KILLSWITCH ENGAGE To Release New Album In The FallMassachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will release their new studio album in the fall. The follow-up to 2016's "Incarnate" will be made avaialble via Metal Blade Records in the U.S. and Sony Music Entertainment in the rest of the world. The effort will feature a guest appearance on one song by the band's former lead singer Howard Jones.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new disc will mark the band's third full-length effort since the return of vocalist Jesse Leach, who rejoined the group in 2012.
Leach recently said that the making of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's upcoming LP was "the single hardest process I've ever had to deal with, far beyond any album I've done, hands down. The sheer amount of material, my vocal surgery, depression, anxiety and full-on mental breakdowns all contributed to the painstaking process."
As for the musical direction of the new record, Leach said: "I believe the album has something for everyone who is a fan or digs what KILLSWITCH is known for. I personally leaned a bit more on the heavier side of things, but we'll see what makes the album when all is said and done."
Leach appeared on KILLSWITCH's self-titled debut and sophomore album, "Alive Or Just Breathing", before exiting the band. Jones took over on vocals for "The End Of Heartache", "As Daylight Dies" and the 2009 self-titled set before being dismissed from the group seven years ago.
"Incarnate" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 35,000 equivalent album units. In terms of pure album sales, it opened with 33,000 copies.
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's last release was the "Beyond The Flames: Home Video Part II" two-disc, Blu-ray and CD package.
The American leg of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's "Collapse The World" co-headlining tour with PARKWAY DRIVE kicked off on April 18 in San Francisco.

Listen To DUFF MCKAGAN's New Solo Song 'Don't Look Behind You'GUNS N' ROSES bassist and New York Times best-selling author Duff McKagan has released "Don't Look Behind You", a new track from his much-anticipated solo album, "Tenderness".
"Don't Look Behind You" follows the recent release of "Chip Away" and "Tenderness".
The full track listing for "Tenderness" is as follows:
01. Tenderness
02. It's Not Too Late
03. Wasted Heart
04. Falling Down
05. Last September
06. Chip Away
07. Cold Outside
08. Feel
09. Breaking Rocks
10. Parkland
11. Don't Look Behind You
Also available for pre-order is a special limited-edition "Tenderness" deluxe book, which includes the album on 180-gram yellow-and-red starburst vinyl, the CD, and features an exclusive lithograph signed and numbered by McKagan. The hard cover book contains 40-pages of photos from the recording sessions and also presents liner notes written by Duff detailing his experiences with each song and the project as a whole. The vinyl features 10 tracks and a unique sequence carefully selected by McKagan and the album's Grammy-winning producer Shooter Jennings, while the CD includes 11 tracks.
"Tenderness" sees McKagan reflecting on his experiences traveling the globe over two and a half years on GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour. Encountering heartbreak, anger, fear, confusion and divide on his travels during this tumultuous time in our world history, McKagan channeled a collective hurt into songs of monolithic power.
"We're becoming divided at a time when we need each other most," says McKagan. "When huge industries get replaced because of modernization, it's time to retrain and bolster up those who get swept aside. Homelessness and drug addiction are avoidable in this country if we come together and get private and public cogs turning together in a positive direction. We can at least try to tackle mental illness while we're at it. But alas, we stump and lie, point fingers and divide. We're way better than this. As a father, I must say and do something now because I love my girls and my wife, and I love my country, and I feel I must be strong and use my voice now, do it while I'm able or perhaps never get a chance ever again."
McKagan and Jennings began recording "Tenderness" a year ago, working out of Station House studios, located in Echo Park, California, where they wrote and recorded in-between McKagan's tour with seminal rock band GUNS N' ROSES and the release of Jennings's eponymous album, "Shooter". "Tenderness" features Jennings and his band along with appearances by The Waters and The Suicide Horn Section (which features Duff's brother Matt McKagan on trombone), amongst others.
More than a year later, they're gearing up to take these songs on the road for a North American tour that kicks off May 30 at TLA in Philadelphia.

