TOXIC HOLOCAUST - Veteran Thrash Act Signs With eOne; New Album Due This YearPortland, Oregon-based thrash band Toxic Holocaust, led by frontman Joel Grind, has signed a worldwide record deal with Entertainment One (eOne) with plans to release a new album later this year.
"I am proud to announce that not only is the new album finished but also that I have joined the roster over at eOne...and I am in good company," says Grind.
“The entire team is very excited to have such an influential band joining the roster," says SVP of Rock and Metal, Scott Givens. "Entertainment One’s commitment to metal remains steadfast and ongoing.”
Toxic Holocaust will be celebrating their twentieth anniversary this year noting their accomplishments and achievements since the band’s inception in 1999. Grind continues, "starting in 1999, Toxic Holocaust released its first demo. In 1999 Thrash Metal was about as 'uncool' as you could get. Struggling to find other band members and given the rural location, I forged on as a solo project."
"New releases saw Toxic signing with a few noteworthy labels, touring, and spreading the music around the world. After various lineups and incarnations throughout the years, I have decided to come full circle for this 20th-anniversary era and release an album going back to solo project roots. This new album features me playing and recording everything just like the early days. Prepare for the next chapter."
The yet to be titled new album is due out later this year and will be the follow up to Chemistry Of Consciousness (2013), which Metal Injection called “trenchant and unapologetic in its lack of versatility, this is a bottled up riot distilled into musical form.” MetalSucks noted that the band sounded “more twisted and pissed off than ever before.” New Noise Magazine went as far as to say that “if we were to comprise a modern-day 'Big Four' Toxic Holocaust would certainly be on the bill.”
The band plans on hitting the road in support of the new LP later this year and have just wrapped a short run of west coast dates with Integrity. The band will play the Rickshaw Theater in Vancouver, BC on May 25 and the Rock AL Paraque Festival on June 30 in Bogota, Columbia.
Toxic Holocaust mutated into existence in 1999, when Joel Grind merged his love for classic punk and metal into his ideal band. Like his influences: Bathory, Venom, English Dogs, Possessed, and Broken Bones, Toxic Holocaust featured blazing riffs, gravel-throated vocals, and a deadly fixation on the evil in man and a post-apocalyptic world. Grind wrapped all of these elements up with a DIY attitude.

Which TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS-Era JUDAS PRIEST Song Would He Like To See ROB HALFORD Sing?Former JUDAS PRIEST frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens, who recorded two studio albums with the band before PRIEST reunited with Rob Halford in 2003, was asked by the "Focus On Metal" podcast which songs from his era of the group he would like to hear Rob perform live with PRIEST.
"I think Rob… So many of the songs he would sound so good on," Tim said. "And it would be nice, really, because it was a big song live, I think 'Burn In Hell' would be a great one for Rob to do, because it was one of our more popular ones. And on 'Demolition', 'Bloodsuckers', which was about the court case that they had, would be a good one. But I think 'Burn In Hell' would be a perfect one to stick in there at a show or two just for the fact of a little nod to that era. And I also think Rob would sing it freakin' unbelievable."
This past January, Owens praised Halford, saying that he has been impressed with Halford's performances on the "Firepower" tour.
"I think Rob's probably singing better now than he has in a long, long time," Tim said. "He sounds absolutely phenomenal. And it's great to hear some of these classic songs that he's singing on stage. That's a great thing… Like I said, Rob is singing so good now — he really is. And he looks good, and I think he feels good."
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 and appeared on 1997's "Jugulator" and 2001's "Demolition" albums.
The Ohio-based singer recently told "Talking Metal" that JUDAS PRIEST's management requested that he stop using artwork related to his time with the group to promote his solo shows.
Earlier this year, Owens defended Downing over the comments the ex-PRIEST guitarist made about his former bandmates in his recently released autobiography, explaining that K.K. is "just telling the truth."
Owens currently tours the world as a solo artist and performs as the lead singer of several bands, including SPIRITS OF FIRE, CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED, A NEW REVENGE, DIO DISCIPLES and THE THREE TREMORS. Additionally, the movie "Rock Star" (Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Aniston) was loosely based on Owens's time in JUDAS PRIEST. 2

DAVID LEE ROTH Mourns Loss Of Beloved DogVAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth has recorded a message for the readers of the Van Halen News Desk about his dog Russ, thanking the fans for their kind words in the wake of the dog's passing.
The 12-year-old Australian cattle dog regularly appeared in Roth's blogs and accompanied the singer to every city VAN HALEN performed in on the last two tours, including Japan and Australia. In addition, his bark was immortalized in the track "HoneyBabySweetieDoll" on VAN HALEN's last album, "A Different Kind Of Truth".
At the of end of his life, Russ was stricken with terrible arthritis in all four limbs, to the point where he could not even move.
VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
The trek was VAN HALEN's first since an aborted North American run three years earlier in support of its then-new studio album, "A Different Kind Of Truth".
Roth recently launched Ink The Original, a skin-care line specifically made to preserve, protect, and highlight tattoos and keep them from fading. 3

