DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno has offered an update on the band's follow-up to 2016's "Gore" album, which was recently recorded for a tentative late 2020 release. Speaking to Tim "Herb" Alexander for the PRIMUS drummer's "Herb's Happy Hour" show, Chino said (see video below): "We have a record that we finished maybe — I don't know — about a month ago, we finally got all the final mixes of it. It's supposed to come out in, I think, September. But we're really happy with it. We worked with one of our longtime producer buddies, Terry Date, who did our first three albums. We hadn't done a record with him in a while, and we went back in the studio with him, and it was super awesome.

"It's kind of been weird, because we recorded everything — the music stuff — all last summer in L.A., and then we have been working on overdubs and vocals and mixing and all that stuff since then, so it's almost been a year," he continued. "But, obviously the last six months have kind of been doing everything remote [due to the coronavirus pandemic]… Mainly, it was just me. All the music stuff was done, so just mainly vocal stuff, and then mixing and mastering, going back and forth. But we finally finalized everything, I wanna say a few weeks ago, maybe a month ago now. It's gonna be sweet. I'm excited about it."

Moreno previously told Apple Music about DEFTONES' decision to reconnect with Date for the new album: "We've always wanted to go back and make records with him again… We love Terry. He's pretty much been there since the beginning of us making records, and we just vibe with him really good. I mean, he's super easy-going. He's not a producer that is in there trying to push his ideas into what we're doing other than just capture what it is that happens when we get together, as well as speaking up and telling us when stuff isn't where it should be or whatever. So he's just a great dude, and making this record with him was awesome. I think our main goal was to make sure that everybody in the band was involved, to an extent. I think our best records are when we're all firing on all pistons, each one of us individually and collectively. So that was, I think, the only thing that we aim for, really."

This past May, DEFTONES postponed their 2020 North American tour due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe. The Live Nation-produced 20-date trek with GOJIRA and POPPY. was scheduled to kick off on July 27 and conclude on September 5.

DEFTONES have released eight studio albums to date and have sold over ten million albums worldwide.

DEFTONES is Moreno, drummer Abe Cunningham, programmer Frank Delgado, guitarist Stephen Carpenter and bassist Sergio Vega.

"Gore" bowed at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2016, moving over 71,000 units first week and marking DEFTONES' highest chart position in 13 years. The band also curated, launched, presented and headlined its own festival, Dia De Los Deftones, in 2018. Selling out both installments to date, the eclectic lineups hosted everyone from FUTURE and CHVRCHES to GOJIRA and MEGAN THEE STALLION.

In a new interview with Ultimate Guitar, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider was asked for his opinion on the 'current trend" of bands who come out of retirement for a new tour, such as MÖTLEY CRÜE and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. "I think it's bullshit," he said. "When you say farewell... RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE breaks up — that's not retirement. They broke up, and they reformed, and that's great. But when you do a farewell tour, and you announce this, and you sell tickets, and you have a t-shirt that says 'No More Tours' — thank you very much, Ozzy [Osbourne], I bought one of those — and then you come back, that's bullshit. So when you say, 'We're retiring,' people now don't take it seriously. So, you know, it's like a joke, and I think that a part of it is that these artists have nothing else going on. And I realize that — without playing, they have no career.

"I have done so many things — I mentioned Broadway, I've been doing radio for 30 years now, voiceover work, I act, I write screenplays, I'm gonna be directing my first two movies, I was supposed to be directing in May but COVID stopped that; I just finished my first novel," he continued. "And now, in the late stage of my life, I've found my voice, my place in the metal community. After a lot of attempts over the last couple of decades, I've finally found my place. So, if I do anything musically, I'm not gonna go backward; I'm going to continue forwards with Dee Snider for the new millennium, musically."

This past March, Dee told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" that he had "no plans" to perform with TWISTED SISTER ever again. "I've heard people [talk about it], and I just shrug my shoulders," he said. "The idea of being a hundred on that stage terrifies me.

"I created a persona and a performance level for myself that I painted myself into a corner," he continued. "And there's a standard that people expect and that I expect of myself. And honestly, I'm afraid of hurting myself because my ego is too big to not thrash about.

"I quietly walked away last summer, and I'm doing some KINGS OF CHAOS things this year.

"I've got no plans on the horizon," Dee reiterated. "And just the idea of a bunch of lumbering old dudes on a stage... I'm not impressed with a lot of the reunions. I won't name names, but one that's out there has been performing for way too long in their reunion, and they stand there at their microphones with virtually no movement at all. I was stunned to see a band that used to be all over the stage just standing there frozen in place… For my money, that's not the memory I want people to have of me and TWISTED SISTER.

