POP EVIL Releases Music Video For 'Be Legendary'POP EVIL has released a new music video for the song "Be Legendary". It marks the fourth clip the band has released from its latest, self-titled album, whcih came out last year.
POP EVIL once again teamed up with American film director Columbia Tatone. The group previously collaborated with her on the videos for "A Crime To Remember", "Colors Bleed" and "Waking Lions". "Be Legendary" currently sits at No. 11 on the Active Rock chart.
"When we were first writing this song, it started with this addictive-yet-hypnotic guitar riff," says frontman Leigh Kakaty. "Suddenly I could see our fans coming together as one. I just felt like this was going to be a great opportunity to write an anthemic type of lyrical song that could positively motivate people. Now we see all our fans posting on social media how this song motivates them in their daily lives. Plus, to see how passionate they are whenever they hear us perform it live. Time will tell just how big this song can become."
Tatone weighs in: "This story is for the underdogs. It's about friendship and togetherness. A reminder that although life doesn't always 'play fair,' know that our trials are a gift as you build sustaining character, discovering what you're indeed made of and made for as you earn the victory on the climb back up."
POP EVIL also teamed up with Swagtron, the No. 1 brand of light electric vehicles including ebikes and electric scooters. Swagtron supplied all of the bikes seen in the video, as well as Swagcycle ebikes as prizes for POP EVIL giveaways through radio stations nationwide coinciding with the band's current tour.
POP EVIL is in the middle of a headline tour in the U.S. with veteran comedian and former VH1 "That Metal Show" host Don Jamieson.
The band continues to live up to its road-dog status. While the current U.S. run is wrapping up, POP EVIL will head right back out on the road to Europe for 10 days. The band will then travel to Australia for the first time, performing for its fans in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane for a four-day back-to-back trek. They'll then return home to the U.S. for eight additional shows, including 98Rockfest in Charleston, South Carolina on April 12 and WJRR's Earthday Birthday in Orlando, Florida the following day.

LIZZY BORDEN Celebrates Valentine's Day With 'Obsessed With You' Music Video"Obsessed With You", the new Dave Brodsky-directed music video from Lizzy Borden, can be seen below. The track is taken from the theatrical rock frontman's first album in 11 years, "My Midnight Things", which was released last June via Metal Blade Records.
With the hard-and-heavy tracks of the album opening title cut "Obsessed With You" and "The Scar Across My Heart", the extended layoff between albums has not dulled his desire to rock and shock. "Although we have stayed busy touring all over the world, I missed being a recording artist. I look at the new album as a new beginning, I pushed the restart button on my career," Borden commented.
Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce "My Midnight Things" himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer. (Joey also handled all the drumming duties.) "I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that," Borden explained. "My approach is very different than what is happening in today's current sound."
Last year, Lizzy told RockEyez about the long gap between "Appointment With Death" and "My Midnight Things": "The reason I stopped making records [was] because we were touring, and we were having fun touring all over the world, playing different countries that we'd never played before. It was amazing, but I did miss being a recording artist. I stopped recording because the industry collapsed, and all we had was the old record deals. The old record deal that I had was worthless — it didn't mean anything; it was impossible to even do. I did two records that way, 'Deal With The Devil' and 'Appointment With Death', with the old style of record deal, and then the industry completely imploded, and then it was just, 'Okay, I can't function this way.' I just resigned myself to playing the back catalog live, but Brian Slagel from Metal Blade Records had a meeting with me and convinced me that they had changed the game. The success that they've had has been amazing for an independent label. The proof was in the pudding on how they figured out how to rise above the ashes of the industry. There's a whole different system in place, and he talked me into making records again."
"My Midnight Things" was mixed by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, ADELE, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (DAVID BOWIE, ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON, TOM PETTY).

Video Premiere: BEAST IN BLACK's 'From Hell With Love'The official music video for "From Hell With Love", the title track of the sophomore album from BEAST IN BLACK, can be seen below. The disc was released on February 8 via Nuclear Blast.
BEAST IN BLACK is the Helsinki, Finland-based metal group led by former BATTLE BEAST guitarist and main songwriter Anton Kabanen.
The follow-up to 2017's "Berserker" was once again recorded in Anton's Sound Request Studio, and true to the motto "never change a winning team," the cover artwork was created by Roman Ismailov, who worked on "Berserker" as well as the first record Kabanen wrote with BATTLE BEAST, "Steel" (2012).
In a recent interview with Hardwired, Anton stated about the '80s rock and pop ovetones on "From Hell With Love": "Songwriting is always a natural process. You just write what you hear in your head, so it's more of a listening process. When you write something, you try to listen to the song and what it needs, and just put it there. I don't know how clear this explanation is, but that's how it is for me more or less. The elements that are there that make it '80s… I believe in the '80s they made a lot of evergreens. It's not actually about me believing it, it's the fact that there are lots of evergreen hits coming from that time. I listened to a lot of that stuff during my life. And I like it, which is why it comes naturally when you absorb the things you like the most — it's there inside you. And when you write, it comes from the subconscious, a musical idea you can't really pinpoint at the moment of writing. But you still write it, because you think it sounds cool. And the choice of instrumentation, what kind of keyboard sounds. It's a matter of taste as well. I just really like the '80s soundscape and the instrument sounds, mainly the keyboards. And also all of the band members are fans of the '80s music. We love melodic music very much, so it's only natural for us to make an album like this. We didn't deliberately try to do an '80s album. It just happened that after the selection of the songs the wholeness ended up being strongly '80s. But I never thought, 'Hey, let's make a super '80s album.' It's just how it turned out."
"From Hell With Love" track listing:
01. Cry Out For A Hero
02. From Hell With Love
03. Sweet True Lies
04. Repentless
05. Die By The Blade
06. Oceandeep
07. Unlimited Sin
08. True Believer
09. This Is War
10. Heart Of Steel
11. No Surrender
Bonus tracks (digipak and 2LP only!)
12. Killed By Death (MOTÖRHEAD cover)
13. No Easy Way Out (ROBERT TEPPER cover)
Kabanen was dismissed from BATTLE BEAST in February 2015 due to what was described at the time as "insurmountable disagreements" with the other members of the band. 4