IMONOLITH Featuring Members Of DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, THREAT SIGNAL And STRAPPING YOUNG LAD Complete Recordings For Debut AlbumImonolith, the new metal powerhouse featuring vocalist Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea), drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project), guitarist Brian Waddell (Devin Townsend Project), bassist Byron Stroud (Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory), and second guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods Of Mayhem, Noise Therapy), have issued the following update:
"The debut Imonolith record has been officially recorded. We finished up the last bit of overdubs this week. Kai was finishing up his parts at his home studio. Jason Van Poederooyen has already begun the mixing process and said it’s sounding BIG! He's very excited about all the source sounds we recorded. He's focused on getting a big, clear and punchy mix. Again, no samples, auto-tune or plug-ins for this record. We're going at it naturally on every instrument and we couldn't have a better guy doing it! Go JVP!!! More updates about the recording, the release and more soon."
Imonolith made their entrance with a brand new official single, “Hollow”, available to stream/download.
A video for "Hollow" can be seen below. The single can also be streamed/purchased here.
“Hollow” serves as the perfect introduction to Imonolith, a band whose mission is simple: to write the heaviest riffs, the biggest hooks, and most monstrous grooves. Given the impressive pedigree of each player, they do exactly this and more.
Recorded and produced by Brian Howes and Jay Van Poederooyen (Nickelback, Chris Cornell, Airbourne, Hinder, Daughtry) at Van Howes Studios in Los Angeles, California, “Hollow” is immediately setting the bar high and the best is yet to come.
The band has checked in with the following update:
"The majority of the debut Imonolith album has been recorded! It's sonically sounding incredible and the songs got way more interesting with the producing guidance of Jason Van Poederooyen. There are still some odds and ends we need to do and then we're on to mixing the album!
We would like to thanks Jason Van Poederooyen for taking our sound to another level with his producing and engineering skills. We can't wait to hear this album mixed by him. Everything is natural, so, no DI's on guitars and bass, no auto-tune on vox, and no samples on the drums. We actually recorded the drums to 2" tape, to get the biggest, punchiest sound possible and we think JVP definitely accomplished that!
We would like to thank everyone at the Armoury Studios and at The Beatlab Studio for the amazing recording experiences. Both studios have top notch gear and staff. We couldn't have been more happy with the studios we chose to record in.
Lastly, thanks to all of you who follow us, for your patience and support. We hope the wait will be worth it for you all. Back to recording...."
Imonolith was officially formed in February 2018 by drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen and guitarist Brian Waddell, although the pair started writing their own brand of heavy music in 2015 whilst playing together in the Devin Townsend Project. RVP and Waddell then went on to recruit vocalist Jon Howard, bassist Byron Stroud, and second guitarist Kai Huppunen, completing a fearsome line-up. The Canadian quintet has since written a mass of highly diverse material, which appeals to everyone from the metalhead to the radio rock fan, and everyone in between.
Since teasing demos and video clips online, Imonolith have amassed a dedicated legion of supporters worldwide, and with the release of the new single, their following is set to expand by the thousands. With their first run of shows throughout Canada announced and big international plans in the pipeline, 2019 is set to be a huge year for Imonolith.

NORTHLANE To Release 'Alien' Album In AugustSydney, Australia metallers NORTHLANE will release their fifth studio album, "Alien", on August 2 via UNFD.
For a band that has traditionally focused on wider issues in the outside world, "Alien" is easily the most personal statement of NORTHLANE's career.
"I was raised in hell but I made it out," says NORTHLANE vocalist Marcus Bridge. "Raised in a place I shouldn't have been, and no child should have been. But I've been able to break free."
Remarkably, there is hope to be found, particularly on first single "Bloodline". Listen to the song and watch the video below.
"'Bloodline' was one of the first songs that came about in the writing process for the album," says Bridge. "When we were trying to decide what we wanted to write about, we decided early on that we wanted to keep the album pretty personal. I wanted to tell the stories of my upbringing and the ups and downs that come along with that."
The singer adds: "It talks about that idea of growing up in a broken home despite all odds and what might be expected of someone who grows up like that. You are able to be what people think of you and break out of that spiral, that terrible world. For me, that's a mix of telling the story simple, but then it also tells some parts of my story in really fine detail. For example, the second verse goes into a lot of moments that I actually remember growing up and these landmarks — all these things I remember seeing. This song is a perfect way to sum up the album and also be the first toe in the water to be able to tell this story."
Once again, NORTHLANE teamed up with director Jason Eshraghian, who they've been collaborating with since 2014, for the video. Eshraghian is best known for his cinematic use of visual effects and layered storytelling. The video follows the abusive relationship between a father and his son. Bridge says: "It was a pretty clear choice to work with Jason, who has done all our videos since I've joined the band."
Bridge continues: "We've grown as a band together with Jason. He understands the stories we’re trying to tell through our videos. When it came down to the more personal subject, I don't think it would have been possible to do it with someone we hadn't worked with before because I don't know if I would have felt comfortable having someone that we hadn't worked with before telling this story and someone that doesn't really know me and know how I want to tell this story. Jason delivered again, and this video is one of my favorite videos that I have ever done. It goes into some fine detail once again about that environment of growing up around parents who use drugs, violent parents and all that stuff that a lot of people do deal with that maybe don't feel comfortable talking about. This video is going to make you feel pretty uncomfortable, but I think it's a story that isn't really told often enough."
While some longtime listeners might assume that the title "Alien" is a continuation of the space and futuristic themes that have characterized previous NORTHLANE albums, it's instead a reflection of the alienation Bridge felt as a child "who grew up in a weird, unusual household and who was bullied at school because of it."
Produced by the band itself, the album was recorded at Chris Blancato's studio in Sydney, where NORTHLANE recorded their first EP, 2010's "Hollow Existence". Bridge did vocals at Sydney's Electric Sun Studios, where the quintet made its 2011 debut album, "Discoveries".
For a band marking its tenth anniversary in 2019, "Alien" is a bold leap forward; the work of a group fighting its way out of a corner by moving forward rather than looking back. Their previous three albums may have debuted in the Top 5 in Australia — with "Node" landing at No. 1 before going on to win an ARIA Award for "Best Hard Rock Or Heavy Metal Album", an accolade also awarded to "Mesmer" — but NORTHLANE is in no mood to play it safe.
"Alien" track listing:
01. Details Matter
02. Bloodline
03. 4D
04. Talking Heads
05. Freefall
06. Jinn
07. Eclipse
08. Rift
09. Paradigm
10. Vultures
11. Sleepless
Those eager to see NORTHLANE live won't have to wait long. They will embark on a North American headline run throughout August and September with ERRA, CURRENTS and CRYSTAL LAKE. October will see them tour New Zealand before returning to Australian home soil for their national headline tour supported by COUNTERPARTS, SILENT PLANET and VOID OF VISION. NORTHLANE's European headline tour in November and December is supported by SILENT PLANET and VOID OF VISION.

