LYNCH MOB To Release 'Wicked Sensation Reimagined' In August

LYNCH MOB To Release 'Wicked Sensation Reimagined' In August

rock veterans LYNCH MOB will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their seminal album "Wicked Sensation" with a special limited print/deluxe anniversary edition of the album. "Wicked Sensation Reimagined" features re-worked and re-recorded versions of their classic songs and will be available via Rat Pak Records on August 28 (also available in Japan via Marquee/Avalon).

The original twelve-track album, released in October 1990, is considered by many to be sacred and perfect the way it was. The idea of remaking it was not something Oni Logan or George Lynch took lightly.

"The term 're-record' makes me cringe; this is not that," explains Lynch. "We re-invented the wheel on this record. It's really a different animal than the original! Fans won't be disappointed!"

Logan adds: "30 years later here we are celebrating the first song I penned and wrote for the band LYNCH MOB, 'Wicked Sensation'. This one’s for the fans that have been there from the beginning! My recommendation is to listen to it loud!!"

The cover of "Wicked Sensation Reimagined" was hand drawn by Midwest comic artist Andrew Owens as a tribute to the original cover art.

The album is available in multiple bundle configurations, including a limited print yellow-and-black splatter vinyl (limited to 500), hand-autographed CD bundles and cassettes and more.

With the help of Robbie Crane (BLACK STAR RIDERS) on bass and Brian Tichy on drums, Lynch and Logan bring passion and power into these newly created arrangements; some that take nothing away from the old versions but bring new light and magic to the material. The songs continue to sound as fresh and timeless and will be ready to garner a whole new legion of fans for the next thirty years.

"Wicked Sensation Reimagined" was produced by LYNCH MOB and Brian Tichy and mixed/mastered by Chris "The Wizard" Collier.

"Wicked Sensation Reimagined" track listing:

01. Wicked Sensation (Reimagined)

02. River Of Love (Reimagined)

03. Sweet Sister Mercy (Reimagined)

04. All I Want (Reimagined)

05. Hell Child (Reimagined)

06. She's Evil But She's Mine (Reimagined)

07. Dance of the Dogs (Reimagined)

08. Rain (Reimagined)

09. No Bed Of Roses (Reimagined)

10. Through These Eyes (Reimagined)

11. For a Million Years (Reimagined)

12. Street Fightin' Man (Reimagined)

Logan first hooked up with LYNCH MOB in 1990, but exited the group after the release of its first album, only to rejoin the outfit in the late 2000s. His most recent departure from LYNCH MOB took place in January 2018. At the time, he said in a statement that he was "looking forward to writing with other artists and bands."

Logan is featured on five of LYNCH MOB's eight albums, including "Wicked Sensation", as well as 2009's "Smoke And Mirrors", 2014's "Sun Red Sun", 2015's "Rebel" and 2017's "The Brotherhood".

In an interview with "The Right To Rock", Lynch said that he was at peace with the fact that LYNCH MOB will never have a permanent lineup.

"LYNCH MOB is a fluid device and a revolving door," he said. "And that's okay. I've learned to live with that and sort of embrace it."

VARG - Limited Edition Formats Of Zeichen Album Available; Video Trailer Posted

VARG - Limited Edition Formats Of Zeichen Album Available; Video Trailer Posted

The wolves of Varg return to their roots with their seventh full-length album, Zeichen (translated: Signs), to be released on September 18th via Napalm Records. The album marks a new era of the wolves haunted by wild battles, death and bloodlust - a resurrection from the fields of Pagan Metal, pairing razor-sharp melodic death riffs with Freki's furious vocals. Forget anything you have seen or heard about them in the past few years and embrace the new album as a reboot of a band that never ceased to evolve and has gotten rid of everything superfluous.

The video below presents the various limited edition formats of Zeichen that are available on vinly, as cassette, and a wooden box set.

Varg sets an uncompromising sign with first monumental single "Zeichen", which comes along with an official video and introduces the concept behind their upcoming offering. Visually and lyrically, their first single draws the listener deep into the Viking era, picturing their traditions, a strong community cohesion, ancient runes, the old gods and their beliefs. The chorus gets stuck in your head, coalesces with the blasting power of riffs and perfectly showcases the reincarnation of Varg. "Zeichen" is the ultimate hymn heralding the age of the wolves.

Singer Freki states: "'Zeichen' is the heart of our new album, maybe even of the 'new' Varg. It was important to us to release the title song first along with an official music video, since it reflects the energy of our new full-length both musically and visually, and invites our fans to the legendary era of the Vikings. Follow us on a journey!"

GENE SIMMONS And PAUL STANLEY's ROCK & BREWS In Maui Closes Doors For Good

GENE SIMMONS And PAUL STANLEY's ROCK & BREWS In Maui Closes Doors For Good

Rock & Brews, the family-friendly restaurant brand co-founded by KISS leaders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, has closed its location in the beach-side community of Paia on Maui, Hawaii permanently after the COVID-19 pandemic effectively killed the tourist market.

Rock & Brews CEO Adam Goldberg told The Maui News that the decision to close for good wasn't an easy one. "Unfortunately, due to COVID that’s affecting all of us in many different ways, we had no choice," he said. "We tried to drag it out as long as we can to get a good understanding of what we think will happen with tourism. But we just don't see having the customer base to support our rents and our cost."

Rock & Brews Paia, which opened in January 2014, was designed by Maui architect Jim Niess of Maui Architectural Group, along with teacher, spiritual leader and artist Al Lagunero of Maui, serving as a consultant on Hawaiian culture and art. The 'ohana restaurant paid tribute to the familial warmth and character that is synonymous with Paia, while respecting the vibrant Rock & Brews brand look and feel. It featured Rock & Brews' popular casual American comfort food, as well as local favorites, and a full bar, including Paia's largest selection of craft beers.

Guests were able to enjoy al fresco or indoor dining in a family-friendly rock concert-like environment complete with concert lighting, multiple screens presenting concert videos, hand-painted murals of rock artists, album and tour art, as well as art by local artists and art that salutes Hawaiian history and culture. The restaurant was designed to welcome local families and visitors alike.

The grand opening of Rock & Brews Paia paid tribute to both Wounded Warrior Project and the Paia Youth Center. A luncheon was held for wounded warriors, returning vets and active military, and an evening celebration benefited the Paia Youth Center. Both events were hosted by Simmons and Stanley.

CHRIS CORNELL Biography 'Total F**king Godhead' To Arrive Next Week

CHRIS CORNELL Biography 'Total F**king Godhead' To Arrive Next Week

t Hill Press, whose product is distributed by Simon & Schuster, will release "Total F*cking Godhead - The Biography Of Chris Cornell", the first comprehensive biography of iconic singer-songwriter Chris Cornell, on July 28.

With input from those who knew and worked with him — together with his own words — "Total F*cking Godhead" recounts the rise of Cornell and his immortal band SOUNDGARDEN as they emerged from the 1980s post-punk underground to dominate popular culture in the '90s alongside PEARL JAM, ALICE IN CHAINS and NIRVANA.

Seattle resident and rock writer Corbin Reiff also examines Cornell's dynamic solo career as well as his time in AUDIOSLAVE. He delves into his hard-fought battle with addiction, and the supercharged reunion with the band that made him famous before everything came to a shocking end.

Reiff first announced he was working on the book in December 2018. At the time, he said that he had interviewed legendary Seattle producer Jack Endino, who worked on SOUNDGARDEN's early recordings, as well as Seattle music critic Dawn Anderson, the first person to ever review the band's music back in 1986. But he apparently did not speak to the members of Cornell's family or his bandmates in SOUNDGARDEN.

Cornell was pronounced dead on May 18, 2017 after being found unresponsive in his Detroit hotel room. SOUNDGARDEN had played a show earlier that evening. The 52-year-old had sedatives and an anxiety drug in his system, but died as a result of hanging himself.

In January 2019, Cornell was honored at a tribute concert in Los Angeles, where the remaining members of SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE, along with METALLICA, FOO FIGHTERS and others, performed.

A box set featuring music from all three of Cornell's bands, as well as his solo records, was issued in November 2018.