GARY HOEY Debuts Lyric Video For "Don't Come Crying" Featuring IAN HOEYMascot Label Group and Gary Hoey have announced a March 15th global release date for Neon Highway Blues via Provogue Records. The album’s eleven tracks display Hoey’s confidence and assuredness alongside the freshness of someone who's still in the process of discovery and refinement. A lyric video for the song "Don't Come Crying", featuring Ian Hoey, can be found below.
Hoey self-produced the album at his New Hampshire based home studio, while also enlisting friends Eric Gales, Lance Lopez. Josh Smith and his 17-year-old son Ian for guest appearances.
He shares, “I really wanted to make sure this album had a lot of Blues on it. I kept sticking to the Blues and listening to the classic players, all the Kings, Albert King, Freddie King, BB King, and finish with some Burger King (laughing)…tried to get that to be a focus of this record -- and still put some songs for that my long-time, die-hard fans expect; instrumentals and some rockin' Zeppelin type stuff. There's definitely a variety here."
Hoey’s 21st album, Neon Highway Blues, kicks off with "Under the Rug," a funky, Jeff Beck style workout with Eric Gales. Up next is the dynamic 6:29 slow blues "Mercy of Love," with Josh Smith, with biting guitar solos, Hoey gets his Texas swing on for "Still Believe in Love" and settles into some roadhouse shuffles on "Your Kind of Love," and "Damned If I Do," is a big, stomping Blues rocker with Lance Lopez trading licks. And those majestic instrumentals he mentioned? Check out "Almost Heaven," "Waiting on the Sun" and the cinematic title track, all showcases of virtuosity that complement the grittier fare around them.
A very personal highlight for Hoey is "Don't Come Crying," an aching blues track that features his son Ian Hoey, then only 16, planting his flag in the family business. "I'm so blown away my son is actually on the record," Hoey says. "He loves the blues. I said, 'If it turns out good enough, I'll have you on the record, and he did a great job. After it was mixed and I listened to it. I totally forgot where he was playing and where I was playing. It brought tears to my eyes."
Neon Highway Blues "wasn't a quick record to make," nor was it easy, according to Hoey, and displays the care that came with the time spent on it. "I always say that's why they call it the blues, because it ain't easy," he notes. The album took about a year and a half, he estimates, much of it done during gaps in his heavy touring schedule. "I just kept going in and trying to come up with the right licks or the right lyrics, and some days it just wouldn't come," Hoey recalls. "It was really about staying in there and trying things, abandoning some ideas, going on to new ideas. There was a lot of that on this record. I'm kind of a stickler for making sure I'm happy with it -- even though I had people breathing down my neck to get it done."
Neon Highway Blues will, of course, take Hoey back on the highways and byways for plenty of touring and playing, well, the blues -- and more. He can't yet predict where the next road will take him, but Hoey is confident it will be an adventure. "My son and I were talking about new music, some new technique I just found on guitar, and he said dad, 'You've been playing 44 years and still get excited.' I was like, 'Yeah, man, that's the amazing thing about music -- you never really get there. If you think you're there, that's when you’re in trouble because it’s all about the journey."
Neon Highway Blues is available to pre-order now and will be in stores March 15th. Pre-orders for autographed copies will also be available to purchase through the garyhoey.com store soon. Pre-order the album here.

FIND ME Streaming New Song "Straight For Eternity"Find Me are streaming the new song "Straight For Eternity", featured on their upcoming third album, Angels In Blue, out on February 22nd via Frontiers Music Srl. Listen below, and pre-order the album here.
Vocalist Robbie LaBlanc on the new album: "I really like our first album, but I like Dark Angel better than the first one. I have to say that I love our new one the best of all three so far. I hope everyone else agrees, haha. There are some really amazing songs on this record and Daniel stripped the production down a bit on this one, which I really like. I had a lot of fun on this album vocally and I think you’ll hear that in the tracks. They were a joy to sing and there wasn’t one key change on any demo that was presented. It was like the songs were written right for me to sing them. Really, really cool!"
Songwriter, drummer, and producer Daniel Flores adds, "Like always, everything is built around Robbie's voice and range. Carefully structuring all arrangements around the melodies, crafting a powerhouse for every song. I think we have nailed down what that means for Find Me's melodic rock approach. Third time's the charm!"
Of tracks from the album they are particularly fond of, Flores says, "As a producer I tend to fall in love with all songs on the records we do, but the songs 'Desperate Dreams' and 'No Tears In Paradise' are two favorites." With LaBlanc adding, that "'Waiting For A Lifetime' and 'Show Me What You’d Die For' are two that quickly stand out in my mind as favorites. 'No Tears in Paradise' as well. I love our cover of 'Desperate Dreams' by Survivor, I thought it came out really nice and hopefully a great tribute to Jimi Jamison."
Find Me is an ongoing collaboration between Swedish musician, songwriter and producer Daniel Flores (Issa, The Murder of My Sweet) and singer Robbie LaBlanc from Blanc Faces. The partnership was put together by Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino with a vision to unleash yet another AOR behemoth from the label. Mission accomplished! Find Me’s debut album, Wings Of Love, and the follow-up release Dark Angel were greeted with rave fan and critical reviews, with fans left begging for more music from the duo. No demand could have been easier to fulfill as Daniel and Robbie simply love working together. The result of their latest collaboration is Angels In Blue. Once again, a delightful and massive melodic rock album full of mighty, anthemic AOR songs with Robbie’s soaring lead vocals and amazing performances from Daniel Flores and guitarist Philip Lindstrand. Sonically, this powerhouse album sits in between the classic sound of Journey and Giant and newcomers like W.E.T and Eclipse. Yet another unmissable album for the Melodic Rock/AOR crowd from Frontiers.
"Robbie and I really hope you can hear the sweat and tears we have endured during the making of this record. Every finished record is a miracle in the making and this one in particular was hard to make. Thank God it all came through in the end. This is for you guys, the fans who make my work feel like a walk in the park everyday," says Flores.
"I’m really excited Find Me's third album is coming out. I hope the fans love it and I want to express my great respect to all the guys in the band: Phil, Michael, Daniel, Johnny, Rolf, Soren, and all the great writers like Alessandro Del Vecchio and Michael Palace. What a great bunch of musicians and talented, talented people. I am very lucky to be involved with such beautiful and talented people. God bless you all," concludes LaBlanc.