ALLEGAEON – “Parthenogenesis” Guitar Playthrough VideoIn the video below, published by Guitar World, Greg Burgess of Allegaeon performs "Parthenogenesis" from their new album, Apoptosis.
The album can be ordered here in the following formats:
- jewelcase-CD
- opaque grey vinyl (US retail exclusive - limited to 500 copies)
- black / white A/B side vinyl (US webstore exclusive - limited to 250 copies)
- oxblood / milky clear A/B side vinyl (US webstore exclusive - limited to 250 copies)
- clear w/ black smoke vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- silver w/ oxblood splatter vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- transparent purple w/ white and black splatter vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
Tracked at Flatline Audio in Denver with long-serving producer Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage), Apoptosis is Allegaeon's fifth full-length, and the first to feature bassist Brandon Michael. "Musically, Brandon brings a huge new dimension," vocalist Riley McShane enthuses. "He has this wide breadth of music knowledge and stylistic proficiency that he draws from with excellent taste, and this makes a lot of the songs on 'Apoptosis' come to life."
The record also features a guest appearance by classical guitarist Christina Sandsengen, who duets with guitarist Greg Burgess on "Colors Of The Currents". "On this record, I was more open to new ideas that we might not have used in past," states guitarist Michael Stancel. "Rather than deleting something because 'it's not Allegaeon-y enough', I would take a step back and see if that idea fit the song and decide if it was worth keeping. With that mentality came some of my favorite songs, because I was less worried about if it fit into our old sound."
This statement is borne out across the whole album, which while very much embodying the core Allegaeon sound that has drawn fans in over the course of their impressive career, it pushes into new territory, and does so with unerring confidence. "Thematically, this record is all about contrast, and the music reflects that perfectly," says McShane. "The vocals are heavier than ever, but there are also more clean sections. The drums are faster than ever but also more dynamic, and the guitar playing is lower and slower than on most previous albums, but also provides long, melodic and beautiful sections throughout."
Apoptosis tracklisting:
"Parthenogenesis"
"Interphase // Meiosis"
"Extremophiles (B)"
"The Secular Age"
"Exothermic Chemical Combustion"
"Extremophiles (A)"

AC/DC's BRIAN JOHNSON Discusses Culinary Delights In New InterviewAC/DC singer Brian Johnson, who has lived in Sarasota, Florida for nearly three decades, was recently interviewed by Edible Sarasota, a local print magazine celebrating local farms, local restaurants and local businesses.
Asked what food he loves just a little too much, Johnson responded: "Bread. Bread and olive oil and butter. Good olive oil, good butter. That matters. Every Saturday, I treat myself. I drive to C'est La Vie [bakery and café in downtown Sarasota] and buy a baguette and a couple of his gorgeous croissants and go home and fry up two big brown eggs, smear a piece of baguette with French butter and dip it in the yolk. It's like caviar for me."
Johnson went on to say that he is currently exploring "soups" in the culinary world. "When I first came to America and would ask for a bowl of soup, it was like gelatin," he explained. "Making a good soup is a beautiful thing. I remember a restaurant in Lyon back in 1988 — this old part of town had restaurants lined up and each one made just one thing. This one spot made French onion soup. They'd serve it in stone mixing bowls with cheese and onions hanging over the side. It was just ... [he sighs deeply]. We sat there drinking some no-name wine made by some brother down the street and the cheese made by his sister and the onions grown nearby … I'd like to make soup like that."
Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd, along with guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, were photographed outside Vancouver's Warehouse Studios last August. Based on the pictures, the assumption is that AC/DC is in the midst of making — or at least planning — another album, with Rudd and Johnson both back in the lineup. Online reports have also indicated Angus Young will dedicate the new AC/DC album to his late brother.
Ever since AC/DC completed the tour cycle for its 2014 album "Rock Or Bust" nearly three years ago — a turbulent trek that weathered the forced retirement and eventual death of co-founder Malcolm Young, plus the departures of Johnson, Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams — fans have wondered whether sole remaining founding member Angus Young would keep the band going or decide it was time for AC/DC to pack it in.
Johnson was forced to leave AC/DC mid-tour due to a dangerous level of hearing loss, and was eventually replaced on the road by GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose, while Williams decided to retire at the end of the cycle.
This past February, a photo surfaced on social media suggesting that Williams has also returned to AC/DC and will appear on the rumored comeback album which is expected to be released in the coming months. 2