"So, I have no plans. People say, 'Never say never.' But there's nothing on the horizon."

In 2016, TWISTED SISTER embarked on one final trek, titled "Forty And Fuck It", in celebration of its 40th anniversary. These shows featured the band's "core lineup" of Snider, guitarist Jay Jay French, guitarist Eddie Ojeda and bassist Mark Mendoza, along with drummer Mike Portnoy. The band's last-ever concert took place in November of that year — 20 months after the passing of TWISTED's longtime drummer A.J. Pero.

TWISTED SISTER's original run ended in the late '80s. After more than a decade, the band publicly reunited in November 2001 to top the bill of New York Steel, a hard-rock benefit concert to raise money for the New York Police And Fire Widows' And Children's Benefit Fund.

A year ago, French said that he was that "blissfully retired" from playing music. "I walked off stage at the last show in Mexico, and I gave all my guitars away to my crew," he told the "Neil Jones Rock Show". "I said, 'Guys, thank you. It's been great. See you later.' I never looked back. We didn't even meet in the lobby and have a drink. I was off stage in a golf cart with my wife on the way to the hotel. I was on a plane and out of here."

French said that he played nine thousand shows with TWISTED SISTER and he "loved every bit of it." But he understood when people told him that they don't believe the band is completely retired.

"I never said we weren't coming back," he explained. "We retired for a while. And I said, 'No, I'm not gonna say never.' We could. Maybe there's a charity [event that we could play at]. Maybe there's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. I doubt it, but maybe. Whatever. It could happen. But at this point in my life, I don't think about it."

David Lee Roth says that he doesn't know if Eddie Van Halen will ever tour again.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding the VAN HALEN guitarist's supposedly worsening health, including a fall 2019 report from TMZ stating he is battling throat cancer. According to the gossip site's story, Van Halen has been traveling between the U.S. and Germany for treatment going on several years now.

Asked in a new interview with The New York Times if he thinks VAN HALEN will ever tour again, Roth said: "I don't know that Eddie is ever really going to rally for the rigors of the road again. I don't even want to say I've waited — I've supported for five years. Because what I do is physical as well as musical and spiritual — you can't take five years off from the ring. But I did. And I do not regret a second of it. He's a band mate. We had a colleague down. And he's down now for enough time that I don't know that he's going to be coming back out on the road. You want to hear the classics? You're talking to him."

Last October, Eddie stopped by a McLaren dealership in Beverly Hills and mingled with the sales team, taking pictures and even giving one fan a kiss. A week earlier, he was photographed at a TOOL concert in Los Angeles.

A rep for Van Halen had no comment on TMZ's initial report when reached by Fox News.

In early 2019, rumors were rampant that the classic-era lineup of VAN HALEN would reunite for the first time since 1984. It's unclear why the tour didn't happen, though there has been online chatter that a health setback involving Eddie Van Halen might have been responsible.

VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

This past March, Roth postponed the final six shows of his Las Vegas residency due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Roth performed as the opening act for the February/March North American leg of KISS's "End Of The Road" farewell tour.

Back in September, Roth said that there were no plans for VAN HALEN to do anything for the foreseeable future. "I think VAN HALEN's finished and this is the next phase," he said, referring to his solo project.

In a new interview with the "80's Glam Metalcast" podcast, WARRANT guitarist Joey Allen spoke about the band having to postpone its "Cherry Pie" 30th-anniversary tour due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

He said (hear audio below): "We got into this business because we love music, we're fans of music and we love playing music. And we were fortunate enough to have a great songwriter in the band back in the day and get some success. So now our whole goal is to get out there and play and have it be fun for people and have people have a great time. And there's nothing about having a great time if you get sick. So, to be honest with you, that's the most important thing to us — is just to kind of wait until we see what goes on with possibly a vaccine or if it's mitigated a little bit more in areas."

He continued: "Right now, we don't have any large outstanding plans to tour; we're just kind of sitting back and waiting until… We're definitely not gonna be the first guinea pigs, let's put it that way. Just because there's too much at stake, man. So, [WARRANT's] 'Cherry Pie' [album] turns 30 in September, and hopefully next year will be a good year for us. We may get some dates in this year, but the most important thing is the health of our fans, our crew, the people that work at the shows and everybody involved."

This past May, WARRANT guitarist Erik Turner told the "Talking Metal" podcast that the group was "throwing some ideas around" for a new LP. He said: "I've been sending Robert [Mason, vocals] some riffs, and Robert's been working on songs. I've got a song going with Jerry [Dixon, bass]. So it's a slow, long process for us, but the seed of a new record has been started. Now, that doesn't mean the seed will grow into a record. We've got a long way to go. We don't have one finished song. We've got a couple of things cooking, and we're actually sending ideas around back and forth to each other."

