TRISKELYON – Canadian Thrashers Release “Sealed Hypocrisy” VideoCanadian thrash Triskelyon unleashed their third album, Shattered Elysium this past September via Moribund Records to follow Artificial Insanity, (2023) and Downfall (2022). With this lethal third strike, Triskelyon’s band leader Geoff Waye once again drafted some of the finest emissaries of the Canadian Metal scene.
Enlisting the vocal talents of guests Amanda Kiernan (Into Eternity, The Order of Chaos), Eric Forrest (E-Force, ex-VoiVod), Tiina Teal (Détente), Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Fíochmhar (Artach), and Des Mason & Pete Healey, this album detonates as a pure and true thrash metal masterpiece. It features a unique style and refreshing variations full of thrashing classics! Traditional yet intricate thrash drum duties are exceptionally executed by Raul Marques (Burning Torment), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), Rick White, and Darrin Pope are conscripted on bass.
Today, Triskelyon presents their latest music video "Sealed Hypocrisy", which features vocals from Amanda Kiernan (Into Eternity, The Order of Chaos).
Band founder and guitarist Geoff Waye comments:
"Without being overly specific, this song condemns hypocritical individuals or groups who present themselves as virtuous and morally superior, yet whose actions and true nature are deeply flawed and insincere. It expresses revulsion and anger towards these impostors, using vivid imagery to expose and punish their deceit. The song highlights the emptiness of their grand gestures, moral posturing, and empty virtue signaling, ultimately calling for the downfall of their hypocrisy. The video represents just a fraction of the types of groups and individuals that fit this description."
Shattered Elysium runs the gamut from pure 80’s thrash and speed

LIFE OF AGONY To Perform Entire 'Ugly' Album On 30th-Anniversary Tour In 2025In a new interview with Ryan of the 97.7 QLZ radio station, LIFE OF AGONY guitarist Joseph Zampella (a.k.a. Joey Z) was asked if there are any plans for a follow-up to the band's "The Sound Of Scars" album, which came out in 2019. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Well, this song [the recently released LIFE OF AGONY single 'The Crow (In Memory Of B.L.)'] I feel like gave us a little bit of a boost, which is great. We're a band that we really feel out when that writing magic is happening. We have a lot of plans for 2025, so we'll be together a lot. So I'm sure we'll be talking about some new music or sharing some new music with each other. It happens all the time.'
He continued: "When it comes to a full record, for us it's the timing of our lives that really plays a huge role in that. It's just timing, and we have a lot of plans and some big tours being announced soon that we're gonna be doing in 2025. One I could talk about is we're gonna be doing the 'Ugly' album in its entirety. We're gonna do an 'Ugly' 30th-anniversary tour. We did [an anniversary tour for] 'River Runs Red' [LIFE OF AGONY's debut album] last year, in 2023. 'Ugly' is another fan-favorite record; it was our second record. And we've been asked a whole bunch of times by fans and by industry people if we're gonna do a 30-year tour for that album, because the 'River Runs Red' tour was so successful. And it looks like we're gonna do it. So there's some nice, big plans happening in 2025, so we'll get to spend a lot of time together, which is great. And we also are doing this really cool co-headlining tour that I can't talk about yet. I'm not allowed. And the band is so cool. It's gonna be announced soon, I believe, because the artwork's even being created right now. I saw a couple of drafts going back and forth the other day Alan [Robert], by the way, our bass player is an amazing artist and he does a lot of the art for the band. So he's wrapping up a couple of drafts for that tour right now, and it's gonna be a special tour. That's happening in Europe, and I'm guessing, with the success of it in Europe, that we'll end up doing some shows also in America with this co-headlining, this pair, this matchup that we got going on. So it's exciting. I wish I could talk about it, but I'm not allowed. So, yeah, I gotta button it up. I gotta zip it up. [Laughs]"
"The Crow (In Memory Of B.L.)" was released in late August. The track's accompanying music video, which was directed by Derek Soto/Sinestra Studios, with motion graphics by The Dor Brothers, can be seen below.
LIFE OF AGONY has a long history of paying homage to the films that helped shape their teenage years. Back in 1995, the band covered SIMPLE MINDS' "Don't You (Forget About Me)" on the group's "Ugly" album; the song was made famous by the movie "The Breakfast Club". In 1997, on their album "Soul Searching Sun", a music video for the song "Desire" incorporated visuals reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining". That tradition continues with "The Crow (In Memory Of B.L.)", which pays tribute to the fallen star Brandon Lee, who tragically lost his life during the filming of the cult classic "The Crow", released 30 years ago.
"The Crow (In Memory Of B.L.)" was recorded in New York City at the legendary Sear Sound studio, best known for hit albums by David Bowie and John Lennon, as well as at The Nest Studio in Long Island, New York. The song was recorded, produced, and mixed by Zampella (who also co-produced the group's last album "The Sound Of Scars"). The song was mastered by Grammy Award winner Howie Weinberg (NIRVANA, SMASHING PUMPKINS, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS).
With 2024 marking the 30th anniversary of Brandon Lee's "The Crow" film, and all of the controversy surrounding the new Bill Skarsgård remake, LIFE OF AGONY felt inspired to go back and give respect to the '94 film that made such a huge impact on them during their early years.
"There's something very special about the original 'Crow' that made it timeless, and there's a reason that it resonated with us as kids," explained Robert. "It was an absolute tragedy… Brandon Lee was killed the year we did our first album 'River Runs Red', and by the time 'The Crow' came out in '94, he was already a legend. Brandon completely embodied the role, made it iconic, and lost his life in the process. It was just so incredibly sad and affected us deeply. He was such a charismatic character and in the very beginning stages of his career. Director Alex Proyas captured lightning in a bottle."

Watch: SHAVO ODADJIAN's SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET Performs At MAYHEM FestivalSEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET, the genre-defying, alternative metal collective led by Shavo Odadjian (SYSTEM OF A DOWN),made its festival debut at this year's Mayhem festival on October 12 at the Glen Helen Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, California. Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below (courtesy of D.A.'s Live Vault and Den Live).
SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET's self-titled debut album was released on October 11 via Sumerian Records and 1336 Records.
Shavo is joined in the group by vocalist Taylor Barber (LEFT TO SUFFER),WINDS OF PLAGUE guitarist Michael Montoya (a.k.a. Morgoth Beatz, a producer and songwriter who has previously collaborated with Travis Barker, JuiceWrld, Lil Xan, Jonathan Davis, ISSUES and many more),guitarist/backing vocalist Alejandro Aranda (a.k.a. Scarypoolparty, "American Idol") and drummer Josh Johnson (WINDS OF PLAGUE).
SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET made its live debut on Monday (October 7) at the SiriusXM Garage in Los Angeles, California.
Shavo recently told RIFF Magazine about how SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET came about: "It was funny. My number's 22, so that's why I have the [cannabis] brand 22Red. So on February 22nd, 2022, we threw a party and the day of the party, I did a live radio show on KROQ here in Los Angeles. And that evening, we were throwing the party for 22Red, but I did that show before and I invited the host to the party. He asked me if he could bring a friend. I said, 'Sure.' He brought his friend. It was Morgoth Beatz who ended up being the producer and now my rhythm guitar player in the band and co-songwriter in some of them songs and stuff. So he and I decided we can write music that day together. So we exchanged numbers and we got together like a month later, wrote a song, and then we did another one a week later. And then it just became this thing where it was gonna be like one song we were going to sell to another artist, 'cause that's what he does; he writes a lot of music and he passes it on. But it became this thing. And he mentioned, he's, like, 'Man, why don't you do a Shavo record? Like something with all of the songs that you wrote instead of just one or two songs. These are coming out great.' And at that point, I wasn't really thinking about doing my own record like that, 'cause I've done so many other projects. And another thing is I've never done heavy music outside of SYSTEM. It's been heavy, but never the same genre. I've always tried to stay against the grain, and I've done EDM, I've done hip-hop, I've done rock-metal shit, but I haven't really just focused on that, which actually is my forte. I close my eyes and it just happens, which is how we did this."
Shavo continued: "So I was at his studio. I have my own studio. I gave him the key. I said, 'Come through. We're gonna start working on this record.' And a year and a half later, we have a full record, plus another half a record for album two. We have a full band. I started my own label and I signed it to Sumerian, who has worldwide distribution to Virgin, which is amazing for me. That's what I kind of wanted with the control. I've been doing this for 30 years, so I kind of knew how I wanted it, and I'm building it. And that's how it started. And that's where we're at right now. It started off as a passion project [and it] became my thing."
Regarding how the songwriting process for SYSTEM OF A DOWN was different from how he approached his previously projects, Shavo said: "Yeah, usually I'll write at home and then I'll bring it to the band. Or my other projects, I've just written at home and then brought it to the rest of the guys. This one, I would just have him play a beat that he made, or even just a 4/4, or even a loop or something, and then I just kind of… I mean, I just started strumming and the music just came out of me. So we just recorded everything I did. And whenever something was amazing, we knew it. I was, like, 'Okay, make that a thing.' So we highlighted that moment. And then afterwards I wrote a part that goes with that, and then kind of arranged it, wrote it all in the studio. So artistically it was really refreshing. There was no boundaries, no law, no rules. I just did it. It just came out so organically. Everything about it has been organic and not planned. And that's what the beauty of SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET."
On the topic of how he came up with the name of the SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET, Shavo said: "He [Morgoth Beatz] wanted to call it SHAV or SHAVO, so people know it's me, and I wrote 95 percent of it. But still, I always like a unit, I like a band. I think it's cooler. And plus he helped me a lot. These guys, they came in and did their part, and it just works perfectly. So I like the collaboration. I've never had the ego, where it's, like, 'me, me, me.' I've never done that. I've never said that. So I like it. It's us. And it became a band. And SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET, the acronym, is S.H.A.V. So that's cool. So they got what they wanted and I got what I wanted. I got a band, the cool name mysterious, but it also has a meaning, but I'm never gonna explain the meaning. It's kind of one of those things. There's many meanings you can think of what 'Violet' is — it could be a female, it could be a thing, the color, an event, it could be anything, and it's kind of cool. So there is some deep meaning to it and maybe one day we'll explain it, but at the moment, I like it where we are."
Regarding the other members of SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET, Shavo said: "My singer, Taylor Barber, he comes from the world of deathcore and the growling. His voice is an instrument, and he's a wonder. He's like the new wonder of the world that no one knows yet that's there. He does have a following and he comes from another band called LEFT TO SUFFER, which is a grindcore band. But he sings like a canary as well. His range is so huge. He's the perfect member. He's the perfect singer that came in and can do all the parts. And then also we got Alejandro Aranda, who, he is just this musical genius who came in. He was the last member, and I didn't even know I needed that member, but, now it's, like, of course I needed him. Of course he fit perfectly. He does side vocals. He sings along with Taylor perfectly. So it's like a two-vocal band now, two-vocalist band. And we got Josh Johnson on the drums, and he's amazing. He hails from a band called WINDS OF PLAGUE; he used to play with them. So he's talented as hell. So, yeah, I'm honored and lucky to have these guys around me and for us to be able to do this music together."
SEVEN HOURS AFTER VIOLET is:
Taylor Barber - Vocals
Morgoth - Guitar, Production
Shavo Odadjian - Bass
Alejandro Aranda - Guitar/Backing Vocals
Josh Johnson - Drums

