BACK frontman Chad Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake recently performed "Rockstar" in socially distanced fashion for a live video which has now been uploaded to the band's YouTube channel. You can check it out below.

As previously reported, NICKELBACK drummer Daniel Adair is recovering from recent surgery for radial tunnel syndrome, a condition in which the radial nerve is pinched when passing through a tunnel near the elbow.

Adair revealed the news about the surgery on May 8, writing: "Over the past several years I have been experiencing increased difficulty with control in my right hand on the drums. After seeing many teachers/specialists and physicians, one of them finally diagnosed the cause."

He added: "Luckily I got minor surgery right before the Covid outbreak happened. They just cut some muscle away and let the nerve breath again. I've healed fine and am basically learning how to use my right hand! It's very exciting though, it's amazing what one nerve can change. So, personally it's a great time for me to be in isolation and get my chops together."

Peake said in April that a documentary on NICKELBACK — which has been in the works for at least a couple of years — is "very close to being released."

Before the pandemic hit, NICKELBACK was supposed to hit the road this summer to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the "All The Right Reasons" album. The tour has since been canceled.

.E. will release its twelfth studio album, "Class Of 2020", on August 21 via Suburban Noize Records. The date also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the group's breakthrough LP, "Broke".

On "Class Of 2020", (HED) P.E. gets back to the raw essentials, utilizing old-school punk-rock guitar tones and aggressive, unfiltered vocal stylings at the core of their trademark sound. Longtime fans will find that "Class Of 2020" is a return to the classic sound of early (HED) P.E. albums.

"We were on the road in the middle of a tour when the COVID-19 pandemic hit full force," comments frontman Jared Gomes. "Like everyone else on the planet, we were faced with some unprecedented challenges. As a small business owner of an independent band, I was faced with an additional set of challenges with the tour being canceled and making it back home from Rhode Island to Idaho. When I got home, I immediately got inspired creatively and hit the studio to smash out this record. For this one, we took it all back to our roots with a back-to-basics approach to try and capture that true G-Punk sound of our earlier albums."

In an effort to bring "Class Of 2020" around full circle and connect it with (HED) P.E.'s impressive back catalog, the album cover is an homage to the group's breakthrough album "Broke", which celebrates its 20th anniversary a day after the new studio album is released. While planning to the milestone anniversary for (HED) P.E., Jared was able to connect with former members DJ Product and original guitarist Chad "Chizad" Benekos and rekindle their creative flame. DJ Product created artwork for the "Class Of 2020" album and added his trademark scratching over some tracks, while original (HED) P.E. guitarist Chizad blessed the band with a blazing solo on "Greedy Girl". The unholy union that many fans never thought possible came together to connect the past and present incarnations of (HED) P.E. and to enhance "Class Of 2020" in a meaningful way.

When discussing the album, Gomes talks about the moniker "Class Of 2020" having dual meaning for him and the band. "I had the title 'Class Of 2020' as a working title for some time now," he explains. "We had made hoodies with the 'Class Of 2020' on them, but it was originally intended to be a statement about the band being here 20 years later. A whole new class of (HED) P.E., so to speak. Once the pandemic broke out, this title took on a new profound meaning. The Class Of 2020 never really graduated. The Class Of 2020 will go down in history for several different reasons."

(HED) P.E. is the pioneer of the G-Punk sound, which fuses together punk-rock, metal, hip-hop and reggae. The band has toured the world for 20 years sharing the stage with the likes of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, KORN, TECH N9NE, TOOL as well as the original BLACK SABBATH on the iconic Ozzfest tour. (HED) P.E. experienced a creative resurgence after signing with Suburban Noize Records in the early 2000s and was instrumental in developing the booming underground scene.

rontman Kalen Chase has released the official music video for his new solo single, "Good Things", featuring Brian Viglione of THE DRESDEN DOLLS on drums. Check it out below.

"The inspiration for 'Good Things' was just one of those magic moments where I was in a bad mood, and my wife said something like, 'Y'know, there's good things happening,' and I said 'Well, they're not happening now,' and walked away," Kalen told American Songwriter. "That's where the line of 'good things are happening somewhere, but not happening here today' came from, then I did my usual thing of writing filler."

Chase is a rare breed. Born in Southern California and growing up in Washington state until his dream of becoming a lumberjack were dashed to the ground, this singer, songwriter, guitar-player, and producer has toured the world with several major performing acts.

In 2006, Kalen joined KORN on tour, primarily on backing vocals, and can be heard and seen in the "MTV Unplugged (Live)" release in 2007 where he was featured playing an exotic array of instruments. He remained with KORN — often seen as The White Rabbit — until 2008.

While working with KORN, Kalen fronted the band THE CHANGING, where he collaborated again with Jonathan Davis on single "Jerry Bruckheimer". His career in metal would continue as the lead vocalist for the band SUPERFIX, before joining forces with Joey Jordison (formerly of SLIPKNOT) as the lead vocalist for VIMIC in 2016.

Now, Kalen has embarked on a new path, building upon his singer-songwriter roots, hard rock persona, and production experience to create a sound of his own.