MEGADETH Classic “Last Rites / Loved To Death” Featured In New Apple iPhone AdIn a new ad supporting Apple iPhone XS, Megadeth’s classic Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good track “Last Rites / Loved To Death” is used as the soundtrack to the commercial. Check it out:
The ad description reads: “Earth. Shot on iPhone by Camp4 Collective, featuring stunning images of nature from around the world. Don’t mess with Mother.”
Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, who also plays in Altitudes & Attitude with Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, spoke about the progress being made on Megadeth's next studio album, during a recent interview on Detroit radio station 101 WRIF with Meltdown.
During the chat, which can be heard below, Ellefson stated, "We were obviously planning to do the Ozzy / Megadeth tour, and now that that's been pushed back to next year, in a way, probably opens up a perfect window for us to really get in now [and focus on the new album]. All things happen for a reason, so I think on the Megadeth schedule, it's probably maybe good timing, actually, to just go right in, and we're gonna definitely be really hunkering down now to get that going. Because we have some of our own shows in August that have been on the books — there's actually a few more coming in now — there's Rock In Rio, and that's early October, and then there's the MegaCruise."
"As much as we were hoping to have a record out this year, looking at how the Dystopia timeline was where we were working on it early in 2015, we started doing some shows later that year, we put out a heavy track, 'Fatal Illusion', and then the record dropped in early 2016. So, in this case, sometime probably early 2020 is my thought that that's probably when the record will be ready to come out."
In other news, Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has announced the release of Sleeping Giants, a companion LP to be released July 5th on CD / Digital, and August 30th on LP, on Combat Records, in conjunction with his upcoming memoir More Life With Deth, in stores July 16th via Jawbone Press. Co-written with Ellefson’s business partner Thom Hazaert, More Life With Deth is the follow-up to Ellefson’s celebrated My Life With Deth, and delves deeper into the later stages of Ellefson’s career, as well as a thorough exploration of the earliest days of Megadeth and beyond.
Sleeping Giants, featuring cover art by Melody Myers (Altitudes And Attitude, Marc Rizzo, Escape The Fate) , will be a retrospective featuring several new tracks recorded by Ellefson and Hazaert, plus a collection of demos, and unreleased material, from F5 and David’s other projects, including the unreleased demo “If You Were God”, featuring John Bush (Anthrax, Armored Saint), plus several unreleased demos featuring House Of Lords / Giuffria vocalist David Glen Eisley. The CD version will also include a second bonus disc, featuring a compilation of EMP and Combat Records artists.
Produced by Ellefson and Hazaert, with additional production from Icon guitarist John Aquilino at the Platinum Underground in Phoenix, Sleeping Giants is tentatively set to include a multitude of guests including: legendary MC Daryl “DMC” McDaniels, who shares vocals with Hazaert on the title track, Ken Mary (Alice Cooper, Flotsam And Jetsam), Steve Conley (Flotsam And Jetsam, F5), Ethan Brosh, Bumblefoot, Dave Sharpe and Opus Lawrence of Dead By Wednesday, Mark Tremonti, Juan Garcia (Abbatoir, Body Count), Illias Papadakis (Memorain), Dave McClain (Machine Head, Sacred Reich), a remix by Game Of Thrones star Kristian Nairn, and more.
Check out a teaser video of the title track:
Pre-order Sleeping Giants on CD, LP, and in bundle configurations at this location.
Says Hazaert, “David and I were in Tampa for PBX - Playback Independent Music Expo, and had just finished an amazing run of Basstory, where I ended up performing with him, and several of our friends including Bumblefoot, and Dave Sharpe and Opus from Dead By Wednesday. We capped it off with an amazing all-star Basstory jam at the Brass Mug in Tampa with Dirk Verbeuren, Troy Sanders from Mastodon, Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick, Head from Korn, Kyle Sanders from Hellyeah. It was insane. So, we went into a local studio, Mastersound in Tampa, with the Dead By Wednesday guys, and ended up writing and tracking 'Vultures'.”
He adds, “David had all these other amazing instrumental songs, and parts, laying around, that I had always loved, and we just ended up getting a bunch of guests to play on them, polished some of them up, I wrote lyrics, laid down vocals, and the rest is history.”
Says Ellefson, “I love to collaborate and It’s timely and fitting to work up these song ideas with my friends, and get to break out and release some of these great demos and oddities from over the years, the stories behind many of which are told in the book. And to be able to include many of the EMP and Combat artists, I think it really brings another dimension to the stories we’re telling in More Life With Deth.”
Adds Hazaert, “It truly was just writing and making music from the purest place of writing and making music… like, buddies in the garage jamming on songs. And while everyone knows him as a bassist, David is such an incredible guitar player, and songwriter, and I love that we can finally showcase that. And to have a bunch of our friends who are IN the book play on it, and for me and David to collaborate the way we did. I think it’s really special. And, at first, we really didn’t know what to do with it, or if we would even do anything with it, for that matter. We’d discussed the idea of releasing the new tracks as singles, then an EP, and then we came up with the idea to create a sort of “island of misfit toys”b-sides, with all this killer stuff David had been involved with over the years, and it really all just kinda fell into place.”
Tentative Tracklisting:
"Vultures"
"Sleeping Giants" (ft. DMC)
"Hammer Comes Down"
"Vultures" (Kristian Nairn Remix)
"If You Were God" (ft. John Bush)
"Deadman Rise"
"I Fall"
"Bleeding"
"Why Can’t We Die"
"Dying on The Vine"
"Faded"
"Undeniable"
"Feel Your Pain"
"Out In The Rain" (ft. David Glen Eisley)
"Voices" (ft. David Glen Eisley)

KISS Give Final Salute To Tampa On End Of The Road Tour; Pro-Shot VideoKISS have shared more pro-shot footage from their End Of The Road tour including their stop on April 11th at Amalie Arena, Tampa, Florida.
KISS’ Paul Stanley will guest on The Big Interview with Dan Rather on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 8 PM EST. In a new preview video, the Starchild talks about his road to stardom and how fame shaped his perspective on life.
“I pursued fame as a way to compensate for a lot of insecurities,” Stanley explains. “I had what’s called a microtia, which is basically not having an ear… I wasn’t very socially adept, and when you have something physical that sets you apart from people, it makes you the target of unrelenting scrutiny and sometimes ridicule.”
“I was fortunate to have success come to me and realize that it didn’t change anything… I decided that I would spend my life or my time on self-exploration and trying to make myself a better person… I was blessed to be a part of an idea to become the band we never saw, and that led me on a course that I’m still on today. Where it’s taking me, God only knows.”

TIMO TOLKKI Calls Former STRATOVARIUS Bandmate TIMO KOTIPELTO "One Of The Best Power Metal Vocalists Of The World"Former Stratovarius guitarist Timo Tolkki has posted the following comment on Facebook, which is significant in that he did not part with the band on good terms, although his relationship with the Stratovarius members has been mended in recent years.
Tolkki: "My friend Timo Kotipelto is one of the best power metal vocalists of the world. I still remember back in 1995 when I went to meet TK in his home. He opened the door and I thought, 'Okay, he looks great.' Then he played me his demo and after hearing seven notes I knew he was the one."
Tolkki sang on the first three Stratovarius albums: Fright Night (1989), Twilight Time (1992) and Dreamspace (1994). Dreamspace is the album that put Stratovarius on the map, but Tolkki turned vocal duties over to Kotipelto in 1995 for the Fourth Dimension album. They released Episode in 1996 with Kotipelto up front, and it is considered by many to be their breakthrough.
Tolkki left Stratovarius in 2008 following four chaotic years that saw the band caught in a mire of in-fighting, publicity stunts, a self-titled album that was not well received by the fans, and the firing of long-time bassist Jari Kainulainen. Tolkki initially put the band to rest, as he held the rights to the Stratovarius name, but he eventually signed over the rights and all its royalties to Timo Kotipelto, keyboardist Jens Johansson and drummer Jörg Michael. This allowed Stratovarius to continue without Tolkki, and upon securing new guitarist Matias Kupianen the band began working on new material. They have released four albums without Tolkki between 2009 and 2015.