WARRANT's latest album, "Louder Harder Faster", was released in May 2017. The disc was recorded with producer Jeff Pilson — a veteran bassist who has played with DIO, FOREIGNER, DOKKEN and T&N, among others — and was mixed by Pat Regan, except for the song "I Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink", which was mixed by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, PRONG, LAST IN LINE).

Back in 2018, Turner told the "Let's Talk" radio show that he and his bandmates still enjoy the recording process. "Playing live is a lot funner, but it feels good to create new music," he said. "A lot of bands from our genre aren't creating new music nowadays, and if they do, they put out four or five songs because of the musical environment we're in, but if we're going to do one song, we might as well do fourteen."

Mason replaced original WARRANT frontman Jani Lane in 2008 and has brought a degree of stability to the band after Lane's unceremonious departure and subsequent 2011 death.

WARRANT is rounded out by original member Steven Sweet (drums).

On Saturday, July 18, music fans worldwide who are tired of intimate bedroom livestream performances can experience rock 'n' roll the way it should be with a special, one-night only, free full production virtual arena show by rock band BUSH. If the state of today's society is reflected in music, VENOMOUS CONCEPT has returned to the stage with a fitting soundtrack. The band's fourth full-length frontal assault, "Politics Versus The Erection", manifests a no-nonsense and outspoken voice, resonating with the chaos that reigns over the world today.

Starting out in 2004, the band was conceived as something like a grind punk supergroup — if that term can even be applied to a bunch of people with clear counterculture preferences. The name was chosen to pay homage to the legendary POISON IDEA.

At the core of VENOMOUS CONCEPT, you will find BRUTAL TRUTH vocalist Kevin Sharp and Shane Embury, the iconic bass player of NAPALM DEATH. The two musicians had bonded over beer and pizza as well as their mutual love of punk heroes such as BLACK FLAG, SYSTEMATIC DEATH, GBH, SIEGE, and, of course, POISON IDEA.

The duo soon set about plotting its own assault on the style. Armed with bucketloads of coffee, the pair roped in Danny Herrera of NAPALM DEATH on drums, as well as MELVINS guitarist Buzz Osborne. A record deal was signed with Mike Patton and VENOMOUS CONCEPT's first album, "Retroactive Abortion" (2004) was followed by a split-CD with Japanese grind band 324 (2006) and another in 2008 with BLÖOD DÜSTER.

Buzz Osborne eventually went on a hiatus, but he never really left and there is always a chance for his return — schedules permitting. Shane switched to guitar when longtime friend Dan Lilker (BRUTAL TRUTH, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, ex-ANTHRAX) joined on bass. Next, VENOMOUS CONCEPT brought in John Cooke of CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR on second guitar for touring. Sophomore full-length "Poisoned Apple" hit the stores in 2008.

A quiet spell followed, but the band returned fully charged and ready for attack with their third record "Kick Me Silly - VC III" in 2016, which saw VENOMOUS CONCEPT continue in their trademark grindcore punk style. Following a European tour with BRUJERIA in 2019 and several festivals shows, the musicians headed back into the studio to write and record their fourth album.

With over 30 minutes of short, sharp musical blasts, venomous lyrics, satirical animations, and by offering their candid views, VENOMOUS CONCEPT has again created a record that breathes a true hardcore punk spirit.

In times of lockdown and concert bans, two bands have come together that at first glance could not be more different: Eisfabrik and Schattenmann proved last year with their remixes of "And Nothing Turns" and "Schwarz = Religion" that opposites attract.

In view of the current crisis, Gerrit Thomas from Eisfabrik and Frank Herzig from Schattenmann have joined forces in a remix battle to support each other in these difficult times for musicians. The result is two hits that should not only work in their own genre, but also in that of the other band:

Simon Collins has literally spent his life immersed in music. Inspired by his legendary father, the one and only Phil Collins, Simon picked up the drumsticks at a very early age. And like his dad, his creativity and musical instincts eventually led him to the piano, where he began penning original material. Collins’ diverse tastes and burgeoning interest in songwriting weren’t reflected in some of the earlier bands in which he played, bands far more interested in simply utilizing his undeniable strength behind the drum kit.

Collins has been grappling with heady subjects while writing his new album. He can spend hours discussing astronomy, cosmology, and quantum physics. He loves a good conspiracy theory too, but the rollercoaster that we all face as we become human, is the focus of the album's theme. The album ultimately is a conversation about surrender, renewal, uplift, and mortality. Not surprisingly, the album is called Becoming Human.

