Jamie King Audio in the summer of 2019 to commence the mixing process.
Speaking to Chromosphere's direction, drummer Hunter Ginn states, "When we started down the path of making a new album, Nathan and I knew that we wanted to apply more focus to the songwriting, so we turned to inspiration from late-'80s/early-'90s progressive and technical thrash bands like Toxik, Realm, Watchtower, Mekong Delta, Target, Coroner, Deathrow, Anacrusis, Believer, Obliveon, and Sadus to provide us with a deep reservoir of ideas. Chromosphere doesn't exactly come across as sounding like those bands, but I would like to think that at least Canvas Solaris shares with them some DNA."
As the group's four-album run with the highly respected and prog-minded Sensory record label had come to an amicable conclusion, Canvas Solaris entertained the idea of self-releasing Chromosphere, but ultimately decided otherwise. It was at that point that the band full-circled back to where it all began—as Divebomb's parent label, Tribunal Records, handled the group's initial releases in the early-2000s. Ginn reflects, "In the years between our debut full-length, Sublimation, and Chromosphere, Tribunal had launched Divebomb Records, and it only gilded the lily that Divebomb had reissued some of our favorite albums. It really does feel like a homecoming for us. Tribunal Records founder Matt Rudzinski was one of our very earliest supporters, and believed in our music when hardly anyone else did. We're very grateful for the opportunity to work with him again."
With Chromosphere, Canvas Solaris has very much succeeded in delivering intricate, high-level progressive metal boasting a finely crafted approach to songwriting that emphasizes movement and atmosphere over endless displays of technical musicianship. Hunter closes with, "I don't think this is the record that anyone expected us to make. After a 10-year absence, most listeners probably would have bet on a mellower, more cosmic Canvas Solaris album. While Chromosphere has no shortage of cosmic moments, we have never made a more aggressive, determined-sounding album..."
Chromosphere will be released on May 14 via Divebomb Records.

ONE DESIRE Releases "Hurt" Video From Upcoming One Night Only - Live In HelsinkiFrontiers Music Srl will release the first ever live album and video from Finland's One Desire, One Night Only - Live In Helsinki, on June 11. Check out a live video for "Hurt" from the upcoming release below. Pre-order CD/DVD, Blu-ray, and LP versions of the album and pre-save the digital version here.
Back in March 2020, One Desire had hit the road with The Night Flight Orchestra in Europe in support of their then forthcoming second album, Midnight Empire. Of course, anyone who sees 'March 2020' knows that the coronavirus pandemic was strengthening its grip on the globe at that moment in time. The tour was cut short and venues around the globe were being shut down. Unfortunately, upon getting home, the guys realized they had all caught COVID-19, but luckily, after some time, the guys all recovered.
While the Midnight Empire release in May 2020 was as successful as it could be given the complicated circumstances surrounding the album release at that moment in time due to the various territorial lockdowns in Europe, One Desire still had a yearning to show fans how these new songs sounded live. As they, and the rest of the world, adjusted to a new reality in terms of live performances, the idea of a special one-of-a-kind live product came to pass and a live recording was captured on October 3, 2020 in Helsinki, Finland at the On The Rocks Club. With just a minimal audience, as required for live events these days, the band kicked out a selection of their most beloved and acclaimed songs. One Night Only - Live In Helsinki also comes with a bunch of interesting bonus content.

BLACK SABBATH's Touring Drummer TOMMY CLUFETOS Says Element Of 'Danger' Is Missing From New Rock BandsIn a new interview with Heavy New York, drummer Tommy Clufetos (BLACK SABBATH, OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE, TED NUGENT, ALICE COOPER) was asked if there are any bands that are part of the so-called "retro rock revival" that exploded in the past decade or so that he particularly enjoys listening to. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I've heard some of these bands, [and] I hear a retro thing, but it doesn't have the same feel as that old music to me. I think bands rocked harder back in the day. It's missing the sweat factor to me. I mean, nothing beats those early guys. When you watch Little Richard, and he's pounding; there's just a different passion that those guys had. And I think in the '70s, guys carried that energy and there was this competition and this fight between bands and competition that went on. Now everything is a little nice. Maybe that's what it is — everything is so nice and friendly. I like a little danger. There's not too much danger in these new bands. I think that's what I'm missing — it's not dangerous. Good rock and roll is supposed to be a dangerous thing.