NEAL MORSE Debuts New Song “There’s A Highway”Jesus Christ - The Exorcist is a monumental project in Neal Morse’s already impressive discography. A Progressive Rock Opera 10 years in the making, it was written and produced by Morse and includes performances by Neal and an all-star cast of vocalists and musicians. Jesus Christ - The Exorcist will be released on June 14th on a double album set featuring about two hours of music that will encompass all the spectrums and genres Neal Morse is known for and will, of course, tell the Story of Stories. Good Friday sees the release of the new track “There’s A Highway”. Listen below.
Get 2CD, 3xLP, or Digital versions of the album here.
Signed albums, limited edition color vinyl, and more available at:
- Neal Morse Store
- Frontiers US Store
- Frontiers EU Store
Today, the first song from this masterpiece has been unveiled, "Get Behind Me Satan". Watch the video below.
"I don’t know why it came to me in quite this way, but definitely the influences on this song are Black Sabbath and Deep Purple primarily. I even asked Rich Mouser when he was mixing the song to listen to 'Paranoid' because I thought that vocal effect would be cool on Ted’s (Leonard) voice," says Morse of the track.
When asked about what fans can expect sound wise from the album, Morse explains, "Oh, it is completely diverse. There are touching ballads, rousing ensemble pieces, classical elements and dramatic Broadway musical type songs as well. It is really meant to be listened and experienced all the way through as you would a play or an opera. I hope that people will experience it in that way because I think that’s where they will really find the power in this piece of music."
He continues, "These songs and pieces of music were all written for this rock opera specifically. I wrote the first draft in 2008 and 2009, I believe. Then, last year in preparation for a performance at MorseFest I rewrote the whole musical again. I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome and I am thrilled that it is coming out on Frontiers this June."
With a cast of amazing vocalists and musicians like Ted Leonard, Eric Gillette, Nick D’Virgilio, Randy George, Bill Hubauer, Matt Smith, Jake Livgren and others, this progressive rock opera is a landmark event that will leave its mark on every listener. “Let him who has ears to hear... let him hear!”
Jesus Christ - The Exorcist, had it’s live world premiere in 2018 and was performed by a prog rock all-star cast featuring Neal Morse (keys, guitar), Paul Bielatowicz (lead guitar), Bill Hubauer (keys), Randy George (bass), and Eric Gillette (drums). Featured vocalists included Ted Leonard (Spock's Beard, Enchant), Nick D'Virgilio (Big, Big Train, Spock's Beard), Jake Livgren (Protokaw), Matt Smith (Theocracy), Wil Morse and more. Also, John Schlitt (Petra) and Rick Florian (White Heart) were added to the performance as well.
Frontiers looks forward to partnering with Neal on his continuing musical explorations and extending his progressive rock legacy with his latest creative vision.

THENIGHTTIMEPROJECT Featuring Former KATATONIA Guitarist FREDRIK NORRMAN - "Embers" Single StreamingSwedish collective Thenighttimeproject - founded by current and former members of Katatonia, October Tide, and Letters From The Colony - have released the first single from their impending second LP, Pale Season, due out through Debemur Morti Productions on June 28th. Check out "Embers" below:
Melancholic progressive rock quartet Thenighttimeproject is comprised of Fredrik and Mattias Norrman, (guitars and bass, respectively), who spent fifteen years in Katatonia, and are now also active in October Tide, as well as guitarist/vocalist Alexander Backlund and drummer Jonas Sköld, who both also currently hold rank in Letters From The Colony.
The album title, Pale Season - despite what some might think - does not refer to the eight months where the weather in Sweden is a signature grey. Instead, it refers to those less-colorful patches of memory - years that fly by without anything spectacular happening, which pale in comparison to the vividness of one's childhood or the early days of romance. This, in other words, is an album for all those moments lost in between the extremes of the emotional spectrum. Elements of Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Anathema, Katatonia, and A Perfect Circle combine to create a record that is sublime in every way. A paean to melancholia, Pale Season is also not without its moments of physical and emotional heft and will launch Thenighttimeproject on to the international stage.
Guitarist Fredrik Norrman comments, "I'm very pleased to finally be able to give some info over what we've been doing the past year. This is easily one of the best albums I've ever been part of. Very proud of what we've managed to achieve."
Pale Season was recorded at Valley Sound Studio/Nailvillage, mixed by Alexander Backlund at Nailvillage, mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios, and completed with cover art by Denis Forkas and design by Kadriel Betsen.
Debemur Morti Productions will release Thenighttimeproject's Pale Season on CD, LP, and all digital platforms on June 28th. Stand by for audio previews, preorders, and much more to be issued in the weeks ahead.

JOB FOR A COWBOY And THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Members Join Forces In SERPENT OF GNOSISDeath/grind band SERPENT OF GNOSIS will release its debut album, "As I Drink From The Infinite Well Of Inebriation", on June 14 via 1126 Records.
The first song from the disc, "The Colorless Capsules", can be streamed below.
The project began with musicians Max Lavelle, Al Glassman and Darren Cesca playing in the band GORATORY. Inevitably, they each took different paths over the years. However, old friends have reunited and sparked a musical connection with SERPENT OF GNOSIS. Glassman and Cesca were writing the music in 2018 and ultimately turned to their former and current bandmates, who are in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and JOB FOR A COWBOY, to help fill the gaps. After a unique recording process where the members individually tracked their parts from home, the album was mixed by drummer Darren Cesca in his own House Of Grind studio.
While some uber extreme forms of metal tend to rely on religious themes of horror and imagery of gore and evil, SERPENT OF GNOSIS took a route that hit a bit closer to home. The band explored concepts such as addiction and what that can do to both the human psyche and the body. "As I Drink From The Infinite Well Of Inebriation" is an album that provides a first-person perspective and tells its stories through the eyes of an individual dealing with severe and near-crippling drug addiction.
Davy stated about SERPENT OF GNOSIS and "The Colorless Capsules": "We are a collection of small cavemen who enjoy fast and heavy things. This song describes instances of addiction and the dependencies that align with it, particularly in the pharmaceutical form."
SERPENT OF GNOSIS is:
Al Glassman - Guitar
Tony Sannicandro - Guitar
Max Lavelle - Bass
Darren Cesca - Drums
Jonny Davy - Vocals 15