Collins paints with a range of emotional colors on Becoming Human. "I'm proud of these new songs," says Simon. "They reflect the person I am, the person I’m becoming, the person I'm striving to be. Writing songs on ”becoming," not just “being” is a powerful tool, it’s about evolving in time and space. The music is generous, intimate, openhearted. There's a lot of me living in these songs. They're deeply personal for me or anyone listening that has been through those experiences of fear, love and hope. The joy of freedom, of acceptance and forgivingness. Of figuring out who I am or anyone is, and how we relate to the world. What is really going on? What is the truth behind the truth?"

"Maturing as an artist and human being has enabled me to find my own voice and confident musical direction no matter what people say," explains Simon. Growing up on tour around being his Genesis, Simon naturally gravitated towards the drums as a child. "It's part of my musical DNA," he explains. As a teenager, he also became proficient on the guitar and the piano, which is how he usually writes. As children of famous parents often do, Collins has grappled with core questions about the meaning of success and failure. It also took years for Simon to create his own identity through his music, and he now looks out onto a wide scope of opportunity he has created for himself through much hard work and dedication.

Of the album, Simon says, "This body of work reflects a deep, wild existential journey and sonic evolution. The soundscape explores a progressive fusion of electronic and rock Influences, a cross-pollination of genres melding space atmospheres and ambient moods with progressive pop song craft, creating a futuristic progressive sounding album."

Guest musicians on the album include original Sound Of Contact guitarist Kelly Avril Nordstrom, the outstanding bass player Gaz Williams, and lastly guitarist Robin Boult. Robbie also brought his bespoke keyboard and sound design to the mix. Simon plays some keys too, along with drums and of course, all vocals. Being Phil Collins’ son, Simon naturally gravitated towards the drums as a child. "It's part of my musical DNA," he says.

"Robbie and I collaborated on many of the songs, the album also features co-writes with Dave Kerzner and Kelly Avril Nordstrom on songs I initially brought to the mountain of material earmarked for the second Sound Of Contact album," adds Simon.

Becoming Human is Simon's fourth solo release, following his debut All Of Who You Are (2000), sophomore effort Time For Truth (2005), and his third album U-Catastrophe (2008). In 2010, Collins co-founded the critically acclaimed band Sound of Contact. Featuring Simon on lead vocals and drums, the rest of the band included keyboardist/co-producer Dave Kerzner, guitarist/bassist Kelly Nordstrom, and bassist/guitarist Matt Dorsey. The band received the Limelight Award (essentially "Best New Band") at the Progressive Music Awards in 2013. Their debut album, Dimensionaut, ended up being the fastest selling debut album by any band in the 20 year history of InsideOutMusic.

With the wind from their debut EP still strong under their wings, modern metal duo Behind The Horror prepare to release their first full length album, Burn Up This Truth. Their campaign of carnage will unleash its full wrath onto the world on August 10 and will demonstrate the full power of Behind The Horror.

After much success from their debut EP ...And The Horror Begins, Behind The Horror put pen to paper, fingers to frets to write the album that would present to the world their full range of capabilities. They released their first single, "Storm Rage" in late 2019 to test the waters and had great response. Watch a lyric video below.

Behind The Horror is from Brazil, but based in New Jersey, led by brothers Gabriel and Lucas Alves on guitar and drums. An emerging band influenced by Metallica, Sepultura, Death, and Dream Theater. Behind The Horror has taken those legendary sounds and infused them with its own unique take on heavy music to create rock with worldwide potential. The brothers had already played many shows and festivals in Brazil and the time felt right to take a leap of faith and pursue the dream they’ve shared since childhood.

STITCHED UP HEART singer Alecia "Mixi" Demner spoke to the KLAQ radio station about her band's upcoming August 13 appearance in Sturgis, South Dakota as part of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The rally is reportedly going ahead as scheduled, but with a few changes, including the elimination of the opening ceremony, contests, tower for photos and other large events.

Asked how she and her bandmates will handle the social distancing part of playing a rock concert, Mixi said (see video below): "I have no idea. Obviously, it's the only festival of the year. And I think we're a little nervous. We have a couple of people that have health issues in our team, and we don't want to put anyone in danger, even in our band. So it's a little scary. We're just taking everybody's advice and seeing what the best option is for that.

"I have no idea what's gonna happen with that show; I mean, it's still a month away," she continued. "So we're just kind of playing it by ear. Maybe there'll be a miracle drug before then and everything will be good. I also don't wanna promote people being unsafe and being part of the problem; we wanna be the solution, too. So it's, like, I don't know what to do. [Laughs] I really wanna play a show, though. So it's really confusing. We're just taking it a day at a time. As of now, we're playing it. And we'll see what happens."

