"Bad Habit", a brand new song from Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Family Tree", which will be released on April 20 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group.

"Family Tree" is the much-anticipated follow up to 2016's "Kentucky". As was the case on "Kentucky", the BLACK STONE CHERRY members opted to produce and track the new disc at David Barrick's Barrick Recording in Glasgow, Kentucky, the same studio where the four-piece recorded its eponymous debut. BLACK STONE CHERRY also chose to not over-rehearse upfront of the album sessions, instead preferring the immediacy and spontaneity of in-the-moment takes. The band also entrusted frontman Chris Robertson to mix the songs, which perfectly fit the loose, creative process that birthed "Family Tree".

"Family Tree" boasts BLACK STONE CHERRY's tried-and-true lucky number with its 13 songs, and like all BLACK STONE CHERRY releases, features songwriting contributions from each member.

Drummer John Fred Young says: "'Family Tree' showcases all of our collective musical influences and how we have taken those to create something that is truly our own unique Southern American rock 'n' roll sound."

Two special guests appear, one bringing the concept of family full circle. Chris's five-year-old son contributes backup vocals on the swaggering "You Got The Blues", while the other, revered jam-band musician Warren Haynes (GOV'T MULE) offers a guitar cameo and vocals on the delta stomp of "Dancing In The Rain". The band first met Warren 17 years ago as freshly signed youngsters on their first visit to New York City.

The concept of family looms large in the world of BLACK STONE CHERRY's four band members. Young's father Richard and his uncle Fred are founding members of the Grammy Award-winning country rock 'n' roots band THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS.

BLACK STONE CHERRY's four high school-aged friends — Young, plus frontman/guitarist Chris Robertson, guitarist Ben Wells and bassist Jon Lawhon — grew up honing their craft in the HEADHUNTERS' Practice House, an abandoned property on the Young family's farmland. John Fred says: "We grew up in THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS' rehearsal space, looking up at posters of CREAM, LED ZEPPELIN, URIAH HEEP, THE [ROLLING] STONES MONTROSE, and THE FACES. We were like kids someone took in a time capsule and put in the woods."

Dutch death thrash ragers IZEGRIM will release a brand new EP titled "Beheaded By Trust" on March 23. The four tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered in December 2017 at Kohlekeller Studio (ABORTED, BENIGHTED). The cover artwork was created by Kirill Semenov.

Without the need for what IZEGRIM calls a "silly crowdfunding campaign" or "pricy meet-and-greet sessions," this release will see the light of day as an old-school DIY product. Straight from the band to the fans. This does not mean the collaboration with Listenable Records ended — on the contrary, this EP is a sneak peek of what's to come.

Swedish melodic metallers AMARANTHE have entered Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, EPICA, DELAIN) to begin recording their fifth album, due later in the year. The follow-up to 2016's "Maximalism" will mark the band's first release with DYNAZTY's Nils Molin, who officially joined AMARANTHE in July 2017 as the replacement for Jake E.

Having previously used Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye from the band SMASH INTO PIECES as a stand-in for Jake on some of the shows in 2016 and in early 2017, AMARANTHE recruited Molin for three Swedish concerts in March 2017 and he has been part of the group's live appearances ever since.

Jake E announced his departure from AMARANTHE in February 2017, explaining at the time that he began to feel that "my place both on the albums and live was reduced; I felt like I was superfluous… I started to feel more like a backing singer." He has since launched a new band called CYHRA with former IN FLAMES members Peter Iwers (bass) and Jesper Strömblad (guitar) alongside LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY drummer Alex Landenburg.

In a 2016 interview with CrypticRock.com, AMARANTHE singer Elize Ryd said that the recording process for "Maximalism" was "a little different from the previous ones because we actually had time to sit down and think a lot about how we could make some changes in the sound without changing too much, of course. We were playing around a lot with new keyboards and worked on a list of things that we like that we had not used yet on the previous albums. This was an opportunity for us to get a little bit more diverse. I think that is exactly what this album represents. We wanted to maximize our sound and ourselves as human beings. It is also a little bit more organic."

MUSHROOMHEAD co-vocalist Jeffrey Nothing, also known as Jeff Hatrix (born Jeffrey Lewis Hetrick), has announced his departure from the Cleveland, Ohio metal band he co-founded in 1993 with Steve "Skinny" Felton.

"I am coming to you today with a heavy heart to announce that I am leaving MUSHROOMHEAD," Hatrix said in a statement. "It is a decision that I did not make easily, but one I made for reasons that are best for me as an artist and musician at this juncture in my career." He went on to describe the body of music and music videos MUSHROOMHEAD has created over eight albums and 24 years of performing and touring for "the craziest, fucking loyal and amazing fans" as "a once-in-a-lifetime privilege."