Ex-BLACK SABBATH Singer TONY MARTIN Signs With BATTLEGOD PRODUCTIONS And DARK STAR RECORDS For New Solo Album

Ex-BLACK SABBATH Singer TONY MARTIN Signs With BATTLEGOD PRODUCTIONS And DARK STAR RECORDS For New Solo Album

BLACK SABBATH singer Tony Martin has signed with Battlegod Productions and Dark Star Records for the release of his long-awaited new solo album. Among the guest musicians set to appear on the LP are Danny "Danté" Needham (VENOM), Magnus Rosén (ex-HAMMERFALL), Scott McClellan, Greg Smith and Martin's youngest son Joe.

Martin said: "I have chosen two labels to work on the release of the new Tony Martin album. The first one I have chosen is Battlegod. These guys have shown immense faith and enthusiasm for this release. And I am really pleased to have them working on it for Australia, Asia, Europe and Japan. The next label I want to introduce is Dark Star. These guys have been super flexible in their approach to getting this on side... very happy to have them as part of this release. For all the Americas these are the guys that you will get the new Tony Martin album from."

Martin's last solo album, "Scream", was released in November 2005 via MTM Music.

BLACK SABBATH released six albums with Martin on vocals: "The Eternal Idol" (1987), "Headless Cross" (1989), "Tyr" (1990), "Cross Purposes" (1994), "Cross Purposes Live" (1995) and "Forbidden" (1995). Eventually, Martin and his "Forbidden"-era bandmates were ousted when guitarist Tony Iommi reunited with SABBATH's fellow original members.

In a 2012 interview with Über Röck, Martin said that he was "surprised" to see Iommi criticizing him in the guitarist's "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath" book (referring to the Martin period, especially the touring phase following the release of "Cross Purposes" in 1994, Iommi lambasted his former singer as "unprofessional" and having "no stage presence"). Martin said: "I mean, they never said anything to me. Surely, if you've got a problem, the first person you should say something to is the person that's in the band with you... It sounds like a really stupid thing to say, as they didn't say anything to my face — and, if that's the case, then more fool them for not saying anything, because, you know, we could have fixed it. I said to them, endlessly, that if there was anything they wanted changed, done differently, just to say and we could fix it, but clearly, they didn't, they hadn't got the guts to, obviously, and to write about it in a book afterwards seems a bit daft to me. I'm not bitter about it, but it is surprising... It seems a bit stupid to say that after the event."

Four years ago, Iommi told I Heart Guitar that "it's a shame" that "it took a lot for people to accept" Martin as SABBATH's vocalist. "It's taken all these years later for people to say, 'Oh blimey, that was a good band with good singing.' So it took a long time to get people to really realize how good it was."

In 2018, Iommi spent time in the studio remixing "Forbidden" for a future release. The LP, which features Martin, drummer Cozy Powell and bassist Neil Murray, is often regarded as SABBATH's worst studio recording.

Watch METALLICA Perform Entire 'Master Of Puppets' Album In Berlin

Watch METALLICA Perform Entire 'Master Of Puppets' Album In Berlin

CA has posted another video as part of its new concert series, "#MetallicaMondays", where the band is streaming a complete live show for fans on the group's YouTube channel and on Facebook every week. The latest concert to be shared was recorded on June 6, 2006 at Waldbühne in Berlin, Germany and featured the "Master Of Puppets" album performed in its entirety.

"Master Of Puppets" was released on February 24, 1986 and was the first album METALLICA recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records.

The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since.

It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash.

Several songs from the album are still staples of METALLICA's live set, including "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title track.

METALLICA has been largely out of the public eye since last fall when the band canceled an Australian tour and announced that frontman James Hetfield was returning to rehab for the first time since 2002 to battle his addictions.

Hetfield made his first major public appearance since entering rehab on January 30, when an exhibit featuring 10 of his classic custom cars opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

In March, METALLICA announced that its South American tour, which was originally planned for April, has been postponed until December. In addition, the band's appearances at four Danny Wimmer Presents-produced festivals in May and September have been canceled: Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome To Rockville in Daytona, Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville.

TESLA, VIO-LENCE And JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE Members Team Up For Cover Of PAT TRAVERS's 'Snortin' Whiskey' (Video)

TESLA, VIO-LENCE And JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE Members Team Up For Cover Of PAT TRAVERS's 'Snortin' Whiskey' (Video)

b>MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel has teamed up with singer Sean Killian (VIO-LENCE), guitarist Dave Rude (TESLA), bassist Dan McNay (JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE) and drummer Mark Hernandez (DRESS THE DEAD) to record a "quarantine" cover version of the Pat Travers classic "Snortin' Whiskey" as part of Phil's new series "Collab-A-Jam".

Phil uploaded the video to his YouTube channel, writing in an accompanying message: "This was Mark's baby and asked me to host this as part on this series."

Added Mark: "Bay Area Bro jam!! That's what we did. What an amazing cast of musicians I had the pleasure of doing this with. From the opening riff until the pick slide at the end, it's nothing but a good time vibe that the local boys laid down.

"I reached out to Phil and Sean a few weeks into SIP and asked if they would want to do a jam video of a TORQUE/VIO-LENCE song with other musicians. Phil suggested we do something else. After watching Charlie, Alex, and Ra doing RUSH, I didn't want to try something that was going to try to copy that level of technicality! To keep with the original groove and make it fun was what I had in mind. To make it heavy was something that would be unavoidable.

"Sean picked 'Snortin’ Whiskey' and it couldn't have been a better choice. The right amount of groove, guitars, and levity. Plus, who doesn’t love a good cowbell section, huh?!

"After throwing a bunch of names around with Phil, he suggested we keep it in The Bay. First guy I thought of was Dan McNay whom I had jammed with at one of Phil's MERKINS gigs at Christmas. Dude lays down a solid groove that was a great foundation for Phil's next suggestion. Dave Rude we have known and loved for over 2 decades. Always knew this guy was a star, and his swinging rhythm guitar and leads are proof of this. Phil, well, he just owns the guitar. Ever since I had the pleasure to play with him when I was 19 yrs old, he has ALWAYS been one of the most versatile and technical players alive. Seriously, the guy is a fucking juke box machine when it comes to knowing songs! Sean absolutely CRUSHED this song. To say he is unique is an understatement. There is only ONE Sean Killian. Period. The conviction he has when he delivers lyrics is something I have always been in awe of since the first time I heard Eternal Nightmare.

"I feel lucky and grateful to have been a part of this and what we did makes me proud of the Bay Area and the talent it has given the music world. Keeping it positive and keeping it fun."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's IVAN MOODY Reaches End Of His Journey To Learn To Play Guitar (Video)

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's IVAN MOODY Reaches End Of His Journey To Learn To Play Guitar (Video)

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently launched a new video series, "Guitar Zero: Legends Of The Fail", in which singer Ivan Moody embarks on a journey to learn to play guitar. The ninth and final episode can be seen below.

The video description reads as follows: "Ivan's wish to learn to play guitar has led him to quite an interesting journey… and some situations he did not expect. Does he reach his goal… let's find out".

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "F8", was released on February 28. The follow-up to 2018's "And Justice For None" caps a turbulent period for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in which Moody finally got sober after a near-fatal struggle with addiction, while co-founding drummer Jeremy Spencer bowed out of the band due to physical issues.

Much of "F8"'s lyrical content deals with Moody's battle with addiction, its aftermath and his recovery. The singer celebrated two years of sobriety in March.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's spring tour with PAPA ROACH, I PREVAIL and ICE NINE KILLS has been postponed and rescheduled for the fall. The trek was originally due to run from April 8 to May 20, but is now slated to kick off on September 28 in Sunrise, Florida.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has also launched the "Quarantine Theater 2020" series. Taking inspiration from "Mystery Science Theater 3000", it features Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory and bassist Chris Kael offering commentary on the band's past music videos.

AC/DC Launches 'The Story Of Back In Black' Video Series; First Two Episodes Available

AC/DC Launches 'The Story Of Back In Black' Video Series; First Two Episodes Available

ers AC/DC have launched a new video series, "The Story Of Back In Black", as part of the 40th-anniversary celebrations of AC/DC's classic 1980 album "Back In Black". The first two episodes in the series, focusing on the songs "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Hells Bells", can be seen below.

