BUCKCHERRY has recruited JETBOY's Billy Rowe (pictured) as its new guitarist. He joins the group as the replacement for Kevin Roentgen, who left BUCKCHERRY in July.

Roentgen, who joined the California-based band in 2017, made his exit official in a social media post earlier this week. He wrote: "Bottom line, I made this decision to come off the road and spend more time with my family. The guys understood this, and for that I'm thankful. Though my wife and daughter always one hundred percent supported me in this gig, they are quite happy now to have me home."

Roentgen joined BUCKCHERRY as the replacement for original guitarist Keith Nelson. He can be heard on BUCKCHERRY's latest album, "Warpaint", which was released in March 2019 via Century Media/RED Music. The 12-song record was produced by Mike Plotnikoff, whose previous collaboration with the band was BUCKCHERRY's multi-platinum third album, 2005's "15".

Last year, BUCKCHERRY recruited Francis Ruiz as its new drummer. He joined the group as the replacement for Sean Winchester, who exited BUCKCHERRY after laying down the drum tracks on "Warpaint".

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT has released the official music video for the song "That Was Me". The clip, which was directed by Steve Schenck and Richie Castellano, features a cameo appearance from founding BLUE ÖYSTER CULT member Albert Bouchard, playing and singing the parts as he does on the band's upcoming album, "The Symbol Remains".

"The Symbol Remains" will be released on October 9 via Frontiers Music Srl. Coming nearly two decades after the release of the band's last studio LP, "Curse Of The Hidden Mirror", the effort showcases a band which hasn't been slowed by the time passed but is simply unfazed by it. "The Symbol Remains" is said to be one of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT's most spirited, diverse and inspired releases to date.

BÖC is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as METALLICA, and BÖC was listed in VH1's countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Upon the release of BÖC's self-titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-yet-heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. The intense creative vision of BÖC's original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist Danny Miranda, and drummer Jules Radino.

Denver, CO modern metal band Antisaint (formerly known as Red Tide Rising) has premiered a new visualizer for “The Otherside”.

As for the video, lead vocalist, Matthew Whiteman says, “The concept is relatively simple. I wanted to create a space that seemed never ending with elements of horror. As the song goes on, the space becomes more constrained with the addition of the organic substance, veins, or whatever you would call them. I had gathered inspiration from the upside-down world in Stranger Things. With the concept put in place I only had to figure out how to execute it. My time in the Game Design Industry has introduced me to a lot of creative tools, one being the open source 3D modeling software, Blender.”

Regarding the band’s name change, Whiteman explains, “We decided to change the name for several reasons. The first reason was due to our belief that this next step we’re taking with the band will be our defining moment, and in that moment, we do not want to be mistaken with an already known band by a similar name. There has been a lot of confusion by both people in the industry and fans between the two bands.

“Another reason is the fact that Andrew and I were still in our youth and immature when we founded RTR, resulting in us just picking a name that sounded cool. We didn’t really care about what the name meant, we just wanted to play music. With us being older, our music has evolved, and we want to make a career out of it. We now have this opportunity to come up with something meaningful that both resonates with us on a personal level and within our music.

“Finally, the name was being affiliated with things we do not condone or stand for. Between all of these reasons, the unfortunate pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and an unreleased full-length album that sounds dramatically different from anything else we’ve done, it made perfect sense to rebrand and start from scratch.”

With touring sidelined due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, guitarist Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses, Slash's Snakepit) remotely teamed up with bassist Sean McNabb (Dokken, Lynch Mob) and drummer Matt Starr (Mr. Big, Ace Frehley) to record a live version of his new solo single, "The Gospel Truth".

Out now via Golden Robot Records, "The Gospel Truth" is the second single lifted from Gilby’s forthcoming album of the same title, and is about the concept of truth today. The truth is whatever someone says out loud, no one is accountable and it’s puzzling. Reflecting on an upbringing within the Catholic church, Gilby Clarke reflects on the idea that honesty shouldn’t come from fear, and encourages the listener to be brave, say what you mean, and mean what you say.

His previous single "Rock N’ Roll Is Getting Louder", released back in February, is a true stormer of a track in pure Gilby fashion - rock n’ roll doused in the influences that run through Gilby’s veins.

The Brazilian metal band, Hatefulmurder, has released a tribute to Death's "The Philosopher", the classic from 1993’s Individual Thought Patterns. The video was made in a special model due to the social isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The band is a name on the rise, due to the talent and vocal techniques of vocalist Angélica Burns. Currently the band continues to promote the album Reborn, released in late 2019. Reborn is a record that displays every artistic experience acquired over the years. An independent release. Funded by the fans themselves through a crowdfunding campaign. A cohesive, strong, striking album that marks another great moment in the band's career. Made from fan to fan.

Swedish death metal squad Demonical will release a new studio album titled World Domination on October 23 via Agonia Records.

World Domination is a gateway to old and new Demonical. The band's sixth album marks the debut for vocalist Christofer Sätderdal and the return for original drummer Ronnie Bergerstål (2006-2011, 2019-present). There are no major changes to the band's proven formula of brutal, melodic and insolently Swedish death metal. World Domination picks up where 2018's Chaos Manifesto left off, with a touch of extra dynamics and vibrancy that enrich the band's sound.

Demonical commented: "So here we have it, World Domination; our sixth full-length album and the first one to feature new vocalist. Christofer Sätderdal and new-old drummer Ronnie Bergerstål. World Domination continues the same path as our previous Chaos Manifesto slap, in other words, fierce HM-2 driven Swedish death metal, a ravage combination of brutality, melody and darkness. As always on every album, even this time we tried out some new traces and elements we haven’t explored before and have to say that we are stoked about the final outcome. When it comes to the production, this is clearly our most dynamic and vivid album so far. Not only did we use a different way of recording everything, we went also for a much more energetic and breathing sound closer to how albums were produced in the late 80’s and early 90’s. EMN (Every Mother's Nightmare) is set to release a new album this fall via their label HighVolMusic. In addition to the new album, a documentary was also filmed during the recording of the album.