Hatrix is not making any further comment at this time. He is asking MUSHROOMHEAD's decades of devoted fans to remain loyal to the band they love during this transitional period.

MUSHROOMHEAD's eighth studio album, "The Righteous & The Butterfly", was released in May 2014 via Megaforce Records. The CD was recorded in Cleveland with longtime co-producer Bill Korecky.

Guitarist Michael Grant has left L.A. GUNS "to pursue other interests including his solo project, MICHAEL GRANT & THE ASSASSINS," according to a statement from L.A. GUNS. The band adds: "L.A. GUNS thanks Michael for his contributions, and we wish him all the best with his future endeavors."

L.A. GUNS guitarist Tracii Guns said in an Instagram post about Grant: "Love this dude. I wasn't involved in his departure from the band. People come and go and I'll miss him badly in the band. Rock on, bro!"

Last October, L.A. GUNS singer Phil Lewis told Love Is Pop that the "chemistry" between Grant and Guns was "fantastic." He added: "Michael has so much respect for Tracii's playing. You could just see it when they play together. And Tracii is one of these guys; he's not like a Rick Derringer, who refuses to let anybody else solo. He lets Michael fly. There's a few times in the set and Tracii just steps back and he goes, 'Go.' And he's smiling from ear to ear. And it's just amazing. These impromptu jams the two of them strike up in the middle of a song. It's fun for me and it's fun for them. And, actually, believe it or not, fun for the crowd. There are no self-indulgent solos. It's [not] just a guitar player going widdly, widdly, widdly. It's not. Everything we do showcases the virtuoso abilities of those guys in the jam context. So, it's cool. It's never boring. It's got a groove to it. Who knows how long they can go on for? Sometimes a couple of minutes. Sometimes it can go on for ten. But it's never dull."

Tracii and Lewis reunited in 2016 under the L.A. GUNS banner and released arguably the most critically praised album of their catalog, "The Missing Peace".

L.A. GUNS will release a new CD, DVD and Blu-ray, "Made In Milan", on March 23 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Late AC/DC singer Bon Scott has been honored with a sculpture in Melbourne, Australia.

The three-meter-high-and-two-meter-wide metal-and-plaster sculpture was officially unveiled Tuesday morning (March 6) on AC/DC Lane, named for the Australian rock band.

The sculpture is part of the Victorian Government's "Rockin' The Laneways" Initiative. Cherry Bar owner and booker James Young collaborated with local street artist Mike Makatron on the project.

Makatron said in a statement: "It's an honor to add a permanent 3D element that pays tribute to a great Australian rock 'n' roll band and its lead singer, Bon Scott, but also to music in general. Thanks to all, especially the vision of James Young of Cherry Bar, who instigated the idea and grant application with Creative Victoria."

Quipping that "Sydney has the Opera House and Melbourne has Bon Scott," James Young added that the spot chosen for the sculpture is "the perfect place to honor Bon Scott and to provide inspiration for aspiring musicians and music fans."

Scott was invited to join AC/DC by Glasgow-born brothers and founding members Malcolm and Angus Young in 1974, and achieved international stardom before his death at the age of 33 in 1980 from alcohol poisoning.

He sang on AC/DC's first six studio albums, including "High Voltage", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "Let There Be Rock" and "Highway To Hell".

AC/DC guitarist Angus Young told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the band almost didn't get past Scott's death. "Bon was the big… He was a full-on frontman, plus he had this great character, you know. I mean, he just lived that rock 'n' roll life. With Bon, what you saw was what you got, and, yeah, it was pretty, pretty tough."

The official lyric video for "Long Distance Love", a solo song from legendary rocker Rick Parfitt of STATUS QUO fame, can be seen below.

When the awful news broke on Christmas Eve 2016 that Parfitt had passed, fans around the world were devastated that one of rock's most iconic performers had been silenced.

However, unknown to almost anyone, Parfitt had, in fact, virtually completed his first solo album whilst undergoing a period of recuperation after his heart attack in July.

That album, poignantly titled "Over And Out", will now be released on March 23 through earMUSIC.

Featuring 10 brand new songs, including the title track that broke hearts anew when it was played at Parfitt's funeral, this is an album of depth and passion. Created by Parfitt and producer Jo Webb, the record is a true labor of love and showcases the softer side of Parfitt as a writer, artist, and performer away from the QUO maelstrom, as well as the purest rock 'n' roll sound of earlier STATUS QUO records.

