MADAME MAYHEM Releases Cover Of AEROSMITH's "Living On The Edge"; Music Video Streaming

MADAME MAYHEM Releases Cover Of AEROSMITH's "Living On The Edge"; Music Video Streaming

Madame Mayhem has released her cover of Aerosmith's "Livin' On The Edge" to all digital platforms today. Stream/download here.

"Earlier in my career I covered Aerosmith's 'Livin' On The Edge' during our live shows. We had recorded a version, but it stayed in the Mayhem vault of songs completed, yet never released... until now! During these times, I feel this song is especially relevant. I wanted to give fans and fellow music lovers alike, a little something to rock out to during these strange and difficult days which we are all experiencing together," says Madame Mayhem.

This song was produced and arranged by Mark Hudson, who was also a songwriter on "Living On The Edge" with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

The video is "From The Vault" throwback footage, making of, and behind the scenes of the hustle at the beginning of MM's rock career, a real behind the scenes take with live performance shots too.

Those who yearn for the electric catharsis of loud guitars, driving rhythms, hypnotic
hooks, and the strength of shared experience have a new muse in Madame Mayhem.

Those who yearn for the electric catharsis of loud guitars, driving rhythms, hypnotic
hooks, and the strength of shared experience have a new muse in Madame Mayhem.

The Manhattan born singer/songwriter takes charge of her own anxiety, hurt, and alienation, crushing it with sheer force of will, then channeling the remaining ether into pulse-pounding anthems, instantly connecting with anyone who has struggled.

She has toured with Sevendust, Memphis May Fire, Fozzy, Nonpoint and Doro. Across three exceedingly well-received albums - Ready for Me (2017), Now You Know (2015), and White Noise (2012) - Madame Mayhem worked with Russ “Satchel” Parrish (Steel Panther), Corey Lowery (Seether), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), and Troy McLawhorn (Evanescence) to name just a few. Her 2019 single was co-written with Keith Wallen (Breaking Benjamin) and features her longtime friends and collaborators Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) and Ray Luzier (Korn).

STRYPER Releases Music Video For 'Do Unto Others'

STRYPER Releases Music Video For 'Do Unto Others'

The official music video for "Do Unto Others", the new single from openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Even The Devil Believes", which is being released today (Friday, September 4) via Frontiers Music Srl.

Filled with the band's signature riffs, harmony-laden melodies and positive themes, the 11-track project is STRYPER's first studio album with Perry Richardson (FIREHOUSE) on bass and background vocals.

"We're incredibly happy to write a new chapter in the book of STRYPER," says vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet, who has served as the band's primary songwriter since its inception in 1983. "This album was recorded during the pandemic, and I believe the message pertains to the times we are living in so perfectly. It's a recording of hope and inspiration and a light in the darkest of times."

Sweet, who also produced the new album, revealed that the band members delivered focused determination, a collaborative spirit and spot-on execution for the new record. The result is a collection of remarkable songs that will leave a strong impact on listeners.

"It has an energy unlike any other album we've done," he asserts. "We even pulled a song from the past that has never been heard or released, and by doing so we brought a little bit of 1989 back into the mix."

Standout tracks include "Blood From Above", "Make Love Great Again", "Do Unto Others", "How To Fly", "Divider" and the heart-stirring ballad "This I Pray".

"The music and lyrics are rock-solid," says Sweet. "God really blessed this one and hopefully it will bless everyone who hears it as well."

"Even The Devil Believes" track listing:

01. Blood From Above

02. Make Love Great Again

03. Let Him In

04. Do Unto Others

05. Even The Devil Believes

06. How To Fly

07. Divider

08. This I Pray

09. Invitation Only

10. For God & Rock 'N' Roll

11. Middle Finger Messiah

Most of the recording sessions for STRYPER's new LP took place at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts with engineer Danny Bernini.

Formed 37 years ago, STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

STRYPER's albums include "To Hell With The Devil", "Second Coming", "No More Hell To Pay", "Fallen" and "God Damn Evil".

Sweet's tenth solo album, "Ten", was released in October via Rat Pak Records in North America and Frontiers Music Srl in Europe.

The mastering of Carnival Of Killers was handled by J.F. Dagenais at JFD Studios in Dallas, TX. SAXON Frontman BIFF BYFORD Reveals Worst Album He's Ever Made - "Don’t Let Other People Steer Your Car..."

SAXON Frontman BIFF BYFORD Reveals Worst Album He's Ever Made - "Don’t Let Other People Steer Your Car..."

Saxon frontman Biff Byford is featured in a new interview with Classic Rock, looking back on the highs and lows of his career and naming some of his favourite artists. Following is an excerpt.

The first song I played live

Byford: "'Paint It, Black' by the Rolling Stones. I was a teenager, and my band’s first gig was at a youth club in Scissett, a little village in Yorkshire. I played guitar – quite badly – and sang it as well. It’s quite an easy song to sing. And the girls in the audience liked it. That was the main aim back then."

The guitar hero

Byford: "Different eras have different guitar gods. The first one has to be Hendrix. When Hendrix came out he moved the goalposts. Gary Moore was another phenomenal player. Ritchie Blackmore, you can’t put down what he did. And then there was Eddie Van Halen. When we were recording the first Saxon album, in 1979, I saw Van Halen at the Rainbow in London, and the guitar playing had the same effect on me as Hendrix did."

The best record I've made

Byford: "I’m very proud of Thunderbolt (2018). That was as near perfect as we could get it. And of course, Wheels Of Steel was such a big record for us. We were going to get dropped after the first album didn’t do so well. It was a rough period mentally, but when we wrote those songs for Wheels Of Steel it was great. Everybody knew we were on to something."

The worst record I've made

Byford: "When we made Destiny, in 1988, the band was in a pretty lousy state morale-wise. The producer put a lot of keyboards on the tracks after we’d finished them. Honestly, we just let that one go. But I think we learned a valuable lesson from that album: don’t let other people steer your car."

GUNS N' ROSES Officially Cancels Tour South/Central American Tour

GUNS N' ROSES Officially Cancels Tour South/Central American Tour

GUNS N' ROSES has officially canceled its previously announced fall 2020 tour of South and Central America due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe. The trek was scheduled to kick off on November 8 in the Dominican Republic and conclude on December 6 in Bogota, Colombia.

The iconic rockers announced the cancelation in a social media post on Friday (September 4). They wrote: "To all our friends and Gunners in South America: the GNR South American 2020 tour dates have been cancelled by the promoters of the shows due to the COVID-19 health mandates and restrictions established by all the various local and national authorities. However, the safety and well-being of our fans, ham and community remains our highest priority.

"These tour dates will not be rescheduled at this time due to the current impact of COVID-19 around the world.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. We are working on putting together a new Latin/South America tour. Please hang in there for further details once dates are locked in.

"Local promoters will issue detailed plans for all ticket refunds."

In July, GUNS N' ROSES announced the rescheduled dates for its North American stadium tour.

GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour, which began four years ago, recently became the No. 3 highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore.

Launched in April 2016, "Not in This Lifetime" featured classic-lineup members Slash, Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

GUNS kicked off its long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour with a club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California's Coachella festival.

The band is now reportedly working on a new studio album — the first under the GUNS banner since 2008's "Chinese Democracy" and the first to feature Rose, Slash and McKagan since 1993.

