ROTTING CHRIST Debut Official Video For "The Sixth Day"
Rotting Christ have released a video for "The Sixth Day", the track featured on the band's new album, Pro Xristou. Check out the new clip below:
Rotting Christ have stood the test of time. While their name has caused plenty of gatekeepers to clutch their pearls, Sakis Tolis and has brother Themis have risen from Greece's blackened catacombs to one of metal's most formidable bands.
This year, Rotting Christ are celebrating 35 years of evil excellence with their 14th album. ΠΡΟ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥ (Pro Xristou) is bound to hold a revered place in the band's heretical history. Always true to their name, with Pro Xristou ("Before Christ"), the band pay tribute to the last of the Pagan kings by offering up more towering, gothic, melodic black metal.
"This album was inspired by the might of ancient pagan wisdom", says Sakis. "It's a tribute to those who resisted the coming of Christianity, which destroyed all the values, traditions and knowledge of the ancient world".

Rotting Christ invite you to partake in a monumental crusade across Europe. Frontman Sakis comments: "Dear Metal brothers & sisters, we can proudly announce that we celebrate our 35 years of existence with the release of our new album Pro Xristou & some special shows on European soils this Autumn. Together with the Scandinavian Pagan Metal Kings Borknagar and French diabolical horde Seth we promise to perform a hell of a show every night! Thanks for your attention and look forward to seeing you all in the battlefield!"
The Greek forebearers will share stages with Norway's progressive black metal giants Borknagar, whose profound musical narratives have sculpted their undisputed place within the genre. Alongside them, France's Seth will bring their own brand of fervent intensity and atmospheric ferocity to the mix. Together, they stand as a triad set to invigorate and bewitch audiences across the continent.
Borknagar: "We are honoured and incredibly exited to announce our upcoming co-headline tour across the European lands with our brothers in music, and true legends, Rotting Christ! In 2022, during the aftermath of the Corona pandemic, we teamed up for a highly successful tour across the North Americas as a part of the Devastation On The Nation festival tour. Now, armed and ready with the new respective albums, Fall and Pro Xristou, it's time to team up once again for a epic European adventure. This one shall be for the books- powerful, passionate and legendary!"
Seth: "Sharing the stage for a whole month with thy mighty Rotting Christ is thrilling! This will be our third European tour in over 25 years and definitely the biggest journey that we've ever had! We can't think of any better band on Season of Mist roster to promote La France des Maudits!"

POWERWOLF Enter Official German Album Charts At #1 For Fourth Time With Wake Up The Wicked
Powerwolf’s brand-new album, Wake Up The Wicked, tops the Official German Album Charts, adding yet another #1-charting record to the most successful current heavy metal band’s outstanding discography. It’s the fourth #1 entry after Preachers Of The Night (2013), The Sacrament Of Sin (2018) and The Monumental Mass – A Cinematic Metal Event (2022).
Powerwolf’s first-class songs and videos have gained tens of millions of streams and views over the years, with the new singles already showing potential to exceed previous successes - as the cinematic, extremely high-quality music videos for the first two singles have already surpassed 1M views.
Alongside their praised, massively successful releases, Powerwolf have earned their standing at the very top of the current metal scene through playing headline and premium slots at essential rock and metal festivals such as Wacken, Hellfest and Graspop, as well as with the band’s huge sold-out arena shows. At the end of this month, the Wolfpack will begin their full North American headline tour, leading to their biggest European tour so far, Wolfsnächte 2024, in October.
Attila Dorn states: "Our friends: You did it again! Our new album Wake Up The Wicked tops the official German Album charts, marking the fourth No. 1 album in the history of Powerwolf! Thank you all for your loyalty and enthusiasm – that’s what fuels the pack! See you all on tour to celebrate that together!"
Napalm Records Founder and Managing Director Markus Riedler adds: "Quality and consistency find their way to the top with Powerwolf! We at Napalm Records are happy and grateful that we have been able to accompany the band for over 12 years. The continued growth and international chart successes are now filling large arenas. The Heavy Metal Wolf simply inspires young and old and once again deservedly sits at the top of the German charts. Another number one, which we can also celebrate thanks to our in-house distributor SPV GmbH. Many thanks for the great work!"
Wake Up The Wicked - the successor to the previous studio album, Call Of The Wild (2021) - is out just in time for the band’s first ever full North American tour, starting in August, followed by their biggest European headline tour to date, the Wolfsnächte 2024.
Wake Up The Wicked is once again produced by the outstanding Joost van den Broek at Sandlane Recording Facilities and marks a new benchmark and undisputed career highlight for the band. The new album is hard, surprising and full of variety. While staying true to their established, loved sound, Powerwolf go one step further and showcase a different facet of their deft musical and technical skills.
20 years after their formation in 2004, Powerwolf are expanding their repertoire with the highest quality and adding many future live hits to their extraordinary discography. Wake Up The Wicked is yet another statement cementing the status of the band as a leading force in the world of heavy metal.

FATE To Release Reconnect ‘N Ignite Album In October; "Around The Sun" Single And Video Out Now
Legendary Danish band, Fate, announce their new studio album, Reconnect ‘N Ignite, scheduled for release on October 18 via Frontiers Music Srl. The first single and video, "Around The Sun", is out now and is available on all streaming platforms.
Watch the official video for "Around The Sun" below, and pre-order Reconnect ‘N Ignite here.
Guitarist Torben Enevoldsen expresses his excitement for the new album: "We are very much looking forward to Reconnect 'N Ignite, and can't wait for everyone to hear the new songs. We are all very excited about the new material and are anxious to present it to our fans, old and new ones alike!"
Describing the first single, Torben continues, "'Around The Sun' is a song that we are all very proud of. The song can be interpreted in many ways, but is basically about how quickly time goes by and how fleeting every moment can be. If there's a moral to it, it would probably be to seize the day."
Originally formed in late '84 in Copenhagen by Hank Sherman following his departure from Mercyful Fate, the band got their first record deal with the Danish EMI, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1985.
1988 saw the first line-up change in the history of Fate, as Hank Sherman left the combo and the band entered a difficult period of their career, until the release of Scratch N Sniff, in 1990, when the guys returned to their initial strongest sound and becoming a more mature band, this also thanks to the new powerhouse singer Peer Johansson.
Peer's powerful voice was the major addition to the sound of the band and his input on Scratch N Sniff was tremendous. After several tours in 1990/91, Fate was joined by a new guitarist: the talented Søren Hoff and they started to record new demos before to split up.
In 2006 Fate released V, after getting together to perform at the prestigious Deep Impact Festival in Germany in 2005. The band got so many good responses from fans and media that they decided to continue.
In the beginning of 2011 Danish guitar hero Torben Enevoldsen (Section A/ Fatal Force) replaced Søren Hoff, and the band recorded Ghost From The Past and later in 2013 If Not For The Devil.
V, Ghost From The Past and If Not For The Devil were reissued digitally last December, including four previously unreleased bonus tracks.
Reconnect ‘N Ignite sees the band in a state of grace, with a brilliant guitar work from Torben, a tight rhythm section, classy synth arrangements and the amazing Peer’s voice, that once again shows his incredible talent. Songs like "Reason For Everything" will be stuck into the fans’ head for a long time.
Reconnect ‘N Ignite tracklisting:
"Around The Sun"
"Reason For Everything"
"This Won’t Last"
"I’m On Fire"
"Running"
"Hold On"
"Nowhere To Run"
"When It’s Over"
"Children Of A Lesser God"
"Feel The Burn"
"Under The Gun"

The first Wacken Open Air event in 1990 drew less than 800 people, but it has since grown to become the biggest open-air festival of its kind.
Around 30 percent travel from other countries to the festival, which over recent years has been growing in popularity.
Wacken Open Air was forced to take a break for two years due to coronavirus restrictions.
Wacken Open Air normally does not announce the names of its headliners before tickets go on sale. Still, the festival usually sells out within hours.
The festival also doesn't sell VIP access or upgrades and all purchases are for all the days without a single-day ticket option, something they did away with two decades ago. | +3