"When I go up there, I wanna kick everybody's ass," he continued. "I'm not out to be friends with them… When I came up and played in clubs, and there was another band, I was gonna kick their ass. When I got on a stage with other drummers, even if I was in the opening band and there was a headlining act, I wanted to kick that drummer's ass. Which is not a bad thing. That's not lack of respect. It's, 'Look out. Here I come.' And I play that way. And I've played with younger guys; they don't play that way. Old guys play that way."
Clufetos's new band TOMMY'S ROCKTRIP, where he offers his take on the rock 'n roll influences that made him one of the most sought-after drummers in the current hard rock scene, will release its debut album, "Beat Up By Rock 'N' Roll", on May 7 via Frontiers Music Srl. Eric Dover, known for singing and playing guitar with JELLYFISH, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and Alice Cooper, handles lead vocals on the LP (though Tommy grabs the mic for three tracks). Eliot Lorengo (bass), Hank Schneekluth (guitar) and Nao Nakashima (guitar) round out the supporting cast.
Clufetos worked with such rock icons as Nugent, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie before joining Ozzy Osbourne in 2010. That led to a spot as the drummer on BLACK SABBATH's last two world tours.

STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET: 'I Owe Everything To God'Michael Sweet of openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER was recently interviewed by Brazil's Rock Mania. You can now listen to the chat below.
Asked how important God is in his life, Sweet said: "He's everything to me. I'm not one of those guys that reads my Bible every day, is quoting scriptures every hour or going to church four times a week. That's not what God is about to me. But yet at the same time, God is everything to me, because I feel that I owe everything to God. I feel that he's given me my life, I feel that he's given me my talent and my abilities, and I wanna give back to him because of that."
Sweet also outlined his writing and recording plans for the coming months. He said: "I just finished a new inspirational album. It's very different for me, musically speaking. It's not a metal album. But it's got some of the best songs that I've ever been a part of, that I've ever written. And I can't wait for everyone to hear it. I just finished that. We're mixing it now. I just turned in the album with Joel Hoekstra and Nathan James and Tommy Aldridge and Marco Mendoza. So that's wrapped up. That's gonna have a very WHITESNAKE sound to it — a really great album. I start on a new album with Frontiers, with [in-house producer] Alessandro [Del Vecchio]. I'm hoping that we'll take it in an old JOURNEY direction, musically. And then I start on a new Michael Sweet solo metal album this year. And I start, at the end of the year, on a new SWEET & LYNCH album [with George Lynch]. And then, and we already signed an agreement, and it's on the calendar, we start on a new STRYPER album in January. And then in June — this June — we're gonna record two more live STRYPER shows at SpiritHouse studios [in Northampton, Massachusetts]. They're going to be 'Soldiers Under Command' and 'No More Hell To Pay' in their entirety, from start to finish."
Formed 38 years ago, STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
In a 2018 interview with the Detroit Free Press, Michael said that STRYPER was never fully embraced by the heavy metal and hard rock communities, largely because of the band's Christian lyrics.
"We've never been accepted by either side," he said. "The secular side, the mainstream, they've never accepted us to this day. We're probably that band that everyone's going to go to whenever there's a time to mock. We'll be the band used for that in most cases. Now on the Christian side, we've never really had the full support of the Christian side because we don't fit into their little club. We're not wearing suits and ties and going to every church and preaching."
STRYPER's albums include "To Hell With The Devil", "Second Coming", the aforementioned "No More Hell To Pay", "Fallen" and the band's latest effort, "Even The Devil Believes".
Michael is joined in STRYPER by his brother Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitars) and Perry Richardson (bass).

Ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE Guitarist PAT O'BRIEN Sentenced In Connection With 2018 Assault, BurglaryFormer CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Pat O'Brien has been sentenced in connection with his 2018 arrest for burglary and assaulting a police officer while his Florida home was in flames.
On March 16, O'Brien was sentenced to time served and five years of probation and ordered to pay $23,793.45 in restitution. He was also ordered to get drug and alcohol evaluations and render 150 hours of community service. In addition, O'Brien was ordered to abstain from using alcohol and controlled substances and to be subject to random testing.
