LACUNA COIL has announced "Black Anima: Live From The Apocalypse", an exclusive streaming show featuring a full performance of "Black Anima" for the very first time, including songs never performed live, plus special backstage/off-camera moments and more.

The band, stationed in its hometown of Milan, Italy since February 2020, is fired up for its first show since the COVID-19 lockdown forced the entire music business, and the world, to stop.

The Italian heavy rockers will play a special streaming show on Friday, September 11 from the Alcatraz Club in Milan in what will certainly be a unique and once-in-a-lifetime event. After the success of the acclaimed 20th-anniversary concert "The 119 Show", the band has once again gone all out to create an outstanding and exclusive spectacle that won't disappoint fans all over the world. The show will be available to view only once, live, via streaming.

According to Billboard, QUEEN's "Greatest Hits" has spent 55 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Catalog Albums chart.

The Catalog Albums chart ranks the most popular catalog albums of the week in the U.S. Catalog albums are generally titles that are at least 18 months old — or holiday albums in their second holiday season.

Only one album has spent more time at No. 1 on Billboard's Catalog Albums chart, BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS' "Legend", which has topped the chart for 126 weeks.

Billboard's Catalog Albums chart was introduced in May 1991.

Earlier in the month, it was announced that the 1981 "Greatest Hits" compilation had become the third LP ever to surpass 900 weeks on the U.K.'s official album chart.

Back in 2014, QUEEN broke U.K. chart records after surpassing the six-million-sales milestone with "Greatest Hits" album. Britain's best-selling album of all time, a staggering one in three British families (or one in four British households) owns a copy of the iconic act's original best-of collection featuring such classic tracks as "We Will Rock You", "Another One Bites The Dust" and their top-selling hit "Bohemian Rhapsody".

A true, enduring classic, the British public continue to buy QUEEN's "Greatest Hits" in their droves; some 39 years after its original release, the album regularly sells several thousand copies per week, particularly around the Christmas gifting period, a trusted stocking filler for British music fans.

QUEEN's follow-up, "Greatest Hits II", which was released in October 1991 — a month before lead singer Freddie Mercury's untimely death — has reportedly sold more around four million copies in the U.K.

In December 2019, former THE GATHERING singer Anneke Van Giersbergen and Kamerata Zuid chamber orchestra played a number of concerts together in North Brabant, a province in the south of the Netherlands where Anneke was born and raised. The setlist offered a variety of Anneke's own songs with a classical twist, two renditions of her favorite collaborations and some classical arias. The concerts also featured a brand new piece called "Let The Light In", written by Anneke and famed Dutch composer Anthony Fiumara. All arrangements were written by Ruud Peeters, with the exception of the title track.

All seven concerts were recorded and artistic director/conductor Frank Adams and Anneke cherry-picked their best performances for the "Let The Light In" album, which will be released on July 31.

The LP was recorded by Jonathan Heywood, mixed by Guido Aalbers at Giesound and mastered by Darius van Helfteren. Hajo Müller designed the album cover.

Let the Light in by Anneke van Giersbergen with Kamerata Zuid

DOKKEN played the second "socially distanced" concert last Saturday night (July 18) at Timberwood Amphitheater at Magic Springs Water And Theme Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The performance featured special guest guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE), who was filling in for DOKKEN's longtime guitarist Jon Levin. Jon had opted to sit out the show due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

DOKKEN frontman Don Dokken explained the guitarist switch in an interview with Greg Prato of Songfacts. He said: "Reb is coming to fill in because Jon can't go on the road right now — he doesn't feel comfortable with the COVID because his father is 90 years old and he's the primary caregiver. He said, 'Man, if I get COVID and give it to my dad, he'll die.' And I said, 'I get it, Jon. I respect you and your father.' So, I got Reb coming in to fill in for these two shows, and I just told Jon, 'Let's hope for the best. Let's hope the COVID thing gets better and they come out with a vaccine. Until then, if you don't feel comfortable getting on a plane, then don't.'"

He continued: "I'm taking a risk doing these shows [in July]. I know that. But what are you going to do? My girlfriend makes me put the gloves on, the mask on, the spray — we constantly spray our hands. I try not to wipe my mouth. I'll go to Home Depot and buy supplies for the house, but mostly I'm just staying home. So, she's not happy about me going on a plane. I have five or six plane flights in two days, so that's pretty high chances.

"My son is a pilot, and I talked to him — he flies for JetBlue. My son flies an A300. He's young to be a captain — he's only 33. I said, 'What's going on with the flying?' And he said, 'They're just going to try and space people out.' But it's kind of a joke, because he told me all the air in an airplane is just recirculated. They just send it to the scrubbers — to the engine filters –— and they send it right back to the cockpit. So, all this '20 feet away, 10 feet away,' it's all kind of bullshit.

"But I've got to go out and work. I want to play."

Beach is best known for his work in the band WINGER and for being a member of WHITESNAKE since 2002.

After WINGER disbanded for a period in the mid-1990s, Beach first joined Alice Cooper's band and later replaced Lynch in DOKKEN. With DOKKEN, he recorded one studio album, titled "Erase The Slate", and a live DVD, titled "Live From The Sun".

Since leaving DOKKEN, Beach has been a part of several different recording and touring projects. In addition to sporadic touring with WINGER, he released a solo effort titled "Masquerade" in 2002. Since 2002, he has been a member of David Coverdale's current incarnation of WHITESNAKE and has been the longest-serving guitarist/member of the band to this day, excluding Coverdale.

In a 2019 interview with The Aquarian Weekly, Beach stated about stepping into another guitar hero's shoes in both WHITESNAKE and DOKKEN: "It might cross my mind for two seconds. I don't sound anything like [DEEP PURPLE's] Ritchie Blackmore and I don't sound anything like George Lynch. I never will. I was more nervous stepping into DOKKEN than with anything else, 'cause it was right after Lynch left. During our first live show together, this guy took off his sneaker and whipped it at me, striking me right in the head. He came to the show expecting to see George Lynch and not me. There were a few people not happy to see me. By the end of the show, however, they were happy."