SKID ROW Pays Tribute To AEROSMITH: 'Their Energy, Talent And Passion For Music Have Always Been An Inspiration To Us'
SKID ROW has reacted on social media to the news that AEROSMITH is officially retiring from touring after Steven Tyler's vocal injury.
The legendary Massachusetts rockers made the announcement on Friday, August 2 — nearly one year after the now-76-year-old singer fractured his larynx during a September 2023 show.
Earlier today, SKID ROW took to the band's social media to share the following message: "We were honored to share the stage with the legendary AEROSMITH for their 'Pump' tour in 1989 - 1990. Their energy, talent, and passion for music have always been an inspiration to us and countless others. As they retire from the touring stage, we want to celebrate their incredible career and the indelible mark they've left on us and rock 'n' roll history. Here's to AEROSMITH's amazing journey and the countless memories they've created for fans worldwide. Thank you for the music and memories!"
SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo commented: "Touring with AEROSMITH was one of the greatest times in the history of our band. Every night, no matter how good of a show we thought we had, they would go out and show us, and the rest of the world, why they are one of the most legendary and iconic bands in the annals of rock 'n' roll. And as great of a band as they are, they are even better people! They treated us so amazingly and taught us humility, gratitude and grace in the midst of their immense success.
"Thank you so much to the boys in AEROSMITH for giving a bunch of punks from NJ the opportunity and the honor to share the stage with absolute legends! And for giving the world some of the greatest music ever created!! There will never be another AEROSMITH!"
SKID ROW guitarist Scotti Hill added: "The few months we spent on tour with AEROSMITH was a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being able to sit and talk guitars with Brad and Joe. Saying hi to Steven in a backstage hallway as he chomped a plain baked potato to carb load before a show. Feeling that instantly recognizable groove of Tom and Joey every night. Unforgettable in every way. Thank you, AEROSMITH."
SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan said: "For me personally, it was the first time we toured with the band that influenced my playing and my songwriting. Every time I ran into one of those guys in the hallway or they walk[ed] into the dressing room, I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming."
In AEROSMITH's original announcement, the band wrote: "As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.
"We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage," the statement continued. "We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time."
The band also thanked its fans for their constant support.
"Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades," the statement read. "Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock 'n' roll history."
"It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives," the statement continued.
The "Peace Out" tour came to a halt after what turned out to be a final gig in Elmont, New York on September 9, 2023. That show came just three dates into the trek, which was supposed to last through February 2024. Tyler said in a statement at the time that the injury caused bleeding but that he hoped he and his AEROSMITH bandmates would be back on the road after postponing a few shows.
The rescheduled "Peace Out" tour was due to begin September 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with special guests THE BLACK CROWES.
Tickets for remaining dates of the "Peace Out" tour will be refunded through Ticketmaster. If fans purchased tickets through a third-party reseller like StubHub or SeatGeek, refunds will be available through that point of purchase.
AEROSMITH hasn't made a studio album since "Music From Another Dimension!", which came out in 2012.
Tyler released a solo LP in 2016.

Watch: TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Joins ACCEPT For 'Balls To The Wall' Performance At WACKEN OPEN AIR
Former JUDAS PRIEST and current KK'S PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens joined ACCEPT on stage on Thursday, August 1 at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany to perform the ACCEPT classic "Balls To The Wall". Video of his appearance can be seen below.
As previously reported, KK'S PRIEST, which features Owens and fellow former JUDAS PRIEST member K.K. Downing (guitar),alongside guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE),bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX) and drummer Sean Elg (DEATHRIDERS, CAGE),will join forces with ACCEPT this summer/fall 2024 for a North American tour. The massive run will begin on August 31 in Los Angeles, California, visiting a slew of major cities in the USA and Canada — such as Toronto, Montreal, New York and Nashville — before coming to an end in San Francisco, California on October 7.
Downing said: "It's time!!! Let the full European metal assault commence, KK'S PRIEST / ACCEPT. Not since 1983 have we shared the same battleground. From Germany, from the U.K., let the Flying Vs clash, let the metal fly! All in the name of defending our beloved heavy metal music, let the people come from all walks of life to witness the battle royal. There is no doubt that we warriors of metal will give every ounce of our energy and our power in order to deliver up our very finest performance. This is a spectacle not to be missed, and this is possibly the one and only time in history for you to witness this iconic duel. Who will be the victor? You will be the judge, let the music begin from early August to early October... The arena awaits!!"
ACCEPT's Wolf Hoffmann added: "This tour with KK'S PRIEST is a dream come true for ACCEPT and for me personally.
"ACCEPT supported JUDAS PRIEST back in the early '80s — it was our first 'real' international tour and PRIEST had been a huge influence on us.
"I'm really looking forward to reconnecting with K.K. on this very special tour. It's going to be epic! Don't miss it!"
KK'S PRIEST's first-ever U.S. headlining tour, which featured support from L.A. GUNS and BURNING WITCHES, kicked off on March 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and concluded on March 24 at Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
KK'S PRIEST's sophomore album, "The Sinner Rides Again", came out in September 2023 via the Austrian label Napalm Records.
KK'S PRIEST made its live debut on July 6, 2023 at Downing's KK's Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
K.K. formed KK'S PRIEST after JUDAS PRIEST turned down his offer to rejoin the band for their 50th-anniversary tour. It followed a couple of celebrated stage appearances, first with former MANOWAR guitarist Ross The Boss in the summer of 2019, then with a one-off lineup that included former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and former PRIEST drummer Les Binks later that year.
KK'S PRIEST released its debut album, "Sermons Of The Sinner", in October 2021 via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records.
Downing spent four months writing and recording "Sermons Of The Sinner" and, along with new ideas, he even resurrected a few archived riffs from the 1980s.
Downing was reunited with JUDAS PRIEST for a performance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in November 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
PRIEST received the Musical Excellence Award at the event, which honored Eminem, Dolly Parton, DURAN DURAN, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, EURYTHMICS and Carly Simon in the Performers category.
Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.
In 2019, Downing said that he reached out to JUDAS PRIEST about taking part in the band's 50th-anniversary tour but that their response was that they were not interested in including him in the celebrations.
In 2018, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."
Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from touring.
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 and recorded two studio albums with the band — 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" — before PRIEST reunited with Rob Halford in 2003.
ACCEPT's latest album, "Humanoid", was released on April 26 via Napalm Records. The LP was once again produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by critically acclaimed heavy metal producer Andy Sneap.
In the fall of 2022, ACCEPT completed a North American tour with support from NARCOTIC WASTELAND. The band played a career-spanning set of new and classic tracks, including mega-hits "Balls To The Wall", "Princess Of The Dawn", "Fast As A Shark" and many more.
In February 2022, it was announced that ACCEPT had inked a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.
ACCEPT's previous album, "Too Mean To Die", came out in January 2021 via Nuclear Blast. The LP was the group's first without bassist Peter Baltes, who exited ACCEPT in November 2018. He has since been replaced by Martin Motnik. ACCEPT's lineup has also been expanded with the addition of a third guitarist, the aforementioned Philip Shouse, who originally filled in for Uwe Lulis during 2019's "Symphonic Terror" tour, before being asked to join the band permanently.
Mark Tornillo joined ACCEPT in 2009 as the replacement for the band's original lead singer, Udo Dirkscheider. He can be heard on ACCEPT's last six studio albums, "Blood Of The Nations" (2010),"Stalingrad" (2012),"Blind Rage" (2014),"The Rise Of Chaos" (2017),2021's "Too Mean To Die" and 2024's "Humanoid".