WHITESNAKE: Complete 'Flesh & Blood' Album Details Revealed; 'Shut Up & Kiss Me' Video ReleasedFresh off celebrating their 40th anniversary, rock legends WHITESNAKE return with their latest studio album, "Flesh & Blood". This album follows the 2011 critically acclaimed studio album "Forevermore" and 2015's "The Purple Album", a reimagining of DEEP PURPLE classics from WHITESNAKE mastermind's David Coverdale's time in that band. The 13 original, visceral tracks on "Flesh & Blood", the band's 13th studio album, are, luckily for you dear reader, "all killer, no filler", as the saying goes.
But would you expect anything less from the 'Snakes?
Coverdale, the mastermind behind WHITESNAKE and co-composer of "Shut Up & Kiss Me" with guitarist Reb Beach, said "that after the intense darkness of our last video, 'Burn', if anything, it's 'light' snake, you know? We've got some really dark energy going on in the world right now, so we're gonna write and record a fun knees-up song about falling in love with a fabulous babe. You're over-talking, over-compensating and she just looks at you, takes the reins and says 'shut up and kiss me!' and that's it!! My video director and creative partner Tyler Bourns and I discussed a great storyline for the video, which involves a surprise guest: my fabulous old white Jaguar. We ended up cleaning and detailing it, as it has been in storage since I moved to Lake Tahoe, then we dusted off my old turquoise silk jacket from the original 'Here I Go Again' video and I was thinking, 'Man, this is going to be fun!' It's a respectful acknowledgment and positive nod to the past, just fun stuff."
Joining Coverdale on "Flesh & Blood" is the powerhouse band comprised of Reb Beach and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Michael Devin on bass, Tommy Aldridge on drums, and Michele Luppi on keyboards.
Since joining the band four years ago, and just in time for 2015's "The Purple Album", Chicago native Joel Hoekstra has really come into his own, not only as a highly impressive axe-slinger, but also as a very accomplished songwriter too, co-writing six of the songs for "Flesh & Blood" with singer David Coverdale. Of course, Joel's talents are hardly surprising, considering he's the son of two classical musicians.
Guitarist Reb Beach, who originally joined WHITESNAKE in 2002, has stepped up to become the group's bandleader and guides the band to implement Coverdale's musical vision. As well as bringing his impressive musical chops to the band, Reb has co-written five songs on the new album, the fourth studio album he has appeared on, commencing with 2008's highly acclaimed "Good To Be Bad".
It was the "Good To Be Bad" follow-up, "Forevermore" (2011), that saw the debut of bassist Michael Devin. The New Englander's four-string-depth-charge-bass-bombs definitively underpin and drive the sound of WHITESNAKE in the 21st century.
Rounding out the rhythm section is David's longest serving 'Snake, the renowned drummer and unstoppable percussionist Tommy Aldridge, who has been with WHITESNAKE in some capacity for 30 years. Tommy made his debut with WHITESNAKE way back in 1987 in the "Still Of The Night" video, becoming a mainstay behind the kit for successive albums and tours.
Last, but certainly not least, the band is completed by the inventive keyboards and vocals of Italian maestro Michele Luppi, who made his live debut in 2015, as documented on "The Purple Tour" live CD/DVD (2018).
The current incarnation of the band carries on the long and unwavering tradition of mainman David Coverdale being surrounded by cream of the crop players who go all in to bring fans the best hard rock humanly possible. "Flesh & Blood" will be released May 10, 2019 via Frontiers Music Srl in multiple formats.

LED ZEPPELIN Partners With VANS For New Shoe LineLED ZEPPELIN has teamed up with the Vans clothing company to launch officially licensed shoes.
Two versions of ZEPPELIN shoes will be made available. First up, the Era features a black leather upper emblazoned with the symbols featured in the album art for "Led Zeppelin IV". Second, the Sk8-Hi features the image of the Hindenburg from the band's eponymous 1969 debut. The will also be what looks to be two Vans x Led Zeppelin t-shirts and a baseball cap.
ZEPPELIN last performed in December 2007 in London with drummer Jason Bonham filling in for his late father John Bonham.
Guitarist Jimmy Page explained that, quite simply, LED ZEPPELIN was built to stand out from everything that came before and after it. "When I formed LED ZEPPELIN, I formed it with the idea and the ethos that it was going to change music. That's what I wanted it to do — and it clearly did. And it brought to the forefront these master craftsmen that were involved with that band."
Page told The Pulse Of Radio that ZEPPELIN's initial influences from across the Atlantic solidified the type of music they would create over the years. "The fact is, all four of us, were so influenced by American music, and for me, the music that I was hearing in the sort of '50s over here, it was all a reinterpretation of what was going on in America. So we, sort of, had this American music, sort of coming in to us, and we were accessing it through the radio and records. That's a major part of why we became what we were — which is musicians and became totally seduced by this whole movement in music."