BLOODY HAMMERS Release Official Video For “Now The Screaming Starts”Inspired by the 1973 horror flick “Now The Screaming Starts” the Transylvania County based duo Bloody Hammers have released the first official video of their upcoming album The Summoning. The video transports the sinister and dark feeling that Bloody Hammers create as no other band in 2019.
Anders Manga on the video and the song: “When I was thinking about my approach for the ‘Now The Screaming Starts’ video, I just happened to be watching some classic movie trailers. The trailer for The Night Evelyn Came Out Of The Grave and some other classic Giallo slashers got me inspired to go for that high contrast, color washed look. I think I accomplished it and we’re really stoked on the vibe of it now.
“The song was originally inspired by the Amicus Productions film, And Now the Screaming Starts! from the early ‘70s but it eventually took on its own narrative about a narcissistic killer who’s being haunted by his past victims. It all comes together in the video… BUT… please Don’t Watch It Alone!!! ...or at least have a nurse present. Up the Hammers!”
Bloody Hammers will release their fifth studio album, The Summoning, on June 26 via Napalm Records.
The US duo has prepared a wonderfully creepy horror musical experience that pays homage to classic flicks such as Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) and Now The Screaming Starts (1973). Bloody Hammers’ idea of a soundtrack for your favorite video nasties holds some surprises on their upcoming record.
Anders Manga on the new album: "When I think about my earliest influences, the horror film genre is just as important as musical influences and they’re all fuzed together in my brain from childhood. When I was a kid, there was a show called Shock Theatre that aired late at night on our local WGHP network in the early 80s. They played ‘Dr. Phibes Rises Again’, ‘Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things’ and weirdness like that. Around the same time slot, over on channel 61, there was a music video show that played Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper and all those artists our satanic panicked local churches and teachers were freaking out about... and forbidding. I tried to put myself back in that time when I wrote The Summoning. In my mind, it’s a tribute musically and lyrically to those magical macabre memories. Back when paranoid adults thought kids were brainwashed and likely worshiping Satan in the woods... good times!"
The Summoning will be available in the following formats:
- 4 page Digipack
- 1 LP Gatefold
- Digital album
- 2LP Gatefold (purple) - Napalm Records mailorder exclusive, strictly limited to 200 units
Pre-order your copy here.
The Summoning tracklisting:
"Let Sleeping Corpses Lie"
"Now The Screaming Starts"
"The Summoning"
"Fire In The Dark"
"The Beast Is Coming Out"
"Welcome To Darkness"
"Tales That Witness Madness"
"Condemned, The Prisoner"
"From Beyond The Grave"
"Unbreakable"
Frontman Anders Manga infused the new album tracks with epic metal and hard rock nuances. But don’t fret, the lumbering doom riffs deliver massive doses of goth rock, and Devallia’s psychedelic keyboards are present ever-still, and turn their latest effort The Summoning into a well-balanced, lush and highly infectious affair.

SAMAEL Releases New Lyric Video For “Solar Soul”; Lux Mundi & Solar Soul Album Re-Releases Out NowSwiss black metal pioneers, Samael, are back and will re-release their legendary albums Lux Mundi and Solar Soul out today via Napalm Records. To celebrate the release day the band is premiering a new lyric video for the track “Solar Soul” below:
Samael awakened on the 14th of July 1988 when brothers Xytraguptor and Vorphalack loaded their musical gear into an atomic bunker. Almost 20 years after that day the band experienced a rebirth with the release of Solar Soul (2007). The album, co-produced by longtime producer Waldemar Sorychta and mixed by Stefan Glaumann (Rammstein, Within Temptation) is now fully remastered and will be released with the addition of nine bonus tracks (two remixes, six instrumental songs, one live track).
After resurrecting black metal in the early '90's with their debut album Worship Him, introducing symphonic metal in 1994 with Ceremony Of Opposites and pionieering industrial metal with Passage in 1996; Samael released Lvx Mvndi in 2011, a record that built a bridge over the 20+ years of the band's history by melting all sides and personalities of the band into a masterpiece. Now the album has been remixed from stems, remastered and will be released with the addition of seven bonus tracks.
A new lyric video for "Ave!" from the Solar Soul re-release can be seen below. Vorph on “Ave!”: “It’s a titanic and monolithic song that always leave the audience mesmerized by its crushing power when we play it live. But I let you judge by yourself if you're not yet familiar with that song... “
Pre-order Lvx Mvndi here, and "Solar Soul" here.

CYNIC's PAUL MASVIDAL To Release 'Mythical Human Vessel' Trilogy Of Records"Mythical Human Vessel" is a trilogy of records written and performed by the songwriter and guitarist Paul Masvidal. They are the first independent solo releases on his label, Masvidalien Records, of which the first collection, "Mythical", will drop May 31.
Best known for leading the influential progressive rock group CYNIC, Masvidal recorded embryonic demos of these tightly-crafted songs over a decade ago. Drawing on influences from musicians John Lennon, Brian Eno, Chet Baker, Russill Paul and Elliott Smith to visual artists Mark Rothko, Ai Weiwei, Hilma af Klimt and Cai Guo-Qiang, the songs embrace concise forms and catchy melodies in spite of their often painful subject matters of loss, depression, and heartache.
At the center of Masvidal's experiment is the use of Isochronic tones, a "brain-entrainment" technology. Isochronics are said to produce bio-chemical reactions in the body that increase serotonin, alleviate depression and stress, improve focus, and aid in restful sleep, similar to the effects of exposure to negative ions in nature.
Through its incorporation of Isochronic tones, "Mythical Human Vessel" is intended as "an inherently relaxing listening experience, and adding the tones multiplied the benefits," Masvidal says. "More serotonin for all!"
Throughout all three volumes of "Mythical Human Vessel", the sound of undulating and sweeping frequencies in slow and rapid succession act as a subliminal agent to affect the listener positively and help to create a deeper connection to the songs themselves.
"Mythical Human Vessel" was mixed and produced by Warren Riker. The Isochronic tones were designed by Dr. Stephane Pigeon, creator of the Brian Eno-celebrated web site MyNoise.
Masvidal is currently working with experimental artists Greymar to develop "Mythical Human Vessel" into an immersive live experience using evocative imagery, storytelling and technology as part of an experiential journey into heart-opening and multi-dimensional landscapes.