SAMMY HAGAR And MICHAEL ANTHONY Pay Tribute To AEROSMITH After Retirement Announcement
Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony paid tribute to AEROSMITH after the legendary rockers announced they were retiring from the road.
During the encore portion of Hagar's concert on Friday (August 2) at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, which is part of his "The Best Of All Worlds" tour, Sammy addressed the crowd, saying: "We had some crazy news today. We got here this afternoon sometime and we're all sitting around backstage and a friend of ours that works for AEROSMITH came and said, 'Yeah, AEROSMITH called retirement today. They quit. They stopped.' God bless 'em.
"It's a horrible thing. It's a horrible thing. What a great fucking loss," he continued.
"I gotta tell ya, one of the times in 197[4], MONTROSE was playing Cobo [Arena in Detroit], and we were opening for AEROSMITH, and we didn't know who they were, and they sold out Cobo [Arena], and I'm going, 'Who the fuck are these guys?' So, we did our show, we did an encore, and we played [THE BEATLES'] 'Helter Skelter' for our encore. And AEROSMITH comes on and they opened with 'Helter Skelter'. Steven [Tyler, AEROSMITH singer] and I have been friends ever since.
"Long story short, we love those guys," Hagar added. "We all grew up with those guys. You grew up with them, we grew up with them, Mike and I. They've been our competitors to VAN HALEN for fucking 10 years. You know what I'm saying? 'Fuck those guys.' No, no, no, but we really do like them. It's just that we're mad at them.
"But anyway, what a shame. It's a sad thing, but honest to God, my hat goes off to one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time, Mister Steven Tyler, for saying, 'I can't sing anymore. I quit.'
"Fuck yes. Listen, that's honorable," Hagar said. "That's fucking honorable. The day I can't sing anymore, I will fucking do the same thing. And that's what a lot of other motherfuckers should have did a long time ago.
"So let's do one. Let's do one for them. Let's do one for AEROSMITH."
Hagar and his band, which consists of Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte, then performed a version of "Helter Skelter".
Sammy and Michael also talked about AEROSMITH's decision to retire during an interview with Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen & Shane McEachern conducted before the Clarkston concert. Michael said: "We just heard about that five minutes ago backstage. I mean, AEROSMITH was such a great band. Growing up, they were a big influence on me, inspiration, whatever. And you always hate to hear something like that happen, where something like that forces a band to either go into retirement or quit touring or whatever. It's pretty sad. Steven's a great frickin' singer, and we're all friends. Sammy and I know him, they're friends. It's sad to hear something like that happen."
Added Sammy: "But the truth of the matter is, God bless him for having the guts to hang it up before he goes out there and embarrasses himself and feels bad about it and fans start saying, 'Oh man, that sucked.' 'Cause this is a tough world with the Internet out there, man. You have one bad night and the whole world knows about it. You know what I mean? So Steven, God bless him for standing up like a man and saying, 'I can't deliver what I would like to deliver to you at these prices.' And that's the way I feel about myself. When I can't do it, I will be long gone, just like that. There's so many guys out there that I hear them and I just go, 'Whoa! What happened?' And I don't wanna be one of those guys. And God bless Steven for saying that. Peace, Steven. You're a good man. We're gonna miss ya, but we'll hang in Maui."
On Friday (August 2),AEROSMITH announced it was officially retiring from touring after Tyler's vocal injury.

Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari joined MEGADETH last September after the band's longtime axeman Kiko Loureiro, announced earlier that month that he would sit out the next leg of MEGADETH's "Crush The World" tour in order to stay home with his children back in Finland. It was later revealed that Mäntysaari would continue to play guitar for MEGADETH for the foreseeable future, with Loureiro seemingly having no plans to return.
The 37-year-old Mäntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and began playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band WINTERSUN. He has also been a member of SMACKBOUND since 2015.
MEGADETH played its first concert with Mäntysaari on September 6, 2023 at Revel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Loureiro officially joined MEGADETH in April 2015, about five months after Chris Broderick's exit from the group.
Since its inception in 1983, MEGADETH has ascended from its raw thrash metal roots to become an unstoppable force in the heavy metal world. With founder Dave Mustaine at the helm, MEGADETH's journey has been marked by a penchant for pushing the boundaries of speed, technicality, and complexity in their music. Their groundbreaking album "Rust In Peace", released in 1990, is frequently cited as a seminal work in the thrash metal genre. Along with the critically acclaimed "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?", it cemented MEGADETH's place in the annals of metal history.
Over four decades, the band's discography has earned numerous certifications, including platinum and multi-platinum awards, with albums like "Countdown To Extinction" and "Youthanasia" achieving widespread critical acclaim. 2016's "Dystopia" not only marked a high point with their first Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" after twelve nominations but also set the stage for their latest triumph, "The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!" in 2022. MEGADETH's status as part of the "Big Four" of thrash metal underscores their trailblazing role in the genre, laying the groundwork for countless bands and musicians who have followed in their wake.

PUDDLE OF MUDD's WES SCANTLIN Arrested Once Again
According to TMZ, PUDDLE OF MUDD frontman Wes Scantlin was arrested on Wednesday (July 31) for an outstanding warrant and a new charge of resisting arrest.
Scantlin was reportedly pulled over for a traffic violation in Burbank, California and was asked to get out of his car after police realized he had a warrant out for a previous alleged offense of possessing a weapon at an airport. The musician reportedly refused to leave his Hummer H2 even after a crisis negotiator was called in to negotiate, forcing the cops to use pepper spray to get Scantlin out. When even the pepper spray didn't work, the Burbank Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was called around 4:00 a.m. to break the car window to "shoot non-lethal pepper balls" to make him leave his truck and surrender.
TMZ reports that Scantlin was taken to hospital to get his eyes flushed from the pepper balls, but was otherwise unharmed. He has been booked for the weapons warrant and a new charge of resisting arrest, and is due to appear in court on August 20.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department lists Scantlin's booking time as 6:17 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31.
Wes had almost non-stop problems with the law, alcohol, finances and other issues, before claiming to have gotten sober in 2017. Scantlin said that he ended up going back to rehab and receiving treatment "because there's really nowhere else to go." He also credited his family and fans for giving him the strength to try to get better.
In February 2023, RadarOnline.com reported that Scantlin was arrested after he allegedly showed up at an old home he lost to foreclosure.
Prior to that, Scantlin was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in September 2017 after he attempted to board a plane with a BB gun. He pleaded no contest and was banned from LAX unless it involved traveling for work.
Less than two years earlier, in December 2015, Scantlin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and had several previous busts that same year for driving under the influence.
Additionally, he was arrested at a Denver airport in 2015 for taking a joyride on a baggage carousel and taken into custody as far back as 2012 for an altercation with a flight attendant.
He also ended a number of PUDDLE OF MUDD shows in 2016 early with various meltdowns, including one in which he accused a fan of stealing his house.
Scantlin's latest arrest comes nearly three years after he made headlines when he walked offstage midconcert at the EPIC Event Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin after complaining about the venue's lights.
PUDDLE OF MUDD was formed in 1991 in Kansas City by Scantlin, the only original member still with the band. The group into the mainstream with 2001's "Come Clean", which yielded three hits — "Control", "Blurry" and "She Hates Me".
PUDDLE OF MUDD's latest album, "Ubiquitous", was released last September via Pavement Entertainment.

QUEEN's BRIAN MAY Says AEROSMITH's Retirement Announcement 'Brought A Tear' To His Eye
QUEEN's Brian May has reacted on social media to the news that AEROSMITH is officially retiring from touring after Steven Tyler's vocal injury.
The legendary Massachusetts rockers made the announcement on Friday, August 2 — nearly one year after the now-76-year-old singer fractured his larynx during a September 2023 show.
Within a few hours of AEROSMITH's announcement, May took to his Instagram to share the band's statement, and he included the following message: "This has brought a tear to my eye. AEROSMITH have been a huge part of my life, as they have been for millions of other rock fans. Steve Tyler stands as one the greatest vocalists and front men of all time - and it's heartbreaking that his extraordinary voice has been so damaged. We all send our love and prayers for your recovery, Steve. It's also typical of the pure class of the band that they have made and broadcast this bold decision in such style."
He added: "The career of AEROSMITH is truly something to celebrate forever. All things must pass - but the inspiring work of AEROSMITH will live on - along with the memories of truly one of the most awesome bands to ever hit a stage."

