QUEEN Music Video Director Says 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Sequel Is Being DiscussedA former director for QUEEN has told Page Six that a sequel to the band's biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" is "being heavily discussed." Rudi Dolezal — who became close with QUEEN singer Freddie Mercury during his life — also said that he is "sure" the group's manager Jim Beach "plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid."
QUEEN's six-song performance at Live Aid serves as the triumphant finale for "Bohemian Rhapsody", starring Rami Malek as Mercury. The movie has made more than $870 million worldwide and won four Oscars last month.
QUEEN guitarist Brian May has hinted that a "Bohemian Rhapsody" sequel could be in the works. He said in a December interview: "I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel."
At the moment, there are two other QUEEN-related films on the way: "Freddie Mercury: In His Own Words", a collection of Dolezal's interviews with the singer; and "The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story", which will air in April on ABC. Dolezal is also working on a book titled "My Friend, Freddie".
Dolezal worked with QUEEN on around 30 videos, including "These Are the Days of Our Lives", which was filmed in 1991, the same year Mercury died. 14

GARY HOEY Premiers "Your Kind Of Love" Lyric VideoMascot Label Group and Gary Hoey have announced a March 15th global release date for Neon Highway Blues via Provogue Records. The album’s eleven tracks display Hoey’s confidence and assuredness alongside the freshness of someone who's still in the process of discovery and refinement. A lyric video for the song "Your Kind Of Love" can be found below.
Hoey self-produced the album at his New Hampshire based home studio, while also enlisting friends Eric Gales, Lance Lopez. Josh Smith and his 17-year-old son Ian for guest appearances.
He shares, “I really wanted to make sure this album had a lot of Blues on it. I kept sticking to the Blues and listening to the classic players, all the Kings, Albert King, Freddie King, BB King, and finish with some Burger King (laughing)…tried to get that to be a focus of this record -- and still put some songs for that my long-time, die-hard fans expect; instrumentals and some rockin' Zeppelin type stuff. There's definitely a variety here."
Hoey’s 21st album, Neon Highway Blues, kicks off with "Under the Rug," a funky, Jeff Beck style workout with Eric Gales. Up next is the dynamic 6:29 slow blues "Mercy of Love," with Josh Smith, with biting guitar solos, Hoey gets his Texas swing on for "Still Believe in Love" and settles into some roadhouse shuffles on "Your Kind of Love," and "Damned If I Do," is a big, stomping Blues rocker with Lance Lopez trading licks. And those majestic instrumentals he mentioned? Check out "Almost Heaven," "Waiting on the Sun" and the cinematic title track, all showcases of virtuosity that complement the grittier fare around them.
A very personal highlight for Hoey is "Don't Come Crying," an aching blues track that features his son Ian Hoey, then only 16, planting his flag in the family business. "I'm so blown away my son is actually on the record," Hoey says. "He loves the blues. I said, 'If it turns out good enough, I'll have you on the record, and he did a great job. After it was mixed and I listened to it. I totally forgot where he was playing and where I was playing. It brought tears to my eyes."
Neon Highway Blues "wasn't a quick record to make," nor was it easy, according to Hoey, and displays the care that came with the time spent on it. "I always say that's why they call it the blues, because it ain't easy," he notes. The album took about a year and a half, he estimates, much of it done during gaps in his heavy touring schedule. "I just kept going in and trying to come up with the right licks or the right lyrics, and some days it just wouldn't come," Hoey recalls. "It was really about staying in there and trying things, abandoning some ideas, going on to new ideas. There was a lot of that on this record. I'm kind of a stickler for making sure I'm happy with it -- even though I had people breathing down my neck to get it done."
Neon Highway Blues will, of course, take Hoey back on the highways and byways for plenty of touring and playing, well, the blues -- and more. He can't yet predict where the next road will take him, but Hoey is confident it will be an adventure. "My son and I were talking about new music, some new technique I just found on guitar, and he said dad, 'You've been playing 44 years and still get excited.' I was like, 'Yeah, man, that's the amazing thing about music -- you never really get there. If you think you're there, that's when you’re in trouble because it’s all about the journey."
Neon Highway Blues is available to pre-order now and will be in stores March 15th. Pre-orders for autographed copies will also be available to purchase through the garyhoey.com store soon. Pre-order the album here.

S-TOOL Feat. Former SENTENCED Frontman VILLE LAIHIALA: New Single 'Hole' Out NowS-TOOL, the band featuring Ville Laihiala, best known for his work with Finnish metal elite acts such SENTENCED and POISONBLACK, has released a new single, "Hole". The track is once again focusing on gloomy subjects.
"The head is one big black hole and a chaos of thoughts," Laihiala explains. "A feeling that you should force open your skull, from which unsure thoughts get out. 'Hole' is also my own response to the amount of plastic produced. 'Hole' is a plastic-free piece of bullshit. Shit without a packet, if you like."
"Hole" is the first single from S-TOOL's forthcoming album, due this autumn via Playground Music.
S-TOOL released its debut album, "Tolerance 0", in 2017. The disc received a fine reception in Finland, and the song "Hammering" was a constant on the Finnish radio airwaves. The album was also released in the rest of Europe and Japan, where the record went to the top of the digital charts.
In addition to Laihiala, S-TOOL includes guitarist Sami Leppikangas and bassist Kimmo Hiltunen from the band LULLACRY and drummer Aksu Hanttu, known from his own metal band ENTWINE.
S-TOOL's name is an abbreviation of the heavy construction drill "Severing Tool." 3

Eventually, he would become one of the world’s most renowned voices in rock and metal.
Fifty years later, a celebratory box set - a limited edition release - celebrating the artistic production of the fine Norwegian singer is prepared with the intent of closing a major chapter of Jorn’s artistic career and opening up the “second phase” of his musical journey.