NEW YEARS DAY: 'Shut Up' Lyric VideoThe official lyric video for "Shut Up", the new single from NEW YEARS DAY, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fourth studio album, "Unbreakable", which will be released on April 26 via RED Music. The follow-up to 2015's "Malevolence" was produced by Mitchell Marlow (ALL THAT REMAINS, IN THIS MOMENT, BUTCHER BABIES) and Scott Stevens (AMERICAN AUTHORS, HALESTORM, SHINEDOWN).
The official music video for "Shut Up" will make its online debut next week.
"'Shut Up' was written in a day, which just doesn't happen," states frontwoman Ash Costello. "I was going through some heavy personal stuff, and I was just, 'Don't tell me what I want. Shut up and give it to me.'"
"Shut Up" is the second song released from "Unbreakable", following last year's "Skeletons".
Costello spoke about the inspiration for the "Unbreakable" album title last month during an interview with Kevan Kenney of the BUILD Series.
She said: "When I really thought about the year it took to write the record, everything that I've been through, I really felt like came out unbreakable on the other side. As opposed to our record before this one, where I felt almost like I was too breakable. But now with the fans behind us, and our team behind us, and this new music, I really feel like I'm unbreakable."
Costello said her favorite track from "Unbreakable" is "Come For Me", which she described as "a fight song. It's kind of my invitation to the world that if you've got something to say, come say it to my face, "she explained. "I think we can all use a song like that."
According to Costello, she was in a much different headspace while writing "Unbreakable" than she was a few years earlier during the making of "Malevolence".
"There was a breakup, and probably the worst breakup you could possibly imagine," Ash said. "I've never talked about who it was or what the exact circumstances are, and I never will. But when I wrote 'Malevolence' in about 2015, '16, it was the darkest time of my life on this planet. I really didn't think I was gonna make it out on the other side alive, and it shows in the songs, especially the title track, 'Malevolence'. It's not a happy record."
Ash recently told Heavy New York that NEW YEARS DAY's new album was "being described as either the poppiest metal album or the most metal poppy album. Both I'm so stoked on. It's more fun."
Costello went on to say that while it's "all good" to reach a wider audience with NEW YEARS DAY's new music, the change in the band's musical direction "was really more for me. I wanted to have fun with it. I wanted music that was fun for me. And I did that. And hopefully people love it too and it's fun for them."
This past December, Costello told Alternative Press that "Skeletons" was "one of the lightest-sounding" tracks on the upcoming NEW YEARS DAY disc. "The record, actually, is quite heavy. So we figured we'd start at the bottom of the hill and work our way up instead of at the top and work our way down. So, what you can take away from 'Skeletons', though, is that the newer songs are gonna be very catchy. Even though it's gonna be very heavy music, the melodies and the lyrics are still going to be very, very catchy and poppy."
In November, Costello said that NEW YEARS DAY's new LP will be "totally different" from "Malevolence". "'Malevolence' came out three years ago," she said. "Are you the same you were three years ago? I hope I'm not. I feel like I've improved in songwriting; I've improved in singing; I've improved in screaming. Every year that goes by, I learn more about want kind of artist I want to be and what kind of art I want to put out. It's changed quite a bit, so that's why we put out [the EP] 'Diary Of A Creep' to kind of be a little bit of a segue. We wanted to do a lot of what you can expect in the future. We covered everything from PANTERA to NEW ORDER. That's what you can expect. 'Skeletons' is the first taste — a heavy riff with a very catchy chorus... It's not completely left-field — it's still very NEW YEARS DAY — but it's growing up."
Asked how the new album will differ lyrically from "Malevolence", Ash told Heavy New York: "'Malevolence' was mainly very anti-love, spiteful, really-upset-about-relationships album, because when I did that record, I had just found out that I had been cheated on in a five-year relationship. All that anger came out, especially in the title song. That's not a nice song. Now, I don't have a shitty relationship to use as fuel for lyrics, but my whole outlook has changed. Now there's kind of, like, a light at the end of the tunnel, so a lot of songs are going to reflect that."
"Unbreakable" track listing:
01. Come For Me
02. MissUnderstood
03. Skeletons
04. Unbreakable

06. Done With You
07. Poltergeist
08. Break My Body
09. Sorry Not Sorry
10. My Monsters

SABATON: 'The Great War' Album Track Listing RevealedSwedish heavy metal heroes SABATON will release their ninth full-length album, "The Great War", on July 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The band's 20th-anniversary record will be a concept effort covering stories from the First World War.
"The Great War" track listing:
01. The Future Of Warfare
02. Seven Pillars Of Wisdom
03. 82nd All The Way
04. The Attack Of The Dead Men
05. Devil Dogs
06. The Red Baron
07. Great War
08. A Ghost In The Trenches
09. Fields Of Verdun
10. The End Of The War To End All Wars
11. In Flanders Fields
SABATON started recording "The Great War" exactly 100 years after the end of the First World War (November 11, 1918) and took three months of intensive work to complete the album with longtime producer and collaborator Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge studios. The disc was mastered by Maor Appelbaum and the artwork was once again created by Peter Sallaí.
"This is not the first time we sing about stories from this period in time, but now we felt the timing was right to make a full concept album about this war," the band said.
Side by side with the album, the Swedes have worked hard to make their 20th year anniversary a very exciting year, and also started the SABATON History Channel — a unique collaboration between the band and multimedia historians Indy Neidell and Timeghost, capturing the power of social media to tell stories about the wars, battles and heroes behind SABATON's songs.
"This is the biggest album we have taken on so far. There is so much depth and story around the songs that we never had before," bassist Pär Sundström states. "Expect many surprises as we have tried new things and we also went back in time to a concept we know a lot of you love. 'The Great War' has been created side by side with the SABATON History Channel to make 2019 the most exciting year in our 20-year history.”
SABATON's next disc will be the group's first with guitarist Tommy Johansson (GOLDEN RESURRECTION, REINXEED), who replaced Thobbe Englund in 2016.
SABATON's 2012 album, "Carolus Rex", was recently certified quadruple platinum in the band's home country of Sweden. The concept effort — which is the group's biggest success to date — charts the rise and fall of the Swedish Empire, in particular the life of Charles XII ("Carolus Rex") who ruled it for 21 years. In an amazing coincidence, the album's quadruple platinum certification came exactly 300 years after the king's death in 1718.
To celebrate the album's success, and to commemorate the Swedish king who inspired it, SABATON released a special 300th-anniversary edition of "Carolus Rex" on November 30, which is the date Carolus Rex was killed in Norway. 1