Watch: MARILYN MANSON Plays First Concert In Nearly Five Years
Marilyn Manson returned to the stage Friday night (August 2) for his first live performance since before the pandemic at the kick-off concert of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's summer arena tour. The show at Hershey, Pennsylvania's Hersheypark Stadium marked Manson's proper gig since the completion of his fall 2019 headlining tour.
Joining Manson at the Hershey show was his current touring band, consisting of returning members Tyler Bates on guitar and Gil Sharone (ex-THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) on drums, alongside the latest additions, Reba Meyers (CODE ORANGE) on guitar and Matt Montgomery (a.k.a. Piggy D.; ex-ROB ZOMBIE) on bass.
Manson's 12-song set included his hits like "The Beautiful People" and "The Dope Show", but surprisingly did not feature his latest single, "As Sick As The Secrets Within", which was made available earlier on Friday.
The setlist was as follows:
01. We Know Where You Fucking Live
02. Disposable Teens
03. Angel With The Scabbed Wings
04. This Is The New Shit
05. Say10
06. Deep Six
07. Tourniquet
08. mOBSCENE
09. The Dope Show
10. Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
11. The Love Song
12. The Beautiful People
"As Sick As The Secrets Within", which was recorded and co-produced with collaborator Tyler Bates, marked the shock-rocker's first release via his new deal with Nuclear Blast Records.
The news of a partnership with Nuclear Blast came in May, just weeks after rumors suggested that Manson had already completed work on a new album.
Prior to the arrival of "As Sick As The Secrets Within", Marilyn hadn't released new music since his 2020 "We Are Chaos" LP.
Manson's 30-date arena/amphitheater tour as the support act for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is slated to wrap up on September 19 in Houston, Texas.
Over the past three years, Manson has been embroiled in a series of court battles and has been accused by several women — most notably "Westworld" star Evan Rachel Wood — of sexual, emotional and physical abuse.
Manson, who has denied all the allegations, has countersued a number of his alleged victims and judges have dismissed several of the abuse lawsuits against him.
The 55-year-old musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, has been off the road since the final August 18, 2019 date on the "Twins of Evil: Hell Never Dies" joint tour with Rob Zombie.
In 2022, Marilyn confirmed he was dropped by his record label, Loma Vista Recordings, and talent agency CAA after he was accused of sexual assault.
Manson has consistently denied sexually assaulting or abusing anyone, claiming that his "intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners".
Manson's first release through Concord imprint Loma Vista was "The Pale Emperor" in 2015.
"We Are Chaos" debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart. | +6

WOLFGANG VAN HALEN On DAVID LEE ROTH: 'I Thought We Were On Good Terms' Until Recently
During an appearance on the latest episode of the "WTF With Marc Maron" podcast, Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen's son, who joined VAN HALEN at just 15 years old, was asked if he gets along with VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Not really, at least as of recently. I thought we were on good terms, and he actually made a couple YouTube videos about me, about how much he doesn't like me, which was, like, 'Okay, cool man.'
Asked what Roth's justification was for making those videos, Wolfgang said: "He basically just said a bunch of stuff that was true to him, I guess. It doesn't matter if it's not true because the people that are going to listen to it will believe it and use it to hate me anyway. So you've just gotta move forward.
"I think the big thing, one of the bigger things is that my dad isn't around," Wolfgang explained. "So I think he just went for what's still there to kind of point at."
Wolfgang went on to say that Eddie and David "always" had difficulties in their relationship with each other. "I mean, throughout their history, I think, absolutely," he said, before adding: "I don't know what it is with '80s bands. There's always fucking something. I've kind of used it as my own… just, like, I don't want this to happen. So it's, like, for my band, it's, like, why can't we just have a good time and just be happy and make music? Like, is it that fucking difficult?"
Elaborating on why he thinks there is so much speculation about the inner workings of VAN HALEN, Wolfgang said: "I think the really tough thing with VAN HALEN is that my dad and my uncle never talked about it. They just pushed forward and kept doing what they were doing. I think that left room for interpretation or one side to be loud about it, to have the only truth be out there, and that's the only thing that people end up believing, when that's not necessarily the case."
In January, Roth posted an audio clip to YouTube in which he blasted Eddie Van Halen's son for allegedly engaging in unpleasant behavior and making poor decisions during VAN HALEN's final tour.
"This fuckin' kid," David said, "he's complaining the entire tour like I'm not paying enough attention to him on stage." Roth continued: "He's complaining to everybody around me — the business manager, the security guy, the clothing lady — 'Dave's not paying enough attention to me.'
Roth went on to recount an incident at the New York stop of the tour where Wolfgang allegedly "commandeered a couple of monkeys to go in back, behind my back, over to the side of the stage and throw out these two great dames that I invited to be my guests to the show.
"In fact, you aren't gonna believe this shit. This fuckin' kid, what he doesn't know is that these two dames work for the accounting firm that represent him, not me. But as usual, he, just like his uncle and his uncle's brother, stiffed them for tickets."
Roth later told a similar story that allegedly took place at Los Angeles's Hollywood Bowl at the last-ever show of VAN HALEN's final tour. According to David, just as he and the rest of VAN HALEN were about to launch into "Ice Cream Man", Wolfgang had another female guest of Roth do "the walk of shame" and got her ejected from the venue.
In March, Wolfgang was asked by "The Morning X With Barnes & Leslie" why he thinks Roth has called him out "in such a vile fashion". He responded: "I guess I'm honored he even thinks about me as much as he seems to. I guess you have to take what he says with a grain of salt considering he also said that he wrote [Eddie Van Halen's classic instrumental] 'Eruption' and came up with the Frankenstein [red-white-and-black-striped pattern Eddie Van Halen made famous on his guitar]… He said he wrote all the solos that Dad wrote."
Wolfgang continued: "I guess that's all I can say. I seem to have been born into this VAN HALEN drama that has come way before me. And I guess now that my dad isn't here to be a target, I guess he went to the next best thing."
During the same chat, Wolfgang shot down the possibility of a VAN HALEN tribute concert or tour involving him. "I don't wanna play that music without my dad," he said.
With Wolfgang on bass, VAN HALEN embarked on lengthy tours in 2007, 2012 and 2015. The band's final run of shows took place in the summer and fall of 2015. The North American trek included 41 concerts beginning on July 5, 2015 and ending on October 4, 2015.
Back in December 2021, Wolfgang, who joined his father Eddie Van Halen in VAN HALEN for the band's 2007 reunion tour with Roth, replacing Michael Anthony, was asked about David's retirement in an interview with Consequence. He said: "Dave is a… he's very much a one-of-a-kind [chuckles] sort of guy. We don't really talk, if ever. We were always cordial on tour together, but it's not like I've spoken to him at all in the last six years. But, I mean, he's fucking David Lee Roth. I'm so happy for him and for everything that he's accomplished. And he's just a phenomenal… He'll always be one of the best."
In November 2020, Wolfgang told Rolling Stone about his relationship with Roth: "We're cordial. But it was very business-related. You know, we were always cool, but we really only ever saw each other onstage."
Last year, Wolfgang implied in an interview that David Lee Roth was largely to blame for a proposed Eddie Van Halen tribute concert never materializing. He told Rolling Stone at the time: "What I can say is that there was an attempt at doing something. But, you know, I don't like to speak negatively about people, but there are some people that make it very difficult to do anything when it comes to VAN HALEN. After being in VAN HALEN for a long time, I really have strived to have an environment where there is no walking on eggshells and there is no personality that you have to deal with. It's just guys having fun making music and just having a good time. But, you know, from my time in VAN HALEN, there was always some stuff that gets in the way from just making music and having a good time. And, I think, that's what happened.
"I would love to just sit here and say everything and say the truth," he continued. "There are plenty of interviews my dad did, where he straight up just said everything. And people hated him for it and thought he was lying. So I could just say shit, but people have already decided how they feel about things, facts or not. So I can say the facts. But that may not align with how certain people feel. I know how VAN HALEN fans get. They are very motivated by which specific people they like in the band. And it's just not worth it. Just, we made an attempt, and some people can be hard to work with, and made it not happen."
Wolfgang went on to say that he "would really like to do something" for his father, but that the tribute concert idea "never even got off the ground."
"Look at anything that's happened with VAN HALEN," he said. "And look how things have fallen apart. You know? The fact that in my tenure, in VAN HALEN, we managed to do three tours, put an album of original material and a live album out is a fucking miracle.
"People love to pin every decision VAN HALEN has ever made on Dad," he continued. "But Al's the brain. Al has been the guy forever. He's the dude. When it comes to VAN HALEN, Dad just wanted to play guitar. But, you know, Al's mentality, and it's the mentality that VAN HALEN took for the entirety of its band, is that there's nothing worth talking about unless it's happening. So the reason that nothing has been talked about from VAN HALEN, the official channels, is because nothing's happened. And I know how that will stir people up and piss them off. But that's how the operation is run."
Asked what he would say if someone were to assume that the main problem was a certain singer with three initials — referring to David Lee Roth — Wolfgang replied: "I would say 'Do your research on the history of VAN HALEN, and come to your conclusions.'"
Eddie passed away in October 2020 at the age of 65. He had been battling throat cancer and died surrounded by friends and family at a Santa Monica, California hospital.
VAN HALEN had been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour nine years ago.
In early 2019, rumors were rampant that the classic-era lineup of VAN HALEN would reunite for the first time since 1984. It has since been revealed that a health setback involving Eddie was responsible for the tour not materializing. | +1

METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD: 'There's Not A Better Feeling Than Helping Someone Else And Doing It Without Telling About It'
During an appearance on a recent episode of "The Metallica Report", the podcast offering weekly insider updates on all things METALLICA, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield spoke about how came up with the logo for METALLICA's All Within My Hands foundation. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I think we had figured out the name first, from the song 'All Within My Hands'. And then kind of the obvious thing was, 'Let's put a hand on there.' And so, yeah, I just traced my hand, and that is my hand [laughs], whether you like it or not. And then somehow, having a key, having a keyhole in your hand, like something needs to inspire or open the help. So having that key going into the lock and unlocking that knowledge of it is better to give than to receive.
"As corny as that sounds, there's not really a better feeling in this world than helping someone else and doing it without telling about it," he continued. "There is something fantastic about that. It goes against everything that humans are — 'I need this. You give me that. I need to take this.' Especially growing up in a band that was struggling, fighting for the only towel in the motel, or whatever it is, or 'there's a can of food there. I better get mine or else.' Just that sparseness mentality and having that key unlock it to be completely the opposite. Out of everything you've learned, despite everything I've learned, the corniest saying 'it's better to give than receive' is so true.
"So that logo itself, yeah, 'Helping Hands'. We've used the 'M'' — I mean, I have it on my keychain here. The 'M', that is the key, METALLICA being able to unlock a lot of doors for other people that are struggling.
All Within My Hands is a non-profit, philanthropic organization conceived by the members and management of METALLICA and dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services. 100% of donations go directly to local organizations that the foundation supports.
"For me, blue-collar work we do, obviously the disaster relief is important, and that's kind of a no-brainer," Hetfield explained. "But the blue-collar work, the ability to sponsor people into restarting their life or giving them sense of hope, giving them a trade that they can take anywhere in the world and feel that they are worthy. And it could be a little selfish of me, because I like doing that stuff. And it's something that I don't do — oh, I do, but it's not something I need to sustain me and my family. So it is more of a hobby, but it is a career for most people. You don't take the time every day to realize that, 'Wow, someone built that. Someone built this couch we're sitting on.' I mean, I couldn't do it. Someone else has taken the time to learn and how to do it. And it makes our lives better. So, why are they not respected as much as a doctor or a lawyer? Yes, they're saving lives, and it's kind of the same thing."
To date, All Within My Hands' collective efforts have raised over $15 million — providing $8.2 million in grants to career and technical education programs, over $3.6 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.5 million to disaster relief efforts.
Earlier this month, METALLICA and All Within My Hands confirmed that the fourth "Helping Hands Concert & Auction" will take place December 13 at YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
Hosted once again by Jimmy Kimmel, this year's event will mark the return of All Within My Hands' "Helping Hands Concert & Auction" to Los Angeles — where the previous "Helping Hands" show in December 2022 raised approximately $3,000,000 — 100% of which went directly to All Within My Hands' efforts supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, disaster relief and other critical local services — and featured appearances by Robert Downey Jr., Tony Hawk, St. Vincent, leaders from six of AWMH's non-profit partner organizations and a set by GRETA VAN FLEET, all culminating in a very special acoustic/electric performance from METALLICA.
All Within My Hands' fourth "Helping Hands Concert & Auction" promises to be another unforgettable night of music and philanthropy. This year's lineup will be announced shortly, along with amazing items and experiences to be auctioned off, all to benefit the Foundation, with 100% of ticket and auction proceeds going directly to those in need.
All Within My Hands was established by METALLICA to invest in the people and places that have supported the band. It also allows METALLICA's fans to engage in philanthropy and volunteerism. The Foundation is dedicated to creating sustainable communities through workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services. All expenses of the Foundation are covered by the band, the board, and a few special friends so that 100 percent of donations go to the organizations it supports. AWMH is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Last year, All Within My Hands donated a portion of all ticket sales from METALLICA's "M72" world tour back into the communities visited during each tour stop. In partnership with local promoters, the Foundation worked diligently to find organizations that aligned with the AWMH mission and actively put funds to use to better the lives of people in need.
The METALLICA family and the All Within My Hands foundation board members are committed to running an organization of the highest integrity where expenses are kept to a minimum and are paid for entirely by the band, the board, and friends who have worked with the band over many years and are excited to help in this mission. As such, 100% of all donations from fans and third parties go to the organizations AWMH supports.
In January 2022, METALLICA announced the appointment of Peter Delgrosso as executive director to All Within My Hands. Pete had served on AWMH advisory board since 2018 and is focused on the future of the foundation.
METALLICA's 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" compilation generated more than $1 million in donations. All the profits from the "Blacklist" project were divided evenly between All Within My Hands and charities chosen by the participating artists.

British Metal Veterans BLITZKRIEG Release 'If I Told You' Single From Upcoming Self-Titled Album
NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) veterans BLITZKRIEG will release their new, self-titled album on September 6 via Mighty Music. The official music video for the LP's second single, "If I Told You", can be seen below.
"Blitzkrieg" track listing:
01. You Won't Take Me Alive
02. The Spider
03. Dragon's Eye
04. If I Told You
05. Vertigo
06. Above The Law
07. I Am His Voice
08. The Night He Came Home
09. On Olympus High - Aphrodite's Kiss
Unrepentantly flying the flag for classic British metal since the release of their 1981 "Blitzkrieg/Buried Alive" demo, BLITZKRIEG were a pivotal influence on countless heavy metal bands for decades to come: most notably METALLICA, who released a cover of the band's eponymous track "Blitzkrieg" both on the "Garage Inc" compilation album, and as a B-side on their 1984 single "Creeping Death".
Formed in Leicester in late 1980 by lead vocalist Brian Ross (who remains at the helm of the band to this day),the band would take a four-year hiatus when Ross left to join NWOBHM legends SATAN, recording their classic album "Court In The Act" (Roadrunner) and touring extensively, before reuniting with bassist Mick Moore to form AVENGER.
1985 saw the release of BLITZKRIEG's long-awaited debut album "A Time Of Changes" on legendary British label Neat Records, which remains a cult classic to this day. Further success would follow with 1991's "Ten Years Of Blitzkrieg" (Roadrunner) and a three-album deal in 1995 with Neat Records.
The band continued to champion classic metal throughout the turbulent 2000s, with albums like 2002's "Absolute Power" (Hellion) and 2007's "Theatre Of The Damned" (Armageddon),the latter of which was co-produced by SAXON frontman Biff Byford after BLITZKRIEG opened for SAXON on their U.K. tour the year prior. All the while, the band remained a mainstay on the international festival circuit, with appearances at Wacken Open Air, Headbangers Open Air, Keep It True, Hard Rock Hell and countless others, along with regular tours in four continents.
Returning from a hiatus in the wake of their critically acclaimed releases "Back From Hell" and "Judge Not", BLITZKRIEG are as vital, powerful and ferocious as the day they were founded over 40 years ago. Longtime members Alan Ross (son of Brian Ross) and powerhouse drummer Matt Graham are joined by bassist Liam Ferguson and virtuoso guitarist and producer Nick Jennison. Their new album "Blitzkrieg" is set for release in summer 2024 via Mighty Music, and if early previews are to be believed, is their best work since 1985.
"Blitzkrieg" will be released on CD, LP (black, green and red vinyl versions available, each limited to 200 copies) and digital. Pre-orders are available now.
METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich commented that BLITZKRIEG was one of his band's main musical inspirations, along with DIAMOND HEAD.
Brian, the only remaining founding member of BLITZKRIEG, said: "Lars Ulrich phoned me up and asked if they could cover the song.
"METALLICA were, and still are, big fans of the band. We have met up with them a few times over the years and I am really pleased that they still play 'Blitzkrieg' at gigs."
Brian said that he tried to give the then-unknown METALLICA a helping hand in the early 1980s.
"They sent me their demo when they were still unsigned, asking for my help to get them on our label," he said. "But the label turned them down, saying they'd never go anywhere.
"I met up with the guy who made that call a few years ago and he says it is the biggest mistake of his life."
BLITZKRIEG 2024 is:
Brian Ross: lead vocals
Nick Jennison: guitar, vocals
Alan Ross: guitar, vocals
Liam Ferguson: bass
Matthew Graham: drums