The new autobiography, I Talk Too Much, is to be published by Little, Brown on March 14th. This gripping brand-new book has been created in conjunction with award-winning writer and broadcaster Mick Wall, who has sold more than 1 million books. In this explosive new memoir, the famously indiscreet Rossi reveals the true-life stories behind his unbelievable career. Painfully honest at times, the book covers the glory years, the dark days, the ups and downs of his relationship with the late Rick Parfitt and the real stories behind the creation of some of the greatest rock music of all time.
Pre-order the book here.
Rossi will share the extraordinary secrets of his 50-plus years in rock’n’roll when he takes to the stage for an intimate evening at 36 theatres across the UK. Kicking off on March 20th, 2019 in Whitley Bay and culminating on May 20th in King’s Lynn, the I Talk Too Much tour, will feature Francis - joined by Mick Wall - sharing some of the best rock ’n’ roll stories ever, accrued during an extraordinary life on the road. Expect laughter, revelations, tales involving some of the giants of music, exclusive video clips, snatches of classic tunes and a great night out.
Rossi said: “This show is something new for me. It will be live and unscripted, so god knows what could happen! One thing's for sure though, it’ll be a white-knuckle ride for me, but fans will get a real unvarnished insight into what’s happened over the years. I’ll be taking a guitar along to demonstrate how some of those Quo classics came into being, and hopefully we’ll take a few questions from the audience too. It’s been quite a journey, there’s a lot to share.”
2019 will be a year like no other: with an album, book and tour, Francis Rossi has truly stretched himself creatively but is also connecting as never before with the loyal fanbase built up over fifty years of creating history with Quo. Honest to a fault and always good company, I Talk Too Much is aptly named, don’t miss Francis Rossi spilling the beans as never before.
I Talk Too Much UK Tour tickets available here.

IRON MAIDEN And ROBINSONS BREWERY Unveil 'Trooper Sun And Steel', A New Saké-Infused LagerSun And Steel is the first lager in the Trooper range and is one of the most complex beers that Robinsons Brewery have ever produced; a double fermented lager created with authentic Japanese saké yeast.
The idea for the beer, designed once again by IRON MAIDEN vocalist and beer aficionado Bruce Dickinson along with Robinsons's head brewer Martyn Weeks, was first conceived during the autumn of 2016 following a meeting between Bruce and friend of the band and longtime IRON MAIDEN fan George Yusa, owner of the 300-year-old family-run Okunomatsu Saké Brewery in Fukushima. Bruce became intrigued with the idea of putting the two flavor profiles together and thus Sun And Steel was born.
George was able to deliver a sample of the saké yeast to IRON MAIDEN's 2017 concert at London's O2 Arena, which Bruce took up to Robinsons Brewery. Having obtained permission from the Japanese government to brew with it, Martyn and the team have been carefully cultivating the strain ever since.
Dickinson commented: "This has been such an exciting project. I had a crazy idea to try and make a sake infused lager and over two and a half years later, here we are! I know Martyn and the team at Robinsons have had to become mad scientists to make this work, but the end result is a really unique hybrid beer that tastes fantastic. Trooper fans have been asking for a lager, and here it is. I bet you would never have guessed we would do it like this though!"
Sun And Steel takes its name from the IRON MAIDEN song of the same name that appears on their 1983 "Piece Of Mind" album, which was in turn inspired by the life of Japanese samurai Miyamoto Musashi.
Sun And Steel is a hybrid beer because it’s made with two yeasts. A lager yeast for the initial fermentation followed by a saké yeast for a second fermentation. The result? A delicate, subtle fruit flavor infused into a pilsner style lager.
Sun And Steel, the sixth beer in the Trooper range, will be available in the U.K. from May 6 in celebration of Trooper's sixth birthday, with the beer available worldwide from later in 2019. 9

THE PRODIGY Frontman KEITH FLINT Died By Hanging, Coroner SaysTHE PRODIGY singer Keith Flint died as a result of hanging, it has been revealed. He was found dead on March 4 at his home in Essex, a county in the southeast of England, northeast of London.
A postmortem was carried out on Flint's body last Thursday. The coroner's officer, Lynsey Chaffe, said during a two-minute hearing on Monday that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. "Police attended, all protocols were followed and his death was confirmed as not suspicious," she said.
Essex's senior coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray adjourned the inquest until July 23 for a full hearing.
THE PRODIGY was scheduled to embark on a U.S. tour in May. The 10-date trek was slated to include appearances at several festivals, including Sonic Temple in Ohio and Welcome To Rockville in Florida.
Originally recruited mainly as a dancer for THE PRODIGY, Flint became the voice and face of the group for its 1997 third album, "The Fat Of The Land". The breakout LP produced the hits "Breathe", "Firestarter" and the controversial "Smack My Bitch Up", reaching No. 1on the Billboard 200 in July 1997.
Flint's cartoonishly demonic look, punk attitude and frantic dance moves became the visual trademark of THE PRODIGY, one of the first electronic dance music acts to become a mainstream success. But Flint's role in the band was reduced after the release of another controversial track, "Baby's Got A Temper", in which Flint celebrated the "date rape" drug Rohypnol.
The singer/dancer did not appear on "The Fat Of The Land"'s 2004 follow-up "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned", which featured guest vocalists in his place. He returned for 2009's "Invaders Must Die", and contributed both vocals and songwriting to 2015's "The Day Is My Enemy" and THE PRODIGY's most recent LP, 2018's "No Tourists".
In 2006, Keith married Japanese DJ, actress and model Mayumi Kai, but the couple reportedly separated three years ago.
He previously admitted to a long battle with drink, drugs and depression and said his wife "saved him." 9