TESTAMENT Is 'Almost Ready' To Begin Recording 'Ultra-Heavy' New AlbumTESTAMENT is "almost ready" to enter the studio to begin recording the follow-up to 2016's "Brotherhood Of The Snake" album.
Guitarist Eric Peterson posted an update on the new disc's songwriting sessions Tuesday night, sharing a photo of him with fellow TESTAMENT guitarist Alex Skolnick, along with the following caption: "Great last couple of days with @alexskolnick putting last touches of riffs together and collaborating on ultra heavy riffage and some surprising melodic acoustics... almost ready to start recording!"
Drummer Gene Hoglan recently told Agoraphobic News that the band's upcoming album is shaping up to "a killer, kick-ass TESTAMENT record. Everybody's gonna enjoy it," he said. "TESTAMENT has a good grasp on what TESTAMENT does, so it's gonna be just another kick-ass TESTAMENT record. Totally."
Peterson said in an interview with Guitar World that he hoped TESTAMENT's next album would be a more collaborative effort than "Brotherhood Of The Snake", which saw him writing all the music in about three months and then e-mailing the songs to his bandmates.
For his part, Skolnick told Heavy New York that TESTAMENT's new studio album, which is tentatively due later this year, will not necessarily sound like a direct follow-up to "Brotherhood Of The Snake".
"I think anytime we make a record, we don't think about the last record," he said. "That's done. Actually, the last thing we wanna be influenced by is the previous record. And I think it's pretty safe to say there's never been two records in a row where they're really that much alike. We don't have a 'period.' Sometimes bands release a pair or a series of records where there's a big similarity. We've never done that. So I think it's gonna be starting fresh. And we'll see where it goes… It's not pre-planned."
Last September, singer Chuck Billy told Inquisitr that TESTAMENT's next record would likely include a ballad. "We haven't done a ballad in 20-something years probably," he said. "I mean, a full-on ballad. 'Born In A Rut', off the other one ['Brotherhood Of The Snake'], it's soft and has melody, but it's not really a true ballad."
"Brotherhood Of The Snake" was recorded under the watchful eyes of producer Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, HEATHEN, MACHINE HEAD), Peterson and Billy and was mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap. 25

SUM 41 Returns With 'Heaviest And Most Aggressive' Album To Date, 'Order In Decline'SUM 41 will release its seventh full-length album, "Order In Decline", on July 19 via Hopeless Records. The disc is described in a press release as "undoubtedly SUM 41's heaviest and most aggressive album to date, while also being their most dynamic and raw."
During three years of relentless touring surrounding the band's massive comeback record, "13 Voices", frontman Deryck Whibley was feverishly putting together song ideas that would eventually become "Order In Decline". Within three weeks of returning home, the majority of the music for the new album was written and then it was time for lyrics.
Unconsciously, Whibley saw lyrics reflecting his reactions to seeing the pervasive division, racism and hate around the world, even more so punctuated by the repulsive social and political turmoil invading his own home nations of the United States and Canada. "The last thing I wanted to do was write a social or political protest record, and 'Order In Decline' is not that," Whibley clarifies. Instead, "Order in Decline" is a burst of uninhibited feeling, a page out of his journal, a window into his soul that reflects on extremely personal and vulnerable events, because, as he confesses, "It's also very hard not to have feelings about everything that's going on in the world."
Armed with the most honest and personal songs of his career, Whibley poured everything he had into the album. Producing, engineering, and mixing the album in his home studio, he pain-stakingly crafted and fine-tuned each song, highlighted by fast and full riffs, guitar solos from lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dave Brownsound, harmonious chords from guitarist Tom Thacker, and the heavy, heart-thumping rhythm section of bassist/backing vocalist Cone McCaslin and drummer Frank Zummo.
Today's announcement unleashes the highly anticipated first single and video for "Out For Blood". It is the epitome of a SUM 41 track, featuring anthemic and echoing vocals, an insane guitar solo and never-ending energy that will captivate you from the very beginning.
"Order In Decline" track listing:
01. Turning Away
02. Out For Blood
03. The New Sensation
04. A Death In The Family
05. Heads Will Roll
06. 45 (A Matter Of Time)
07. Never There
08. Eat You Alive
09. The People Vs…
10. Catching Fire
Later this month, SUM 41 will hit the road and deliver an up-close-and-personal show through intimate club venues across the United States while on the "No Personal Space" tour. The trek kicks off on April 30 in San Antonio, Texas and features support from California-based ASSUMING WE SURVIVE. In addition to these dates, the band will perform at a number of United States Air Force bases throughout the U.S.
Special VIP packages for the "No Personal Space" tour are available and include a question-and-answer session with Brownsound and McCaslin.
SUM 41 will also co-headline the inaugural Rockstar Energy Drink Disrupt festival this summer on select dates throughout the United States and Canada. 7

Video Premiere: MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's 'Disguise'MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has released the official music video for the title track of its new album, "Disguise". The clip, which was directed by Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn, can be seen below.
Due on June 7 via Roadrunner Records, "Disguise" is available for pre-order today at all DSPs, with exclusive bundles including a special alternate album cover — limited to 1000 copies — also available at www.motionlessinwhite.net. All pre-orders will receive instant grat downloads of "Disguise" and "Brand New Numb". Recorded with producer Drew Fulk (a.k.a. WZRD BLD) in Los Angeles, California, "Disguise" follows MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's chart-topping Roadrunner debut, "Graveyard Shift".
MOTIONLESS IN WHITE is currently out on "The 2019 Spring Invasion Tour", a co-headline run alongside ATREYU featuring support from special guests WILSON. The tour will see the bands traversing North America through May 9 where it will conclude with a performance at Knoxville, Tennessee's The Mill & The Mine. Later this summer MOTIONLESS IN WHITE will head back out on the road with ALICE COOPER and HALESTORM for a North American tour set to kick off July 17 at Allentown, Pennsylvania's PPL Center.
Since 2006, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has won over audiences around the globe with its aggressive music and arresting imagery, rapidly rising to the upper echelon of modern rock. Albums such as 2010's "Creatures" and 2012's "Infamous" would galvanize a rabid fan base around the band — currently comprised of lead singer Chris Motionless, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow. MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's 2014 LP, "Reincarnate", reached new heights, bowing at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart and claiming No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart. 2017's "Graveyard Shift" arrived to critical acclaim, once again topping Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart led by the Top 20 Active Rock hit "LOUD (F*ck It)" , as well as the thunderous singles "Eternally Yours" and "Necessary Evil".