According to Mixi, not having all the details ironed out a month before a show is not that unusual for her and the rest of STITCHED UP HEART.

"Being a band, we're conditioned to kind of fly by the seat of our pants and handle things as they come at us every day — it's literally a day at a time," she said. "Like, a tour will pop up, and [we'll be, like], 'Okay, how do we get to that tour last minute?' We've had stuff like that happen all the time. So this isn't something totally shocking to any musician. I mean, there's a lot of crew that really rely on this stuff that I feel really bad for. The big, big, big bands, I think it's gonna be a lot more challenging to get as many people into an arena, unless it's cut in half or something. But for our size, it is possible to play shows at half-capacity venues and stuff like that. We're not METALLICA. [Laughs] I just really want it to all go kind of back to normal."

About 490,000 people attended last year's 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

"I've been posting about politics a lot lately, so I want to take a minute and share a little music. I recently came across another old school tape cassette with a few soundboard recordings of Manhole└A while we were on the October Rust tour with Type O Negative (RIP PeterSteele) way back in the day. These 8 songs were recorded hard, fast & loud...live at Elysée Montmartre in Paris, France on 12.15.96.

Each track has been digitized from cassette to wave files for this album which is a free download and my gift to you to add to your Manhole / TuraSatana / MyRuin collection of recordings. It's been fun revisiting these recordings after so many years. I hope you feel the same way I do. Please share with anyone you know who might enjoy this walk down my rock memory lane with you!

No matter what incarnation my various projects take (from hip hop to heavy metal) when it comes to my art, I will always stay true to myself and follow my heart. Thank you for continuing to be with me on my musical journey from past to present day. May we never grow apart."

As was to be expected, glam rock band John Diva & The Rockets Of Love will not be totally untouched by the restrictions of the Corona pandemic.

Following their successful debut album, Mama Said Rock Is Dead (top 25 of the German album charts), and lots of celebrated shows in the wake of its release, their autumn 2020 tour has had to be moved to spring 2021, with the added bonus of a number of additional shows. Tickets already bought will remain valid.

Frontman John Diva comments on the postponement: “My esteemed friends, it never rains but it pours and you’ve probably been expecting it. Even the almighty Diva must bow to the pressures of reality. We are forced to postpone the release of our second album American Amadeus as well as the corresponding tour. I know that your lives now seem almost pointless but please dry your tears: we will come back next year, stronger, even prettier and hotter than hell. 2021 will be a new beginning: we`ll meet again to laugh and lie in each other's arms and rock out like there's no tomorrow. Stay strong, don’t forget us, because you are always on our minds!”

To make the wait a little more bearable for their many fans, John Diva (vocals), Snake Rocket and J.J. Love (both guitar), Remmie Martin (bass) and Lee Stingray Jr. (drums) are set to release the first lead single including cool video clip in a few weeks’ time and will present their new album, American Amadeus, on January 15 January 2021, on time for the start of their tour. AC/DC is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its classic 1980 album "Back In Black" by launching the new video series, "The Story Of Back In Black". Episode one of the series, which focuses on the song "You Shook Me All Night Long", is available below.

Last December, "Back in Black" was certified by the Recording Industry Association Of America for U.S. shipments of 25 million copies.

"Back in Black" first went platinum in October 1980 and had previously been certified 22 times platinum in December 2007. The RIAA lists "Back In Black" as the fourth biggest-selling album of all time.

On July 25, 1980, AC/DC released "Back In Black" in the U.S., followed by the album's U.K. release on July 31. It was the band's first album without lead singer Bon Scott, who had died a few months earlier after passing out and choking on his own vomit following a long night of drinking.

The group quickly decided to press on and hired Brian Johnson from the band GEORDIE to take over on vocals, and they headed to the Bahamas for about six weeks to do the album. AC/DC had made some serious headway in America before Scott's death, but no one knew how "Back In Black" would be received.

Johnson told The Pulse of Radio that he didn't have a clue how successful "Back In Black" would turn out to be. "I'd just melted me brain in there, and I didn't know if it was good or bad," he said. "That was the first time I'd been in the Bahamas, anyway, or near America, you know, and you (have to) remember, I was just fascinated by the whole culture and all, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing! And (laughs) lucky, really — I was a bit lucky, I think."

"Back In Black" included the singles "You Shook Me All Night Long", which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Back In Black", which peaked at No. 37.

Despite its massive success, it never got higher than No. 4 on the album charts. The band's next album, "For Those About To Rock", reached No. 1.

"Back In Black" was produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange, who went on to produce DEF LEPPARD, FOREIGNER, THE CARS, and BRYAN ADAMS.

