DEATH POP RADIO Reimagine MODERN ENGLISH Hit “I Melt For You”

DEATH POP RADIO Reimagine MODERN ENGLISH Hit “I Melt For You”

Death Pop Radio has released their new single “I Melt With You”, a twisted take on the ‘80s mega-hit originally written and performed by Modern English. The song will be available on all major streaming services including Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify on August 20, 2021.

The band decided to release a studio version of this song after multiple live performances of the cover received rousing responses from audiences throughout the Midwest. Death Pop Radio’s rendition shows a heavier side of the band with staccato palm muted chords followed tightly by thumping double bass drums, but yet still manages to maintain the memorable pop feel to the chorus. The repeating melody in the verses originally performed by clean guitars are replaced by distorted keys with a four on the floor support.

“A unique twist to a popular song that will definitely turn some heads” - Jeffrey A. Swanson / President / Dark Star Records

“The original version of I Melt With You sounds pretty bright and happy at first listen, but there is an underlying sense of longing and obsession underneath the bubbles. This is the vibe we were trying to capture in our take.” - Dee J Nelson - Death Pop Radio

Death Pop Radio recently cracked the top 100 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock with their self-titled debut album via Dark Star Records.

Texas’ RELENT Reveal “Ghost” Video

Texas’ RELENT Reveal “Ghost” Video

San Antonio rockers Relent have debuted a new video for the track “Ghost,” released as a single in June.

Formed in early 2016, Relent released their first single, “Rise” in 2019. The track quickly became a fan favorite and set the scene for the release of the group’s 2020 debut, Heart Attack. With a unique, in-your-face style that is often compared to musical giants such as P.O.D., Sevendust, Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin, many fans find it hard to believe this fierce quintet proudly wears the “Christian band” tag. “Ghost” is a prime example of Relent’s ability to create aggressive music with a positive, spiritual message.

“In a time where demonology is accepted and welcomed with open arms, ‘Ghost’ reminds us of the one spiritual force that is undefeated and all-powerful,” the band says. “In the midst of the darkest times this world has ever seen, God’s voice still speaks to us, guiding us through the difficulty of life. He gives us strength we would never have on our own and empowers us to live life as conquerors instead of victims.”

“Ghost” is available via digital providers here .

Relent, who just wrapped up the Summer Slam Tour with Seventh Day Slumber and GFM, has built a strong following through passionate, intense live performances. Because of their pasts involving drug addictions and rough lifestyles, the members of Relent are also intensely dedicated to reaching people who struggle with similar addictions.

Stay tuned for more new music, coming this fall via Rockfest Records.

IRON MAIDEN Partners With ASDA Supermarkets To Launch Exclusive 'Senjutsu' Album Products

IRON MAIDEN Partners With ASDA Supermarkets To Launch Exclusive 'Senjutsu' Album Products

In a U.K. first, legendary British metallers IRON MAIDEN are celebrating the launch of the 17th studio album, "Senjutsu", with two other unique products for their fans. 226 of the Asda stores will carry a display unit with an exclusive album edition of Trooper's Sun & Steel Japanese lager and their very own album t-shirt featuring band icon, Eddie.

"IRON MAIDEN are an incredible British institution and the best in their field so it's really exciting for us to be able to reward their legions of fans with some fantastic products for the launch of their hugely anticipated new album, 'Senjutsu', on September 3rd," says Andrew Thompson, Asda's senior manager on entertainment.

Adds Warner Music's SVP commercial Derek Allen: "There are few bands in the world that can provide such a breadth of products that their fan base love and we're delighted that Asda respect music enough to partner with us across several sectors. Every MAIDEN studio album launch is an event and their fans get behind it like no other. This partnership offers something for everyone all in one place."

The limited-edition Sun & Steel re-branded Trooper Japanese lager is a must for craft beer drinkers, MAIDEN fans and collectors everywhere.

Trooper beer has now sold over 30 million pints around the world.

BMG will release "Senjutsu", IRON MAIDEN's first album in six years, on September 3. It was recorded in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Steve Harris. It was preceded on July 15 by an already highly acclaimed animated video for the first single "The Writing On The Wall" made by BlinkInk based on a concept by singer Bruce Dickinson with two former Pixar executives. It followed a month-long teaser campaign and global "treasure hunt" for clues about the track title and concept.

For "Senjutsu" — loosely translated as "tactics and strategy" — the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai themed cover artwork, based on an idea by bassist Steve Harris. With a running time of a little under 82 minutes, "Senjutsu", like their previous record "The Book Of Souls", will be a double CD/triple vinyl album.

"Senjutsu" marks MAIDEN's sixth album to be produced by Shirley, who has worked with MAIDEN for the past two decades.

In addition to MAIDEN, Shirley has collaborated with dozens of notable acts, including Joe Bonamassa, JOURNEY, DREAM THEATER and LED ZEPPELIN.

During the making of "The Book Of Souls", Dickinson was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor at the back of his tongue. He recorded all the vocals for the album with the tumor before undergoing treatment and making a full recovery in time for the LP's release in September 2

VILDHJARTA Announce New Album; Two Songs Streaming

VILDHJARTA Announce New Album; Two Songs Streaming

After releasing när de du älskar kommer tillbaka från de döda earlier this year, Vildhjarta announces the release of their new studio album, måsstaden under vatten, which will be out October 15. The band have also released two new tracks, “kaos2” and “toxin” today, which are available on all digital platforms. Watch the visualizer videos for “kaos2” and “toxin” below.

With a decade between releases, Vildhjarta remain as inscrutable and as close to anonymity as a band can be.  Their down-tuned, staccato riffs and pulverizing grooves are the sound of music stripped to its essence. Yet, the Swedish collective’s long-awaited album, måsstaden under vatten, is far more than a recitation of djent values. Clocking in at 80 minutes, it thematically picks up where the dark Swedish fable of 2011’s Måsstaden left off and delivers on the promise that record hinted at. “Art happens when art happens,” states Vildhjarta.

Since dropping a minute of new live music in 2016, the band's focus has almost entirely been on the new album with drummer and now noted producer, Buster Odeholm, also known for his work with Born of Osiris, Shadow of Intent and drumming with Humanity’s Last Breath, who is heavily involved in the production, mixing and mastering of the music. Visual artist Rickard Westman, who did art for Vildhjarta's debut as well as their Thousands of Evils EP in 2013 has also returned to the equation to reprise his disturbing visual iconography that continues to tell a tale of a mythical, dark world far away from ours.

- 2CD Jewelcase (US version)

SKILLET's JOHN COOPER Says His 'Burning Desire To Play Music' Is 'A Calling From God'

SKILLET's JOHN COOPER Says His 'Burning Desire To Play Music' Is 'A Calling From God'

In a new interview with "The Paula Faris 'Faith & Calling' Podcast", John Cooper, the frontman and bassist for the Grammy-nominated Christian rock band SKILLET, spoke about his intensely strict religious upbringing where all pop music, black clothes and even Christian rock music was banned. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I am the product of an incredibly faithful mom. My mom was a Jesus fanatic. I'm talking about everywhere we went, my mom was sharing Jesus with every single person at the grocery store. I am a product of a very faithful, praying mom, but I do think that my childhood did have a lot of what I would consider to be a little fundamentalist, a little bit of that legalism and maybe a lot of fear — a lot of fear of what's gonna happen in the world, rather than focusing on the fact that we can be full of God's presence in order that we would be a light going into the darkness."