BLACK SABBATH Bassist GEEZER BUTLER Honored By Animal Wellness OrganizationBLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler was honored by Center For A Humane Economy for his lifetime commitment to animal welfare.
Butler was among four game-changing individuals recognized by the Center For A Humane Economy, including its Global Council For Animals, at the event, the first Malibu Sunset Soirée For Animals, which was held on October 5 in Malibu, California.
Other individuals honored for advancing animal welfare in the state and across the country were:
* Alison Eastwood, acclaimed director and actress, for her leadership in her work for companion animals, including her animal-care facility in Agoura Hills.
* Laurie McGrath, philanthropist, for her unwavering commitment in helping secure major gains for animals, including Proposition 2 (farm animal welfare) in California and end to the use of chimpanzees nationwide in invasive experiments.
* Gary Michelson, MD, scientist and philanthropist, for his pioneering work in animal welfare and his work to pass the FDA Modernization Act 2.0
Wayne Pacelle, president of the Center For A Humane Economy and its sister organization, Animal Wellness Action, remarked: "The honorees exemplify the compassion and commitment needed to drive real change for animals within California but also on the national stage. It is no exaggeration to say that millions of animals will be spared torment and cruelty because of their selfless dedication to the well-being of animals."
On Saturday (October 12),Butler shared a few photos and a short video from the first Malibu Sunset Soirée For Animals, and he included the following message: "I'm not sure what was more shocking; me getting an award for something that @gloriadeebutler kept as a surprise or that #talronnen actually left @crossroadskitchen to present it to me. Cheers, Tal. Cheers to the #globalcouncilforanimals & #centerforhumaneeconomy".
The event also highlighted recent successes in California that have stirred national action, including:
* Passing Prop 12, prohibiting the sale of animal products from animals raised in extreme confinement — with the Supreme Court of the United States last year upholding the landmark law as a proper exercise of state authority.
* Banning the trade of kangaroo parts and protecting native wildlife, with new national legislation introduced modeled after the California law.
* Outlawing trophy hunting of mountain lions and bobcats, with Colorado citizens now having an opportunity in this fall’s election to replicate that policy in the Rocky Mountain State.
* Halting the use of toxic lead ammunition in hunting, which has triggered a national campaign to halt the massive use of the toxic element in sport hunting.
* Ending horse slaughter for human consumption, with the Congress poised at some point soon to enact a ban on live exports of horses for slaughter for consumption.
The event was organized by a host committee of Gloria Butler (Geezer's wife and manager),Stacey Kivowitz and Bobi Leonard, with sponsorship from The Schuman Family Foundation, Casey Gordon Real Estate and Fairfield Farm.
Center For A Humane Economy is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) whose mission is to help animals by helping forge a more humane economic order. The first organization of its kind in the animal protection movement, the Center encourages businesses to honor their social responsibilities in a culture where consumers, investors, and other key stakeholders abhor cruelty and the degradation of the environment and embrace innovation as a means of eliminating both. The Center believes helping animals helps us all.
Animal Wellness Action is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(4) whose mission is to help animals by promoting laws and regulations at federal, state and local levels that forbid cruelty to all animals. The group also works to enforce existing anti-cruelty and wildlife protection laws.
The Global Council For Animals is a dedicated group of volunteers working to advance animal protection efforts worldwide. In collaboration with the Center For A Humane Economy and Animal Wellness Action, the Council supports legislative and corporate reforms to improve the lives of animals.
In a 2023 interview with Dave Lawrence, Geezer spoke about how he became vegan virtually overnight more than six decades ago. The now-75-year-old British-born musician said: "Well, I've always loved animals, and we always had animals in the house. We always had a dog around the house and various cats. I found a tortoise one day, so I had a tortoise. There was goldfish and all kinds of stuff in the house. And this one day… I never really liked eating meat, but my mom used to always put it on my plate; it was always, like, the last piece… She to feed seven kids and my dad, so I always got the smallest piece of meat. And this one day I cut it up and then blood came out of it. And I didn't know what meat was. And I said to my mom, 'There's blood coming out of this thing that you've given me.' 'Yeah, it's meat from a cow.' And I went, 'What? From an animal?' And that was it. I was about eight years old at the time. And that was it. I've never eaten meat since."
Butler went on to say that he was "lucky" that his mother "didn't pressurize" him into eating meat. "She understood where I was coming from, so she always gave me vegetables," he explained.
Back in 2009, Butler teamed up with peta2 — the world's largest youth animal rights organization — to shoot a pro-vegetarian ad featuring Geezer as he picked at his bass next to the tagline "I'm Geezer Butler, and I'm a vegan." At the time, he told peta2 that he enjoyed having friends over for dinner, serving them faux meat, and waiting for the compliments to start rolling in before telling his guests that they just ate a delicious vegan meal. And his compassion for animals goes beyond the dinner table. Butler and his wife are very involved in the battle against puppy mills and the cat and dog overpopulation crisis.
"There are so many dogs and cats and all kinds of animals [who] need homes," he said. "You know, there's no reason to go out and buy them from a pet shop when you can just get them from your local shelter."
In 2016, Butler told Devils Gate Media about his involvement with peta2: "I've grown up with animals in the house, I have three brothers and three sisters, and all of us had cats, dogs, mice, chickens, frogs, tortoises, so they've always been a big part of my life. My dog, Scamp, was my best friend when I was growing up, and he was just as much a brother to me as my human brothers. Someone threw acid on him, and he almost died, but my parents spent their life savings having him treated. It appalled me that people could be so cruel, and ever since I have stuck up for animals. It is something I can be active in, unlike trying to figure out the appalling things humans do to each other."
Butler spent much of the last year and a half promoting his autobiography, "Into The Void: From Birth To Black Sabbath – And Beyond", which was released in June 2023 in North America via HarperCollins imprint Dey Street Books.