Last December, "Back in Black" was certified by the Recording Industry Association Of America for U.S. shipments of 25 million copies.

"Back in Black" first went platinum in October 1980 and had previously been certified 22 times platinum in December 2007. The RIAA lists "Back In Black" as the fourth biggest-selling album of all time.

On July 25, 1980, AC/DC released "Back In Black" in the U.S., followed by the album's U.K. release on July 31. It was the band's first album without lead singer Bon Scott, who had died a few months earlier after passing out and choking on his own vomit following a long night of drinking.

The group quickly decided to press on and hired Brian Johnson from the band GEORDIE to take over on vocals, and they headed to the Bahamas for about six weeks to do the album. AC/DC had made some serious headway in America before Scott's death, but no one knew how "Back In Black" would be received.

Johnson told The Pulse of Radio that he didn't have a clue how successful "Back In Black" would turn out to be. "I'd just melted me brain in there, and I didn't know if it was good or bad," he said. "That was the first time I'd been in the Bahamas, anyway, or near America, you know, and you (have to) remember, I was just fascinated by the whole culture and all, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing! And (laughs) lucky, really — I was a bit lucky, I think."

"Back In Black" included the singles "You Shook Me All Night Long", which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Back In Black", which peaked at No. 37.

Despite its massive success, it never got higher than No. 4 on the album charts. The band's next album, "For Those About To Rock", reached No. 1.

"Back In Black" was produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange, who went on to produce DEF LEPPARD, FOREIGNER, THE CARS, and BRYAN ADAMS.

In 2012, "Back In Black" was added to The Recording Academy's legendary Grammy Hall Of Fame collection.

AC/DC recently launched a range of new merchandise to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "Back In Black".

Watch THE DEAD DAISIES Perform All Four Songs From 'The Lockdown Sessions' EP

Watch THE DEAD DAISIES Perform All Four Songs From 'The Lockdown Sessions' EP

THE DEAD DAISIES — the hard rock "collective" founded by Australian musician and businessman David Lowy — released a new digital EP, "The Lockdown Sessions", on July 17 via Steamhammer/SPV. The effort contains four acoustic tracks, all of them exclusive to this EP.

Lowy said: "As soon as it had become clear that our tour and album release would have to be postponed until 2021, we recorded these acoustic tracks with our fans in mind. 'The Lockdown Sessions' is our way to stay in touch with everyone despite the global restrictions."

"The Lockdown Sessions" contains four tracks: "Unspoken", "Righteous Days" and an amazing version of the HUMBLE PIE classic "30 Days In The Hole", with these three exclusive unplugged versions also featuring as powerful rock tracks on the upcoming album, "Holy Ground". The EP rounds out with a stripped back version of "Fortunate Son", featuring drummer Deen Castronovo on lead vocals.

A 15-minute video featuring THE DEAD DAISIES' performances of all four songs from "The Lockdown Sessions" EP can be seen below.

"The Lockdown Sessions" unmistakably proves that Glenn Hughes has already added his distinctive sound to THE DEAD DAISIES.

"As we all know, Glenn is a fantastic bassist and vocalist who is rightly referred to as 'The Voice Of Rock,'" Lowy says. "We really enjoyed ourselves with him at the studio and can hardly wait to present the new songs and current lineup live on stage."

"The Lockdown Sessions" track listing:

01. Unspoken (acoustic version)

02. Fortunate Son (live)

03. Righteous Days (acoustic version)

04. 30 Days In The Hole (acoustic version)

"Holy Ground" will be released on January 22, 2021. The album was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with producer Ben Grosse. The follow-up to 2018's "Burn It Down", will be the band's first to feature Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), who joined the group last year as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).

In an interview with "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show" at this past January's NAMM convention in Anaheim, California, Hughes spoke about how he came to be involved with THE DEAD DAISIES. He said: "They wanted someone in, and they were asking me about a year ago if I would be interested in doing this. And I've been doing the 'Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple' [shows] for a couple of years, and I thought it would be appropriate for me to take a break from that and do something other than [that]. And I got together with the guys and we had a play. I've known Doug a long time, as you know. And it just fell together beautifully. It's a beautiful piece of music. I can't wait for people to hear it."

Asked what the new DEAD DAISIES material sounds like, Glenn said: "It's classic rock and it's a groovy album. It's got a lot of melodies to it. It's what you can imagine with me joining them — what could have happened and what has happened. It's a very interesting piece of music."

THE DEAD DAISIES 2020 are:

* Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION) - Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar

* Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO) - Guitar

* David Lowy (MINK, RED PHOENIX) - Guitar

* Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH, HARDLINE) - Drums

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist GILBY CLARKE Covers HEARTBREAKERS' 'Born To Lose' (Video)

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist GILBY CLARKE Covers HEARTBREAKERS' 'Born To Lose' (Video)

rmer GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke has teamed up with bassist EJ Curse and drummer Troy Patrick Farrell to record a cover version of HEARTBREAKERS' "Born To Lose". The track, which was originally released as part of "The Bowery Electric Presents: Live Premiere Series", was produced by Gilby at his Los Angeles recording studio, Redrum Recording, where he's also helmed records for such artists as L.A. GUNS, THE BRONX, BEAT ANGELS, BULLETS AND OCTANE and many more

Clarke recently completed work on his long-awaited new solo album, "The Gospel Truth", due later this year via Golden Robot Records. The disc was produced and written by Gilby at Redrum, and was mixed by Grammy Award winner Chris Lord-Alge and mastered by Maor Appelbaum. Joining Gilby on the LP are Muddy Stardust on bass, Kenny Aronoff (JOHN MELLENCAMP, JOHN FOGERTY, CHICKENFOOT) on drums, along with Matt Starr (ACE FREHLEY, MR. BIG) and Chad Stewart (FASTER PUSSYCAT, L.A. GUNS) on backing vocals.

This past April, Clarke released the official music video for his first single, "Rock N Roll Is Getting Louder". The Christopher C. Pearson-directed clip was shot in Palmdale, California and downtown Los Angeles, while the band performance footage was filmed in Hollywood club Oh My Ribs!

Gilby's live bandmembers Curse and Jimmy D'Anda (BULLETBOYS, GEORGE LYNCH) both appear in the video, along with some great cameos by Slim Jim Phantom (STRAY CATS), Taime Downe (FASTER PUSSYCAT), Jimmy Herald (HILLBILLY HERALD) and Teddy "Zig Zag" Andreadis (GUNS N' ROSES, CAROLE KING, CHUCK BERRY, BO DIDDLEY, ALICE COOPER).

Gilby stated about the track: "The song is about having a rebellious spirit. Rock and roll means many things: rebelling, freedom and being who you are on your own terms — not following whatever's now in vogue. Therefore, 'Rock N Roll Is Getting Louder' means 'I am what I am, I won't change that, and I stand up for things that are important to me, even if it's not popular.'"

When asked how his new music may be different to his previous material, Gilby said: "I don't think it's very different at all. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel. I have found the music that I like as an artist and a musician. It's important that I get better at it and try new things, but I like rock and roll, and loud guitars are good for the soul."

Clarke also discussed his songwriting process, saying: "I always start with a good guitar riff, then add the devil's drumbeat. It's good when you can put some interesting lyrics to it, too. I always try to find a new way of saying something simple. I don't like to complicate my lyrics, but I never duplicate them either."

At last year's NAMM show in in Anaheim, California, Clarke stated about the long delay in getting his new solo album completed: "For me, I can't do a record unless I feel good about the songs. I wanna make a record that I wanna listen to. So, these songs I'm really excited about. They're new songs. It really is classic rock. There's really nothing new on it — it's just a new version of what I like to do, which is loud guitars, man. So, I went in there. I used guys like Kenny Aronoff on drums, Steve Perkins — some really great players. I played all the guitars and did all the singing on it. But I think it's good — I think it's a good fresh approach on classic rock, really."

Clarke replaced founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin in the GUNS lineup in 1991, during the "Use Your Illusion" tour, and stayed with the band for three years. After exiting GUNS N' ROSES, Clarke continued as a producer and solo artist, while also playing in SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA, HEART and other acts.

Clarke released his solo debut, "Pawnshop Guitars", in 1994.