Chase originals "While You Hide, Dear God" and "All In All" can be found on collaboration project "Sad Atoms Presents Hifi Americana", released in March 2020. "When The Sun Comes Up", an impromptu acoustic single also released in March 2020, was written to inspire a little hope in the madness as quarantine began to set in.

The small businesses in Virginia today received a major endorsement for their hand sanitizer project from progressive rock and roll legend Ian Anderson, founding member of the band JETHRO TULL, for their efforts producing a "made in America" hand sanitizer.

The Virginia Hand Sanitizer consortium coordinated by the Center For Applied Innovation, LLC (CAI) in Yorktown, Virginia has been coordinating formulation and sales of 80% World Health Organization hand sanitizer to government agencies as well as donating thousands of gallons to first responders, healthcare workers, local charities and other during and following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The group continues to work diligently with a Virginia Service Disabled Veteran-Owned CAI and the non-profit Partners International Foundation's Helping The Heroes project in a consortium to help produce and distribute volume production of sanitizers to regional health and emergency workers by leveraging Virginia distilleries, breweries, beer distributors, cider makers, and wineries to support this effort. The consortium provides a seamless, centrally managed, and decentralized operation to meet hand sanitizer needs while helping put people in Virginia back to work and keep them working in these sectors. To date, the group has delivered hundreds of thousands of bottles purchased by State and local agencies as well as donated thousands of bottles of hand sanitizer to a myriad to a growing number of local and regional charities.

Ian Anderson is lending his support to the effort by making it the "only officially sanctioned JETHRO TULL sanitizer hand rub." JETHRO TULL hand sanitizer is sold exclusively through the "Helping The Heroes" web site, with the proceeds helping small businesses remain open and funding the groups’ donation programs.

The Crew Nation fund was launched in April to help support touring and venue crews through this temporary intermission while COVID-19 puts concerts on pause. LAMB OF GOD's self-titled album was released on June 19 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to 2015's "VII: Sturm Und Drang" marks the band's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined LOG last year as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.

"Lamb Of God" was recorded with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM) and includes special guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT).

BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin recently resumed work on his long-awaited new solo album. Among the guest musicians set to appear on the LP are Danny "Danté" Needham (VENOM), Magnus Rosén (ex-HAMMERFALL), Scott McClellan and Greg Smith.

Earlier today, Martin posted the following update on social media: "One more guest appearance confirmation on my new up coming solo album ... My youngest son Joe :) joins all the other cool people that i have the pleasure and honour of having on this release. :) .... AND ... 2 record contracts signed for the release .... !!!... One for Australia Asia and Europe.... and one for the America's ..... details coming.... watch this space"

Martin's last solo album, "Scream", was released in November 2005 via MTM Music.

BLACK SABBATH released six albums with Martin on vocals: "The Eternal Idol" (1987), "Headless Cross" (1989), "Tyr" (1990), "Cross Purposes" (1994), "Cross Purposes Live" (1995) and "Forbidden" (1995). Eventually, Martin and his "Forbidden"-era bandmates were ousted when guitarist Tony Iommi reunited with SABBATH's fellow original members.

In a 2012 interview with Über Röck, Martin said that he was "surprised" to see Iommi criticizing him in the guitarist's "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath" book (referring to the Martin period, especially the touring phase following the release of "Cross Purposes" in 1994, Iommi lambasted his former singer as "unprofessional" and having "no stage presence"). Martin said: "I mean, they never said anything to me. Surely, if you've got a problem, the first person you should say something to is the person that's in the band with you... It sounds like a really stupid thing to say, as they didn't say anything to my face — and, if that's the case, then more fool them for not saying anything, because, you know, we could have fixed it. I said to them, endlessly, that if there was anything they wanted changed, done differently, just to say and we could fix it, but clearly, they didn't, they hadn't got the guts to, obviously, and to write about it in a book afterwards seems a bit daft to me. I'm not bitter about it, but it is surprising... It seems a bit stupid to say that after the event."

Four years ago, Iommi told I Heart Guitar that "it's a shame" that "it took a lot for people to accept" Martin as SABBATH's vocalist. "It's taken all these years later for people to say, 'Oh blimey, that was a good band with good singing.' So it took a long time to get people to really realize how good it was."

In 2018, Iommi spent time in the studio remixing "Forbidden" for a future release. The LP, which features Martin, drummer Cozy Powell and bassist Neil Murray, is often regarded as SABBATH's worst studio recording.

SEPULTURA and current SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera has launched "Max Trax", a twice-weekly Internet video series in which he discusses the inspiration for many of the songs spanning his nearly 40-year music career.

The fourth, fifth and sixth "Max Trax" episodes, focusing on KILLER BE KILLED's "Face Down", SEPULTURA's "Inner Self" and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's "Sanctuary", can be seen below.

Cavalera, who is also involved with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and KILLER BE KILLED, broke the news of his online project in a video message posted to SOULFLY social media on June 23.