Despite the fact Parfitt had finished recording his guitar and vocal parts, a recording session was planned for February 2017. Certain tracks were not totally finished when Parfitt died. The call to help ensure that his work could be completed, so that the world could hear it, was answered by musicians of the caliber of QUEEN's Brian May and MUSE's Chris Wolstenholme, both of whom were close to Parfitt.

His son, Rick Parfitt Jr., was also involved in the creative process, as were John "Rhino" Edwards and Alan Lancaster, amongst many others. All of those involved in completing the songs that Parfitt had written for "Over And Out" have done him proud in bringing his vision to fruition.

Parfitt's music always featured two elements — the raw rock 'n' roll sound and a great passion for melodies. "Over And Out" offers the best of both worlds: It has been recorded and written with a band's spirit between Parfitt and Webb. They shared various mixes, reflecting the sound of the sessions and the spirit that was present in the "room."

The album has also been mixed by top producer Ash Howes, offering a different view on the songs but also leaving a dilemma open for interpretation: Which one would Parfitt prefer?

The polished, big sounding mixes or the original band mixes, raw and full of musical honesty?

Those who were close enough to him over the years would probably say: "Both."

This is why the album will be available in its "finished" form, but also as a raw and pure version, for the fans of the rockier side of Parfitt's music in special collector's editions.

This album is the record that Parfitt had been itching to write. His forced departure from QUO's live performance circuit, while very hard for him to take, did at least free up the time that was needed to create "Over And Out".

The album is but the latest element of the incredible legacy and body of work that Parfitt leaves. A testament to his talent, his winning way with words, an incredible joie de vivre, and a spirit that never flagged. He'll be missed but "Over And Out" is a great way to remember him — gone but not forgotten.

Legendary LED ZEPPELIN singer Robert Plant took part in a performance and interview on last night's (Thursday, February 1) episode of "The Late Late Show With James Corden" on the CBS television network. Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

ROBERT PLANT & THE SENSATION SPACE SHIFTERS kicked off their U.S. tour on February 9 in Raleigh, North Carolina. On the trek, they are playing a set tapping into Plant's latest album, "Carry Fire", and 2014's "Lullaby And.. The Ceaseless Roar", along with several folk and bluegrass standards, as well as his 1998 collaboration with Jimmy Page, "Please Read The Letter", which also found a home on his Grammy Award-winning "Raising Sand" album with Alison Krauss.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, highlights for fans are the several tips of the hat to his LED ZEPPELIN years with performances of "That's The Way", "Gallows Pole", "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", "Misty Mountain Hop" and the show-closing "Whole Lotta Love". Plant's '80s career is represented by just one track, the concert's second-to-last song, "In The Mood".

DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Don Airey will release his new solo album, "One Of A Kind", on May 25 via earMUSIC as 2CD (including a bonus live CD) as well as on vinyl and digitally.

It is hard to find a name amongst all those that over the last 30 years have left their mark in the history of rock that has not utilized Don's keyboard skills at some point. The list includes OZZY OSBOURNE, RAINBOW, WHITESNAKE, JUDAS PRIEST, Gary Moore, Brian May, JETHRO TULL, BLACK SABBATH and, obviously, DEEP PURPLE, the band of which Airey has been a full-time member for over 15 years.

But Airey has never been a session player. Bands and artists work with him for his unique musical vision, for the twist he gives to songs. It is with the same passion, the same energy, the same talent that Don Airey approaches his very own songwriting.

"One Of A Kind" is a true classic hard rock gem with melodies, great riffs and solos and a unique band unity. To top it all, his new solo album has been written and recorded using the spirit of a band featuring the following talented musicians: Carl Sentance (from the current lineup of British legends NAZARETH) is a singer that all fans of metal voices like those of Rob Halford and Graham Bonnet will love; bassist Laurence Cottle, who has played with everyone from BLACK SABBATH to Gary Moore to Chick Corea, forges a great rhythm section with the thunderous talent of Jon Finnigan, apparently as loud on stage as he is at the after show parties. "One Of A Kind" is one song after the other for the delight of every hard rock fan, who would be making a big mistake were they to overlook this album.

It is not difficult to see Don Airey playing one day with DEEP PURPLE in front of 15,000 people, and the next day, playing the organ in the church of his beloved local village with the same concentration and respect for the music and the audience.

It is with the same spirit that Don shows no discernible effort moving from the glories of the last two DEEP PURPLE albums ("Now What?!" and "InFinite" both having benefitted from his ever present talent) to playing in clubs with his own band. And always with a big smile on his face as soon as the guitar roars in, waiting to reply with his Hammond.