Original AC/DC Frontman DAVE EVANS - "BON SCOTT Was Very Lucky To Join A Band That Was Red Hot Like AC/DC"; AudioJimmy Kay from Canada's The Metal Voice spoke to former AC/DC singer Dave Evans about the setlist on his world tour, the formation of AC/DC, the music he recorded with AC/DC and the shows he played with the band. Evans also debunked many Angus Young and Bon Scott myths. Listen below.
Asked what Bon Scott was like back in the day, Evans reveals: "Bon Scott was very lucky to join a band that was red hot like AC/DC. Bon was a nice enough fellow, there was never any hassle between me and him. Bon was a guy from the 1960's, Bon was 29 at the time, which was ancient when you are 21 years old. Bon was like a hippie. Bon was washed up at the time, he had a band called Fraternity - they broke up he got a chance to join AC/DC and he did a great job. Bon Scott was an actor 'cause his first band he was in, the Valentines, they were a pop band and he used to wear his satin clothes and he was a pop guy and he did that well. Then when the hippie era came in he joined Fraternity and he used to look like a hippie and he did it well. Then when he joined AC/DC they were a rock band, then Bon took the shirt off and did the rock thing. Bon Scott was an actor that could play different roles, he was very good at show business, he knew what was required and he did a really good job and of course he wrote some great songs." 4

HECATE ENTHRONED Reveal “Erebus And Terror” Lyric Video Featuring SARAH JEZEBEL DEVAWith Embrace Of The Godless Aeon, their first record in five years, proving to be one of the best-reviewed extreme metal releases of the year to date, the UK-based symphonic blackened death metal group Hecate Enthroned have unveiled a lyric video for the album track “Erebus And Terror,” which features guest vocals by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle Of Filth, Therion, Mortiis).
Embrace Of The Godless Aeon, which features cover artwork by Nestor Avalos (Bloodbath, Rotting Christ, The Black Dahlia Murder), can be ordered now on CD and red splatter vinyl at www.m-theoryaudio.com/store. A limited-edition deluxe box set that includes exclusive purple vinyl and cassette editions of the album, a signed photo card and other collectibles is also available.
Tracklisting:
"Ascension"
"Revelations In Autumn Flame"
"Temples That Breathe"
"Goddess Of Dark Misfits"
"Whispers Of The Mountain Ossuary"
"Enthrallmentv
"The Shuddering Giant" (digital bonus track on vinyl edition)
"Silent Conversations With Distant Stars"
"Erebus And Terror"
Embrace Of The Godless Aeon - the band's first recording with vocalist Joe Stamps, who joined the band in 2015 - sees the group continue to deftly mix black with death, modern with classic and extreme with symphonic. The album, which features guest vocals on three songs by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle Of Filth, Therion, Mortiis), was co-produced by Dan Abela (Voices, The Antichrist Imperium).
Says Dylan Hughes, “This album with its epic sweeping orchestration and heavy aggression represents a new chapter for us cementing the chemistry of the current lineup and our partnership with M-Theory. A welcome return from Sarah Jezebel Deva hints to the grandiose flavor of earlier releases, but this time, it's tempered with a guitar and drum sound forged from solid steel and then edged by a razor-sharp production from Dan Abela. The summoning of unholy flame and terror that is the cover art is an oil painting commissioned from in-demand satanic artist Nestor Avalos and begins your visceral journey through cold bleak landscapes, crushing tormented seas and searing shards of heavy metal.”
Originally co-founded in Wales by guitarist Nigel Dennen in the mid-1990s, Hecate Enthroned is dedicated to delivering their own brand of evil metal with little regard to politics or the trends of popular demand. The group's 1997 debut, the Andy Sneap-produced The Slaughter Of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty (Blackend Records), was a seminal release in the then-burgeoning orchestral black metal movement. Since then, several full-lengths and EPs and numerous live performances have firmly established the band as one of extreme metal's most important voices, a sentiment that Embrace Of The Godless Aeon firmly reinforces.