Here's To The Ones is a look at the behind the scene recording process with an in-depth discussion about the album as well as conversation about EMN the band today. 

Prior to the pandemic, EMN began recording their album at Supernova Sound Memphis with producer Dave Cowell and Matt Montgomery. During the recording sessions, the idea of filming a documentary was formulated by label president Bill Chavis.

Bill Chavis explains; "The pandemic proved to be challenging but it also proved to be rewarding in that it gave us the additional time needed to not only complete the album but also film the documentary. I flew down to Memphis, TN ahead of the pandemic in March for a scheduled meeting with the band but also to preview the new material.  I had been toying with the idea of an EMN documentary for some time. When I talked with Dave Cowell and Matt Montgomery about my idea, they were more than accommodating in allowing us to take over the studio. I hired a film crew and it all just came together like it was meant to happen."

Coming this fall, Here's To The Ones is directed by Nick Hein (Station 8 Productions) and Bill Chavis. Album release details plus the new video-single are scheduled for September 18.

Sweden’s Pain Of Salvation have released their new studio album, Panther, via InsideOutMusic. Daniel Gildenlöw checked in with the following message for the band’s supporters about the new release:

On Sunday, August 30th, former Cradle Of Filth keyboardist / backing vocalist Lindsay Schoolcraft held a Facebook livestream and performed songs from her the new harp album, Worlds Away. Check out the entire stream below.

Though coronavirus has forced us indoors, music still flows. In the case of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Schoolcraft, she chose to look back on her gothic metal past and reimagine it in an entirely new light. She has lent her talents to an astounding variety of bands, ranging from Cradle of Filth’s extreme metal to Mary and the Black Lamb’s alt-rock, as well as leading her own project. Last year she released her début solo album, Martyr, which received a Juno nomination in the category of Heavy/Hard Sound Album of the Year.

This year’s project, however, is a different entity. Lindsay has made no secret of her love of playing electric harp, which she has combined with string arrangements for a completely different take on her discography. The result -Worlds Away. Here, she reunites with collaborator Rocky Gray (original drummer of Evanescence, who co-wrote Martyr). His subtle electronic beats add a cinematic tone, such as on “Stranger”, or thundering on album closer "Warn Me". The lilting harp and strings, meanwhile, concoct a fantasy soundtrack atmosphere akin to Loreena McKennitt or Sarah Brightman. Each instrument vies for attention, creating various moods: "Where I Fall" is a strings-driven dark-pop ballad, whereas the harp-tinkling "Masquerade" indulges in musical theater.

Most of the tracks draw from her previous works, but there are two unfamiliar faces. The title track opens the album with Lindsay’s breathy vocals accompanied by her harp. Her singing is a highlight of this record, especially when ascending into the upper echelons during stunning choruses such as on "Fading Star". Many critics have compared her emotive voice to the likes of Sharon den Adel or Amy Lee. The other, "Dance On The Strings", signifies the final completion of a song that had been sitting in her lyric book for over a decade. It deals with toxic manipulation, and the dark strings in the song feel analogous to the strings the narrator can see are controlling the victim.

This record may be worlds away from what you know of Lindsay Schoolcraft, but that works to its credit. The songs sound vibrant, and it is impressive that without listening to the original versions, one would never be able to tell these were re-workings.Worlds Away is simply beautiful and calming, and an excellent way to unwind in these challenging times, while appreciating the talent that has gone into it.

Swedish post-punk multi-instrumentalist songwriter Henrik Palm, who was a member of GHOST from 2015 until 2016, will release a new solo album, "Poverty Metal", on October 16 via Svart Records.

From being hand-picked for Tomas Lindberg's (AT THE GATES) curated Roadburn festival performance to opening for acts like VOIVOD and winning the hearts of well-known fans such as Jacob Bannon (CONVERGE) and Scott Carlson (REPULSION), Palm has been blowing all of us away for good a while now. Everything we're looking for in a fresh and modern genre clash, Henrik's music is catchy, well-crafted, beautiful and ugly in the same intense and challenging moment. Impossible to define, Palm is a perfect reflection of his eclectic tastes and infamously insatiable vinyl collection, fitting Svart's groundbreaking roster perfectly.

Palm moves freely between record collections and worlds. Between KILLING JOKE, CRASS and PSYCHIC TV, but also between HP Lovecraft and Dr. Who. Decibel dubs his sound as "raw rock and roll with a punk edge and a profound sense of weirdness," and his undiscovered terrain lies between the deeply private and the anarchist spiritual, intertwining cronky, angular postcore riffs with kraut and shoegaze influences. The songs lie in the room like a ghost, heavy breathing.

Henrik says: "I love to experiment with weird instruments, tunings and anything that makes the song better, creepier, more beautiful or whatever. Fuck genres. Identity and feeling is more important," and his music is a wildly fresh distortion of conventions.

According to Palm, seventy percent of his musical diet consists of raw punk with some TROUBLE, CELTIC FROST, THROBBING GRISTLE and MY BLOODY VALENTINE to round things out.

Palm is one of four former members of GHOST who filed a lawsuit against the band's founder and main songwriter, Tobias Forge, in 2017. The four musicians accused the vocalist, who performs under the stage names Papa Emeritus and Cardinal Copia, of cheating them out of their rightful share of the profits from the band's album releases and world tours.

In a statement explaining the lawsuit, the ex-members officially revealed their identities as Palm (Eather), Simon Söderberg (Alpha; member of GHOST from 2010 until 2016), Mauro Rubino (Air; member of GHOST from 2011 until 2016) and Martin Hjertstedt (Earth; member of GHOST from 2014 until 2016).

The Swedish-based act underwent a complete overhaul at the end of 2016, when Forge fired the entire lineup and recruited new players.