He continued: "My mom passed away when I was 15, so a lot of this kind of got shaped after that, I would say, taking my mom's zeal, my mom's passion and my mom's love for the Bible and realizing that I'm so thankful for her, even though there are some things that I don't think we'd disagree on now if she was alive because I think that she was on this journey — she was on this journey to what I would consider to be a more liberating place in the spirit as opposed to the opposite."

Asked how he reconciled the fact that his mom once said that rock music was the tool of the devil with him being the frontman of a successful rock band, Cooper said: "I will tell you something that I don't know if I've shared on a podcast before. And after 25 years, that's a big deal. I think the hardest thing about it was this: all right, my mom loved God, [and she] really believed that rock music was evil. I mean, the drums were Satanic, the guitars were Satanic, the long hair, the black [clothes] — the black was a sign of death. I mean, all of it. Christian music, to her mind, was even worse, because Christian music had all those aspects but it also had the deception — wolves in sheep's clothing — that Christian music was just like the worst thing in the world to my mom.

"How I worked through this was this: Having to come to terms with honoring your father and your mother, but at some point, I'm an adult. I'm 18 years old. God's called me to do something in my life, and I feel in my heart I've got this burning, burning desire to play music. And I believe that I want to do that because it's a calling from God — not just because my flesh wants it. I don't wanna be a rock god — I wanna be used by God to spread a message of hope through music.

"But here's the thing I haven't shared before," he continued. "On my mom's deathbed — she fought cancer for three years — I did not get to see her for the last nearly three weeks of her life. She didn't want me and my siblings to come see her because she thought that we would lose hope and we would lose faith and maybe we wouldn't be praying for her, and she wanted to be healed. So I did not see her, but I've been told in her last days and the last day [before] she passed away, she was beginning to have visions on her deathbed. Apparently one of the things that she said was, 'I'm so concerned for John. John is going to be used by the devil to play rock music. And John's going to help bring the king of darkness to the earth and this and that and the other' — because of rock music. That weighed very heavily on me because I respect my mom so much — she is the reason that I am who I am today.

"So to answer your question, how I worked through that. I was reading my Bible and I came to this remarkable passage," he added. "Do you remember when Jesus told this man to follow him, and the man said, 'I want to follow you. First, let me go home and bury my father.' And Jesus says, 'No, no, no. You let the dead bury the dead. You come follow me now.' The call is for now; the call is not for the future. I remember reading that when I was getting very serious about the Bible, when I was about 18, and I remember thinking, 'Is that what the call is like for me, I wonder.' And then I read another thing that Jesus says when he says, 'Anyone who's not willing to hate their father and mother for my sake is not worthy to be called a disciple.' I read that and I thought, 'Okay, I know that Jesus doesn't want me to hate my father and mother, but I wonder if what God is saying, through this passage of scripture, to me is that there comes a time when we have an ultimate authority. Yes, my mom and my dad are my authority, but they are under authority. All authority belongs to God. So if they are under authority and God tells me that I am supposed to go do something as an adult, then it's right for me to circumvent a wrong authority that is acting outside of his godly bounds to obey the lord. God used that to totally shape my mind and to realize, okay, in the end, God's given me this dream. It was a passion — something I believe he wanted me to do for his name's sake. And so that's my story."

This past April, Cooper told the "Undaunted.Life: A Man's Podcast" that it was perfectly fine for Christians to play rock music. "I would say that music is created not by the Devil; [it is] created by the Lord," he said. "All things were created by God. So instead of thinking that the Devil owns a genre of music, I would say capture that music and bring it back into subjection under the lordship of Christ."

Cooper recently published his first book, titled "Awake & Alive To Truth (Finding Truth In The Chaos Of A Relativistic World)". It "tackles the reigning philosophies of our day of post-modernism, relativism, and the popular view of the goodness of man-and combats these viewpoints by standing on the absolute truth of the Word Of God," the book's description reads.

In various interviews over the years, Cooper has said that he "always had faith in God." He also claimed that he was willing to put his career on the line to take a stand for Christ.

SACRED REICH's PHIL RIND On JASON RAINEY's Death: 'We Saw It Coming For A Long Time'

SACRED REICH's PHIL RIND On JASON RAINEY's Death: 'We Saw It Coming For A Long Time'

SACRED REICH frontman Phil Rind has reflected on the passing of the group's former guitarist Jason Rainey, saying he and his bandmates "saw it coming for a long time."

Rainey died in March 2020 of a heart attack. His death came more than a year after he was fired by SACRED REICH just as the band was beginning to record its comeback album, "Awakening".

Rind discussed Rainey's exit from SACRED REICH and the guitarist's eventual death during a brand new interview with the four members of SEPULTURA as part of their "SepulQuarta" livestream. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It was really tough. I'm probably closer to Jason than anybody else. We've known each other… I was 16; I'm 52 [now]. So we've known each other quite a long time. His health had just been deteriorating. He had lived with me on two different occasions. He wanted to drive trucks for a while when we weren't doing anything. I put him through driving school. He just… I don't know; he didn't wanna do it. And then when we were getting ready for the record, he was living here and I set him up with a guitar to record and to practice and to work on the songs. And he wasn't even really practicing what we were doing."

Phil continued: "I feel like in a lot of ways he was kind of emotionally checked out. But I think it's one thing to know these things for yourself, and it's another thing to admit them to other people. No one wants to admit it to themselves when you can't do things that you used to be able to do, and it's sad. And your life's changing, and it's scary. So, it was obvious that it wasn't gonna work out. We did everything we could up to the first day in the studio. It was the first day in the studio, and the other guys were, like, 'Dude…' And I'm, like, 'We've just gotta keep going. Don't worry. We've gotta go all the way, because we owe it to Jason to go all the way.' And if it wasn't gonna work out, I didn't wanna have any doubts in my mind, like, 'we didn't try this' or 'we didn't try that' — we had to do the whole thing. And then he was obviously really hurt about it. 'Cause, once again, it's hard to admit to yourself. So he just was really upset and lashed out and said a bunch of stuff that just really wasn't true. We don't care to respond, 'cause no one knows, and it's really no one's business what goes on. It was just sad. And then when he passed away, we saw it coming for a long time."

Rainey was replaced by Joey Radziwill, who made his recording debut with SACRED REICH on "Awakening". Released in August 2019 via Metal Blade Records, the band's first LP in 23 years marked SACRED REICH's first release since the return of drummer Dave McClain.

Rainey's wife, Renee Novak, told the Arizona Republic last year that says her husband was "a very gentle human being with a good soul who didn't like confrontation or any kind of conflict. He would go way out of his way for friends, and his friends would go way out of their way for him."

Novak said the split with SACRED REICH was hard on Rainey. "But honestly," she said, "he couldn't fulfill the requirements of a tour and all the things that go along with putting out a new album because of his health."

Formed in 1986, SACRED REICH was part of the second wave of thrash, along with TESTAMENT, DEATH ANGEL, DESTRUCTION and DARK ANGEL. Over the years, SACRED REICH had produced a catalog of politically charged aggressive songs that have stood the test of time.

SACRED REICH broke up in 2000 and remained inactive until 2006 when they received offers to play European festivals.