In 2012, "Back In Black" was added to The Recording Academy's legendary Grammy Hall Of Fame collection.

AC/DC recently launched a range of new merchandise to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "Back In Black".

METALLICA has posted another video as part of its new concert series, "#MetallicaMondays", where the band is streaming a complete live show for fans on the group's YouTube channel and on Facebook every week. The latest concert to be shared was recorded on July 22, 1994 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California.

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

Hetfield made his first major public appearance since entering rehab on January 30, when an exhibit featuring 10 of his classic custom cars opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at four Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May and September have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett told The Pulse Of Radio not long ago that METALLICA has to be in better than average shape to play its music live. "There's a physicality to our music that we cannot ignore, so we just kind of have to keep ourselves in a certain sort of physical sort of state where that we can't let ourselves get to a point where we can't play these songs," he said. "That's just not allowed. When we write this music, we have to make sure that we can play it and play it when we need to play it."

Former MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel has teamed up with singer Andrew Freeman (LAST IN LINE), keyboardist Ed Roth (Robby Krieger, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Montrose, Annie Lennox), drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES), bassist Dan McNay (JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE, MONTROSE) to record a "quarantine" cover version of the GAMMA classic "Razor King" as part of Phil's new series "Collab-A-Jam".

Phil uploaded the video to his YouTube channel, writing in an accompanying message: "Ronnie [Montrose] has been a huge influence since I heard my cousin Ron play 'Make It Last' back in the mid-70s. The self-titled 'Montrose' became my go-to album as I did my paper route and carried by tape recorder around my neck. His tasteful bends and soulful vibrato have always been what I strive for and when I heard Gamma 1, I thought his playing was perfect.

"The 5 of us played this song together at the Ronnie Montrose Remembered show last January in Anahiem and afterward we all agreed that we needed to jam together again. The vibe was strong. I felt humbled and honored that these amazing musicians connected on this level and as many of them were part of Ronnie's musical Family, it made it that much more special to be included. His loss was crushing to many fans, fellow musos and especially his family who are working hard to keep his legacy present.

"I hope you enjoy our tribute to one of our heroes. Thank you for all you've shown us, Ronnie. Much respect.

The new FOZZY album, which was originally scheduled for release this fall, has been pushed back to 2021.

This past May, Jericho told Australia's Triple M radio station that FOZZY has "so many great songs" written for the new LP that "it's gonna be hard to pick the singles."

FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward and producer Johnny Andrews are once again "doing the lion's share" of the songwriting for the new LP, which is being recorded primarily in Atlanta, Georgia.

FOZZY's next album will include the song "Nowhere To Run", which recently hit Top 10 on the rock radio chart. The track is the band's third to hit Top 10 on rock radio, following "Judas" and "Painless".

In addition to producing "Judas", Andrews previously co-wrote FOZZY's "Lights Go Out" track back in 2014. He has also written songs with the likes of ALL THAT REMAINS, THREE DAYS GRACE and HALESTORM.

Former BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin has resumed work on his long-awaited new solo LP. Earlier today, he wrote on his social media: "This lockdown has been a GREAT opportunity to finish my solo album AT LAST!!!!!... Its forced me to focus on getting it done and there are some REALLY cool people playing on it..!!!!! SO FAR ... i can confirm the very wonderful talents of Danny Needham [VENOM], Magnus Rosén [ex-HAMMERFALL], Scott McClellan and Greg Smith. I met with Danny and Magnus last year to try out some stuff. ... But its getting there and the songs are sounding great... :) Watch this space for more announcements."

Martin's last solo album, "Scream", was released in November 2005 via MTM Music.

BLACK SABBATH released six albums with Martin on vocals: "The Eternal Idol" (1987), "Headless Cross" (1989), "Tyr" (1990), "Cross Purposes" (1994), "Cross Purposes Live" (1995) and "Forbidden" (1995). Eventually, Martin and his "Forbidden"-era bandmates were ousted when guitarist Tony Iommi reunited with SABBATH's fellow original members.

In a 2012 interview with Über Röck, Martin said that he was "surprised" to see Iommi criticizing him in the guitarist's "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath" book (referring to the Martin period, especially the touring phase following the release of "Cross Purposes" in 1994, Iommi lambasted his former singer as "unprofessional" and having "no stage presence"). Martin said: "I mean, they never said anything to me. Surely, if you've got a problem, the first person you should say something to is the person that's in the band with you... It sounds like a really stupid thing to say, as they didn't say anything to my face — and, if that's the case, then more fool them for not saying anything, because, you know, we could have fixed it. I said to them, endlessly, that if there was anything they wanted changed, done differently, just to say and we could fix it, but clearly, they didn't, they hadn't got the guts to, obviously, and to write about it in a book afterwards seems a bit daft to me. I'm not bitter about it, but it is surprising... It seems a bit stupid to say that after the event."