Forge — who does all the band's interviews as a Nameless Ghoul — has said that GHOST has always been essentially a one-man project, with many session musicians coming and going over its 12-year existence.

KISS frontman Gene Simmons has praised Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his biotech startup Neuralink, saying it "will help millions of people."

On Friday (August 28), Musk unveiled a pig called Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in her brain to demonstrate his ambitious plans to create a working brain-to-machine interface.

"It's kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires," the billionaire entrepreneur said on a webcast.

Neuralink has already applied for human trials, with hopes of launching those experimental runs by the end of this year — if it's approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

If successful, a brain implant like this could revolutionize medicine, Musk said, such as treating brain injuries, depression, addiction and other neurological disorders.

Earlier today, Simmons tweeted: "Greatly admire Elon Musk and his NEURALINK venture. This will help millions of people. Google it."

According to The Verge, the first clinical trials will be in a small number of patients with severe spinal cord injuries, to make sure it works and is safe.

Neuralink, which was founded in 2016, has previously tested an wired version of its implant in rats.

The four members of METALLICA took part in a SiriusXM "Town Hall" Thursday night (August 27) via Zoom from their respective homes. Asked how he has been spending his coronavirus downtime, frontman James Hetfield said: "For me, and I don't wanna sound ungrateful, 'cause I know there's a lot of people out there that are struggling because of this COVID… Where I live, it's all service industry. And, obviously, the music industry, it's tough — it's taken a big hit. For us, we're road dogs — we've been out on the road forever — so you're either on the road or you're writing. So the obvious thing is, 'Well, we're not on the road. Start writing.' So, [I've written] tons of material. And I'm sure there's lots of musicians out there that are just, like, 'Okay, what can I do? I'm gonna write and just get into that,' which I love doing.

"I'd say the other huge thing that's come out of this is getting to stay home in my hometown here [in Colorado], so [I've been] building community with friends, doing outdoor stuff," he continued. "We're pretty fortunate here up in the mountains that COVID hasn't really locked us down as much as some other places. And I feel for the people that live in the big cities. But out here, you can still get out, bike ride, raft, fishing, shooting, hunting — whatever it is.

"I've got lots of friends here that I couldn't have before, so [I've been] hosting barbecues and having people over and building a community with friends that I wasn't really able to do before," he added. "Cause, 'Oh, I can't do that, 'cause we've gotta go next week. We've gotta rehearse. We've gotta do that.' So, [I've] actually [been] taking time to build true friendships. Not that I don't have them, but locally, it's been a huge thing for me. And getting in the garage. I love getting in the garage and just tinkering, doing some more welding. I welded a couple of things for the All Within My Hands foundation… I've made some bird feeders. I'm right now staring out the window at about 50 different birds that come up here and eat. That's kind of my new TV right here. So, just enjoying nature a lot more and enjoying my life the way it is now."

As previously reported, METALLICA will be the first rock band to be featured in the Encore Drive-In Nights series, with a full set showing August 29 at hundreds of drive-in and outdoor theaters across the United States and Canada. The show was shot specially for the Encore Drive-In Nights Series at a location near the band's Northern California headquarters and was subsequently edited and mixed by METALLICA's award-winning production team to the highest standards possible. The concert, the band's first show in nearly a year, will feature material from throughout their near-four-decade career and provide METALLICA fans with an intimate, unique and truly memorable concert experience.

In early May, the four members of METALLICA overcame social distancing to record a new version of their song "Blackened", with each member separated in his own home. The split-screen video was posted to the band's social media channels.

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at five Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May, September and October have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus, Louder Than Life in Louisville and Aftershock in Sacramento.

Reactivated California thrash metal pioneers DARK ANGEL are continuing to work on material for their long-awaited comeback album. The band's first CD since 1991's "Time Does Not Heal" will feature the lineup that has performed sporadic live shows since reuniting in 2013: Gene Hoglan (drums), Eric Meyer (guitar), Jim Durkin (guitar), Ron Rinehart (vocals) and Michael Gonzalez (bass).

Speaking to DEATH ANGEL guitarist Ted Aguilar for the band's "Alive & Streaming" Internet show, Hoglan stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for DARK ANGEL's next disc (see video below): "We are attempting to write another DARK ANGEL record. A bunch of things happened outside the music business that just sapped any sort of time, creativity… The time that I had allotted to spend on, 'Hey, I'm gonna be home for a few months here' kind of thing, 'and I'm gonna write the hell out of DARK ANGEL stuff.' No. I had to take back two months and deal with some stuff that happened outside the biz for me. And so that really just wiped out my creativity.

"Since this lockdown happened, I haven't been able to get up to L.A. [to get together] with Jim Durkin, who is the legendary creator of DARK ANGEL. He's back in the fold now. We did 'Time Does Not Heal' without Jim. But we've always found that we work best together when we're just face-to-face. We both have guitars, and then we bought ourselves a little electronic kit, so I can drop a couple of beats and track over that.

"It's been 31 years since Jim originally left the band," Hoglan added. "Jim really [built for] himself a really beautiful career [outside the music business], so between his schedule [and] my schedule, it has been challenge. But I'm hoping for the best."

DARK ANGEL released two albums with Don Doty on vocals — 1984's "We Have Arrived" and 1986's "Darkness Descends" — before he exited the group and was replaced by Rinehart (after a brief stint with Jim Drabos in 1987). The band issued two more studio LPs — 1989's "Leave Scars" and the aforementioned "Time Does Not Heal" — before calling it quits in 1992.

Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach and STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet have defended KISS after Dee Snider once again criticized Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons for having current KISS members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer dress up as Peter Criss's and Ace Frehley's respective "Spaceman" and "Catman" personas.

In a recent interview with the "Appetite For Distortion" podcast, the TWISTED SISTER frontman said: "I hate what KISS is doing with Ace and Peter's makeup on. I'm not a fan.