NEBULA To Release New Album In JuneDesert rock titans NEBULA have extended their record deal with cult and fuzz rock label Heavy Psych Sounds. The band is currently working in the studio with producer Matt Lynch on its first new album in 13 years for a June release.
Formed in 1997 by guitarist Eddie Glass and drummer Ruben Romano upon leaving FU MANCHU, NEBULA released its debut EP, "Let It Burn", via Tee Pee Records in 1998. From there, the group released two acclaimed full-lengths — "To The Center" (1999) and "Charged" (2001) — through Sub Pop Records, followed by two more (2003's "Atomic Ritual" and 2006's "Apollo") on Century Media's now-shuttered rock imprint Liquor And Poker Music. The group's most recent release was the 2009 EP "Heavy Psych".
NEBULA creates pure guitar-driven, conscious expanding rock for the 21st century. They are a culmination of their rock forbearers such as Jimi Hendrix, MC5, THE STOOGES and MUDHONEY turned up a notch, taken to the next level and blasting through space. NEBULA spread their gospel through their music and what they are preaching will leave the congregation on the floor.
In 2017 the band decided to reissue three of their crucial early works via Heavy Psych Sounds Records: "Let It Burn", "To The Center" and "Dos" EPs, which includes the material originally released on 1999's "Sun Creature" and a NEBULA/LOWRIDER split. Followed by the re-release of NEBULA's "Charged" and the special release of "Demos & Outtakes '98-02" in early 2019, this summer will see the band return with not only a new lineup but also a brand new full-length. Fans can also expect the band to extensively tour, beginning with the just-announced Heavy Psych Sounds Festival tour, consisting of two live dates in California this spring.
NEBULA is:
Eddie Glass (guitar, vocals)
Tom Davies (bass, backing vocals)
Michael Amster (drums)

AARON LEWIS Cuts Another Concert Short After Telling Crowd 'Shut The F**k Up Or I'm Done' (Video)STAIND's Aaron Lewis ended his solo concert early last night (Saturday, March 9) in Oklahoma after the crowd refused his plea for a brief moment of silence.
While performing at The Criterion in Oklahoma City, Lewis asked the audience to stay quiet so that he could perform a completely unplugged version of the STAIND song "Intro".
When it became apparent that the concert attendees weren't going to comply, Lewis got a bit exasperated and returned to the mic.
"Listen, if you don't shut the fuck up, you can't even hear the guitar," he said. "So shut up. I've got three more fucking minutes — three. Can you please for once…? Through the whole fucking evening, you guys have talked all fucking night. Shut the fuck up or I'm done."
Lewis then went back to the front of the stage, acoustic guitar in hand, and began strumming the song's first chords while continuing to talk to the crowd.
"It's so fucking ironic that this fucking song is a 'thank you,' and I can't get you to shut the fuck up to hear it," he said.
Lewis, still unable to quiet the crowd, went on to sing the first two lines of "Intro" before stopping, putting his guitar down and walking off stage while flicking his cup in frustration.
Video footage of the incident can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Justin Hunter").
This is the second time in as many months that Lewis cut one of his concerts short due to his inability to get the audience to stay quiet. In early February, Aaron walked off stage in Pharr, Texas when he was unsuccessful in convicining the crowd to stop the chatter while he performed a song without a microphone.
Two months earlier, a video surfaced of Lewis cursing at an Indianapolis concert-goer for calling out song titles while he was singing. "See that bald motherfucker right there," Aaron told the Indianapolis crowd. Make sure his walk out to his fucking car this evening is not that enjoyable."
The STAIND frontman first dipped his toes into country music with his 2011 EP, "Town Line". His second full-length album, "Sinner", arrived in the fall of 2016 and was followed by a stand-alone single, "Folded Flag".
Lewis will release his third full-length country album, "State I'm In", on April 12 via Big Machine imprint Valory Music. 12