KETZER Reveals Details Of Cloud Collider Album; “No Stories Left” Single StreamingOn April 12th, German extreme metallers Ketzer will release their fourth full-length, Cloud Collider, via Metal Blade Records.
Looking on Ketzer's musical history, change is what has always defined their sound. From thrashing riffs to atmospheric blackened tunes, Ketzer is a band that has always aimed to defy genres. So what can we expect on Cloud Collider? Nothing more than a ride on a storm cloud, followed by a soft breeze in your face and, finally, a cleansing rainfall. Ketzer's fourth effort will surprise many as a shift into yet another direction, combining many of the band's essential trademarks and carrying them one step further: Raging drum beats, harsh and powerfully thrashing riffs, as well as epic melodies that will haunt you long after the last tone has faded away. After years of intense work, Ketzer have created an album that can only be described as a milestone in their career and a clean break from all expectations: this album is a storm.
For three years now, Ketzer has been working on something new, and the result is something new indeed: somehow linking all trademarks essential to the sound of Ketzer, now and then, but taking it all one big step further. These new tunes might well be the strongest Ketzer songs to date. Recorded at Markus Stock's infamous Klangschmiede Studio E as well as Laurent Teubls Sculpt Sound Studios in autumn 2018, the suitable visual expression for this new effort has been found by cover artist Adam Burke and illustrator Johannes Stahl.
Ketzer checked in with the following comment about Cloud Collider: "Lately, we have been possessed by storms. First there is a breeze, then the sky darkens: A sense of electric energy starts to fill the air. A sense of sheer power, building up, waiting to erupt. Cloud Collider will strike you like a force of nature. When recording an album after months of hard work, blood and sweat, it is always our greatest wish, accompanied by the most terrifying fears, that the recordings will be able to 'catch' the songs and their certain, special spark. When we hear the final result for the first time, we have to think: 'THIS is how the next chapter must sound'. Only then, we can be satisfied. With all the more pride and joy we can now say about 'Cloud Collider', that both is the case, and it is without a single doubt! THIS is how Ketzer has to sound in 2019! It is new and it is old and it is everything. It is fast and it is slow and we just can't wait to bring these songs to the stage. This album is a piece of work that we feel embodies all aspects that stand and stood for the sound of Ketzer now and then. An album that manages to still go one step further to form something new!"
The album's first single, "No Stories Left", comes with a special guest appearance by the legendary Proscriptor McGovern of Absu fame, who not only lent his striking voice to the track, but also added the following comment: "It is with inordinate honor to announce my co-vocalist appearance on 'No Stories Left': the first single to be issued on Ketzer's upcoming album 'Cloud Collider'. What I contemplate = I uproariously touch with voice. What I enter into imagination = I make myself one with; however, a tower can fall twice."

Former GILLAN And OZZY OSBOURNE Guitarist BERNIE TORMÉ Is 'Extremely Ill' And In Intensive CareFormer GILLAN and OZZY OSBOURNE guitar legend Bernie Tormé has been hospitalized with double pneumonia.
The news of the Irish musician's health issues was broken via his Facebook page earlier today.
The post reads: "Bernie Tormé is extremely ill in intensive care with virulent double pneumonia. We ask for your prayers."
According to the University of Virginia Health System, double pneumonia (sometimes called bronchial pneumonia) simply refers to infections in two (of the three) lobes of the lungs, and generally indicates a more severe infection that often requires hospitalization.
Tormé is known for stepping in and saving the day for Ozzy when Randy Rhoads tragically died. Ozzy and Bernie hadn't seen each other since the early '80s (after Bernie left the band) before reconnecting last summer at the Sweden Rock Festival. Tormé also toured the world as the lead axeman in GILLAN and formed DESPERADO with TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and ex-IRON MAIDEN drummer Clive Burr, as well as fronting his own bands ELECTRIC GYPSIES and TORME (featuring Phil Lewis of L.A. GUNS/GIRL fame).
A young Zakk Wylde witnessed Bernie playing with Ozzy at Madison Square Garden in New York City on the one of the very few dates Bernie did with Ozzy. Zakk called Bernie "his hero" and insisted on a selfie when they met at Sweden Rock.
Ozzy told Rolling Stone about meeting up with Bernie at Sweden Rock: "I haven't seen him for a fucking thousand years. Someone told me he was outside my dressing room. I went, 'No.' He said, 'I'll never forget the time I played with you, Ozzy. It was a lot of fun.' I couldn't remember what he looks like. It had been that long."
Last November, Tormé released a double album called "Shadowland". Recorded last year at Barnroom Studios, the disc was the first release from Bernie's new trio. The album also featured a guest appearance from Bernie's former GILLAN bandmate Colin Towns.
Tormé has recorded over 24 albums in his career to date as a solo artist or bandmember.