"When I left TWISTED and I went out at some point doing TWISTED's music, I never even thought of calling it TWISTED SISTER without the other four guys. Everyone is saying, 'But you're TWISTED SISTER. You wrote the songs.' I said, 'That's not TWISTED SISTER.' And I won't do that out of respect for the other members of the band. I could've made a lot more money doing that, but I would not do that.

"When TWISTED SISTER reunited, the original members — the classic lineup — [bassist] Mark Mendoza walked in, pulled out a gun, put it on top of his amplifier, and picked up his bass. And when people tell me it's tough to put your band back together, my bass player brought a fucking gun to the first rehearsal and openly spoke about hating me.

"I'm a believer that if you're gonna use the brand, you should have the classic lineup — unless someone's dead; then you're excused. You're excused because he's dead. Otherwise, you'd better show up, and it'd better be the original band."

A short time later, radio personality Eddie Trunk responded on Twitter that he "couldn't agree with Dee more on this", adding; "But sadly most fans don't know / care who is or isn't in any band these days and go anyway."

Bach disagreed with Trunk's assertion, tweeting: "Sadly fans go see @kiss anyways? What planet is that on? KISS concerts might never exist ever again! I feel sorry for ANYBODY who was too deluded to miss the last ever KISS Tour on Earth. Your loss! I thank God we went 2 times. @tommy_thayer KICKS ASS!!!! I WAS THERE u were not."

Dee then tweeted: "Here's a question for @TwistedSisterNY fans (I can already hear the none fans screaming 'Who gives a shit!?'): If after I left the band, the remaining members hired a singer and had him wear my makeup, hair style and costume, would you have been cool with that?" Bach, who is friends with Snider, replied: "I wouldn't know if I would be cool with it unless I watch the show then I would know the answer. I thank the Lord Jesus that the last concert I ever went to on this Earth was @kiss with @DavidLeeRoth. Anybody who missed it missed out. I was there".

Trunk then posed a question of his own: "How about this one; if @acdc decided to tour without Angus and put a replacement in a schoolboy outfit would you be cool with that??" He added: "That would be amazingly sad if nobody cared if @acdc played with someone else in the schoolboy outfit. But nothing surprises me. Blows my mind how few care / know who's in bands, or if it's even really live?"

Bach shot back: "How do you know what would be amazingly sad or not? @axlrose was the lead singer on the last @acdc tour + did a great job. What is amazingly sad is someone calling themselves a KISS fan but not bothering to go see the last ever @kiss tour. Then to call people who went sad? #Sad."

Sweet, who often chimes in on controversial topics, offered his opinion on the subject, writing: "I respect what @KISSOnline has done. They built their brand with the makeup and unfortunately two guys didn't play for the team so they replaced them with two guys that would/could. Obviously the majority of fans approve hence sold out shows worldwide;-)"

This is not the first time Snider has blasted Stanley and Simmons for allowing Singer and Thayer to take on the classic personas of their KISS predecessors instead of designing new characters. Back in 2015, Dee told Trunk: "I don't see how people could accept this. Tommy Thayer? I'm sorry. It's insulting. Not only did he play in a tribute band of KISS, he's imitating Ace in his entire act!" Snider went on to bash Thayer for allegedly copying Ace's stage moves. He said: "Oh my God — that's disgraceful. When KISS replaced Ace and Peter, and they brought in guys [Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent] who had their own makeup and their own thing, that was acceptable. That was awesome. They were their own characters."

Stanley got an opportunity to respond to Snider during an interview for Chris Jericho's "Talk Is Jericho" podcast. He said: "Well, let me put it in the simplest terms. In this case, this guy is a wannabe, has always been a wannabe and desperately wants attention and to be taken seriously, and that will never happen because he's obviously clueless that he and his whole band are a bunch of buffoons."

In a new interview with the "My Planet Rocks" show on Planet Rock guitarist Adrian Smith of IRON MAIDEN spoke about the British metal legends expanding to the three-guitarist team of Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers after Janick remained with the band when Smith rejoined in 1999.

Adrian said: "Yeah, it could have gone horribly wrong, couldn't it? I mean, imagine that with three Yngwies [Malmsteen] or three Ritchie Blackmores. It wouldn't work.

"Dave and I go way back. At first, maybe I thought that Jan and I would do half a set each or something. But Steve [Harris, bass] came up with this mad idea. He suggested to them to have three guitarists. I'd like to have been in the room when he said that. But we tried it out.

"We went down to Portugal," he continued. "We started knocking a few ideas together in this warehouse. It was like a motorcycle club; there was all these motorbikes in there. We were all standing and looking at each other, and someone said, 'Anyone got any ideas?' So I said, 'I've got a riff.' So I had 'The Wicker Man', and we started playing it, and it just clicked. So we went on from there."

Although some MAIDEN fans feared that the band's classic twin-axe interplay would be lost in an interminable sea of noodling one-upmanship, Smith says that the three-guitarist setup has gone more smoothly than expected.

"It works out," he said. "Amazingly enough, it works out. In the old stuff, there's so many harmonies, unison solos, riffs — I mean, it's so much work. It actually really works well with three guitars, especially live."

Smith's memoir, "Monsters Of River & Rock", will be released on September 3 via Virgin Books. The book is described in a press release as "the ultimate fishing-fantasy armchair read" and "the story of a rock star in a fast-moving world who seeks peace and tranquillity at the water's edge — wherever he is."

Smith was born in Hackney, East London, on February 27, 1957. He joined MAIDEN at the end of 1980. Adrian is the bandmember who has collaborated on the most side projects outside of IRON MAIDEN, as well as writing and recording a series of albums in the early '90s, before rejoining the band. IRON MAIDEN has sold 100 million albums, and tour the world playing to millions of fans. Onstage, Adrian uses Jackson and Gibson guitars. Offstage, he is an avid tennis player. However, his main hobby is fishing.