NIGHT IN GALES - Full Show From Wacken Open Air 2019 Available

The clip below features Germany's Night In Gales performing at the Wacken Open Air in 2019. Check out the complete show below.

Setlist:

"Architects of Tyranny"
"Sylphlike"
"Mindspawn"
"The Mortal Soul"
"The Spears Within"
"Razor"
"The Last Sunsets"
"Thy Abyss"
"Autumn Water"
"Intruder"
"Void Venture"
"Raining Blood"

Follow Night In Gales into the “Dawnlight Garden” where the touch of the dark angel’s hand will separate spirit from life. The song is also the title track of their upcoming album and delivers a first glimpse of the new material by the German melodic death metal outfit, while the lyric video allows a close look at the brilliant visual imagery that was crafted by Costin Chioreanu.

Night In Gales open the gates of their Dawnlight Garden on July 24th through Apostasy Records.

An ominous, red dyed horizon recalls Sylphlike, Towards The Twilight or The Last Sunsets – the album that led Night In Gales back to their roots. 2018 marked the return of their initial singer Christian Müller, but the year also saw their rediscovered love for melodic death metal in its initial form, which they delivered with overwhelming enthusiasm and a noticeable (re)connection with their own history.

Dawnlight Garden consistently continues this path and delivers even more multifaceted material which underlines the compositional sophistication of the band. The opener “Atrocity Kings” paves the way for “Beyond The Light” to really explode. But there is always enough space for groove (“Winterspawn”) and semi-acoustic passages (“Kingdom”). The re-recorded “A Spark In The Crimson Eclipse” looks back on the Razor EP which was originally released in 1996 to create another highlight.

The character of the album is perfectly captured in the intense artwork by Costin Chioreanu (At The Gates, Arch Enemy). While the horizon in the background is a nod to the band’s early days, the garden in the foreground symbolizes the here and the now with all its different aspects.

Tracklisting:

"Atrocity Kings"
"Beyond The Light"
"Dawnlight Garden"
"Winterspawn"
"Beasts Leave Tombs Again"
"Kingdom"
"The Spectre Dead"
"A Spark In The Crimson Eclipse"
"Through Dark Decades"
"Choir Of Unlight"
"The Bonebed"

SEBASTIAN BACH To CHRIS JERICHO: 'Your Singing Sucks'

SEBASTIAN BACH To CHRIS JERICHO: 'Your Singing Sucks'

bastian Bach claims that he has been "trying to get a response" from Chris Jericho days after the former SKID ROW frontman accused FOZZY's lead singer of using pre-recorded vocal tracks during live performances.

On Thursday (July 16), Jericho challenged Bach to a "singoff" with "no effects, no tuning, no bullshit" in response to Sebastian's allegation that Chris "mimes to a tape" during FOZZY's live shows. "Bas is a great singer...but I'm better," Chris wrote on Twitter." The wrestler-turned-singer added: "I've never mimed anything ever! I will fucking sing in your face anytime, anyplace dude. I've been a fan & a defender of u since day one...but don't u ever question my rock abilities!" Bach fired back: " You're full of s*** bro. Every clip on the Internet is you miming to a tape. I will sing in your f****** face anytime. Wrestling is not rock and roll. I will show you f****** rock and roll. Check your texts set up The Sing-Off I am ready when you are"

During this past Saturday night's episode of "Saturday Night Special", Jericho's weekly live series which airs on his YouTube channel and Facebook page, Chris ended the show by tackling the chorus to "Youth Gone Wild", SKID ROW's first single from the group's self-titled debut album. Calling it "a tribute to a great band," Jericho sang the lines "They call us problem child / We spend our lives on trial / We walk an endless mile / We are the youth gone wild / We stand and we won't fall / We're one and one for all / The writing's on the wall / We are the youth gone wild" while clearly struggling to hit some of the highest notes. He later posted an extended version of his "Youth Gone Wild" rendition on Twitter, writing in a caption: "Saturday Night Singalong! One of my all time favorite tunes.... @OfficialSkidRow"

Early this morning (Monday, July 20), Bach reacted to Jericho's "Youth Gone Wild" attempt, writing in a since-deleted tweet: "What does someone have to do to get a response out of the most amazing singer of all time @IAmJericho ? I have been trying to get a response from this vocalist who is so much better than I am, just ask him he will tell you" Sebastian also included a screenshot of what appears to be his text messages to Chris which went unanswered. In the texts, Bach writes: "Hey man do you ever suck! Nice video online what a complete joke

"You are one complete talentless f***. Get your own s*** and quit copying mine. Badly

"Your singing sucks. You should stop singing for the benefit of all mankind

"Is this still your number pussy? I accept your challenge to a singing match if you accept my challenge to a whooping your f****** ass match

"Believe me it won't be much of a match unless you bring like a phonebook to stand on or something you fuxkin pussy

"You are such a joke I can't wait to kick the s*** out of you just for fun

"Hey shrimp why don't you text me back you f****** a******?

"Pussy"

When Bach first went public with his Jericho accusation last week, FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward called Sebastian "universally disliked" and said that seeing Bach "publicly go after the only guy that I have ever witness utter a nice word about him is sad."

Sebastian, who has been outspoken about rock bands using pre-recorded backing tracks during live shows, later tried to explain his outburst, writing: "I'm not trying to beat anybody at anything. I'm actually trying to say hey Chris maybe you're right maybe I'll stop singing live and prance around while the tape is playing just like you do Chris. I'm tired of trying so hard it's like beating my head against the wall."

After a self-proclaimed Bach fan called Sebastian "an asshat" on Twitter for firing "the first shots" in his war of words with Jericho, Bach came back with: "Hey man f*** you. I have spent my life learning how to sing live on stage. When someone comes along and mimes to a tape it sucks for all of the rest of us that don't. You want to go see a wrestling match good. Don't call it rock and roll"

Jericho has long been suspected of relying on backing tapes during FOZZY's live performances. When the band played in Canada in November 2018, several concert-goers accused Jericho of singing along to pre-recorded tracks. After a video of FOZZY's Toronto gig surfaced online, Bach weighed in, writing from his personal Facebook account: "Wow he mimes to a tape very well"

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN On Dealing With Coronavirus Crisis: 'I Keep Telling Everyone To Turn To Music As A Salvation'

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's TAYLOR MOMSEN On Dealing With Coronavirus Crisis: 'I Keep Telling Everyone To Turn To Music As A Salvation'

In a new interview with "Whiplash", the KLOS radio show hosted by Full Metal Jackie, THE PRETTY RECKLESS frontwoman Taylor Momsen was asked how the coronavirus crisis has changed her worldview in terms of the things she wants to express through music. She responded (hear audio below): "That's a good question. I don't know. I was so wrapped up in this record, in 'Death By Rock And Roll', before all this started, and we just finished the album before the lockdown. So it's very bizarre to wrap my head around to release music and not be able to complete the circle by playing it live. So I'm not entirely sure. It's a very scary time, it's very unprecedented, and I'm sure it's affected people around the world, literally, in so many ways. I think there's a lot of anxiety and a lot of fear. I keep turning to music and I keep telling everyone to turn to music as a salvation. It's the one thing in my life that has never let me down."

THE PRETTY RECKLESS's fourth album, "Death By Rock And Roll", will be released in early 2021 via Fearless Records in the U.S. and Century Media Records in the rest of the world. The title track was made available in May.

Momsen confirmed in an interview that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello guests on "Death By Rock And Roll". Morello appears on a track called "And So It Went".

Morello joins previously announced guests Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron from SOUNDGARDEN. The song with Cameron and Thayil, called "Only Love Can Save Me Now", was recorded at Seattle's legendary London Bridge Studios, where seminal LPs like PEARL JAM's "Ten" and SOUNDGARDEN's "Louder Than Love" were laid down.

Momsen recently said that she was "devastated" by the death of SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell. THE PRETTY RECKLESS opened for SOUNDGARDEN in Detroit on May 17, 2017, a couple of hours before Cornell apparently committed suicide by hanging. Less than a year later, in April 2018, THE PRETTY RECKLESS's producer Kato Khandwala died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

SEBASTIAN BACH To CHRIS JERICHO: 'Don't Pretend That You Do What I Do'

SEBASTIAN BACH To CHRIS JERICHO: 'Don't Pretend That You Do What I Do'

bastian Bach has continued his Twitter tirade against Chris Jericho over allegations that the FOZZY frontman uses pre-recorded vocal tracks during live performances.