At the time of O'Brien's arrest, deputies said he burglarized a house and charged at a deputy with a knife.
O'Brien, who was born in Northern Kentucky, allegedly broke into a Northdale, Florida home and shouted that "the rapture is coming" before pushing a woman to the ground. He ran toward a responding deputy with a knife and was subdued with a stun gun.
Less than half a mile from where O'Brien was arrested, a fire broke out at the house he was renting, sending flames billowing into the night sky from the roof.
The owner of the home where O'Brien was arrested wouldn't go on camera but told ABC Action News he thought the guitarist was hallucinating when he spoke to him and claimed "someone was after him." The homeowner added O'Brien seemed scared and at one point even hid in his closet.
Fire marshals found a large cache of weapon, locked safes and potential explosive devices inside O'Brien's home, including 50 shotguns, 20 semiautomatic rifles, two Uzi-style firearms, 20 handguns and two flamethrowers. Authorities also discovered thousands of rounds as well as additional weapons.
O'Brien, who had been a member of CANNIBAL CORPSE for more than two decades, was released from Hillsborough County jail on December 14, 2018 after posting a $50,000 surety bond. Several days earlier, at a hearing, a judge told the now-55-year-old musician, clad in an anti-suicide vest with his hands and ankles chained together, that he would first have to pass a drug test before he would be allowed to post bail and leave jail.
During an appearance on a June 2019 episode of "The Jasta Show", the podcast hosted by HATEBREED's Jamey Jasta, CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher expressed his shock over O'Brien's arrest, saying: "I don't wanna speculate about what could have happened that night, but it could have been way worse — for him.
"When people were seeing [TV reports about] it — I think on the Tampa news, they were pretty good with him," he continued. "They just said he was one of the best guitar players in death metal in America, and in the world, and he's highly respected. And they didn't really trash him at all. And they showed him on TV."
Fisher went on to say that most of the CANNIBAL fans were very supportive of Pat while he was dealing with his ordeal. "In the metal world, I think in general, 95 percent [of the people], everyone was, like, 'Get well soon,'" he told "The Jasta Show". "I didn't spend too much time reading stuff online, because that's when you get people who just wanna say nasty stuff just to be nasty."
At the time, Fisher said that he and his bandmates were looking forward to O'Brien's return to CANNIBAL CORPSE. "We love him," he told "The Jasta Show". "We want him back. But when I saw him in the court with the vest, dude, I cried. Because we just got home from tour… We wish the best for him, and we're just waiting to see [what happens]. He's got a road ahead of him still with legal issues, and that's out of our hands. We support him 100 percent; we're behind him 100 percent."
Earlier this year, it was announced that O'Brien had been replaced in CANNIBAL CORPSE by Erik Rutan, one of the death metal's most acclaimed guitarists who is known for his time as part of MORBID ANGEL throughout the '90s and early 2000s, as well as handling vocals/guitars for HATE ETERNAL.
CANNIBAL CORPSE released its 15th studio album, "Violence Unimagined", on April 16 via Metal Blade Records.

NIRVANA Sued For Using Illustration From Translation Of Dante's 'Inferno' On Band MerchandiseNIRVANA has been sued by the heir of a British artist who drew a map of hell for a translation of Dante's "Inferno", alleging the iconic rock band ripped off the image and used it on its merchandise. "Inferno" is the first part of Italian writer Dante Alighieri's 14th-century epic poem "Divine Comedy".
Jocelyn Susan Bundy on Wednesday (April 28) sued Nirvana LLC, Live Nation Merchandise LLC and its Merch Traffic LLC unit, along with Silva Artist Management LLC, saying NIRVANA had been using her grandfather C.W. Scott-Giles drawing since 1997 on shirts, mugs, vinyl records, and other merchandise sold at stores including Walmart, H&M and Hot Topic. The drawing depicts Dante's circles of Upper Hell.
The complaint states: "On or about January 20, 2021, Plaintiff discovered that Defendants NIRVANA and Live Nation Merchandise are (and have been) licensing, promoting, selling, manufacturing, and distributing vinyl records, t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, key fobs, mugs, patches, buttons, and other merchandise items depicting an image virtually identical to the Illustration both in the U.S. and abroad.