GUERNICA MANCINI Is 'Proud' Of Getting Fired From THUNDERMOTHER: 'I Feel Like That's Almost Like A Badge Of Honor'In a new interview with The Whatever, Buddy?! Podcast, ex- THUNDERMOTHER singer Guernica Mancini spoke about the formation of her current band THE GEMS. The latter group came together in February 2023 when it was announced that Mancini, Emlee Johansson (drums) and Mona Lindgren (bass) were exiting THUNDERMOTHER after a six-year run. At the same time, guitarist Filippa Nässil revealed that she would continue with a new THUNDERMOTHER lineup featuring singer Linnéa Vikström (THERION, AT THE MOVIES) and returning bassist Majsan Lindberg. Filippa has also since recruited Joan Massing (HONEY CREEK) as THUNDERMOTHER's new drummer.
Mancini said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "THE GEMS started in January 2023, and it was a result of me getting fired from THUNDERMOTHER and the rest of the band quitting because of me getting fired."
Asked why she got fired from THUNDERMOTHER, Guernica said: "Oh, there's a million reasons, but I would say number one would be the guitar player hates me [laughs] and we're polar opposite people. And I've always kind of stood up to her like; I didn't take her shit, and it was like a constant wave of just abuse."
She continued: "Honestly, I don't feel ashamed of anything, and I've been quite honest from day one because I have nothing to be ashamed of. I'm even proud of the fact that I got fired because I feel like that's almost like a badge of honor. That means that I'm a really good person because I'm not the first one that that happened to. [We were] the sixth lineup that got fired. And now we're actually friends with all the former bandmates, former 'Thundermothers'… [We have] our own little community of survivors, and we're open when the new lineup, when it's time to change them out again, we're here with open arms waiting for them and knowing exactly what they've gone through."
Regarding how THE GEMS, which sees Lindgren returning to her original instrument, the guitar, managed to release its first song, "Like A Phoenix", just four months after Mancini, Johansson and Lindgren exited THUNDERMOTHER, Guernica said: "The thing is we have worked so hard on building up THUNDERMOTHER, the three people that left the band, we were the ones that were really driving THUNDERMOTHER ahead. We really wanted to do the big stages. We had all these huge dreams and ambitions. And we did the SCORPIONS tour — in the fall of 2022, we did a North American tour supporting SCORPIONS as THUNDERMOTHER. I'm really proud of that. And they loved us. So they wanted us to do the entire European tour. That was because we did a great job, the fans really enjoyed what we were doing and we were respectful. We impressed them enough to then they wanting us to do the whole European tour. So we had all these really cool things lined up that we had worked our asses off to get. And so when she [Filippa] then went crazy and just changed everything, we just felt that it was almost our duty to take advantage of our own momentum that we had built. Even though we were a brand new band name, we felt like those fans are our fans. We built up those fans. The biggest songs that that band has ever had are the songs that we wrote together. All these are factual things that anyone can look up. So, yeah, we just felt it was super important to make sure people understood that we have no intention in quitting music. This is something a crazy person decided and we're not gonna allow that to ruin our dreams and what we wanna accomplish."
Asked how she felt when Emlee and Mona both voluntarily left THUNDERMOTHER, once they found out Mancini was being kicked out of the group, Guernica said: "I love them. I love them so much, and I'm forever grateful for that. And I just feel like I have two really amazing people on my side. Because, yeah, if they didn't do that, I would probably be in a huge dark hole of depression. I don't know. It would be harder to pick myself up, because we would be crying, writing songs, going through the hurt of a breakup or whatever. We used all that as fuel in the writing, and you can hear it pretty clearly on the debut [THE GEMS] album, 'Phoenix'. And, yeah, we just decided that we would work really fast. So basically the same week as everything happened, we booked a writing session. And we wanted our first single to come out even quicker, but then we got signed within three months."
In the summer of 2023, Filippa opened up about the latest THUNDERMOTHER lineup changes in an interview with Bloodstream TV, saying: "Well, we were together seven years — and that is Guernica, the singer, and Emlee, the drummer. And it [was] amazing; we did so much together. But in the end, we couldn't communicate. 'Cause you travel and you live together all the time. Not even when you say 'hi' to each other. I cannot live a rock and roll lifestyle like this. So I tried to solve it for a long time — like, 'This doesn't work. We have to communicate and be respectful,' and whatever. And it didn't work out. One person didn't come to the meeting, so we had to move forward. Because this is a business as well, and a rock and roll band, and it's supposed to be fun and good and loving also, because we need to support each other. And when that's not the case… Well, I fired [Guernica] — that's the first time I'm saying that now, actually — because she didn't come to the meetings I set up to mediate. We need to talk and be able to work together. Because it's more and more business, and then you can't work and then you can't do your shows. Because it's e-mails and everything — it's a lot of stuff."
Nässil continued: "So friendship — okay, I can buy that; you don't have to be friends. But I think it's much better now anyway. And I'm very happy with… 'Cause I took the old singer… Not the old singer, but a singer that I really loved and admired for a long time called Linnéa Vikström. I actually asked her for the job in THUNDERMOTHER seven years ago, but she wasn't available. She had too much to do, 'cause she sang with THERION, a big metal band, around the world. And [she has] a lot of experience, but we're also good friends. So it's been hard for her to sort of take over something, but it's been fantastic. And everyone says it's really good."
THE GEMS' debut album, "Phoenix", arrived in January 2024 via Napalm Records.
THE GEMS made their live debut on March 22, 2023 at Pustervik in Gothenburg, Sweden as the support act for THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA.
In early March 2023, Nässil shared a six-minute video in which she addressed some of the questions surrounding the departures of Mancini, Johansson and Lindgren as well as her decision to carry on with a new lineup. She said in part: "Some stuff you read online and even now in some magazines is true and some stuff has more to it," she explained. "I mean, there's a depth to what happened and it's impossible to read in a few lines or a quote from someone. And I wanna assure you and tell you guys that I did my absolute best to work everything out between the old members. I think we should be conscious in what we're saying and trust that I have done my absolute best for peace, love and rock and roll and I did everything in my power to work it out with the previous bandmembers. I would never throw anybody under the bridge. I think that's another private matter. What happened has been behind the curtain, so to speak, so it's not everything that people need to know about or should know about because it's just unnecessary to throw stuff at each other, I think."

JOHN 5 Says MÖTLEY CRÜE's Upcoming Las Vegas Residency Will Be 'Something People Have Never Seen Before'During an appearance on the October 10 episode of SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist John 5 spoke about the band's recently released "Cancelled" EP, which contains the title track, MÖTLEY CRÜE's cover version of the BEASTIE BOYS classic "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" and "Dogs Of War", which was originally made available in April. Asked if he has contributed to the songwriting process for the two new songs on "Cancelled", alongside bassist Nikki Sixx, who is MÖTLEY CRÜE's primary songwriter, John 5 said: "Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Just like [the song] 'The Dirt' and all the other songs on 'The Dirt' [soundtrack, which was released in 2019]. Yeah, me and Nikki work amazing together. And Tommy [Lee, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer] is incredible. He's a great writer. So everybody just gets together and does it all together. And I think there's something very special about that, because we don't see a lot of bands nowadays that are super close. And I was just talking to Tommy seconds before I got up here. He was just calling. 'Hey, dude, what's up?' I think that's really important, and you don't see that a lot nowadays."
John 5 also talked about MÖTLEY CRÜE's upcoming third Las Vegas residency, which will unfold over 11 shows at the Dolby Live at Park MGM theater in March and April 2025. The CRÜE's third Vegas residency is being billed as a "tell-all show [that] will immerse the audience in the band's history, leading all the say through their record-breaking 'Stadium Tour'." They previously set up shop in Vegas in 2012 for "Mötley Crüe Takes On Sin City" and in 2013 for "Evening In Hell".
John 5 said: "We're so excited. We're so excited. And we're gonna dive deep into the catalog and we're gonna do all sorts of cool stuff. And this venue has this Dolby Atmos, and the sound is unbelievable. It is shocking how incredible the sound is. I mean, it goes over your head and goes over here, goes over there. We're gonna do some really, really special things."
He continued: "We are super, super excited. And Tommy is a whiz with that stuff, with the Dolby Atmos and all that. We're so excited. But I love Vegas, and I just can't wait. It's gonna be insane — absolutely insane, like a MÖTLEY CRÜE show you've never seen before, or heard before."
Asked if MÖTLEY CRÜE Las Vegas residency will celebrate the band's fifth studio album, "Dr. Feelgood", which turned 35 years old in 2024, John 5 said: "I'm not sure. I don't wanna say too much, but it is going to be something like people have never seen before. It's gonna be incredible."
Earlier in the month, Sixx was asked by USA Today if he feels like CRÜE paved the way for AEROSMITH, SCORPIONS, DEF LEPPARD and other rockers who have since established Vegas residencies. Nikki replied: "We had a lot of people raising eyebrows when we [first] did it [in 2012], like, isn't that where bands go to die? But it's such a great opportunity. Last year we played a 400-capacity club in London [The Underworld] the night before selling out Wembley Stadium and did the same at the Bowery [Ballroom in New York]. It inspired this idea of intimacy and ginormity, if that's a word. Being in the smallest room and then the biggest room and there is a lot of talk about how to do that in Vegas as well as reimagine some tracks. Although, of course, we're going to play the hits."
About the prospect of staying in one place during the Vegas run, Sixx told USA Today: "Creatively, it's exciting for the band. But for me, I love that I can do a show in one place and keep my family together. That's my balancing act, to make sure I'm there for my family and for the fans. I would not be opposed to doing a long run in Vegas. I love the idea of popping in my car, driving to the Strip to do a rock show and then coming back home."
In a separate interview with Miami's WSVN-TV, Sixx promised that MÖTLEY CRÜE would play the hits during the Vegas run, along with some possible surprises. "We have to look at, make sure that, you know, we're giving the fans exactly what they want — those songs are great — but also listening to the fans," he said. "They're looking for some deeper tracks, some B tracks, maybe reimagined tracks would be fun for us."
Tickets for the following 11 shows went on sale to the public Friday, October 11, with shows starting at 8 p.m. and doors opening at 7 p.m.
March 2025: 28, 29
April 2025: 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19
MÖTLEY CRÜE also announced that a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales of "The Las Vegas Residency" will be donated to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, a Las Vegas-based organization that provides the thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada with wraparound support to help youth move into stable housing, grow, and flourish. The announcement marks another extension of the band's new philanthropic endeavor, the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative — a moniker under which the band partners with non-profits close to Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and John 5's hearts. Fans of the band can currently bid on rare collectible stage-played instruments from MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Höllywood Takeöver" club shows, with proceeds from the auction benefitting Covenant House, a non-profit supporting youth experiencing homelessness, and the inaugural charity to benefit from the Giveback Initiative's endowment.
The Las Vegas residency news follows on the heels of the band's recent announcement of their return to where it all began, the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, with a three-night string of exclusive, intimate club shows at the Troubadour, The Roxy and the Whisky A Go Go.
Produced by Bob Rock, the "Cancelled" EP marks MÖTLEY CRÜE's first release with Big Machine.
Additionally, MÖTLEY CRÜE are celebrating the 35th anniversary of No. 1 Billboard Top 200 and six-times-platinum landmark album "Dr. Feelgood" with a limited-edition box set, available for pre-order and out everywhere on November 22, 2024.