NONPOINT's ELIAS SORIANO Is 'Nervous' About Being 'That Up Close And Personal' With Fans While Pandemic Is Still Raging

NONPOINT's ELIAS SORIANO Is 'Nervous' About Being 'That Up Close And Personal' With Fans While Pandemic Is Still Raging

NONPOINT frontman Elias Soriano spoke to Bernard Cana of The Photo Pit about his band's plans to offer "VIP experiences" to its fans on its upcoming tour. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I'm nervous because of what's going on with COVID, to be able to be that up close and personal on this next run. We're having a VIP experience where we're trying to give them some kind of experience where they get to see us up close and ask questions and take pictures with us without possibly catching it from one us, God forbid — if we happen to catch it. So, what we're trying to do and what we've done and decided in our camp… We're all vaccinated. We're gonna stay inside the bubble. We're gonna make sure that the backstage area is pretty much situated and taken care of, keep our crew — especially our tour manager and our merch person, who's really gonna be in and out the crowd a lot, try to keep them safe and keep people around them masked up, hopefully, if there's that ability to do so.

"Our fans are very understanding; they always have been for years," he continued. "So I think they'll understand what we're having to deal with. I'm hoping to God that [the pandemic situation] starts to turn around very, very fast, but if it doesn't, we already have a very, very strong Plan B that's gonna keep our fans very excited and happy that isn't gonna cost 'em an arm and a leg."

NONPOINT will play several shows with ATREYU early next month before kicking off the "I'm About To Explode Tour Pt. 1" with special guests SAUL, DROPOUT KINGS and ANY GIVEN SIN on September 11 in Easton, Pennsylvania.

NONPOINT has toured with major acts like DISTURBED, PAPA ROACH, MUDVAYNE and SEVENDUST, to name a few. They have also been featured on the main stages and support stages of iconic festivals like Soundwave, Rock Am Park, Rock Am Ring, Ozzfest, Rock On The Range, Welcome To Rockville and many more.

In June, NONPOINT released the music video for "Ruthless", the title track off the band's upcoming EP. The single was made available through the group own label 361 Degrees Records LLC and was this year's featured track on AEW's "Blood And Guts" on TNT.

NONPOINT launched its independent record label 361 Degrees Records LLC in January of this year. They filmed the process of starting the label and making new music in a docu-series titled "A Path To Independence" that can be seen on the band's YouTube and official web site.

TESTAMENT's CHUCK BILLY To Fans Coming To See 'The Bay Strikes Back' Tour: 'If You're Not Vaccinated, Wear A Mask'

TESTAMENT's CHUCK BILLY To Fans Coming To See 'The Bay Strikes Back' Tour: 'If You're Not Vaccinated, Wear A Mask'

TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy has outlined some of the changes that will be made to the meet-and-greet sessions on the band's upcoming tour as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Billy, who was one of the first metal musicians to test positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, discussed TESTAMENT's plans to keep the bandmembers and fans safe in a video message he shared on Instagram earlier today (Wednesday, August 4).

He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "We're getting ready to get back on tour [in the U.S.], October [and] November, with 'The Bay Strikes Back', with TESTAMENT, EXODUS [and] DEATH ANGEL. A killer package.

"I just wanna talk about a little bit… Of course, you guys know we came off 'The Bay Strikes Back' in Europe [in March 2020]. I think everybody in the bands — all three bands — were sick with COVID. So we're getting ready to go out on this tour, and we've gotta kind of approach things a little different. First of all, we wanna be able to put on a performance and a show for everybody that's been stuck at home for so long dying to get some music, shows under the belt. So we're gonna do things a little different as far as… We do wanna offer a meet-and-greet with our fans, but we're gonna do things a little bit different and offer a soundcheck so we actually don't really have to touch each other and be that close to each other to spread a virus if someone does carry it. Because if one person gets sick on this tour, the tour is over. So, we're trying to do everything we can to keep the fans safe, to keep the bands safe and keep us working so the tour doesn't end. So I wanna apologize, 'cause I know I like to come out after the show and hang out with some fans, sign things, talk to everybody. And it's gonna be a little different this time. So I wanna apologize in advance to those of you who've been hanging out after the shows and I visit with. You're gonna have to wait a little longer — maybe until next summer, when the tour comes through. But I wanted to make everybody aware of that.

"We're all gonna have to do this together, do our part," he continued. "Either be vaccinated. And if you're not vaccinated and you wanna come see the show, do everybody else a favor — wear a mask. I mean, that's your choice. We're just trying to do everything we can to keep this tour going, keep fans entertained, and, most of all, keep us and the crews working. I would hate to get out there and start a tour and then, in the middle of it, somebody gets sick and the whole tour's done. So, we're all in it together.

"We're looking forward to 'The Bay Strikes Back'. It's gonna be a kick-ass tour. Get your tickets, if you haven't. They're selling really good — some sold-out shows already. So we're looking forward to it. It's been a year and a half since we got to perform [last] — a little over a year and a half. So, here we come. We'll see everybody real soon."

"The Bay Strikes Back Tour" will kick off on October 6 at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, California and make stops in Austin, New York, and Detroit before concluding on November 27 at The Fox in Oakland.

Back in March 2020, Billy revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home to the San Francisco Bay Area following the completion of "The Bay Strikes Back" European tour with EXODUS and DEATH ANGEL. EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt also tested positive, as did DEATH ANGEL drummer Will Carroll, who spent almost two weeks on a ventilator in an intensive care unit at a Northern California hospital.

JOEY JORDISON's SINSAENUM Bandmates: 'We Did Everything In Our Power To Help And Couldn't Get Through To Him'

JOEY JORDISON's SINSAENUM Bandmates: 'We Did Everything In Our Power To Help And Couldn't Get Through To Him'

Joey Jordison's SINSAENUM bandmates have paid tribute to the recently deceased SLIPKNOT drummer, saying "his love and passion for music was unmatched" and calling him "one of the most influential" musicians in the extreme metal genre.

Jordison's family confirmed that he passed away "peacefully in his sleep" on July 26 of an unspecified cause. He was 46 years old.

Earlier today (Thursday, August 5), the remaining members of SINSAENUM issued the following statement: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and brother Joey Jordison. He was of course one of the most influential drummers in the genre, completely rewriting the game of metal drumming, and it was truly an honor to share even just a small part of that with him. He brought something to the table that no other musician could, and his love and passion for music was unmatched in a world of jaded artists.

"For us Joey was family, and like family we argued and cried, but mostly laughed, and cared deeply for one another. His public image had a serious tone, with an evil exterior, yet he had the biggest heart, and we were lucky to be able to see the softer side of him. Joey also had his demons, and nothing hurts more than knowing that we did everything in our power to help and couldn't get through to him. He never felt he was better than anyone and would go out of this way to put everything, and everyone above his own needs.

"Our hearts go out to [his ex-girlfriend] Amanda, to his family, and to the true friends that were checking in on him.

"And to all our fans and friends who reached out to us in this time of mourning, thank you.

"Considering everything; moving on will be difficult at first, especially since we had already started writing the new album, but we will persevere, and will honor his legacy in everything we do moving forward. This next record will be dedicated to the memory of him, as that's what Joey would have wanted.

"Hails, and Horns as Joey would say. We miss you Jsaenum, and will love you forever."

Last month, SINSAENUM's Frédéric Leclercq (formerly of DRAGONFORCE and currently in KREATOR) blasted TMZ for sharing the audio of the 911 call placed by the former SLIPKNOT drummer's ex-girlfriend after she found him dead. On July 29, the tabloid site posted the two-and-a-half-minute phone call in which Joey's ex-girlfriend — who continued taking care of his bills and maintaining his house even after their split — can be heard getting very emotional when she went to his home to check on him after he hadn't returned her messages. During the call, she indicated that Joey was "a really bad alcoholic" with "health issues," and she revealed that the motion sensors on the house hadn't detected any activity in days.

SLIPKNOT announced its split with Jordison in December 2013 but did not disclose the reasons for his exit. The drummer subsequently issued a statement saying that he did not quit the group.