German blackened death metal one-man project, Bloodred, will release the new album, The Raven's Shadow, on September 25 via Massacre Records. The tracklisting has been revealed and can be found below.

Bloodred was founded in 2009 by mastermind Ron Merz, who is responsible for the songwriting and also acts as the vocalist, guitarist as well as bassist since the band's formation. He's supported by session/studio musician Joris Nijenhuis on drums.

The first EP, entitled The Lost Ones, was released in 2014, followed by the debut album Nemesis in 2016.

For the second Bloodred album, The Raven's Shadow, Ron Merz once again teamed up with renowned producer Alexander Krull, who made sure that the songs sound as heavy as possible. Photographic artist Stefan Heilemann once more captured the very essence of the music and lyrics and created a timeless and impressive artwork.

I’m still not entirely sure who the band is, or what I signed (and I think they might actually be cartoons), but once I heard it, I just knew they had to be on EMP. The messages of Zac Red were just too powerful to ignore. And to be honest, it hasn’t left my cassette deck since.”

Polish technical death metal outfit Redemptor has initiated the recording of their new full-length. The impending successor of the band's Arthaneum album will be completed over the weeks ahead for release through Selfmadegod Records.

Redemptor recently welcomed drummer Daniel Rutkowski (Hate) to the lineup as a full-time member of the band. Following a three-year gap since Arthaneum, the material being harnessed for the upcoming album is proving to be dense, disturbing, and rich with gloomy textures. Upon its completion, the new album will be released on CD, LP, and digital formats late this autumn. Stay tuned for more details to be unveiled over the coming weeks.

uitarist Frank Hannon says that he disagrees with calls to "defund the police" in the United States.

Protests around the country in the wake of the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery have reignited conversations about the role of police in society, with some abolitionists advocating for dissolving existing police departments, like organizers with the Minneapolis police abolitionist group MPD150. Others only want to shrink police departments and their budgets and reinvest those resources in starved social services without getting rid of police entirely.

Hannon addressed the hot-button issue during an interview with "The Eddie Trunk Podcast". He said (hear audio below): "I do not agree with this defunding the police garbage that's going on. I support the police. Everyone hates the cops until you need a cop. And I've been in situations where I've needed the help of the police.

"I saw a story about a New York police officer," he continued. "She was a black female officer, God bless her heart. She was murdered, and now her daughter is raising the other kids by herself.

"It's just so sad to see how these people are being treated. I mean, these are the people that were running into the World Trade Center to help people when [9/11] went down.

"I support the police," Hannon reiterated. "I don't believe all this stuff that's going on about that myself. I think they definitely need to examine and weed out the bad cops that have a bad record. I mean, that was horrible, what happened to George Floyd and other people, injustices that have happened to not only black people, but white people, Asian people, Italians, Irish — everyone has definitely been affected by injustices. So they do need to examine and reform that. But totally getting rid of the police is just ludicrous."

TESLA has spent most of the last year touring in support of its latest album, "Shock", which was released in March 2019 via UMe. The follow-up to 2014's "Simplicity" was produced by DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen.

Collen previously co-wrote and produced the TESLA song "Save That Goodness", which was released in August 2016 and included on the "Mechanical Resonance Live!" album.

TESLA released "Five Man London Jam" on March 27 on Blu-ray, 2LP vinyl, CD and digital via Ume. The recording celebrates the 30th anniversary of TESLA's landmark "Five Man Acoustical Jam" album.

TESLA's current lineup includes four of the five original members: Jeff Keith (vocals), Hannon, Brian Wheat (bass) and Troy Luccketta (drums). Guitarist Dave Rude joined in 2006 as the replacement for Tommy Skeoch.

Dave Grohl joined Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music to reflect on the 25th anniversary of the debut self-titled FOO FIGHTERS album (originally released on July 4, 1995). Grohl talked about joining NIRVANA as the group's fifth drummer and initially being insecure about being fired, despite the members' immediate musical connection. He also recounts the days following Kurt Cobain's passing and picking himself back up to make music again, reminisces about the making of the debut FOO FIGHTERS album, and shares who he'd dedicate the album to if he re-wrote the album's linear notes today.

On joining NIRVANA and being insecure about getting fired

"Well, I mean, I joined NIRVANA. I was their fifth drummer, right? They'd had a team of drummers before me and some of them were more, I don't know, more in the band than others. So when I joined the band, I didn't know Krist [Novoselic] and Kurt [Cobain] at all. And when we first met and started playing, it was clear that when we got together to play that it worked really well, and we sounded what most people know now to sound like NIRVANA. We sounded like that. But you just meet these people and then it wasn't long... It was almost exactly a year from the time I joined to the time 'Nevermind' came out. And then once it came out, it was like things happen so quickly. The band got really big.

"But every band I'd been in before then was with friends that I'd known for a really long time. And so there's some security in that. So when you join a band where you don't know anyone and you're just starting to get to know each other, and it sounds great when you play music, you're just starting to get to know each other, but there's not a deep personal connection. And then the band becomes really huge really quickly. You're just so nervous that you're going to either get fired or it's going to stop. I didn't want to get fired, basically. And so I was doing my best to keep this thing from going away. So there was this real insecurity that I had: 'I'm not good enough. They're going to find somebody else.'"

On the days following Kurt Cobain's passing:

"After Kurt passed away, there was a period of everyone just hiding from the world and our whole world was turned upside down. So there was grief, there was mourning. We all rallied together. I remember hanging out with Krist Novoselic and the two of us making sure that we were okay. And then I did a little bit of traveling. I remember going... I took a trip to the U.K. I don't know — I just did a lot of driving around and thinking. And eventually, I started getting calls from people to ask if I wanted to play drums with them or join another band, and I just didn't see that happening at the time. And I'd always come home from tours and recorded songs by myself, but that feeling was gone. I didn't really want to write or even listen to music, much less join a band and play in one. So it was strange, when your life is just pulled out from under you like that. I don't think anyone really thought much about what came next. You were stuck in that moment. So eventually, I just pulled myself off the couch and thought, "Okay, I've always loved playing music and I've always loved writing and recording songs for myself. So I feel like I need to do that just for myself."