MÖTLEY CRÜE's VINCE NEIL: 'Just Because We Stopped Touring Doesn't Mean We Broke Up'Vince Neil says that MÖTLEY CRÜE is very much an active entity despite the fact that the band completed its final tour more than three years ago.
"Just because we stopped touring doesn't mean we broke up," he told Finland's Kaaos TV in a new interview (hear audio below). "We just decided not to tour anymore. We still do things with the band. We're still gonna put out music, we're still gonna put out merchandise, we're still gonna do things as MÖTLEY CRÜE — except for tour. That's really it."
Vince went on to say that the upcoming release of the MÖTLEY CRÜE biopic "The Dirt" doesn't make him wish that the band could return to the road in support of the film.
"The movie's just another cool MÖTLEY CRÜE thing, and it kind of really has nothing to do with touring," he explained. "It's a movie. Who knows? In another four or five years, maybe we'll put something else out. I don't know. We're just gonna have to wait and see. Because I'm busy touring right now. I know the other guys have different projects too. And we'll see if we can fit in people's schedules whatever else comes up."
According to Vince, "The Dirt" turned out to be a much better movie than he initially expected.
"I was really pleasantly surprised, because I didn't know if it was gonna be this really low-budget film," he said. "Because you can make really bad films very easily. But after the first 10 minutes of watching the movie, I forgot it was about us and I just was enjoying a really good film."
Neil added that he had no trepidation about having an actor portray him on the screen in a movie based on MÖTLEY CRÜE's 2001 biography.
"It wasn't me that was nervous; it was actually the guy that played me [Australian-born actor Daniel Webber] who was nervous. He wanted to make sure he did a really good job. And he did. I think each guy that played each of the bandmembers pulled it off — I mean, exact. You get everybody's personalities right there on film. It's pretty neat to watch."
"The Dirt" will premiere on Netflix on March 22. The soundtrack will arrive the same day and features a string of CRÜE classics, as well as three new songs and a cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin". The first of the new tunes, "The Dirt (Est. 1981)", a collaboration with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, was released last month.
Machine Gun Kelly — whose real name is Colson Baker — plays MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee in the movie. "The Dirt" also stars Douglas Booth as bassist Nikki Sixx and Iwan Rheon ("Game Of Thrones") as guitarist Mick Mars.
"The Dirt" was picked up by Netflix after being previously developed at Focus Features and before that at Paramount.
In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.
To cement the sense of finality, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2014 publicly signed a "cessation of touring" contract that prevents any of them from performing under the CRÜE name in the future.
A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE's final shows, "The End", came out in 2016. 16

Watch JUDAS PRIEST Perform At DOWNLOAD Festival In Sydney, AustraliaFan-filmed video footage of JUDAS PRIEST's March 9 performance at the Sydney stop of Australia's Download festival can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Jim Dumay").
The band's setlist was as follows:
01. Firepower
02. Delivering the Goods
03. Sinner
04. Lightning Strike
05. Desert Plains
06. No Surrender
07. Turbo Lover
08. Guardians / Rising From Ruins
09. Freewheel Burning
10. You've Got Another Thing Comin'
11. Hell Bent for Leather
12. Painkiller
Encore:
13. The Hellion / Electric Eye
14. Breaking The Law
Last fall, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford spoke to "The Animal House Radio Show" about how he and his bandmates plan their stage shows and setlists.
"I think you have to kind of make overall sense of the great honor and privilege it's been to have been a great metal band like JUDAS PRIEST for almost 50 years," he said. "We're always stepping up to the plate. We never take anything for granted. We're very grateful to all of our fans around the world that have given us this long life in metal. So that's always in our minds. Wherever we work, whatever stage we set foot on in the world, [we] give a thousand percent. And to some extent, that's your responsibility — you don't wanna disappoint your fans; your fans have paid good money and they deserve to get the best that you can give. So that's all part of the philosophy of PRIEST. We love what we do, we have a lot of fun with what we do, but we take it deadly seriously. It's an important part of our being in JUDAS PRIEST. And because music is an emotionally based source of an exchange of power and energy, you have to be aware of how people are feeling. So that's just been the kind of mantra that PRIEST has always had from day one, which is to do our best and to give our best wherever we are in the world."
This past January, JUDAS PRIEST's European tour with Ozzy Osbourne was postponed after the BLACK SABBATH singer fell ill. Those dates have been rescheduled to begin in September.
Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of PRIEST, which formed in 1969. Halford joined the group in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then came back to PRIEST in 2003.
Tipton, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — announced in early 2018 that he was going to sit out touring activities in support of PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower". The guitarist, who is now 71 and has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live. He is being replaced on tour by "Firepower" album producer Andy Sneap, also known for his work as the guitar player in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT.
"Firepower" was released in March 2018 via Epic.
PRIEST will return to the United States in May for a run with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP.

Video: DARON MALAKIAN's SCARS ON BROADWAY Performs In Los AngelesFan-filmed video footage of SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian's side project, SCARS ON BROADWAY, performing Friday night (March 8) at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Kostya Danko"). The show was part of SCARS ON BROADWAY's short West Coast tour, which kicked off on March 3 in San Diego.
SCARS ON BROADWAY is touring in support of its latest album, "Dictator", which was released last July.
SCARS ON BROADWAY, now rebranded DARON MALAKIAN AND SCARS ON BROADWAY, has undergone a complete overhaul, with none of the members from the group's 2008 debut — including SYSTEM drummer John Dolmayan — appearing on the new songs.
Malakian explained the personnel changes in an online post, saying: "Nobody quit. When I first started SCARS, I always said that it would be different lineups from album to album. Depends on the type of direction I want to take. Different musicians work for different styles. That is partly why I added my name in front of the band's."
"Dictator" saw Malakian write, produce and play every instrument — including all vocals — over the course of a 10-day recording session. The album's cover art was created by Daron's father, Vartan Malakian, who also designed the artwork for SYSTEM OF A DOWN's twin 2005 releases, "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize".
"Dictator" was recorded in 2012 but remained unreleased until last year.
SCARS ON BROADWAY previously performed in 2012 as the opening act for DEFTONES in Los Angeles.
The group has only played live sporadically over the years: a headlining trek in 2008 was canceled, with Malakian citing his lack of enthusiasm and "his heart not being into touring" as the chief reasons behind the decision.
The guitarist later explained that he thought it was "almost too soon" for him to go on the road after SYSTEM OF A DOWN went on hiatus in 2006, also citing issues in his personal life that "made it impossible" for him to tour.
SYSTEM OF A DOWN, which has toured intermittently since ending its hiatus in 2011, has a couple of festival shows coming up in May but has not released new music in 14 years.

