RISING Debuts "White Heat" Music Video"White Heat", the new video from Danish epic/doom metal quintet, Rising, can be seen below. The track comes from the band's fourth LP, Sword And Scythe, which was released in October through Indisciplinarian.
In the theme of the album, Rising presents a new video for "White Heat," for which lead singer and lyricist Morten Grønnegaard, who created the video, states, "'White Heat' tells the story of a distant future where the fossil fuels that once forged our industrial society, are nothing but an ancient memory. Humanity struggles to find a new power source that can generate the white heat demanded to reindustrialize the world. A fast, aggressive yet melodic song with odd time signatures describing man's striving towards both survival and dominance, and all it implies, good and bad. The video is a metaphorical illustration of this ambition and its palpable consequences that are our world today. But along the intent of the album's concept of examining man's nature, it is also a visual question to ourselves: is the current course the only path we can tread, or are we capable of self-critique to the point of controlling our instincts and convey a sustainable existence?"
Rising will be playing select Danish shows over the next several months, among those, a headlining show in Copenhagen this month with labelmates Alkymist, a gig with Danish thrash legends Artillery as well as Alkymist in May, and a set at Rising Festival in June. Shows for the fall are to be announced in the months ahead.

15 - Hotel Cecil - Copenhagen, Denmark (with Alkymist)
May
4 - Kongebryg - Næstved, Denmark (with Artillery, Alkymist)

ROXANNE Debuts "Girls Alright" Music VideoRadio Silence, the sophomore release from the LA based rock band Roxanne, is out now via Rat Pak Records. Watch a video for the song "Girls Alright" below.
Originally formed in the late '80s, Roxanne garnered commercial success with their 1988 self-titled debut album, which was well received with two songs charting on rock radio; “Cherry Bay” and “Sweet Maria”, as well as a cover of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” which hit #63 on the Billboard singles charts and was in full rotation on both dance and rock stations simultaneously.
As with many bands from that era, facing the decline in interest for AOR rock due to the onslaught of the grunge scene, the guys in Roxanne went on hiatus. Now, 30 years later, the band returns with a new offering entitled Radio Silence, which features 11 tracks of pure adrenalized classic rock influenced music, and also features special guest appearances by guitar legend George Lynch, King’s X frontman dUg Pinnick and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.
Regarding the recording process, lead singer Jamie Brown comments, “We wanted to make a rock record that you’d want to crank in your car and drive fast with the windows down and I think we accomplished that!” Drummer Dave Landry adds, “We are all very proud of this album and are ecstatic the way it turned out... the songs, the tones and the performances. Recorded on two-inch analog, it sounds real, it is real, and truly represents the way our band sounds!”
With influences that range from Queen to Bad Company to Thin Lizzy, Radio Silence is best described as a perfect blend of classic rock with a modern-day edge. The album was produced by Rich Mouser and Jamie Brown and recorded, mixed & mastered at The Mousehouse Studio in Los Angeles, CA
Roxanne's Radio Silence is available in various formats and bundle configurations including a limited print Red & Black Splatter vinyl pressing with an alternate track sequence, cassette and hand-autographed CD bundle which you can find at this location.

Video Premiere: L.A. GUNS' 'Rage'Less than two years since the release of "The Missing Peace" — the first L.A. GUNS album since 2002's "Waking The Dead" to feature founding guitarist Tracii Guns and vocalist Phil Lewis — the group will issue a follow-up effort, "The Devil You Know", on March 29 via Frontiers Music Srl.
The official music video for the latest single from the disc, "Rage", can be seen below.
Sonically, "The Devil You Know" covers a lot of ground and incorporates influences from BLACK SABBATH to LED ZEPPELIN to KYUSS to THE HELLICOPTERS, all while distinctly sounding like L.A. GUNS. The band is rejuvenated and inspired after relentless touring and is taking no prisoners.
"After the success of 'The Missing Peace', a lot of people requested that the next record stay on track with the more metal side of the band's music, which is my personal favorite side of the band," says Guns. He continues: "I drew from my typical influences of NWOBHM [New Wave Of British Heavy Metal], while still not forgetting my earlier influences of the late '60s and early '70s."
"It's loaded with attitude and most of it bad," says Lewis of the album's lyrical content. You want a love song — [fuck] off and listen to JOURNEY. They say write about what you know, and lord knows we've all known some evil bitches and dudes that have gone out of their way to make life difficult for us. We say unanimously from the whole band — [fuck] you, we're going places you could only dream about. We know what it's like to be put down, poked, ridiculed... but guess what, looks like we get the last laugh. This band has always been fueled by adrenaline and anger and this record is a glimpse inside the carnival of rage that dwells deep inside our collective souls. Not much sunshine and hold tight to your lollipop... This is gonna be a fast, loud, bumpy ride!"
"The Devil You Know" track listing:
01. Rage
02. Stay Away
03. Loaded Bomb
04. The Devil You Know
05. Needle To The Bone
06. Going High
07. Gone Honey
08. Don't Need To Win
09. Down That Hole
10. Another Season In Hell
11. Boom (bonus track; CD and digital only)
When "The Missing Peace" was released in October of 2017, it added a new and unexpected chapter to the long and often confusing history of L.A. GUNS, who, along with W.A.S.P., are the longest-running, continuously active group of the 1980s Sunset Strip scene.
Since being founded by guitarist Guns and drummer Rob Gardner in 1983, more than 50 musicians have performed under the L.A. GUNS moniker, including Axl Rose (who fronted the group prior to forming HOLLYWOOD ROSE, and then again for a brief period after that band's breakup), Ralph Saenz (better known as Michael Starr of STEEL PANTHER), Jizzy Pearl (LOVE/HATE, QUIET RIOT), Chuck Garric (ALICE COOPER), Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.) and Keri Kelli (NIGHT RANGER, RATT).
In 1987 — two years after Guns left the original lineup of GUNS N' ROSES to restart L.A. GUNS with a group of musicians, including Mick Cripps — the band 's "classic lineup" was solidified with the additions of vocalist Lewis (GIRL), bassist Kelly Nickels and drummer Steve Riley (W.A.S.P.). Those five members appeared on the group's first three albums — its eponymous 1988 debut, 1989's "Cocked & Loaded" and 1991's "Hollywood Vampires".
When Riley left the band in 1992, it began a rotating door lineup that continues in full force in 2018, a year in which four guitarists have performed alongside Guns. The group's current lineup officially features Guns, Lewis, drummer Shane Fitzgibbon, bassist Johnny Martin and bassist-turned-guitarist Adam Hamilton, who played with the band from 2001 to 2007 and rejoined earlier this year after the departure of Johnny Monaco (ENUFF Z'NUFF). Because Hamilton is unable to tour extensively, however, the group recently announced that FASTER PUSSYCAT guitarist Ace Von Johnson will join them on longer tours.
For a number of years after Guns left the band in 2002 to focus on BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION — a group that also featured MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx — there were two competing versions of L.A. GUNS: one featuring Lewis and Riley, and another featuring Guns. After the latter incarnation disbanded in 2012, Guns and Lewis gradually began making amends, performing a full set of L.A. GUNS material together at a Las Vegas concert in 2015 before officially joining forces (while initially being billed as L.A. GUNS' PHIL LEWIS & TRACII GUNS) for a handful of concerts the following year. For the past two years, the group has toured and recorded simply as L.A. GUNS.
In 2019, however, there are once again competing incarnations of L.A. GUNS, as Riley — who was in the group for a total of 27 years and is said to own 50 percent of the band's name — will perform at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland in May under the L.A. GUNS moniker with a lineup that will include Nickels and guitarist Scott Griffin (who played bass for the band from 2007 until 2009, and then again from 2011 to 2014).
Since the M3 performance was announced, Guns and Riley have traded barbs on social media. "Some guys would rather headline a sports bar than play on a great bill like M3," Riley wrote on December 6. "L.A. GUNS is back to being a fantastic band and Steve Riley is still a drummer," Guns responded. He subsequently added, "What would you have done without my name [for] the last 15 years, you ungrateful punk?"