SANCTUARY will release the 30th-anniversary edition of "Into The Mirror Black" on October 9.

"Into The Mirror Black", originally released in 1990, is a truly special, much-revered metal record, which received massive critical acclaim back when it came out and is still loved dearly to the very day. Its gloomy atmosphere and thought-provoking lyrics, its brilliant mix borderlining heavy and thrash metal, its stellar guitar work and the expressive vocals of the one and only Warrel Dane are just some of the reasons why this record stood the test of time.

In 2020, "Into The Mirror Black" celebrates its 30th anniversary and while the plans to commemorate this event live with current singer Joseph Michael (WITHERFALL) had to be postponed, these limited triple vinyl and double-CD deluxe editions, created with guitarist Lenny Rutledge, honor the timeless grandeur of "Into The Mirror Black" extremely well and will be released through Century Media Records as strictly limited formats.

Rutledge comments: "We are so excited to finally be releasing this special edition of 'Into The Mirror Black'! The remaster of the original songs sounds awesome and the 1990 'Black Reflections' live concert is finally going to be released in all its authentic live glory. The live material was mixed and mastered by Zeuss and is presented as recorded. No re-recordings or overdubs. Look for SANCTUARY on tour in fall of 2021 playing the entire 'Into The Mirror Black' set. We can't wait to bring the live show to Europe, USA and South America in 2021."

"Into The Mirror Black" was carefully remastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (QUEENSRŸCHE, ICED EARTH, OVERKILL) to make it sound a bit fuller and heavier without losing the original feel and the extra tracks are real gems for SANCTUARY devotees: rhree previously unreleased studio demos (including "I'm Insane") and an entire, newly mixed 10-track live album from 1990, which was only partially released on a rare promo EP.

"The concert from 1990 is a total snapshot in time when the band was at its peak," says Zeuss. "It's captured before the initial breakup which led to Warrel and Jim [Sheppard, bass] forming NEVERMORE. Hearing it brought me right back to the first time I personally saw them."

Apart from its sonic treasures, this new edition also offers tons of rare and previously unpublished photos as well as liner notes from Rutledge and bassist Jim Sheppard, who share memories, good and bad, tour stories and give insight into the creation of this opus resulting in a companion release to 2017's "Inception".

"Into The Mirror Black (30th Anniversary Edition)" will be released as limited LP edition containing three 180-gram vinyls housed in a widespined gatefold sleeve and includes an eight-page LP-sized booklet, and the 2CD format comes in a digipak and slipcase packaging.

Dane died in December 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil at the age of 56. The musician reportedly had a heart attack during the night and could not be revived. At the time of his death, Warrel was recording his posthumously released solo album "Shadow Work".

HOOKERS & BLOW, the project formed by longtime GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Dizzy Reed and QUIET RIOT guitarist Alex Grossi, recently hit the studio to record a covers album, due later this year via Golden Robot Records.

Today sees the arrival of the LP's fourth single, a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Trampled Underfoot".

Grossi comments: "This song was added into our live set during our first residency at the Whisky A Go Go in 2013 for Frankie Banali (QUIET RIOT) to come down and jam on. When it came time to picking songs to cover for this record, naturally we had this one on the list, with Frankie on drums."

The track, which also features Mike Duda (W.A.S.P.) on bass, was recorded individually and mixed largely in quarantine earlier this year.

HOOKERS & BLOW would like to dedicate the release of "Trampled Underfoot" to Banali, who passed away earlier this month after a battle with cancer. A portion of proceeds from this single will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), which is dedicated to fighting the world's toughest cancer.

HOOKERS & BLOW previously released covers of David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust", THE ROLLING STONES' "Rocks Off" and Eddie Money's "Shakin'".

HOOKERS & BLOW's album was produced by Alistair James, who worked with Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp on the latest HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES disc.

In 2013, HOOKERS & BLOW hosted two back-to-back residencies at the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood and in 2018 celebrated its 15th anniversary with two extensive tours, headlining a 25-city "Holiday Hangover" run, as well as supporting THE DEAD DAISIES on their first headline trek of North America.

Over the past 15 years, HOOKERS & BLOW's touring members have included Todd Kerns (SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS), Chip Z'Nuff (ENUFF Z' NUFF), Mike Dupke (W.A.S.P.), Scott Griffin (L.A. GUNS) and comedian Don Jamieson of VH1's "That Metal Show", among others.

In addition to Reed and Grossi, HOOKERS & BLOW's current lineup includes Johnny Kelly (TYPE O NEGATIVE, DANZIG), Robbie Crane (BLACK STAR RIDERS) and Nadja Reed.

British/American metal trio RAVEN has released the official music video for the title track of its upcoming album, "Metal City". The LP is due on September 18 via SPV/Steamhammer as a CD digipak, LP, bundle version with shirt (only at the Steamhammer shop), download and stream.

RAVEN's English brothers John (bass, vocals) and Mark Gallagher (guitar) brothers have dedicated the "Metal City" title track to their former hometown.

"Newcastle upon Tyne has been referred to as 'Metal City' for good reason," they say. "We come from there for a start. But it's about a mindset. The people there have a tenacity and an ability to go beyond the limits to get to where they are going."

It's often small things that can give powerful impetus to a musician's creativity. In the case of USA-based metal trio RAVEN, it was the unanimously positive reactions to their 2015 release "ExtermiNation", and, of course, the arrival of drummer Mike Heller (he joined the fold in summer 2017 to replace Joe Hasselvander, who had left the band due to health issues), which has resulted in an awesome new album.

"Our initial goal was just to raise the bar once more. We did a good job on 'ExtermiNation' and decided we just wanted more of everything next time," John says. "However, things changed once we got Mike on board. Attitude and tempos got revved up a lot! Mike is a ball of energy. He has a good ear and is a big fan of the early albums, especially the crazy feel. He's kicked us into a higher gear where we feel that we can play anything and everything we write with no restrictions."