Four years ago, Iommi told I Heart Guitar that "it's a shame" that "it took a lot for people to accept" Martin as SABBATH's vocalist. "It's taken all these years later for people to say, 'Oh blimey, that was a good band with good singing.' So it took a long time to get people to really realize how good it was."

In 2018, Iommi spent time in the studio remixing "Forbidden" for a future release. The LP, which features Martin, drummer Cozy Powell and bassist Neil Murray, is often regarded as SABBATH's worst studio recording.

QUEEN drummer Roger Taylor has released an animated video for his new solo single, "Isolation". The clip was produced by Animind Studio 2020.

Released on June 22, the song was recorded during lockdown and is said to reflect "the current times of COVID-19."

Taylor told BBC Radio 6 Music about the inspiration for "Isolation": "It was a frustration and a slight anxiety behind it all, so I just thought I would write a song about how to fill the day — routine in isolation. It's something we are not used to. It is a direct reflection of how I was feeling at the time."

The drummer's latest solo album, his fifth, "Fun On Earth", came out in 2013. Since then, Taylor has released three solo singles: 2017's "Journey's End", 2019's "Gangsters Are Running This World" and "Isolation".

QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT recently recorded a new version of "We Are The Champions" — retitled "You Are The Champions" — as a tribute to workers on the frontline fighting coronavirus.

All proceeds made from the song will go towards the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization.

"The album clocks in just shy of 80 minutes in length and includes our most lengthy and ambitious singular musical effort to date - 'The Sun, The Moon, The Star'. Tarot was our first full length album with Kile Odell on mixing, mastering, and production. Additionally, we worked with Dan Müller of Wilderun for the orchestration, with Philip Reed for choir arrangement and recording, and with members of Paladin, Inferi, Alestorm, Lorelei, and many others for guest musical contributions of all kinds.

Boasting an evident auditory overhaul courtesy of producer Kile Odell and loosely based on the concept of tarot cards, Tarot begins the masterpiece to come with “The Fool” - beginning modestly, then ominously cascading into a black metal-meets-southern-fried riff inspired fury. Further setting the stage for the remainder of the opus, incendiary title track “Tarot” leans heavier into what fans have now come to love from Aether Realm - a confident, cinematic melding of spine-tingling symphonic elements, thrashy rhythms and mind-boggling guitar leads. Following folk metal anthem-turned-talent show “King Of Cups” (featuring labelmate Christopher Bowes of massive pirate metal titans Alestorm), Tarot continues to blindingly shine with tracks like the metallic ballad-echoed “Death” and sinister orchestral oeuvre “The Devil” - the latter of which should catch any competition shaking in their boots. The remainder of Tarot - capped by the nearly 20-minute heroic “The Sun, The Moon, The Star” - proves that it is indeed possible to flawlessly meld southern Americana-metal riffs with European-tinged symphonic soundscapes.

Tarot is the album that every band wishes they could attempt by their second go-round, yet Aether Realm have already achieved it and gaze triumphantly ahead.

American death metal institution Cardiac Arrest has shared their new track "Sodomite". The song hails from the band's seventh album, The Day That Death Prevailed, set for international release on July 17th via Memento Mori on CD format (Boris Records shall release the vinyl version on September 11th). Formed in the bowels of Chicago way back in 1997, Cardiac Arrest have been carving out aural nightmares of perishing and grime for decades now. Consisting of four individuals with an unearthly interest in all that's absurd, morbid, gruesome, and unhealthy, the band's been consistently getting heavier and more vile with every album they spat out via previous labels such as Razorback Recordings and Ibex Moon Records, honoring timeless death metal of the most grinding and putrid ilk with genuineness and a no-nonsense approach, yet adding enough personality to be in a forever-rotting league of their very own.

Now, more than half a dozen albums deep into their 23-year career, Cardiac Arrest have again have delivered a masterstroke: The Day That Death Prevailed. Much like they did with their previous album for Memento Mori, 2018's acclaimed A Parallel Dimension Of Despair, Cardiac Arrest stick to their guns, but come out with those guns fully blazing! Tastes may change, but these U.S. diehards continue to stay true to the iron-clad ethos of genuine, all-caps DEATH METAL; if anything, they get better with age.