'Lords Of Chaos' Actor RORY CULKIN Says MAYHEM's EURONYMOUS Was 'A Bit Of A Sweetheart'The English-language film "Lords Of Chaos", based on true events in the Norwegian black metal music scene in the early 1990s, has just opened in theaters and will be made available on demand on February 22.
Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund (METALLICA, RAMMSTEIN) directed the film, which is being released by Gunpowder and Sky, and is co-produced by VICE Studios, 20th Century Fox, Scott Free Productions and Insurgent Media.
"Lords Of Chaos" is described as "the terrifying story based on real events about a dream-turned-nightmare for a group of teenagers who spiral out of control." The movie follows the life of Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth, the founding member of MAYHEM who was murdered in 1993 by Kristian "Varg" Vikernes (BURZUM). In the movie, Euronymous "becomes fixated on creating true 'Norwegian black metal' music with his band MAYHEM, and creates a phenomenon by using shocking stunts to put the band's name on the map. But as the lines between publicity and reality start to blur, acts of arson, violence and a vicious murder shock the nation."
The movie stars Rory Culkin ("Scream 4") as Euronymous, Emory Cohen ("The Place Beyond The Pines") as Varg, Anthony De La Torre ("Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales") as Hellhammer, Sky Ferreira ("The Green Inferno") as Ann-Marit, Jack Kilmer (Val Kilmer's son) as Per Yngve "Dead" Ohlin, and Valter Skarsgard (Stellan Skarsgard's son) as Faust. That cast is joined by Sam Coleman as Metalion, Jonathan Barnwell as Necrobutcher, Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht as Blackthorn, Lucian Charles Collier as Occultus, Andrew Lavelle as Fenriz, and James Edwin as Manheim. Culkin and Ferreira were visible in METALLICA's "ManUNkind" video, which was helmed by Åkerlund and which contains scenes from the movie.
During a brand new question-and-answer session with BUILD Series (see video below), Culkin stated about how he prepared for the role: "With Euronymous, I spoke to people that hung out with him at the time. And there's so many photos of these guys. They were really good at documenting themselves. So there was a lot of photographs. And Jonas even made a picture script — it was like a 600-page script — and every scene was assigned a photo from that time. So there was a lot to work with.
"At first, it was hard to keep track of all these characters, with names like Hellhammer and Necrobutcher and things like that," he continued. "But it was the photos that was the most important to me. Because when Euronymous was posing in the photos, he was trying to look scary and he was trying to look evil. But when you see him in the background in the photos, he was like a little sweetie — he was giggling and stuff like that. So it was interesting to try to piece that together — what he wanted to show the world and then what he really was, which I think was a bit of a sweetheart… He was the self-proclaimed leader of Norwegian black metal, and there's something fun to that — moving heavy things without lifting a finger, and things like that. It's pretty fun to have a crew of giant long-haired dudes to do your bidding."
Jonas said that he wanted to keep "Lords Of Chaos" raw and steeped in the undramatic nature of reality, most notably in the murder scenes. "I kind of had that attitude to everything in the movie," he explained. "I wanted to be as true as I possibly could to everything… And these extreme ups and downs in the story, it's very important to feeling for the characters and understanding. The good thing, like Rory said, they were very good at taking pictures. There was a lot of research material for us. And for the murder scenes, there was police reports, so those were actually the easiest ones for me to research. I knew what happened. I knew how it happened. So that was easy, to follow that… Again, I just wanted it to be as real as I possibly could. And we shot it old school too — it's all pumps and blood and prosthetics. So we did it very old-school way, which kind of makes it look even better, I think."
Åkerlund is the original drummer of BATHORY, one of the first black metal bands, who made his mark directing music videos for artists from Madonna and THE ROLLING STONES to MAROON 5 and Beyoncé. These have won him a host of awards, including several Grammys, an MTV VMA, MVPA Hall Of Fame award and more. Åkerlund has also directed a number of feature films, including cult favorite "Spun" starring Jason Schwartzman, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy and John Leguizamo.
Åkerlund told The Hollywood Reporter that he considers "Lords Of Chaos" to be his "first real movie." He explained: "I went deeper with this film than any of my other movies. I approached my other films like I did my music videos or commercials, like jobs. But 'Lords Of Chaos' I wrote myself, and it's a close, personal story. I know these people. All my best friends are still in the metal scene. Per was a friend. We were all shocked when he committed suicide. When the news of the church burnings came out, in 1993, I was already living in Los Angeles, but we all knew who was behind them. It took the police a lot longer to find out. I've been trying to get this movie made for a very long time — I've been pitching it around Hollywood for years."
Asked why it took so long to get the movie made, Åkerlund said: "Well, I always knew this was a hard sell. It still is, to be honest. It's asking a lot from an audience. It's a very dark story but I find it hard to have a story about music and young kids without adding humor. So it's really funny but it's definitely not a comedy. It has some horror elements — I tried to make the murder scenes as authentic and as close to real life as I could, reading the police reports for details — but it's definitely not a horror movie. The tone of the movie is all over the place, but when you see it, it comes together. In the end, I think of it more of a relationship drama. It's really about the story, almost a love story, between these characters."
The "Lords Of Chaos" movie is based on the "Lords Of Chaos: The Bloody Rise Of The Satanic Metal Underground" book, which was originally published in 1998 by Feral House U.S. A second edition followed in 2003, documenting black metal activities since 1997.
The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and currently holds a 75% fresh rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. 11

Once the gates have closed and all the patrons have gone home, the cast of the carnival comes to life. SISTERS OF SUFFOCATION Debut Official Music Video For "The Machine"Sisters Of Suffocation will release their new bone crushing album, Humans Are Broken, on March 1st via Napalm Records. Pre-order the album here, and watch a video for the track "The Machine" below.
The Eindhoven-based death metal squad are here to bring us the best of both worlds: the raw and primal force of old school death metal clashes with the sophisticated technicality and epic-melodic infusions of modern times. Now the already infamous quintet announces its second studio album. Humans Are Broken.
The underground pricked up its ears when the (back then) all-female newcomers unleashed debut EP Brutal Queen (2016) and full-length Anthology Of Curiosities (2017), but now the four sisters and one brother are aiming for bloodshed on a much bigger scale.

EDENBRIDGE To Release Dynamind Album This Year; Recordings UnderwayAustrian symphonic metal band, Edenbridge, will release their 10th studio album, Dynamind, this year via Steamhammer/SPV. Recordings are currently underway.
Guitaris/keyboardist Lanvall states: "The whole songwriting process for the new album took around 18 months and I soon realized, that we could bring the band sound to a new level. Our trademark sound of course is still there, nevertheless we have numerous interesting experiments on the album, where we explore new shores. Let it be the Irish sounding song "On The Other Side", the half-ballad "Tauerngold" with its doom elements, or the 12 minute-long epic track "The Last Of His Kind". Even after the long songwriting and arranging process I am still super excited with the new songs!"
Vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher adds: "As Lanvall already mentioned, the recordings to our new album are fully on and what I heard so far in the studio is more than promising. But this is only the beginning and it already sounds huge. So I am really burning to be behind the microphone soon to contribute my part. Dynamind seems to have a very special energy and will probably turn much upside down. Be prepared!"
Updates to follow.