The original lineup of Corby, U.K. metallers RAGING SPEEDHORN will reunite for a one-off show on October 6 at the Electric Ballroom in London. The news comes following on from a successful comeback started in 2014.

Since its reformation, the band has toured nationally and internationally, racking up appearances at every major metal festival in the U.K., and has released "Lost Ritual" in 2016. The band see this reunion as a celebration of its 20-year career.

Drummer Gordon Morison had this to say about the reunion: "Really happy to announce that we will be celebrating 20 years years of RAGING SPEEDHORN on October 6th at the amazing Electric Ballroom in London with the original band. This will never happen again, so if you want to see us smash London, go get your tickets now."

Guitarist Gaz Smith, who left the band in 2008, will be returning with original guitarist Tony Loughlin and bassist Darren Smith.

Said Gaz about the show: "Starting RAGING SPEEDHORN with the guys 20 years ago changed my life completely. It was and still is a huge part of me. I've never really been one for going back, as far as playing music goes, but to celebrate the 20th anniversary with a special, absolutely one-off show was just too fun a thing to turn down. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait!"

Support is set to come from New Orleans legends CROWBAR, returning sludge demons CHARGER and Northants noisemongers SCURGE.

Jim Palmer, guitarist for both CHARGER and SPEEDHORN's current line-up, had this to say: "We're excited to be able to bring the Fuzzbastard that is CHARGER to this show. It's gonna be a mega celebration of times gone by and I for one am looking forward to reliving all those memories for one night. We may even have a surprise to reveal for our lineup. Volume over talent!"

SPEEDHORN recently announced that it had signed with legendary British label Undergroove Records. A new seven-inch single is set for release later this year. The band i currently hard at work on their follow-up to "Lost Ritual".

According to Variety, LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst is directly a new movie called "Moose", starring John Travolta.

Travolta plays the title character, a "rabid film fan (who) stalks his favorite action hero and destroys the star's life."

The script was written by Durst and Dave Bekerman, and is based on events from Durst's own life.

Durst's directing credits include several videos (including LIMP BIZKIT's videos for "Nookie" and "Break Stuff"), the 2008 movie "The Longshots" (starring Ice Cube and Keke Palmer) and 2007's "The Education Of Charlie Banks" (starring Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Ritter).

"Moose" is shooting in Birmingham, Alabama and is scheduled to hit theatres later this year.

Holland's FaceCulture recently conducted an interview with NIGHTWISH mainman/keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. You can watch the entire two-part chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the musical and lyrical direction of the material he has already composed for NIGHTWISH's next album:

Tuomas: "It's still really early. All I can say is that I feel really excited — super excited — for the first time in months, years. And I have six songs now — the music, not the lyrics — but I know what these songs are about. I have the overall concept of the album in my head and I'm really excited to present it to the other members of the band at some point. I feel a bit relieved also that it's back and that in the near future we're gonna be able to get back together with the band and start working on these songs."

On whether the business side of NIGHTWISH affects the way he experiences and approaches music:

Tuomas: "Not music itself. I still do music for the exact same reasons as I did 22 years ago. But it would be naïve to say that it doesn't change the dynamics of the whole monster at all. It does. It's become such a big thing that you can't really control it anymore in a way that you would like to. And I sort of let go years ago. I've never been a control freak — quite the contrary. I like to give everybody a lot of room, and I believe in [giving] everybody their place. I have no knowhow or interest in managing or selling shows or anything to do with the business and the money side. So you just need to find the perfect trustworthy people to take care of that crap, because nobody in the band wants to do that. So, okay, we have that fixed. I don't know how to play the guitar, so that's why we have Emppu [Vuorinen]. So everybody has their place. And in that way, I'm not a control freak at all, because I want these people to do their thing. But there are some things that I would like to be in control of, because it's NIGHTWISH, it's my brainchild, it's something that I like deeply. And then sometimes I see really weird compilation albums like all the best NIGHTWISH ballads one more time with [former NIGHTWISH singer] Tarja [Turunen], that nobody asked us [if we were okay with], and you see it there as an official release. It kind of sucks. So this is what I mean by not having control over anything anymore, and it's a bit tiresome."

On what makes the current NIGHTWISH lineup so perfect for him:

Tuomas: "I don't take it for granted, for one. Jus the past few years, the chemistry has been really good. I think you can see it on stage, you can hear it on the previous album. It's just really good at the moment. But, like I said, none of us takes it for granted; you have to work for it. And I hope everybody remembers that on the upcoming tour as well, and in the future."