Indeed, the title The Day That Death Prevailed is fitting, for their rigorously fine-tuned form of death metal squarely harkens to older, purer days - when true songwriting was valued most, and the disgusting chops to back it up. Cardiac Arrest do both here, gutsfucking the listener with a fiercely focused mix of headbanging gallops and well-timed bouts of blasting, a streamlined, shit-heavy steamroller that's as catchy as the clap; hooks and grooves and generally memorable nastiness are all sliced and sluiced across The Day That Death Prevailed with absolute ease.

But lest one think "catchy" means "soft," think again: these Chicago miscreants are ever committed to horror in the most classic sense, just like aesthetic forebears Grave, Master, Benediction, Obituary, Cianide, Malevolent Creation, and of course, the Floridian masters Death and Massacre. This deep into their catalog, though, and it's about damn time Cardiac Arrest are included in the (un)hallowed ranks, right?

With suitably stark cover art courtesy of Eric Rot and another crushing mastering job by Javier Felez at Moontower Studios, The Day That Death Prevailed once again proves that old age doesn't soften the diehard one bit - it just kicks them into Cardiac Arrest!

"Hell’s Whiskey" is the brand-new single and video from highly rated UK rock act Gallows Circus.

Kent-based ‘blues stained’ hard rock act Gallows Circus have been building quite a formidable reputation across the country with their unmissable brand of hard and heavy rock. David Bowie will get the jigsaw puzzle treatment this summer and fall.

In addition to three previously announced Bowie rocksaws in September, Zee Productions will now add to that with three more coming in October.

"Aladdin Sane", "Heroes" and "Hunky Dory" are due for release on October 9. "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars", "Tonight" and "Never Let Me Down" will be made available on September 4.

Zee Productions will release the album covers as jigsaws via its Rock Saws imprint. The iconic arts of some of rock's most influential and highly regarded albums is presented in puzzle form for the first time ever. All puzzles come in a vinyl-box-set-sized box, perfect to fit alongside a vinyl record collection.

Back in April 2019, Zee Productions launched its new range of rock and metal jigsaw puzzles, Rock Saws.

The first collection included jigsaws based on some of the greatest albums in heavy metal history from IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD, JUDAS PRIEST and SLAYER.

North Carolina’s groove metal outfit WoR is gearing up to release their debut album Prisoners on August 7th via Bungalo Records / Universal. Throwing in elements of thrash, metalcore, and even hardcore punk, everyone in the band has taken a different musical path and the variety of influences shows through in the unique and original sound. 

It’s a little bit melodic and a little bit old school, and completely energetic. The new album Prisoners promises to be an extreme journey from start to finish, a metal album through and through. There are no clean guitars on the whole album, just heavy and groovy riffs. WoR shares their excitement for the release:

FALLING IN REVERSE has shared the not-so-new song "Carry On". The track was originally recorded during the sessions for 2017's "Coming Home" and was previously unreleased. The band revisited the track and decided now was the time to share it with the world.

FALLING IN REVERSE's latest smash hit single, "Popular Monster", enjoyed a multi-week stint as the No. 1 rock radio song in the country. The song landed in the top spot on the Mediabase active rock chart, Billboard's Hot Hard Rock chart, and the Nielsen rock chart. The chart-topping hit marked the first No.1 single of FALLING IN REVERSE's career. It also follows the recent gold certification of the band's 2011-released debut album "The Drug In Me Is You" and a sold-out anniversary tour.

The band previously dropped the song "Drugs", which features SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor. It marked the third track in a successful trilogy of standalone songs and also included "Losing My Life" and "Losing My Mind".

FALLING IN REVERSE's most recent full-length album, 2017's "Coming Home", is available via Epitaph Records.

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of Swedish melodic rock combo Rian to a multi-album deal. The first release will be the band's sophomore album, Twenty-Three, which is currently taking shape under the direction of producer Daniel Flores (Find Me, The Murder Of My Sweet). 

The new songs were written during 2018-2020 and based on melodies and lyrics written by vocalist/guitarist Richard Andermyr. The initial ideas from Richard were crafted into songs that the band arranged together: first with Richard and drummer Jan Johannsson and later on with the full band.

Rian released their debut album Out Of The Darkness in 2017, which was well received by fans and melodic rock media alike. The band made its live debut during 2018, which began the process of the band becoming more and more of a live unit. Add the amazing lead guitars of Tobias Jakobsson into the mix with the band and you have the cocktail that makes up the Rian 2.0 sound. 

"We are really pleased to sign with Frontiers Music Srl. Since our first contact, the label has been nothing but helpful. We feel right at home with the support we’ve received so far and look forward to using this relationship to enable us to provide our fans with a steady supply of quality music for the years to come. Our sound can, in the easiest way, be explained as a modern version of classic melodic rock music, the way it was produced in the second half of the '80s.