DEATH DEALER Feat. Former MANOWAR Guitarist ROSS THE BOSS: 'Conquered Lands' Album Due In November

DEATH DEALER Feat. Former MANOWAR Guitarist ROSS THE BOSS: 'Conquered Lands' Album Due In November

DEATH DEALER, the band featuring MANOWAR and the DICTATORS guitarist Ross "The Boss" Friedman alongside vocalist Sean Peck (CAGE), guitarist Stu Marshall (producer and guitarist for such voices as Udo Dirkschneider and Steve Grimmett), bassist Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) and drummer Steve Bolognese (INTO ETERNITY), will release its third album, "Conquered Lands", on November 13 through Steel Cartel. The LP's lead-off track, "Sorcerer Supreme", can be heard below.

"Conquered Lands" was mixed by Marshall, and guitars, drums, and bass were treated at Monolith Studios in Melbourne, Australia by Chris Themelco. The album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California.

The DEATH DEALER sound mixes classic heavy metal with elements of thrash, power, and epic stylings, all wrapped around powerful choruses that compel the listener to sing along at the top of their lungs with fists held high in the air.

Says Ross: "We have been working on this record for quite a while now and it feels like the perfect time to get this out and give the people a kick-ass heavy metal record. It almost seems like it was meant to be that the album comes out during this time period because people could use this uplifting rock and roll to put some positive energy back into their lives."

Adds Stu: "We all worked really hard on this thing and I am really happy with how it sounds. All the people that helped me with the production really came through, especially Maor Applebaum, who mastered it."

States Sean: "Making an album always is fun and you look forward to the fans' reaction to it, of course, but I really look forward to performing some of these ripping, speed screamers live on stage with the guys — and my new bandmate Mike LePond."

DEATH DEALER has compiled an insane variety of pre-order packages, dubbed "Ultimate Conqueror Paks", that have combinations of unique digipak, colored vinyl, and merch configurations. The label Steel Cartel has become well known for offering exotic arrangements of unique merchandise products for the fans at value-rich price points. This go-around, they have a stunning, 3-D lenticular print of the cover art by Dusan Markovic included, among other killer items.

"I always look forward to working with Sean Peck on album art," says Dusan. "He always brings a fresh idea to the table and pushes me in new directions I don't normally go. The 'Conquered Lands' cover was fun because I do not do a lot of Egyptian themes and this cover came out great."

Stu stated about the mixing and mastering partners he engaged: "Chris made some amazing things happen to the mix and sound of the instruments and what can you say about Maor? He is the best in the business right now. There is no reason to look for anyone else. He has always been a big supporter too, which is great."

Only three tracks will reach the streaming platforms for the foreseeable future. This is an "old-school campaign" directed at the true metal supporters and long-term fan engagement.

"Conquered Lands" track listing:

01. Sorcerer Supreme

02. Every Nation

03. Beauty And The Blood

04. Running With The Wolves

05. The Heretic Has Returned

06. Conquered Lands

07. Hail To The King

08. Slay Or Be Slain

09. Faith Under Fire

11. Born To Bear The Crown

DEATH DEALER will support the new release with touring and festival appearances in the coming months.

RISING STEEL - Official Lyric Video For "Steel Hammer" Released

RISING STEEL - Official Lyric Video For "Steel Hammer" Released

Frontiers released Rising Steel's label debut, Fight Them All, on September 4th. The official lyric video for the track "Steel Hammer" is available below.

Rising Steel is an up-and-coming heavy metal band from Grenoble, France, who also happens to be the first French band signed to Frontiers Music Srl. After their Warlord EP (2014) and full-length Return Of The Warlord (2016), the band shared stages with acts like Annihilator, Jaded Heart, Sister Sin, Nightmare, ADX, Nashville Pussy, and more, which garnered them more exposure to a larger international audience and eventually led them to connecting with Frontiers, who eagerly asked them to join the label's expanding metal roster.

After three years of gigging and writing new material, the band is now ready to storm the international scene with their next album, Fight Them All. Due for release on Frontiers Records on September 4, the album presents a delightfully aggressive mixture of power, heavy, and thrash metal. Explosive riffing, crushing rhythms, and songs that will make you bang your head are the order of the day on Rising Steel's upcoming record. The quintet delivers a “not so” classical heavy metal sound with their influences coming mainly from the 80’s NWOBHM, hard rock, and thrash metal scenes. Solid and powerful metal music, the band is inspired by the legacies of legends like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and is recommended for fans with diverse metal palates who like bands ranging from Nevermore, Queensrÿche, Iced Earth, early Metallica, and the like.

Modern melodic rockers, Brother Firetribe, will release their fifth album, Feel The Burn, on September 18. The new single, "Chariot Of Fire", is available for streaming below.

"It always pays off to stick to your guns. 'Chariot Of Fire' is a song that fought its way to become a Brother Firetribe song", singer Pekka Heino says. "We knew we had a chorus, but the rest was fluffy at its best. Jimmy (Westerlund, the producer) stepped up and put the meat around what we thought was great. The vibe of the song demanded a story about the desire to break the old patterns: it's about 'you-and-me-against-the-world', about the change for the better, an 'all in the name of love' kinda thing. And that's what we first scribbled on pieces of paper when started working on the lyrics. Ok, the title came from the movie, but Vangelis played no part in this one! Sadly", Heino laughs.

The Finnish rock band has been keeping a secret all summer long and has only recently revealed glimpses on social media of what they've been up to: the music video for "Night Drive" will live on as "the Night Drive dude" makes a comeback in an epic short film the band has been shooting. The script of the film has been inspired by the upcoming album, Feel The Burn, and by the music of Brother Firetribe. The lineup consists of established Finnish actors and, of course, Pekka Heino. The short film will be released later this fall.

EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE: 'I Feel Like I'm Not Being True To Myself If I'm Not Using My Voice Right Now'

EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE: 'I Feel Like I'm Not Being True To Myself If I'm Not Using My Voice Right Now'

Last month, EVANESCENCE released a new single, "Use My Voice", which was written to celebrate the power of speaking out in order to promote more justice in the world. The track, featuring contributions from THE PRETTY RECKLESS's Taylor Momsen and HALESTORM's Lzzy Hale, was chosen by HeadCount in the USA to encourage voters to register, check their registration, or find out about their remote voting options amid the COVID-19 pandemic at UseMyVoice.org.

"This song and this moment, for me, is very much about the voices that have been unheard," EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee told AXS TV's "At Home And Social Online" (see video below). "We need everybody to speak up, even the people that aren't normally politically minded. I'm not. I, honestly, have been guilty of not always voting. It's not like I'm this person who's always speaking out.

"I never, ever have used our platform to talk politics or religion," she continued. "That's always been, like, 'No. We need a place where we can all unify and come together,' and that has always been just a policy of mine. I've finally gotten to a place where it feels too big, it feels too important. I feel like I'm not being true to myself if I'm not using my voice right now and saying more than just 'go vote.' But for my own heart, being able to say what I believe from time to time while carefully choosing my words, I think that that's important right now. I think silence is a statement,

"There's so many social issues going on," Amy added. "And it's not that you need to be super active on your Twitter; it doesn't really just mean that. But we need to be paying attention. And more than anything, we need to use our voices; we need to be heard. This country and the world needs to represent its people. So let's let 'em know we're here."