Additional dates will be announced in the coming months. Tickets for the U.S. shows go on sale Friday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. ET at all major ticketing outlets, with a special VIP pre-sale launching on Wednesday, February 13.
In 1974, Frank Zappa transformed his Los Angeles rehearsal space into a sound stage and cranked out some unbelievable performances seen and heard only by the camera operators in the room. The audio from these performances — locked away in the Zappa vaults for 44 years — will serve as the basis for what will be the world's most ambitious hologram tour to date. The "can't miss" concert spectacle is being produced in close cooperation with the Zappa Family Trust.
"The Bizarre World Of Frank Zappa" hologram tour band is comprised of former Zappa bandmates for this monumental series of shows. The touring unit boasts guitarists Ray White and Mike Keneally, bassist Scott Thunes, multi-instrumentalist Robert Martin, percussionist Ed Mann, and drummer and Zappa archivist Joe "Vaultmeister" Travers.
"As a futurist, and hologram enthusiast, Frank fearlessly broke through boundary after boundary as an artist and in honoring his indomitable spirit, we're about to do it again, 25 years after his passing," said Ahmet Zappa, EVP of business development for Eyellusion and co-trustee of the Zappa Family Trust.
"We're excited to world premiere a handful of Frank Zappa compositions; these mind-melting concerts we're putting together celebrate the music, often surreal imagery and humour synonymous with Frank. We will be pushing the limits of what anyone has seen holographically on stage before in a live venue. Circumstances, objects, places and subject matter from Frank's songs and imagination will be brought to life for the first time on stage. We are anthropomorphizing Frank's music utilizing various visual techniques, art styles, classic imagery from his album artwork and characters from his songs, culminating in one extremely bizarre, live music experience.
"My father and I actively discussed 3D and 'holography' and it was a concept he actively engaged in. He actually devoted half a chapter of his 'The Real Frank Zappa Book' to this subject. This is a love letter and a journey celebrating the genius artistry of Frank Zappa. On a personal note, I feel like I am finishing something my father started years ago. And let's not forget, Frank himself will be rocking his fans, alongside his bandmates like nobody's business."

MAX CAVALERA: 'I Really Don't Like Writing Lyrics'SOULFLY guitarist/vocalist Max Cavalera, who got his start fronting the legendary Brazilian thrash metal band SEPULTURA, has admitted to Heavy New York that he doesn't care much for the lyric-writing process. "I really don't like writing lyrics," he said (see video below). "It's totally a mandatory thing. It's like homework. For me, the fun part is riffs, and making the riffs is what I… that's my world. I'm born for that. And when it comes to lyrics, it's an agonizing process. And I know a lot of great stuff came out of it — really inspiring stuff for people, like [SEPULTURA's] 'Refuse/Resist' and [SOULFLY's] 'Eye For An Eye'. But it's not my favorite thing to do. When it's all put together, I like it; I enjoy it. When it clicks. Like, I was extremely happy when we finished the song 'Ritual' [the title track of SOULFLY's latest album], because, to me, 'Ritual' is the kind of song that I can put toe to toe with [SOULFLY's] 'Primitive' or 'Eye For An Eye' or [SEPULTURA's] 'Roots'. It's one of those. And then 'Dead Behind The Eyes', I put that toe to toe with [SEPULTURA's] 'Arise' or 'Beneath The Remains'. So it's definitely cool to see those songs come to life… But I'm not a big fan of writing lyrics — never been. I'm not much of a writing guy to start with. I don't write diaries. So it's kind of an unnatural thing. It's a bit mandatory, like homework, like you have to do it. The producer is like your teacher: 'C'mon, man. You've gotta do it.' But when you do it with somebody that cares, like ['Ritual' album producer] Josh [Wilbur], then it's cool. 'Cause we work on the words and change a lot of the stuff."
"Ritual" was released in October via Nuclear Blast. Cover artwork for the follow-up to 2015's "Archangel" was painted by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM). Additional booklet art was handled by Marcelo Vasco (SLAYER, HATEBREED, KREATOR), who also handled the package design.
SOULFLY's first tour in support of "Ritual" features support from KATAKLYSM, INCITE, CHAOSEUM, ALUKAH and SKINFLINT. 8

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Reveal “Stardust” Music Video, Short FilmThe Texas-based extreme progressive/power metal group Immortal Guardian have been described as “seriously epic”, so it's only fitting that the group's new music video for their song “Stardust” fits that same description. A riveting, special effects-laden five-minute hybrid of an Armageddon-like action movie and a telenovela, check it out below:
Featuring special effects by the Russian VFX company Great Heights Design (Witherfall, Nightrage, Noctem), “Stardust” was filmed last year on location in the West Texas desert. It stars vocalist Carlos Zema and Brazilian actress Bella Carrijo, a childhood friend who has starred in several independent films and Netflix original series. The on-set chemistry between the two was genuine, as just six months after the video was filmed, the pair were married.
On camera, however, Immortal Guardian were determined to avoid traditional clichés and make a music video to remember. To that end, the group – founded by Gabriel Guardian, whose uncanny ability to play guitar and keyboard simultaneously has been showcased on MTV and during a recent guest stint on tour with Powerglove – takes the viewer on an intense roller coaster that spans from the desert to outer space, with an ending twist that leaves the viewer suspended in disbelief.
The “Stardust” video is another feather in the cap for Immortal Guardian, whose acclaimed full-length debut, “Age Of Revolution,” was recently on limited-edition blue/black vinyl. (Copies are available via the M-Theory Audio webshop and Bandcamp.) Last month, the group embarked on a national tour with metal guitar icon Marty Friedman (Megadeth, Cacophony).
Hailing from the same state as guitar greats Dimebag Darrell and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Immortal Guardian proudly fly the flag of musical innovation and virtuosity for the Lone Star State. Over the past few years, the group has released two acclaimed EPs, Revolution Part I (produced by Roy Z of Halford/Bruce Dickinson fame) and Super Metal: Edition Z, that showcased a full-frontal assault of anthemic melodies, technical rhythms, furious shred and high-flying vocals by Brazilian vocalist Carlos Zema (ex-Outworld).
In support of their EPs, the group has made jaws drop on stages in not only their home state – where they've performed alongside some of the biggest names in metal, including Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Kamelot, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Slayer, Metal Church, Soilwork and Steve Vai – but also abroad in countries such as Brazil and Russia, and during high-profile performances at ESPN's X Games, South By Southwest and the Fun Fun Fun Fest.
In addition, Gabriel Guardian has developed an extensive following on YouTube, where his unique dual-instrument covers of classics by the likes of Iron Maiden, Pantera and Guns N' Roses have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. His virtuosity was also recently showcased on the MTV program Amazingness.