On whom he would like to dedicate FOO FIGHTERS' debut album to if he was re-writing the liner notes today:

"I mean, it should be a lot of people. But I would dedicate it to Krist and Kurt because still to this day, the NIRVANA experience was probably... I mean I don't want to say... I have children. I can't say it's the most important event in my entire life. But it's safe to say that we wouldn't be here right now talking about this if it weren't for my time in NIRVANA. And I had learned so many lessons from Kurt, I learned so many lessons from Krist. It was such an honor to be in that band and it was so devastating when it ended. But we have that catalog of music that we made together and that experience changed not only us, but a lot of the world that we lived in. So I think that that was probably my life's most formative period. I went from being a messy teen to then being in this band that was huge. And then it all ending and trying to build life again with the lessons that I had learned through all of that. And I was really young, I was 24 or 25 or something. So I would dedicate it to Krist and Kurt because I owe so much to those guys for sure."

On the pressure and scrutiny of making music after NIRVANA:

"There's some journalists that are just like, 'How dare you play music after NIRVANA.' I'm, like, 'What am I supposed to do?' We tried really hard to do it right. Instead of jumping on a tour opening up for some massive arena band at the time, we thought, 'Okay, well let's get in the van and let's do it like we've always done it. Let's start the way we always started,' and that felt comfortable to us. And in doing any promotion or press, we didn't make a video right out of the gate, we tried to temper all of that stuff because it was scary in a way. I knew that I was walking the plank on this. I knew that I was going to be scrutinized and I knew that there was going to be comparisons and things like that. And yeah, I mean it was tough. But it wasn't that tough. I mean it was like if someone gave you shit, you just say, 'Fuck you, motherfucker.'"

On having to adjust to being a frontman:

"Coming out and standing, I mean, fuck, I'd been sitting on a drum stool for so long that, 'Oh my God. Now I have to stand in front of people.' And, 'How does my body move? What do I say in between songs?' These are the things that go through your head, and if you're not feeling it or you don't have that connection or confidence, it can be fucking terrifying. And, I mean, it was for eight years or 10 years or so. It took a long time for me. I mean, now when I walk out on stage, it's just, like, 'Hey. Okay, let's go.' But a long time ago, even doing interviews, I was shy. I was just insecure, self-aware. I just felt like I wasn't used to being put in the forefront like that and I can not even watch interviews from those days back then."

appearance on the latest episode of the "In The Trenches With Ryan Roxie", SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser spoke about what the touring circuit might look like post-pandemic. "It's gonna be a really different world — it already is," he said (see video below). "How we are gonna perceive time and space and money and everything. What kind of jobs we're gonna have. And I think shows and entertainment will be very slow to come back. And who knows how? I think now a visa or a passport is not even important anymore; it's just like a vaccination certificate. Because otherwise, we wouldn't able to move, basically.

"It's really a fucked up situation," he continued. "And the saddest thing is that it was totally avoidable. We're not that stupid… Really — what the fuck, man? We see it coming; we just don't care. We watch movies and stuff, and we figure out. And now we're here. But at the same time, as an artist, I think it's a great time for opportunity, to show a different way, to see the open windows and open doors — not the closed door that is shut right in front of us.

"What would be the world without Picasso or Stravinsky or THE BEATLES? They changed the world — not only the music, but they changed the society. For better or worse, there's a lot of discussion, but it changed. And the art, really, is the first place that we're gonna see new possibilities, and that's very exciting as well."

In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of concerts and festivals have either been postponed or canceled, as social distancing and self-quarantining make performing live music and attending live shows all but impossible.

More than 14.5 million coronavirus cases have been reported worldwide and more than 606,000 deaths so far, putting public health systems and emergency services under immense pressure.

SEPULTURA's latest LP, "Quadra", was released on February 7 via Nuclear Blast Records. It is a concept effort created at Sweden's Fascination Street Studios with renowned producer Jens Bogren.

SEPULTURA comprises vocalist Derrick Green, Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., and drummer Eloy Casagrande.

SEPULTURA was formed in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, who are no longer with the band.

"Quadra" is the follow-up to "Machine Messiah", which was SEPULTURA's fourteenth studio album and the eighth since Green joined the ranks.

erview with the "Dabghanistan" podcast, ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello spoke about how the coronavirus pandemic has affected the songwriting sessions for the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2016's "For All Kings" album. He said (see video below): "We can't do anything [in person] right now, because nobody's gonna fly… I'm not flying anywhere. Look, when I see these videos on these damn newscasts of people walking in the aisle of an airplane, as we do, with no mask, and they're sitting next to a person with no mask… Dude, I have a kid, I have a family — it's not worth it for me. And it shouldn't be worth it for anybody, unless you have to be on that plane.

"For me, wear a mask," he continued. "That's all it takes. If you wear a mask, I'm good. And I hate to sound like I'm preaching. But dude, just save lives.

"Maybe 'cause we've been scarred from [living in] New York — the New York [number of infections and deaths] was so bad, and I pray it never gets to everybody… But now I see the rest of the country, unfortunately, going through this. But then when you see these pool parties go on…

"Live your life — I get it. But it's a different time. It's not 'party hearty' time. Now it's escalating to a really bad place. I'm no preacher, but people have families. I wanna see people survive.

"It's worse now [than it was at the beginning of the pandemic]," he added. "I can't believe it's worse. We had 50-something thousand new cases yesterday. How does that work?

"I sound like a public service announcement, but it's true — unless you wear a mask, the longer we're gonna wait. Bottom line."

U.S. officials have repeatedly urged Americans to heed what federal, state and local officials are asking of them in order to curtail the spread and dampen the impact of the virus on the population.