Just hours after Bach initially accused Jericho of "miming to a tape" at FOZZY concerts, the former SKID ROW vocalist defended his position, firing back against several Jericho supporters over their claim that the wrestler-turned-singer performs all of his vocals live.

After one Twitter user took issue with Bach's assertion that Jericho "does not do what I do," Sebastian doubled down, writing: "Yes sing live. He does not do what I do. And wrestling is fake I know it makes you mad"

Bach, who has been outspoken about rock bands using pre-recorded backing tracks during live shows, also responded to FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward, who called Sebastian "universally disliked" and said that seeing Bach "publicly go after the only guy that I have ever witness utter a nice word about him is sad."

Sebastian included a screenshot showing that Ward had apparently blocked him from viewing his tweets, and he wrote in an accompanying message: "So this guy calls me 'sad' + I really would like to know why. I'm not sad at all. I'm happy that you guys get to live your fantasy of rock and roll. But please, don't pretend that u do what I do. Are we supposed to pretend that this is live? Come on man" He also added a link to a Facebook video of a November 2018 FOZZY show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where several concert-goers accused Jericho of singing along to pre-recorded tracks.

Another Twitter user asked Bach why he "won't let it go" and insisted that Sebastian was making himself "look like a bitter prick," to which the rocker responded: "I am a bitter prick. Next tour I will get the tapes out and be a really nice guy. Singing is hard. If you're going to fake it you don't deserve to be in a category with somebody that does it for real"

A few minutes later, a self-proclaimed Bach fan called Sebastian "an asshat" for firing "the first shots" in his war of words with Jericho. This prompted Bach to come back with: "Hey man f*** you. I have spent my life learning how to sing live on stage. When someone comes along and mimes to a tape it sucks for all of the rest of us that don't. You want to go see a wrestling match good. Hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa

If you think that this is live singing I am never going to sing live in concert ever again. This could not be more fake if it was a cartoon https://t.co/VYUZ0272ek

You are completely clueless if you think that any of this is live

Yes I starred in 4 Broadway shows. And one day I plan on being as good a singer as a wrestler ?

About the David Z Foundation:

The David Z Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises money for music education in memory of David Zablidowsky.

"Our mission is to provide young aspiring musicians the proper tools needed to succeed in the industry on a professional and sustainable level. To help accomplish this, we have created the David Z Modern Musician program: an original music curriculum composed of three parts: individual instruction (The Lessons), group performance (The Band) and an industry/business class (The Workshop). The program runs for a full school year and ends with a live performance showcase. The money we raise goes towards maintaining the program year round and offering scholarships to students to off set the cost of tuition. So far we have run the program two years in a row at the Brooklyn College prep Center which focuses on students ages 3-18. The goal this year is to start a DZMM program in LA as well and have them running on both coasts."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD: ENNIO MORRICONE Was 'One Constant Influence On Our Entire Career'

AVENGED SEVENFOLD: ENNIO MORRICONE Was 'One Constant Influence On Our Entire Career'

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has paid tribute to Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, saying his was was "one constant influence" on the band's entire career.

Morricone passed on Monday at the age of 91. According to Morricone's longtime lawyer, the composer died in a Rome hospital of complications following a fall, in which he broke a leg.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD took to Instagram to pay tribute to the music legend, explaining that his influence on the group was "most obvious" in songs such as "Sidewinder" from 2005's "City Of Evil" album, and "Roman Sky" from 2016's "The Stage".

"One constant influence on our entire career would have to be that of Ennio Morricone," AVENGED SEVENFOLD wrote. "He truly did what no others could. He had the ability to define countless important movies by their soundtrack. He was unmatched in his ability. Just this weekend we had his brilliant soundtrack for 'Once Upon A Time In The West' playing on repeat.

"Look no further than 'Sidewinder', 'Dose' and 'Roman Sky' to hear the most obvious influence he had on us.

"He will be missed. His art will be remembered and cherished.

"Rest in Peace."

Morricone composed "The Ecstasy Of Gold", the song from the classic film "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" which has been opening METALLICA live shows since 1983,

Speaking to Kerrang! about the influence of Ennio's work on METALLICA, bassist Robert Trujillo said: "I believe a lot of METALLICA's music is built on layers and chance and taking risks. The compositions of layered guitars; the dynamic of that ingredient is really, really cool and that’s the same thing with classical music. Ennio did it incredibly well and he’s a genius at that.

"I know 'Orion' is a METALLICA piece, but, to me, it has the beauty of an Ennio Morricone composition — the layers and the journey it takes you on, the highs and the lows."

The Italian composer, who scored more than 500 films. won his Oscar for his work on Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" (2015) and also was nominated for his original scores for Terrence Malick's "Days Of Heaven" (1978), Roland Joffe's "The Mission" (1986), Brian De Palma's "The Untouchables" (1987), Barry Levinson's "Bugsy" (1991) and Giuseppe Tornatore's "Malena" (2000).

SEBASTIAN BACH Slams CHRIS JERICHO Over Lip-Syncing Allegations: 'Every Clip On The Internet Is You Miming To A Tape'

SEBASTIAN BACH Slams CHRIS JERICHO Over Lip-Syncing Allegations: 'Every Clip On The Internet Is You Miming To A Tape'

bastian Bach has engaged in a Twitter feud with Chris Jericho over allegations that the FOZZY frontman uses pre-recorded vocal tracks during live performances.

The exchange began on Wednesday (July 15), when one fan commented on the social media platform that Jericho "is starting to look like" the former SKID ROW singer, with Sebastian weighing in: "Every single day for the last two or three years somebody tells me this" After another person told Sebastian, " You partied too much Jericho has you beat", Bach came back with "He definitely does considering that he mimes to a tape". A third fan told Sebastian: "You know [Chris] tours with his band, right? I've seen him live a couple of times. He's not lip syncing", to which, Bach replied: "Cool let's see a clip of that then because every single clip I have seen is Milli vanilli," referring to the duo which infamously had to return their Grammy Awards more than 30 years ago after it was revealed they didn't sing on their album.

A short time later, Jericho, who made his name as a wrestler before starting FOZZY, wrote in a tweet: "I've seen the derogatory comments towards me from somebody I considered to be a friend. So with that in mind, I'll be happy to have a SING OFF w @sebastianbach ! No effects, no tuning, no bullshit. Bas is a great singer...but I'm better. You've got my number dude. Call me." Bach then shot back: "Where is the derogatory comment? All I asked is to see one single clip of you singing live. Every clip on the Internet is you miming to a tape. I will sing in your f****** face anytime. Wrestling is not rock and roll. I will show you f****** rock and roll."

Chris responded: "I've never mimed anything ever! And I don't use *** in a tweet ever. I will fucking sing in your face anytime, anyplace dude. I've been a fan & a defender of u since day one...but don't u ever question my rock abilities! And leave wrestling out of this...I can hit a G4 brah!" Bach then wrote: "You're full of s*** bro. Check your texts set up The Sing-Off I am ready when you are"

Another Jericho fan took the FOZZY vocalist's side, writing: "Take it as a compliment Champion - your singing is so spot on it sounds like the record Red heart", prompting Bach to respond: "That's because the record is fake and the live show is fake"

Yet another person wrote: "Dont eeeeeevvvvverrr question the ayatollah of rock and rolla", which was met with "The Ayatollah of rock and rolla doesn't know anything about rock and rolla" from Bach.

Sebastian, who has been outspoken about rock bands using pre-recorded backing tracks during live shows, then added: "I'm not trying to beat anybody at anything. I'm actually trying to say hey Chris maybe you're right maybe I'll stop singing live and prance around while the tape is playing just like you do Chris. I'm tired of trying so hard it's like beating my head against the wall."