WHITESNAKE Launch Video For "All Or Nothing" (2019 Remix) From Slide It In 35th Anniversary RemasteredWhitesnake scored its first platinum-selling album in 1984 with Slide It In, a release that has sold more than six million copies worldwide thanks to hard-rocking songs like “Love Ain’t No Stranger,” “Slow An’ Easy” and the title track. The classic album turns 35 this year and Rhino / Parlophone is celebrating with several new versions, including an enormous seven-disc boxed set.
Watch a video for "All Or Nothing" (2019 Remix) below:
Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition will be available on March 8th. The 6CD/DVD collection includes newly remastered versions of both the UK and US mixes of the album as well as the 35th Anniversary Remixes from 2019, plus unreleased live and studio recordings, music videos, concert footage, and a new interview with Whitesnake founder and lead singer, David Coverdale.
In the video below, David Coverdale opens his brand new copy of Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition box set:
Three other versions of Slide It In will also be available the same day. A double-CD Deluxe Edition includes the newly remastered UK and US mixes expanded with a selection of bonus tracks. The double-LP Deluxe Edition features the newly remastered UK and US mixes. And finally, a single-disc version includes the newly remastered brand-new mix of the complete album. The music will be available digitally as well.
“Slide It In was always meant to be a structured, more electric modern take on the classic blues-based hard rock that Whitesnake were famous for, but our new Hook City Hooligan, Mixer Extraordinaire Christopher Collier, has hand-tooled this classic record for the 21st century,” says Coverdale. “Hearing all the performances so fresh and so clear after 35 years was amazing. Mel, Cozy and Jon’s playing on the record is as vital now as it was all those years ago. All the featured players shine. Not only did Christopher get the best out of the recording, but, he gives the album a fresh coat of sonic paint bringing it right up to date. I’m personally thrilled with it.”
After releasing Saints & Sinners in 1982, Whitesnake reconvened the following year in Germany to begin recording songs for what would become the band’s sixth studio album, Slide It In. At the time, band members included Coverdale, guitarists Micky Moody and Mel Galley, bassist Colin Hodgkinson and keyboardist Jon Lord. The album was initially released in 1984 in the UK, where it climbed into the Top 10.
Soon after, the band’s lineup changed. Jon Lord left to rejoin Deep Purple and Moody and Hodgkinson were replaced by guitarist John Sykes, and Neil Murray, who was Whitesnake’s original bassist. Prior to its US release in 1985, Slide It In was remixed while newly recorded parts by Sykes, Murray and keyboardist Bill Cuomo were added, resulting in two distinct versions of the album, both of which are included in this set.
Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition features unreleased versions of every album track, including 35th Anniversary remixes made this year, as well as monitor mixes recorded in 1983. The set boasts more than a dozen unreleased live recordings from 1984 that feature an entire concert from Glasgow, Scotland, plus several songs from Jon Lord’s final show with Whitesnake in Sweden. The collection’s final disc unearths 30 tracks that cover original demos and early mixes for album tracks, as well as unfinished song ideas.
The DVD from Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition mixes music videos and live performances, all of which have been carefully restored and remixed in 5.1 Surround Sound for the first time ever. A newly recorded interview with singer David Coverdale rounds out the DVD.

TÝR Premiers "Ragnars Kvæði" Music VideoOn March 8th, the Faroe Islands' Týr will release their eighth full-length, Hel, via Metal Blade Records. Hel is a collection of ruthlessly melodic and irresistibly compelling progressive folk metal that will immediately resonate with any who have followed the band at any point over the two decades of their storied career.
For a new preview of the album, a video for the single "Ragnars Kvæði" can be seen below:
Hel can also be pre-ordered here in the following formats:

- white / blue marbled vinyl (Tutl exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
Known for their prolific nature - dropping their first five full-lengths in the space of just seven years - the six-year gap between Valkyrja (2013) and Hel is by far the longest between any two of their records. During that period the band toured hard, taking the album around the world, including a support run with Children Of Bodom in North America and an appearance on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise. However, other factors played into this extended break between releases.
"We approached this one differently because I learned that if I continue doing albums in the way we had up to now, I would die from a heart attack before I'm 50!" says guitarist/vocalist Heri Joensen. "That's one of the reasons we changed our method and took such a long time on this one."
That this tactic - which also includes more songwriting contributions from bassist/vocalist Gunnar Thomsen and guitarist Terji Skibenæs than on previous releases - has been beneficial is borne out in the finished product, which is perhaps more immersive than those that came before.
"Musically it leans a bit towards our album, 'Ragnarok' (2005)," states Thomsen. "It's a bit more epic and also much better worked through than any of our previous albums." It also marks the recording debut of drummer Tadeusz Rieckmann, who has manned the drum throne for Týr's live shows since 2016.