The same year that he exited SLIPKNOT, Jordison launched the band SCAR THE MARTYR and later, VIMIC.

SINSAENUM released its latest album, "Repulsion For Humanity", in August 2018 via earMUSIC. The rest of the band consists of Sean Zatorsky (DÅÅTH, vocals), Stephane Buriez (LOUDBLAST, guitar), Heimoth (SETH, bass) and Attila Csihar (MAYHEM, vocals).

"Echoes Of The Tortured", SINSAENUM's first album, was nominated as "Best Debut" by Metal Hammer Germany and was praised worldwide as one of the freshest and finest approaches to death metal.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and brother Joey Jordison.

He was of course one of the most...

SEPULTURA's DERRICK GREEN On Return Of Live Shows: 'I Just Hope That Everyone Is Being Responsible And Safe'

SEPULTURA's DERRICK GREEN On Return Of Live Shows: 'I Just Hope That Everyone Is Being Responsible And Safe'

SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green spoke to El Cuartel Del Metal about what the post-pandemic return to the live stage might look like. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Well, it's already coming back pretty quickly. I think people are very anxious for live shows. I just watched Lollapalooza live, which was taking place in Chicago, and it was a very crowded show. And I just hope everyone was as safe as possible.

"It's difficult times," he continued. "It's difficult to be that band that's gonna be the first to play after a pandemic or when a pandemic is still kind of going on. And depending on where you are, people are looking at it in different ways. People are feeling the pandemic differently as well. There's some people that have had family members that have passed away or died because of it. There's other people that haven't been affected in that way and see it in a completely different light. There's people in different countries who are able to get the vaccine and other places where they aren't at all. And so, depending on your view or where you're located has a lot to do with it. And I just hope that everyone is being responsible and safe so that we're able to have full-capacity shows and shows where people aren't stressed out about getting sick."

Last month, SEPULTURA announced the "North American Quadra" 2022 tour. The 30-day trek will kick off on March 4 in Sacramento and will make stops in Toronto, Cleveland, and New York before concluding on April 8 in Berkeley, California. The band will be joined by SACRED REICH and CROWBAR with openers ART OF SHOCK.

Formed in 1984 in Brazil, SEPULTURA has gone on to sell over 20 million records and solidify its legacy as one of the greatest metal bands of the 1980s, 1990s, and beyond. Today, SEPULTURA is still going strong, 15 albums deep into one of the hardest-hitting discographies in history.

While the pandemic paralyzed the entire world and prevented bands from touring, Latin America's biggest metal export SEPULTURA refused to sit back and feel like animals trapped in a cage. Therefore, in early 2020, the band seized the moment to start its own weekly "SepulQuarta" video podcast in which they invited other famous musicians from all over the world to not only discuss important topics but also perform a track from SEPULTURA's massive catalog together with the group. The resulting full-length compilation will now be released on August 13, with the album containing 15 classics featuring internationally renowned guests and friends.

SEPULTURA comprises Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., and drummer Eloy Casagrande.

SEPULTURA was formed in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, who are no longer with the band.

PUDDLE OF MUDD's WES SCANTLIN: 'Everybody Should Just Go And Get Vaccinated'

PUDDLE OF MUDD's WES SCANTLIN: 'Everybody Should Just Go And Get Vaccinated'

PUDDLE OF MUDD frontman Wes Scantlin spoke to Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio about what's next for the band and his thoughts on the importance of getting vaccinated. He said: "I hope I can keep touring. And I am definitely gonna go in the studio and record the next PUDDLE OF MUDD record. And, basically, pray that this freakin' weird thing" — referring to the pandemic — "goes away finally and forever.

"Everybody should really seriously just go and get vaccinated," he continued. "Some people have this thing that I call 'invincibility syndrome disorder' — the ISD disorder. People think that they're invincible and, 'No, no, no. This will never happen to me. No, no, no.' And, it's, like, bam. You're dead. You're on the floor. And you've infected other people that were caring to you. And all of a sudden, now they're dead on the floor.

"Be responsible," Wes added. "And I mean this: be responsible. And go get vaccinated. Don't skip the next vaccination appointment. Just get both of 'em. They're very simple. I've done it myself. It's right down the road from wherever the heck you actually you live at... Seriously, just go get vaccinated, man. Don't act like some kind of a freaking, you're better or bigger or tougher or wherever, because a lot of people have died, man.

Last month, PUDDLE OF MUDD announced a number of U.S. dates in support of the band's latest album, "Welcome To Galvania".

"Welcome To Galvania" was released in 2019 via Pavement Entertainment. PUDDLE OF MUDD's first album in a decade consisted of ten new tracks and was produced by Cameron Webb (ALKALINE TRIO, DISTURBED, MOTÖRHEAD).

PUDDLE OF MUDD was formed in 1991 in Kansas City by Scantlin, the only original member still with the band.

Wes had almost non-stop problems with the law, alcohol, finances and other issues, before finally getting sober in 2017. He and the rest of PUDDLE OF MUDD rebuilt a touring base, which paved the way to new music and a new album. Scantlin said that he ended up going back to rehab and receiving treatment "because there's really nowhere else to go." He also credited his family and fans for giving him the strength to try to get better.

PUDDLE OF MUDD broke into the mainstream with 2001's "Come Clean", which yielded three hits — "Control", "Blurry" and "She Hates Me".

FOO FIGHTERS' DAVE GROHL On Touring During Pandemic: 'The Wheels Could Fall Off At Any Moment'

FOO FIGHTERS' DAVE GROHL On Touring During Pandemic: 'The Wheels Could Fall Off At Any Moment'

FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl spoke to NME about how he and his bandmates have been doing their best to keep both themselves and their fans safe while continuing to play headlining concerts and make festival appearances — including Chicago's Lollapalooza and New York's Madison Square Garden — all over the country.

"For the two and a half hours onstage, it feels amazing," Grohl said. "It's the other hours of the day that pose a bit of a challenge because of all the new requirements and restrictions and guidelines. You have to be really careful out there. When you're traveling with a crew of 60 people from state to state and venue to venue, you try your best to stay within your band bubble because the wheels could fall off at any moment. You wake up every day and cross your fingers and hope that we make it to the stage that day."

Regarding how the FOO FIGHTERS' current U.S. tour has been going, Grohl said: "We were fortunate to complete this last two-week run — but, you know, we played a venue in Albuquerque [the 15,000-capacity Isleta Amphitheater] where it was the first time they'd had a show there in 688 days. And you could feel it in the audience. You could hear it when they sang along. You could see it when they danced. It's been a town-to-town celebration of the return of live music everywhere we go — opening new venues, reopening venues that had shut down. And you could see that people have been starved of live performance — as have we. We hit the stage like we haven't hit the stage for two years."

As previously reported, fans attending FOO FIGHTERS' concerts in Alaska this week will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or receive a negative test result 48 hours prior to the show.

On Friday (August 13), Live Nation Entertainment, one of the country's largest concert and ticketing companies, announced that it will require all artists and concertgoers to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test starting in early October.

Live Nation's announcement came one day after AEG Presents said that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theaters and festivals. The decision was made on the heels of the dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases as the delta variant spreads throughout the United States.

Several hard rock and heavy metal artists have canceled shows or whole tours as the concert industry is rethinking its approach to live shows while the delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading nationwide.

A number of venues around the country have already instituted policies requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to attend shows.

FOO FIGHTERS played a sold-out show on June 20 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. To warm up for the MSG gig, FOO FIGHTERS performed five days earlier at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. Both venues required ticket buyers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend.