FOZZY guitarist Rich Ward also weighed in on the dispute, tweeting: "Any time I have witnessed Sebastian's name come up in a group setting, the room enthusiastically lines up to say the worst things about him. He's universally disliked, never witnessed a more unifying topic. @IAmJericho has ALWAY come to the guy’s defense and shuts it down. Jericho is loyal and was always quick to defend a guy that he considered a friend. Seeing Sebastian publicly go after the only guy that I have ever witness utter a nice word about him is sad."

When a Twitter user pointed out that Sebastian Bach is "trending" on the platform, Bach wrote: "I don't know why I'm trending I'm just drunk sitting alone in my bed"

Two months ago, Jericho defended singers like Ozzy Osbourne and KISS's Paul Stanley against criticism that they are unable to perform like they did 30 or 40 years ago, telling Australia's Triple M radio station: "Listen, they're in their late 60s, early 70s, whatever it may be — I really don't care at this point. If they're out there playing and doing the best they can, and there's tricks they can use to make it better, if need be…

"Paul Stanley is one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time. Nobody can tell me differently. And that, to me, is enough," he continued. "Ozzy Osbourne — one of the greatest singers of all time. All of these guys — even Paul McCartney is starting to sound a little weathered with his melody lines; that's some high stuff. And you look at a guy like Mick Jagger, and he still sounds pretty much the same, but his melodies were always in the same key; they never really went too high.

"To me, listen, I'm a musician. I get it. I don't care. I'm a fan. But if you're going to a rock and roll show and you're sitting in a crowd live and going, 'Wow, this band sounds like shit,' then maybe you're missing the point of why you're here in the first place. It's easy to watch a YouTube video back and go, 'That didn't sound great.' That's not the point. It's when you're there and you're in the moment and you're enjoying the show and the energy, that's the most important thing."

Every single day for the last two or three years somebody tells me this ?

DAVID ELLEFSON On Upcoming MEGADETH Album: 'It's Gonna Be A Phenomenal Record'

DAVID ELLEFSON On Upcoming MEGADETH Album: 'It's Gonna Be A Phenomenal Record'

bassist David Ellefson recently spoke to 90.3 WMSC FM's "The Metal Teddy Bear Experience" about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's follow-up to 2016's "Dystopia" album. He said (hear audio below): "The MEGADETH record is underway. That's about, really, all I can say about that. But at least it's underway.

"I went down [to Nashville] in late May. Me and Dirk [Verbeuren, MEGADETH drummer] went down there to do drums and bass [for the new LP]. We've had the stuff demoed — we've been writing it and tweaking it — so the songs were in good shape. So it was nice that we had time to get 'em ready, and then go in and record. We were there for about 11 days, I guess. It's gonna be a phenomenal record."

MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine recently told SiriusXM's Jose Mangin that the upcoming album will be "up there with 'Countdown [To Extinction]', 'Rust In Peace' and probably 'Peace Sells'" and "Dystopia".

The early sessions for MEGADETH's new LP took place last year with co-producer Chris Rakestraw, who previously worked on "Dystopia".

MEGADETH's new effort will be the first to feature drummer Verbeuren (ex-SOILWORK), who joined the band four years ago.

Guitarist Kiko Loureiro made his recording debut with MEGADETH on "Dystopia", whose title track was honored in the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

As previously reported, MEGADETH's North American tour with LAMB OF GOD, TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES has been rescheduled for 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

ANTHRAX's CHARLIE BENANTE On 30th-Anniversary 'Persistence Of Time' Deluxe Edition: 'It Just Sounds Awesome'

ANTHRAX's CHARLIE BENANTE On 30th-Anniversary 'Persistence Of Time' Deluxe Edition: 'It Just Sounds Awesome'

On August 21, 2020, 30 years to the day after its initial launch, thrash/metal-masters ANTHRAX will celebrate with the release of the deluxe anniversary edition of its fifth studio album, the gold-certified "Persistence Of Time", produced by ANTHRAX and Mark Dodson. Available exclusively on disc and vinyl, the CD package will include two CDs and one DVD, the vinyl edition offers four LPs, as well as revised cover art that reflects what had been the album's original visual concept.

Speaking to "The Beyond The Blast Doors" network, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante stated about the "Persistence Of Time" reissue (hear audio belo): "The actual record is remastered, and it sounds so good. Everything that was lacking throughout the years now has been recaptured. So all of the low end, the punch, the highs and everything, it's all recaptured the way it should always be. It just sounds awesome. Then there's a bunch of bonus stuff on it, like songs that started from a riff, and then it goes into a rehearsal, and then it goes into tracking it. It's just like a kind of evolution of some of the songs. There's some live stuff on it, there's some guide vocals tracks that Scott [Ian, guitar] would do a guide vocal. And then there's a whole video of us writing it and demoing it and footage from us with IRON MAIDEN on tour. It's great — it's really great. And then the front cover is a different cover — it's the original idea that I had with a melting clock."

As with ANTHRAX's previous anniversary deluxe editions, Benante shepherded the one for "Persistence Of Time". Disc One is comprised of the 11-track album, fully-remastered by Paul Logus (who mastered ANTHRAX's "Worship Music" and "For All Kings", the "Anthems" EP, and the DVDs "Kings Among Scotland" and "Chile On Hell"). Disc One also features a special "bonus B-side" version of "I'm The Man" from 1990 that leans more hip-hop than rock, and a live version of "Time" that was recorded at Michigan's Palace of Auburn Hills in 1991. The final two songs on Disc One, as well as all nine tracks on Disc Two, are special recordings from "Charlie's Stash," an incomparable wealth of ANTHRAX music from the band's rehearsals, writing sessions, preproduction, and live performances that Benante has recorded over the past 40 years and has been kept safely filed away. These recordings will put listeners "in the room" with the band, privy to the evolution of the songs on "Persistence Of Time", starting with Benante's original riffs and demos for the songs, moving on to Frank Bello, Scott Ian, Joey Belladonna, Dan Spitz and Benante shaping the songs in rehearsal, then into preproduction, and finally into the recording studio.

The 40-minute "guerilla-style" DVD was shot when ANTHRAX was on tour with IRON MAIDEN in 1991 and features live footage of Benante taking over the drums for IRON MAIDEN's Nicko McBrain, as well as backstage and dressing room footage with members of both bands. The piece wraps with Benante, Bello, and Ian joining IRON MAIDEN on stage for the final song of the night, "Sanctuary".

With revealing liner notes written by Scott Ian that pull back the curtain on some of the incidents that fueled the album's lyrical content, the artwork showcases a selection of mementos from the "Persistence Of Time" cycle: script pages from the band's 1992 "My Dinner With Anthrax" episode of the TV sitcom "Married With Children", band photos and magazine covers, backstage passes, and an assortment of vintage promo items. Also, the deluxe package's cover art has been revised.

Explained Benante, who also oversees all of ANTHRAX's artwork: "We had been a band for only about five years, but so much had been and continued to be crammed into those few years, and we realized we couldn't stop time, it was just persistent. Simultaneously, I was at the height of my Salvador Dali phase, I was just absorbed in his art, and I wanted to tie the two together — Salvador Dali and time. I loved what [artist] Don Brautigam did with the original cover, but for this deluxe edition, I wanted it the way I had originally seen the cover in my head — with the clock melting, so that's what we did."

"Recording the vocals for this album was a great experience," said vocalist Joey Belladonna. "I really liked working with Steve Thompson and Mark Barbiero. Everything came together nicely. We all became good friends. And it was great to work in Manhattan again, especially at Electric Lady Studios. That place has such an aura, recording in the same place where Jimi Hendrix, THE ROLLING STONES, David Bowie and LED ZEPPELIN did. It was a really cool experience."

"One of the things I'll never forget from the 'Persistence Of Time' tours," added Frank Bello, "was when we played the songs 'Time' and 'Got The Time' live. We had this big clock on our stage, the 'Persistence Of Time' clock, and the hands on this clock went around and around while we played the songs 'Time' and 'Got The Time'. Today, something like that would be motorized, but back in 1990, it had to be done manually using a hand crank on the back of the clock. My bass tech from that time, Troy, it was his job to keep those hands turning during those two songs, throughout the entire songs. I mean, what a workout that guy got from turning that crank."