This past May, Lee said that she was " angry, horrified" and "ashamed" over the murder of George Floyd in police custody as well as President Donald Trump's response to the subsequent protests and riots.

Just three months earlier, Lee opened up about her political views for the first time, explaining that she couldn't "stand by" and keep her mouth shut while her "country's freedom is taken away." He decision to speak out was apparently prompted by the GOP-controlled Senate's vote to acquit Trump on both articles of impeachment without calling witnesses.

She wrote at the time: "I do not accept lying, cheating or bullying from my government… Accepting this abuse says it's okay for our leaders to lie to us, cheat on us, make decisions without our input, and silence us when we try to speak up. This isn't about your policies or beliefs, it's about our freedom."

Lee added: "I will never bow down to a dictator."

EVANESCENCE's long-awaited new album, "The Bitter Truth", will arrive later this year.

The band's new music is being produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who also worked on 2011's self-titled LP.

EVANESCENCE spent much of the last two years recording and touring in support of 2017's "Synthesis", which contained some of the band's best-loved songs — as well as a couple of new ones — reinvented with full orchestra over a deep electronic landscape.

NAPALM DEATH Frontman Says He Is 'Very Pro Mask': 'It Shows Respect For Your Fellow Human Beings'

NAPALM DEATH Frontman Says He Is 'Very Pro Mask': 'It Shows Respect For Your Fellow Human Beings'

NAPALM DEATH frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway has weighed in on the face mask debate, saying that wearing a mask during a pandemic "shows respect for your fellow human beings."

Grenway addressed the hot-button issue as lawmakers continue to push for their constituents to wear face masks to limit the spread of coronavirus. Months after his own advisers recommended it, President Donald Trump finally briefly wore a mask in public in July during a visit to wounded service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Speaking to "Lambgoat Vanflip" podcast, Barney said about how his native United Kingdom has handled the coronavirus crisis so far (hear audio below): "This push for economic opening or whatever has meant that, inevitably, there's rises in cases in a lot of places.

"I'm no scientist, but the probability, to me, seems like it's gonna go up significantly; I just get that feeling. So that's where we are at the moment.

"People are wearing masks, generally speaking," he continued. "But the whole idea of wearing the mask is to, of course, protect anybody if you're carrying the virus. But you still have to socially distance; otherwise, you're defeating the object of the exercise.

"I'm very pro mask, I must be honest. I just think it's a human thing. If you can't be bothered to even partially protect people around you, then I don't know what that says for people.

"Just because you're asked to wear a mask, is that really like a pair of handcuffs on a person?" Barney asked rhetorically. "I don't get that mindset. I just don't get the logic of it… And I think it shows respect for your fellow human beings to wear a mask, actually. 'Cause it says, 'You know what? It might not be the endgame, but at least I value your safety, as a fellow human being."

Earlier this summer, the U.S. Surgeon General urged people to wear face coverings, saying they will promote freedom during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a study published in June, researchers from Texas A&M University, the California Institute of Technology and the University of California San Diego, concluded "that wearing of face masks in public corresponds to the most effective means to prevent interhuman transmission."

NAPALM DEATH will release its new studio album, "Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism", on September 18 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2015's "Apex Predator - Easy Meat" was again recorded with longtime producer Russ Russell and features artwork by Frode Sylthe.

BEHEMOTH's NERGAL On Touring Post-Pandemic: 'I Don't Think It's Gonna Go Back Exactly In The Same Form'

BEHEMOTH's NERGAL On Touring Post-Pandemic: 'I Don't Think It's Gonna Go Back Exactly In The Same Form'

In a new interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, BEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski spoke about what the touring circuit might look like post-pandemic. He said (hear audio below): "Honestly, man, I don't know. I'm not an oracle. It's hard to say. I just try to stay reasonable and keep my hygiene, follow the protocols and just cross fingers and hope for the best. But I don't know, man. I'm also a realist as well. So I don't really believe in miracles — I don't think it's gonna just be back to normal.

"I'm afraid the shows and tours that we've toured so far, that we have in our heads, that we remember, I don't think it's gonna go back exactly in the same form, I'm afraid," he continued. "There's gonna be changes; I don't know what. But in general, I can't really say the world's gonna be the same — not just the music business; everything, really.

"I try not to evaluate, because at the end of the day, according to my life philosophy, every change is good. So we need to adapt. The change makes us evolve, honestly.

"It's hard to say," he repeated. "Of course, I miss shows, I miss the interaction with fans. I love it, and I fucking live for that, and the last 20 years of BEHEMOTH, it's only a living proof of the fact. It is our passion, and we're gonna find other ways how we can express our art and delivery to people — there's gonna be other ways. I don't think it's gonna be that bad, but it's gonna be different. That is my guess, but maybe I'm all wrong."

Last month, BEHEMOTH announced "In Absentia Dei", a groundbreaking immersive livestream spectacular which will broadcast on September 5 from a secret church location in Poland. The event will be streamed in high-definition 4K, with an immersive experience option, allowing viewers to choose from eight different camera angles in the multi-camera shoot or watch the "Director's Cut." Tickets for this theatrical extravaganza are available now at www.behemoth.live. Parts of the performance may offend, so the footage is only recommended for fans 18+. Special guests at the event will be mysterious black metal avant gardeists IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, whose set will come from The Slipper Room in New York City.

"In Absentia Dei" will also feature an hour long pre-show (which can be viewed for free at youtube.com/behemothofficial) commencing at 7 p.m. CET / 6 p.m. UK / 1 p.m. EST / 10 a.m. PST, with the full two-hour show beginning at 8 p.m. CET / 7 p.m. UK / 2 p.m. EST / 11 a.m. PST, exclusively at www.behemoth.live.

Ticket holders can watch the event up to 72 hours after the initial broadcast time. There is a 20% Early Bird discount on ticket prices until midnight CET on August 28, and a run of limited-edition event merchandise will also be available until 72 hours post-event, or until stocks last. Ticket and merch bundles are also on sale.

BEHEMOTH's latest EP, "A Forest", was released in May via Metal Blade. The EP's title track is a cover of THE CURE classic, and it features a guest appearance by SHINING frontman Niklas Kvarforth. The "A Forest" EP also includes a live version of the title track as well as two songs from the "I Loved You At Your Darkest" sessions.

BEHEMOTH supported SLIPKNOT on an arena tour of Europe in January and February.

METALLICA's Drive-In Concert Was Secretly Filmed At Northern California Winery

METALLICA's Drive-In Concert Was Secretly Filmed At Northern California Winery

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, METALLICA's performance that will air on August 29 at drive-in theaters was filmed nearly three weeks earlier at the Gundlach Bundschu winery, about a 30-minute car ride from the band's headquarters in San Rafael, California.

Less than half a dozen locals were made aware that the biggest heavy metal band in the world was set up overlooking the vineyard of the Sonoma winery secretly performing some of their biggest hits without an audience.

The band rehearsed for two weeks at their headquarters while the METALLICA crew stayed in 30 rooms at Sonoma's El Pueblo Inn for almost two weeks. Everyone was subjected to repeated COVID testing before METALLICA played the secret concert on August 10 without any of their fans in attendance.

METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett told Uproxx about the concert: "We filmed the actual drive-in show about two weeks ago, at a secret location in Northern California. And it was the first time that we had gotten together since [last September's] 'S&M' shows. It was really important for us to be able to come together and play that particular show, because we needed to just get some sort of semblance of, if we're going to go forward in the future, how that was going to look with the pandemic going, and all of these safety protocols. We adapted this whole safety protocol so that we were able to work at HQ, and rehearse without us having any fears of being infected, or infecting other people. What that meant was getting tested for COVID, literally every other day. That week of rehearsal, I got tested for COVID five times… It also meant that our entire crew had to have face masks on. A double face mask, which was a paper mask and an N95 mask, [plus] a face shield, and a raincoat, and gloves, and sanitize, and just spray our guitars. That was while we were rehearsing. While we were filming, we were the only people in the whole place without masks on. Everyone else had masks on. And everyone, from the crew to us, had been tested, and quarantined as well. We were able to do that, and do that successfully without any health flare-ups, or any obvious sort of potential of getting infected. So that kind of set a precedent for us moving forward. It gave us hope, knowing that with all this that’s happening right now, if we need to, we can still get together and function as a band."

Asked what fans should expect from the resulting feature-length film, which will be screened at more than 300 outdoor venues across the country, including at the winery where the concert was filmed, Hammett said: "Full balls-out METALLICA show. We're filmed playing outside, and it's everything you should expect to see from us. We walk out on stage and play our music. It's just the 2020 version. If anything, it's a document of us playing in this time. And it's also an opportunity for us to just put something out there for the people who are bored, and for METALLICA fans who need something to do. I know I'm constantly looking for something to do. And so this is our way of going out there and just giving people something."

METALLICA's concert was shot specially for the "Encore Drive-In Nights Series" and was subsequently edited and mixed by the band's award-winning production team to the highest standards possible.

Earlier this month, METALLICA took part in an interview and short performance on "The Howard Stern Show".

In early May, the four members of METALLICA overcame social distancing to record a new version of their song "Blackened", with each member separated in his own home. The split-screen video was posted to the band's social media channels.

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at five Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May, September and October have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Louder Than Life in Louisville and Aftershock in Sacramento.

DEE SNIDER Is 'Already Writing Material' For Next Studio Album

DEE SNIDER Is 'Already Writing Material' For Next Studio Album

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider says that he is returning to the studio to record his next solo album. The upcoming disc will be the follow-up to "For The Love Of Metal", which was released in July 2018 via Napalm Records. That effort, which was produced by HATEBREED vocalist Jamey Jasta, featured contributions from Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Mark Morton (LAMB OF GOD), Alissa White-Gluz (ARCH ENEMY), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (TOXIC HOLOCAUST), and Charlie Bellmore (KINGDOM OF SORROW).

Earlier today, Snider tweeted: "Here's some actual breaking news for you...it looks like I'm heading back into the studio to record my next solo album. We are already writing material. Same band and Jamey Jasta producing. You (and the others reading this tweet) are the first to know."

Snider's latest release was "For The Love Of Metal Live!" , which came out on July 31 via Napalm Records. The DVD/Blu-ray and accompanying live album (available in various formats) features audio captured from several Snider festival performances worldwide — from the United States to Europe, Australia and beyond. In addition to tracks from Snider's solo catalog, like "I Am The Hurricane" and "For The Love Of Metal", TWISTED SISTER favorites such as "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It", and even a cover of AC/DC's "Highway To Hell", the audio portion of "For The Love Of Metal Live!" also features a brand new original studio track, "Prove Me Wrong".

In an interview with Chris Annunziata of the New Jersey radio station 90.3 WMSC-FM, Snider said about "For The Love Of Metal": "This is a really exciting album I did not expect to make, especially at this point in my life. I was doing Jamey Jasta's podcast, and he challenged me to make a contemporary rock record. And I was, like, 'Who's producing?' He said, 'I am.' And so we went in the studio [with] no record deal, and people started flocking [to appear on the LP]. It just amazed me, the enthusiasm and excitement that these younger musicians — younger than me, at least — had for working with Dee Snider and being a part of this project."

TWISTED SISTER called it quits in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour.

Here's some actual breaking news for you...it looks like I'm heading back into the studio to record my next solo album. We are already writing material. Same band and Jamey Jasta producing. You (and the others reading this tweet) are the first to know. https://t.co/LtTTkCMOO6

AYREON Releases Official Lyric Video For "This Human Equation" Feat. "Angel Of Death", EPICA Vocalist SIMONE SIMONS

AYREON Releases Official Lyric Video For "This Human Equation" Feat. "Angel Of Death", EPICA Vocalist SIMONE SIMONS

Ayreon will release a brand-new sprawling and epic studio album, Transitus, on September 25 via Music Theories Recordings. Below is the third lyric video from the  album, highlighting Epica's Simone Simons as the ruthless but deceptively cute Angel Of Death.

Says mastermind Arjen Lucassen: "I also love the priceless introduction by our favorite doctor, Tom Baker. And yes Ayreonauts... there are several clues to the intricate Ayreon mythology, besides the obvious reference in the title: THIS HUMAN EQUATION!"

Lucassen recently checked in with the following update: "I’m proud to present you the next sneak peek from the behind the scenes section of the upcoming Transitus DVD: the impressive Hellscore Choir! When their conductor Noa Gruman asked me if I needed a choir, I didn’t have to think twice... and an amazing job they did! Diabolically awesome – goosebumps all over. Thank you, big hugs to each and every one of you!"

Lyric videos for the songs, "Get Out! Now!" (feat. Dee Snider, Tommy Karevik & Joe Satriani), and "Hopelessly Slipping Away" (feat. Tom Baker, Cammie Gilbert & Tommy Karevik), can be found below.

Says Arjen Lucassen: "Welcome to the colorful world of... Transitus! Finally the time has come to present you the very first full singles and lyric videos of the new Ayreon album Transitus. Yes... singleS, plural!  This album is incredibly diverse so I really couldn’t choose just one track because I wouldn’t want people to get the wrong impression of the overall mood of the album. So we decided to make a video for both an atmospheric track ‘Hopelessly Slipping Away’ and a rocky track ‘Get out! Now!’

"‘Hopelessly Slipping Away’ features Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) and Cammie Gilbert (Oceans Of Slumber) on vocals. It’s a haunting track with analog synthesizers and violin, and it slowly builds to an epic climax with marching snares. In this video we see the ghost of Daniel (Tommy) hopelessly trying to reach out to his beloved wife Abby (Cammie) who clearly feels his presence but can’t see or hear him.

"The track ‘Get Out! Now!’ is a straightforward and energetic rock track with powerful drums, bass, guitars and Hammond organ. It features the illustrious Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Tommy Karevik on vocals, and none other than the legendary Joe Satriani plays a blistering guitar solo. In this story Daniel’s intolerant father (Dee) banishes Daniel (Tommy) from his estate for having a forbidden affair with their servant Abby.

"So here you have it... I hope you enjoy at least one of the two tracks, have fun!"

The album will be available on 2CD, 2LP gatefold red transparent vinyl and a 48-page Earbook which includes 5 discs; 2CD album, 1CD instrumental versions, 1CD guide vocal versions, and a DVD with bonus footage which includes a behind the scenes video, a videoclip, trailer and a 5.1 audio and hi-def stereo mix of the album. The release will be accompanied by a 28-page graphic novel which will be included in the Earbook as well as the 2LP.

Pre-order Transitus here. Watch a video trailer below.