"On or about March 11, 2021, Plaintiff discovered that, sometime after
February 13, 2021, Defendant Merch Traffic also started promoting, licensing, selling, and distributing Infringing Products in the U.S. and abroad."
The complaint adds: "Further research revealed that some of the unauthorized uses of the Illustration on NIRVANA-branded merchandise date as far back as 1989. Further research also revealed that over the years, the band NIRVANA and parties acting on its behalf have routinely made false claims of ownership of the copyright in the Illustration by placing false copyright notices on the Infringing Products in substantially this form '© [Year] Nirvana'.
"Finally, in documents filed in two other copyright actions before this Court, Defendant NIRVANA has implied that Kurt Cobain created the Illustration or, in the alternative, that the Illustration is in the public domain in the United States, and that, therefore, NIRVANA and its licensees are free to use it without authorization or compensation. NIRVANA and some of the other Defendants have maintained this position in their responses to Plaintiff’s continuing requests to cease their wrongful conduct in the U.S. and abroad."
This is not the only copyright-infringement battle NIRVANA is currently involved in. For the past three years, NIRVANA has been embroiled in a long-running legal clash against fashion company Marc Jacobs over its "happy face" t-shirt designs. NIRVANA's dispute with Marc Jacobs centers on a design featuring a squiggly yellow smiley face, which is very similar to the trademark owned by the band since 1992. The Marc Jacobs version features an M and a J instead of Xs for its eyes (as in the NIRVANA version), and it reads "HEAVEN" instead of "NIRVANA" in a typeface similar to the band's font.

Baphomet - New Satanic Horror Film Starring DANI FILTH Coming To Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital In June; Soundtrack Available In MayCleopatra Entertainment will release the Satanic horror film, Baphomet, starring Dani Filth, the lead singer of Cradle Of Filth, on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on June 8.
Filth said, "I really liked the idea of it. The script was good. It seemed genuinely interesting, esoteric. The premise is great, and I quite liked the idea of the character I was playing... haggard and highly intelligent. It’s kind of apt, you know. I wouldn’t say it’s tongue-in-cheek, I wouldn’t even say it’s role reversal, but it’s similar in the way that Ozzy played a priest in Trick Or Treat. It’s playing with the genre, mixing it up a little bit, and I think it’s cool, yeah. I think that I’m cut out for the role of an occult investigator, occult philosopher, etc. I could see myself actually doing that role in real life."
This also isn't Filth's first film, as he previously starred in the 2001 horror anthology film Cradle Of Fear.
Baphomet is written-directed by Matthan Harris, and also stars Colin Ward (Mank, Criminal Minds), Giovanni Lombardo Radice (The Omen, City of the Living Dead, Cannibal Ferox), and Nick Principe (Laid to Rest, Chromeskull).
The film tells the tale of an American family (the Richardsons) celebrating their daughter's pregnancy, but things begin to go awry when Satanic cult leader, Henrik Brandr unexpectedly visits their ranch. Henrik offers to pay the family a large sum for ownership of their land, claiming it is sacred to his congregation. Jacob Richardson, the father, rejects the offer due to the sentimental value of his ranch. Henrik, displeased, begins to put curses on the Richardsons, trying to force them off of their own land - even if it means murdering them. After suffering unexplainable tragedies created by the curses, the Richardsons seek help from Marybeth, a white witch high priestess. They soon discover a terrible secret about their house, revealing why their land is so scared to the cult. They realize that they must protect their house from the cult at all costs, and a violent battle between good and evil ensues.

ENDSEEKER Release "Moribund" Drum Playthrough VideoEndseeker recently released their new album, Mount Carcass, via Metal Blade Records. A drum playthrough video for the track "Moribund" can be seen below:
Having become one of the premier German death metal bands - and rapidly rising the ranks of the genre as a whole - Endseeker storm back into the fray with Mount Carcass. Building on the groundwork laid down on 2017's Flesh Hammer Prophecy and having the difficult task of besting 2019's stunning The Harvest, they have returned with a streamlined, powerful collection that further raises the bar.