"It was a weird time for us for a number of reasons," added Benante, "but at the same time, a lot of great things happened. We did 'Married With Children', we toured with SLAYER and MEGADETH on the 'Clash Of The Titans' tour, and we recorded 'Bring The Noise' with PUBLIC ENEMY, and that turned everything around."

The LP once again features cover art by Melody Myers, who has previously worked with ALTITUDES AND ATTITUDE and ESCAPE THE FATE, among others.

ELLEFSON, featuring Ellefson on bass, with vocalist Thom Hazaert, guitarists Andy Martongelli and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (SONS OF APOLLO, YES, GUNS N' ROSES), and drummer Paolo Caridi, will be joined by a laundry list of legendary guests, including:

* Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX)

* Eddie Ojeda (TWISTED SISTER)

* Brandon Yeagley (CROBOT)

* Dirk Verbeuren (MEGADETH)

* Frank Hannon and Troy Lucketta (TESLA)

* Mark Slaughter (SLAUGHTER)

* Jason McMaster (DANGEROUS TOYS, ex-WATCHTOWER, EVIL UNITED)

* Greg Handevidt (KUBLAI KHAN, ex-MEGADETH)

* Chuck Behler (ex-MEGADETH)

* Gus G. (FIREWIND, OZZY OSBOURNE)

* John Aquilino (ICON)

* Doro Pesch

* Dave Alvin (WHITE TRASH)

* Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-MEGADETH, ex-Y&T, ex-SUICIDAL TENDENCIES)

* Andrew Freeman (LAST IN LINE)

* Jacob Bunton (Mick Mars)

* DEAD BY WEDNESDAY

Produced by Ellefson and Hazaert, with Martongelli, and engineers Alessio Garavello, Matt LaPlant (NONPOINT, LIL' JON, SKINDRED), and John Aquilino, and mixed by Alessio Garavello, Randy Burns, and more, the process is described by Ellefson as a collaborative tribute, and a loving homage, to some of his favorite artists.

You can pre-order now on CD, LP and cassette, or in a deluxe bundle with an exclusive t-shirt.

Ellefson says: "Before any of us started writing our own songs, we all began playing cover songs by our heroes during our formative years as musicians. So it's fun to go back in time and revisit those songs which helped us to become the artists we are today, especially when, ironically, many of those artists have now become peers and friends.

"During the process of recording some covers for B-sides and bonus tracks for the upcoming ELLEFSON solo LP, Thom and I just said, 'This is a blast. Let's just do a whole album of covers.' Literally, within two weeks, we had the songs recorded, and began calling our friends to join us, many of whom we had just performed with on the Megacruise back in October. From there, the album just fell into place."

He continues: "A lot of our buddies have been playing covers and quarantine jams on the Internet during the pandemic, so this is really just an extension of that, but we took it the next level and actually recorded a full studio album. We've been working remotely anyway, as we're all over the globe, so it was easy to incorporate some guests jumping in with some outstanding performances of their own. It's been a really fun nod to making great music with our friends, who are kick-ass players, and many legends in their own right, which is the whole reason we got into this in the first place."

Says Hazaert: "It's all songs and artists that really mutually influenced both myself and David, especially a lot of early 'metal' and harder classic rock. Some stuff I picked, some stuff he picked, but for the most part is was all artists that we both loved. What's funny, as there's a bit of an age gap, we were sometimes more influenced by different eras of the same bands. But it was really him saying, 'Let's do this song,' and me saying, 'Yes!!! And let's do this song.' And before we knew it, we had over 15 songs. And it's a lot of album tracks, deep cuts, early tracks, stuff people might not expect, which was what was so fun."

He adds: "It was also great that we were able to work in a lot of nods to David's history, getting Chuck Behler to play with us, bringing in original MEGADETH guitarist Greg Handevidt to play on 'Love Me Like A Reptile', a song they used to play in cover bands together before they moved to L.A. (which we wrote about in 'More Life With Deth'), and Randy Burns is going to mix a track or two. As a singer, these are literally bands I've listened to, and covered all my life, and for me, getting to play with Eddie Ojeda, the TESLA guys, Charlie Benante, Jason McMaster, Mark Slaughter, etc, and sing these songs that mean so much to me. I mean, literally, the entire record is my bucket list of people I'd love to play with, and some of my favorite bands. So, it's truly an honor to put together something so fun, and really as effortless as this was. It truly is a love letter to rock n' roll, an homage to what made us, musically, who we are today."

2019 saw the release of Ellefson's "More Life With Deth" memoir, co-written with Hazaert, which led to the pair collaborating on the ELLEFSON compilation release "Sleeping Giants", released as a companion album to the book. Ellefson and Hazaert followed up the release of "Sleeping Giants" with an extensive U.S. and European tour, dubbed "More Live With Deth", with HATCHET guitarist Clayton Cagle, as well as FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's Steve Conley, stepping in on second guitar in the U.S., including several now-legendary shows featuring MEGADETH alumni Chuck Behler and Chris Poland.

The European "More Live With Deth" tour saw the permanent addition of guitarist Andy Martongelli and drummer Paolo Caridi into the recording lineup, as well as the return of Bumblefoot to the fold, and ELLEFSON was born. March 2020 brought the release of the single "Simple Truth", which was premiered on SiriusXM by Eddie Trunk, followed in May by the release of their re-imagined Post Malone cover "Over Now", both of which garnered national airplay.

ELLEFSON is set to tentatively release its debut full-length studio LP in spring 2021.

DREAM THEATER's JORDAN RUDESS Pays Musical Tribute To ENNIO MORRICONE

DREAM THEATER's JORDAN RUDESS Pays Musical Tribute To ENNIO MORRICONE

DREAM THEATER keyboardist Jordan Rudess has paid tribute to Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, saying he "left us with some of the must beautiful music this planet has ever heard."

Morricone passed on July 6 at the age of 91. According to Morricone's longtime lawyer, the composer died in a Rome hospital of complications following a fall, in which he broke a leg.

Rudess has uploaded a video of him performing some of the Morricone's compositions, and he included the following message: "Here is my tribute to Ennio Morricone- who left us with some of the must beautiful music this planet has ever heard. May his melodies bring him directly to a special place in heaven."

MARDUK Guitarist On Whether He Owns Pieces Of MAYHEM Singer DEAD's Brain And Skull: 'That's Old News'

MARDUK Guitarist On Whether He Owns Pieces Of MAYHEM Singer DEAD's Brain And Skull: 'That's Old News'

MARDUK guitarist and founding member Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson confirmed several years ago that he owns pieces of MAYHEM vocalist Per "Dead" Ohlin's brain and skull, adding yet another layer to one of black metal's most infamous and enduring stories. MAYHEM's reputation has been brought back into light thanks in part to Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund's recent film adaption of Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind's 1998 book "Lords Of Chaos: The Bloody Rise Of The Satanic Metal Underground". Both the book and movie chronicle the early 1990s Norwegian black metal scene that became notorious for its church burnings and murder.

Ohlin committed suicide by shotgun blast in 1991, leaving behind a gruesome scene that was captured in a widely circulated photograph taken by MAYHEM guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and later used for the band's "Dawn Of The Black Hearts" bootleg live album. Norwegian black metal legend has it that Euronymous (who was murdered two years later by BURZUM's Varg Vikernes) sent fragments of Dead's skull and brain matter to various members of the black metal scene whom he liked and respected, with Håkansson being one of them. Ohlin, who was the only Swedish member of MAYHEM, befriended Håkansson, a fellow Swede, several months before his death.

Håkansson was asked in a recent interview by Agoraphobic News (video below) to set the story straight on whether he actually owns pieces of Dead's brain and skull. "That's old news," he said. "[There's] too much written about it. It's become like a soap opera. People should leave it be. Whatever people call it, I find it really ridiculous, everything around it."

During the same interview, Håkansson was asked to explain MARDUK's "Blood Fire Death" album trilogy that features 1998's "Nightwing", 1999's "Panzer Division Marduk" and 2001's "La Grande Danse Macabre".

"'Blood Fire Death' is a theme that we are close to in our music and our spirit," he said. "We decided to do three loosely based themed albums on it. 'Blood Fire Death' is an old tribute to BATHORY and we did blood, which was 'Nightwing'. We did 'Panzer', which was fire, and the 'La Grande' album, which was death. It's the foundation that's very much the essence of this band and our lives. It's still very active, if I should say so."