The label will reissue the group's acclaimed full-length debut, Sands Of Time, on May 24th on limited-edition double vinyl (the album's first-ever LP release), digital and compact disc.
The Sands Of Time reissue precedes major summer festival performances by the band – the UK's Ramblin' Man Fair, where they will perform on the Prog In The Park stage alongside Riverside, Pain of Salvation and Anathema, and at Slovenia's week-long Metaldays, which also features the likes of Dream Theater, Arch Enemy and Demons & Wizards, as well as Taihu Midi Festival in Suzhou near Shanghai, China May 4th.
Mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, BTBAM), featuring cover art by Drake Mefestta (Cradle of Filth, Michael Romeo, Devilment) and guest vocals from Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Jake E (Cyhra/ex-Amaranthe), Sands Of Time was originally self-released.
The new CD reissue will include a bonus acoustic piano demo of the brand-new song “Mist,” while the new gatefold double-LP edition will include the group's 2015 debut EP “Shadow” in its entirety on Side D – the first time that release has been offered on vinyl as well. Find preorders at the M-Theory store.
“We are very excited to be working with M-Theory Audio, whose philosophy of co-operation between artists mirrors our own,” says Scardust vocalist Noa Gruman. “It's great to have the 'Sands of Time' CD released globally, and the pressing of a double vinyl LP which will include our EP 'Shadow' is something that would have been impossible for us to do as an independent band. Signing with M-Theory, as well as working on new material and preparing for summer festivals, makes us feel that the future looks very bright for us, and we can't wait to bring our epic experience to new crowds and new heights.”

DISCIPLES OF POWER - In Dust We Trust Reissue Out NowFormed in Medicine Hat, Alberta, during the mid-'80s, Disciples Of Power is the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Hart Bachmier, who steered the group through more than a decade of demo recordings, record label woes, lineup changes, and four full-length albums—Power Trap, Ominous Prophecy, Invincible Enemy, and Mechanikill—before the band dissipated during the late-'90s. Throughout that time, Bachmier developed his high-speed tech-thrash attack toward an increasingly diverse and death metal-leaning approach; relentlessly promoting Disciples Of Power to the point of literally taking a Greyhound bus across Canada selling merchandise out of suitcases for a spell in the early-'90s. Disciples Of Power's live résumé was boosted through opening slots for such legends as Annihilator, Anvil, Exciter, Forbidden, Razor, Sacred Reich, and many more.
After a failed recording contract with Cargo Records and a parting of the ways with Fringe Product (Razor, Sacrifice, Slaughter, Corpus Vile, etc.) after two albums, Bachmier formed his own label - Mindt Gash Records - continuing his D.I.Y. approach by self-releasing Disciples Of Power's output from that point on. This self-reliant ethic continued when the band regrouped in the early-2000s, resulting in fifth and final - for now - album, In Dust We Trust. Conceived during a tenuous time for the lineup, In Dust We Trust remains a bit of an overlooked "black sheep" amidst the Disciples Of Power back catalog, despite putting forth some of the group's most memorable—and well-produced—progressive and technical death/thrash compositions.
So now, more than 15 years later, Divebomb Records is proud to shine a new light on this underrated gem from Disciples Of Power. Completely remastered by Jamie King at The Basement Recording, this edition of In Dust We Trust features reimagined cover art by Steven R. Cobb and a 16-page booklet featuring lyrics, photographs and an extensive retrospective interview with Hart Bachmier himself.

ASHEN HORDE Streaming New Track “Parity Lost”Hailing from the cold, unforgiving wastelands of Hollywood, California, Ashen Horde is a two-piece band that strives to embrace a multitude of extreme metal sub-genres, without being bound to any one of them. Drawing influence from metal’s crème de le extreme, from Enslaved and Devin Townsend to Ihsahn and Opeth, Ashen Horde (aka Trevor Portz and Stevie Boiser (Vale of Pnath, Inferi)), may have a sound rooted in death and black metal, but can’t truly be called either.
Completing their third full length, Fallen Cathedrals, the concept album is in the vein of J.G. Ballard’s dystopian novel High Rise, and explores class warfare and a society’s descent into primitive, warring tribes. Musically, the album expands further on the complexities of the band’s earlier releases, but with even more emphasis on progressive and melodic elements, even incorporating clean vocals for the first time. It will appeal to fans of the more progressive side of extreme metal, from Ihsahn and Borknagar to Opeth and Enslaved.
Set to be released on CD, vinyl and digitally in Europe and North America on March 22nd, 2019 via Extreme Metal Music/Rockshots Records, the duo is premiering the concept album's second single and opening track "Parity Lost".
The band explains the track:
"'Parity Lost' sets the stage not only for the Fallen Cathedrals album, but also serves as a summary of what Ashen Horde is all about. It contains elements of black metal, death metal, and prog, all stitched together in a ball of controlled chaos. Lyrically, it lays the groundwork for the album’s story—a city divided by wealth, with the most affluent on one side, and those struggling to make ends meet on the other. The rich look at the poor as a lazy and low class, while the poor look at the rich as snobby and self-indulgent. Tensions have intensified with each passing year, and the precarious balance is about to be shattered…"
Portz states: "The forthcoming album, Fallen Cathedrals, is the perfect illustration of what Ashen Horde is all about. Musically, it draws influence from across the metal spectrum. There is hyper speed, blast-beat-fueled black metal that runs alongside pummeling death metal riffs; clean-sung melodic passages juxtaposed against face-melting screams, and headbanging beats intermixed with progressive odd-time signatures."
Tracklisting:
"Parity Lost"
"Profound Darkness"
"Retaliation-Regret"
"The Vanishing"
"Atavism"
"Cages"
"Final Ascent"
"Face Of The Enmity"
"Primal" (bonus track on CD only)
"Parity Lost":