NIGHTWISH's next album, which is tentatively due in 2020, will mark the band's second full-length release with singer Floor Jansen, who has been touring with the group since 2012.

A new NIGHTWISH 2CD compilation titled "Decades" will be released on March 9. The release will be accompanied by a nine-month tour across the globe. After kicking off with 34 concerts in North America in March-April, the journey will continue with dozens of European festival and headline shows. On this tour, NIGHTWISH will also be presenting a special setlist, featuring rare material from the early years of the band's career.

AC/DC singer Brian Johnson joined rock and roll icon Mick Fleetwood on stage on March 4 at Fleetwood's On Front St., a restaurant and bar owned by Fleetwood in Maui, Hawaii, to perform the 1940s rhythm and blues standard "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66". Video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

Johnson was forced to leave AC/DC in March 2016, midway through its world tour in support of "Rock Or Bust", after doctors told him he faced total hearing loss if he continued to perform live. His replacement for the balance of the dates was GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose.

Johnson joined AC/DC in 1980 following the death of vocalist Bon Scott. He made his debut with the band on that year's "Back In Black" album, one of the most successful LPs of all time.

The rock legend and car aficionado spoke to The Sunday Times about his passion for the most magnificent four-wheeled vehicles in history and he also touched upon the hearing problems that ended his 36-year career with AC/DC.

"On stage, it was getting harder and harder to hear the guitars, even hear the keys, and I was basically going on muscle memory," Brian said. "And I'm not the kind of guy who likes to cheat. The way I look at it, I had a great run."

Two years ago, Johnson said in an open letter to fans that he intended to solve his hearing problem and continue recording and touring, although he pointedly did not say whether he would be rejoining AC/DC.

The vocalist wrote: "My entire focus is to continue medical treatment to improve my hearing. I am hoping that in time my hearing will improve and allow me to return to live concert performances. While the outcome is uncertain, my attitude is optimistic."

AC/DC's future remains in doubt after the band completed its last world tour, a cycle that saw a massive turnover in the group's personnel. Guitarist Angus Young has not yet indicated whether the group will continue recording and touring.

The lineup that completed the tour consisted of Young, Rose, bassist Cliff Williams, Chris Slade on drums and Angus's nephew Stevie Young on guitar.

Slash's solo band, dubbed SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS, is rumored to be putting the finishing touches on a new studio album for a fall release.

The GUNS N' ROSES guitarist has not officially confirmed that he is back in the studio working on the follow-up to 2014's "World On Fire", but it is believed that he and his bandmates have been laying down tracks since at least January.

Rumors of a new CONSPIRATORS disc were started last December when Slash's girlfriend Meegan Hodges told a fan on Instagram that the guitarist was in the studio with singer Myles Kennedy recording the next CONSPIRATORS album. But Kennedy claimed in a radio interview a short time later that there were no concrete plans for him to reunite with Slash and work on new music. The vocalist, who also fronts ALTER BRIDGE, went on to say that he would spend most of 2018 touring in support of his solo album, "Year Of The Tiger", with 2019 likely to be dominated by his commitments to ALTER BRIDGE.

After a fan reached out to Meegan on Instagram asking her to clarify her previous comments following Kennedy's remarks, she responded, "Maybe you should ask the band guys," and followed it up with a smiley face.

Kennedy has said in various interviews that he and Slash had about half an album's worth of new material in the works toward the end of the "World On Fire" touring cycle, but Slash's touring commitments with GUNS had prevented him from becoming involved in any other projects.

After Slash and the CONSPIRATORS toured "World On Fire", rumors about the long-awaited GUNS N' ROSES reunion tour began to circulate and were confirmed in early 2016.

The current GUNS trek — which features Slash and fellow original members Axl Rose and Duff McKagan — launched in April 2016 and has since grossed more than $400 million, with more European dates coming this summer.

GUNS N' ROSES has been off the road since November when it completed the North American stadium and arena run leg of the "Not In This Lifetime" reunion tour with three shows in Los Angeles.

Despite the success of the tour, there has been no indication that GUNS intends to record a new album anytime soon. The last GUNS studio album, "Chinese Democracy", came out in 2008 and featured only Axl Rose from the band's classic lineup. The last album on which Rose, McKagan and Slash appeared together was 1993's covers set "The Spaghetti Incident?"

"Year Of The Tiger" will be released on March 9 via Napalm Records. The effort was helmed by ALTER BRIDGE's longtime producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette.