Watch AEROSMITH Perform Without Drummer JOEY KRAMER At Friday Night's 'Deuces Are Wild' ConcertFan-filmed video footage of AEROSMITH's April 26 concert in Las Vegas, Nevada can be seen below. The show marked the second consecutive performance the band played without drummer Joey Kramer at the Park Theater at Park MGM as part of AEROSMITH's "Deuces Are Wild" residency.
Earlier in the week, Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist John Katsilometes tweeted out a statement from AEROSMITH's management which explained that Joey "had a minor accident and is totally fine, but he hurt his shoulder in the process." Filling in for Kramer at both concerts was Kramer's drum tech, John Douglas.
Back in August 2014, AEROSMITH canceled a California concert because Kramer was dealing with "heart complications" that required immediate surgery. The musician later revealed that he had an angioplasty, explaining that it was "just strictly a hereditary thing. There's a family history, and I was the victim. But no more."
Kramer missed a week's worth of AEROSMITH shows after his 2014 surgery — his son Jesse filled in on drums — before getting back to work.
"It wasn't my time," Kramer said at the time. "It wasn't time for my ticket to be punched. And so I got fixed, and I'm back 150 percent, and everything is as good as it can possibly be."
AEROSMITH kicked off its "Deuces Are Wild" Las Vegas residency on April 6. The band is scheduled to play 27 more shows in Las Vegas dates before the end of the year — one in April, five in June, four in July, four in September, four in October, seven in November, and two in December. The band also has multiple-night "Deuces Are Wild" engagements booked at MGM properties in National Harbor, Maryland; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Springfield, Massachusetts.
In addition to the "Deuces Are Wild" shows, AEROSMITH is scheduled to make two festival appearances this summer: July 14 at the Roxodus Music Fest in Edenvale, Canada; and July 19 at the Twin Cities Summer Jam in Shakopee, Minnesota.

CONCEPTION Feat. Former KAMELOT Singer ROY KHAN: Video Of First Comeback ConcertReactivated Norwegian progressive metallers CONCEPTION, who feature in their ranks former KAMELOT singer Roy Khan, played their first live shows in well over a decade on April 26 and April 27 in their hometown of Gjøvik.
CONCEPTION performed songs from its new EP, "My Dark Symphony", as well as its classic albums. Released last November, the EP features six tracks, including two from the previously released three-song single called "Re:Conception".
Fan-filmed video fooage of Friday's concert can be seen below.
The setlist was as follows:
01. Re:Conception (intro)
02. Grand Again (live debut)
03. Into The Wild (live debut)
04. Angel (Come Walk With Me)
05. A Virtual Lovestory
06. In Your Multitude
07. Quite Alright (live debut)
08. A Million Gods
09. Feather Moves (live debut)
10. Gethsemane
11. And I Close My Eyes
12. Cry
13. Reach Out
14. Parallel Minds
15. Cardinal Sin
16. My Dark Symphony (live debut)
17. Roll The Fire
Since releasing the album "Flow" in 1997, the CONCEPTION members — Roy Khan, Tore Østby, Ingar Amlien and Arve Heimdal — have been working on separate projects, but fans never gave up hope of seeing them together as a band again. There had been rumors and speculations for some time about a possible reunion, and earlier last year, they confirmed that they had quietly been working for some time on this new material.
After his departure from KAMELOT seven years ago, Khan (full name: Roy Sætre Khantatat), who is a devout Christian, joined a church in the coastal town of Moss, Norway. As an employee of Moss Frikirke, Khan worked with the youth, mainly with the choir and the skaters of the village. Roy stopped working at the church in September 2016, but is reportedly still living and working in Moss.
Asked by Italy's "Heavy Demons" radio show if his spirituality will have an effect on CONCEPTION's lyrics, Roy said: "CONCEPTION is never going to be a religious band by any standards and there are some lyrics that I would think now that I would think differently about, but that doesn't mean we can't play the songs or anything. I look upon myself as an artist and let's say you act in a theater play and 'Faust', for example, somebody has the play the part of Mephistopheles. It doesn't mean that person is evil or bad in any sense. I think it's important to be able to portray the tragic and darkest side of life without being suspected of being a bad person yourself. That being said, there will, of course, be some songs that will touch in on the themes. Anything else would be awkward. It's not going to be a religious album, obviously."
After releasing their 1991 "The Last Sunset" debut on its own CSF Records ("Conception Self-Financed Records"), CONCEPTION was signed by Germany's Noise Records when label head Karl-Ulrich Walterbach was given a demo tape of the band. Walterbach, who by then had largely soured on melodic and power metal, was impressed by CONCEPTION's progressive angle and thought-provoking lyrics and saw them as an alternative to the more fantasy-driven melodic metal bands on the label.
The band's 1993 "Parallel Minds" and 1995 "In Your Multitude" full-lengths were well-received by fans and critics alike, earning CONCEPTION opening slots with the likes of GAMMA RAY and SKYCLAD. CONCEPTION's last studio album, 1997's "Flow" was more experimental in nature, prompting them to fall out of favor with Noise, leading to the dissolution of the band in 1998. Shortly thereafter, Khan was contacted by KAMELOT leader Thomas Youngblood, who invited the Norwegian vocalist to join the band.
Khan announced his exit from KAMELOT in April 2011 after taking several months off to recover from a "burnout." He explained in a statement at the time: "I told the guys in the band already last fall (well after my burnout) that I was leaving the band. Naturally enough, they were shocked (as was the label and everyone else working with KAMELOT). In addition to risk of dropping ticket sales, they wanted to give me time to think things over, and so I did. My decision still stands; it is finished."
KAMELOT officially announced Tommy Karevik as its new lead singer in June 2012. The Florida-based band has recorded three albums so far with the Swedish vocalist: 2012's "Silverthorn", 2015's "Haven" and 2018's "The Shadow Theory". 1