- Music and lyrics by Trevor Portz, with additional lyrics by Stevie Boiser

Watch HEART's ANN And NANCY WILSON Perform Together For First Time In Three Years At 'Love Rocks NYC' EventHEART's Ann and Nancy Wilson took the stage together for the first time in three years last night (Thursday, March 7) at the "Love Rocks NYC" all-star benefit at New York City's Beacon Theatre. The third-annual event "raises money for God's Love We Deliver — which provides curated meals for those living with illness in the NYC area." Among the other artists who appeared at the event were Robert Plant, Sheryl Crow, ZZ TOP's Billy F. Gibbons, Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, Lukas Nelson, Jimmie Vaughan, Doyle Bramhall II, Ivan Neville, Larkin Poe and former Yankee Bernie Williams.
Nancy and Ann played "These Dreams" and "Crazy On You". At the show's end, they — along with Grace Potter, Nelson and Mahal — joined Plant for a rendition of Big Joe Turner's "Shake, Rattle and Roll". They also struck around for a rendition of TRAFFIC's "Feelin' Alright".
HEART will return to the road in 2019 for the "Love Alive" cross-country summer tour. Produced by Live Nation, the expansive 39-city outing by the trend-setting, multiple-platinum Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame legends kicks off Tuesday, July 9 at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, Missouri and will make stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Denver and more, before wrapping September 9 at the famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
HEART will be joined by JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS, Sheryl Crow and Brandi Carlile on the road this summer. Along with the stellar lineup, also appearing are Elle King and Lucie Silvas.
Nancy and Ann Wilson had a falling out during HEART's 2016 tour, when Ann's husband Dean Welter was arrested for assaulting Nancy's then-16-year-old twin sons in a backstage altercation at a gig near their hometown of Seattle. He pleaded guilty to two lesser assault charges to avoid jail time, but the damage to HEART had been done.
During an appearance on the "Let There Be Talk" podcast, Nancy spoke about the incident which caused HEART to go on a kind of hiatus for the past two years. "There was a family drama that was highly uncalled for and unnecessary and hurtful, and it was just one of those things that takes time to get past," she said. "So, a couple of years have gone by. It's not anything that Ann ever did wrong, or I ever did wrong, but it's just one of those family dramas that just happened, and it just kind of poisoned the atmosphere for a while there. So it's good. I've had a real positive feeling about now that I'm communicating directly more with Ann."
Asked who it was that made the initial contact about a possible reunion tour, Nancy said: "I've been sort of [reaching out to Ann] for a while, but she was kind of busy and, I think, scared to talk. And I kind of said, 'I'm not ever gonna confront you about anything, but there is this huge offer on the table, so we should talk — just the two of us.'"

BLACK VEIL BRIDES Singer Releases Video For Title Track Of Second Solo Album, 'The Ghost Of Ohio'BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Black) is giving fans another sneak preview of his much-anticipated sophomore solo album, "The Ghost Of Ohio" (Lava/Republic), with today's release of the title track. An accompanying music video, which was directed by Patrick Fogarty, can be seen below.
"The Ghost Of Ohio" follows the recent release of lead track and video, "Westwood Road", which was directed by Martin Landgreve and Magnus Jonsson and has already amassed over a million YouTube views.
Both "Westwood Road" and "The Ghost Of Ohio" are available as instant downloads when pre-ordering the album ahead of its April 12 release date.
About the "The Ghost Of Ohio" title track, Black says: "I grew up in southwestern Ohio and moved to Los Angeles at age 18. I've been on the road for essentially my entire adult life, but some part of me always has this intrinsic connection to the town I am from and the good and bad times I experienced there. This song and video both represent the idea of viewing your home from the perspective of an outsider. I wanted to explore the idea of what it feels like to be 'home' but feel a million miles away even though you're surrounded by all the things you are most familiar with."
He continued: "Since the record is also the companion piece to a graphic novel of the same name that follows the titular character in a fictional version of my hometown, I wanted to capture that feeling in the video. This is 'the ghost' haunting his own memories and experiences. One of my favorite music videos is [Bruce] Springsteen's 'Streets Of Philadelphia' and I hoped to capture that same sort of vibe with this video.
"My grandmother's birthday happened to fall around the same time that we were in Cincinnati filming the video and it was such a great experience getting to spend that day with her. The following day we shot in her house for hours. I'd say about 30 percent of the video is in her house (attic, back yard, etc.), which is a place I spent a tremendous amount of time as a child. Also, we were able to put photos of both her and my late grandfather in the video, which was very special to me! It's her voice you hear say 'he's the ghost of Ohio' in the outro of the song."
"The Ghost Of Ohio" sees Black re-teaming with Grammy-nominated producer John Feldmann (BLINK-182, PANIC! AT THE DISCO), who helmed 2016's acclaimed debut, "The Shadow Side". "Westwood Road" was mixed by Grammy winner Neil Avron (TWENTY ONE PILOTS, THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS). The new album is semi-autobiographical, mining the haunted history of Black's hometown to tell a story that explores his childhood anxieties and obsessions.
Black, who's always had a reverence for the magical convergence of sight and sound, created the diverse album to also serve as a soundtrack for its graphic novel counterpart, marrying melancholy themes with upbeat rock and pop to tell the tale of someone who died young and whose spirit inhabits an area for a hundred years looking for ways to connect. The album's artwork was painted by Eliran Kantor (ICED EARTH, TESTAMENT).
Black will support the album with "The Ghost Of North America" tour, a headlining run that will kick off April 7 at Ace of Spades in Sacramento, California.
Black, born Andy Biersack, left Cincinnati for Hollywood at age 18. He lived out of his car, broke, and as Rolling Stone once put it, "subsisting on visions of what would become his wildly successful glam-metal outfit, BLACK VEIL BRIDES." By his early 20s, he led BLACK VEIL BRIDES on extensive world tours, released a string of Billboard Top 10 and 20 albums and was splashed across the covers and pages of magazines ranging from AP to Italian Vogue.
On the "The Shadow Side", Biersack stretched his creative wings beyond the blueprint of the vintage-Sunset-Strip-meets-modern-hard-rock-vibe of BLACK VEIL BRIDES. "That album was the beginning of a return to who I've always wanted to be," he says. "A rediscovering of my deepest roots."
"'The Ghost Of Ohio' is the next step. It's a full embrace of my long-held passion for imagination, stretching back to when I discovered my dad's KISS trading cards in the basement and walked my neighborhood streets dressed up like Batman." 1