Washington, D.C.-based metal band, Gloom, has announced a one-month run of new tour dates in which they will be the openers for Rings Of Saturn, Nekrogoblikon, Allegaeon, Lorna Shore and Entheos. Dates kick off on March 2nd at Club Red in Phoenix, AZ and wrap up on March 30th at the Gas Monkey in Dallas, TX.

"This whole tour package and experience is great! We're only three shows in and two were sold out," says frontman Bill Calomiris. "The crowds are responsive and everyone is really positive about how this bodes for the rest of the tour. Each band on this package brings something fresh to the table. It's not a tour where every band you're going to see is one genre, I think the audience knows that and comes with a more open mind which is really refreshing!"

After being announced at the UK-Tech-Metal-Fest 2018, and signing to Long Branch Records, Unprocessed have released their first single "Haven", from the upcoming album Covenant. A video for the song can be found below.

Unprocessed is a progressive metal band hailing from Hessias central City Wiesbaden in Germany. Ever since the band was founded in 2014, Unprocessed has shared the stage with bands like Monuments, Betraying The Martyrs, Being As An Ocean, Napoleon, and As They Burn, went on a first EU tour and played numerous shows in and around Germany, promoting the first releases, In Concretion (2014) and Perception (2016).

Unprocessed's sound features insanely fast palm muted, chugged guitar-riffs and shredding solos that meet soundscapes from another dimension, guttural vocals that are contrasted by lucid and melodic clean singing. A sharp bass tone and groovy, yet detail oriented drum-lines form a massive rhythm section and add a lot of pressure to the bands overall sound. This mixture shows that this young band is ready to conquer the scene.

From the mid-'80s until last decade, Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven, Netherlands was an iconic metal festival and the go-to-place for metal maniacs from all Europe.

It all started in 1981, when André Verhuysen and a friend opened their Hard Rock Café (not the world-spanning franchise you might think of) within the Dynamo Youth Centre in Eindhoven, the Netherlands and before the year was over, the small group of enthusiasts booked RAVEN, the first ever band to play the venue, who turned in a killer performance for 300 ecstatic fans in a sold-out show.

As the time went on, live acts became the norm and in 1986, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of what by then had become hot under the name Dynamo Rock Club, André launched the first ever Dynamo Open Air on the car parking lot outside of the club. Bands such as SATAN, ANGEL WITCH and ONSLAUGHT played to an audience estimated at 5,000.

In 1994, Dynamo Open Air entered the Dutch record books by achieving the largest and longest-lasting traffic jam in the history of the Netherlands. At the same time, with a massive 70,000 attendees, it became the largest metal gathering of its time in Europe, possibly in the world! No wonder with acts such as DANZIG, GOREFEST, CLAWFINGER, LIFE OF AGONY, PRONG, SICK OF IT ALL and KYUSS on board. However, that figure got put to shame one year later, counting up to 110,000 metal heads in '95.

Trying to find a suitable home for the ever-growing festival, Dynamo Open Air moved its location several times. In 2005 it took place for the last time, featuring top acts such as TESTAMENT, OBITUARY, TRIVIUM and ANTHRAX.

Through the course of its impressive 20-year lifespan, mega-acts such as METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, PANTERA, MARILYN MANSON, SEPULTURA, MONSTER MAGNET, MACHINE HEAD, BIOHAZARD and many more entered the Dynamo stages and helped make it one of if not the most influential metal festivals throughout Europe.

Now, 13 years after the festival's last run and with the help of Caroline/Universal, Dynamo Concerts opens the secret archives of live recordings and starts releasing the legendary concerts for the first time on CD and vinyl as well as digitally, and selected titles on DVD. With more than 300 recorded shows to review and process, it's an undertaking that will easily stretch over the next couple of years. In many cases, these remastered, unique and previously unreleased or even unheard recordings will be the perfect vehicle to travel back in time and witness first hand, how bands that became superstars later gave their debut performance for a European crowd.

The first two releases, live performances of PANTERA and SOULFLY from 1998, will be available on June 22, 2018.

"Soulfly: Live At Dynamo Open Air 1998" encapsulates the eclectic thrash metal band's live performance debut. At this show, SOULFLY played songs from its first album as well as SEPULTURA classics such as "Beneath The Remains" and "Roots Bloody Roots". Guests at this special show include Chino Moreno (DEFTONES) and Benji Webbe (SKINDRED).