Former Texas Congressman BETO O'ROURKE Attends METALLICA Concert In El PasoFormer Texas congressman Beto O'Rourke attended METALLICA's concert Thursday night (February 28) at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso.
The 46-year-old father of three was spotted rocking out at the legendary heavy metal band's show, looking extremely out of place drowned in a sea of METALLICA T-shirts.
Journalist Ivan Pierre Aguirre, who was at the concert, tweeted a photo of O'Rourke in the crowd. He wrote in an accompanying caption: " [email protected] is in attendance at the @Metallica concert at #UTEP tonight. Could he announce is Presidential bid here?? It is the last day of the month after-all. ??#beto2020 #2020elections #OnAssignment #elpaso #ept #beto"
O'Rourke recently confirmed that he has made a decision about a 2020 presidential run and said that he will announce his intentions soon.
The failed senatorial candidate invigorated Democrats in Texas and earned national media attention for a 2018 campaign that nearly ousted Sen. Ted Cruz, but fell short by about 3 percentage points.
As a high schooler in El Paso, O'Rourke was in a called band FOSS with Cedric Bixler-Zavala, who would go on to front THE MARS VOLTA and AT THE DRIVE-IN.
In a 2012 interview with Fusion Magazine, O'Rourke was asked what kind of music he liked. "I guess my heart is in the music I grew up with which is punk rock; the music and the bands that first got me excited about playing music and being involved in cultural life," he responded. "I also have a spot in my heart for old British invasion stuff, THE WHO, THE BEATLES, THE [ROLLING] STONES, THE KINKS. I love all those bands. As I get older, I keep thinking that I'm going to lose my taste for punk rock, the kind of aggressive music, idealistic music of my youth, but it's still my go-to music."

One thing's for sure though, it’ll be a white-knuckle ride for me, but fans will get a real unvarnished insight into what’s happened over the years. I’ll be taking a guitar along to demonstrate how some of those Quo classics came into being, and hopefully we’ll take a few questions from the audience too. It’s been quite a journey, there’s a lot to share.”
2019 will be a year like no other: with an album, book and tour, Francis Rossi has truly stretched himself creatively but is also connecting as never before with the loyal fanbase built up over fifty years of creating history with Quo. Honest to a fault and always good company, I Talk Too Much is aptly named, don’t miss Francis Rossi spilling the beans as never before.

REVEREND - Late METAL CHURCH Singer DAVID WAYNE'S Band ResurfacesIf you thought you'd never hear from power metal/thrashers Reverend again you're not alone.
After losing Dave Wayne to complications from an auto accident in 2005, Reverend carried on in living tribute for several years until another tragic loss seemed to end the former Metal Church singer's group for good.
Enter some previously un-released demos from 1993-2000 with an entire album's worth of material along with former Rev guitarist Bill Rhynes who wrote and recorded these tracks with Dave on multitrack equipment all those years ago.
Needless to say, time has not been kind to the cassette mediums that the music has been resting on for 20+ years, but the desire to bring these tracks back to new life with a brand new band brings together a veritable supergroup comprised of singer Bobby “Leatherlungs” Lucas of Morbid Sin, Seven Witches, Overlorde and Attacker along with drummer Joe Moore of D.T.A. and Bloodfeast, and none other than Exciter's very own Allan Johnson on bass.
The group is in the midst of recreating the original tracks penned by Wayne and Rhynes and a future release of this collection is imminent.
“It's no secret that Dave left behind some pretty big shoes to fill, and I think people will be pleased with what Bobby does with Dave's words” says Rhynes, “It gives me the chills sometimes when I am working on the tracks with him, it's almost like being onstage or in the rehearsal hall with David all over again. I am confident Dave would give his blessing.”
Stay tuned for updates.

ANTHEM Debuts "Black Empire" Music VideoJapan's leading traditional heavy metal band, Anthem, will release Nucleus, an entirely re-recorded greatest hits album now available with English lyrics for the first time, on March 29th. Check out a music video for the song "Black Empire", below:
On the eve of the bands 35th Anniversary, their popularity in Japan remains as high as ever and their worldwide fan base continues to grow. Thus the idea of an all English re-record of their biggest hits came to be.
Band leader and bassist Naoto Shibata comments: "Our re-recorded greatest hits album with English lyrics, represents all that this is Anthem’s nucleus. I am honoured from the bottom of my heart that we can present this to our fans. Anthem will keep doing our best to move forward heading for the future as always. I hope you all will enjoy Nucleus.”
Mixing and mastering for Nucleus were done by the legendary Jens Bogren. His works based on elaborate theories and a great store of knowledge helped Anthem achieve their goals on this release. Nucleus is heavy with Jens' fat sound and rich low-end that he has made the worldwide heavy metal standard.
This re-recorded greatest hits, including a variety of their classics is a monumental work, which perfectly shows the musical quality of Anthem and proves that they can be ranked as a global act in the international metal scene.
Anthem guitarist Akio Shimizu states: "Those 13 songs were not easy to re-record at all, however I believe they fully got the sound and the expression of today’s Anthem while being true to the originals at the same time. Please give it to a listen and feel the details of the album with the fresh mixing by Jens Bogren."
Vocalist Yukio Morikawa says of the recordings: "Singing all the songs in English was not easy at all for me, but I hope this album will show the world that Japan has a band like us who loves metal this much. I hope you enjoy Nucleus!"
Nucleus will be released in North America via Golden Robot Records on March 29th and can be pre-ordered here. The album will be available elsewhere via Nuclear Blast Records.

TOMMY THAYER Says It Was A 'No-Win Situation' Replacing ACE FREHLEY In KISSKISS guitarist Tommy Thayer has admitted to Argus Leader in a new interview that his addition to the band in 2003 as the replacement for Ace Frehley was met with some backlash from the band's fans. However, now that he has been in KISS even longer than Frehley's combined years, he says that he has become more comfortable in the lead guitar role.
"I have to be honest, when I first came into the band, there was some pressure," Thayer said. "It was kind of a no-win situation when you're replacing somebody like that. There's a lot of fans who are unhappy with this and I understand. They followed the band for a long time and it's hard to see things like that change sometimes. After a few years went by, I got more confident and more comfortable in the situation, as time goes on, it continues to be a growing experience and something that I get more used to."
KISS's "End Of The Road" farewell tour launched in late January in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The first leg of the global trek, which could last three years, wraps April 13 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Back in October, Frehley told Yahoo! Entertainment that he had "nothing bad to say about Tommy… You know, it'd be one thing if Tommy would have invented his own character, invented his own guitar solos," he said. "But unfortunately, he's copying everything I do, note for note. There's not much leeway for anybody to say what he's doing is original. I don't know how I could handle that, you know? I don't think I could step into a situation and be somebody else. It's almost like being a robot. Poor Tommy. My heart bleeds for him."
Thayer recently told Russia's TASS that he might "still be involved with KISS in a different way" once the band retires from touring. Tommy also plans to take part in other projects. "It will probably be something which is associated with music or the entertainment business for sure," he said.