In 2017 Ayreon released The Source, which revisited the Forever/Planet Y saga, but now three years later it is time for something completely different…

“The year is 1884, these are dark, troubled times, fraught with greed, envy and prejudice…” begins our narrator and storyteller, Tom Baker…

Transitus is built around an entirely new story, not connected to the Ayreon universe although as always it does have some subtle links. The sci-fi theme makes way for a gothic ghost story set (partly) in the 19th century with elements of horror and the supernatural. It’s on a dark thunderous night where our story of Abby and Daniel begins.

From the mastermind of Dutch multi-instrumentalist Arjen Lucassen, Transitus is inspired by supernatural movies such as The Others, The Changeling and Ghost along with the music of soundtrack composers John Carpenter (Halloween), Ennio Morricone (Once upon a Time in the West) and Jerry Goldsmith (Omen). “And of course, I revisited all my favorite rock operas such as JC Superstar, Tommy, War of the Worlds and the Wall,” Lucassen adds.

Transitus is narrated by one of the most iconic and recognizable voices in sci-fi history, most known from his eight-year stint as Doctor Who, Tom Baker. “I was looking for a real storyteller with a mature, deep, warm voice. As a kid, I was a huge Doctor Who fan and my favorite doctor was Tom Baker. I couldn’t believe my luck when he agreed to do it! We went to the UK to record him, and it was one of those unforgettable experiences.”

As with any Ayreon album, it is an explosive and expansive affair and features Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) as Daniel and Cammie Gilbert (Oceans of Slumber) as Abby. The all-star cast also features Simone Simons (Epica), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, Johanne James (Threshold), Noa Gruman (Scardust), Marcela Bovio (MaYan), Caroline Westendorp (The Charm the Fury), Paul Manzi (Arena), Michael Mills (Toehider) and Amanda Somerville (Avantasia, Trilium) amongst many others.

“When I started this, I just had no idea that it was going to take me this long! It took about 3 years from start to finish, and it pushed me out of my comfort zone musically and creatively. But I always need that challenge, the harder it is, the more fun for me to work on it!,” comments Lucassen.

Transitus is Lucassen’s most ambitious work yet, "This is without a doubt the most cinematic and outrageous album I’ve ever done," he affirms.

"I always start with finding singers first before I write the vocal parts, because I write the parts specifically for their vocal strengths. Because I was going for a theatrical feel for this album, this time I picked the singers not just because they are amazing singers, but because they had a certain charisma and were able to act."

Transitus is accompanied by an amazing graphic novel drawn by the renowned artist Felix Vega. “Because Ayreon’s music is so visual, I’ve always wanted to do an Ayreon graphic novel/comic book,” he says.

Reflecting on the approach to Transitus he says, “I love my last Ayreon album The Source. I often say that it sounds so much like Ayreon... if someone else would have released it I could have sued them for copyright infringement and won easily! But “our genre” is called progressive, which for me means breaking new ground and experimenting musically. So, in the true prog spirit, I set out to try something entirely different than a “typical Ayreon,” I wanted to do something more theatrical, almost like a musical. “

DEEP PURPLE Releases Music Video For 'Nothing At All'

DEEP PURPLE Releases Music Video For 'Nothing At All'

Legendary rockers DEEP PURPLE have released the official music video for the song "Nothing At All". The track is taken from the band's latest album, "Whoosh!", which was released on August 7 via earMUSIC. The LP was once again helmed by Canadian producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, ALICE COOPER), who also worked on the band's last two studio albums, 2017's "Infinite" and 2013's "Now What?!"

"Whoosh!" was made available as a limited CD+DVD mediabook (including the one-hour feature "Roger Glover And Bob Ezrin In Conversation" and, for the first time, the full live performance at Hellfest 2017 as video), 2LP+DVD edition, limited box set and digital.

Singer Ian Gillan told Fox News about what it feels like to be releasing a new album at this point in PURPLE's career: "It's nice, to be honest. I feel like we're back in the '70s. There's this energy that’s quite fascinating to me. How does it feel? It feels good because we had a lot of fun making this record. We spent five or six days in Germany earlier this year. Then we went to Nashville for two and a half weeks where we did the writing and arrangements. It was remarkably quick. Then I rented a cottage on the banks of the Cumberland River, overlooking the Grand Ole Opry. So I can hear the music floating from across the river until the early hours of the morning. And then I would sit up all through the night and write in this magical atmosphere. How do I feel? Pretty good. It's nice when you finish a project and you're happy with the result."

Asked what is was about Nashville that became a place of inspiration for him, Gillan said: "I have to be quite honest with you, but I just think the circumstances were good. Our producer, who's Canadian, lives in Nashville. And he has a place in Nashville where you have everything you need. It was a fantastic, relaxing environment to make a record. It was more from a practical point of view than an inspirational one."

03. We're All The Same In The Dark

NAPALM DEATH Release Music Video For New Single "A Bellyful Of Salt And Spleen"

NAPALM DEATH Release Music Video For New Single "A Bellyful Of Salt And Spleen"

Napalm Death are soon to release their new album, Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism, out September 18 via Century Media Records.

To further demonstrate the wide stylistic array explored on the album, Napalm Death are now launching a single/video clip for the closing track, “A Bellyful Of Salt And Spleen”. Check it out in a video clip created by Sam Edwards & Khaled Lowe of A-Side Films, below.

Vocalist Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway commented about the song/video as follows: “’A Bellyful of Salt and Spleen’, you could say, is about building and breaking down in the same discordant breath. The building came in the sense of many layers of coruscating industrial ambience, all marching to the beat of a home-made drum kit consisting of rubbish bins, oil drums and industrial screw parts and other bits that Shane could find littered around the studio grounds. The scope and gravity and density just demanded a vocal that was as baritone and anguished as I could push out of myself.

"The breaking down side of it was the intention to just focus minds to understand that people who traverse continents, suffocate in confined spaces or drown grasping for assistance are as keen to live in dignity and peace -  and without violence and hunger - as the rest of us. As ever, quite simply, we are all human beings and if that means anything anymore, a helping hand is the least we can offer.

"Sam Edwards & Khaled Lowe, directing the video, really focussed our minds in the way they wanted to drill down into the indifference generated around these things – via some incredible animation and suchlike married to the stuttering engines of unseaworthy vessels and the precision shunt of our industrial pounding. The whole visual concept of beach life going on around bodies washed up on the shore is a grotesque scenario that illustrates how meaningless those we can’t connect to our own small universe can become.”

And video directors Sam Edwards / Khaled Lowe from A-Side Films added the following comment: “This film was commissioned by UK Grindcore pioneers Napalm Death. Both the song & video address the disturbing prevalence of the “anti-outsider” in contemporary society; from popular right wing publications filled with hate-fuelled rhetoric through to the chilling nonchalance of holiday makers found relaxing in front of washed up corpses.

"Based on real events, the film uses a combination of live action and animation to depict a doomed voyage; Escaping their ruined city, a family of refugees meet a tragic end when their boat sinks during a storm. As the dinghy sinks near the shoreline, indifferent tourists party & picnic. Bodies wash up on the beach while people take selfies, heedless to the carnage behind them. The story concludes with images of a vast “sea cemetery” of floating gravestones & an obscure ghostly figure drifting on the horizon - these represent the countless lives lost in the pursuit of freedom from oppression and the ease with which they are forgotten.”

Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2015’s Apex Predator - Easy Meat album, was again recorded with longtime producer Russ Russell and features artwork by Frode Sylthe.

From the pinnacle of confrontational instrumental extremity and steadfast lyrical humanity, Napalm Death’s new album warps musical landscapes all over again. Throes Of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism includes 12 songs seething with caustic evolution and unrelenting scope.

SOUTH OF EDEN Share Video For "The Talk"

SOUTH OF EDEN Share Video For "The Talk"

After releasing their debut EP The Talk in August, buzzing Columbus, OH rock band South Of Eden have unleashed the official music video for the EP’s title track.

Talking about the clip, the band said: "This video ties all the ideas from the record together. Distorted views, unclear agendas, the masses following along and a sense of unsettling tension. All accompanied by a mixture of emotions, moods and lights. ‘The Talk’ was a lot of fun to shoot and quite a strange experience! The pandemic has changed a lot all over the world, and here in Ohio the laws are very strict on social distancing."

"When it was time to start planning a video, we knew a lot of work and research had to be done to ensure the video came out exactly how we envisioned it and that all of the guidelines were met. Temperature on arrival, masks, social distancing, the whole nine-yards. Kinda hard to read the cameraman’s face when you can’t see it! The craziest part was the director was monitoring on a zoom call from a different state! Everyone did such an awesome job and were so professional about it, it ended being an awesome experience. I’m interested to see what the world looks like when it opens back up again."

SÓLSTAFIR Share Animated Video For Haunting New Song "Drýsill"

SÓLSTAFIR Share Animated Video For Haunting New Song "Drýsill"

Iceland rock giants, Sólstafir, will be releasing their seventh studio album, Endless Twilight Of Codependent Love, on November 6 via Season of Mist. The band have unveiled their emotional new song, "Drýsill", along with a  haunting animated video. The song and accompanying clip, which was directed/created by Kim Holm and animated by David Hall, give an introspective look at the horrors of domestic violence. Watch below.

"'Drýsill,' in Icelandic, means demon," explains lyricist and drummer Hallgrímur Jón Hallgrimsson.

"This is the story of a woman who fell for someone who promised her the world with his smile. She fell captive to his mind games. His intentions were riddled with evil as he fed off of her love. Her humanity disappears as he gains power by mentally and physically torturing her, keeping her locked away in a prison of her own mind. The video illustrates her personal journey through hell as she spirals further into the darkness of captivity until what feels like the end. But one day she is able to gather her strength and use the rest of her power towards the dark to fight her way back into the light. As she kills him with the very shovel he was going to use to bury her with, he is still smiling at her. Laughing at her. Mocking her.

"This song is about fighting the demons that you allow to control your mind, and breaking free. It’s about rescuing yourself and finding the strength and the courage to be victorious, no matter how hurt you’ve been.

"We were excited to work with Kim Holm (Svartir Sandar album artwork) on this one as we felt he could perfectly capture the dark feelings of despair represented in this story with his art."

Director Kim Holm adds, "Depression is a deep dark demon filled cave that I've spent too much of my life in, and as I started finding visuals for Sólstafir's hauntingly brilliant Drýsill, life and art seemed to mix in terrible new ways. The lyrics deal with themes of death and abuse that I’ve luckily been spared, but the journey through the underworld seemed to metaphorically mirror each day working on it. I like to believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, but realistically it’s not so for everyone. Drýsill is a statement that for some, there should be no light. Only the end."

Endless Twilight Of Codependent Love was recorded at the Sundlaugin Studio (Iceland), where Svartir Sandar, Ótta and Berdreyminn were also recorded by producer Birgir Jón Birgisson (Sigur Rós, Alcest, Damien Rice). Pre-order here.

The painting is a watercolour of the Lady Of The Mountain, which was designed in 1864 by artist Johann Baptist Zwecker.

NACHTBLUT Release Music Video For New Single "Leierkinder"

NACHTBLUT Release Music Video For New Single "Leierkinder"

“Why should we care
as long as we’re happy
we listen to his melody
we ain’t deaf but blind”

Today, German dark metal torchbearers Nachtblut unveil the second single, “Leierkinder” (engl. Children Of The Lyre), along with an official video, off their upcoming full-length, Vanitas, to be released on October 2 via Napalm Records.

Starting off with an intoxicating, folk-influenced melody and an addictive rhythm, the new single carries its listener to days of yore, while the dark lyrics create a cynical contrast that shapes the overall ambience. Lyrically, the song refers to a fictional village reigned by a god who dictates the citizen’s state of knowledge. Paired with the fleet-footed, folky main melody and Askeroth’s gloomy, invading vocals, the new single “Leierkinder” sends frightening shivers straight to everyone’s core!

Nachtblut on their new single: “We are more than proud to present our new song 'Leierkinder': the catchy melody and chorus features a driving force, that will cause a lot of energy in front and on stage. But there is more than just a happy melody, as the lyrics come with a deeper meaning. It’s about how you define happiness referred to your personal surroundings and experience. Another issue concerns our understanding of satisfaction and our perception of things, which is also controlled by significant outside influences.  Maybe you will take a pause and think about this... or not, but “jeder muss nach dem Liede tanzen, das gerade auf der Walze steht” (engl.: “everyone needs to dance to the tune on the roller”)."

Watch the official video for “Leierkinder” below:

The new album, Vanitas, draws the listener into the band’s musical maelstrom in a classifying Nachtblut manner: hard riffs, Askeroth’s incisive vocals, rousing melodies and profound, candid lyrics.

Songs like “Die Toten vergessen nicht” (engl. the dead don’t forget) shine with an unmistakably dark and orchestral sound that will cause shivers to run down the listener’s spine, while the folk-influenced song “Leierkinder” (engl. children of the lyre) convinces with an addictive rhythms and moving lyrics. With Vanitas, dark metal giants Nachtblut create a symbolic work of art somewhere between transience and infinity.

Pre-order Vanitas here.

Vanitas will be available in the following formats:

- 4 Page Digipak
- Wooden Box: Digipak, Bonus CD, Leather Wrist Band, 4 Coaster, Deck of cards - Ltd. to 500 copies

DEE SNIDER: Why So Many Americans Believe In Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

DEE SNIDER: Why So Many Americans Believe In Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

In a new interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider was asked for his opinion on why so many Americans have balked at the most basic safety measures meant to tame the COVID-19 pandemic, including refusing to wear masks and continuing to gather in large groups. Many have also embraced fringe conspiracy theories claiming that the coronavirus death toll has been exaggerated and that the COVID-19 pandemic is part of a strategy conceived by global elites — such as Bill Gates — to roll out vaccinations with tracking chips that would later be activated by 5G, the technology used by cellular networks.

Dee said (hear audio below): "I've got a couple of really good answers here, I think. My wife made this amazing observation, 'cause we travel so much. And she said, 'You know, the United States is still a young country compared to the other countries in the world.' We're like teenagers. And teenagers are very rebellious: 'You can't tell me what to do.' And that's the American attitude. Countries like [Finland] — European countries — have been established for hundreds and hundreds [of years]. We're two hundred years [old]. You guys are a thousand years since the first man was there, and the culture. So you're a more mature people, and it reflects in European cultures — you see it. Not so much in England, but you see it in Scandinavia, for sure.