New York hardcore veterans MADBALL have finished recording their new album, "For The Cause". Helming the sessions for the follow-up to 2014's "Hardcore Lives" was RANCID's Tim Armstrong, a longtime friend of MADBALL singer Freddy Cricien. The new disc is being mixed and mastered by Danish producer Tue Madsen, who has previously worked with MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED and SICK OF IT ALL, among others. Former MADBALL guitarist Matt Henderson laid down the guitar tracks in the studio but will not join the group on tour.

Cricien said: "Tim and us go way back. He's an old friend and super-talented guy... across the board! A legend in his own right. He invited us to come record with him and it all fell into place very organically. He's respected our band from day one and was excited to be a part of this. We're honored to have him on board."

Bass player Hoya Roc added: "We got a real good album. It feels like the movie 'Pulp Fiction'. We've got every style of hardcore in there. It feels like we've got something special!"

"For The Cause" features a guest appearance on one track by rapper, actor and BODY COUNT frontman Ice-T.

The original version of the "For The Cause" title track was released last September via the "Family Biz" split seven-inch single, which saw the Cricien-fronted outfit joining forces with Pennsylvania's blue-collar-core heroes WISDOM IN CHAINS.

Speaking on the song, Cricien said: "It's about staying the course and fighting for what you love and are passionate about. It's a theme that you'll hear a lot throughout our next album. Utilizing negativity and the obstacles you face as inspiration. 'Say I can't, say I won't again... Give me the fuel that I need to ascend!'"

Last October, MADBALL parted ways with longtime guitarist Brian "Mitts" Daniels. The New York outfit called the split "a very hard and heartbreaking decision for all involved."

Two weeks ago, MONSTER MAGNET premiered the second single from its forthcoming album, "Mindfucker" — a smokin'-hot, rocket-fueled version of HAWKWIND lead singer Robert Calvert's "Ejection". The original song is a true '70s classic and couldn't be a better choice to lead the way to what to expect from MONSTER MAGNET's 11th studio album.

No surprise then that Dave Wyndorf and Co. deliver the cosmic chaos with their brand new video, a great homage to space rock godfathers HAWKWIND as well as a clear reflection of the roar and shake blazing forth on "Mindfucker". Check out the clip below.

Being the huge HAWKWIND fans we are, AMON DÜÜL fans, GROUNDHOGS fans… that whole thing. 'Last Patrol' was very, very influenced by space rock, and there'll always be elements of space rock in MONSTER MAGNET stuff, but we brought it back to what we were influenced by as kids, which would be the Detroit thing: STOOGES, MC5, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD. Very punchy, American… That's really what it is. All I can say is the word 'Detroit' always keeps coming to mind."

MONSTER MAGNET's last release was "Cobras And Fire (The Mastermind Redux)", which came out in October 2015. The album was dubbed an "alternative listening experience" to the band's 2010 effort "Mastermind". The approach was similar to what MONSTER MAGNET did in 2014 when they took "Last Patrol", pulled the songs apart and rebuilt them as "Milking The Stars: A Re-Imagining Of Last Patrol".

Corners Of Sanctuary (COS) have announced that the group’s longtime singer, Frankie Cross, who mutually parted ways with them last year, has stepped back into the role as COS frontman.

The band is already billed for a string of shows including performances with Roughhouse, Blood Feast, Anvil Bitch and Joey Belladonna along with a tour in Germany later this summer to support the release of their upcoming fifth album, The Galloping Horde, releasing on Killer Metal Records.

“It’s great to have Frankie back in the fold,” said COS bassist James Pera. “We are excited about what lies ahead for the band and are very happy to have Frankie part of the adventure again. We’re like a family.”

The new album will feature Cross on lead vocals and will initially see the light of day as a digital release later this month followed by a CD release that will coincide with the group’s mini-tour in Europe this August.

“There’s been a lot happening with us over that last eight months. A lot of changes and the new album has gone through more than a few incarnations, said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. "Nothing beats the original vision we had for the music and that included Frankie, so that’s what we decided to stick with.”

The Galloping Hordes has already begun building a buzz as both the band and fans patiently await the album’s official release.

“We are definitely revved up about getting the new music out there and sharing it with everyone,” Pera said. “This album was a game changer for us on several different levels. It’s a strong representation of our growth and style.”

When asked how he felt to be back with Corners Of Sanctuary, Cross stated, “Sometimes you just need to step back a bit so you can continue to move forward with what you love. This gives me a chance to refocus and to recharge. These guys are my brothers and being back is great! It’s like being back home again. You never really leave ‘cause there’s always a piece of it with you no matter where you go and right now it’s good to be home.”

THE MAGPIE SALUTE has joined the Provogue label, which is part of the Mascot Label Group.