C.O.C. Guitarist On DOYLE's Meet-And-Greet Comments: Maybe He Should 'Figure Out Something Else To Do'CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's Woody Weatherman says that MISFITS's Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein should perhaps "figure out something else to do" if he doesn't like to take part in paid meet-and-greets with his fans.
In a recent interview with "The Liquid Conversations", Doyle lamented the fact that artists are forced to charge their fans a fee for a photo op.
"The thing that sucks the most about it is everybody steals music," Doyle said. "You spend a fucking hundred thousand dollars to make a record and all these fucking scumbags are just fucking stealing it. And then they want more. And you're a dick, 'cause you're doing a meet-and-greet [after concerts] for 50 fucking bucks to make up for it, which you don't wanna do. You think I wanna meet all these fucking people? I don't. When I'm done, I wanna fucking take a fucking shower and go to bed. I just worked, so..."
Asked by Metal Nation Radio to weigh in on Doyle's comments, Woody said: "I know Doyle is a friendly guy. But I'll say this — if he's that dissatisfied with it, maybe figure out something else to do. Pepper [Keenan, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist] and I often do [meet-and-greets], and we're doing it 'cause we enjoy meeting the fans and saying 'What's up?' and getting some feedback or whatever. I don't have any problem with it."
He continued: "I do get Doyle's way of thinking, 'cause it's tough. He's out there and he's doing his work and doing his thing, and maybe he feels that the modern industry is… it's not that kind to musicians anymore. But it's the modern world. You've just gotta grasp it. If you don't like it, you've gotta do something else, I guess."
Paid meet-and-greets are becoming staples of the touring circuit and are seen by some artists as a necessary evil to survive nowadays. Other musicians object to meet-and-greets on moral grounds, believing they favor richer fans over poorer ones. Similarly, many people view the fact that groups charge fans to meet them as completely exploitative, since artists are usually aware that young admirers are prepared to pay any amount of money to see their favorite band, sometimes at their parents' expense.
Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti made headlines in 2016 when he said he was completely opposed to fans paying for meet-and-greets, explaining that "we should be paying [them]." "Some bands will charge for meet-and-greets or they'll charge for some special types of meet-and-greets," Meniketti said. "I don't like to do that. I think that's gouging the fans. I think that's a little too much of trying to get every last dollar out of everybody, dollaring people to death. I don't like that whatsoever. To me, your fanbase is golden. They're the people that are keeping us going. They're the people that love the music."
He continued: "Why do we want to charge them to meet us? That, to me, seems like the most bizarre thing you can do and too opportunist. That's not my thing. They pay for a ticket. Come see us live, that's what's going to keep us alive. Buy a t-shirt, something like that. But don't pay to see me. My God. I should be paying you guys. I'm happy to shake a hand, take a picture or listen to a story or something like that. In fact, more than happy. It makes us all feel good. It makes us feel connected to our fans."
Canadian musician/producer Devin Townsend defended the culture of "V.I.P packages," telling Noisey: "A lot of the times, fans may think bands are taking the piss by simply doing a meet-and-greet, but if we don't do them, we simply can't do what we're doing. It's not like we do them then get a bonus at the end of the tour. On the other side of it, if you're in the band and you're hypersensitive to people's energy, like I believe I am, meet-and-greets fucking beat the shit out of you. Not because you don't want to meet people, but because in order to do it correctly, you really have to invest yourself and be present and ready to talk to people and sometimes accept hyperbolic praise or criticism, and you have to be emotionally resilient enough to not let either… I mean, it's about them. They're paying for a moment and your job is to be present and that's really challenging on tour."
OVERKILL frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth concurred, telling Metal Wani: "You have to understand that in the modern era, businesses have to be reinvented, and that reinvention comes primarily from the technology we possess — that there are just less sales of records, and this is just a fact. But the idea of V.I.P. is that it gives a person a choice not to just get a handshake and an autograph and a 'How are you?', but to sit there and talk with somebody; it could be up to 20 minutes. And I think that if a person decides to do that, it actually doesn't help the band directly, because we would have done it anyway, but for sure it helps the promoter. And if the promoter can make that happen, the band can then continue to tour, because the guarantees become more solid based on the price of them. And you're not gonna see, at an OVERKILL show, there is not two hundred people on a V.I.P. I mean, there is 20 — max. I remember [when] OVERKILL [and] KREATOR [toured the U.S. together], I think the biggest V.I.P. we had was 40 people in New York, but that was over two thousand tickets. So if those forty people choose to do so, and it solidifies the fact that touring can still happen based on sales being down, then I'm all for it. But it doesn't mean that I wouldn't shake hands in Newark Airport, or in Mumbai, or in London, or in Tokyo. It's just my nature to like people."
Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted called the paid-meet-and-greet practice "bullshit" in a 2012 interview. He explained: "My guys had been talking to me about doing those things, and they talk about KISS making money for this meet-and-greet. People will pay it, but that's not the point. I don't want to take money like that. If they want to buy a t-shirt and have something to show for it, that's what we do. You can't download a t-shirt.
"I don't feel comfortable with charging people to meet me; I don't feel comfortable with charging people to get me to sign something when they are standing with me," he said. "If they buy it off the Internet and want an 8x10 or an autograph CD, they have that momentum. That's fine, but I'm not going to charge people to meet me. I just don't feel that's right. I'll pay to meet one of my old sports heroes, or something like one of the cats from the 1970s Orioles. I'll pay a couple of bucks for something, but I'm not going to pay for Gene Simmons. It's ridiculous; that's not what it's about."