Italy’s MESSA Signs To Metal Blade RecordsMetal Blade Records have announced Italian doomster Messa to its worldwide roster.
Messa play evoking doom metal with middle-eastern vibes. Deliciously haunting female vocals, ‘70s guitars and Arabian Oudh combine to conjure a sound that is all of their own. With influences as diverse as Dead Can Dance, Om, Swans, Killing Joke, Electric Wizard, Thergothon, Current 93, the band has moved from the first occult then noir-tinged doom metal of their previous works to a new atmospheric mediterranean sound which is unique. The evolution is clearly showcased in their latest studio album Close.
Messa emerged in the first day of 2014. Marco and Sara started to develop the basic concept while writing the first songs. Later on, Alberto and Rocco joined the band. The extreme diversity of their musical background immediately proved to be essential in the construction of the band's sound. In 2016 their first opus Belfry was released, and the band made several tours across Europe and USA. In 2018 their second work Feast For Water brought the band on tour even more extensively.
Their latest studio work Close, released in 2022, was acclaimed by critics. Some appearances made by the band were Hellfest Open Air, Roadburn, and Desert Fest. The band's latest record Live At Roadburn was released April 7th 2023, offering their main-stage triumph, joined by a unique constellation of musicians and instruments. Seeming to both embrace and defy everything it means to be a metal band, Messa mesh Mediterranean sounds with crushing doom riffs, with an emphasis on atmosphere and unusual use of i

CRAZY LIXX Shares New Single “Little Miss Dangerous”Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx are back with a new single "Little Miss Dangerous" alongside an accompanying official video. This new music is out today via Frontiers Music Srl.
Vocalist Danny Rexon comments on the track:
“We're bringing you another brand new rocking single, and this time it's the first ever song to be fully co-written by myself and bass player Jens Anderson. In addition to that, it's the longest song we've ever released as a single (with its 6+ minute runtime) and I feel like it has a few elements and an overall feeling that's a bit different compared to a lot of our previous stuff.
“I love the song and can't wait to see what people's reactions are going to be. And no, it's not a cover of the 1986 Ted Nugent song of the same name, but by the sound of it, ours could very well have been released in 1986 - it fits like a glove.”
Crazy Lixx recently celebrated their 20+ year career, with the compilation 'Two Shots At Glory,' released on February 16, 2024, and featuring reimagined renditions of their iconic successes.
The compilation was introduced by reimagined classics from the band’s catalog “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot”, “Lights Out!,” and “Fire It Up!”, all accompanied by UST videos that draw inspiration from a wide range of films, from blockbuster hits of the ‘90s to lesser-known ‘80s B-movies. They've gained immense popular

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's MICHAEL GILBERT Opens Up About Battle With Colon Cancer: 'I'm Very Thankful That I'm Still Around'In a new interview with Scotty J of Rock Titan, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM guitarist Michael Gilbert opened up about how he beat colon cancer 25 years ago during his time away from the band. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Nobody knows this, but a long, long, long time ago, I had some issues with my stomach, and I ended up having my whole large intestine removed — all of it gone. Yeah, there's some complications that happened there, but anyways, years later I was at the doctor and he was asking questions. It was a new doctor, a new primary physician… But anyways, the doctor came and asked me some questions, and I told him that I had a colectomy years ago. And he goes, 'Well, you and I both know that that can't be done.' And I said, 'What? What do you mean that can't be done? It was done to me. How can it not be? Here I am. I'm still alive.' And this is a true story. And I said, 'Okay, I'm leaving now.' And he's, like, 'Well, why are you leaving?' I go, 'Because you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.' I go, 'I want my copay back and I'm never coming [back].' And I found a new physician after that. But that's where our healthcare is at. They don't give a fuck. They don't care."
Gilbert went on to say that he was battling "full-blown cancer in my colon," explaining that "they removed it. I had the bag, had the ileostomy bag for several months and everything got reversed. That doctor knew what he was doing," he said. "That guy saved my life, for sure. That was one dude that really cared. And this happened in 1999, so, again, when I say I'm very thankful that I'm still around and still playing in the band — there was a time there where I didn't even think I would make it another week… And it definitely gave me a huge, different outlook on life. And when I forget it, there's always something around to put me in check again. And I'm very thankful to be here."
According to Gilbert, he had "never shared that with any anybody in any interviews" before because he "was never sure how people take it, 'cause it makes people nervous and they don't know what to say."
As for what he hopes other people take away from his experience, Michael said: "I'm not an expert on it or anything like that, but I know what happened to me and I've watched over the years how much more prevalent it's becoming. I would say it's what's in our food, what's in the preservatives in our food. Like I said, I'm no expert on it, but that's the real pandemic right now, is cancer. Coronavirus, it was definitely super, super, super bad, but there's so many people that have it right now. And yeah, you should get checked out. Everybody should get checked out, for sure."
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's latest album, "I Am The Weapon", is the band's fifth release since the return of Gilbert, who is the only other member of the current FLOTSAM lineup, besides singer Eric "AK" Knutson, to have played on the group's debut LP, 1986's "Doomsday For The Deceiver".
Knutson told the Arizona Republic in a 2021 interview that Gilbert's 2010 return to FLOTSAM AND JETSAM after a 13-year absence was a pivotal moment in the band's rebirth.
"Michael was always a big part of the writing team back in the day," Knutson said. "And when he left, I just kind of used the band as an excuse to go on vacation in Europe a couple times a year. I really wasn't that worried about what the songs sounded like. I was just like, 'Okay, let's put a record out so we can get out on tour again.' We weren't serious about it." When Gilbert returned, Eric said, "We decided to make another serious stab at it and we've just been going uphill ever since."
"I Am The Weapon" arrived on September 13, 2024 via AFM/Believe.
It's been 38 years since FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, formed in Phoenix, Arizona, released "Doomsday For The Deceiver", the only album to ever receive a 6K rating from the influential British magazine Kerrang! Bassist Jason Newsted would jump ship to METALLICA while the band released "No Place For Disgrace" in 1988. "Cuatro" (1992),"Drift" (1995),"High" (1997) and "My God" (2001) all still rank extremely high in heavy metal circles. But it was the first part of this unofficial trilogy in 2016's self-titled "Flotsam And Jetsam", followed by the crushing 2019 successor "The End Of Chaos" that a certain rejuvenation and reset was clearly felt.