GENE SIMMONS's Sexual Battery Accuser Wants To Drop LawsuitAccording to The Blast, the woman who accused Gene Simmons of groping her during the opening of his family restaurant chain wants the case dismissed.
The woman — who sued the KISS bassist/vocalist under the name Jane Doe — filed a request for dismissal Wednesday in Los Angeles. The case was originally filed in December of last year, and the woman claims she was working at a dishwasher at Gene's restaurant, Rock & Brews, back in 2016 during the launch party.
The request is asking for the case to be dismissed with prejudice, which means it's over and done with. The documents don't say if a settlement was reached, but a request for a dismissal from the plaintiff is indicative that something was worked out between the two parties.
Once a judge signs off on the request for dismissal, the case will be completely finished.
The woman said she was working as a dishwasher at the Highland, California location of Rock & Brews restaurant chain in 2016. According to the lawsuit, which can be found below, Gene was visiting the restaurant, and Gene's manager and the woman's co-workers encouraged her to take a photo with the KISS star. The woman claimed Gene's manager encouraged her to move closer, and when she did, Gene allegedly "reached over and forcefully placed his hand on her vagina completely covering it." The woman said she tried to stop Gene, and once the photo was taken, she showed it to co-workers. The woman accused Gene of acting in a "sexually charged" manner to other women during the visit, touching their hand and encouraging them to unbutton their shirts.
Jane Doe also named Rock & Brews as a defendant, claiming the company was negligent because it "had advanced knowledge" that Simmons "would engage in unlawful conduct based on previous complaints and lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct." Simmons co-founded the company in 2012.
Simmons settled a separate lawsuit for sexual assault last year after a reporter accused him of groping her, once again at the opening of a Rock & Brews eatery. In that case, the woman claimed he made "unwanted, unwarranted sexual advances" during a radio interview, including touching her buttocks after posing for a photo. The alleged incident also took place at the Highland, California Rock & Brews location. Simmons settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount in July 2018. Simmons was previously sued for sexual assault in 2010 by a makeup artist who claimed he humped her while she was working at an ESPN broadcasting studio. 10

HATE To Release 'Auric Gates Of Veles' Album In JunePolish death metallers HATE will release their 11th full-length album, "Auric Gates Of Veles", on June 14 via Metal Blade Records.
The first single from the disc, "Sovereign Sanctity", can be heard below.
Since 1991, HATE has lived up to their name, responsible for some of the angriest and most ruthless death metal unleashed upon the world. With 2017's "Tremendum", they took a step toward a darker, more atmospheric, black metal-oriented style and began exploring Slavonic mysticism, and "Auric Gates Of Veles" boldly continues in that direction.
"We wanted to go deeper into the subject, both musically and lyrically," asserts vocalist/guitarist Adam "ATF Sinner" Buszko. "We also wanted to record a sharper and better-defined rhythm section, a more death metal-oriented one. When it comes to guitar sound, it was meant to be a wall of sonic destruction with dark ambient elements in the background."
With the ominous rumble that heralds the commencement of opener "Seventh Manvantara" giving way to a squall of guitars and blastbeats, it is clear that HATE is playing at the top of its game. Progressing through the rampant thrashing and wide-open spaces of "The Volga's Veins", the haunting, crushing grooves of the title track, the equally sinister and tragic sounds of "Salve Ignis" and concluding with the raw black metal of closer "Generation Sulphur", it is a diverse record, not content to rehash the same idea eight times. The centerpiece of the album is arguably the six-and-a-half-minute epic thunder of "Sovereign Sanctity", which demands the full attention of the listener from start to finish.
"We wanted the songs to sound like anthems, and 'Sovereign Sanctity' is a perfect example of such a song. I think it's also one of the best we have written in years," Sinner states.
"Auric Gates Of Veles" track listing:
01. Seventh Manvantara
02. Triskhelion
03. The Volga's Veins
04. Sovereign Sanctity
05. Path To Arkhen
06. Auric Gates Of Veles
07. Salve Ignis
08. Generation Sulphur
09. In The Shrine Of Veles (pre-production) (limited digi bonus track)
10. Path To Arkhen (pre-production) (limited digi bonus track)
Before the release of "Auric Gates Of Veles", HATE will tour across North America with BELPHEGOR, DARK FUNERAL and INCANTATION as part of the annual "Devastation On The Nation" trek, in addition to appearing at various European festivals. 3