MARDUK's latest studio album, "Viktoria", was released last June via Century Media Records.

Here Is The First Taste Of BUTCHER BABIES' Fourth Studio Album

Here Is The First Taste Of BUTCHER BABIES' Fourth Studio Album

ffstage With DWP" has uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions for BUTCHER BABIES' upcoming fourth studio album. Check out the video below.

BUTCHER BABIES wrote: "Liking what you're hearing so far? We've got a shit ton more where that came from! Thank you @DannyWimmerPres for unleashing a small taste of BB4"

This past April, BUTCHER BABIES singer Heidi Shepherd told ELUVEITIE's "Corona Talk", about her band's plans for the follow-up to "Lilith", which was released in October 2017 via Century Media: "We have a new album ready, and we were actually supposed to release a single. We are waiting for the right timing. Because everything was supposed to happen this coming week, and we kind of stopped everything once we knew that the tour was being postponed. They're gonna service these songs to radio, and it's kind of hard to service songs to radio if we are not on tour."

According to Heidi, BUTCHER BABIES are "in a really weird spot" at the moment because the band doesn't have a label home following its split with Century Media "a year or so ago."

"We were gonna do a lot of this stuff kind of independently for a minute in hopes of bartering a better deal somewhere," she explained. "And it doesn't really serve us right to release something and then who knows if labels are even gonna be looking to sign at that time.

"The point of releasing just the single on its own was to kind of be able to talk about our deal with the right label to release the whole album on," she added. "So, we'll see. We have a lot of discussion to be had with our management team about it."

Heidi went on to say that "it was a hard decision to part ways with Century Media. Here in the U.S., the label doesn't exactly exist much here anymore," she said. "And so it was a really difficult decision. We were with them for our entire career; we've been a band for 10 years. It just wasn't working here in the States. But we do love our Century Media family.

"We'll see what happens," she continued. "I don't know. I'm sad and I feel a little bit discouraged, but at the same time, I know that things will turn out. And we're all in the same boat [due to the coronavirus crisis]. [Laughs] That's one thing I have to keep telling myself — we're all in this together; we're all in the same boat."

"Lilith" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marked BUTCHER BABIES' recording debut with drummer Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner in 2016.

In July 2019, longtime BUTCHER BABIES bassist Jason Klein announced his departure from the band. He has since been replaced by Ricky Bonazza.

Watch NICKELBACK Perform Quarantine Version Of 'Rockstar'

Watch NICKELBACK Perform Quarantine Version Of 'Rockstar'

BACK frontman Chad Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake recently performed "Rockstar" in socially distanced fashion for a live video which has now been uploaded to the band's YouTube channel. You can check it out below.

As previously reported, NICKELBACK drummer Daniel Adair is recovering from recent surgery for radial tunnel syndrome, a condition in which the radial nerve is pinched when passing through a tunnel near the elbow.

Adair revealed the news about the surgery on May 8, writing: "Over the past several years I have been experiencing increased difficulty with control in my right hand on the drums. After seeing many teachers/specialists and physicians, one of them finally diagnosed the cause."

He added: "Luckily I got minor surgery right before the Covid outbreak happened. They just cut some muscle away and let the nerve breath again. I've healed fine and am basically learning how to use my right hand! It's very exciting though, it's amazing what one nerve can change. So, personally it's a great time for me to be in isolation and get my chops together."

Peake said in April that a documentary on NICKELBACK — which has been in the works for at least a couple of years — is "very close to being released."

Before the pandemic hit, NICKELBACK was supposed to hit the road this summer to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the "All The Right Reasons" album. The tour has since been canceled.

(HED) P.E. Announces Twelfth Studio Album 'Class Of 2020'

(HED) P.E. Announces Twelfth Studio Album 'Class Of 2020'

.E. will release its twelfth studio album, "Class Of 2020", on August 21 via Suburban Noize Records. The date also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the group's breakthrough LP, "Broke".

On "Class Of 2020", (HED) P.E. gets back to the raw essentials, utilizing old-school punk-rock guitar tones and aggressive, unfiltered vocal stylings at the core of their trademark sound. Longtime fans will find that "Class Of 2020" is a return to the classic sound of early (HED) P.E. albums.

"We were on the road in the middle of a tour when the COVID-19 pandemic hit full force," comments frontman Jared Gomes. "Like everyone else on the planet, we were faced with some unprecedented challenges. As a small business owner of an independent band, I was faced with an additional set of challenges with the tour being canceled and making it back home from Rhode Island to Idaho. When I got home, I immediately got inspired creatively and hit the studio to smash out this record. For this one, we took it all back to our roots with a back-to-basics approach to try and capture that true G-Punk sound of our earlier albums."

In an effort to bring "Class Of 2020" around full circle and connect it with (HED) P.E.'s impressive back catalog, the album cover is an homage to the group's breakthrough album "Broke", which celebrates its 20th anniversary a day after the new studio album is released. While planning to the milestone anniversary for (HED) P.E., Jared was able to connect with former members DJ Product and original guitarist Chad "Chizad" Benekos and rekindle their creative flame. DJ Product created artwork for the "Class Of 2020" album and added his trademark scratching over some tracks, while original (HED) P.E. guitarist Chizad blessed the band with a blazing solo on "Greedy Girl". The unholy union that many fans never thought possible came together to connect the past and present incarnations of (HED) P.E. and to enhance "Class Of 2020" in a meaningful way.

When discussing the album, Gomes talks about the moniker "Class Of 2020" having dual meaning for him and the band. "I had the title 'Class Of 2020' as a working title for some time now," he explains. "We had made hoodies with the 'Class Of 2020' on them, but it was originally intended to be a statement about the band being here 20 years later. A whole new class of (HED) P.E., so to speak. Once the pandemic broke out, this title took on a new profound meaning. The Class Of 2020 never really graduated. The Class Of 2020 will go down in history for several different reasons."

(HED) P.E. is the pioneer of the G-Punk sound, which fuses together punk-rock, metal, hip-hop and reggae. The band has toured the world for 20 years sharing the stage with the likes of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, KORN, TECH N9NE, TOOL as well as the original BLACK SABBATH on the iconic Ozzfest tour. (HED) P.E. experienced a creative resurgence after signing with Suburban Noize Records in the early 2000s and was instrumental in developing the booming underground scene.

VIMIC Frontman KALEN CHASE Releases Music Video For 'Good Things' Solo Single

VIMIC Frontman KALEN CHASE Releases Music Video For 'Good Things' Solo Single

rontman Kalen Chase has released the official music video for his new solo single, "Good Things", featuring Brian Viglione of THE DRESDEN DOLLS on drums. Check it out below.

"The inspiration for 'Good Things' was just one of those magic moments where I was in a bad mood, and my wife said something like, 'Y'know, there's good things happening,' and I said 'Well, they're not happening now,' and walked away," Kalen told American Songwriter. "That's where the line of 'good things are happening somewhere, but not happening here today' came from, then I did my usual thing of writing filler."

Chase is a rare breed. Born in Southern California and growing up in Washington state until his dream of becoming a lumberjack were dashed to the ground, this singer, songwriter, guitar-player, and producer has toured the world with several major performing acts.

In 2006, Kalen joined KORN on tour, primarily on backing vocals, and can be heard and seen in the "MTV Unplugged (Live)" release in 2007 where he was featured playing an exotic array of instruments. He remained with KORN — often seen as The White Rabbit — until 2008.

While working with KORN, Kalen fronted the band THE CHANGING, where he collaborated again with Jonathan Davis on single "Jerry Bruckheimer". His career in metal would continue as the lead vocalist for the band SUPERFIX, before joining forces with Joey Jordison (formerly of SLIPKNOT) as the lead vocalist for VIMIC in 2016.

Now, Kalen has embarked on a new path, building upon his singer-songwriter roots, hard rock persona, and production experience to create a sound of his own.

Chase originals "While You Hide, Dear God" and "All In All" can be found on collaboration project "Sad Atoms Presents Hifi Americana", released in March 2020. "When The Sun Comes Up", an impromptu acoustic single also released in March 2020, was written to inspire a little hope in the madness as quarantine began to set in.