Watch: ANTHRAX's JOEY BELLADONNA Performs With DIO DISCIPLES For First Time
ANTHRAX vocalist Joey Belladonna made his live debut with DIO DISCIPLES on Thursday (August 1) at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany. Fan-filmed video of the concert can be seen below.
DIO DISCIPLES consist of members of Ronnie James Dio's band, supplemented with top-shelf musicians who have more than earned their stripes. In addition to keyboardist Scott Warren (DIO, HEAVEN & HELL, WARRANT) and drummer Simon Wright (DIO, AC/DC, UFO),the band's current lineup is completed by vocalist Oni Logan (LYNCH MOB),bassist Bjorn Englen (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, QUIET RIOT),guitarist Ira Black (BULLETBOYS, LIZZY BORDEN, VICIOUS RUMORS, VIO-LENCE) and the latest addition, the aforementioned Belladonna.
Billed as a "celebration of the music and legacy of the greatest singer in the world, Ronnie James Dio," DIO DISCIPLES have been playing Ronnie's music on tour in a bid to keep their old bandmate's memory alive.
Four years ago, Wright told The Metal Voice that the proposed DIO DISCIPLES debut album had been put "on hold" so that he and his bandmates could focus on the "Dio Returns" tour. At the time, Simon said that "about four or five demos" had been laid down of "different songs" that he and former DIO guitarist Craig Goldy had been working on. As for the material's musical direction, Wright said: "It's difficult to pin it down, because some of [the tracks] are a little different. Still a little bit of [the] DIO [sound], the way Ronnie would write, obviously, 'cause that's rubbed off on Craig, and I hear things too. But at the moment, it's a little bit eclectic. So that was gonna be one thing we were gonna approach. We need to consolidate it and make it into a DIO DISCIPLES sound. So that was a conversation we were having: 'We need to figure out where we're going with this.' At the moment, it's a bit all over the place. But they sound good. They're great ideas."
Several years ago, Goldy revealed DIO DISCIPLES were planning to start work on a project of original material, and they debuted three of the new songs during their May 2016 appearance at the "Ride For Ronnie" motorcycle rally and concert in Encino.
Craig previously told "Talking Metal" that he has been collaborating with fellow former DIO member Jeff Pilson on the material for the debut DIO DISCIPLES album.
Goldy joined DIO during the "Sacred Heart" tour in 1986 after original guitarist Vivian Campbell was fired from the band following a contentious business disagreement with the singer and Ronnie's management.
Pilson is best known for playing bass with DOKKEN and FOREIGNER, but he also toured with DIO in the 1990s and performed on three of the group's albums — "Strange Highways" (1993),"Angry Machines" (1996) and the group's tenth and final studio release, "Master Of The Moon" (2004).
Owens told Canada's The Metal Voice about DIO DISCIPLES' forthcoming LP: "We're not making a DIO record. We couldn't do that. The best thing is, we've all done different types of records, but there's always some similarity to the classic metal and classic rock format, because we have this in us. But we still always move forward a little bit. But that's what it's gonna be. JUDAS PRIEST, DIO, AC/DC — all these influences are in us, and they're not gonna leave us. It's just us writing songs. It's not us writing songs to sound like something; it's us going in and writing songs."
In 2018, Wendy said that DIO DISCIPLES' debut album would be released via BMG.
Belladonna recently launched a tribute band to Ronnie James Dio. The new group will play four shows in Florida in August, performing music from DIO, BLACK SABBATH and RAINBOW.
A decade ago, Belladonna spoke to Jay Nanda of the San Antonio Metal Music Examiner about the ANTHRAX frontman's involvement in "This Is Your Life", the tribute to album to Ronnie James Dio. Asked why ANTHRAX chose to record a cover version of the BLACK SABBATH classic "Neon Knights", Belladonna said: "I think I suggested it. When we talked about doing something, collectively, we all like the song, so it was a no-brainer. We could pretty much pick anything… I went for the heavier."
Asked if recording the "Neon Knights" cover was a more emotional experience than some of the other cover versions ANTHRAX had recorded over the years, Belladonna said: "For me, no. I just love doing that type of thing, and it was another day for me to sing something of his. Obviously, I'm excited, because it is a record, but I don't think I did it any different. In fact, I only did a couple of takes. I mean, I actually have on video the first time I tried it, and it pretty much sounds like what it sounds like already. It was business as usual for me."
Regarding what Ronnie meant to him, Joey said: "Ronnie's an inspirational singer for me." He added: "I really believe that as you grow up, you're inspired by the people that perform and things that you would like to hear yourself be in that kind of category and have such a talent like he did and just be inspired. [He was a] great human being, great musician — just all that… He was just the slickest. He was so heavy but melodic, as well as his attitude about everything. He had great charisma."
Belladonna also spoke about the first impression Ronnie made on him. "He made me laugh big time," Joey said. "He just want[ed] to be funny. And yet he [was] so sincere and [could] have that serious point of view. You need to be enthralled with that when you're around him, to have him speak to you with that kind of attitude and spunk that he had. And I'd been around him when things weren't so good, which I won't bring up right now, but to have him share that with me, which was more private, about being in his band — things like that. Just to engage in that with me and run that by me."
Belladonna, whose most recent return to ANTHRAX was officially announced in May 2010, was originally the lead singer of ANTHRAX from 1984 to 1992, and was considered part of the influential thrash metal group's classic lineup (alongside guitarists Dan Spitz and Scott Ian, bassist Frank Bello and drummer Charlie Benante),which reunited and toured during 2005 and 2006. His voice was featured on over 10 albums, which reportedly sold eight million copies worldwide.

AEROSMITH Announces Retirement From Touring, Citing STEVEN TYLER's Vocal Cord Injury
Legendary rockers AEROSMITH have announced their retirement from touring.
The band kicked off its "Peace Out" farewell tour last September, but postponed most of the dates after 76-year-old singer Steven Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury during a show.
Earlier today (Friday, August 2),AEROSMITH released the following statement via social media: "It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became AEROSMITH. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock 'n' roll history. It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.
"We've always wanted to blow your mind when performing. As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage.
"We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you — the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true."
Tickets for remaining dates of the "Peace Out" tour will be refunded through Ticketmaster. If fans purchased tickets through a third-party reseller like StubHub or SeatGeek, refunds will be available through that point of purchase.
The "Peace Out" tour came to a halt after what turned out to be a final gig in Elmont, New York on September 9, 2023. That show came just three dates into the tour, which was supposed to last through February 2024.
The rescheduled "Peace Out" tour was due to begin September 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with special guests THE BLACK CROWES.
Since AEROSMITH's founding 54 years ago, the group has gone on to sell more than 150 million albums around the world; produced genre-defining music videos such as "Amazing", "Crazy", "Janie's Got A Gun", "Livin' On The Edge" and "Love In An Elevator"; launched extravagant record-shattering global tours, most recently with their smash hit Las Vegas residency. The band has broken numerous boundaries, including becoming the first rock band with a massive commercially successful hip-hop collaboration with RUN DMC on "Walk This Way" and the first hard rock band to appear during a Super Bowl Halftime Show with their 2001 performance, and in 1999, AEROSMITH became the first band to have their own themed attraction at Disney World in Florida, and later Paris with the launch of the Rock 'N' Roller coaster starring AEROSMITH.
With broad cultural influence, AEROSMITH has prominently appeared in films, television shows and video games, as well as influencing multiple generations of rock bands, both as style icons and acclaimed multi-instrumentalists. MusiCares honored the band in 2020 as Person Of The Year for their many artistic achievements and dedication to philanthropy, including Steven Tyler's initiative Janie's Fund initiative, which supports young women who've suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect.
Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2001, AEROSMITH is tied for the most RIAA album certifications by an American group with 25 gold, 18 platinum, 12 multi-platinum and one diamond. As the band was founded in Boston in 1970, April 13, 1993 was declared "Aerosmith Day" in Massachusetts by then-governor William Weld.