HE IS LEGEND To Release 'White Bat' Album In JuneNorth Carolina's HE IS LEGEND will release its new album, "White Bat", on June 28 via Spinefarm Records.
The new single from the disc, "Boogiewoman", can be streamed below.
"'White Bat' is the purest, most passionate, and the most united HE IS LEGEND has been since we wrote 'It Hates You'. I think this album has something for every fan of each chapter in our history," says singer Schuylar Croom about the album, which is HE IS LEGEND's sixth full length overall and second for Spinefarm.
The quartet — Croom, Adam Tanbouz (lead guitar), Matty Williams (bass) and Jesse Shelley (drums) — is bolstered by a cult fan base that includes members of your favorite band.
For "White Bat", HE IS LEGEND diligently worked across the country. Shelley recorded drums in Atlanta at Glow In The Dark Studios with Matt Goldman. Guitars and bass were tracked at Warriorsound with Al Jacobs. Meanwhile, Croom ventured out West to reteam with Mitch Marlow for vocals in Los Angeles.
Inspired by Michelle McNamara's true crime classic "I'll Be Gone In The Dark", Croom wandered around the shadiest and most shadowy corners of the city of angels. Getting into a menacing mindset for the concept, he visited the grave of Walt Disney, canvased mausoleums, went to the Museum of Death, and "sat in crazy seedy little bars, wrote, and got into this headspace — like preparing for an acting role."
Ultimately, "White Bat" "has a moodiness and heaviness we haven't ventured into in a while," according to Croom. "It's conceptual. More than the content and concept, the music is representative of what we are now."
"White Bat" track listing:
01. White Bat
02. Burn All Your Rock Records
03. When The Woods Were Young
04. Eye Teeth
05. Talking Stalker
06. Bent
07. Resister, Resist Her
08. Uncanny Valley
09. The Interloper
10. Skin So Soft

Alan Parsons' music career started at 19 when he earned one of his his first credits as assistant engineer on The Beatles' Abbey Road, an album recorded in the legendary London studios of the same name. He soon become a well respected studio engineer, working for Paul McCartney, The Hollies, and many others. He is particularly renowned for his work as recording engineer on the Pink Floyd masterpiece, The Dark Side Of The Moon. This classic album was recorded in 1972 and Parsons experimented with many of the most advanced recording techniques of the time. As a producer, he enjoyed many successes with Pilot, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, John Miles, and Al Stewart, including the masterwork, Year Of The Cat.
In 1975, Alan Parsons formed The Alan Parsons Project along with principal songwriter (and occasional singer) Eric Woolfson. The Project consisted of a group of studio musicians and vocalists, often involving the members of three bands Alan produced: Pilot (Ian Bairnson, Stuart Tosh and David Paton), Cockney Rebel’s Stuart Elliott on drums, and (on the first album) American progressive pop/rock band, Ambrosia.
The Alan Parsons Project released ten acclaimed studio albums, but never performed live during the heyday of the albums, even after several US and European Top 20 hits. The Project made its final album at the end of the 80’s with the album Gaudi. Since then, Alan has released a number of recordings under his own name using several musicians that also appeared on the “Project" releases.
As well as receiving gold and platinum awards from countless countries, Parsons has received eleven Grammy Award nominations for his engineering and production work. In 2007, he was nominated for Best Surround Sound Album for his studio album, A Valid Path.
In 1994, Alan Parsons started touring regularly as The Alan Parsons Live Project and has released a number of live releases in audio and video. His live concerts continue to this day, to audiences worldwide.

OCEANWAKE Signs To Intrometal WorldwideIntromental Worldwide has announced the signing of Finnish dark, post-doom metal act, Oceanwake.
Oceanwake was established in the autumn of 2009 in a tiny and idyllic Finnish coastal town called Luvia, where all the musicians were born. Though everyone has since moved away from the town, the somewhat eccentric and unique spirit of Luvia is still strongly present in their music.
It is quite apparent that Oceanwake draws from a wide variety of influences, be it the music, the lyrics or the visuals - not to mention their live show which features a podium for the vocalist, situated upstage next to the drummer. But what's more important, they have succeeded in mixing all the ingredients so perfectly that it's almost impossible to find a specific genre to file them under. There is an indescribable twist in their approach to metal music that it keeps the focus on the music instead of “metal”. It's melodic, fragile and soothing at one moment but raw, relentless and downright frightening at another. Like a hovering mist on a placid shore in contrast with a raging storm that sweeps across the ocean.

BLOODBATH Guitarist JOAKIM KARLSSON QuitsJoakim Karlsson has left the death metal supergroup BLOODBATH.
The guitarist announced his departure via statement posted on the band's Facebook page earlier today. He wrote: "I am putting away my BLOODBATH vest for good.
"To be honest, I've never really considered myself a guitarist — at least not a particularly good one — just someone who plays guitar out of necessity because I wouldn't be able to write my music otherwise. BLOODBATH needs a lead guitarist; someone who can pull off these fast, evil solos and whatnot, and to be completely honest, that guy simply isn't me. BLOODBATH needs someone who can do it justice.
"I have had pretty much only good moments with the band, and I'm glad to have been a part of it for the last year and a half, but now I'll do other things. (I vaguely remember having a main band which hasn't gotten the attention it deserves during the last year. I think I'll focus on that for a while.) Alright... Later, BLOODBATH fans. I hope I at least managed to trick some of you into listening to CRAFT.
"By the way, some of you were making guesses about what songs I wrote for [BLOODBATH's latest album, 2018's] 'The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn'. I wrote 'Wayward Samaritan' (music/lyrics), 'Only The Dead Survive' (music, together with former CRAFT guitarist John Doe), 'Ride The Waves Of Fire' (music/lyrics) and 'Wide Eyed Abandon' (music)."
BLOODBATH has not yet announced a replacement for Karlsson.
The band will proceed with Tomas Åkvik of LIK as its touring guitarist.
"The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn" was released last October via Peaceville.