He said: "I'm announcing the launch of 'Max Trax'. It's a very raw way that I'm gonna go through all the songs I recorded all my life — all the riffs; 'riff vortex.' So I'm gonna explain how the riff was created, I'm gonna explain where the idea came for the riff, I'm gonna talk about the lyrics. I'm gonna dissect in a very raw way — nothing high technology, none of that bullshit. It's gonna be all done here [at home], with my equipment that I always record with; a drum machine. I'm gonna tell you what the inspiration for the songs come from, all the way back from 'Funeral Rites', 'Morbid Visions', going through everything — 'Refuse/Resist', 'Propaganda', fucking 'Roots Bloody Roots', 'Eye For An Eye', 'Jump Da Fuck Up'. All of them have amazing, cool stories. You guys are gonna love it. I promise you it's gonna be so fucking fun and cool and exciting. And I'll play along, if you wanna learn how to play those songs too."

He continued: "So I'm gonna be doing this every Tuesday and every Saturday — it's gonna be a different song every Tuesday and every Saturday — around two o'clock, more or less, West Coast time. The first one I'm doing is 'Eye For An Eye' with the original lyrics that you guys don't know; I had different lyrics for it. It's gonna be really, really fun; it's gonna be really cool. I can't wait to share this with you. So watch out for 'Max Trax' coming at you. We're gonna enjoy. The shit's gonna be fucking awesome. Fuck shit up! Max Cavalera. Stay metal."

Last month, SOULFLY released a new digital EP, "Live Ritual NYC MMXIX". The effort was recorded at The Gramercy in New York City on February 11, 2019 while SOULFLY was on tour in support of its most recent full-length album, "Ritual". The audio for the EP was mixed and mastered by Charles Elliott (ABYSMAL DAWN) from Tastemaker Audio. Cover artwork was comprised of live photos taken by Rodrigo Fredes.

"Ritual" was released in October 2018 via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2015's "Archangel" was produced, recorded and mixed by Josh Wilbur (KILLER BE KILLED, LAMB OF GOD, GOJIRA). Cover artwork was painted by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM). heavy rockers LACUNA COIL recently launched a new Internet video series called "On Tour With Lacuna Coil". Each clip will contain behind-the-scenes footage from the band's 2019 "Black Anima" European tour.

The third "On Tour With Lacuna Coil" episode, focusing on the band's concert in Bologna, Italy, can be seen below.

Says LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia: "As we're still not allowed to travel the world and get on stage and sing with you every night, follow us on a journey through the 2019 Black Anima European Tour, only on our YouTube channel. Every Wednesday at 15.00 CEST a new episode of the #OnTourWithLacunaCoil series will go live."

This past March, Scabbia told Kerrang! magazine that we are in the middle of "very dark time" as many musicians are contending with unexpected hardship due to most tours being postponed or canceled in the wake of the global spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

The closure of live venues, as well as other social distancing measures, has caused hundreds of millions of dollars in ticket-sales losses and has dried up the primary source of income for the vast majority of working musicians.

Scabbia said: "Yes, it's a very dark time for music and arts. It is frustrating and it's sad, but we're all in the same boat. It is madness because you have to consider that the livelihood of a band now is mostly on the road. That's where you get the majority of your income, which you need to survive and keep on working.

"We were able to think ahead and cancel flights and tours, because we projected the situation," she continued, referring to the cancelation of LACUNA COIL's shows in Australia and Southeast Asia. "We thought ahead and thought about our health and the health of our friends.

"I know other bands that have lost a huge amount of money and it will be hard to get back on track because it will not get back to normal all at once. Fans might not have a lot of money because they didn't work. It will be really hard but I'm staying positive because once you touch the bottom, you can only go up."

Over 25 years as a band has done little to quell DARK FUNERAL guitarist and founding member Lord Ahriman's desire to create some of the most extreme black metal possible. Known for its unrelenting style of black metal that is largely predicated on blast beats and warp-speed tremolo picking, DARK FUNERAL has established itself as one of the most enduring black metal bands to emerge from Sweden alongside MARDUK. Now beyond the 25-year mark, Ahriman says DARK FUNERAL is even less interested in past accomplishments.

"For me, I always try to just push forward," he told Infernal TV 's Stephanie Jensen (video below). "I never look back. I'm just looking straight ahead. I guess as long as I'm not super-satisfied with where we are, I'm just going to keep on pushing and trying to do things bigger, better, more epic, more evil. No, we're just going to continue. I'll try to do things better."

The band's most recent studio album, "Where Shadows Forever Reign", was released in 2016. A heavy touring workload has prevented Ahriman and the band from writing and recording its follow-up, but it appears that will be DARK FUNERAL's focus for 2020.

"I've started writing a little bit," he said. "But our plan was to actually write now, but then this tour came up and a lot of other tours, and I've been busy with all the pre-production and planning. The time I had planned for writing just disappeared into boring office business. But next year we're going to take it down with the touring and focus on a new record. But I have some pretty cool ideas already."

DARK FUNERAL is currently participating in the "Devastation On The Nation" North American tour with BELPHEGOR, INCANTATION, HATE, VALE OF PNATH and NIGHTMARER.

Progressive metal outfit Wilderun from Boston, Massachusetts, has re-released their album Veil Of Imagination the first time worldwide via Century Media Records. In order to celebrate the release, they have published a visualizer video for the song “O Resolution!”