This past May, John Gallagher told The Metal Voice about "Metal City": "We have had this pain-in-the-ass process of getting the new album. Just about every hurdle or impediments that you can invent got put in the way of it. I think it's gonna blow a lot of people's minds. We've got Mike Heller on drums, who's phenomenal, as people who have seen us over the last couple of years can testify. I guess you can take the live album we put out last year ['Screaming Murder Death From Above: Live In Aalborg'], and that is a good introduction as to what we're gonna be dealing on this new studio album. It's fast, it's crazy, there's a lot of insane playing on it, and we really just went balls out all the way through. We're incredibly happy with it. And so far, the people who have heard stuff are, like, 'Are you fucking kidding me?' [Laughs] So, it's a good reaction to get."

Asked which previous RAVEN album the upcoming effort will be musically closest to, John said: "It's basically as if we time traveled back to 1982 and were doing the album after 'Wiped Out', continuing in that vein. It's got a lot of that sensibility. There's a couple of really, really fast songs. It opens up with a killer one called 'The Power', and then there's a fast one called 'Human Race'. And there's an epic one called 'When Worlds Collide', and some good rock and roll RAVEN-style as well."

Considered part of the "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" movement of the early '80s, RAVEN is perhaps best remembered for its trailblazing tours in America in the early '80s that gave groups like METALLICA and ANTHRAX their first taste of the road.

RAVEN's albums "Rock Until You Drop", "Wiped Out" and "All For One" virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres, with the band consistently pushing the envelope while retaining its unique sound and attack — both in the studio and in their true element: onstage.

Australian guitarist Orianthi (ALICE COOPER, RSO, Michael Jackson) has released a new single called "Sinners Hymn". The track, the lyric video for which can be seen below, is taken from her first new studio album in seven years and her first new music as a solo artist in six years, "O", due on November 6 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Says Orianthi: "The album 'O' is a very inspired album....kept things pretty raw and didn't overthink it. Marti [Frederiksen, producer, mixer, songwriter] and I wanted to create a unique sound and vibe with every track and we experimented a lot with synths and different guitar tones. Lyrically, a lot of this record comes from life experience and other people's stories. It's going to be so fun to play these songs live."

This past April, Orianthi told the "Australian Rock Show" about her upcoming fourth solo album: "I'm so excited about this record — really excited. "We did it in 28 days in Nashville. [I made the record with] Marti Frederiksen, who's a dear friend of mine, an amazing songwriter, producer. I just go out to Nashville, where my management is at, and I love it over there. I made actually my last record too, with Dave Stewart there, at Blackbird [studio]. There's some kind of energy in Nashville — it's just a great feeling when you get there. So many musicians are there. And we just jumped right into the studio. Marti and I wrote and recorded, in 28 days, all the songs. And, yeah, it was just a great, fun experience."

Regarding the musical direction of her new material, Orianthi said: "This record is not too much of a departure from my past stuff, but it is different. So I think people will get what they sort of expect, with that heavy riffage and big solos, but there's a lot of different sounds going on and textures, with drum loops and synths. It's not just staying with one tone throughout the whole record… There's some heavy tracks on there. There's some lighter tracks [and] bluesy tracks. As I said, it's different, but it's kind of what people were sort of expecting.

"The thing is you have to keep on evolving and changing," she explained. "You don't make the same record over and over again; I would just bore the hell out of myself and everyone else. So I wanna keep on changing. And I'm already thinking about the next record right now. Marti+- and I are writing next week for it."

Asked if all the songs for the follow-up to 2013's "Heaven In This Hell" were written specifically for this project or there were some which she had previously written that were later "finessed for inclusion," she said: "A couple were finessed, but pretty much the majority of them were just all written for this record. A song called 'Sinners Hymn', which I had for a minute, I brought that in, and we added the chorus to it, 'cause it had a different chorus, and made it sound a little heavier. And I think that's kind of it. 'Cause the rest of it was just written all for this record. And one was written with Nikki Sixx from MÖTLEY CRÜE, which was amazing. [He wrote] killer lyrics. He e-mailed them to me, and I was, like, 'Woah! These are amazing.' So, yeah, we wrote a song with those lyrics — Marti and I. I'm really excited for everybody to hear this record. And hopefully they dig it as much as we enjoyed making it."

Born in Australia, Orianthi was inspired to learn guitar at a young age after discovering her father's vinyl collection. She rose to international fame at age 24 after the release of her hit single "According To You" and a high-energy performance backing Carrie Underwood at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Although she had already been invited to jam with the likes of Carlos Santana and Steve Vai, mainstream audiences had not previously heard of this captivating guitar prodigy.

Her recognition increased even further when Michael Jackson called with an offer to be his guitarist for his dates at the O2 Arena in London. Although the concert series was not to be, the release of the behind-the-scenes documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It" showcased Orianthi's masterful playing as well as her creativity and collaboration.

The long-in-the-works solo album from QUEENSRŸCHE singer Todd La Torre has been mastered for a late 2020 release via Rat Pak Records. The disc was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with ROB ZOMBIE, ICED EARTH and HATEBREED, among others.

On Monday (August 31), La Torre tweeted: "Listening the final mastered version of my new solo album. Super excited to unveil this in the near future! Stay tuned here, my fb, and make sure to follow @ratpakrecords as well for news and info coming soon."

This past March, Todd said he would use the coronavirus downtime to write or co-write a few more tunes and "shape up existing songs/demos" for his solo album with his lifelong best friend Craig Blackwell. He also said that he and his QUEENSRŸCHE bandmates would take advantage of the time away from the road "to work on new ideas" for the follow-up to 2019's "The Verdict".