OVERKILL Frontman Praises 'Surgically Precise' New Drummer JASON BITTNEROVERKILL frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth recently spoke with Jack Antonio of the "Do You Know Jack?" podcast. The full conversation can be streamed below. A few excerpts follow (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On the group's consistency:
Bobby: "Everything is moving forward as it should. We're in the routine — write, mix, release, tour... It's always worked for us, so why fix it? Even when metal was a dirty word in many parts of the world in the '90s, we were still able to keep that routine or schedule up and tour well. I think that if it's not broken, don't fix it."
On surviving grunge:
Bobby: "I always think of that era as the one I'm the most proud of. We took on management ourselves; we found record deals; we found agents that would book us; we found festivals. Did it make us what we were? Maybe not, but the point was that maybe we were already that, and that's why we had the ability to weather that storm. We always understood that this was a business, but it was a business we loved, and to be able to do what we loved, we had to keep a positive cash flow. If you're a young band, you can have all the aspirations and dreams of purity, but if nobody's paying you, eventually you're going to be driving a UPS truck. It's just that simple, and you won't be able to do what you love except for on the weekends with your friends coming to see you. I think we understood those principles, and that's what got us through that era... It motivated us. There's no two ways about it. Somebody from Seattle called all the metal bands and said, 'Sorry — your careers are over. Don't bother showing up for work tomorrow.' We just let the phone keep ringing. [Laughs]... We learned that we had to understand that it had to feed itself if we wanted to feed off of it, and do what we continue to love doing."
On new album "The Wings Of War":
Bobby: "Sure, it's OVERKILL at the end of the day, but I think the beauty of it is that we notice the nuances from the inside, whatever those changes may be — in this case, part of that change being [new drummer] — Jason Bittner. This is one of the most surgically precise drummers we've ever had in this band, who hits quite hard, and we knew that that would change the chemistry. I think we embraced it. It's not the prototypical OVERKILL record, but for sure, by the end of the day, [it] has the identifiable OVERKILL stamp on it."
On the fact that Bittner toured extensively with the band prior to recording the new album:
Bobby: "It's priceless to be able to know the guy who's going to be steering the ship from a live perspective before writing. That's just the way it is. It's the drummer's band, and the rest of us are just hanging on and following him, playing with him. I knew three songs in [at Bittner's first show with OVERKILL] in the Ukraine, a year before he had recorded one track for the band, that the band had changed. The question posed to us is, do you embrace that change and become part of it, or do you force it in another direction? I think in this case, we embraced that chance, and again, [the result was] a surgically precise, brutal display in the drum corridor on 'The Wings Of War'... You don't want a drunk doctor working on your heart — you want somebody who knows what he's doing, making precise cuts. The idea with him is that he's schooled. He's probably the most trained musician we've ever had in the band — outwardly trained, with regard to a degree in what he does. I think he brings a different flavor to the band. Us not being trained outwardly but being self-taught musicians, he brings in that other element, and we feel it. This could be the most brutal drum record we've ever had. That being said, he created so much space with that precision that it gave guys like Dave Linsk or myself the opportunity to instill melody, so you have brutality and you have melody creating kind of a third entity. These are part of the differences that we saw as a band with regard to writing, recording and performing these songs for 'The Wings Of War'."
On album opener "Last Man Standing":
Bobby: "We were trying to figure out the first single. I was sitting around with D.D. Verni. We were getting ready to do trailers for it, and he goes, 'The fucking opener is Thrash 101.' [Laughs] It does show that all things are well in our house. It may be Thrash 101, but it's Thrash 101 with that new chemistry We've never knocked politely on the door. We love our opening songs. We write specifically an opener for every record, not, like, try to choose it later on. We say, 'This is the opener,' because it kicks the door in. It's a punch in the face. We've just raided your refrigerator; we've turned the stereo up. This is one of the principles of the band — hit hard when you have the chance to hit."
On OVERKILL's momentum in recent years:
Bobby: "I think with us, I'm not going to say resurgence, but the resurgence of the scene started happening back in the first decade of the millennium — 2008, 2009, 2010. We were ready for it at that point, because we never went home and lived in our parents' basements, chain-smoked and wondered why nobody appreciated our genius. We worked through those darker times, so as the scene got healthy, we were in a position to release 'Ironbound'. We'd been touring and recording all this time, and when 'Ironbound' came out, we happened to catch kind of lightning in a bottle for ourselves. You always go in with that intent, but there was a healthy scene now with lightning in a bottle."
OVERKILL's nineteenth studio album, "The Wings Of War" was released on February 22 via Nuclear Blast. 179

MOTÖRHEAD To Release Double 7" Single 'Overkill / Bomber'MOTÖRHEAD has announced the release of "Overkill / Bomber" on double picture-disc seven-inch vinyl. It will be made available via BMG for Record Store Day (Saturday, April 13), featuring a new 2019 remaster of the original "Overkill" single edit.
A 40th-anniversary celebration of the loudest, dirtiest, bastard rock 'n' roll of 1979 — the year MOTÖRHEAD released the seminal "Overkill" and "Bomber" albums — the featured single edit was previously only available as the A side of the original 1979 seven-inch single "Overkill". It will be released digitally for the first time ever on March 8, to coincide with its original release date.
This lavish double picture disc is housed in a gatefold sleeve, which features iconic photos of the band, shot by Paul Slattery on February 8, 1979 in front of a huge MOTÖRHEAD Snaggletooth mural on the Harrow Road in Paddington, London.
To get a taste of Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor in full flight in 1979, you can watch classic archive footage of the band performing both singles on "Top Of The Pops" from that year.
"Overkill" track listing:
Side A: Overkill
Side B: Too Late Too Late
"Bomber" track listing:
Side A: Bomber