The setlist for the Whisky A Go Go concert was as follows:

14. Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)

16. Kickstart My Heart
Fan-filmed video is available below.
The three club shows are following on the heels of the October 4 release of MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Cancelled" EP, the band's debut record with Big Machine, which features three new songs: Top 5 rock radio hit "Dogs Of War"; new single "Fight For Your Right", a cover of the BEASTIE BOYS classic "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)"; and as well as the record's title track, "Cancelled".
In addition to the special shows and EP release, a MÖTLEY CRÜE pop-up store with exclusive, band-curated merchandise opened on October 6 at the world-famous Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and remain open through October 12 from 3 p.m. PT to midnight daily.
Tying into the events on the Sunset Strip in October, MÖTLEY CRÜE is also introducing its new philanthropic endeavor, the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative, a moniker under which the band will partner with different non-profit organizations near and dear to their hearts moving forward.
MÖTLEY CRÜE's version of "Fight For Your Right" has quickly become a fan favorite since the band first debuted the song live during their secret 2023 club show at The Underworld in London, U.K. At its premiere, 450 lucky, sweat-drenched fans who came out to see a band advertised as DÖGS OF WAR got the surprise of a lifetime when MÖTLEY CRÜE took the stage with the BEASTIE BOYS classic in their set list.
The veil of speculation surrounding the DÖGS OF WAR pseudonym was finally lifted when the band released their first new single since 2019 by the "Dogs Of War" name in the spring of 2024. "Dogs Of War" subsequently became a Top 5 Rock Radio hit, accompanied by a highly acclaimed music video by director Nick DenBoer. The cutting-edge visual, which is entirely CGI-based, features the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE navigating an exhilarating post-apocalyptic world.
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee told Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast last year that he and his bandmates felt inspired to write a song called "Cancelled" because they were surprised it never happened to them.
"There was this article that was like, 'How did MÖTLEY CRÜE ever not get cancelled?'" he said. "And we were like, 'Fuck, we've gotta write a song about that because we didn't ever get it.' We snuck in under the whatever threshold, wherever that was, where we got away with fucking murder."
MÖTLEY CRÜE's deal with Big Machine sees the band and the label working together again after making the 2014 project "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe", which featured CRÜE tracks covered by country stars RASCAL FLATTS, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, Darius Rucker and more. Big Machine also partnered with MÖTLEY CRÜE's new guitarist John 5 for the release of his 2021 album "Sinner".
MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.
In 2018, MÖTLEY CRÜE recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", "Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
John 5 joined MÖTLEY CRÜE in the fall of 2022 as the replacement for the band's co-founding guitarist Mick Mars. Mick announced his retirement from touring with MÖTLEY CRÜE in October 2022 as a result of worsening health issues.
In a recent interview with Janne Innanfors of the Swedish radio station Rockklassiker, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx stated about the mixed response to "Dogs Of War" from the band's fans: "We like the fact that there was kind of a knee-jerk reaction, because at least people were listening. It's a very strange time now where, whether it's a news cycle or socials, everybody has turned into a critic. And I always say, they've never erected a statue of a critic. It's never happened, right? It's always the artist. But now everybody's a critic. So within a short amount of time, we get, 'We love it.' 'We hate it.' 'You're over.' 'You've reinvented yourself.' 'It sounds like 'Shout At The Devil'. 'It sucks.' And we just kind of sit there and go, 'That's cool, guys, but we didn't really ask for any input from you.' We're just artists writing music, and we're pretty cool. I'm happy with it. I like it."
During an appearance on SiriusXM Fight Nation's "Busted Open" show, Sixx discussed the musical direction of "Dogs Of War", saying: "A lot of people said it's a different sound, but I'll be honest with you, I don't necessarily agree with that. If you listen to the verses, they're very similar to a lot of stuff that we've done — that simple, grinding thing with those almost CHEAP TRICK melodies. And the riff, I mean, it could be off of 'Dr. Feelgood'. So I don't really feel like it's that different. I think what's different for people is that when we were working on the song, Tommy [Lee, CRÜE drummer] had the idea to just let the bottom fall out in the verses, which is not really what we do. We usually go for it, and [it's] really unique for Vince [Neil, CRÜE singer]."
Vince chimed in: "I don't ever sing like that. But it works in the song." He added that "Dogs Of War" "was very easy to sing."
Nikki elaborated on the CRÜE songwriting process, saying: "I think what we do together is we all kind of know each other so well, we know each other's strengths and weaknesses. And for me as a lyricist, I'm always thinking about Vince and his tempo as I write. So it's not like out of the wheelhouse, but it's nice to know each other so well, if that makes sense."
When "Dogs Of War" was first released, Neil described the track as "like old school meets new school. It's got that old-school vibe about it, but it's new music. Nikki came up with it and he sent me the music and I thought it was really cool. So I started singing it and we got in the studio and it turned into the song I think the fans are really gonna like it."

Watch: FRANK BELLO Performs With ANTHRAX For First Time In More Than A YearBassist Frank Bello played his first show with ANTHRAX in nearly a year and a half Saturday night (October 12) at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California. Fan-filmed video of the concert can be seen below.
Bello and ANTHRAX were supposed to perform at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 27, but their show ended up being canceled due to severe weather.
Prior to Aftershock, Bello last played with ANTHRAX in May 2023 at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In April and early May, Bello sat out ANTHRAX's South American tour as well as two U.S. festival dates due to "personal reasons." Filling in on those shows was ANTHRAX founding member and original bassist Dan Lilker, marking his first appearance with the band in 40 years. Lilker, who co-wrote and played on ANTHRAX's debut album "Fistful Of Metal", was also a member of STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH with ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante and guitarist Scott Ian.
Frank made his live debut with Norwegian black metal veterans SATYRICON on June 6 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden.
Bello played bass for SATYRICON for the band's summer 2024 European festival appearances, including Hellfest in France and Tons Of Rock in Norway.
Frank released a memoir, "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax", in October 2021 via Rare Bird. The foreword to the book was written by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons.
Bello recently joined the Spector artist roster. Spector is currently developing the Frank Bello signature bass and it will be released in 2025. In the meantime, Frank will be exclusively playing Spector basses for rehearsals, recording, and on the upcoming European tour this November during ANTHRAX's co-headlining tour with German thrash titans KREATOR with Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT.

See Behind-The-Scenes Video Of MEGADETH's Appearance At 2024 GRASPOP METAL MEETINGProfessor Reggie Almeida of the Renzo Gracie TN Brazilian jiu-jitsu school in Tennessee, who has been traveling with MEGADETH on the band's recent tours, has uploaded backstage and performance video of the Dave Mustaine-fronted outfit's June 20, 2024 concert at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium. Check out the clip below.
MEGADETH recently completed the "Destroy All Enemies" U.S. tour with MUDVAYNE and ALL THAT REMAINS.
Launched on August 2 at Walmart AMP, Rogers, Arkansas, the trek, produced by Live Nation, hit 33 cities, including Las Vegas, Boston and St. Louis, before wrapping up on September 28 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari joined MEGADETH in September 2023 after the band's longtime axeman Kiko Loureiro, announced earlier that month that he would sit out the next leg of MEGADETH's "Crush The World" tour in order to stay home with his children back in Finland. It was later revealed that Mäntysaari would continue to play guitar for MEGADETH for the foreseeable future, with Loureiro seemingly having no plans to return.
The 37-year-old Mäntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and began playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band WINTERSUN. He has also been a member of SMACKBOUND since 2015.
MEGADETH played its first concert with Mäntysaari on September 6, 2023 at Revel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Loureiro officially joined MEGADETH in April 2015, about five months after Chris Broderick's exit from the group.
Since its inception in 1983, MEGADETH has ascended from its raw thrash metal roots to become an unstoppable force in the heavy metal world. With founder Dave Mustaine at the helm, MEGADETH's journey has been marked by a penchant for pushing the boundaries of speed, technicality, and complexity in their music. Their groundbreaking album "Rust In Peace", released in 1990, is frequently cited as a seminal work in the thrash metal genre. Along with the critically acclaimed "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?", it cemented MEGADETH's place in the annals of metal history.
Over four decades, the band's discography has earned numerous certifications, including platinum and multi-platinum awards, with albums like "Countdown To Extinction" and "Youthanasia" achieving widespread critical acclaim. 2016's "Dystopia" not only marked a high point with their first Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" after twelve nominations but also set the stage for their latest triumph, "The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!" in 2022. MEGADETH's status as part of the "Big Four" of thrash metal underscores their trailblazing role in the genre, laying the groundwork for countless bands and musicians who have followed in their wake. 1

Former MR. BUNGLE Member Found Guilty Of First-Degree MurderFormer MR. BUNGLE member Theobald "Theo" Brooks Lengyel is facing life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder on Friday, October 11.
The 55-year-old musician was accused of killing his girlfriend, 61-year-old Alice "Alyx" Kamakaokalani Herrmann, inside her home in Capitola, California.
According to CBS San Francisco, a jury in a Santa Cruz County courtroom deliberated for just one day before handing down the guilty verdict.
During the six-week trial, an audio recording was played, allegedly from Hermann's phone, of her begging for her life as Lengyel strangled her to death.
Hermann was last seen on December 3, 2023, prompting a missing person investigation from law enforcement agencies. Her remains were later found in Berkeley, California's Tilden Regional Park, and Lengyel was arrested on January 2.
According to SFGate, Lengyel was a founding member of MR. BUNGLE and spent nearly 10 years with the band, playing saxophone, clarinet and keyboards. He appeared on the MR. BUNGLE demo "The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny", as well as the band's first two major label albums, "Mr. Bungle" (1991) and "Disco Volante" (1995),
In a 2005 question-and-answer session, MR. BUNGLE bassist Trevor Dunn said Lengyel exited the group on bad terms.
"We unanimously decided to go on without him because he wasn't growing with the rest of the band and we were running out of things for him to do," Trevor said. "He got pissed off and I haven't heard from him since."