"The other thing is that there's this lack of awareness of the rest of the world for most people in America," he continued. "I was on social media saying it would benefit everybody to leave their country, travel and see people and understand other cultures. The world would not seem so strange.

"I talk to young people, and they say, 'Oh, yeah. This is a political thing. When the election is over, it'll be gone.' And this was my niece," he added. "I said, 'But we were down in South America. They have [the pandemic there]. And we were in Europe. They have it. And our African safari was canceled because in Africa they have it.' And she said, 'Oh, they do?' She didn't know that the rest of the world has it. She thought this was in America only.

"America is very selfish — very self-absorbed. And the young people especially don't watch the news. In Europe, you're very connected. The borders are right there.

"People need to experience the world more and understand that they're not the only ones on this planet."

Snider, who lives part time in Belize, a tiny Central American nation nestled beside the Caribbean Sea, went on to say that he was impressed with how coronavirus was handled there.

"A little country [like that is] intelligently recognizing that this is a problem," he said. "And they shut the country down. Very difficult to do, but they were very, very strict, and they kept COVID out. [The U.S. is] this big country — we've got all this money, all this power, and we can't get our shit together. It's ridiculous."

Earlier this month, Snider slammed Donald Trump over his handling of the coronavirus outbreak, saying that the president failed to bring the American people together in a time of crisis.

"We've been at each other's throats," Dee said. "The country's been split in two over so many different things. The political divide has been massive. And [this is when] you're supposed to say, 'You know what? We can argue about these other things and disagree, but this is affecting and hurting all of us. We need to come together and fight this as one people,' as Americans have done throughout history. Yet the president's response, the White House response has been to politicize it and separate us more and make it about politics instead of about joining together and helping each other. So this was an opportunity to really bring the country together over something really important, that rises above all the other B.S. in the world. And he failed to do that, and we're seeing the results."

This past spring, a Yahoo News poll found that 44% of Republicans, 19% of Democrats, and 24% of independents believe that Gates wants to use mass vaccination for the coronavirus to implant people with tracking devices. A few weeks earlier, a Pew Research Center study found out that 29% of Americans believe the virus was made in a lab, though scientific evidence overwhelmingly suggests it's a case of animal transfer.

BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Releases Reworked Version Of His 1990 Solo Song 'Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays)'

BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Releases Reworked Version Of His 1990 Solo Song 'Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays)'

BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward has released a new version of his 1990 track "Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays)", now re-titled "Bombers (The Remake)".

On Tuesday (September 1), Ward shared a lyric video for "Bombers (The Remake)" and included a one-minute clip in which he revealed all the musicians who were involved in the song's recording process.

"Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays)" originally appeared on Bill's debut solo album, "Ward One: Along The Way", which was released in January 1990. The LP featured a number of guest musicians, including then-former BLACK SABBATH frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who sang on "Bombers (Can Open Bomb Bays)" and "Jack's Land".

Ward was on board for the SABBATH reunion when it was first announced nearly nine eight years ago, but backed out soon after. The drummer later claimed that he sat out the recording and touring sessions because of unfair contractual terms, although the members of SABBATH have hinted in other interviews that he wasn't physically up to the task.

All four original members of SABBATH were present when the band announced its reunion in late 2011. But Ward split from the group in 2012, citing an "unsignable" contract, and Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler carried on with their Rick Rubin–produced "13" LP and extensive international touring without him.

Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio during SABBATH's last tour that Ward was not in shape to participate. "Bill Ward has got the most physically demanding job of the lot of us, 'cause he's the timekeeper," he said. "I don't think personally he had the chops to pull it off, you know. The saddest thing is that he needed to own up to that, and we could have worked around it, whether we had a drummer on the side with him or something."

It was rumored that SABBATH wanted to bring a second drummer on the road to share duties with Ward, something that Iommi confirmed in 2017 during a question-and-answer session about SABBATH's "Ten Year War" box set.

In 2015, Ward released his first solo album in 18 years. Titled "Accountable Beasts", the record can be purchased on iTunes.

In November 2017, Ward's band DAY OF ERRORS released its first two songs, "Day Of Errors" and "Blaspheming At Creation", via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and Google Play. Two more tracks, "Dark" and "Ghost Train", followed last fall.

COREY TAYLOR: Why Now Is The Right Time For Me To Release My Debut Solo Album

COREY TAYLOR: Why Now Is The Right Time For Me To Release My Debut Solo Album

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor was a guest on the latest episode of "The Electric Theater With Clown" Internet show hosted by his SLIPKNOT bandmate M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan. You can now listen to the entire chat below.

Speaking about the inspiration for his upcoming debut solo album, "CMFT", Corey said: "This is something that I could have done years ago, I could have done at any other point, but at the time, it didn't make sense to do something like that. Honestly, because I had SLIPKNOT, I had STONE SOUR, for whatever it was worth.

"You know me — the only time I really like to put a focus on myself sometimes is when it's part of the collective, when it's working on something as a group and working on something as a band and working on something that we're gonna be able to hoist up and show to the world."

He continued: "For me, I was absolutely content with bouncing back and forth between SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR, but for the last few years, I've recognized something in myself that really was just getting more and more important for me to show and share, and that was a certain type of music — that kind of all-out rock and roll kind of positive… I don't even wanna say positive, 'cause it's not the right word. There's no real word for what I'm trying to say, so I'll just describe it — this major-chord, big-chorus kind of party vibe, for lack of a better term. And I felt like I didn't have that in my life. It was a reflection of the music that I've been into for many years. It was a reflection of the music that I usually like to do in the cover shows that I do here and there. It was a reflection of the songs that I had been writing over the years that didn't fit with either SLIPKNOT or STONE SOUR.

"It was weird — it was like I was trying to fill in an empty space in that artistic spot in my heart, and I knew that, obviously, there was no way it was gonna fit with SLIPKNOT, because it's just such a different entity. We play in different realms, and our world is huge, but these songs just don't fit — it's not the same kind of artistic flavor. I may have been able to do it with STONE SOUR, but STONE SOUR is so different than what it used to be that I had to just kind of create this third thing that, for lack of a better term, had to be a solo thing. 'Cause if I'd started a third band, it really wouldn't have made any sense. It just made more sense for me, especially at this point in my life, to be, like, 'Okay, I've written all these songs. I did this. The focus is gonna be on me regardless. Even if I put the band together and I do this thing from a band perspective, the focus is gonna be on me. The production is gonna come from my head. Artistically, these are the way the songs, I wanna hear them done.' And I just knew that all of the work was gonna be on me anyway. So it was just a matter of, 'Okay, if I'm gonna carry the load, then it's just gonna be my name, it's just gonna be me.' I'll have friends come in and play with me, but for the most part, it's my project. It's me — it's what I need to do. And the more I was thinking about it, the more I realized that my heart needed it.'

Taylor added: "You know how when you and I are working on pieces of music together that may or may not work with the 'KNOT sometimes, and they become other things that we really try to kind of put out into the world to make sure that they see the light of day, because we wanna share them with people. That's kind of what these songs were. These songs were parts of me that I really wanted to share the world and kind of show the world this other side of my writing style that I'd never been able to show before. So I don't know if it was necessarily a need for me to kind of go out and be solo, but it was definitely one of those things where it was, like, if I do this, I know I'm gonna do all the work. I've already written all the songs. I know the focus is all gonna be on me. There's no reason for me to start another band. At this point, it's gonna be the Corey Taylor show regardless, so I might as well just kind of take the helm and embrace it. It was really as simple as that. It really wasn't because I necessarily needed to be out front more, 'cause I'm out front anyway — with both bands. I've got that more. I've done the work, just as much as anybody else, and I was fine with it. So it really kind of came down to the definition of what the project needed to be, honestly, for it to be taken seriously. And it came down to just me embracing the fact that it was gonna be a solo project."