FOO FIGHTERS are continuing to promote their latest album, "Medicine At Midnight", which landed at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart with first-week sales of 64,000 copies in the

DORO PESCH To Guest On LITA FORD's New Album

DORO PESCH To Guest On LITA FORD's New Album

Doro Pesch has confirmed that she has collaborated with Lita Ford on a song for Lita's upcoming solo album.

Ford's long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Living Like A Runaway" was once again helmed by guitarist/producer Gary Hoey, who contributes some guitar playing to the disc, alongside the rest of Ford's backing band, which continues to consist of guitarist Patrick Kennison, drummer Bobby Rock and bassist Marty O'Brien.

In a new interview with Canada's The Metal Voice, Doro stated about the pairing: "I just did something with Lita Ford, like, a year ago. I got this ['Metal Hall Of Fame'] award… I could give her this award. I got it one year before. Actually, in Wacken [Germany at the Wacken Open Air festival], the American guys came over. They flew to Wacken and I got this beautiful award. Oh, it was so awesome. And then I could give it to Lita Ford one year later. And we said, 'We've gotta do something [together].' Because we know each other from the early '80s. We did many photo sessions [together] and had many laughs. And we did actually something nice in the studio. And it will be on her record eventually. Yeah, we did something."

This past January, Lita told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" that her new album contains "some of the best guitar playing" she has heard "in decades." She added: "And I'm not blowing smoke up my own ass, but Gary and I just nailed it with the guitar playing on this record.

"I'm a huge fan of people like Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter from Alice Cooper's 'Welcome To My Nightmare'. I mean, there's some really great duo guitar players — [JUDAS PRIEST's] Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing… Those guitar players don't exist anymore — they just don't exist. If you wanna hear them, you have to go back in time a little bit and dig them up into your favorite library, favorite music catalog. But I think Gary and I really nailed it on this next record. It's, like, oh my God. I'm crying — I'm just, like, crying listening to this stuff. It's so badass."

In 2019, Lita told The Metal Voice that her new album will include a song called "Monsters", which was inspired by infamous cult leaders like Charles Manson and David Koresh. "It's just really dark and nasty stuff — brainwashing people and all the stuff [Koresh] did, and got all those people to drink Kool-Aid," she said. "But then again, it could be someone like your attorney, or it could be someone like your mom who is the monster in your life. It could be your manager. You never know who the monster in your life is gonna turn out to be."

Ford's last release was 2016's "Time Capsule", a collection of songs that were recorded by Lita in the past, but never before made available.

Five years ago, Lita released an autobiography, "Living Like A Runaway: A Memoir", via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

So excited to tell you guys I have an awesome collaboration in the making with my dear friend, Lita Ford. We were just...

ADEMA Releases First Single In Nearly A Decade, 'Ready To Die'

ADEMA Releases First Single In Nearly A Decade, 'Ready To Die'

ADEMA has released its first single in nearly a decade, "Ready To Die". The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "360 Degrees Of Separation".

After years of perseverance battling through bandmember changes, addiction, and various record labels, the band finally came together to write and release new music. "Ready To Die" is a song about passionately and forcefully breaking free of a toxic relationship or situation. Much like the band's last 10 years in the proverbial desert, the song embodies perseverance and the idea that we have to be willing to lose everything to do what we love and be true to ourselves.

"I was at a point where I was absolutely ready to die," says ADEMA frontman Ryan Shuck (ORGY, JULIEN-K, DEAD BY SUNRISE). "My system for living was not working anymore. I was crushed by the grief of losing one of my closest friends [Chester Bennington] to the same demons. I had been suicidal and severely depressed for years, and had no way out. I was in a living hell. The song is in some ways me dealing with myself in the mirror, but I very much think the concept also applies to anyone that is finally ready to break free from their demons, toxic relationships, or situations. There comes a point where you will go to any length to get better."

Shuck, a lifelong friend of the band and Bakersfield original, replaced original singer Marky Chavez, who has dropped in and out of the band for years.

Chavez originally left ADEMA in 2004 due to "creative differences" after two successful albums, "Adema" and "Unstable". The singer — who is the half brother of KORN frontman Jonathan Davis — quit ADEMA again in January 2011 in order to pursue his "solo project." He rejoined the group again six years later and played his first comeback show with ADEMA in May 2017 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.

After Chavez's original exit from ADEMA, the other members of the band found their way with new lead singers Luke Caraccioli and later Bobby Reeves, while Mark founded MIDNIGHT PANIC with his cousin Peter Shubert. He also produced fellow artists.

ADEMA's last release was 2013's "Topple The Giants". The group's first CD since 2007's "Kill The Headlights" contained brand new tracks plus re-worked versions of ADEMA's chart-topping hits "Giving In" and "Unstable".

ADEMA is:

Ryan Shuck - Vocals

Tim Fluckey - Guitar

Mike Ransom- Guitar

Dave DeRoo - Bass

Watch WHITESNAKE's Video For Remixed Version of 'All In The Name Of Love' From Deluxe Edition Of 'Restless Heart'

Watch WHITESNAKE's Video For Remixed Version of 'All In The Name Of Love' From Deluxe Edition Of 'Restless Heart'

In the wake of WHITESNAKE's massive global success, the band's founder and lead singer, David Coverdale, set out to record his third solo album in 1995. However, the plan was derailed when pressure from his record label forced him to change course and release "Restless Heart" under the DAVID COVERDALE & WHITESNAKE moniker. Despite the changes, the 1997 album was a Top 40 hit in the U.K. Surprisingly, the record was never released in the U.S. That will change this fall when Rhino introduces several versions of "Restless Heart", including a four-disc boxed set.

"Restless Heart: Super Deluxe Edition" will be available on October 29 and is available for pre-order now. The 4CD/DVD collection features newly remastered and remixed versions of the original album, along with unreleased demos and studio outtakes. The DVD includes music videos and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album with new interviews from David Coverdale. The set comes with a hardbound book filled with rare and unseen photos from the era.

Three additional versions of "Restless Heart" will be available the same day. First is a two-CD deluxe edition that includes the new remix plus the original album, newly remastered. Next is a double-LP deluxe edition pressed on 180-gram silver vinyl that features the newly remixed album. And finally, there is a single-disc version which again features the newly remixed album. In addition, all of the music will be available digitally through streaming services.

"Restless Heart: Super Deluxe Edition" opens with a newly remixed version of the album that's closer to the sound Coverdale initially intended for his new solo release. It's followed by a newly remastered version of "Restless Heart", including the singles "Too Many Tears" and "Don't Fade Away", plus three bonus tracks from the album's original Japanese release. Featured musicians include Adrian Vandenberg, Denny Carmassi, Guy Pratt and in addition, guitarist Joel Hoekstra and keyboardist Derek Sherinian who bring their exceptional talents to the party.

The following two discs reveal how "Restless Heart" evolved, starting with early pre-production versions of every album track to later takes of those songs.

The DVD features several music videos ("Too Many Tears" and "Restless Heart") plus the making-of-the-album featurette. There is also a video EP featuring the three relevant songs from the 1997 live acoustic album, "Starkers In Tokyo", originally only available in Japan.

The official music video for the remixed version of "All In The Name Of Love" can be seen below.

SPIRITBOX Releases Music Video For 'Hurt You'

SPIRITBOX Releases Music Video For 'Hurt You'

Canadian metal outfit SPIRITBOX has released the official music video for a brand new song titled "Hurt You". The track is taken from the band's debut album, "Eternal Blue", which will be released on September 17 via Rise Records.