Lawmakers have been pushing harder for their constituents to wear face masks to limit the spread of coronavirus. Months after his own advisers recommended it, President Donald Trump finally wore a mask in public less than two weeks ago during a visit to wounded service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

D SISTER singer Dee Snider spoke to Ultimate Guitar about how the rise of grunge in the early 1990s forced most hard rock bands off the radio and MTV, with album and tour sales plummeting. Asked what his thoughts were about NIRVANA and other grunge bands when they emerged, Dee said: "I loved them. When they first came out, it wasn't even called grunge. And this is the thing about titles — even heavy metal, punk, hair metal, those are not titles chosen by the artists; they're titles chosen by the writers. And usually as a negative connotation. Usually as a form of a putdown. And the artists that they called grunge, called punk, called heavy metal — they hated it. This is a fact, dude. I'm old. I know this, a fact: if you mentioned grunge to SOUNDGARDEN or PEARL JAM, they got physically violent with you. They were just a rock band. And if anything, SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS, they were metal bands. They were touring with Ozzy [Osbourne]. It just became defined by some writers; they pigeonholed it and called it a new sound."

Dee continued: "When it first came out, I was, again, doing metal radio, and I was playing ALICE IN CHAINS, SOUNDGARDEN, NIRVANA on my show, and I was like, 'This is great, heavy new stuff.' So then it became defined as grunge, and then it was the hair metal killer, and that was awful.

"But I don't blame it on the music; hair metal did it to itself. It became too commercialized, and then it got unplugged and became nothing but power ballads and acoustic songs, and it wasn't metal anymore. It had to go; it had to change."

Upon release in September 1991, NIRVANA's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" wreaked confusion upon the hair metal vanguard, putting an end to an era dominated by glamorous, androgynous and sparkly rock stars who absolutely saturated the radio waves and were almost exclusively what aired on MTV.

Snider's TWISTED SISTER bandmate Jay Jay French recently told Daniel Sarkissian of the "Rock Is Dead?" documentary about the death of hair metal and arrival of grunge: "The only band that leapfrogged and saved themselves was GUNS N' ROSES. And my theory is that GUNS N' ROSES was not perceived as a joke. They came out of L.A., but I think that Axl [Rose], first of all, had a great voice. I think that they were perceived as real, not fake. Like, they were real junkies, not pretend junkies. So there's an authenticity. It's all about authenticity, and grunge is all about authenticity. People wanted authenticity, so they got it with grunge. It wiped out the perceived frivolousness of hair metal, which is, 'Hey, man. Let's party. Let's get the girls and drink.' I think people just got sick of that, and they wanted [something more] authentic."

Former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi told Newsday in a 2014 interview that the CRÜE album he sang on was a commercial disappointment because the music scene had changed, with hair metal brushed aside for grunge.

"Everybody was listening to ALICE IN CHAINS and SOUNDGARDEN," Corabi said. "At that point, we were considered passé."

According to Corabi, CRÜE's ill-fated 1994 American tour " was a nightmare. We weren't selling tickets. It was just horrible," he said.

Last year, former TNT singer Tony Harnell said that the rise of the grunge movement, which symbolized the working-class spirit and focused on music over image, was ultimately a positive thing for the rock genre because it "shined a really harsh light on how boring and repetitive" the '80s glam metal scene had become. He explained: "It was the same look, the same songwriters, the same producers, and it just started to be… Nobody was offering anything… Don't get me wrong, there were a few that got in there that were interesting and different, but, for the most part, they were all just sort of rehashes, slightly, of other bands."

Jerry of Rauta conducted an interview with guitarist Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson of Swedish black metal veterans MARDUK after the band's May 18 performance at this year's Steelfest in Hyvinkää, Finland. You can watch the entire chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On new drummer Simon "BloodHammer" Schilling:

Morgan: "The thing is, when Fredrik [Widigs] told us he was looking to do something completely different in life and asked what we thought about it, I said, 'Do whatever you want to do. It's your life.' He wanted continue because he has a strong education as an architect and that's where is heart and soul is. He said a half a year before he went out, that was what he wanted to do. We said, 'Fine.' We continued to do what we did. He was the one who said, 'The new drummer you should get is Simon.' We listened to him and he's a competent drummer. We contacted him and spoke to him, and we learned we shared a lot of the same devotion and ideas. It became a very natural thing and very smooth. We actually never rehearsed. He rehearsed on his own. We met up before in Russia the day before the shows, and that was the warm up before the European tour. He's very dedicated, very focused, hard-hitting, stable drummer."

On whether he worries what lineup changes will do to the chemistry of MARDUK:

Morgan: "In a way, because you should take your time with members. We met up before he joined us. We had a long, great discussion, then he went back home and rehearsed, then we met up and did it. That proved to me that he's focused, dedicated, strong, and that's the way we like it."

On whether he anticipated MARDUK would go through so many lineup changes upon their 1990 formation:

Morgan: "Yes. Because we have had so many members change over the years, but I mean, nothing lasts forever. Some bands do, but a lot of bands don't. I think it's natural because we're a band that tours a lot. We work very hard. We're devoted to what we do, and I believe in what I do, which I find the most important thing — whatever you do in life is to believe in what you do, otherwise, you shouldn't do it, whatever you do. Our drummer told me he'd like to focus on the architecture thing, I said fine. Same with the other members who have come and gone. Everybody is focused on different things. I'm focused on this band. It's my life, therefore we've had a lot of changes, but that's what you need to keep it focused. Over the years, we have done around maybe 1,500, 1,600 shows, we've done 14 albums, and we've toured a lot, and we believe in the idea of reaching as many territories as possible. Everybody's not into it. Some people think they are, but over the years, you go in different directions. It's like a marriage."

On what keeps MARDUK going:

Morgan: "As I said, we're very focused and we believe in what we do. I believe in the albums we have done. I think for us, we're stepping across new boundaries, we're doing what we believe in, and we sing about things we find interesting, fascinating, and believe in whatever it is. It creates soundtracks to a lot of these historical happenings. I like it."

On the criticism MARDUK has received for covering controversial topics:

Morgan: "I find that amusing. In a way, I like problems. I love problems. Life is about overcoming problems because we all get it. I will never back down from people who said, 'You can't do this. You can't do that. You can't sing about killing Christians and about raping them and doing whatever.' As soon as you sing about, for example, a theme related to World War II in a way that it happened, it's, like, 'Oh, you stepped over the line.' It's not my fucking life, so fuck off. I don't care. We will always do what we believe in and I don't give a shit about what people are talking about. I don't read; I don't care. For me, it's only about overcoming the idiots."