The band, which brings together the reunited guitar team of Rich Robinson and Marc Ford from THE BLACK CROWES, bassist Sven Pipien (also from the CROWES) along with lead singer John Hogg (HOOKAH BROWN, MOKE), drummer Joe Magistro and guitarist Nico Bereciartua, has entered a studio in Nashville, Tennessee to begin recording its debut album. The currently untitled record is due out later this summer.

"We're all very excited to start a new partnership with Mascot Label Group," Rich Robinson commented. "We've just started recording our first original music for release this summer. We can't wait to see you out there on the road."

UMe will release DEF LEPPARD's "Live At Abbey Road Studios", an exclusive, limited-edition vinyl EP, on Record Store Day, the annual celebration of the annual celebration of independent record stores, taking place on Saturday, April 21. Limited to 4,000 copies, the 12-inch single includes three tracks recorded at Abbey Road a decade ago.

The three songs — "C'mon C'mon", "Rock On" and "Rocket" — were laid down during a May 8, 2008 session while DEF LEPPARD was promoting its "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" album. The session was filmed for the U.K. TV show "Live From Abbey Road" and was broadcast in August 2008 on More4 TV.

Last year, DEF LEPPARD commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2015's self-titled album.

"Def Leppard" was the band's first studio effort since "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge". It entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 10 with first-week sales of just over 30,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales.

DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY will join forces for a massive co-headlining tour of North American stadiums and arenas. The 58-city trek will kick off on May 21 in Hartford, Connecticut and run through October 6 in Los Angeles.

To celebrate Record Store Day 2018 (Saturday, April 21st), Pink Floyd will release the band’s debut album, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn, on vinyl, with a new mono 2018 remaster by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. Remastered from the original 1967 mono mix, the release is the latest from Pink Floyd Records, which has recently marked global sales of over 1 million vinyl LPs since its launch in June 2016.

The limited-edition Record Store Day release is delivered on premium 12” 180-gram black vinyl, and comes paired with an exclusive poster (540 x 388mm on art paper), as well as a foil blocked outer wallet.

Written and performed by Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Nick Mason, The Piper At The Gates of Dawn is the only studio album to be released under Barrett's leadership. The album, recorded with producer Norman Smith at Abbey Road Studios, features songs that remained on the band’s live setlist for many years, such as "Astronomy Domine" and "Interstellar Overdrive".

The album’s cover artwork, shot by photographer Vic Singh, was captured through a prism lens that Beatles guitarist George Harrison gave him. This same lens is now on display as part of The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains, currently at Rome’s MACRO museum.

The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is released via Record Store Day participating stores on April 21st.

In celebration of what has become one of the most eagerly anticipated days for all true music lovers - Record Store Day - Hell & Back Recordings (via Silver Lining Music) has announced that Europe will be releasing a limited edition collectible vinyl on April 21st.

Europe will release a 12” picture-disc of their latest album Walk The Earth (which just won a Swedish Grammy for Best Album) featuring the cover art by famed Los Angeles artist Mike Sportes of Filth Mart. The Picture Disc will be housed in a clear PVC sleeve with product sticker.

Their seventh album, The Apostates, is the latest and greatest in Glorior Belli's canon of disparate black metal. Glorior Belli smashes orthodox black metal rules; honing their pitch-black extremity with sinewy and serpentine heavy rock riffs. The resulting new album proves once again that their left-hand path always travels forward.

Legendary thrash/black metal power force Necrodeath have released a lyric video for the song "The Whore Of Salem", the new single from their upcoming album The Age Of Dead Christ, which will be available from March 9th via Scarlet Records (vinyl version on Terror From Hell Records). Watch the new clip below.

The Age Of Dead Christ is Necrodeath's 11th album, 33 years after their inception into the scene, when the now legendary demo tape The Shining Pentagram was released. 33 as the age of Christ, the dead Christ, as the title of the album says. Necrodeath go back to their roots releasing one of the fastest, most violent and brutal chapters in their deadly musical path. The cover resembles the typical artwork of the Eighties demo tapes and features the band's old logo.

The Age Of Dead Christ includes the song "The Return Of The Undead", a new version of the band’s classic "The Undead" (originally included on the 1987 debut album Into The Macabre), featuring yet another extreme metal legend on vocals, the mighty A.C. Wild of Bulldozer.

Drummer Peso comments: “Back to our black origins with thrashing brutality! The Age Of Dead Christ is a violent, loud punch in your blood thirsty mouth! Beware! Necrodeath are back to kick your asses and tear your bloody guts off!”