SHINEDOWN Sets Chart Record Across Multiple Formats
SHINEDOWN, the multi-platinum rock band known for its powerful performances and chart-topping hits, has achieved another remarkable milestone. The band's single "A Symptom Of Being Human" is now the first song by a band or solo artist to chart in the top 10 on three major Mediabase charts: Active Rock, Alternative, and Adult Contemporary (AC). This unprecedented chart achievement underscores SHINEDOWN's versatility and broad appeal across multiple music genres.
In addition to holding Mediabase chart history with the most No. 1s, Top 5s and Top 10s in the Active Rock category, SHINEDOWN has achieved a record-breaking 23 chart-topping songs.
"Radio has been the heartbeat of our band, and we owe an immense debt of gratitude to the stations that have championed us," said Brent Smith, lead vocalist of SHINEDOWN. Smith went on to add, "This milestone is a testament to the unwavering support from our fans and their beloved radio stations, which have been pivotal in our journey and growth since day one."
Philippe Generali, president and CEO of Mediabase, said: "Mediabase would like to congratulate SHINEDOWN, Atlantic-Elektra and the In De Goot Management team on this accomplishment for 'A Symptom Of Being Human'. To be able to go top 10 at these three formats, as well as having successful runs at Top 40 and Hot AC is very rare for a rock song."
It's rare for a rock band to break into pop music, but SHINEDOWN has always believed that music is universal and doesn't have to be put in a genre box. "A Symptom Of Being Human" is resonating with listeners worldwide because of its uplifting and important message about how we are all a work in progress. Collectively, "A Symptom Of Being Human" has amassed tens of millions of streams across all versions including a live version, pop remix, acoustic version and piano version.
"A Symptom Of Being Human" is the fourth No. 1 Active Rock single from SHINEDOWN's acclaimed seventh studio album, "Planet Zero". The set debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart in July 2022.

THE DEAD DAISIES Release 'I'm Gonna Ride' Single From Upcoming 'Light 'Em Up' Album
THE DEAD DAISIES have released "I'm Gonna Ride", the second single from their upcoming album, "Light 'Em Up". The full-length disc will follow on September 6 via Germany's SPV and Japan's Ward Records.
"I'm Gonna Ride" was helmed by producer and songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow, among many others.
THE DEAD DAISIES frontman John Corabi states: "'I'm Gonna Ride' is a song about leaving your worries and everyday stresses behind, getting on your Harley and cranking it up. It's an anthem of the open roads and our next single from the 'Light 'Em Up' album. See you on our U.K. tour in September!! Love you, guys."
THE DEAD DAISIES recently lit up the US on the first leg of the "Light 'Em Up" tour to rave reviews from both fans and media alike.
Produced by Frederiksen in Nashville, the "Light 'Em Up" album consists of in-your-face rock tiunes packed with huge hooks, Doug Aldrich's giant intense guitar riffs and John's distinctive vocals that will leave no audience in their seats when played live.
THE DEAD DAISIES' most ambitious and biggest U.K. tour to date will launch on Friday, September 6, with special guests THE TREATMENT and THE BITES. The band will then embark on a run of mainland Europe, kicking off on Friday, November 1 with the final show of the year in Frankfurt, Germany. Special guests for these shows are BEASTO BLANCO and Mike Tramp (performing the songs of WHITE LION).
In March, THE DEAD DAISIES announced the return of drummer Tommy Clufetos (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK SABBATH).
Twelve years ago, THE DEAD DAISIES burst on to the music scene with a mission to gather some of the finest musicians in the world and simply put, play some good old-fashioned, no-bullshit rock and roll. After more than a decade of recording and touring the planet, there have been some incredible one-offs and special highlights including sharing stages with some of the world's biggest rock bands. To mark this milestone, a collection of songs from six of the band's previous studio albums have been chosen. The "Best Of" album, which was made available in August 2023, includes some of the collective's favorite tracks and others that have become a staple part of every DAISIES touring setlist. Two previously unreleased tracks from the last recording session are also included.
A year ago, it was announced that Corabi, former lead singer of MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE SCREAM and UNION, had officially rejoined THE DEAD DAISIES.
Corabi joined THE DEAD DAISIES in early 2015 and remained in the group until January 2019, during which time he recorded three studio albums with the band: "Revolución" (2015),"Make Some Noise" (2016) and "Burn It Down" (2018). In the summer of 2019, THE DEAD DAISES announced that they were being joined by legendary DEEP PURPLE bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes, who appeared on the band's last two studio albums, 2021's "Holy Ground" and 2022's "Radiance".
In August 2023, Corabi told Metal Talk about how he came to rejoin THE DEAD DAISIES: "We talked through the whole time that they had Glenn in the band. At one point, they were getting ready to tour with Glenn, and he was sick. I don't know if he had COVID or what his deal was, but he wasn't feeling well. I went up to New York for a week with the guys, and I helped them. I sang with them to help them prepare for their tour with Glenn, just to get their music together."
John went on to say that it was April or May of 2023 that Lowy visited him in Nashville. "He basically told me that Glenn was going back to do his DEEP PURPLE thing and BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION," John said. "He asked me if I was rested and said, 'We'd love to have you come back and keep this train moving.' So I said, 'All right. All good.'" | 0

RILEY'S L.A. GUNS Releases Acoustic Version Of 'The Ballad Of Jayne'
RILEY'S L.A. GUNS has released an acoustic version of the L.A. GUNS song "The Ballad Of Jayne" via Golden Robot Records. This reimagined version offers fans a fresh, stripped-down take on one of L.A. GUNS' most beloved songs, showcasing RILEY'S L.A. GUNS' musical versatility and emotional depth.
In celebration of this release, RILEY'S L.A. GUNS is also launching an exclusive seven-inch vinyl edition of the acoustic single. Available on August 16, this special vinyl release can only be purchased as part of a bundle, making it a must-have collector's item for dedicated fans and vinyl enthusiasts alike.
To add to the excitement, anyone who pre-saves the acoustic single will receive an exclusive link to listen to the new track 48 hours before its official release. This early access is a special "thank you" to the band's loyal supporters and offers a unique opportunity to experience the song ahead of the general public.
RILEY'S L.A. GUNS played its first concert without founding drummer Steve Riley on January 20 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. RILEY'S L.A. GUNS' performance was booked prior to Steve's tragic death last October.
Seven months ago, RILEY'S L.A. GUNS released its sophomore album, "The Dark Horse", via Golden Robot Records. The effort arrived more than two months after the death of Riley who would have celebrated his 68th birthday on January 22, the day of "The Dark Horse"'s release.
In addition to Riley, RILEY'S L.A. GUNS' most recent lineup featured Orlando, Florida-based guitarist/vocalist Kurt Frohlich, bassist Kelly Nickels (a member of L.A. GUNS' "classic" incarnation) and guitarist Scott Griffin, who played bass for L.A. GUNS from 2007 until 2009, and then again from 2011 to 2014.
In September 2023, RILEY'S L.A. GUNS released "The Dark Horse" title track via Golden Robot Records. The track came seven months after RILEY'S L.A. GUNS issued another new song, "Rewind", digitally via Golden Robot. In October 2022, RILEY'S L.A. GUNS released a single called "Overdrive".
Riley died on October 24, 2023 at the age of 67. Prior to his passing, Steve had been battling a severe case of pneumonia for several weeks. His wife Mary Louise and son Cole were by his side in his final moments.
Riley was the drummer for W.A.S.P. on the band's second and third albums — 1985's "The Last Command" and 1986's "Inside The Electric Circus" — and world tours from 1984 to 1987. After leaving W.A.S.P., Riley joined L.A. GUNS and played on that group's most commercially successful LPs.
In 2016, singer Phil Lewis and guitarist Tracii Guns reunited in a new version of L.A. GUNS that didn't include Riley. Steve later launched his own version of L.A. GUNS, which played its debut concert at the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland in May 2019.
In April 2021, an out-of-court resolution was reached between Riley and Guns and Lewis over the rights to the band's name. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Tracii and Phil continued to operate under the L.A. GUNS trademark, while Riley and his bandmates from the other version of L.A. GUNS carried on under the new name RILEY'S L.A. GUNS.
In January 2020, Riley was sued by Lewis and Guns in California District Court. Joining Riley as defendants in the case were the three musicians who performed in his rival version of L.A. GUNS; that group's manager, booking agent and merchandiser; and Golden Robot Records. The complaint, which requested a trial by jury, alleged that Riley's version of L.A. GUNS (referred to in the case docket as "the infringing L.A. GUNS") was creating "unfair competition" through its unauthorized usage of the L.A. GUNS trademark. In addition, Guns and Lewis were seeking relief from and/or against false advertising, breach of contract and unauthorized usage of their likenesses. | 0

THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT Announces 'Greetings From Suffocate City' Album, Releases 'Blood Mother' Single
Emo rock outfit THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT will release its second full-length album, "Greetings From Suffocate City", on September 13 via Better Noise Music. The LP's story arc is told across its 14 tracks which blends religious and violent imagery. It's a thrilling and evocative mix of the holy and unholy, the sacred and sacrilege. Guest appearances include Bert McCracken of THE USED, Spencer Charnas of ICE NINE KILLS, Danny Worsnop of ASKING ALEXANDRIA, and EVA UNDER FIRE.
"This album is a statement," says THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT vocalist Lee Jennings. "Its title reflects our conviction, respect, and, most importantly, devotion to its message.
"This record talks of love and loss. That the people we love, the passions we dedicate ourselves to, the culture we are surrounded by, and the society we partake in, will all inevitably hurt us. Yet through the pain and struggle of it all," he adds, "we still choose to love, unabashedly, even when it kills us. It is a warning of the challenges life will present us all with and a universal truth that suffering is inherent in all joy."
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT has just released a new industrial-tinged track, "Blood Mother", from "Greetings From Suffocate City". Jennings says, "This southern-fried riff machine brings a low, pulsing energy to the record. It harks on modern medication and the fear of risking losing your personality and sense of self once prescribed." The music video for "Blood Mother" can be seen below.
"Blood Mother"'s release coincides with the start of THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT's U.S. tour supporting FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, MARILYN MANSON and SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Ohio metalcore favorites MISS MAY I have released a new version of the song "Architect", featuring CURRENTS. The track is taken from MISS MAY I's upcoming 15th-anniversary edition of its classic, beloved album "Apologies Are For The Weak", due on August 23 via Solid State Records.
The anniversary edition has been entirely re-recorded and features cameos on every single song, ranging from Jake Luhrs of AUGUST BURNS RED, Brandan Schieppati of BLEEDING THROUGH, Scott Lewis of CARNIFEX, and many others.
MISS MAY I states about "Architect": "This was one of the first songs we ever wrote as a band and it's very special to us. It predates this album and can be found on our first demos.
"Having [singer] Brian [Wille] on this record is very special because we feel like CURRENTS are our little brothers having taken them out on some of their first tours around the world and watching them grow into the juggernauts they are today. Brian specifically requested to do this track as it was one of his favorites when it was originally released. We are so happy to have him put his spin on it and join us for this celebration."
The band also created a throwback website in conjunction with the release. Send your friend request here.

Marilyn Manson has released the official Bill Yukich-directed music video for his new single, "As Sick As The Secrets Within". The track, which was recorded and co-produced with collaborator Tyler Bates, marks the shock-rocker's first release via his new deal with Nuclear Blast Records.
"'As Sick As The Secrets Within' is a personal look into my life and I'm proud to be able to share my art and vision with you," Manson wrote of the song in an Instagram post.
The news of a partnership with Nuclear Blast came in May, just weeks after rumors suggested that Manson had already completed work on a new album.
Prior to the arrival of "As Sick As The Secrets Within", Marilyn hadn't released new music since his 2020 "We Are Chaos" LP.
Manson's 30-date arena/amphitheater tour with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is slated to kick off on August 2 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Watch: PAPA ROACH And DAUGHTRY Compete On 'Celebrity Family Feud'
PAPA ROACH and DAUGHTRY competed against each other on last night's (Tuesday, July 30) episode of ABC's "Celebrity Family Feud" series.
The hit game show, which pits two celebrity-laden teams against one another and asks them to answer open-ended questions for points, featured all ten members of the two bands.
The episode, recorded in April, aired on ABC before becoming available to stream on Hulu.
The two bands competed against one another to raise money for charity.
Team PAPA ROACH ultimately won the game and $25,000 for their choice of charity, the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention.
Also featured in the same episode were R&B icons EARTH, WIND & FIRE taking on THE WAR AND TREATY.
Hosted by Steve Harvey, the celebrity iteration of the popular game show "features celebrities, along with their immediate family members or their extended TV families, going head-to-head in a contest to name the most popular responses to survey-type questions posed to 100 people for a chance to win money for a charity of their choice," according to the series description.
"Celebrity Family Feud" is produced by Fremantle and is taped in front of a live audience in Los Angeles, California. Jennifer Mullin is an executive producer, along with Gaby Johnston, who also serves as showrunner.
DAUGHTRY frontman Chris Daughtry's stepdaughter Hannah Price died by suicide at age 25 in November 2021.
Price was under the influence of narcotics and had a history of mental health struggles.

Exclusive: PRIME EVIL Premieres “Evilution Decree X” Video
Prime Evil, the legendary purveyors of old-school extreme metal hailing from the dark alleys of New York, unleashed their latest offering, Evilution X, on April 26, 2024. This EP marks a triumphant return for the band, celebrating milestone anniversaries of their illustrious career with five blistering new recordings. BraveWords is premiering music video for track “Evilution Decree X” – watch below!
Formed in the late spring of 1984, Prime Evil has long been a staple of the New York underground metal scene, sharing stages with iconic acts such as Death, Morbid Angel, and Obituary. Their uncompromising approach to music, coupled with their raw intensity, has earned them a devoted following over the decades.
Evilution X pays homage to the band's rich history, featuring re-recordings of tracks from their seminal Evilution EP, alongside two new songs crafted specifically for this release. Vocalist Andy Eichhorn, guitarist Mike Usifer, and drummer Antonio Padilla (Teloch Vovin) have breathed new life into these classics, infusing them with a renewed sense of power and vigor.
Recording for Evilution X began in 2021, with plans for a 2022 release to coincide with the anniversaries of Prime Evil's pivotal moments. However, the project was temporarily derailed when guitarist Mike Usifer was diagnosed with cancer. After a period of treatment and recovery, Usifer rallied back, leading the band to complete the recordings in the summer of 2023.
Evilution X is a testament to Prime Evil's resilience and dedication to their craft. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Mike Usifer himself, the EP showcases the band's unwavering commitment to delivering uncompromising metal of the highest caliber.
Prime Evil is already hard at work on new material for their next full-length album, promising even more sonic onslaughts in the near future.

INSURRECTION Shares "Bless The Machine" Guitar Playthrough Video
Insurrection, the death metal powerhouse from Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, proudly presents their new single “Bless The Machine”. Accompanying the release, the band has also unveiled an exclusive playthrough video, giving fans an inside look at the technical prowess behind their music. This track is part of their forthcoming album Obsolescence, which is set to drop on September 13, 2024, via the label Bam & Co. Heavy. The band comments on the track:
“This is the final part of The New Uprising trilogy. Musically, this song sounds like At The Gates playing Castlevania songs. Which you, the reader, will either completely understand, or be completely confused by. We’re fine with that. It’s fast, it’s melodic, and it’s just complicated enough so that every time you listen to it, you may find a tiny new thing.”
The band goes on to explain that the lyrics provide the conclusion to The New Uprising trilogy, with this song in specific being a “prayer to the machine” to eliminate the “filthy human breed.” The song was inspired by reflections on the death penalty, although the trilogy itself is about a Robotic Uprising, which is a metaphor for the rise of political extremism in the world.
Obsolescence artwork and tracklisting:
"Preprogrammed"
"The Gathering"
"Failures Of The Flesh"
"Le Secret Des Dieux"
"Némésis"
"Hostile Takeover"
"Obsession"
"Charogne"
"Initiate The End"
"Obsolete"
"Bless The Machine"
Catch Insurrection live at the following shows:
October
11 - Sainte-Thérèse, QC - Le Montecristo
12 - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC - La Boite (Festival Communion)
Since their formation in 2003, Insurrection has captivated audiences with their high-energy performances and their unique blend of groovy death metal and thrash. They are recommended for those who enjoy Testament, Nevermore, and Bloodbath.