On trying to overcome "political correctness," which sometimes has forced MARDUK to cancel shows:

Morgan: "No, I'm not worried. If it's a big problem, it will be a problem. We might have to cancel shit here and there — I don't give a shit because we will never let anybody tell us, 'It's okay to do this. It's okay to do that.' We'd never been a band who adjusts to what people think, we do what we believe in. That's the most important thing. I will never let anybody tell me what to do. People can take history as it is. It's their problem."

On how he feels about the band's early, largely Satanic lyrical themes:

Morgan: "We all get older; we look at things in a different way. You need to grasp the lyrics and read it; you'll see that it's not really changed. When I go back and I look upon all the albums which we do once in a while when we rehearse the old songs, sometimes it surprises me because the lyrics, when I read them now, they mean even more to me than they did back then. They speak to me in a different way."

MARDUK's latest studio album, "Viktoria", was released in June 2018 via Century Media Records.

rontman Chris Jericho spoke to Loud Hailer about the progress of the recording sessions for the follow-up to 2017's "Judas" album. He said: "The COVID obviously pushed things back. The original idea was to put it out late summer/early fall, and it's not plausible, with everything getting shut down, all that sort of stuff. We then realized if we can't make it for 2020, let's not rush it, let's just get it out when it's ready. It's hard to tour right now, and not even knowing what the schedule's going to be or what's going to be allowed, we're just kind of taking that day by day, and just worrying about the songs, which are all amazing and incredible. We're really excited about this record, and I think it's going to be something that really takes us to the next level, just like 'Judas' took us up to the level we're at now."

Asked if everything has already been done for the album, Chris said: "I was just starting the vocal process at that point, so they've got a long way to go, but we're working on it. The way that the world is today, obviously, when you record a record, we can record one or two songs at a friend's house and it's fine, but when you're recording a FOZZY record, I've got to get in the studio with the producer [Johnny Andrews] and [guitarist] Rich Ward, so that's a little bit more of a face-to-face type of a thing that you've got to do. When the time is ready and we can do that, I'll be the first in line, for sure."

This past May, Jericho told Australia's Triple M radio station that FOZZY has "so many great songs" written for the new LP that "it's gonna be hard to pick the singles."

Ward and Andrews are once again "doing the lion's share" of the songwriting for the new LP, which is being recorded primarily in Atlanta, Georgia.

FOZZY's next album will include the song "Nowhere To Run", which recently hit Top 10 on the rock radio chart. The track is the band's third to hit Top 10 on rock radio, following "Judas" and "Painless".

In addition to producing "Judas", Andrews previously co-wrote FOZZY's "Lights Go Out" track back in 2014. He has also written songs with the likes of ALL THAT REMAINS, THREE DAYS GRACE and HALESTORM.

Last week, FOZZY announced the rescheduled "Save The World" tour dates, starting October 3 in Dallas, Texas and ending on November 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.

g to The Hollywood Reporter, the surviving members of SOUNDGARDEN have dropped their counterclaim against Chris Cornell's widow Vicky Cornell and the Chris Cornell estate regarding a Chris Cornell tribute concert.

Last December, Vicky Cornell filed a lawsuit against Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd, alleging the group owed Cornell's estate hundreds of thousands of dollars in allegedly unpaid royalties and the rights to seven unreleased recordings made before the singer's death in May of 2017.

Responding to Vicky's lawsuit, Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd claimed that they "don't have possession" of their "own creative work," and alleged that "Vicky Cornell has possession of the only existing multi-track recordings of the last SOUNDGARDEN tracks that include Chris Cornell's instrumental parts and vocals. All of the band members jointly worked on these final tracks, Vicky now claims ownership of the final SOUNDGARDEN album." They also insisted that all of the bandmembers, not just Cornell, are owed monies, but none of them will be paid until "expenses are paid and the partnership shares of earnings can be calculated and distributed."

This past May, Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd filed a countersuit in U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Florida, Miami division, claiming that Vicky Cornell requested in late 2018 that they agree to perform at the "I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell" January 16, 2019 concert in Los Angeles without compensation. "To induce SOUNDGARDEN to agree to this request, Vicky Cornell represented that the revenue from the Cornell Concert would be used for charitable purposes," the complaint stated.

Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd alleged "that Vicky Cornell's representation was false in that Vicky Cornell did not have the intention of using some or all of the revenue from the Cornell Concert for charitable purposes, but rather for personal purposes for herself and her family. SOUNDGARDEN is informed and believes and thereon alleges that Vicky Cornell knew that the representation was false, or exhibited recklessness or negligence as to its truth or falsity, for the purpose and with the intent of inducing SOUNDGARDEN into agreeing to perform at the Cornell Concert without compensation," the counterclaim read.

After Vicky Cornell's lawyers threatened Thayil, Cameron and Shepherd with Rule 11 sanctions for filing "shameful and objectively frivolous" claims, they dropped allegations related to the "I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell" benefit concert.

"When we threatened SOUNDGARDEN with the undisputed facts that their claims concerning Vicky Cornell and the Cornell Charitable Foundation were disgraceful and fabricated by requesting the court sanction them for their appalling conduct, they caved in and agreed to drop their claims," Cornell's attorney Martin Singer said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. "We were looking forward to having the court make SOUNDGARDEN and their attorneys accountable for their shameful conduct, but they instead backed off their meritless claims since they knew they would lose the Rule 11 motion, which is used in court to punish and deter parties and their attorneys from pursuing objectively frivolous claims."

A Wednesday stipulation permitting SOUNDGARDEN to file a first amended complaint states, "The sole purpose of filing the First Amended Counterclaims is to dismiss the Ninth and Tenth Causes of Action and certain related factual allegations relating to the January 16, 2019 charity concert: 'I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell'."

an appearance on the latest episode of "Live From Nerdville With Joe Bonamassa", legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes looked back on his 2016 induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, where he was honored along with other former and current members of DEEP PURPLE.