Speaking about the new song and the accompanying music video, which can be viewed below, SPIRITBOX guitarist Mike Stringer states: "'Hurt You' is a song that was written before the pandemic, in early 2020 during a snowstorm. We were stuck inside, and couldn't go anywhere, so this song flowed out of myself, Courtney [LaPlante, vocals] and our producer Dan pretty quick. The subject matter of the song explores toxic codependency, and the feeling of knowing that something is doomed to fail, but making the choice to go down with the ship. The video, directed by Dylan Hryciuk, is horror-inspired and depicts love in four different acts. It's the first video we've made where we do not make an appearance and allow the story to be the main focus."

The husband-and-wife duo consisting of Courtney LaPlante and Michael Stringer made its debut with an independently released EP in October 2017, quickly building a cult following. In 2018, they found their musical counterpart in bass player Bill Crook and partnered with Pale Chord Music to continue to create and release music in single and EP formats, and in fall of 2020, signed with globally renowned label Rise Records.

Drawing its name from a device that some believe is capable of communing with the dead, SPIRITBOX has a paranormal undertone that runs through everything they do, using EVP (electronic voice phenomena) recordings both at its live shows and within its tracks.

Having toured the world many times over with their previous bands — metal outfit IWRESTLEDABEARONCE (Courtney and Mike) and pop punk band LIVING WITH LIONS (Bill) — SPIRITBOX absorbed the highs and lows of living as working musicians and decided to try a different and more sustainable approach when it came to releasing their music. They took the concept of supply and demand and applied it to their release model, focusing on making fans across the globe by using the social media tools available to them, releasing shorter bodies of music and removing touring from the plan until a demand was built. In doing so they quickly garnered a cult-like online following which has led to over 80 million streams across all platforms and sell outs on every physical release and most merch items they've released to date.

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY Says He Has Been 'Indirectly' In Contact With WARREN DEMARTINI

RATT Singer STEPHEN PEARCY Says He Has Been 'Indirectly' In Contact With WARREN DEMARTINI

Stephen Pearcy has once again floated the possibility of the surviving members of the classic RATT lineup reuniting to play live shows or make a new studio album.

Pearcy made the comments four months after he was joined by his former bandmate Bobby Blotzer during the RATT singer's livestream concert from the world-famous Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip.

Asked in a new interview with "Waste Some Time With Jason Green" where the prospect of a classic RATT reunion stands at the moment, Pearcy said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Look, all of us had our rounds — everyone. It just wasn't me against whoever. We all had our rounds, as most bands do. That's how you get longevity. We've always gotten back together because it's the music. And that's my main concern.

"The bands that have had this kind of longevity — and thank God for that, because there are bands that never got the time of day in the '80s that are getting more airplay and notice than ever before…

"We're not the most dysfunctional [band]," he continued. "I'll tell you, there's bands who don't see each other; they just get on stage to take care of business. There is a still a business in the music business, if you want it there to be.

"It's not just Bob — we all had our rounds. I mean, that's just the way it works. You've been a band of brothers for so many years, you piss on each other and shit happens. But I did state I see no reason doing a RATT record unless it's all the original members; there's no reason. I can just write songs and do what I do because it makes me happy. I can do it whenever I want."

Asked when the last time was that he talked to former RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini, Stephen said: "Uhm… Indirectly, probably a couple of weeks ago." He then clarified that he hadn't been in contact with him through e-mail but that they did have communicaton "through sources." He added: "Put it this way: Everybody's talking about a reunion and this. Hey, look, life's short. I can sit around and do nothing, but that's not the kind of person I am, whether it's in the music business or anything else. I just move forward. If something goes down with the original members, that would be great. If it doesn't, c'est la vie."

Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier are the sole remaining original members in RATT's current lineup, which made its live debut in July 2018 in Mulvane, Kansas. Joining them in the band are drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE, RATT'S JUAN CROUCIER) and guitarists Jordan Ziff (Marty Friedman) and Frankie Lindia (David Lee Roth).

RATT — featuring Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini — played a number of shows in 2017 after reforming a year earlier in the midst of a highly publicized legal battle with Blotzer over the rights to the RATT name. They were joined at the gigs by guitarist Carlos Cavazo, who played on "Infestation", and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso, who previously played with Y&T, WHITE LION and MEGADETH, among others.

JEREMY SPENCER Says Return To FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Was Never A Possibility: 'It Had Kind Of Run Its Course For Me'

JEREMY SPENCER Says Return To FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Was Never A Possibility: 'It Had Kind Of Run Its Course For Me'

Jeremy Spencer, former drummer and co-founding member of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, spoke to Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station about his late 2018 decision to exit the band. Asked if there was a ever a chance that he could return to FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, Spencer said: "Nah, I don't think so. It had kind of run its course for me. Almost 14 years — that's a long time. And I had experienced everything that I thought I needed to in that situation. And I kind of left when I felt it was the high point, but also where I don't think my body could do what it needed to do in order for me to be satisfied. Athletes reach that point, where you just can't play basketball like you could when you were a few years younger."

He continued: "I can probably play, but it's just not as stimulating as it once was. I mean, I'd done much of that, and I'd been playing drums since I was six years old."

Spencer also discussed the downside of touring, explaining that being on the road most of the year can take its toll.

"The travel — nobody really understands what that's like," he said. "You're in a different place every day, your stuff is moved every day. It wears you out. The shows are cool — you get to play for lots of people — but there's so much of the other stuff that nobody sees or knows about. And it's wearing. And 14 years of doing that, I was, like, 'Okay, I think I'm good. I've experienced it and it's been great. But I'm good.'"

According to Jeremy, he "needed to chill out for a while" after his exit from FIVE FINGER. "I needed to break that cycle of 'go, go, go,'" he said. "Even though I didn't really stop. I mean, I came home and started working on other projects, but then I had the back surgery, which set me back for six months, and that was brutal. But once I got through that, now my back's feeling really good. It's, like, 'Terminator'-fixed, so it's pretty cool."

Spencer's replacement in FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is Charlie "The Engine" Engen. Engen made his recording debut with the band on the "F8" album, which came out in February 2020.

Jeremy is currently the frontman of PSYCHOSEXUAL, which released a new single, "Devil From Hell", last month.

PSYCHOSEXUAL released its debut album, "Torch The Faith", last July. It was co-produced by Spencer and Shawn McGhee (DROWNING POOL) and released via Spencer's 6eX Records. The debut premiered at No. 150 on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching No. 5 on the Hard Music Albums, No. 12 on Top New Artist Albums and No. 30 on Current Rock Albums.

Spencer, who sports a Mephistophelian mask as Devil Daddy, is joined in PSYCHOSEXUAL by guitarist Crucifer, bassist Astaroth and drummer Volac.

Former NIGHTWISH Singer ANETTE OLZON Releases New Solo Single, 'Fantastic Fanatic'

Former NIGHTWISH Singer ANETTE OLZON Releases New Solo Single, 'Fantastic Fanatic'

Former NIGHTWISH and current THE DARK ELEMENT vocalist Anette Olzon will release her new solo album, "Strong", on September 10 via Frontiers Music Srl. The disc's third single, "Fantastic Fanatic", can be streamed below.

Anette's second solo album, following 2014's "Shine", is a harder and faster musical offering than the debut. More importantly, "Strong" stakes a claim for Anette's well-deserved standing as one of the world's top female metal vocalists.