"Torch The Faith", the eagerly anticipated debut album from Las Vegas rock quartet PSYCHOSEXUAL, is now available for pre-order at the iTunes store for only $4.99. The 12-song set, set for a July 31 release date through former FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH drummer Jeremy Spencer's independent imprint 6ex Records, is a darkly compelling collection of powerful songs that reflect his songwriting aesthetic.

Epic melodic death metallers Nothgard have just released a brand new digital single, “Lightcrawler”. The single was recorded and mixed by Nothgard's very own Dom R. Crey (vocals/guitar) at his Splendid Wave Studios in Germany. The finishing touch was given by the fantastic Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles / USA. The stunning cover artwork was created by Michal Loranc.

To underline the message of the single, the band shot a dark, atmospheric music video (directed by Dream Film Factory) with high quality special effects.

Enterprise Earth has unveiled a stunning quarantine style playthrough video of their acoustic interpretation of "There Is No Tomorrow" which appears on the band's Foundation Of Bones EP, out now on Entertainment One (eOne). 

Featuring one new song (the title track), two cover tunes - Necrophagist's "Fermented Offal Discharge" and Lamb Of God's "Now You've Got Something To Die For" - the aforementioned acoustic version of "There Is No Tomorrow" from their Luciferous LP, and an instrumental edition of the new track, the surprise EP serves as a bridge piece from Luciferous into the work being laid down for their forthcoming LP. Foundation Of Bones also marks the band's first ever self-produced output.

Comments Enterprise Earth guitarist Gabriel Mangold of "There Is No Tomorrow," "Doing the acoustic rendition of this song was a last-minute addition to the EP and, boy, are we glad we went for it as recording it was somewhat of a cathartic and eye-opening experience. It was inspired by bands that have done incredible acoustic renditions of their heavy tunes, namely Alice In Chains, The Contortionist, and I See Stars. Our sonic inspirations and musical expressions go much deeper than just being brutal and we wanted to express that sentiment and develop another facet of our sound. We love melody, peaks, and valleys within a song, acoustic jams that take you on a journey, and most importantly, we love writing music that resonates strongly within us. A video soundtracked by LINKIN PARK's "In The End" that President Donald Trump posted to his Twitter on Saturday (July 18) was removed from the social media platform due to a claim by the copyright owner.

The two-minute, fan-made clip revolved around quotes from Trump's 2017 inaugural address, including his vow to start "transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people." The video painted presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as a member of the Washington elite.

Within hours, Twitter pulled the video from Trump's feed and replaced it with a message that reads, "This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner."

Back in January 2017, LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington famously called Trump "a greater threat to the USA than terrorism."

AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler, Neil Young and R.E.M. have all publicly slammed Trump for using their music at his events.

Just last month, THE ROLLING STONES threatened legal action against Trump if he continues to use the band's music at his campaign rallies.

Three years ago, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider, who got to know Trump personally after appearing more than once on "The Celebrity Apprentice", said that he could no longer be friends with the president because he did not share his views on important issues, including the Trump administration's harsh immigration policy.

Snider found himself in the middle of controversy in 2016 when he asked Trump to stop using the 1984 TWISTED SISTER anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It" in his campaign. The singer said at the time that Trump was very gracious about the request.

ED, the band featuring SEVENDUST members John Connolly (guitar) and Vince Hornsby (bass) alongside ALTER BRIDGE/CREED drummer Scott Phillips and guitarist/vocalist Eric Friedman (a.k.a. E-Rock; TREMONTI), has finished recording its third album. The follow-up to 2017's "Ignite My Insanity" was tracked at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with SEVENDUST, ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others. A late 2020 release via Rat Pak Records is expected.

Connolly offered an update on the new PROJECTED record in an Instagram post on Friday (July 17). He wrote: "And thats a wrap!! Spent quite a bit of time in this booth, writing and tracking vocals and now, "the hay is in the barn"....... Another PROJECTED record is tracked! Time to mix. Can't thank @elvisliberace @1f_jef @joshuasaldate @thevinniehornsby @flip_drums @ericcfriedman @timothysonoftimothy and @chuckbrueckmann for all the hard work getting this thing recorded. Its been an awesome experience and couldn't have done it without such an amazing team. I'm grateful for all you guys have done and look forward to hearing it all together in the very near future. "Ignite My Insanity" was a two-disc collection featuring 21 tracks. ALTER BRIDGE/TREMONTI songwriter Mark Tremonti co-wrote "Rectify" and "Call Me The Devil" and SEVENDUST's Morgan Rose co-wrote "Concede" with PROJECTED.

In a 2017 interview with Shockwave Magazine, Connolly stated about PROJECTED: "With PROJECTED, its something that has given me a ton of opportunity, whereas in SEVENDUST, we all know our parts. If I'm having a bad day in SEVENDUST, I need to remember that I'm only 20% of the puzzle and when the other guys are on, they can pick me up. The freedom and creativity is endless with PROJECTED, and it has certainly brought me to somewhere where I'm not used to, but it's so much fun, and these guys are so easy to work with."