La Torre previously talked about his plans to release a solo LP in a 2017 interview with Canada's The Metal Voice. He stated about the direction of the material that will appear on the record: "Musically, it is probably, like, FIGHT meets PANTERA meets BLACK LABEL [SOCIETY]. It's definitely got that kind of southern… You know, PANTERA had that certain power groove — not full-fledged [speed], but has thrash elements. And then vocally, I'm singing probably a lot more chest voice, and then I've got some brutal gutteral vocals on it… That'll be a lot more brutal and more thrash, but the vocals are definitely more a power-metal, operatic kind of a thing — very aggressive…"

QUEENSRŸCHE spent a year touring in support of "The Verdict", which was released in March 2019 via Century Media Records.

"The Verdict" marked QUEENSRŸCHE's third full-length release with La Torre, following the departure of original singer Geoff Tate in 2012.

The current QUEENSRŸCHE lineup features two original members, bassist Eddie Jackson and guitarist Michael Wilton, along with La Torre and guitarist Parker Lundgren.

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor recently performed an acoustic version of one of his two new solo singles, "Black Eyes Blue", for Japanese TV. Video footage of the performance can be seen below.

"Black Eyes Blue" is taken from Taylor's debut solo album, "CMFT", which will be released on October 2 via Roadrunner Records. Taylor recorded the effort with his band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (STONE SOUR) on guitar. The LP was completed at Kevin Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER and STONE SOUR, among others.

"I love what I've done in the past, I love the projects that I've been attached to, but this, honestly, was probably the most enjoyable album that I've done since the first SLIPKNOT album," Corey told Kerrang! magazine. "There was such a sense of, 'We're doing it together.' I hadn't felt anything like that for a really long time, man. People grow apart, relationships become fractious… people stop liking each other sometimes, in certain bands, you know? But with this, it was totally different, because we were all friends before that. We just happened to all play together, and then we formed a band around that friendship, and it all really galvanized it.

"This has definitely made me appreciate making music again, let's put it that way," he added.

On "Black Eyes Blue", Taylor's vocals soar with nostalgia, while on the other new single, "CMFT Must Be Stopped", his rhymes recall his work on SLIPKNOT's debut record and run alongside bulletproof bars from multi-platinum artist Tech N9ne and U.K. MC Kid Bookie. The track is joined by a Djay Brawner-directed music video, which sees Taylor taking the CMFT championship belt as friends such as Marilyn Manson, Lars Ulrich, Rob Halford, Chris Jericho, ZillaKami and more making cameos.

"I was talking to my wife about this the other day — I was, like, 'Fuck! There's nobody for me to hide behind!'" Corey told Kerrang! "It's easy to take risks when you have the benefit of a well-established name — and by that, I mean the bands that I've been in for 20 years. But I also feel like I've earned the right to put something out there and throw people for a loop — not only with the things that I've done with both bands, but the guest spots that I've done with several bands: everybody from TONIGHT ALIVE to Zakk Wylde to Tech N9ne. I mean, I've really spread out, in a cool way. I've never sequestered myself to one corner of the genre; I've never allowed myself to be painted into a corner. And I think because of that, people's minds are a lot more open when they hear that I'm putting something out. They're gonna come into it with this mindset of, 'Okay, I don't know what the fuck I'm about to hear. This should be interesting. I think by doing that, that really sets the tone for your career."

Taylor previously worked with Tech N9ne on a song called "Wither" in 2015, and with Kid Bookie on a reworked version of the rapper's track "Stuck In My Ways" last year.

SLIPKNOT recently canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, including the "Knotfest Roadshow", Knotfest UK and Knotfest At Sea, due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

On October 2, death metal veterans SIX FEET UNDER will release their 17th full-length album, "Nightmares Of The Decomposed", via Metal Blade Records. The official lyric video for the disc's first single, "Amputator" can be seen below.

Vocalist Chris Barnes comments: "Working again after 25 years writing an album with my old bandmate from CANNIBAL CORPSE, Jack Owen [guitar], was like coming home...To a room full of dead bodies. Jack's writing and riff work on this album gave me the fuel to write some disturbing lyrics and really set my creative mind on fire."

Comprised of 12 tracks, "Nightmares Of The Decomposed" is a defining statement, making it very clear that more than twenty-five years into their career, SIX FEET UNDER remain at the forefront of the genre. Dynamic, heavy as hell, catchy, and uncompromising, it is everything that the band's longtime faithful have come to expect from the deadly unit, and is clearly the product of a lot of hard work by Barnes, guitarists Owen and Ray Suhy, bassist Jeff Hughell and drummer Marco Pitruzzella.

Tracked at various studios, including Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida, which over the years has played host to the likes of AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH and AEROSMITH, among others, it was produced, engineered and mixed by Chris Carroll, who has given it a full and chunky feel. The album's mastering was handled by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver, Colorado. The finished product comes packaged in artwork by Luke Hunter and is packed with songs that will sound great live, and will sit comfortably alongside the classics already filling out their set lists, helping to drive the band ever closer to their fourth decade of existence.

Former GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum has released a music video for his solo cover version of the Tom Petty classic "I Won't Back Down".

Sorum uploaded the clip to his Instagram account and wrote in an accompanying message: "I made this video in the desert near Pioneertown when thinking and speaking with my good friends and partners in Brazil .

"Brazil is like a second home to me and I traveled there often before the pandemic to work on projects with my company @sthorm.io Since then we have moved our @viralcure.global project into working on COVID-19 and supporting @hospitalhcfmusp We started the crowd funding space and raised much needed funds to help with the situation and medical supplies.

"Please support if you can. We're all in this together more than ever.

Back in 2014, Sorum released a solo album, "Stratosphere", under the moniker MATT SORUM'S FIERCE JOY on Rok Dok Recordings via Kobalt Label Services. The LP was described as a major departure from the hard-hitting rock Sorum is best known for.

Sorum told The Street that he was inspired to make "Stratosphere" by his love of "many diverse artists." "I was a huge Joni Mitchell fan; I remember listening to a lot of her records back to back," he said. "Neil Young, Tom Petty, THE BEATLES, of course, and I was a huge [David] Bowie fan. I was also into progressive stuff, like early GENESIS, Peter Gabriel era. You can hear that influence on the album; there are a couple of songs that have some interesting time changes.