The music for "Strong" was written and composed together with acclaimed Swedish guitarist and producer Magnus Karlsson. Together, Anette and Magnus managed to create an outstanding collection of songs which showcase Anette's enormous vocal range alongside Karlsson's incendiary riffs. The songs are heavy, but still quite melodic and contemporary in their approach to the genre style. Additionally, "Strong" is mixed by Jacob Hansen (PRETTY MAIDS, VOLBEAT, THE DARK ELEMENT).

All in all, "Strong" is an album that masters the borders between heaviness and hookiness, all while showing an artist who doesn't rest on her laurels, but heads boldly into the future.

Regarding the album's first single, "Parasite", Olzon previously said: "'Parasite' is a song about those who create disaster in this world with their lies, their schemes, their greed and hate. Hiding their intentions behind a respectable facade," says Olzon. "Living in a world of a bit of chaos with a pandemic, crazy politics, violence, social media behavior and people venting their opinions upon others all the time is the foundation behind the idea of the lyrics for the album. Musically, I wanted a much heavier album, yet with strong melodies and took my inspiration from bands I like such as DIMMU BORGIR and IN FLAMES."

Track listing:

01. Bye Bye Bye

02. Sick Of You

03. I Need To Stay

04. Strong

05. Parasite

06. Sad Lullaby

07. Fantastic Fanatic

08. Who Can Save Them

09. Catcher Of My Dreams

10. Hear Them Roar

11. Roll The Dice

Recording lineup:

Anette Olzon - Vocals

Magnus Karlsson - Guitars

Anders Köllerfors - Drums

Johan Husgafvel - Bass

Olzon originally joined NIGHTWISH in 2007 and recorded two studio LPs with the band before being dismissed in 2012 in the middle of the group's North American tour. She was replaced by former AFTER FOREVER singer Floor Jansen.

Since the end of her five-year stint with NIGHTWISH, Olzon released "Shine" and formed THE DARK ELEMENT with former SONATA ARCTICA guitarist Jani Liimatainen. The group's self-titled debut album was released in 2017; a follow-up, "Songs The Night Sings", came out in November 2019.

Olzon and noted progressive metal vocalist Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X, ADRENALINE MOB) released a collaborative album titled "Worlds Apart" in March 2020 via Frontiers Music Srl. The project was issued under the moniker ALLEN/OLZON.

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME Releases Music Video For 'The Future Is Behind Us'

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME Releases Music Video For 'The Future Is Behind Us'

Grammy Award-nominated progressive metallers BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME have released the music video for "The Future Is Behind Us", the latest song taken from the band's new album, "Colors II", which came out today (Friday, August 20) via Sumerian Records.

Director Erez Bader of Silent Flight Productions comments: "'Colors II''s opening track is an invitation for the listener to interpret the album, or rather the entirety of BTBAM's work, however they see fit. As a longtime fan (half my arm is tattooed with 'Parallax II''s artwork) I've always interpreted the first 'Colors' to be about the fading of creativity and originality in our world, and the message that your legacy is defined by the things you've created during your lifetime. It's both a pessimistic view that the world is going to shit, while also being a rallying cry for budding artists to overcome hardships and remind themselves why their work is important.

"The song 'White Walls' closes out the first 'Colors' album, representing both the death of the colors now faded, yet the blank canvas they left behind — an invitation to start anew. This is where my music video for 'The Future Is Behind Us' begins. While the band's mind-blowing performance is front and center, the subtle narrative begins within these quite literal white walls, which in this video I think of as a sort-of temple. The 'sculpture people' as I call them (who represent the first album), congregate at this towering, abstract painting within the white walls; a holy conduit they've sought to undergo a long-awaited dark ritual. Tommy floats past the world, carrying this growing darkness as it blooms around him in the wilderness and is brought into our cities, eventually culminating in the dark sludge that entirely consumes the white walls themselves. Within the darkness, the sculptures birth a child — a creation of their own, and it's released into our world.

"There's a weird transfer of power as a work of art nears completion. It becomes its own author and starts guiding you to its final form; something new entirely. So while I have my own intention behind the video, I'm forced to be cheesy and quote the new record, 'I'm not the writer, it's you.'"

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME built its influential 2007 album, "Colors", on an unwavering commitment to artistic integrity. They've only fortified that commitment on "Colors II". The circumstances surrounding both records bear key similarities, yet the North Carolina quintet — Tommy Rogers (lead vocals, keyboards), Paul Waggoner (lead and rhythm guitar, backing and lead vocals), Dustie Waring (rhythm and lead guitar), Blake Richardson (drums) and Dan Briggs (bass, keyboards) — once again stretch the boundaries of their signature sound and heavy music at large.

"Especially with 2020, we really wanted to give it all we could and show the world we're still here," explains Tommy. "That's part of the reason we named it 'Colors II'. We were in a similar spot when we did the first 'Colors'. Back then, we had just gotten done with Ozzfest. We were wondering, 'Where do we belong in this music scene?' We still struggle with that. At both of these moments in our career, we decided to just be ourselves and write the best album we can. We came out guns blazing, and I feel like it's some of our most creative material in a long time."

"'Colors' was very much our attempt at a do-or-die statement," recalls Paul. "We had to establish our identity and be who we really wanted to be in order to have a career. This time around, our industry was shutdown for a year. Once tours were canceled due to the pandemic, we were, like, 'We've got to write a record, and it's got to be good.' We had to do something next level."

"Colors II" track listing:

01. Monochrome

02. The Double Helix of Extinction

03. Revolution In Limbo

04. Fix The Error

05. Never Seen/Future Shock

06. Stare Into The Abyss

07. Prehistory

08. Bad Habits

09. The Future Is Behind Us

10. Turbulent

11. Sfumato

12. Human Is Hell (Another One With Love)

MINISTRY Releases Music Video For Cover Of THE STOOGES' 'Search And Destroy'

MINISTRY Releases Music Video For Cover Of THE STOOGES' 'Search And Destroy'

Industrial metal pioneers MINISTRY have released the official music video for their cover version of THE STOOGES' 1973 classic "Search And Destroy". The track, which features guitar virtuoso Billy Morrison (BILLY IDOL, ROYAL MACHINES), is taken from the band's 15th studio album, "Moral Hygiene", which is due on October 1 via Nuclear Blast Records.

MINISTRY frontman Al Jourgensen told Rolling Stone about the Dean Karr-directed clip: "He picked out this desert airplane graveyard run rampant with rattlesnakes. I was in 35 pounds of gear learning how to use an antiquated weapon that weighs about 210-215 pounds at eight in the morning and all and all the video was actually the smoothest shoot I've ever done over the course of 15-20 videos I've done in my career. It's one of the memories I'll take to my grave."

In a recent interview with Australia's Heavy, Jourgensen stated about the new LP's musical direction: "Same old stuff. Just a progression of the MINISTRY sound that's been refined for the last 30 [or] 40 years. And I think we hit a good one this time. There's a couple that I wish I could have back, and there's a couple that I'm really gung-ho about. But this one's in the 'gung-ho' category. This one makes a lot of sense for the times that we're living in."

As for the lyrical themes covered on "Moral Hygiene", Jourgensen said: "We cover everything — from the actual pandemic to climate change to the political climate now. And I don't mean so much the politicians as much as the rise of fascist tendencies all over the world and in various countries. And a lot of life topics like that."

The album's first single, "Good Trouble", was released in early July. The song, inspired by the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and the activist work of the late congressman John Lewis, was accompanied by a video that includes sampling from last year's demonstrations in Los Angeles as captured by Jourgensen and his partner Liz Walton. "Moral Hygiene" also includes the previously released "Alert Level" that sounded the alarms about our collective dissonance towards the pandemic, climate change and the man formerly in the White House, bolstered by the song's overarching question posed to listeners: "How concerned are you?" The new album also adds perspective to the countless lives that were tragically lost to the COVID-19 pandemic on the haunting track "Death Toll" while "Disinformation" describes the too frequent willingness to accept everything — even mistruths — as fact.