PATRICK MAMELI Says Record Companies Are 'A Little Bit Scared Of' Signing PESTILENCEGuitarist/vocalist Patrick Mameli of Dutch death metal veterans PESTILENCE recently spoke to Metal Underground about the importance of maintaining a signature sound while progressing musically with each new album.
"I always try to use elements that I've done before," he said (see video below). "With me not listening to other metal that much, I don't get influenced, so it's always pure PESTILENCE music. So whenever comes by or you hear a certain song, you automatically hear it's PESTILENCE. Every album kind of has a different flavor, different vocals.
"I'm not one of those guys that always comes up with the same ground," he continued. "For me, it gets really boring if it's always the same. But I have a feeling that a lot of the fans do want that — they want that continuum going. Look at CANNIBAL CORPSE. Look at OBITUARY. All these bands haven't changed one bit, yet they're very successful. So that means that it has something to do with keeping the style pure and true. But for me, I like to progress a little bit more. It makes it more interesting also for me, but that's also a risk. 'Cause if you try to do something else, there might be a risk that the fans don't wanna pick it up anymore. So that's difficult."
According to Mameli, PESTILENCE does not attract as much record company interest as some other bands because of his knack for pushing the boundaries with his music.
"Record companies, they're very sensitive to those album sales, since there's no money to be made with album sales anymore," he said. "People in record companies, they're a little bit scared of us, because, 'What's he gonna do next? Is is marketable? Can we do something with it?' And [2018's] 'Hadeon' was such a perfect album for me to continue, and yet it's not in the Top 10 or something, which I don't understand. There are all these other bands out there that… I think they were born with Pro Tools or Cubase where making a song is like putting 30, 40 riffs at hyperspeeds. They lack technique, their lack of understanding of the instrument itself, so they depend on technology to fix that for them. I don't think that some of these guys can play what they actually put on the album. And I think that's a bad side effect of technology."
PESTILENCE's latest album, "Hadeon", was released in March 2018 via Hammerheart. 11