"CMFT" will be released on October 2 via Roadrunner Records. Taylor recorded the solo effort with his band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (STONE SOUR) on guitar. The LP was completed at Kevin Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER and STONE SOUR, among others.

The first two singles from the effort, "CMFT Must Be Stopped" and "Black Eyes Blue", were released last month and are available on all streaming platforms now. "CMFT Must Be Stopped" is joined by a Djay Brawner-directed music video, which sees Taylor taking the CMFT championship belt as friends such as Marilyn Manson, Lars Ulrich, Rob Halford, Chris Jericho, ZillaKami and more making cameos.

SLIPKNOT recently canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, including the "Knotfest Roadshow", Knotfest UK and Knotfest At Sea, due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

Watch Third Trailer For IRON MAIDEN Guitarist ADRIAN SMITH's Upcoming Fishing Memoir 'Monsters Of River & Rock'

Watch Third Trailer For IRON MAIDEN Guitarist ADRIAN SMITH's Upcoming Fishing Memoir 'Monsters Of River & Rock'

A new three-minute trailer for IRON MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith's upcoming memoir, "Monsters Of River & Rock", can be seen below.

Smith is well known in the community as a fisherman, and a former cover star of coarse-fishing bible the Angler's Mail (biggest chub of the season, August 2009). In his first, very personal, riverside memoir, "Monsters Of River & Rock", Smith takes us with him on his incredible journey, through the highs and lows of life on tour, and on the river-bank, as his fishing gear travels with him across the world.

Adrian got hooked on fishing as a child growing up in East London, plundering ponds and bomb craters on the Hackney Marshes for newts and sticklebacks and catching perch from the Grand Union Canal whilst on outings with his father. Things began to get more exotic when the young angling enthusiast grew up to become lead guitarist in one of the most successful rock bands in history, and started travelling the world playing to many millions of fans. But once a fisherman, always a fisherman. The gear went with him, the fish got bigger, the adventures more extreme.

Welcome to the world of Adrian Smith, as he clocks in to his day job furthering the geographical boundaries of hard rock, and clocks off to explore far-flung rivers, seas, waterways, lakes and pools on his fearless quest for fishing nirvana. His adventures range from his first sturgeon, a whopping 100-pounder from Canada's swirling Fraser River that nearly wiped him out mid-Maiden tour, to a close shave with a large shark off the Virgin Islands whilst wading waist-deep for bonefish. Not to mention an enviable list of specimen coarse fish from the U.K.

Charming, funny, and moving in equal measure, "Monsters Of River & Rock" is the ultimate fishing-fantasy armchair read, and is also the story of a rock star in a fast-moving world who seeks peace and tranquillity at the water’s edge — wherever he is.

"Monsters Of River & Rock" will be released on September 3 via Virgin Books.

Smith was born in Hackney, East London, on February 27, 1957. He joined IRON MAIDEN at the end of 1980. Adrian is the bandmember who has collaborated on the most side projects outside of IRON MAIDEN, as well as writing and recording a series of albums in the early '90s, before rejoining the band. IRON MAIDEN has sold 100 million albums, and tour the world playing to millions of fans. Onstage, Adrian uses Jackson and Gibson guitars. Offstage, he is an avid tennis player. However, his main hobby is fishing. He takes his rod and gear out on tour with him wherever he goes. This is his first book.

ZAKK SABBATH: First Look At 'Vertigo' CD/DVD Artbook

ZAKK SABBATH: First Look At 'Vertigo' CD/DVD Artbook

Early September will see ZAKK SABBATH, the BLACK SABBATH tribute band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE), bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE) and drummer Joey Castillo (DANZIG, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE), release their spectacular tribute to the Birmingham four, a faithful yet supercharged rendition of BLACK SABBATH's first album. Vertigo Records issued the iconic debut album on a Friday the 13th in 1970, and the world was never the same. Legendarily recorded in a single day in October 1969, the earth-moving self-titled set closed the book on hippie optimism with its dark magic and ushered in a brand new genre, setting the metal template for decades to come.

Exactly 50 years later, ZAKK SABBATH celebrate the first chapter in the SABBATH catalog with a reverently rendered tribute, simply titled "Vertigo", which is slated for a release on September 4, 2020, via Magnetic Eye Records. Faithfully recorded in the spirit of the original, live in the studio and with a film crew documenting the process, the session culminated in a new version of a landmark album that celebrates the greatest heavy metal band of all time and the record that started it all.

"We recorded a live EP and were wondering what we could do next as a cover band, so the 50th album anniversary came just at the right time", explains Blasko regarding ZAKK SABBATH's decision to go studio. "Compared to 'Paranoid', which is almost like a best-of record, the bulk of the material on 'Black Sabbath' is deep-cut, really experimental stuff that was never thoroughly explored, so that was a challenge, not to forget that we wanted to meet our own high standards."

Describing the DIY process as "very productive," the three respectfully added their own flair to make for a slightly different flavor, also revisiting various live renditions and "extending a solo here or slowing things down because that's what they tended to do on stage."

ZAKK SABBATH's "Vertigo" won't be available digitally, "to make the release feel authentic to the time when vinyl ruled the earth. It was such a cool time for those of us that grew up during that time. The fan experience with the physical product is irreplaceable with digital and streaming. We wanted to capture that authenticity."

"Vertigo" will be available as a digipak CD, CD/DVD hardcover book with the album behind-the-scenes-interviews and making-of, and as a limited-edition yellow vinyl.

Track listing:

01. Black Sabbath

02. The Wizard

03. Wasp / Behind The Wall Of Sleep / N.I.B.

04. Wicked World

05. A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning

The first look at the "Vertigo" CD/DVD artbook is available below.

Zakk told Rolling Stone about performing SABBATH's classic material: "Going back to high-school keg parties, we'd be playing songs by RUSH, SABBATH, [Jimi] Hendrix, whatever [in a cover band], and one person would sing the RUSH stuff, someone could do THE DOORS, and I'd end up doing the SABBATH or Ozzy stuff. It's hilarious to me, because we were 17 years old playing keg parties at a friend's house and now I'm 53 years old and I'm still playing 'N.I.B.' and SABBATH songs at keg parties, except there's a couple more people."

Adds Philipp Schulte, director of Century Media: "When I started working at Century Media, MISERY INDEX was the first band I suggested to sign right after the release of the 'Overthrow' MCD on the band's own Anarchos Records. Now, many years later, the plan finally worked out. We are excited and very happy to welcome them to Century Media Records."

MISERY INDEX is currently working hard on its seventh studio album, expected to be released in 2021 to coincide with the group's 20th anniversary.

MISERY INDEX's latest album, "Rituals Of Power", was released in March 2019 via Season Of Mist.

MISERY INDEX is:

Darin Morris: guitar

Mark Kloeppel: guitar, vocals

Adam Jarvis: drums

Jason Netherton: bass, vocals