Video: AEROSMITH Performs At STEVEN TYLER's Second Annual 'Grammy Awards Viewing Party'Last night, iconic music legend and humanitarian Steven Tyler celebrated his second annual Grammy Awards Viewing Party to benefit Janie's Fund with over 500 friends and supporters, including Sharon Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Alice Cooper, and more at Raleigh Studios Hollywood. Hosted by Jane Lynch, the exclusive gala featured a live viewing of the 61st annual Grammy Awards telecast, three-course dinner by Crumble Catering, and an epic night of music with America's all-time top-selling rock 'n' roll band AEROSMITH.
The second annual event raised over $2.8 million dollars for Janie's Fund, a philanthropic initiative created by Steven Tyler in partnership with Youth Villages, one of America's leading nonprofits, to bring hope and healing to girls who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. Tyler first gave voice to this cause with his hit "Janie's Got A Gun", and his establishment of the fund ensures that these vulnerable girls will have an enduring voice for years to come. Since the November 2015 launch of Janie's Fund, the organization has raised nearly $8 million, directly helping more than 800 girls and providing more than 115,000 days of therapeutic care.
Additional celebrities, VIP guests and Janie's Fund supporters in attendance included Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, Audrina Patridge, Caitlyn Jenner, David Foster, Dinah Jane (recording artist), Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES) and Susan Holmes McKagan, Emile Hirsch (actor), Haley Reinhart (recording artist), Jesse Metcalfe (actor), Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich, Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh, Kim Petras (recording artist), Lauren Jauregui (recording artist), Nicole Scherzinger ("The Masked Singer"), Nuno Bettencourt (EXTREME), Rumer Willis (actress), Russell Dickerson (recording artist), Shep Gordon, Teddi Mellencamp ("Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills"), Terry Crews ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine"), Ty Dolla $ign (recording artist), The Sisterhood (Alyssa Bonagura and Ruby Stewart), X Ambassadors (Sam Harris, Casey Harris and Adam Levin) and more!
Following the star-studded red-carpet arrivals, Tyler hosted guests at an intimate cocktail reception — in signature Steven Tyler style — the Raleigh Studio sound stage was transformed into a rock 'n' roll living room complete with medieval wrought iron chandeliers with edison drop lights, plush lounges, and bookshelves filled with personal photos. Surrounding the room were never before released vintage photos of Tyler on whitewashed wooden planks.
During the gala, guests were entertained by master mentalist Lior Suchard, The London Essentials and Sesa Wo Suban, a West African drumming group featuring the girls supported by Janie's Fund. The night also featured moving speeches by Edie Allen and Janie's Fund ambassador Adriana Turmel who shared their personal stories of abuse and benefits of Youth Villages' programs.
Immediately following the telecast, the event featured an exciting live auction, conducted by Andrew Boose. The evening was capped off with AEROSMITH revving up the crowd with their classic hits "Janie's Got A Gun", "Sweet Emotion", "Cryin'", "Dream On" and more. The band closed its set with "Walk This Way" and was joined by Sharon Stone who accepted Tyler's dare to go up on stage to dance and play the harmonica.

MORBID ANGEL To Begin Work On New MusicMORBID ANGEL frontman Steve Tucker says that the band is preparing to begin the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2017's "Kingdoms Disdained" album.
"I'm gonna actually start writing some new music, and I think Trey [Azagthoth, guitar] will probably start writing some new music," Steve told Metal Wani in a new interview (hear audio below). "We'll probably do a couple of more tours throughout the year. We have some stuff that's being talked about now, but nothing concrete. It's that time. It's been a little bit over a year since the last album came out. I've kind of got the urge and desire myself to write some more music. So we'll start getting into that and continue doing shows."
Later this month, MORBID ANGEL and CANNIBAL CORPSE will join forces for the first time ever in America to co-headline the 2019 Decibel Magazine Tour. Rising Bay Area brutalizers NECROT and space-obsessed Denver death dealers BLOOD INCANTATION round out the bill. New York death metal icons IMMOLATION will join the final week of the tour as main support to MORBID ANGEL, as CANNIBAL CORPSE exits the tour after the New York City date.
Last April, Silver Lining Music released a special two-disc digipack edition of "Kingdoms Disdained", featuring seven instrumental demo tracks previously only available as part of the deluxe box set.
"Kingdoms Disdained" was released in December 2017 via Silver Lining Music in the U.S. and JVC in Japan. The disc, which reunites founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth with bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, was recorded at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida and produced by MORBID ANGEL with Erik Rutan (CANNIBAL CORPSE, HATE ETERNAL, SIX FEET UNDER, BELPHEGOR).
Joining Azagthoth and Tucker during the recording sessions for "Kingdoms Disdained" was drummer Scotty Fuller (ANNIHILATED; formerly of ABYSMAL DAWN)
MORBID ANGEL in January 2017 announced the addition of Dan Vadim Von (guitarist/frontman of the American death metal band VADIMVON) to the band's lineup on second guitar. He joined the group as the replacement for Norwegian guitarist Destructhor (a.k.a. Thor Anders Myhren), who left the band four years ago. 5