Asked if he has had any formal training as a lead vocalist, Connolly said: "Honestly, no. My training is basically the 20 years with SEVENDUST, and everything I do is the wrong way. Other vocalists probably cringe when they hear the way I do it. I do hope that one day I can take some time and have someone give me direction and training, though. It's funny, I can wake up and sing a half a song one day, not feel it, then the next day a song. Then some days, I'm on, I just keep going and blow my voice out. My friends will ask, 'John, are you all right?', and I'm fine, but I'm just pushing it to the limit. Then I'll have to stop for a few days and then everything is all right again."

is Cornell's estate has released his previously unreleased cover of GUNS N' ROSES' "Patience" on what would have been his 56th birthday. The recording was produced by Brendan O'Brien and was reportedly completed only a few months before Chris died in 2017.

"His birthday seemed the perfect time to share this and celebrate Chris, his voice, music, stories and art," reads a statement on Cornell's Facebook page.

"It is true a man is not dead while his name is still spoken… and, through his art, an artist's soul still burns just as bright as ever upon all those that look up to him and his memory.

"Releasing music that was special to Chris keeps a part of him here with us — his heart and his soul. His love and his legacy."

"Patience" originally appeared on GUNS N' ROSES second album, 1988's "GN'R Lies".

SOUNDGARDEN supported GUNS N' ROSES on the "Use Your Illusion" tour nearly 30 years ago. At the time, Axl Rose hailed Cornell as the best rock vocalist.

In the months following Cornell's passing in 2017, GUNS N' ROSES regularly covered SOUNDGARDEN's "Black Hole Sun".

Cornell was reportedly working on a covers album with O'Brien prior to his death.

In a 2012 interview with Vulture, Cornell stated about touring with GUNS N' ROSES: "Without saying anything negative about Axl, what I remember the most was Duff [McKagan] and Slash and everyone else being regular, sweet, warm guys in a rock band that just wanted to play rock music. And then, like, there was this 'Wizard Of Oz' character behind the curtain that seemed to complicate what was the most ideal situation they could ever have been in: They were the most successful and famous rock band on the planet. Every single show, hundreds of thousands of fans just wanted to hear songs. For some reason, there seemed to be this obstacle in just going out and participating in that. That is what I remember the most. It's sad."

Chris Cornell was found hanged in his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel in May 2017, following a SOUNDGARDEN show at the city's Fox Theatre. His body was found soon after he had spoken with a "slurred" voice to his wife, Vicky Cornell, by phone. The death was ruled a suicide.

But his family has questioned the medical examiner's ruling, saying that he had a prescription for Ativan and that a higher than recommended dosage may have caused him to experience suicidal thoughts.

says that "anything is possible" with regard to a possible reunion of CREED.

A little over a month ago, CREED updated its Facebook profile with an old photo, igniting rumors of the band's imminent return.

Stapp, who is promoting his latest solo album, "The Space Between The Shadows", discussed the chances of a CREED comeback during a new interview with "Whiplash", the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie.

Asked if fans can expect any activity from CREED, eight years after the band completed a tour in support of its fourth album, 2009's "Full Circle", the singer said (hear audio below): "For the longest time, there's been nothing but positivity and support for each other with the guys and myself. And so anything is possible. If that time comes, I guarantee you, and you can be sure, that we will let the whole world know. Okay? But for now, though, I'm just looking forward to when it's possible to get back on stage. And hopefully that's in October for my European [solo] tour, which has still not been postponed or canceled. I'm excited to go to Europe and play these new songs off 'The Space Between The Shadows'. So I'm just praying and hoping for the best, and I can't wait to get back out there and get on tour."

CREED disbanded in 2004 but reunited five years later for the aforementioned "Full Circle" LP and an extensive tour. The band had begun working in 2012 on a follow-up album, but the project was abandoned. Stapp has since toured and recorded as a solo artist, although he suffered a drug-related mental breakdown in 2014 and spent several years recovering from that.

Back in 2019, guitarist Mark Tremonti said in an interview on Jamey Jasta's podcast that he was sitting on an album's worth of material for CREED. Asked whether CREED could reunite again, Tremonti said, "People say, 'Is it done? Is it over? Is there new music coming out?' I'm sitting on an entire CREED album... When we were together doing the reunion tour, we put a lot of music together and I have like really sketchy little demos of probably 13 songs. I listened to them maybe a year ago and they're good songs."

Tremonti added: "It's just, there's no time. Is it good enough for me to put everything on the back burner that I've been working on for the past 14 years? No. Is it good enough to maybe 10 years from now or seven years from now... or some big resurgence happens or there's an anniversary where everybody's like, 'We want to see CREED and the world demands it like they used to.' I wouldn't say no."

Tremonti, who also leads his own self-named band and plays in ALTER BRIDGE with the other instrumental members of CREED, told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he doesn't see CREED working again anytime soon. "I'm just so full of commitments between TREMONTI and ALTER BRIDGE, and juggling these two bands writing-wise and just touring-wise, it's like almost impossible to do all three, and I'm very satisfied with what I'm doing now," he said.

NAKE frontman David Coverdale spoke to Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station about how he is dealing with the coronavirus crisis and what the touring circuit might look like post-pandemic.

"I was hoping to be able to do my farewell tour, my gratitude tour at 69," the 68-year-old said. "What better age for the singer of WHITESNAKE to retire than 69? I'm already designing the t-shirts.