SKID ROW Guitarist Explains Why Classic 'Oh Say Can You Scream' Home Video Is Not Available On DVDDuring a question-and-answer session aboard this year's Monsters Of Rock cruise, the members of SKID ROW were asked when their 1990 "Oh Say Can You Scream" home video will finally be made available on DVD.
"Here's the problem: we don't own the rights to that," guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo responded (see video below). "It's owned by the record company. They presented us with a deal a few years ago that was really awful. So we just said, 'You know what? We'll wait until we get the rights back and then we can do how we want to. Honestly. We want it out there, of course. We want people to be able to see it. But the problem is that they want to control it in their way. And it wasn't good for us."
Asked if they now own the rights to their first couple of albums, Sabo said: "Not yet. It's 35 years until you have the opportunity to own the rights. So another four years." Bassist Rachel Bolan added: "In another four years, it's all ours. They put out the deluxe edition of our first record — digitally only, which kind of pissed off, 'cause we want it on vinyl, we want it on CD, we want it on everything. Holding that in your hand is way more important than just [streaming it]. But they put it out, which is cool, and we're happy with that. But we're gonna have all that stuff and we're gonna be able to control everything at some point. And it will be ours."
This past January, Rhino celebrated the 30th anniversary of SKID ROW's multi-platinum debut with a digital deluxe edition that included the original album remastered for the first time, expanded with the bonus track "Forever". The deluxe edition also featured a previously unreleased live performance from 1989, marking the first ever release of a full live show from the band.
SKID ROW's 1989 self-titled effort featured the Top 10 hits "18 And Life" and "I Remember You" and was supported by a six-month tour with BON JOVI.
Last year, ex-SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach said that he reached out to his former bandmates about doing something special for the album's 30th anniversary. "I texted 'em, the whole band. I go, 'Hey, guys, January of 2019 is the 30th anniversary of the 'Skid Row' record coming out. I think we should maybe put out a re-release with bonus material and 'Oh Say Can You Scream' Blu-ray and posters and passes' — everything that RUSH puts out that I go buy and everything that every other band puts out… ALLMAN BROTHERS," he told Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station. "I collect this stuff. I go, 'Let's do a 30th-anniversary [re-release]. Hope you all are well. Look forward to hearing [from] you.' And I sent that, and I got no response. I'm not making this up; I'm just telling you. Five guys! No, nothing. Okay. I guess that's a dumb idea. It's the 30th anniversary of the first album. The fans would probably dig a deluxe package. But stupid old me — what do I know? [Laughs]"
In a 2015 interview with Loudwire, Sebastian accused his former bandmates of not acknowledging SKID ROW's legacy. "It makes me heartbroken that the first SKID ROW album came out 25 years ago and there is not a 180-gram vinyl addition with a poster and a… It makes me nuts," he said. "It makes me crazy, if you want to know the truth.
"I don't even have to be in the same room with those guys to do that shit. Why don't we embrace the legacy like every other band? All I mean by that is put out a DVD, put out a vinyl record, put out a box set."
Bach added: "I would like to apologize to my fans and SKID ROW fans. I'm sorry that you can't go enjoy what we made for you. It doesn't exist. There's not one DVD of our videos. You cannot go and buy a DVD of the '18 And Life' video — it doesn't exist. Why? I mean, why?"
Bach fronted SKID ROW until 1996, when he was fired. Instead of throwing in the towel, the remaining members took a hiatus and went on to play briefly in a band called OZONE MONDAY.
In 1999, SKID ROW reformed and, after a bit of shuffling over the years, featured a lineup consisting of bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Sabo and Scotti Hill, alongside drummer Rob Hammersmith and singer Johnny Solinger.
SKID ROW fired Solinger over the phone in April 2015, a few hours before announcing ex-TNT vocalist Tony Harnell as his replacement. Eight months later, Harnell exited the band and was replaced by South African-born, British-based singer ZP Theart, who previously fronted DRAGONFORCE, TANK and I AM I.

"Okay, I take it back. Sometimes filming concert footage can be the right thing to do. I can't thank my wife Suzanne enough for taking this clip. This truly is one of my favorite songs of all time. Watching this video with Devon Allman and Duanne Betts and the Devon Allman Project touches me very deeply. This music that we made at about one in the morning at the very last performance of the very last show of the Rock Legends Cruise could be one of my favorite things I have ever posted to the internet, ever. PHIL SOUSSAN Says STEVE STEVENS Turned Out To Be 'A Bit Of A Snake In The Grass' During Making Of VINCE NEIL's 'Exposed' AlbumDuring a brand new interview with Love Is Pop, former OZZY OSBOURNE and current LAST IN LINE bassist Phil Soussan talked about his contributions to Vince Neil's debut solo album, 1993's "Exposed". Despite the fact that he co-wrote five of the 11 songs on the MÖTLEY CRÜE singer's disc, Soussan isn't credited with having played on the record.
Claiming that he laid down "some" the bass tracks that ended up on "Exposed", Soussan said that the story of his involvement with the LP "was an unfortunate one. I had put the whole project together with Vince and we started writing songs and many of those songs were songs that were leftover that I had been writing for Ozzy," he said. "When I left Ozzy, I took those songs with me. That's why a lot of that material comes in. So, when you listen to 'The Edge', it's 'S.A.T.O.', when you listen to 'The Look In Her Eyes', it's like 'Bark At The Moon'. Equivalent tracks. And you can hear that. The unfortunate thing is Steve Stevens [Neil's guitarist for the album], who turned out to be, you know, a bit of a snake in the grass. I don't know what his personal issues were, but he walked into the project and once he got in there, he basically had expressed his frustration. He was planning on writing all the songs and playing bass on the record and doing all these things. And I said, 'No, that's not how it's gonna work. It's gonna work as a band.' He said, 'Well, that's how I do it with Billy Idol.' I said, 'Okay, that's Billy Idol. That's not Vince Neil.' And then he started a process of manipulation. Not a pleasant guy. I don't know to this day why he did that. I sort of backed out."
He continued: "At a certain point, it looked like it was going to be very challenging going forward. We had so many problems. The manager had just passed away — Bruce Bird. He was keeping Vince and everybody together, and at that point, it started becoming a mess, and I backed out. And that would've been the end of it. Then one day my business manager called me up and said, 'Oh, you need to know that Steve Stevens has not only put his name on some of your songs, but he's cut you out.' I said, 'That's it,' and I served an injunction on Warner Brothers. He had no evidence to support his claim. We had everything. We had all the demos. We had all the lyrics. We had tapes that were recorded that were pre-dated Steve being in the band. He had no way of substantiating this. At the end of the day, that's how it worked out. But, unfortunately, if you look on the credits on the album, his name is on a bunch of songs even though he did not participate. There's nothing I can do about that."
Soussan added: "It's sad when you meet somebody who's kind of a jerk and that's kind of how he was. Nothing against Vince. I still see Vince all the time. And the guys in the band as well. Robbie [Crane]. I love Robbie, who was originally playing guitar in the band [before switching to bass]."
Neil recruited Stevens, Crane and rhythm guitarist Dave Marshall for the "Exposed" tour, which saw Neil opening for VAN HALEN.
A critically acclaimed effort, "Exposed" peaked at No. 13 on the U.S. album chart and failed to earn gold certification.
Stevens told Metal Babe in a 2015 interview that the experience of making "Exposed" and touring behind it was "crazy." He explained: "I was living in New York at the time, and I had never really worked with an artist from Los Angeles, especially one that came from the L.A. Sunset Strip music scene. Vince was everything that you'd thought he'd be. We had a really good team. Ron Nevison produced the record, who was one of the great '80s and '90s record producers. He did all those HEART records. So doing the album was a real change for me, because with Billy Idol, it's all about playing economically and supporting the vocal and guitar solos if they're needed, but not every song has a solo, and it's not all about playing really fast or showing off. I remember when we were starting to put together the songs for the record, Vince would say, 'Make the solo twice as long, and play faster.' It was nice to be given this platform for the heavier side of my guitar playing. I think the guitar sound on that record is really good, and I'm really proud of that record. It was a great experience. We knew that before we finished the record that we'd be going out to support VAN HALEN, and Eddie's a friend of mine, so that part of the touring was just fantastic. It was a real challenge to play in front of a VAN HALEN audience, you know, because if you sucked, they're gonna let you know."
Neil eventually rejoined MÖTLEY CRÜE in 1997. 1