Like both of its predecessors, Mount Carcass was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, Germany. Going into the record, Endseeker knew they wanted something rawer and more organic than The Harvest, and while COVID was causing global havoc, the band embraced the time they would have otherwise spent touring, using it to rehearse and discuss what they wanted the record to be. From this process they knew they wanted the songs to be quite straightforward and even have something of a "punkish / crust feel, so to speak. The songs are pretty reduced to the core with all the ballast removed. Every part and every riff has a meaning and isn't just there for no other reason than extending the song. The album is also very melodic. There are a bunch of very strong guitar hooks and vocal compositions that really stick in your ears for days. It's way simpler and probably more easy to listen to compared to 'The Harvest' or 'Flesh Hammer Prophecy', but at the same time, it has a very spontaneous and lively attitude with a big chunk of personality."
To keep the genre sounding fresh in 2021, they focused on the production, having just a touch of the old school vibe to remain rooted, and they did not limit themselves too hard to the Swedish death metal style of songwriting they previously embraced, but also let other influences into their songs.
"You can hear all kinds of stuff that is inspired by bands like Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower, Slayer, Dissection, Gorefest, etc. We listen to so many different bands, and somehow, a bit from all of this keeps adding to our music."
Mount Carcass can be ordered here.

"Unholy Rites"
"Merciless Tide"

MOUNTAIN Drum Legend CORKY LAING – Toledo Sessions And POMPEII Albums Receive Vinyl RepressingLegendary Mountain drummer Corky Laing has resurrected that iconic sound that put him, his fellow bandmates on the music charts, on the radio and in stadiums across the world just a bit over 50 years ago.
It seems that the spirits of the late Felix Pappalardi (Mountain) and Jack Bruce (West, Bruce & Laing/Cream) may have been present when Corky started writing and recording this classic record in a small studio in the heart of the Rock and Roll Rustbelt, Toledo, Ohio.
At first listen you will hear and feel an overwhelming sense of time travel back to the days of hard rock and heavy metal’s infancy, while staying within today’s modern era. From the time you drop the needle onto the vinyl, until you pull it off. You will be reminded of who was one of the pioneers and innovators of some of the greatest hard rock to ever grace the planet Earth.
Corky Laing has announced the new release of Corky Laing’s Mountain and the continued pressing of Corky Laing’s Pompeii (featuring Eric Clapton, Leslie West, Dickie Betts, John Sebastian, Mick Ronson, Ian Hunter and more), both pressed on limited edition vinyl. Purchase at the Prudential Music Group.

GRAMMY AWARDS Eliminate 'Secret Committees', Announce Major Voting ChangesThe Recording Academy announced on Friday (April 30) that it has made significant changes to its Awards process that reflect its ongoing commitment to evolve with the musical landscape and to ensure that the Grammy Awards rules and guidelines are transparent and equitable. Among the changes are the elimination of Nominations Review Committees, a reduction in the number of categories in which voters may vote, two Grammy Award category additions, and more. These updates are a result of extensive discussions and collaboration over the course of the last year amongst a special subcommittee of Recording Academy members and elected leaders, and were voted on by the Academy's Board of Trustees. These changes go into effect immediately for the 64th annual Grammy Awards taking place January 31, 2022. The eligibility period for the 64th annual Grammy Awards is September 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021.
Additional rule amendment proposals will be discussed and voted on at an upcoming Recording Academy meeting and the full rulebook for the 64th annual Grammy Awards will be released in May.
"It's been a year of unprecedented, transformational change for the Recording Academy, and I'm immensely proud to be able to continue our journey of growth with these latest updates to our Awards process," said Harvey Mason Jr., chair and interim president/CEO of the Recording Academy. "This is a new Academy, one that is driven to action and that has doubled down on the commitment to meeting the needs of the music community. While change and progress are key drivers of our actions, one thing will always remain — the Grammy Award is the only peer-driven and peer-voted recognition in music. We are honored to work alongside the music community year-round to further refine and protect the integrity of the Awards process."