Former AEROSMITH Guitarist JIMMY CRESPO Out Of ICU, Remains Hospitalized After FallFormer AEROSMITH lead guitarist Jimmy Crespo is "doing much better," several days after injuring his head in a fall.
Jimmy, who is best known as the man who replaced Joe Perry in AEROSMITH from 1979 to 1984, is expected to be released from the hospital "soon."
Earlier today, former L.A. GUNS singer Chris Van Dahl, who played with Jimmy in THE JIMMY CRESPO PROJECT, posted an update on his bandmate's condition, writing on Facebook: "Leaving the hospital now where I have been visiting with Jimmy and Cynthia Crespo.
"I'm happy to report (With Jimmy and Cynthia's blessing) that Jimmy has been downgraded from the ICU and is doing much better.
"For those of you who have been asking about what happened? Several days ago, Jimmy slipped and hit his head extremely hard. Up until recently his speech center was affected. Can't tell you how happy I am to report that that certainly wasn’t the case today. We had a wonderful conversation and visited for quite some time.
"On behalf of Jimmy, Cynthia and myself, thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and positive energy!
"Jimmy will be out of the hospital soon enough and back to doing what it is he does best. Playing!"
In addition to appearing on AEROSMITH's "Night In The Ruts" album, Jimmy co-wrote the majority of songs and performed almost all the guitar on "Rock In A Hard Place". He later said that couldn't listen to the latter record for years because "it brought back too many bad memories." He explained to RockMusicStar.com: "Everything ended on a sour note. It took two years to make that record. Steven Tyler was having issues, problems during that period. He was in and out of drug mayhem. He was getting in accidents. Who knows if that was just his way of getting out of doing things or whatever it was? But we couldn't get him locked down and he wouldn't let anyone in the band write any lyrics. It had to be all him during that time. Of course, later on he started accepting other people's songs. But when I was there, he was the 'guy' in charge to decide what AEROSMITH would sound like. And everything revolved on 'When can Steven do it?' 'Can he do it today? No, he's in the hospital.' I mean, it was all this. It was drama. So CBS Records kept picking up the tab. And then they would send us out on tour to help cover the expenses. But just here and there, but not a real tour that would bring in money. So that's how we broke the bank."
Asked how he was informed that AEROSMITH decided to get Joe Perry back in the band, Jimmy said: "Well, let me take it back a year prior to that moment. The last year that I was with them, I was giving the option of staying or leaving because there was no more money, no more touring, CBS wouldn't shell out a dime for the new record because Steven at the time was so non-productive. And because 'Rock In A Hard Place' didn't sell the millions of records that they were use to AEROSMITH selling, after the $1.5 million they spent and didn't recoup, they just put a stop to all money. So there was no money coming in, no touring. So, I had a choice to stay and help get Steven to start writing again or whatever. I stayed for that period, but it became a moot point. He would just not do it. We would make attempts at getting him in the studio and listening to the stuff that I had written and that others had written, but he just wouldn't do it. After nine months of that nonsense, Steven and Joe started talking about getting the original band back together and get some interest back from CBS to support that. I was informed by their manager, David Krebs, that they were going to go with the original lineup. And I said that I think that that's a great idea. I was totally burnt at the time. I know that there was no way that I could make AEROSMITH happen. It wasn't in my power. It would have to be some other miraculous person or the original band. It made sense to me, even though it really sucked for me, because I felt like I failed and I really don't like that. But it was the right thing to do."
Update on Jimmy Crespo.
Leaving the hospital now where I have been visiting with Jimmy and Cynthia Crespo.
I’m happy to...Posted by Chris VanDahl on Saturday, March 9, 2019

BARONESS Performs New Song 'Borderlines' Live For First Time (Video)Savannah, Georgia metal band BARONESS played a new song, "Borderlines", live for the first time Friday night (March 8) at the opening concert of the band's co-headlining tour with DEAFHEAVEN in Houston, Texas. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
"Borderlines" will appear on BARONESS's fifth album, apparently titled "Gold & Grey", which is due later in the year.
BARONESS guitarist/vocalist John Baizely recently told Radioactive MikeZ about the group's current co-headlining tour with DEAFHEAVEN: "It came together the way most tours do. The idea for the tour and most of the heavy lifting for the routing and booking came in advance of us wrapping up the mastering on the record, so I was very much in studio mode while this tour was being put together. The band definitely has an extremely long history of playing tours on which we are not the most obvious example or choice for an opening band or a support, co-headline, you name it. I think it's been important to BARONESS over the years to really try to stick our necks out whenever possible and get out on tour with a very broad, very diverse cross-section of bands that have different sounds, if for no other reason [that] it puts us to the test and makes us play really hard, and keeps us on our toes and makes sure that we never get entirely comfortable or settle into a routine with anything, which I think drives the four of us to become better musicians. Regarding DEAFHEAVEN, I think it's also worth noting that we and they and a handful of other bands out there that play and tour at the level we do might not share 100 percent musically, but we do share similar backgrounds. We come from the same sorts of scenes, and in doing so, we've got a lot of friends in common. We've known those guys for a few years now, so that was one of the other reasons [it was] cool for us to do this tour. Generally speaking, [it's] a better idea for us to get out on tour when we're friendly with the bands that we're touring with. It makes the experience for us more rewarding."
BARONESS released its Grammy-nominated fourth album, "Purple", in 2015.
Baizley, who, Stereogum said, creates "the most unique, intriguing, stylish" album covers, has crafted the art for all four of BARONESS's albums as well as the outfit's EPs.
BARONESS is Baizley, Gina Gleason (guitar), Nick Jost (bass) and Sebastian Thomson (drums). 4

LION'S SHARE Releases New Single And Lyric Video, 'Chain Child'Swedish heavy metal band LION'S SHARE has made a new song, "Chain Child", available on streaming services and digital service providers.
LION'S SHARE singer Nils Patrik Johansson states: "The new single, 'Chain Child', is about futuristic cyber violence. It's an old-school style rocker with a modern touch. It's our way to honor our heroes and the bands we grew up with, like SAXON, DIO, JUDAS PRIEST, etc. It's quite possible it will be part of the new album we are working on as well."
In late 2018, LION'S SHARE released a new five-track EP, plus its complete catalog — remastered with new artwork — on streaming services and digital service providers for the first time. The LION'S SHARE catalog features appearances by current and former members of KISS, MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, HAMMERFALL, SYMPHONY X, CHIMAIRA, THERION, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and CANDLEMASS. Mixers include top engineers such as Jens Bogren (ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, SYMPHONY X, AMON AMARTH), Niklas Flyckt (one-time Grammy Award winner and four-time nominee) and Ronny Lahti (ROXETTE, EUROPE, GLENN HUGHES).
LION'S SHARE guitarist Lars Chriss says: "We have 25 songs written for the next LION'S SHARE album and we're halfway through the recordings, so we hope to have a new album out in 2020. We have also signed with a manager for the first time, and he's currently looking into booking festivals and shows to promote it." 5