Watch: BIOHAZARD Joined By CYPRESS HILL's SEN DOG For 'How It Is' Performance At AFTERSHOCK FestivalSenen "Sen Dog" Reyes (CYPRESS HILL) joined BIOHAZARD on stage this past Thursday (October 10) at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California to perform the band's classic song "How It Is". Fan-filmed video of his appearance can be seen below.
The original version of "How It Is", featuring Sen Dog and LIMP BIZKIT's DJ Lethal, appeared on BIOHAZARD's 1994 album "State Of The World Address".
Sen Dog and BIOHAZARD vocalist/guitarist Billy Graziadei are bandmates in POWERFLO, which will release its new album, "Gorilla Warfare", on November 1 via New Damage Records.
In a recent interview with France's Loud TV, BIOHAZARD bassist/vocalist Evan Seinfeld confirmed that he and his bandmates were making a new album. Evan said: "I'm really excited about it. I'm writing a lot of lyrics right now, working on some music. All the guys are writing. It's exciting."
Asked when BIOHAZARD fans can expect to hear some new music, Evan said: "I imagine early next year. I couldn't tell you. We're working on it this year. We'll see what happens."
The first reunion gig from Graziadei,Seinfeld, guitarist Bobby Hambel and drummer Danny Schuler and took place on May 26, 2023 at the Milwaukee Metal Fest at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 2022, Graziadei said in an interview that there had been "talk" about putting BIOHAZARD back together.
The group, which is acknowledged as one of the earliest outfits to fuse hardcore punk and heavy metal with elements of hip-hop, had been out of the public eye since Scott Roberts left the band more than eight years ago.
Roberts, who played guitar on BIOHAZARD's 2005 album "Means To An End", rejoined the group in June 2011 as the replacement for Seinfeld. Scott fronted BIOHAZARD for nearly five years before exiting the band in February 2016.
In an August 2020 interview with the "Aftershocks" podcast, Roberts said that he left BIOHAZARD because he "wasn't happy" anymore. "There was one guy that I wasn't getting along with very well, and it made touring not fun anymore for me," he said. "My reason to stick around was to make a new record that was great and I'd be proud of and all that stuff, and then it became kind of clear that wasn't gonna happen, so I was, like, 'What am I doing it for?' So I quit."
Seinfeld made his last recorded appearance with BIOHAZARD on 2012's "Reborn In Defiance" album, which marked the first LP featuring the band's original lineup in 18 years.

SCOTT STAPP On Staying Sober: 'Drinking, At This Point In My Life, Is Not An Option'In a new interview with Stereogum, CREED frontman Scott Stapp — who has been open about his past substance abuse issues — was asked if it is difficult maintaining sobriety on a cruise ship, like on the band's two sold-out "Summer Of '99" cruises earlier this year. He responded: "No, it's not. I create my own world. And I have my own, my entire situation laid out for me and a big 5,000-square-foot cabin. And I actually brought my sponsor out, just because he's my friend. Not because I was concerned about having a drink. But my sponsor was there with me, and I had a couple of friends with me. And that's what I do. I create my own environment, my own sober environment."
He continued: "Drinking, at this point in my life, it's not an option. That's where I'm at. I wake up every day and have notes on my phone that remind me throughout the day, drinking is not an option. And I stay in touch with my sponsor and try to surround myself with other people trying to stay sober. And in doing that, I've only had two or three slips in the last 10 years. Which is a tremendous amount of progress from where I came. And hoping the next 10 years there'll be no slips."
Back in 2019, Stapp credited his family with helping him achieve sobriety after years of abusing alcohol, Xanax and Percocet.
"My [then-]wife and my kids were critical in helping me get sober," he told Meltdown of the Detroit radio station WRIF. "It got to the point where it was either get sober or lose my wife and kids, man, and that's about the lowest rock bottom that I could possibly have gotten to. So they were critical."
According to Stapp, the rock and roll lifestyle "definitely" contributed to him "going down that wrong path. I just had so much in front of me, and being so naïve, walking into it, I just didn't know how to handle it, and it got a hold of me," he explained. "And around the same time, I had my first onset of depression. And you combine that with self-medicating, with alcohol and whatever else you can find, and it's a bad scenario, man. And it took me years to really find out what was going on. I had to get to the other side of it. And it's so nice to be … on the other side of a wild ride."
This past May, People reported that Stapp and his wife Jaclyn were headed for divorce after 18 years of marriage.
The 51-year-old rocker and Jaclyn are parents to daughter Milan and sons Daniel and Anthony, while Stapp is also dad to son Jagger with ex-wife Hillaree Burns.
CREED played its first two shows in 12 years in April as the headliners of the "Summer Of '99" cruise. The band performed aboard a second cruise, the "Summer Of '99 And Beyond", traveling from Florida's Port Canaveral to Nassau from April 27 to May 1. A full-fledged tour, also dubbed "Summer Of '99" tour, produced by Live Nation, kicked off on July 17 and wrapped on September 28. Another tour, "Are You Ready?", will kick off in November and run through December.

Ex-KORN Drummer DAVID SILVERIA On Debut Album's 30th Anniversary: 'The Right Five Guys Came Together At The Perfect Time'On Saturday (October 12),the day after the 30th anniversary of the release of KORN's self-titled debut album, the band's original drummer David Silveria took to his Instagram to share the LP's cover art, and he included the following message: "When I was 10yrs old I got my first drum set. That's when I knew I wanted to play music for people everywhere. Then I met the guys and it all came true. But none of it would have happened without the fans all over the world. Thanks to you my childhood dream came true. The right five guys came together at the perfect time and made history.
"I have the sincerest gratitude towards the guys for their amazing creativity, their absolute dedication and hard work and their commitment to the band. I love you guys so much! Thank you to all for giving me this amazing blessed life! 30yrs and it feels like yesterday! I love you all:)".
In a 2021 interview with Rocking With Jam Man, David Silveria, who left KORN more than a decade and a half ago, was asked if there is any chance of him rejoining KORN in time for the group's 30th anniversary. He responded: "It would obviously take all of us talking. So far, I don't see any of that even happening. But you never know. You just never know."
Silveria also talked about his decision to exit KORN back in 2006. He said: "I left the band for a few reasons. One of them was because when we started out, we were all equal members and everything was supposed to be voted on and everyone had equal say in everything. And that slowly turned into a different way of things working that I totally, a hundred percent disagreed with. And at the same time, three days before I filmed the last video on [2005's] 'See You On The Other Side' [album], I was lifting weights in my garage and I was squatting, holding dumbbells and there was a TV above me. And I squatted down. Something on the TV got my attention and I fell backwards and I hit the ground. And I actually broke four bones in my lower back… It was actually a few years that went by before I had my back repaired. But I was in so much pain, I couldn't even do anything."
In 2019, Silveria revealed that he apologized to his former bandmates for the "wrong and mean" things he had said about them since his split from KORN. The drummer was said to be especially upset over the fact that the band welcomed back guitarist Brian "Head" Welch 11 years ago but wouldn't do the same for him. Welch left the group in 2005 and continued as a solo artist before rejoining in 2013.
"I was immature, hurt and mad that after Head [rejoined KORN,] they wouldn't let me back in," Silveria wrote in an Instagram post. "Specifically, because the year before Head came back, I personally talked to Head and tried to get him to, along with me, talk to the guys about both of us going back to KORN. At that time, Head said, 'David, you and I are good friends. But don't call me if you are only going to try to get me to go back to KORN. I will never go back.' Then, less than a year later, he goes back to KORN. On our phone call, he said very negative things about KORN, which I won't repeat. The things I said were wrong and mean. I haven't said anything negative about KORN in years now. I have the utmost respect for the guys and an appreciation for every one of those guys."
In June 2019, Silveria, said that he would be willing to mend fences with his former bandmates. "Yeah, I would have no problem with it any way whatsoever," he said during an appearance on the "Appetite For Distortion" podcast. "I have no problem with anybody whatsoever. I just think at some point our comminications broke down so bad that our managers were calling other bandmembers, saying, 'Okay, we talked to Jon [singer Jonathan Davis] about this or that. He wants to do this or that.' And I'm thinking, 'Why isn't Jon talking to us? Why is it happening like this?' And it just got worse and worse, to the point where we weren't even talking at all — nobody was even talking. It was so weird. I don't even know why the hell it ever got like that. It was so many years ago, I couldn't even imagine, at my age, ever having a relationship break down that bad and not just go up and say, 'Hey, we've gotta work this shit out. This is ridiculous.'"
Asked why he couldn't rekindle his relationship with his former bandmates, even if it's just on a friendship level, David said: "I really don't know why. I guess you have to ask those guys."
Silveria sued KORN in February 2015, insisting that his exit from the group was merely a hiatus and that he was rebuffed when he tried to return to the band in 2013. David said he still had ownership interest in KORN and asked a judge to force the band to reveal how much money they've made since he left so that he can get his rightful share. KORN countersued and the two sides reached an agreement in 2016 that called for Silveria to give up his rights to KORN royalties going forward in exchange for a lump sum.
A few years ago, Davis told The Pulse Of Radio that he believed Silveria had lost his passion for playing music, saying, "The first two albums, I think, he really enjoyed playing drums and then after that he just lost his love for playing drums. It happens."
David told fans in 2013 that KORN was not the same since he left, saying, "Until they have the real 'funky drummer' it's just not gonna groove the way it could. I've made it clear that I would come back and restore the groove."
In celebration of its milestone 30th anniversary, KORN played at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 5. This one-night-only performance featured special guests EVANESCENCE, GOJIRA, DARON MALAKIAN AND SCARS ON BROADWAY, SPIRITBOX and VENDED.
KORN kicked off its summer/fall 2024 North American tour on September 12 at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida. The band's 18-song setlist included "Oildale" off the band's 2010 LP "Korn III: Remember Who You Are" and "Hey Daddy", a track from KORN's 1999 album "Issues" which had only ever previously been performed almost 25 years ago.
KORN's 25-date Live Nation-produced trek featuring special guests, Grammy-nominated band GOJIRA and Canadian heavy metal group SPIRITBOX, will wrap up in St. Paul, Minnesota at Xcel Energy Center on October 27.