"As long as we have covidiots refusing to wear a mask for political reasons or freedom of expression, we're never gonna get out there.

"The only time I've seen real community in this country that's adopted me, this beautiful United States Of America, was after tragedy," the British-born rocker continued. "9/11, everybody was just nice to each other and supportive, and you really genuinely felt a sense of community. And for whatever reason, politically [or] whatever, the sense of community is being driven apart, and we have to put this jigsaw back together. Otherwise, we will fail as a species. This is an evil, evil virus that's doing the rounds.

"The very sad thing is the dialogue has been compromised for decades now politically and created such division. It's so unfair. This is not politics; this is health. And once we develop a community in this amazing country and become the beacon of democracy it's supposed to be to shine its light on the rest of the world, then we can start working on global community, global solidarity. This isn't just hitting Americans; this has hit everybody — even indigenous tribes in the Amazon, for God's sake. It's not political; it's health, darling."

"We have to find humor in it," he added. "I swear to God, there's lunatics on either side of the pond calling the shots. I don't think they can kick a ball straight, which is never good in my book.

"Making this incredible pandemic a political issue is the most ridiculous thing I can imagine. We're never gonna get out. I'm never gonna be able to do my fucking farewell tour. [Laughs]

"C'mon, wear a fucking mask, so we can go out again."

Back in late March, it was announced that all of WHITESNAKE's previously announced touring activities, including this summer's U.S. trek with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE and NIGHT RANGER, were being canceled so that Coverdale could undergo surgery for bilateral inguinal hernia.

Coverdale had both his knees replaced with titanium in 2017 after suffering from degenerative arthritis. He later explained that he was in so much pain with arthritis in his knees that it hampered his ability to perform live.

WHITESNAKE had been touring in support of its latest album, "Flesh & Blood", which was released in May 2019 via Frontiers Music Srl.

WHITESNAKE has just launched the "Red, White And Blues" trilogy, a series of fresh, new collections organized by musical themes that will include "Love Songs" (red), "The Rock Album" (white) and "The Blues Album" (blue).

"The Rock Album" was made available on June 19 on CD ($14.98), and as a double-LP set pressed on 180-gram, white vinyl ($31.98). The music is also available through digital and streaming services. The collection features the debut of "Always The Same", a previously unreleased song that was recorded during the 2019 sessions for "Flesh & Blood".

During a conversation with Ultimate Guitar's David Slavković, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider talked about the '80s, recalling his first reaction to seeing Metallica when they opened for his band, the PMRC legal battle, metal fans, and more. Following is an excerpt from the latest installment of this in-depth interview.

Snider on his initial reaction to heavier bands such as Metallica and Slayer

"We toured with Metallica in '84, and this is pretty funny, actually. I remember one on the shows, we went on first - they were opening for us - but in Holland at this one show, they closed. So I got to watch them and stand on stage. And I watched them, and I remember turning to my bass player Mark Mendoza and saying, 'You know, this band has a lot of heart but they're not going anywhere...' (laughs). I thought they were great, I just thought they were too heavy to be hugely successful. But I'm really glad - I'm a metalhead, I love really heavy music. And through the '90s and '00s, thankfully, my children are all metalheads."

And I continued to go to concerts, hear the music, and they kept me in touch with what was happening. So I appreciated it through the times - I understood what was going on, but to many old fans, it's a shock. To me, I've been listening to it all along. I've had a metal radio show. So, I really appreciate and respect the changes. I don't love it all, but I appreciate it, and the love of metal continues. And it reflects on my new music and my new band - it's much more contemporary sounding - because I love contemporary metal."

Snider has revealed a new live video cut from For The Love Of Metal Live - featuring his energetic performance of "I Am The Hurricane". The seductive, metallic first notes of the track combine with ominous guitar-driven atmosphere as Dee Snider dominates the powerful lyrics of the track - denying opposition at his every turn and leaving doubters in his wake. The track takes on a whole new level of confidence in its live setting, as it transforms into an even more heartfelt rallying cry to all to rise above hostility.

Dee says about “I Am The Hurricane” Live: "If there is ever a repeated message in my songs it's this: Stand up, fight back, don't take any sh*t from anybody, and f*ck anybody who gets in your way or tries to put you down. It's a message that constantly needs to be reinforced in us all, myself included. 'I Am the Hurricane' is that reinforcement!"

Axl Rose has defended his right to speak out on political issues, saying that he feels an "obligation to say something" about the "irresponsibility of this administration."

The GUNS N' ROSES singer, who has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with U.S. President Donald Trump, explained his position in a message on TwitLonger, a related Twitter site where one can post messages longer than 280 characters.

He wrote: "My disdain 4 r current administration n' what I perceive as it's threat to r democracy is no secret.

"I'm not all that active w/social media n' tho I more than appreciate anyone who takes an interest in something I might post I don't really have an interest in how many followers or retweets etc. I have as my political or social issue posts rn't about me. They're about the issues. In general my posts in regard to current events, politics or social issues r usually coming from a sense of outrage, obligation n' responsibility to say something at times when I feel not to is being complicit (as opposed to a desire for attention or self promotion.)