MEMORIAM: Lyric Video For New Song 'Shell Shock'The official lyric video for the song "Shell Shock" from MEMORIAM, the Birmingham, United Kingdom-based death/grind metal band featuring Karl Willets (BOLT THROWER) on vocals, Frank Healy (BENEDICTION, CEREBRAL FIX) on bass, Scott Fairfax (CEREBRAL FIX) on guitar and Andy Whale (BOLT THROWER) on drums, can be seen below. The song is taken from MEMORIAM's third studio album, "Requiem For Mankind", which will be released on June 21 via Nuclear Blast.
The band states: "A new MEMORIAM song, a new approach, and, as with all our albums, a new sound for us to use.
"'Shell Shock' is the first track we recorded for the 'Requiem For Mankind' album. It is a bit of a death metal headbanger of a track! Subject-wise, it deals with the effects of being on the frontline amongst all the noise and chaos of a horrific war situation from an individual standpoint, and also that the soldier does not die from an enemy bullet! Sound-wise, it needed to sound a bit epic. We think we have achieved this on 'Shell Shock' and have used this as the blueprint sound throughout the album."
"Requiem For Mankind" track listing:
01. Shell Shock
02. Undefeated
03. Never The Victim
04. Austerity Kills
05. In The Midst Of Desolation
06. Refuse To Be Led
07. The Veteran
08. Requiem For Mankind
09. Fixed Bayonets
10. Interment
While MEMORIAM's debut album, "For The Fallen" (2017), was heavy, depressing and marked by grief, the second work "The Silent Vigil" (2018), showed a relentlessly aggressive side. It was without question another great album, created by musicians who blindly understand their craft yet do not repeat themselves. This also applies to "Requiem For Mankind". Once again, the groove is monstrous, the riffs are merciless, and the atmosphere is oppressive, paralyzing, even overwhelming. Willetts's aggressive vocals are rousing and relentless.
The band states: "Well, here we are with our third album, 'Requiem For Mankind'. On our previous albums, we have experimented with different musical and vocal styles which have finally got us to the here and now with what we think is the definitive MEMORIAM album. It's death metal. It's all we know. It feels like the previous albums were a buildup to this one. We finally have all the right ingredients in one place. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. Onwards!"
"Requiem For Mankind" was recorded at Parlour Studios in Kettering, U.K. with renowned producer Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, DIMMU BORGIR, AT THE GATES, AMORPHIS). The album's impressive artwork was once again created by Dan Seagrave (BENEDICTION, DISMEMBER, HYPOCRISY, SUFFOCATION).
MEMORIAM will play a "Requiem For Mankind" record-release show on June 22 at The Underworld, Camden, London.
MEMORIAM was primarily developed to fill the void that was left following the tragic death of Martin "Kiddie" Kearns, the drummer from BOLT THROWER, back in September 2015. BOLT THROWER subsequently placed all activity on hold for the foreseeable future which gave Karl Willetts an opportunity to develop a new project with friends that had expressed interest in forming a band for some time.
MEMORIAM is an old-school death metal band, maintaining the standards set by their previous bands, focusing on the themes of death, loss and war. Initially, the bandmembers got together to play covers of songs that had influenced them throughout their careers within the death metal scene. However, it soon became apparent that the new songs that they created were of a superior standard. 3

Listen To New ACCEPT Song 'Life's A Bitch'German/American heavy metal legends ACCEPT have released a special seven-inch vinyl single, featuring a brand new studio track titled "Life's A Bitch" as well as "Restless And Wild (Live at Wacken 2017)" on the B-side.
You can now listen to "Life's A Bitch" below.
Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann comments: "We love the title of the single… Who does not agree to that 'life's a bitch'? It is universal, even if the stories are different. Everybody knows what that means!"
"Life's A Bitch" track listing:
Side A: "Life's A Bitch"
Side B: "Restless And Wild (Live At Wacken 2017)"
The new ACCEPT single comes just days after the band announced the addition of Martin Motnik on bass and Ava-Rebekah Rahman on violin as the group prepares to launch the "Symphonic Terror" tour on April 20 in Wuppertal, Germany.
Born in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Motnik has been playing music since he was seven years old and has been a member of several bands, both in Germany and the United States. He was asked by Uli Jon Roth to join him for his 2008 U.S. tour and again in 2009 and 2012. In addition to his musical talent, Motnik also has a Master's Degree in business from the University of Mannheim.
"We were overwhelmed and honored by the musicians who auditioned for the open position," said Hoffmann. "The level of talent we saw was unprecedented, and we believe Martin Motnik is a perfect fit as he'll be joining us for the 'Symphonic Terror' tour and upcoming ACCEPT shows."
ACCEPT performed with a stand-in bass player, Danny Silvestri, aboard this year's 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, which ran from January 31 to February 4.
Silvestri stepped into ACCEPT following the recent departure of ACCEPT's founding bassist Peter Baltes.
ACCEPT recently released a live set, "Symphonic Terror - Live At Wacken 2017", via Nuclear Blast. It features a unique ACCEPT show, shot on August 3, 2017 at the legendary Wacken Open Air festival, where the band played the biggest and most extraordinary show of its career in front of 80,000, on top of thousands more fans watching via a live stream. 20