"I'm so proud of this record it changed so many things in my life.
"I remember my 24 year old self so nervous that I had opened my heart for the world to feel the pain I was going through at that time.
"It's so incredible it helped so many with there journey through the darkness we all know so well.
"@ross_robinson thank you for capturing every emotional breath I took the sound of my teeth grinding from the tension in my body.
"My brothers @munky_korn @brianheadwelch @fieldykorn @silveriadavid you guys gave me the most incredible music to do what I do. You guys made me feel safe and I'm forever grateful.
"To everyone that listened to this record I thank you with all my being. It gave me strength and this amazing feeling I wasn't alone in all this.
"Here's to many more years!!!! I love you all".

When the BMO show was first announced in March, Davis said in a statement: "Reflecting on thirty years of KORN fills me with such immense gratitude for our journey, the growth we've experienced, and the incredible bond we share with our fans. It's humbling to see how our music has touched so many lives across the globe. From our small club beginnings to now headlining stadiums, it's been an unforgettable ride, and we owe it all to our amazing, undying, loyal community that's made it possible. I'm really looking forward to this incredible night to celebrate together."
KORN changed the world with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1994. It was a record that would pioneer a genre, and blur others-leading into a larger cultural movement. Since forming, KORN has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, collected two Grammys, toured the world countless times, and set many records in the process that will likely never be surpassed. KORN has continued to push the limits of the rock, alternative and metal genres, while remaining a pillar of influence for legions of fans, and generations of artists around the globe.
The level of KORN's reach transcends accolades and platinum certifications. They are "a genuine movement in a way bands cannot be now," attests The Ringer. They represent a new archetype and radical innovation, their ability to transcend genre makes barriers seem irrelevant.

JON BON JOVI Endorses KAMALA HARRIS And TIM WALZ: 'The Truth Matters'Jon Bon Jovi has endorsed Kamala Harris for president by sharing his recent track "The People's House", featuring Michigan gospel and country duo THE WAR AND TREATY.
In a post on Friday (October 11) on social media, the 62-year-old BON JOVI frontman wrote: "The People's House is a song that celebrates this beautiful place that we call home, from sea to shining sea. The truth matters. And the truth is on election day I'll be voting for @KamalaHarris and @TimWalz because I believe in the power of we, not of me. I've written a song reminding us that out of many, we are still one."
Harris's husband, Doug Emhoff, responded to Jon's endorsement by sharing a photo he took with Bon Jovi.
"It's my wife, and it's now or never," Emhoff wrote. "Election's coming in November. Thanks for supporting Kamala, @JonBonJovi!"
Tim Walz also replied to Bon Jovi's post, writing in the comments: "Thanks, man — so grateful to have your support!"
In the past, Bon Jovi has supported other Democratic candidates for president and has released songs in the wake of George Floyd's death and in support of current U.S. president Joe Biden. Jon was also appointed by former U.S. president Barack Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions in 2010.
Bon Jovi reportedly attended a recent Harris fundraiser at the home of New Jersey governor Phil Murphy, with Emhoff also in attendance.
"The People's House" is taken from BON JOVI's latest album, "Forever", which came out in June.

03. Rapid Fire
04. Breaking The Law
05. Riding On The Wind
06. Love Bites

Encore:

JUDAS PRIEST recently kicked off leg two of its "Invincible Shield" tour with special guest SABATON. The all-time greats are taking over new markets in North America this fall with an additional 23 performances. Produced by Live Nation, the tour launched on September 13 at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec and makes stops in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Omaha, Nebraska; Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles, California; Phoenix, Arizona and more before wrapping up with three shows in Texas on October 22, 24 and 26.
In a new interview with Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford was asked what's on the horizon for him and his bandmates at the moment. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It's just this wonderful, wonderful renaissance going around, not only for PRIEST, but for metal in general, for bands that were there from the start. Our good friends SAXON, who we worked with recently in Europe — we were selling out places all over Europe because people not only are the fans of the band, but there are also people that were maybe on the outside looking and going, 'I've gotta check this out. What is this happening now? Why is there such a buzz about these bands?' And so we're thriving on that, we're thriving on that."
He continued: "We're so grateful and honored and humbled to be in this place all these years later and still have this thing called relevance. We're a relevant heavy metal band that's not living on their past glories. And there's nothing wrong with that. But we've always felt that who we are and what we're about is representative of what we're doing and saying now. So to have this glorious experience with [PRIEST's latest album] 'Invincible Shield', and it's not dissipating. There's still tremendous love and interest for that particular album and this band. And so we're just out there roaring away, giving you all of these moments from PRIEST right from the beginning of our metal lives to where we are right now with 'Invincible Shield'."
JUDAS PRIEST launched the spring 2024 U.S. leg of the "Invincible Shield" world tour on April 18 at Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut.
"Invincible Shield" entered the U.K. chart at No. 2, just behind Ariana Grande's "Eternal Sunshine".
Prior to "Invincible Shield"'s arrival, PRIEST's highest U.K. chart achievement was with 1980's "British Steel", which reached No. 4.
PRIEST's 2018 album "Firepower" entered the chart at No. 5.
"Invincible Shield" was JUDAS PRIEST's fifth Top 10 album, after the aforementioned "British Steel" and "Firepower", as well as 2014's "Redeemer Of Souls" (No. 6) and the 1979 live album "Unleashed In The East" (No. 10).
"Invincible Shield" landed at No. 1 in Germany, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as No. 5 in France, No. 8 in Italy and No. 16 in Australia.