"I'm nobody, just a citizen that like everyone else has my own opinions n' believes in my heart that ultimately I want what's best for not just r country but for humanity, wildlife n' r environment n' other's as opposed to right, left or any other wing fascism r at least in this country free to disagree. So 4 me when I feel someone in this administration for example or perhaps media, in entertainment or the public says or does something that in my view supports or caters to the irresponsibility of this administration or various issues w/government or law enforcement I may voice an opinion. Perhaps a strong or perhaps considered by some a lewd or immature response or opinion. It happens."

Rose has taken to Twitter a number of times in the past couple of years to slam President Donald Trump, his administration and his policies.

On Friday (July 3), Axl called on Jerome Adams to resign after the United States surgeon general refused to give a yes or no answer when asked if he would advise people to attend large gatherings over the 4th of July weekend.

This past May, Axl took a shot at U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, calling him "an asshole." Rose also recently criticized a decision by the sheriff of Orange County, California to not enforce beach closures that were mandated by the state's governor.

Back in November 2016, Rose took to Twitter to condemn then-President-elect Donald Trump's choice for U.S. attorney general, and to berate Trump for demanding an apology from the cast of the Broadway show "Hamilton" after then-Vice President-elect Mike Pence was booed when he attended the musical. One month later, Rose invited fans at a GUNS N' ROSES concert in Mexico City to beat the crap out of a large piñata designed to look like Trump.

In January 2018, Axl blasted the Trump administration as the "gold standard of what can be considered disgraceful."

This past Wednesday (July 8), MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn spoke to Primordial Radio about how he is dealing with the coronavirus crisis and what the touring circuit might look like post-pandemic. He said (see video below): "I've been saying this for months, and people don't really like my opinion of it, but I think this thing's gonna go on for two to probably four years, the pandemic.

"I think when it first hit, we were all a little naïve about what exactly was happening. We rushed into kind of, 'Let's reschedule [our European tour].' And then so much changed — it's like the world flipped on its head in four weeks. Everything that you kind of knew was, like, 'Woah!' Every single venue we were gonna play is now permanently closed, at least for the foreseeable future. And yeah, this tour ain't gonna happen.

"Look, nothing would make me happier than doing it," he continued. "I've been on tour since I was freakin' 18 years old. This is all I know. For it to come to a halt like this sucks. And I really do hope that — fingers crossed — [the novel coronavirus] goes away or we get a cure or something happens. But to me, that type of thinking, for my brain, doesn't work.

"Being in a band has taught me that you have to take the harshest of harsh looks at everything in your life — good and bad — and constantly re-evaluate it and go, 'Is this gonna work? Is this not working? Can we do this? Can we not do this?' And then roll the dice and go, 'Yeah, I think this might work,' and just do it. That's what being in a band is.

"After four weeks of so, kind of seeing where the world is, I was, like, 'Yeah, this is gonna last for years.' And even after it goes away, I think people are gonna be so shellshocked that they're not gonna wanna go out to shows. Venues are talking about reopening — even when they do reopen — at 25 percent capacity. That's 2500 people in a 10,000 seater. That's gonna suck. [Laughs]

"So, how are promoters gonna make money? We've already had promoters ask us to take 50 percent reductions in our guarantee. That's a complete devastating financial loss for us that we can't bear. We can't afford to tour. It costs so much money."

Flynn went on to say that he doesn't think most people realize just how much it costs to tour now. "It's freakin' insane," he said. "Most tours that we do operate at a loss. Almost all the tours that we do operate at a loss. And it's three other peripheral things that all revolve around the tour that kind of make it all work. And in my case, I just love playing. The whole 'Burn My Eyes' [25th-anniversary tour] that we just did, it lost money. I just didn't care. I was fine with losing money, because it was so worth it to celebrate this incredible milestone and this incredible moment with the guys that I wrote the music with, and with Vogg [Polish guitarist Wacław Kiełtyka] and [British drummer] Matt [Alston], the new guys, and it was this crazy three-hour show. It was worth it."

According to Robb, he is in no rush to play shows before it is completely safe to do so.

"I can wait till it fixes itself, whatever that 'fixing itself' is. MACHINE HEAD's worth a lot, and I'm not worried about it. When we come back, it's gonna be when we can have that kind of communal religious experience that is a MACHINE HEAD show. Five thousand people in a five-thousand seater screaming their lungs out, everybody's singing their fucking brains out and circle pitting and jumping and you're drinking — all the crazy stuff that happens. And until that can happen, I can wait.

"People are, like, 'Oh, do you wanna do drive-in shows?' No. [Laughs] No. I can wait. I'll wait," he said. "It will correct itself. It will go back to normal. It will eventually be good again. There's probably gonna be things that are different. I don't know what those things are.

"I've been doing this for 33 years, bro. I've seen so many freakin' changes come across the land — things become hot and phenomenons happen and phenomenons disappear. And we just keep on putting one foot in front of the other, and it eventually works out."

On June 17, MACHINE HEAD released "Civil Unrest", a two-song digital single featuring A-side "Stop The Bleeding" and B-side "Bulletproof". This pair of fierce protest anthems were both written days after the back-to-back murders of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery. "Stop The Bleeding" features a guest appearance from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Jesse Leach, with Flynn and Leach trading lyrical lines that spit anger and frustration at current events.