KISS's PAUL STANLEY Says He 'Stands By' His Vocal Performance On 'End Of The Road' TourIn a brand new interview with StarTribune, KISS frontman Paul Stanley was asked how he is taking care of his voice on the "End Of The Road" trek, in light of the fact that it has sounded diminished on many recent tours. "I try not to talk to guys like you, for one," Stanley replied. "It's hard to stay away from smoke, because the arenas are filled with it. But I do shut up as much as possible, and try other things.
"There's no denying, whether you're an athlete or singer, that life goes on, and you aren't who you once were," he continued. "That's life. I always say if you want to hear me sound like I did on 'Alive!', go listen to 'Alive!' That said, I have no problem doing what I'm doing and standing by it. The songs sound awesome."
Ever since KISS's "End Of The Road" trek launched last month, there has been persistent online chatter about Paul allegedly singing to a backing tape. The speculation stemmed from the fact that Stanley had been struggling to hit the high notes in many of the band's classic songs for a number of years.
Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach defended KISS against claims that the band is using pre-recorded tracks during its farewell tour, saying that Stanley sang "his ass off LIVE" during a recent concert in California. "I have seen way more obvious use of backing tracks than with KISS," Sebastian wrote.
Bach's comments came just hours after MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx called out another band for using taped vocals during its live performances after it previously derided other groups for doing the same thing.
Sixx wrote on Twitter: "Certain band out on the road right now putting other bands DOWN and saying that they are a REAL rock band, no background singers, and other old people cranky comments except his lead vocals are on tape.People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. #GetOffMyLawn #WizardOfOz"
Most fans assumed that Sixx was referring to KISS, especially since KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has previously slammed bands who used backing tapes for not being honest enough to include that fact on their concert tickets.
After KISS played on NBC's "America's Got Talent" last September, Stanley was asked by Rolling Stone if that was actually a live performance or if he and his bandmates tracked it earlier. "What you tend to do is record it live and that way you know that everything is as it should be," he responded. "It's not like going into the studio or anything like that. It's…with all its imperfections, it's live." 1

CINDERELLA's TOM KEIFER Putting Finishing Touches On Second Solo AlbumTom Keifer is putting the finishing touches on his second solo album for a tentative summer release.
The CINDERELLA frontman spoke about the follow-up to his acclaimed debut solo album, 2013's "The Way Life Goes", during an appearance earlier today (February 28) on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation".
"We did our last show in November 2018 and went straight into the studio," he said. "We've been locked away as a band for a couple of months cutting tracks. We moved over from the tracking room to our studio at home, and we've been doing overdubs for probably the last six weeks or so, kind of 24/7. And we've actually almost finished the record, so it's been going really smooth. The chemistry and the energy that you see with this band on stage translated amazingly into the studio. So we're very excited."
Asked how the musical direction of the new LP compares to that of "The Way Life Goes", Keifer said: "It's a little more focused. Every record that I've been involved in in the writing was always… I like that journey from beginning to end, that we have heavy, intense stuff and stuff that comes down to very organic, acoustic kind of stuff. So the way I would describe this record is the extreme ends, which is the heavy and the more intimate things, are as extreme as they probably have ever been. The heavy stuff is probably the heaviest stuff I've ever been involved in writing or recording. [And the organic stuff] is as intimate… where you hear every breath of the vocal — it's pretty exposed. And then things in between that are middle ground. But the heavy side is probably heavier than ever."
As for a possible release date for his new disc, Tom said: "We're hoping August. We're almost finished recording, and then we'll get into mixing. Our goal is to deliver it by the end of March to the label, and then they need setup time."
Keifer has spent the last couple of years touring with #keiferband: his wife, Savannah Keifer (vocals, percussion, piano), Tony Higbee (guitars, vocals), Billy Mercer (bass, vocals) and Kendra Chantelle (vocals, percussion) along with Jarred Pope (drums) and Kory Myers (keyboards, vocals).
"The Way Life Goes - Deluxe Edition", an expanded version of "The Way Life Goes", was made available in October 2017 via Cleopatra Records. The package included the original album remastered by Richard Dodd (KINGS OF LEON, JASON ALDEAN, LADY ANTEBELLUM) plus two brand new studio tracks recorded in Nashville by three-time Grammy Award winner Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton).

LINKIN PARK's MIKE SHINODA Releases 'I.O.U.' Music VideoLINKIN PARK vocalist Mike Shinoda has released the official music video for the song "I.O.U.". The track is taken from Mike's solo album, "Post Traumatic", which came out last June.
Directed by Chady Awad, the "I.O.U." video features exclusive footage from Mike's U.S. tour this past fall and comes just days after the kick-off of his European headline leg in Berlin.
"I.O.U." follows the recent release of Mike's two new tracks, "Prove You Wrong" and "What The Words Meant", which are now available on all DSPs for the very first time as part of "Post Traumatic (Deluxe Edition)".
Shinoda told Forbes about "I.O.U.": "[It's] a really grimy, dark hip-hop track. It's all braggadocio and it comes from the type of hip-hop that I listened to growing up. I took it to Jason Joshua to mix. He mixes a lot of modern hip-hop and pop, but a ton of really great dark hip-hop records, and we were talking about the track, and he goes, 'Who did the track on this?' I'm, like, 'What, what do you mean?' This is the first time we worked together so he didn't know I make all the music. I'm always driving the ship in the LINKIN PARK album-writing and the sound-creation process.
"On this record, I did 90 percent of the stuff, made 90 percent of the sounds and wrote the songs and all the lyrics and everything," he continued. "When I did open the door to collaborate with other people, it was usually something that just happened naturally; it was with friends and folks that I trust and I respect. At the end of the day, it's my record, it's got my name on it. I need to make sure that everything is reflective of how I see things and how I present it."
Some of the new LP was inspired by the death almost two years ago of LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington. The latter was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home on July 20, 2017 after hanging himself. LINKIN PARK headlined an all-star tribute concert for Bennington in October 2017 in Los Angeles but has not announced any future plans for recording or touring.