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES Feat. ALICE COOPER, JOHNNY DEPP, JOE PERRY: 'Rise' Album Due In JuneHOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES return with new music in the form of their explosive second album, "Rise". Rock and roll royalty Joe Perry, Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, and shock rock icon Alice Cooper join forces once again for the unmissable rock album of 2019. "Rise" will be released June 21 via earMUSIC. The first singe, "Who's Laughing Now", can be streamed below.
Seconds into the opening track "I Want My Now", it's clear this supergroup has created something special. The chemistry between the individuals is unmistakable when they come together on stage or in the recording studio. Forget the individual reputations of the star-studded lineup, "Rise" features some of the purest, most unapologetic, and most enjoyable rock 'n' roll of the year — made by masters of the craft and true fans of the form.
Unlike HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES' 2015 debut record, "Rise", produced by Tommy Henriksen and the band, consists mainly of original material written by the band. However, in the spirit of the VAMPIRES' original mission, there are three covers of songs originally written and recorded by some fellow rockers who died far too young: an intimate and intense version of David Bowie's "Heroes", beautifully performed by Johnny Depp; the late JIM CARROLL BAND's "People Who Died"; and Johnny Thunders's "You Can't Put Your Arms Around A Memory", sung by Joe Perry.
Raucous rock anthems like "The Boogieman Surprise" and first single "Who's Laughing Now" capture the natural, raw, and celebratory attitude that the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES displayed in their rowdy shows around the world. However, the album shows off their range as well with tracks like "We Gotta Rise" — a tongue-in-cheek politics song in the tradition of Cooper's "Elected" — to the psychedelic gothic epic of "Mr. Spider".
"'Rise' is not only a totally different animal than the first VAMPIRES album, it is unique to anything I've ever been a part of," says Cooper. "I approached it very differently than I usually do when working on an album. Each of us; Joe, Johnny, Tommy, and myself have written songs on this album. What is different though is that I didn't try to change any songs to be more 'Alice-like.' Because each of us has different influences, the sound of this album is very cool. I think that with this album, we are establishing what the Vampires' sound really is, whereas with the first album, we were more tipping our hats to our fallen rock 'n' roll brothers."
Perry says: "'Rise' came from pure creative energy, which is just like playing live with the VAMPIRES. The record showcases everyone doing what they do best without anyone looking over our shoulders. There was no pressure or deadlines, allowing us to write and record an album that is one of the freest and most honest sounding records I've been part of. I can't wait to perform some of these tunes live for our fans."
"Rise" track listing:
01. I Want My Now
02. Good People Are Hard to Find
03. Who's Laughing Now
04. How the Glass Fell
05. The Boogieman Surprise
06. Welcome to Bushwackers (feat. Jeff Beck + John Waters)
07. The Wrong Bandage
08. You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory
09. Git From Round Me
10. Heroes
11. A Pitiful Beauty
12. New Threat
13. Mr. Spider
14. We Gotta Rise
15. People Who Died
16. Congratulations
HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES will embark on a short U.S. tour in early May. Completing the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES live lineup will be rock star musician friends Glen Sobel (ALICE COOPER) on drums, Chris Wyse (THE CULT) on bass, and Buck Johnson (AEROSMITH) on keyboard and vocals.
In 1969, on the Sunset Strip at the legendary club, the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the original Vampires.
Cooper and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again — minus the drinking. Cooper and Depp were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires. An environment was born for great artists to hang, laugh, and play together.
As Yahoo Music said, "The word 'supergroup' gets thrown around a lot these days, but truly, it doesn't get much super-er than HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES."

ROB HALFORD Says GLENN TIPTON Has Started 'Making Riffs' For Next JUDAS PRIEST AlbumJUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford says that Glenn Tipton has commenced the songwriting process for the follow-up to last year's "Firepower" album.
The guitarist announced his retirement from touring in February 2018 after revealing his unfortunate diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. He passed on the torch to the producer of the "Firepower" album, Andy Sneap.
Asked in a new interview with "Do You Know Jack?" if fans can look forward to another PRIEST studio album in the not-too-distant future, Halford replied (hear audio below): "Absolutely. In fact, Glenn's back in the U.K. now making riffs and going through… We have massive archives of riffs. It never stops. That's the joy of PRIEST in terms of creativity — we never seem to slow down. And when you get a successful record like 'Firepower', that motivates you even further. Any band will tell you that. You feed off the energy of what your fans are giving you. You wanna see your fans again and you wanna bring your fans something different next time. So that means making another metal song, which, amplify that by 10 ideas, and you've got another album. So that's the plan. There will be another album from PRIEST in the very near future."
Tipton was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disorder five years ago, after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier. The guitarist, who is now 71 and has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live.
Glenn has appeared onstage with PRIEST many times following his retirement, always performing the same fan-favorite tracks "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law" and "Livin' After Midnight".
PRIEST's current touring lineup consists of Halford, guitarists Sneap and Richie Faulkner, drummer Scott Travis and founding member and bassist Ian Hill.
JUDAS PRIEST will return to the U.S. for a spring run with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP. The 32-date trek will kick off on May 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and wrap on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. 4

JUDAS PRIEST's IAN HILL On Relationship With K.K. DOWNING: 'Probably The Less Said, The Better'In a brand new interview with "Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon", JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill was asked if he could still have a friendship with fellow PRIEST co-founder K.K. Downing, who left the group in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance.
"Musically, we've parted company, really," Hill said (hear audio below). "I'm sure if I called him up and said, 'You fancy coming down the pub,' he'd say yes, I'm sure. I know he would. But I haven't had any contact with him over the last couple of years because we've been so busy. But I think, musically, we've parted ways, really. Probably the less said, the better. I'll get slated on Blabbermouth, probably, for saying anything. So I've gotta be careful. [Laughs]"
Last fall, Downing dismissed as a "load of bollocks" Hill's explanation for why K.K. wasn't invited to rejoin the band following Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from the road due to his battle with Parkinson's disease.
"We were like brothers; we went to infant school together and secondary school together, and we lived our career together," Downing said. "But I'm not totally happy about what's being said. Ian seems to be [saying] things like, 'None of the fans are missing K.K.,' and, 'Richie [Faulkner, Downing's replacement] has brought a new energy to the band.' And I'm going, 'Ian, dude, on that last tour, I was the energy. I slowed down because people weren't keeping up with me.'… So I'm thinking, Ian, get a grip with yourself, mate. You've just replaced the energy with some energy. Fine — well, great. But that's not moving forward, Ian."
Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease five years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but announced in February 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of PRIEST's latest album, "Firepower".
Last summer, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."
Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST following Tipton's decision to retire from touring. 8