MACHINE HEAD is donating a significant portion of the streaming proceeds from "Stop The Bleeding" to Grassroots Law Project, the organization representing George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery.

In a recent interview with The Hundreds TV, LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe spoke about the ongoing efforts to remove Confederate statues along Monument Avenue in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

The debate regarding Confederate monuments has been polarizing in Richmond and other cities across the country for many years. The Richmond region and communities across the nation are confronting the crisis of racism which has afflicted our country for generations.

"I think it's important to recognize when and why these monuments were put up, because there's this false narrative that at the end of the Civil War, the Confederacy put up all these monuments," Randy said. "Most of these monuments, they were erected during the Jim Crow era, when the segregationist laws were put into effect. And they were put there to cement the position of white people in our society, particularly in the South.

"I find it very interesting, for me, the biggest monument is Robert E. Lee on Monument Avenue, that Robert E. Lee himself was very against erecting such monuments; on several different occasions, he spoke against it," Blythe continued. "He was, like, 'I think we should try to endeavor to remove these reminders of civil strife so people can heal.' But with Jim Crow and the need to — now that slaves are illegal — the need to keep black people in a subservient position, both physically and economically, they erect these big monuments.

"The monuments are maintained. Tax dollars pay for lighting them. They pay for the upkeep. They pay for the police right now that are protecting them. That's people's tax dollars.

"Richmond is a majority — it's not a huge majority — but a majority African-American community," he added. "To a lot of these people in the African-American community, when they see these monuments of these Confederate generals, it's just a reminder of going back all the way to why the African-American community is here in the first place, which is slavery. Richmond had the second-largest slave market in the United States; the first was in New Orleans."

Randy also touched upon the recent protests in cities across America following the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, at the hands of Minneapolis police. He said: "The stuff that's happening right now, it's not just about one man in Minnesota getting choked to death — this is a built-up thing, and it has been building. In Richmond, particularly the younger population, they've had enough of this. We've talked about putting the statues in context or maybe adding signs or all this other stuff. I think particularly the youth today are just, like, 'No. This is a slap in the face.'

"I believe — it's my personal belief — that the statues should be preserved. Not where they are, in this glorified postion on Monument [Avenue], and everybody's tax dollars are paying to take care of them. But I think they should be taken — they are supposed to be put in storage. And maybe they can be in a museum exhibit or something, so people can understand this time. And when I say this time, I'm talking about right now; there's graffiti all over these things."

Richmond has been working to remove 11 Confederate statues after Mayor Levar Stoney enacted emergency powers to have them immediately taken off city land.

Dozens of Confederate symbols have been taken down across the country in the weeks since Floyd was killed.

Last month, a GWAR fan launched a campaign to replace the Lee statue with a memorial to the band's late frontman Oderus Urungus.

The Confederate general died in 1870, 20 years before his statue was erected on Monument Avenue.

Launched on June 12, the Change.org petition seeks to have the "racist" landmark replaced with a tribute to the GWAR co-founder and longtime leader, whose real name was Dave Brockie. The petition has garnered more than 68,000 signatures.

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper spoke to Dave Lawrence of Hawaii Public Radio about how today's "Black Lives Matter" protests against police brutality and injustice recall the turbulent 1960s, when people marched for civil rights, women’s rights, and against the American war in Vietnam.

"Well, isn't it amazing that that was 50, 60 years ago, or something like that, and we're still dealing with the same problem?" Alice said (hear audio below). "You would have thought that that solved the problem. But there's always that five percent of people that are racist.

"To be honest with you, I know a lot of cops," he continued. "I don't know one racist cop. But I guarantee you that five percent of the police force in every city have got a racial problem. And those are the guys that get all the headlines, because they do all the stupid things.

"I think we have to look at that like almost in everything," Cooper added. "Five percent of the Muslim population — maybe five percent — back ISIS," referring to the acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, a terrorist group known for its radical beliefs and violence. "The rest of 'em are just like we are. If you put a Muslim family with an American family, they'd have a barbecue and they wouldn't be even talking about politics, but there's always that five percent that will upset the entire world. And I think that's our problem with the police department. You don't have a full police department of racists in there; you have maybe a small percentage, and those are the guys that need to be weeded out. I can't see why we don't spend the money on getting a committee in every city to weed out the bad guys."

This past May, Alice released a new single, "Don't Give Up". Produced by Cooper's longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin using remote technology, the song is a spontaneous reaction to the challenges facing us all right now.

A strictly limited "Don't Give Up" seven-inch vinyl picture disc will be released on August 14 on earMUSIC.

Cooper recently completed work on his new album, "Detroit Stories". The LP, which was once again produced by Ezrin, features contributions by such Michigan talent as the MC5's Wayne Kramer, GRAND FUNK RAILROAD's Mark Farner and Johnny "Bee" Badanjek of MITCH RYDER & THE DETROIT WHEELS. They also used the Detroit Horns and Detroit background singers.

Last September, Cooper released a six-track EP called "Breadcrumbs", described as a tribute to the garage-rock heroes of his hometown of Detroit.