HELLYEAH To Celebrate VINNIE PAUL's Life With Special Las Vegas ConcertHELLYEAH will celebrate the life of its late drummer, Vinnie Paul Abbott, with a special performance on May 11 at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The band announced the concert earlier today via social media, writing: "Please join us, Together, with our Metal Family, Friends, and Fans, to celebrate the life of our Brother and Bandmate with a very special One Night Only Event – 'HELLYEAH: A Celebration of the Life of Vinnie Paul' at House of Blues Las Vegas Saturday May 11.
"General Tickets On Sale Friday March 8, 10am PST. Packages On Sale Today 12pm PST. Vinnie Paul House of Blues Las Vegas KOMP 92.3 Las Vegas #333"
HELLYEAH filmed footage for a new music video on Friday, March 1 at Duff's Brooklyn in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. The clip is for a song apparently titled "3", which will appear on the band's upcoming album. The LP will mark the group's final effort with Abbott, who passed away in June 2018.
Vinnie Paul died of dilated cardiomyopathy, an enlarged heart, as well as severe coronary artery disease. His death was the result of chronic weakening of the heart muscle — basically meaning his heart couldn't pump blood as well as a healthy heart.
Not long before his death, Vinnie laid down the drum tracks for HELLYEAH's sixth album.
Like the last two records, 2016's "Unden!able" and 2014's "Blood For Blood", the new disc was recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.
The PANTERA and HELLYEAH drummer was buried on June 30, 2018 next to his brother, PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, and their mother, Carolyn, at Moore Memorial Gardens cemetery in Arlington, Texas. He was laid to rest in a custom "Kiss Kasket" provided by KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The casket was offered as a gift at Vinnie's family's request. Vinnie was also buried in some of his trademark clothes, including his hat, shoes and flannel.
A public memorial for Vinnie Paul was held on July 1, 2018 at Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas.
Please join us, Together, with our Metal Family, Friends, and Fans, to celebrate the life of our
Brother and Bandmate...Posted by HELLYEAH on Monday, March 4, 2019

AT THE GATES Releases Live Video For 'Daggers Of Black Haze' Song"Daggers Of Black Haze", the new live video from Swedish melodic death metal pioneers AT THE GATES, can be seen below. The clip was captured on the band's latest European tour.
"Daggers Of Black Haze" is taken from AT THE GATES' latest album, "To Drink From The Night Itself", which was released last May via Century Media. Produced with Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, THE HAUNTED, DIMMU BORGIR) at Parlour Studios in the U.K., the follow-up 2014's "At War With Reality" features conceptual artwork created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media, who previously worked with AT THE GATES on the band's last disc.
Singer Tomas Lindberg spoke to Decibel magazine about how the departure of longtime AT THE GATES guitarist and primary songwriter Anders Björler has affected the band's sound. "It is true that there is a big shift in the lineup," he said. "What you have to take into consideration is that Jonas Björler [bass] wrote 40 percent of both 'Slaughter Of The Soul' and 'At War With Reality'. Some people seem to forget this. They just assume that the lead guitarist is the sole songwriter. Jonas had to take a lot more responsibility this time around, but me and him have had a really great and creative time writing this album. There is a slight change of direction, maybe, but AT THE GATES fans shouldn't be worried — it is still an AT THE GATES record. If anything, it is heavier and more death metal than the last one."
Lindberg said that new AT THE GATES guitarist Jonas Stålhammar came into the band too late to be involved in the composing process for the new disc. "This one is basically Jonas [Björler] and me when it comes to the writing. All the guys have contributed in some way, but the main writing comes from Jonas and me. Most of the songs were already in the finishing stages when Jonas Stålhammar joined, so there wasn't much time for him to contribute, but we look forward to having him more involved next time around."
AT THE GATES 2019 is:
Adrian Erlandsson - Drums
Jonas Björler - Bass
Tomas Lindberg - Vocals
Jonas Stålhammar - Guitar
Martin Larsson - Guitar 1

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER Uses Walking Cane While Performing On 'Monsters Of Rock' Cruise (Video)Fan-filmed video footage of U.D.O., the German heavy metal band fronted by former ACCEPT singer Udo Dirkschneider, performing aboard the ninth annual Monsters Of Rock cruise, can be seen below.
Udo used a walking cane for support during the Monsters Of Rock concert after recently dealing with a "serious health" issue.
The former ACCEPT frontman, who turned 66 last April, reportedly couldn't walk at all for an extended period after experiencing pain in his left knee. He later ignored doctors' advice when deciding whether to return to the road and joined his bandmates as they kicked off a European run of headlining shows on January 20 in Madrid, Spain.
In a 2018 interview with Minnesota's "The Five Count" radio show, Dirkschneider said that he had no thoughts of slowing down. "I like to be on tour," he said. "I like to make new albums and, you know, it's like I always say, as long as I have fun and my voice is working and people come to the shows, I don't know, maybe I can do this for another 10 years or whatever. I don't know. At the moment, there is no thinking of retiring or stuff like that."
Although it has been reported that Dirkschneider suffered a heart attack nearly 30 years ago, he told Metallian that the reality was a bit different. "Around 1990, I had — what is the word — a body breakdown and not a heart attack. I was overworked, singing, recording, writing songs, producing and even being a manager. I was working on other albums. It was too much. It was not a a heart attack. I remember the reports. I don't know where the report on a heart attack came from. In a way, I am lucky. I have never had a problem with my voice. I have managed to stay healthy. I also stopped smoking [in 2003]. Especially, while on tour, you have to do your best to stay healthy. I always say that I am lucky, I am very lucky. Of course, we get drunk sometimes, but I never party or take drugs or something like that. I have always been a healthy man."
U.D.O.'s current lineup includes Udo's son and drummer Sven Dirkschneider, bassist Tilen Hudrap and guitarists Andrey Smirnov and Dee Dammers.
Bassist Fitty Wienhold, who joined U.D.O. in 1996, announced his departure from the band in September, saying in a statement that he "decided to take a new way" in his life.
U.D.O.'s latest album, "Steelfactory", was released in August via AFM. 11