SABATON History Channel Uploads "Saboteurs" - Norwegian Heavy Water Sabotage; VideoThe Sabaton History Channel has launched Episode 011 - "Saboteurs" - Norwegian Heavy Water Sabotage.
A message states: "As the scientific masterminds of the early 1940's discover the destructive capabilities of splitting atoms, some of them try to weaponise it. One special product is important in the creation of such a weapon: heavy water. The Norwegians have a plant that produces heavy water at Vemork. The Allies, desperate to slow down the German progress towards the development of a nuclear weapon, decide to sabotage it. The Sabaton song 'Saboteurs' is about the dangerous mission that is conducted by the British and Norwegians in the winter of 1940 to sabotage the Norwegian Heavy Water production for the Nazis."
Check out the trailer for Sabaton's new album, The Great War, below.
The Great War will be released in summer 2019. This ninth full length record, that will see the light of day right in time for the band’s 20th anniversary, will be a concept album, covering stories from the First World War.
The Great War will be available worldwide through Nuclear Blast Records on July 19th and pre-orders start on April 19th, so watch out for limited and exclusive editions.
The band has started the recordings exactly 100 years after the end of the First World War (11/11/1918) and took three months of intensive work to complete the album together with their long-term producer and partner Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge Studios. Furthermore, the album has been mastered by Maor Appelbaum and the artwork was once again created by Peter Sallai.
“This is not the first time we sing about stories from this period in time, but now we felt the timing was right to make a full concept album about this war,” the band comments.
In addition, Sabaton posted this trailer revealing more details about the amazing artwork:
Side by side with the album, the Swedes have worked hard to make their 20th anniversary a very exciting year, and also started the Sabaton History Channel - a unique collaboration between the band themselves and multimedia historians Indy Neidell and Timeghost, capturing the power of social media to tell stories about the wars, battles and heroes behind Sabaton's songs. Subscribe to the YouTube channel here.
“This is the biggest album we have taken on so far, there is so much depth and story around the songs that we never had before,” Pär Sundström announces. “Expect many surprises as we have tried new things and we also went back in time to a concept we know a lot of you love. The Great War has been created side by side with the Sabaton History Channel to make 2019 the most exciting year in our 20 year history.”

Mexico's CERBERUS Set To Unleash Fire! In JulyHaving already shared the stage with household names like Metallica, Korn, Stone Sour, Bullet For My Valentine and Amon Amarth, Mexico’s biggest metal export Cerberus are on track for a global takeover, laying waste to the scene this summer with the release of their new album, Fire!, that’s due out on July 12th.
Today, Cerberus unveils the artwork and tracklisting for the record along with a music video for the first single, “The Ending”.
“This song was the first one to be ready for the album. it’s one of the heaviest and fastest songs we have! It has so much going on that we always thought it needed a strong lyrical theme, so it is about the Stephen King novel, The Secret Window, and it’s about a writer that loses his mind over his wife cheating on him.” – vocalist / guitarist Paul Wrath on “The Ending”
“This album means a lot to us, our original drummer got back in the band but at the same time our rhythm guitar player quit, so we had mixed feelings throughout the recording, still we’re super proud the way it came out. We had the opportunity to work with people we’ve always admired so much! So that was definitely a dream came true. We knew we needed the best team for working on the best music we’ve done so far. So, we knew we needed to be the best performers we could as well, so we put 110% in every aspect of the recording of this album for it to be the best we could deliver.” - vocalist / guitarist Paul Wrath on the creation of Fire!
Tracklisting:
"The Ending"
"Off Limits"
"Lust For Blood"
"Jaeger"
"Self Made Hell"
"Last Dance"
"Saint Pride"
"I’m Fire"

"Forever"
Fire! was recorded at Twilight Sound Studios by Paul Wrath, Akashsa Sound Lab in Mexico City by Güido Laris and El Cielo Recording Studio in Monterrey by Jim Monti (Metallica, Korn, Slipknot), and Adrian “Rojo” Treviño. The record was mixed by 5-time Grammy Award winning producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Halestorm, In Flames) and mastered at Sterling Sound by Ted Jensen (Pantera, Deftones, Slipknot). The record’s bonus track “STFU” was mixed by Metallica producer Greg Fidelman. Album artwork was done by Dan Scholz at Affliction Clothing.
Formed by Paul Wrath at the age of 15, Cerberus found their footing in 2014 with the release of their debut album Otura Ka. Over the next few years, the band quickly became one of Mexico’s biggest metal acts with several singles and shows with the likes of Metallica, HIM, Steel Panther and KnotFest Mexico among others. Now armed with their most explosive record to date, there’s no stopping them. Join the Cerberus Order!

GLENN DANZIG's Collection Of ELVIS PRESLEY Covers To Be Released In The FallGlenn Danzig's long-awaited collection of Elvis Presley covers, appropriately titled "Danzig Sings Elvis", is scheduled for a fall release.
Last fall, Danzig told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show that he wanted to play "a few intimate shows" in support of "Danzig Sings Elvis". "Every time I'd have downtime, or if I was working on soundtrack stuff, I would just record another Elvis track or two," he said. "So what started out as an EP, I now have more than enough for a full album; I have extra songs that won't even make it on the record. So I'm really gonna have to sit down and pick the songs that I really want on the record. But it came out really good; I can't wait for everyone to hear it. A lot of people ask me about it all the time when I'm on the road. So it will be nice to get it out in some period in 2019 and do some of those little intimate shows I was talking about."
Danzig previously covered Presley's "Trouble" on his eponymous band's "Thrall-Demonsweatlive" EP in 1993. He also recorded a version of "Let Yourself Go" for 2015's "Skeletons".
"Elvis is actually kind of how I got into music," Glenn told Rolling Stone in 2015 interview. "When I was a kid, I was cutting school pretending I was sick and I would lie at home watching old movies, and 'Jailhouse Rock' came on with Elvis. I was, like, 'I want to do this. This is great.' And that's how I veered to music."
Regarding how he came to cover "Let Yourself Go", Danzig said: "It's a song that a lot of people may or may not be familiar with, but he actually liked it so much he put it on the ''68 Comeback Special'. It's just a cool song I've always liked. I knew I could do something really cool with it. I didn't want to do the obvious Elvis song, you know? You don't have to highlight an Elvis song, everyone's heard them, this is just probably a lesser known song of his thousands of songs that everybody knows. I like his delivery, his voice. He's not just standing there, he's moving around. I like that. I don't like singers who just stand there. It's boring to me. I like singers who are really getting into it and showing you they're getting into it. I think he has all of that."
In other news, Danzig has just put the finishing touches on the script for his next film, which will be a "vampire spaghetti western." Glenn will direct the movie, the casting for which will begin shortly.
Last summer, Danzig signed a feature film agreement with Cleopatra Entertainment, a division of the Los Angeles independent record label Cleopatra Records. Danzig penned, directed and composed music for the feature film which was structured as an anthology splitting its running time between three individual characters/storylines based on Danzig's own popular Verotik comic book characters.
DANZIG was formed in 1987 after Glenn's involvement with horror-punks the MISFITS and gothic hard rockers SAMHAIN.
DANZIG's latest album, "Black Laden Crown", came out in May 2017 via Evilive Records/Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