"I've always dabbled on the acoustic guitar, and I wrote a couple songs for VELVET REVOLVER. In GUNS N' ROSES, Axl [Rose] and Slash looked to me for arrangements. I wasn't the predominant songwriter, but I've always been involved in the process."

Sorum's autobiography, "Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'N' Roll Stories From The Drummer Of Guns N' Roses, The Cult, And Velvet Revolver", which was previously due in April and was subsequently pushed back to early July, will now arrive in 2021.

Sorum, who replaced Steven Adler in GUNS N' ROSES, recorded the highly successful albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (both 1991) and "The Spaghetti Incident" (1994). He also supported the group on the "Use Your Illusion" tour and can be heard on GUNS N' ROSES' "Live Era: '87-'93" (1999) and "Greatest Hits" (2004).

Sorum has said in the past that a GUNS reunion tour should have included both him and Adler, with each playing the songs they recorded with the group. Sorum was inducted as a member of the band into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012.

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman will release his new solo album, Tokyo Jukebox 3", in Japan on October 21.

Earlier today, Marty revealed the LP cover artwork via his social media, and he included the following message: "Just like everyone, I've had a real tough time dealing with 2020. We all suffered from a massive lack of fun this year, so I made it my mission to make feel-good, serotonin-level-raising music of the highest order, stuff that will hopefully kick you all in the feels, and hard.

"Making the album during a pandemic had its hellish challenges, but everyone is facing hardships now, so I was just thankful to have such cathartic work to do.

"Guitar fans will notice, and hopefully enjoy, some pretty cool updates to my guitar sounds. I've discovered that when you take off all spatial effects like reverbs and delays, your solo expressions can often live and breathe more, and have an urgency and unique attack to them, that I'm really digging."

Three weeks ago, Friedman told Bob Nalbandian of the "Shockwaves/HardRadio" podcast that he was putting the finishing touches on his new solo album. Asked what fans can expect to hear on the follow-up to 2017's "Wall Of Sound", Marty said: "Any record that I do, as you know, as everybody who listens to my stuff knows, it's gonna be — at least in my opinion — one step further, deeper, more, above, whatever it is; just a new step farther ahead, advanced — just something I've never done before. And I've had the luxury of much more time and much more of other people's time as well.

"Usually, it's really hard to track down and nail down members and studio people," he explained. "You really wanna have your 'A team,' but sometimes the 'A team' is very busy. But now it's been a lot easier to get people on board who are usually really, really busy, so scheduling has been just a breeze. And [I] love that."

Released in Japan in 2009 and 2011, respectively, "Tokyo Jukebox" and "Tokyo Jukebox 2" — the ninth and eleventh chapters in Friedman's influential solo discography — featured energetic instrumental covers of Japanese pop (J-Pop) songs that can be enjoyed by anyone with a sweet tooth for melody, and captured Friedman's passion for the music of his adopted home country — although, as he warned in the liner notes, "I took the liberty of destroying and reconstructing them my own way."

Featuring Jeremy Colson (STEVE VAI, BILLY IDOL) on drums, "Tokyo Jukebox" featured reconstructed covers of J-Pop and J-Rock hits selected by readers of Japan's top entertainment magazine. "Tokyo Jukebox 2", meanwhile, was recorded in Los Angeles at The Village (AEROSMITH, KISS), and featured guest performances by Jason Bittner (OVERKILL, SHADOWS FALL) and Keshav Dhar (SKYHARBOR). The albums featured tracks originally performed by acclaimed Japanese acts such as MR. CHILDREN, SMAP, PERFUME and MAXIMUM THE HORMONE.

As previously reported, Marty's long-awaited documentary, titled "Spacefox", will tentatively arrive in 2021. The film, which is being directed by Jeremy Frindel, the founder of Substratum Films, follows Friedman's reinvention from lead guitarist in MEGADETH to one of the most famous TV personalities in Japan.

This past June, Friedman released a "Home Jams" version of his song "Self Pollution", which originally appeared on "Wall Of Sound". The new rendition of the song features Friedman, along with his longtime bandmates Kiyoshi (bass) and Jordan Ziff (guitar), plus Anup Sastry (drums). The split-screen video was filmed in Tokyo, Osaka, Phoenix and Baltimore, with each musician separated in his or her home.

Friedman's latest record, "One Bad M.F. Live!!", came out in October 2018. The album was recorded in Mexico City on April 14, 2018 during the final concert of Friedman's world tour in support of "Wall Of Sound".

"Wall Of Sound" was released in August 2017 via Prosthetic Records.

Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens says that the debut album from KK'S PRIEST is currently being mixed.

KK'S PRIEST is Owens's collaboration with founding PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing and ex-PRIEST drummer Les Binks. The band, which pays homage to Downing's past, is rounded out by guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE) and bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX).

KK'S PRIEST's debut LP will be released via Explorer1 Music Group. The group will also play select shows to mark the 50th anniversary of PRIEST and Downing's career as a founding member. KK'S PRIEST's setlist will consist of PRIEST classics and new songs.

Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 and recorded two studio albums with the band — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before PRIEST reunited with Rob Halford in 2003.

Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.

Last year, Downing said that he reached out to JUDAS PRIEST about taking part in the band's upcoming 50th-anniversary tour but that their response was that they were not interested in including him in the celebrations.

In 2018, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."

Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from touring.

Downing, Binks and Owens performed a full-length set of PRIEST classics with MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson in November in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. Joining them on second guitar was Mills of HOSTILE, the British metal band whose two albums, "Eve Of Destruction" and "The New World Disorder", were both produced by Downing.

Binks played drums on PRIEST's "Stained Class", "Hell Bent For Leather" (released as "Killing Machine" in the United Kingdom) and "Unleashed In The East" albums.