TRIVIUM's Cover Of TYPE O NEGATIVE's 'I Don't Wanna Be Me' Receives Digital ReleaseTRIVIUM's cover version of TYPE O NEGATIVE's "I Don't Wanna Be Me" has just been released digitally and can be streamed below. The track was initially made available for last year's Black Friday "Record Store Day" on a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl alongside TYPE O NEGATIVE's original version.
TRIVIUM guitarist Corey Beaulieu told the 90.3 WMSC radio show "The Metal Teddy Bear Experience": "We did the TYPE O NEGATIVE cover just for fun, to have a bonus track or just have something useful for whatever, and we just had that kind of hanging out, and then Roadrunner [TRIVIUM and TYPE O NEGATIVE's record label] decided to… It was 15 years since [the original version of] that song came out. So they were just, like, 'Hey, we should do this split thing for the 15-year anniversary of the song.' And we had the song, so they sent it to the TYPE O guys, and they gave the blessing; they liked the cover."
TRIVIUM's latest album, "The Sin And The Sentence", was released in October 2017 via Roadrunner. The LP features the band's first recordings with drummer Alex Bent, who joined TRIVIUM in 2016. 4

DIAMOND HEAD Guitarist Says Hype Surrounding GRETA VAN FLEET 'Will Possibly Destroy Them'DIAMOND HEAD guitarist Brian Tatler has defended GRETA VAN FLEET over accusations that the Michigan rockers have ripped off LED ZEPPELIN.
Despite the fact that GRETA VAN FLEET has managed to sell out shows all over the world, the four-piece has been criticized for channeling a sound uncannily similar to LED ZEPPELIN, with some music fans slamming singer Josh Kiszka for allegedly copy-and-pasting Robert Plant's vocal style.
During a recent interview with Record Collector magazine, Tatler and DIAMOND HEAD singer Rasmus Bom Andersen were asked for their opinion of GRETA VAN FLEET.
"Well, I like the singer — I think he's really good — but I think the hype surrounding GRETA VAN FLEET is incredible," Tatler said (see video below). "I've never seen a band hyped as much as GRETA VAN FLEET. I think it will possibly destroy them or it will be tough to survive this kind of microscopic attention being placed on GRETA VAN FLEET. I hope they can do it. They're young, good-looking guys, the world's at their feet, but it's a hell of a lot of pressure — more pressure than bands like [LED] ZEPPELIN or [BLACK] SABBATH or [DEEP] PURPLE have had back in the day. So we'll see what happens."
Tatler went on to say that the ZEPPELIN influence in GRETA VAN FLEET's music is "pretty obvious," adding that Josh "does sound a bit like Robert Plant, doesn't he? You've gotta draw a comparison with ZEPPELIN, with that guy's voice," he said.
"There's a lot of bands that sound like METALLICA, there's a lot of bands that sound like IRON MAIDEN — why not have a band that sounds like LED ZEPPELIN?" he said.
GRETA VAN FLEET's debut album, "Anthem Of The Peaceful Army", landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart in July despite earning a lukewarm 53/100 score on review curation site Metacritic.
In December, GRETA VAN FLEET scored four Grammy Award nominations, one for each major rock category — "Best Rock Album", "Best Rock Song", "Best Rock Performance" — and a "Best New Artist" nod. They went on to win for "Best Rock Album" for their sophomore EP, "From The Fires".
DIAMOND HEAD's new album, "The Coffin Train", will be released on May 24 via Silver Lining Music. 4

SOTO Premiers "Origami" Lyric VideoSoto, the modern heavy metal/hard rock group featuring vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen/Talisman/ex-Journey, Sons Of Apollo, TSO, etc.), have released a lyric video for "Origami", the title track of their third studio album, out May 24 via InsideOutMusic. Watch the clip below.
"This is one of the earlier tunes brought to us by our new bassist, Tony Dickinson, who has experience with giving us singles from the first two Soto albums, so he is a veteran with us even before joining the band," states Jeff Scott Soto about the release. "The word origami is never used in the song but made for a great title and even better album title! It has prog bits, very heavy moments yet very melodic, what we call melody with muscle! It also features some amazing frenetic guitar work from Jorge Salan, a proper blaster representative of the album!"
Origami will be released as a limited digipak CD with a set of three stickers and a bonus track, 180g vinyl LP including the entire album on CD, and as digital download. The album comes packaged with classy artwork by Gustavo Sazes (Machine Head, Amaranthe, Arch Enemy). Pre-order here.

"BeLie" lyric video:
Soto started in 2015 derived from the ideal of Jeff Scott Soto wanting to return to his heavier roots. So far they released two albums, Inside The Vertigo (2015) and DIVAK (2016), taking a short break while Jeff embarked on the supergroup Sons Of Apollo, alongside Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian, Billy Sheehan and Bumblefoot.
Now Soto are returning under the same umbrella as Sons Of Apollo, signing with InsideOutMusic. The new album Origami contains material that continues to expand and move the band towards new heights whilst following up with their brand of power rock.
Soto will hit South America for live dates in May and intend to be touring worldwide throughout 2019 following the release of the new album.