"My dad passed away that night," Glenn said (see video below). [He had been suffering from] dementia, and he had not been well for a week. And mom called me every day, as our mothers do, and she hadn't called me that day. And I sensed something was wrong. I didn't talk to anyone — [my wife] Gabi knew about it, of course, but I didn't tell anyone about it. And I was not my normal self.

"I was just really happy to be on that stage with these fellows I was in a family with. And to become inducted into the Hall Of Fame is quite an achievement for anyone — and we've got friends that should be in there that aren't.

"To continue what I've been doing for 50 years now, and to have that achievement was great.

"[Former DEEP PURPLE singer] David Coverdale and I were holding hands," Glenn added. "We're really, really tight, and we've always been tight, but we were holding hands that night together.

"It was great for him and I to be inducted with those fellows — really great."

Known as the "voice of rock," Hughes spent key years of his career as the beloved bassist and vocalist of DEEP PURPLE, appearing on the classic albums "Burn", "Stormbringer" and "Come Taste the Band". More recently, he has been playing various hits and deep cuts from the DEEP PURPLE catalog, including "Burn", "Stormbringer", "Sail Away" and "Smoke On The Water", as part of his "Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live" tour, which was launched in 2017.

In 2009, Hughes formed BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, keyboardist Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, SONS OF APOLLO) and drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER).

Last year, Hughes joined THE DEAD DAISIES as the band's new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).

Hughes's first album with THE DEAD DAISIES, "Holy Ground", will be released on January 22, 2021.

A COIL singer Cristina Scabbia has blasted people who promote the conspiracy theory that the COVID-19 pandemic is part of a strategy conceived by global elites — such as Bill Gates — to roll out vaccinations with tracking chips that would later be activated by 5G, the technology used by cellular networks.

"Don't get sucked into this stupid, stupid news," Cristina said during a July 14 Twitch chat with her followers. "When we talk about a conspiracy — a conspiracy for what? You tell me, because everyone I talk to online about this so-called conspiracy, they can't give me an explanation. And as per science, if you can't prove it's the way you're saying it, it's not true. So if you're telling me that the 5G is connected to the virus, whatever, you need to prove it in order to say it is like this. And I've heard — trust me — so many stupid things, it's not even funny. I've heard about microchips in masks, and that's why they they want us — 'they'; they who? — want us to wear the masks so they can control us. I mean, I really wonder who is the one… I'm thinking about presidents and whoever is at the highest place, taking care of a state, for example, I wonder what is the good coming out of putting a state on its knees, ruining [it] completely economically, what is the good coming out of it if the state itself then has to try to help every human being living in that territory. It makes no fucking sense."

She continued: "If you're having any doubt about, 'I don't know how the virus started. Maybe they created it in a laboratory,' then I can give you the option of a doubt, because I don't know it either, and we don't know it either. And that's okay — we don't know where it was originated for sure; there are some theories, there are some options. But that is a different thing. But speaking about a conspiracy because they want to control us? That is the stupidest thing that I've heard my whole life — my whole life."

Scabbia also criticized people who refuse to wear a mask in public spaces to protect others from possible infection. The Italian singer addressed the hot-button issue as lawmakers push harder for their constituents to wear face masks to limit the spread of coronavirus. "I'm reading the news and I'm deeply, deeply saddened because I see that some places in North America [are] put on a lockdown again," Cristina said. "And that is because a lot of people are just refusing to wear masks, because they think it's a joke. I see a lot of fear and so many conspiracies going on. And it makes me really, really sad, because you guys know that I've always been respectful towards the law. In this case, I know that it's not just putting on a mask because the law says it — it is because I want to protect myself and the loved ones. So when I read about people going and, even worse, organizing COVID parties — I mean, this is the saddest, most pathetic, most miserable thing I can hear. I mean, someone creating on purpose occasions for infections. And this is so stupid, because it's not only dangerous, but no one thinks about the big picture."

She added: "Everybody feels very unafraid and strong. But if you get infected, it's not just about you, it's about everyone surrounding you. So that means that you're not only very selfish, but you have no heart, because you might be infecting your parents, you might be infecting your grandparents, you might be infecting a friend of yours who has some health problems. So it is very, very, very stupid, and I honestly — I mean, I shouldn't say that — but I despise these stupid people. And I will say it again and again, because they are a disgrace to humanity. In a moment where everybody is trying to cooperate, to work with each other to make it a better world, there is someone who tries everything possible to feel better than the others. There is always that 'I'm better than you, I know more than you do' thing that really, really bothers me and stays under my skin. It makes me mad. It makes me really, really mad."

More than 244,000 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Italy, where LACUNA COIL is based, and more than 35,000 have died.

Lombardy, where LACUNA COIL's hometown of Milan is located, is the worst-affected region in the country and accounts for about half of Italy's deaths from the virus.

A 35-year retrospective of his life, music and art that looks into his world outside the works of JANE'S ADDICTION and PORNO FOR PYROS, it focuses on 68 tracks worth of Perry's alt rock rarities and heart-pounding artistic explorations. Across nine 180-gram vinyls, "Perry Farrell: The Glitz ; The Glamour" takes fans through his expansive solo career starting with his first band PSI COM and their five-song self-titled EP. Recorded in 1985, just prior to the formation of JANE'S ADDICTION, the PSI COM sound was inspired by artists like JOY DIVISION and SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES — setting forth the tempest of what would become alternative rock. The band was recently featured in new documentary "Desolation Center", the previously untold story of '80s guerilla music, art and culture in Southern California, and is available now on all streaming video platforms. Today, Perry has shared one of PSI COM's tracks off the EP, "Ho Ka Hey".

2001's "Song Yet To Be Sung" was inspired by and recorded after a life-changing experience in Sudan helping free thousands of slaves from human bondage. This experience and album set forth Perry as a humanitarian and his commitment to equality. The 12-song EP was written and produced by Perry Farrell and is joined on the album by lifelong friends including Dave Navarro (JANE'S ADDICTION), Martyn LeNoble (PORNO FOR PYROS) and Stephen Perkins (JANE'S ADDICTION and PORNO FOR PYROS).