Watch: THE OFFSPRING Performs 'Make It All Right' On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'THE OFFSPRING was the musical guest on last night's (Wednesday, October 9) episode of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band performed the song "Make It All Right", which is a track off the California pop-punk veterans' "Supercharged" album, due out October 11 via Concord Records.
"Make It All Right" hit No. 1 on both the Alternative Airplay chart (Mediabase) and the Active Rock chart (on Mediabase) as well as No. 1 on the Billboard Rock and Alternative Airplay chart. In addition, the band has released the high-energy track "Light It Up", as well as "Come To Brazil".
"Make It All Right" marked THE OFFSPRING's sixth No. 1 song on the Active Rock chart, following "I Choose" (1997),"Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" (1998),"The Kids Aren't Alright" (1999),"Hit That" (2003) and "Gone Away" (1997),which remained on No. 1 on the chart for five consecutive weeks and the song that QUEEN's own Brian May performed with them earlier this year. It also marked the first time ever THE OFFSPRING have had a No. 1 at both Alternative and Active Rock radio in the band's history.
On the Alternative Airplay chart, "Make It All Right" marked the band's fourth No. 1 song, following "Come Out And Play (Keep 'Em Separated)" in 1994, "Hit That" in 2003, and recent Spotify Billions Club inductee "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" which hit No. 1 for 11 weeks straight in 2008. This only adding to the accolades the band has hit over the years with over 40 million records sold worldwide.
The song also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. The No. 1 followed "Days Go By" which hit No. 4 in 2012 and "Coming For You" (No. 7 in 2015) and "Let The Bad Times Roll" (No. 5 in 2021) which hit Top 10.
"You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" off of their 2008 "Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace" album was recently added to Spotify's Billions Club after the song reached one billion streams on the platform. Prior to this "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" had already been certified platinum in the United States, United Kingdom and gold in Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany, and Denmark. Upon release, the song hit No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart (formerly the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart) and remained at the top spot for 11 weeks — making it the longest #1 of any of the band's singles. The Billions Club, which first launched in 2020, lists all of the songs that have reached one Billion streams on Spotify. THE OFFSPRING's infamous song has now joined the list which features songs from peers and icons including AC/DC, FLEETWOOD MAC, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Whitney Houston, THE KILLERS and more.
Recently, THE OFFSPRING surprised the crowd at Open Air Gampel in Switzerland with none other than Yungblud. The alt rocker joined the band for a performance of their song "Self Esteem" off their album "Smash". Not only did Yungblud join the band onstage for the song, but he hyped up the crowd by jumping offstage and onto the barrier all while singing along.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the six-times-platinum "Smash" album and the collaboration with Yungblud is just one of many this year already. Previously the band broke the Internet when they were joined by Ed Sheeran to perform one of his favorite songs "Million Miles Away". Sheeran not only said he was a massive fan of the band's but also has a tattoo inspired by their album "Conspiracy Of One". Then at Starmus Festival, THE OFFSPRING were joined by music industry legend — QUEEN's own Brian May and The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra for a performance of THE OFFSPRING's "Gone Away" and a cover of QUEEN's "Stone Cold Crazy".

DAVE 'SNAKE' SABO Looks Back On SKID ROW's 1995 Tour As Support Act For VAN HALEN: 'They Treated Us So Great'In a new interview with Trevor Joe Lennon, Dave "Snake" Sabo reflected on SKID ROW's 1995 tour as the support act for VAN HALEN. Asked what Eddie Van Halen was like "up close and personal", the SKID ROW guitarist said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "He treated us so amazingly. They all did. They treated us so great. I would see Eddie every day. I made sure — I wanted to see the soundcheck every day, 'cause I'm just such a fanboy. And I wanted to be around him and his playing as much as I could while we were out on the road. And I used to walk on stage right before a soundcheck and he'd walk over to me and we'd hug each other and he'd give me a kiss on the lips and ask me how I'm doing. And he was just such a sweetheart.
"Look, I don't know what other stories other people have," he continued. "All I can say is from my experience, he was the salt of the earth, man, and generous. We were talking about his amps, and at the time he was working with Peavey and doing the 5150 amplifiers through Peavey and doing the Wolfgang guitars through Peavey as well. And I'm, like, those amps are just incredible. He's, like, 'Oh, really? Okay, cool.' Well, cut to a couple of days later, we're playing in Camden, New Jersey at an amphitheater, and we were all still living in Jersey at this time. And so we drove our own cars down there. It was just really cool to be able to pull up in our own vehicles, and a bunch of family and friends were there. And so we're coming in the back area and he sees Scotti [Hill, SKID ROW guitarist] and me. He goes, 'Hey, hey, guys, come here. I got something for you. And he had two of the 5150 combos there waiting for us as gifts. And I was, like, 'You've got to be kidding me, man. Eddie Van Halen is giving us his signature amplifier. It's just crazy.' And so my heart will always have a special place [for Eddie]. And [VAN HALEN bassist] Michael Anthony, too. Sammy [Hagar, VAN HALEN singer] and Alex [Van Halen, VAN HALEN drummer] were great — I spent some time with them — but Michael Anthony, we spent a lot of time. Because behind his amp line, he would have a bar set up back there called Mad Anthony's Café. And we would go back there and do shots with him during the show, Jack Daniel's and stuff. And it was just a lot of fun. And I would go golfing with him once in a while. And he's just, to this day, again, he's just down to earth and humble and just a sweetheart of a guy. So, my memories are nothing but filled with admiration and respect and gratitude."
"Live In London", SKID ROW's first official live album and concert film, was released on September 20 via earMUSIC as a 2LP set and CD/DVD digipack. The concert took place on October 24, 2022, at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town.
"Live In London" marked SKID ROW's final release with Swedish singer Erik Grönwall, who quit the band seven months ago.
SKID ROW's longtime friend Lzzy Hale (HALESTORM) handled lead vocals for the band's four concerts in late May and early June.
In late March 2022, SKID ROW released its first single with Grönwall, "The Gang's All Here". The song was the title track of the band's latest album, which arrived in October 2022 via earMUSIC.
SKID ROW played its first show with Grönwall on March 26, 2022 at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as the support act on the rescheduled dates for SCORPIONS' "Sin City Nights" residency.

"The Future Past" tour, which includes songs from both IRON MAIDEN's most recent studio album "Senjutsu" as well as 1986’s seminal album "Somewhere In Time", alongside other fan favorites, played to over 750,000 fans at more than 30 sold-out shows across Europe in the summer of 2023. The band also performed in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver alongside their highly praised appearance at California's Power Trip festival in October 2023 which had Consequence stating: "IRON MAIDEN set the bar high at Power Trip" and The Desert Sun saying "IRON MAIDEN didn't disappoint and delivered a hard-hitting performance to open the festival on a high note." Featuring one of the most spectacular stage productions of the band's career, it has received rave reviews in every city and country that IRON MAIDEN visited.
In a recent interview with Australia's "Everblack" podcast, Steve Harris was asked if there is any new music from IRON MAIDEN on the way. The MAIDEN bassist responded: "No, not at the moment. There's nothing in the works at the moment. But that's not to say there won't be. Bruce [Dickinson, IRON MAIDEN singer] has only just done his solo tour. So he spent quite a long time just doing that. So, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we'll find time to cram [a new album] in somewhere. You never know."
MAIDEN's latest album, "Senjutsu", was released in September 2021 via BMG. The band's first LP in six years was recorded in 2019 in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Harris. It features three tracks whose running time exceeds 10 minutes each.
For "Senjutsu" — loosely translated as "tactics and strategy" — the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai-themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Harris.
In the U.S., "Senjutsu" bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, charting higher than even the band's early classics like "Powerslave" and "The Number Of The Beast". Nearly 90 percent of the LP's 64,000 equivalent album units earned came from pure album sales. The critically acclaimed double album debuted one place higher than 2015's "The Book Of Souls" and 2010's "The Final Frontier", which both peaked at No. 4.
"Senjutsu" was MAIDEN's 13th album to top in the Top 40 in the U.S.
According to Billboard, "Senjutsu" logged the second-largest week of 2021 for a hard rock album in both equivalent album units earned and in traditional album sales.
"Senjutsu" topped the charts in several European countries upon its release, including in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland.
Last month, IRON MAIDEN announced the "Run For Your Lives" world tour, which will launch on May 27, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, followed by 27 stadium, festival and arena shows around Europe. The tour marks 50 years since Steve Harris formed the band in late 1975 and, to celebrate this, MAIDEN fans are promised a very special setlist, spanning the nine studio albums from "Iron Maiden" to "Fear Of The Dark", with their most spectacular and elaborate show ever. The tour includes five shows in the U.K. and Ireland, with arenas in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow, and outdoor shows in Dublin and London. So it is with immense pride that IRON MAIDEN will celebrate their 50th anniversary with one of the most notable concerts in their history.
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, MAIDEN will perform at the London Stadium, home of West Ham Football Club — the team that band founder Steve Harris has supported throughout his life, and with whom IRON MAIDEN have a long and storied history. This concert in front of over 60,000 fans at the London Stadium, which was constructed in Stratford for the 2012 Olympics and four years later became the new home of West Ham, will be the first time that IRON MAIDEN have performed on the club's hallowed turf. A true homecoming show — with Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Nicko McBrain all born in the surrounding area — it will also be the biggest U.K. venue the band have ever headlined outside of their festival appearances.
Having been established in 1975 in the East End of London, IRON MAIDEN have, over the course of 17 studio albums, more than 110 million records sold and some of the greatest world tours that music has ever witnessed, become one of the greatest and most influential British rock bands of all time. Yet despite their enormous success, they have remained down to earth and true to their roots throughout their career.
The final leg of "The Future Past" tour started in September in Australia and New Zealand and continued through Japan before hitting Canada, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina and concluding in Sao Paulo, Brazil with two concerts at the huge Allianz Parque Stadium in December.