Approved rule amendments include:
Voting Process Changes
Elimination Of Nominations Review Committees In General And Genre Fields
Nominations in all of the Grammy Award general and genre fields will now be determined by a majority, peer-to-peer vote of voting members of the Recording Academy. Previously, many of the categories within these fields utilized 15-30 highly skilled music peers who represented and voted within their genre communities for the final selection of nominees. With this change, the results of Grammy nominations and winners are placed back in the hands of the entire voting membership body, giving further validation to the peer-recognized process. To further support this amendment, the Academy has confirmed that more than 90 percent of its members will have gone through the requalification process by the end of this year, ensuring that the voting body is actively engaged in music creation. Craft committees remain in place (see below for craft category realignment.)
Reduction In Number Of Categories Voter May Vote
To ensure music creators are voting in the categories in which they are most knowledgeable and qualified, the number of specific genre field categories in which Grammy Award voters may vote has been reduced from 15 to 10. Additionally, those 10 categories must be within no more than three fields. All voters are permitted to vote in the four General Field categories (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist). Proposed by a special voting Task Force who brought forth the recommendation, this change serves as an additional safeguard against bloc voting and helps to uphold the Grammy Award as a celebration of excellence in music, with specific genre field categories being voted on by the most qualified peers.
Craft Category Realignment
To better reflect the overlapping peer groups within the voter membership body, six existing craft fields will be consolidated into two fields: Presentation Field and Production Field. In either newly consolidated field, voters would have the ability to choose how many categories they feel qualified to vote in, respecting category vote limits, without being excessively limited by the three-field restriction. This benefits the integrity of these Awards by embracing and utilizing the specializations of the voters, without restricting their choice or contributions due to the field limits imposed by the recent reduction of the number of categories voters may vote in. Field updates are as follows:
* Package Field, Notes Field and Historical Field renamed and consolidated to Package, Notes & Historical Field
* Production, Non-Classical Field; Production, Immersive Audio Field; and Production, Classical Field renamed and consolidated to Production Field
New Categories Added
Two new categories have been added, bringing the total number of Grammy Award categories to 86:
* Best Global Music Performance (Global Music Field)
* Best Música Urbana Album (Latin Music Field)
"The latest changes to the Grammy Awards process are prime examples of the Recording Academy's commitment to authentically represent all music creators and ensure our practices are in lock-step with the ever-changing musical environment," said Ruby Marchand, chief industry officer at the Recording Academy. "As we continue to build a more active and vibrant membership community, we are confident in the expertise of our voting members to recognize excellence in music each year."
"As an Academy, we have reaffirmed our commitment to continue to meet the needs of music creators everywhere, and this year's changes are a timely and positive step forward in the evolution of our voting process," said Bill Freimuth, chief awards officer at the Recording Academy. "We rely on the music community to help us to continue to evolve, and we're grateful for their collaboration and leadership."
The Recording Academy accepts proposals from members of the music community throughout the year. The Awards & Nominations Committee, comprised of Academy Voting Members of diverse genres and backgrounds, meets annually to review proposals to update Award categories, procedures and eligibility guidelines. The above rule amendments were voted on and passed at a Recording Academy Board of Trustees meeting held on April 30, 2021.
For information on the Awards process, visit Grammy.com.
The Recording Academy represents the voices of performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and all music professionals. Dedicated to ensuring the recording arts remain a thriving part of our shared cultural heritage, the Academy honors music's history while investing in its future through the Grammy Museum, advocates on behalf of music creators, supports music people in times of need through MusiCares, and celebrates artistic excellence through the Grammy Awards — music's only peer-recognized accolade and highest achievement. As the world's leading society of music professionals, we work year-round to foster a more inspiring world for creators.