SATELLITE PARTY's 2007 album "Ultra Payloaded" was co-produced by Perry, Steve Lillywhite and Nuno Bettencourt and featured Perry's wife and muse Etty Lau Farrell. The 12-song LP also included collaborations with John Frusciante, Flea, Fergie, NEW ORDER's Peter Hook, Peter DiStefano (PORNO FOR PYROS), Thievery Corporation and Mad Professor.

2018's "Kind Heaven" was described by Rolling Stone as "a mind-bending audio hallucination." For the recording of the album, the alt-rock icon assembled a dynamic group of artists who together realized the new collaborative musical venture known as the KIND HEAVEN ORCHESTRA. The record, co-produced by Farrell and Tony Visconti, features contributions from Elliot Easton (THE CARS), Taylor Hawkins (FOO FIGHTERS), Mike Garson (DAVID BOWIE), Chris Chaney (JANE'S ADDICTION), Etty Lau Farrell, Dhani Harrison as well as Tommy Lee, The Bloody Beetroots, Cascade and Joachim Garraud. It featured singles "Pirate Punk Politician", a searing indictment of the current state of our planet under a rising tide of autocratic regimes, and the soaring song of hope "Let's all Pray For This World", plus two applaudable new tracks from the KIND HEAVEN ORCHESTRA.

There is also an unearthed recording of Jim Morrison (THE DOORS) that Farrell has composed, and to complete the circle written and recorded with L.A.'s next generation STARCRAWLER.

The box set also features 11 specially commissioned remixes and collaborations spanning two exclusive vinyls. These feature heavyweight luminaries from the electronic dance world, including Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, UNKLE, Solomun, Booka Shade, Richard Norris, Francois K and The Avalanches.

The box set will be strictly limited to just 3,000 units exclusively numbered.

Speaking to Kerrang! about how "The Glitz; The Glamour" came about, Perry said: "The charge was actually led by my management, who went back and listened to the work I'd done and said: 'You've never been fully realized, and we think it's time that you put this work out in an organized manner.' They went looking for everything that I'd done, including my first group PSI COM. Somebody actually found the masters for PSI COM in the trash and retrieved them. That's how little I was paying attention, shall we say, in those days. Back then my attitude was: 'What I'm about to witness is for my eyes and ears only, and that will make it really valuable.' That sounds naïve, but in the long run it worked out that way. PSI COM wasn't heard by a lot of people. We made the record for $500. It's great to have it now, though, as a way to connect with my past."

ron Osbourne says that Ozzy is "doing really good" after suffering from several medical issues last year, including a fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu.

The legendary heavy metal singer's wife and manager disussed his health issues during an appearance on the latest episode of Steve-O's "Wild Ride!" podcast.

Asked for an update on Ozzy's health, Sharon said (see video below): "He's doing good. He's doing really, really good. He's had a terrible, terrible injury. At one point, they thought he would never walk again, but he is — he's walking and he's doing great. He's been hit by so much medically, but he's doing good. He's getting stronger every day.

"Oh, God. I mean, to be hit with the spinal injury, and then what it had done was it kind of started off the Parkinson's [disease] that he had the gene for but was never activated — he just had the gene. It's like having the breast cancer gene but it never comes into fruition — it never gets alive. And he had the Parkinson's gene and this accident just sparked it off. So he kind of had a double dose of everything. But he's doing good.

"It's heartbreaking — it's heartbreaking — to see this," she added. "He's had this ride in his life, and then suddenly — boom! — you are floored. And to have your health taken away... No matter what you've got money-wise or anything in the world, [it's something you] can't fix."

When the pandemic struck, Ozzy had just released his first solo album in a decade, "Ordinary Man", which he recorded late last year while recovering from surgery and related illnesses. The BLACK SABBATH singer had previously canceled all his 2019 tour plans and was eventually forced to also call off all his 2020 dates.

"The album was sensational," Sharon said. "He's starting his second album with ['Ordinary Man' producer] Andrew Watt right now. And you can't stop him. He's doing it.

"Ozzy says that as far as performing goes, he has to end it his way," Sharon explained. "Because it was his farewell tour that he was on [before he had his accident], but he still had a year to do of that tour, and there were seats sold for the next year, but the accident stopped it all. But he said it's not gonna end just like that — it's gonna end his way. And he's gonna go back out. And even if it's just one huge show to say goodbye, he's going to do it."

This past May, Ozzy's son Jack said that his father will "probably" retire "within the next five to ten years." But Ozzy, who turned 71 last December, has repeatedly said that he is not calling it quits, despite the fact that his "No More Tours 2" — whenever it ends up happening — is being billed as his last major global trek.

Ozzy was also forced to cancel an April trip to Switzerland to see a doctor who specializes in treatment of Parkinson's disease. The singer revealed earlier this year that he was diagnosed with the condition.

Books has set a September 8 release date for "Rust In Peace: The Inside Story Of The Megadeth Masterpiece" (formerly "Building The Perfect Beast"), a new book by Dave Mustaine, the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of MEGADETH, the original lead guitarist of METALLICA, and the author of The New York Times bestseller "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir".

Dave echoed those sentiments, telling Metal Hammer magazine about "Rust In Peace": "It really put us on the map. It was one of those pivotal records, and people really started to recognize our playing ability, because when we did 'Peace Sells' and stuff like that, people knew we could play but they didn't know we could play that good. This was one of those records that helped fuel the prog metal scene too. A lot of people have said that over the years, and I used to think, 'What are you talking about?' but when I listen to it now, I totally get it. Listen to the odd time signatures in 'Five Magics'. I guess we started a lot of that stuff. It's flattering to me, because I can hear my influence in thrash and speed metal and I guess we influenced some other stuff, too, along the way."

Mustaine autobiography, "Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir", which came out in August 2010, landed at position No. 15 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list. The book was released in the U.S. via HarperCollins's It Books imprint (focusing on pop culture, sports, style and content derived from the Internet). The U.K. edition, "Mustaine: A Life In Metal", hit bookstores in the U.K. in September 2010.

"Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir" was co-written by New York Times journalist Joe Layden who also authored "The Last Great Fight" about what is considered by many to be the biggest upset in the history of boxing: James "Buster" Douglas' tenth-round knockout win over Mike Tyson in 1990.

played a "socially distanced" concert last night (Friday, July 17) at Dr. Pepper Park in Roanoke, Virginia that featured special guest guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE). He was filling in for DOKKEN's longtime guitarist Jon Levin, who had opted to sit out the show due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

DOKKEN frontman Don Dokken explained the guitarist switch in an interview with Greg Prato of Songfacts. He said: "Reb is coming to fill in because Jon can't go on the road right now — he doesn't feel comfortable with the COVID because his father is 90 years old and he's the primary caregiver. He said, 'Man, if I get COVID and give it to my dad, he'll die.' And I said, 'I get it, Jon. I respect you and your father.' So, I got Reb coming in to fill in for these two shows, and I just told Jon, 'Let's hope for the best. Let's hope the COVID thing gets better and they come out with a vaccine. Until then, if you don't feel comfortable getting on a plane, then don't.'"

Beach is best known for his work in the band WINGER and for being a member of WHITESNAKE since 2002.

After WINGER disbanded for a period in the mid-1990s, Beach first joined Alice Cooper's band and later replaced Lynch in DOKKEN. With DOKKEN, he recorded one studio album, titled "Erase The Slate", and a live DVD, titled "Live From The Sun".

Since leaving DOKKEN, Beach has been a part of several different recording and touring projects. In addition to sporadic touring with WINGER, he released a solo effort titled "Masquerade" in 2002. Since 2002, he has been a member of David Coverdale's current incarnation of WHITESNAKE and has been the longest-serving guitarist/member of the band to this day, excluding Coverdale.

In a 2019 interview with The Aquarian Weekly, Beach stated about stepping into another guitar hero's shoes in both WHITESNAKE and DOKKEN: "It might cross my mind for two seconds. I don't sound anything like [DEEP PURPLE's] Ritchie Blackmore and I don't sound anything like George Lynch. I never will. I was more nervous stepping into DOKKEN than with anything else, 'cause it was right after Lynch left. During our first live show together, this guy took off his sneaker and whipped it at me, striking me right in the head. He came to the show expecting to see George Lynch and not me. There were a few people not happy to see me. By the end of the show, however, they were happy."

After effectively saving the world with the very successful "Concert To Save The World" in June, California glam metal jokesters STEEL PANTHER are now back with another virtual concert event, "Rockdown In The Lockdown". The show will take place on Sunday, August 16 from the ultra-sanitized, production-filled, multi-camera Drum Channel Studio at Drum Workshop, located in Oxnard, California. STEEL PANTHER's latest album, "Heavy Metal Rules", was released last September. The disc, which is described in a press release as a "heavy metal version of a self-help manual and ultimate party album combined," was once again produced by Jay Ruston, who collaborated with the band on all of its previous recordings, including 2017's "Lower The Bar".

STEEL PANTHER specializes in imitating and exaggerating the less flattering aspects of 1980s hair metal, with unrepentantly crude, non-PC sexual content as a favorite lyrical theme.

The group's music has been described as "VAN HALEN meets MÖTLEY CRÜE meets RATT meets 'Wayne's World', complete with operatic shrieks, misogyny, shredding guitar solos and libidinal overdrive."

Twelve years ago, STEEL PANTHER changed its name from METAL SKOOL to its current moniker and shifted the focus of its act from '80s metal covers to originals.

The outspoken conservative rocker, who is a staunch proponent of gun ownership, discussed America's 45th president an interview with "America This Week With Eric Bolling", Sinclair Broadcast Group's weekly news program hosted by conservative Fox News alum Eric Bolling.

Ted said (see video below): "I see that Donald J. Trump, hallelujah, is not an entrenched, status quo, power-abusing, criminal, punk-ass politician. He's a hellraiser, working-hard, playing-hard guy that got us back to God, family, country, work ethic, independence — you know, the man in the arena. You bust your ass to be in the asset column, earn your own way, live within your means, save for a rainy day — all that radical, extreme stuff. And he's my guy — I really love this guy. He came just in a nick of time. And I'm speaking for all my huntin' buddies, all my musicians, my band, my crew, my family, my neighbors, the cops that I train with, the military heroes that I hunt with — I'm speaking for the heart and soul of this country when I talk like this."

Asked about a recent report that Grammy-winning singer James Taylor slammed Trump in a fundraising e-mail for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, calling Trump "a puffed-up, self-absorbed, all-hat-and-no-cattle cowboy," Nugent said: "I've gotta tell you, I know a lot of these people in the entertainment world. I mean, I told Jimi Hendrix he was gonna die, I told Keith Moon he was gonna die, I told John Belushi he was gonna die — I literally looked him in the eye. And these people live in such a — whether it's literally a drugged-out, drunken fantasy world or figuratively speaking a drugged, stoned fantasy world.

"Remember, I just mentioned by ranching buddies, my huntin' buddies, all the working-hard, playing-hard neighbors here in Texas and in Michigan," he continued. "Plus, I have family and friends in all 50 states — I hunt and rock and roll in all 50 states; I know these people — and the entertainment industry has intentionally removed them from the heartland; you know, flyover America. Not all of them. But when you see somebody step out and wear a Che Guevara shirt," referring to the prominent communist figure in the Cuban Revolution, "when Che Guevara would have killed the dumb son of a bitch, you've gotta just wince and furrow your brow and plow forward with truth, logic, common sense, God, family, country. And that's what we're doing."

Last year, Nugent defended Trump after the U.S. president was accused of making racist remarks about Democratic congresswomen from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Nugent and fellow Detroit-bred rocker Kid Rock got to spend some time in the Oval Office with Trump in April 2017. They were joined by Sarah Palin, the former Alaskan governor and GOP vice presidential nominee, who posted photos of the visit on social media the following morning. Nugent later told the Detroit Free Press that he and Kid Rock represent a salt-of-the-earth American demographic that helped Trump land the presidency.