In January 2020, former Recording Academy CEO Deborah Dugan filed a discrimination charge against the Recording Academy of Arts & Sciences, alleging she was being retaliated against for reporting misconduct within the Academy. In the 46-page complaint, Dugan further alleged that "the Grammy voting process is ripe with corruption," detailing secret committees the group used to "push forward artists with whom it has relationships." She said that as many as 30 artists who were not selected by the 12,000 voting members were added to the possible nomination l

CAVALERA CONSPIRACY 'Might' Record New EP, Says IGOR CAVALERAIn a new interview with Christina Rowatt of The Void With Christina, former SEPULTURA drummer Igor Cavalera spoke about the status of CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, his long-running collaborative project with his brother, ex-SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera. "Actually, I've been talking to Max about doing something new," he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "We might do an EP at some point. That's what I love about doing stuff with my brother. Because we're not attached to a band itself — it's just me and him — we can do things as we want without really thinking too much. And what I mean by that is acting on our gut feeling, which is something that a lot of people lose with time — you lose that gut feeling where you're supposed to do certain things because you want [to] and not necessarily being trapped into a label or into a certain thing. So, I guess CAVALERA has that freedom. And it's quite liberating for me and him that all it takes for us is just a little phone call, and then we do certain tours or an album. It's quite fun to do this and take all the drama out that involves being in a band with more people, which sometimes can be super annoying. That's what I enjoy the most about doing CAVALERA — the fact that we have this very straight connection where a few words define what we're gonna do."
CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's fourth album, "Psychosis", was released in November 2017 via Napalm Records. Max described the musical direction of the LP to Sam Sheppard from SINATE as "a mix. It's a real death metal/thrash metal-mix album, most of the stuff, except for 'Psychosis', the title track, which is instrumental, which is a bit like tribal prog rock, and 'Hellfire', which is more like NAILBOMB and GODFLESH, which also has Justin from GODFLESH on it. Everything else is very straightforward death/thrash. There's one song, 'Judas Pariah', that's a bit more black metal, and that was really fun, messing around in that area. I don't do much with that stuff, but that song came out really good. I kind of wanna do more of that, 'cause it was really fun and it was a blast making that song. But the bulk of the record is really… kind of like what a lot of people like about me and Igor is the era of [SEPULTURA's] 'Beneath The Remains' [and] 'Arise'."
Max went on to say that the overall direction of "Psychosis" was influenced in part by the album's producer, Arthur Rizk. "The producer was really into the whole catalog of me and Igor, but specifically those albums ['Beneath The Remains' and 'Arise'] he liked a lot," he said. "So he was going for delivering vocals that would be more towards those records than the newer stuff I've done. And, yeah, for me, it was fun. It was, like, 'Sure, we can try to recreate some of the magic.' But I think the album has a sound of right now, which I think is cool. It's got noise and elements like that; there's a lot of noise between every song — there's no silence."
SEPULTURA fell apart in 1996 with the exit of Max after the rest of the band split with his wife Gloria as their manager. Igor stuck around with the group for another ten years before leaving SEPULTURA and re-teaming with Max in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
Although SEPULTURA has maintained a diehard fanbase in all parts of the world throughout the band's nearly four-decade history, Max-era albums "Roots" and "Chaos A.D." were by far SEPULTURA's most commercially successful, having both been certified gold in the U.S. for sales in excess of five hundred thousand copies.

KARPENTER – Army Of Darkness Inspired Music Video “The Manor” StreamingKarpenter will be releasing their debut album Sleepless May 28 via Rockshots Records. The album will be a gateway to a hostile and tormented world, where space and time are perceived in a distorted way. Each track hides a story, and a tale steeped in fear all inspired by horror movie themes and characters such as "Perfection Valley" for Tremors, "No Vacancy" for Alfred Hitchock's Psycho, "Shark" influenced by Jaws, and their second single "The Manor" for Army Of Darkness, which is out now.
The band states: “‘The Manor’ is like an endless battle that brings many emotions to the table. We conceived it as a struggle to defend what’s most important to us, in an everlasting balance between win and loss, triumphant metal rides, and bitter melodic chords. ‘The Manor’ is a hymn to revenge and it is set in a fictitious “dark era” that might evoke the Middle Ages. It sounds so powerful and punchy that we couldn’t prevent it from spreading so fiercely.”
Named in tribute to horror movie master John Carpenter, the alternative-metal band was formed in 2019 by former Fightcast members Filippo Tellerini, Francesco Vicini, and Marco Biondi, along with Federico Conti (Creep), Manuel Nucci and Michele Mingozzi (Figure of Six). By connecting old-school influences with modern-sounding songs, the band aims at keeping the core of the style that characterized the past while projecting itself toward new and original experimentations of sounds and metal sub-genres.
Karpenter's members have shared the stage with established bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Ghost Inside, Poison The Well.