Other musical jewels on the upcoming release include a collaboration with Jello Biafra (Jourgensen's cohort in side project LARD) on "Sabotage Is Sex".

"Moral Hygiene" was recorded with engineer Michael Rozon (also behind the boards on "AmeriKKKant") at Scheisse Dog Studio, Jourgensen's self-built home studio and creative lab. As with all MINISTRY albums, all songs are written and performed by Jourgensen. Additional contributions come from Morrison, Cesar Soto (MAN THE MUTE), John Bechdel (KILLING JOKE, FEAR FACTORY), Roy Mayorga (STONE SOUR, SOULFLY, NAUSEA), Paul D'Amour (TOOL, FEERSUM ENNJIN), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.), Jello Biafra (DEAD KENNEDYS) and sitar player Flash.

"Moral Hygiene" will be available in CD, vinyl and digital download formats.

SODOM Releases Lyric Video For New Version Of 'Bombenhagel'

SODOM Releases Lyric Video For New Version Of 'Bombenhagel'

German thrash metal veterans SODOM have just released a new EP, "Bombenhagel", via Steamhammer/SPV. The EP includes one re-recorded classic and two brand new songs.

SODOM bassist/vocalist Thomas "Angelripper" Such says about the re-recording of "Bombenhagel": "I wanted a recording of our old classic by the new lineup. Of course that was really special with a drummer such as Toni and two stringsmen. This new arrangement of our anthem definitely holds a few surprises in store."

The new version of "Bombenhagel" also includes a guitar solo courtesy of Harris Johns, who, as a producer, worked on the "Persecution Mania" (1987) rendition of "Bombenhagel".

"Harris practically insisted on contributing a special kind of solo, in line with his outstanding skill," Angelripper says. "Naturally, that's been a real pleasure for us because we're all aware of what he's done for us. Without Harris, SODOM wouldn't be where we are today."

The official lyric video for the new version of "Bombenhagel" can be seen below.

Track listing:

01. Bombenhagel (6:06)

02. Coup De Grace (3:06)

03. Pestiferous Posse (5:05)

SODOM's latest studio LP, "Genesis XIX", came out last November via Entertainment One (eOne) in North America and Steamhammer/SPV in Europe. The disc was recorded by Siggi Bemm and mastered by Patrick W. Engel and comes shrouded in the cover art of Joe Petagno of MOTÖRHEAD fame.

Angelripper described "Genesis XIX" as "one of the toughest and most diverse studio recordings that SODOM have ever released." He is joined in the band's current lineup by guitarists Frank Blackfire and Yorck Segatz as well as new addition, drummer Toni Merkel.

"Our riff suppliers, Yorck and Frank, are totally different types of musicians," Angelripper said. "Yorck is a died-in-the-wool metalhead who grew up with thrash music. Frank, on the other hand, also integrates blues and rock elements into his style, including the occasional Frank Marino or Rory Gallagher quotation, and writes songs that could have featured in the same or a similar way on 'Agent Orange'. These are the diverse influences that make 'Genesis XIX' what it is."

EXODUS: 'Persona Non Grata' Album Details Revealed; 'The Beatings Will Continue' Single Now Available

EXODUS: 'Persona Non Grata' Album Details Revealed; 'The Beatings Will Continue' Single Now Available

San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS will release their new album, "Persona Non Grata", on November 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The disc's first single, "The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)", can be streamed below.

"Persona Non Grata" is the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Steve "Zetro" Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

"Persona Non Grata" was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap.

Last month, EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting underwent a successful total gastrectomy in his battle with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the stomach.

Speaking about the long gap between the new LP's completion and its projected release date, Zetro said during a recent Zetro's Toxic Vault YouTube livestream: "A lot of you guys are wondering why it's taking so long, and yes, Tom's illness had a bit to play in it. But they haven't been able to make vinyl. Nobody worked last year. So all the bands that wrote records and now are gonna put records out, they're six months behind in producing vinyl. So it's basically what it's about. So because we're very proud of this record [and] this record is very special for us, I don't think that Nuclear Blast wanted to take any stops out on it, so they wanted multiple vinyls. But I can guarantee you it'll be out in November, and you guys will not be disappointed. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed on this."

Regarding the songwriting and recording process for "Persona Non Grata", Zetro said: "I wrote a couple of songs lyrically, but [guitarist] Gary Holt wrote the brunt of this record, and it exemplifies why he is the real deal in thrash metal or heavy metal. That's why all you guys that follow him and love his guitar playing and his technique and his style, you have every reason to do that. And this record, after you hear the record, you're just gonna go, 'Wow! Zetro was right.' And then performance-wise, everybody killed it on their performance. Tom was a man possessed. Jack [Gibson, bass] was too; I think it's the best bass playing I've heard on a record for Jack. And those that have heard the record think it's the best vocal performance that I've done."

"Persona Non Grata" track listing:

01. Persona Non Grata

02. R.E.M.F.

03. Slipping Into Madness

04. Elitist

05. Prescribing Horror

06. The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)

07. The Years Of Death And Dying

08. Clickbait

09. Cosa Del Pantano

10. Lunatic-Liar-Lord

11. The Fires Of Division

12. Antiseed

Last week it was announced that EXODUS has tapped John Tempesta to play drums for the band at two upcoming festivals — at Psycho Las Vegas on August 22 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada and at Full Terror Assault on September 11 at Hogrock Campground in Cave In Rock, Illinois — while Hunting is recovering from surgery. Tempesta was a member of EXODUS from 1989 until 1993 and played on the band's albums "Impact Is Imminent" (1990) and "Force Of Habit" (1992).

When Hunting announced his absence from Psycho Las Vegas and Full Terror Assault, he said in a statement: "I need to manage my own expectations, and then work my very core back into shape to be fully ready for action. I have no doubt I'll bounce back and get there."

A GoFundMe campaign to help Hunting with medical expenses had previously raised more than $108,000 — including $5,000 from Tom's former EXODUS bandmate, current METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett, and $1,500 from FOZZY singer and wrestling superstar Chris Jericho.

METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT And DEATH ANGEL's MARK OSEGUEDA Guest On New SANTANA Album 'Blessings And Miracles'

METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT And DEATH ANGEL's MARK OSEGUEDA Guest On New SANTANA Album 'Blessings And Miracles'

Multi-Grammy Award-winning Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame guitarist Carlos Santana has announced that his star-studded, masterful new album, "Blessings And Miracles", will be released worldwide via BMG on October 15. The record's dazzling first single, "Move", which sees the music legend and guitar icon reteamed with MATCHBOX 20 singer Rob Thomas, has just been released to radio.

"Blessings And Miracles" is one of the most ambitious, inspired and magical albums of Santana's storied career, on which the legendary guitarist aims higher than ever.

"The title of this album comes from my belief that we're born with heavenly powers that allows us to create blessings and miracles," Santana says. "The world programs you to be unworthy of those gifts, but we have to utilize light, spirit and soul — they're indestructible and immutable. Those are the three main elements on this album."

In addition to Rob Thomas, "Blessings And Miracles" sees Santana collaborating with a diverse host of brilliant artists, writers and producers including Chris Stapleton, G-Eazy, Diane Warren, Steve Winwood, Chick Corea, Rick Rubin, Corey Glover, Kirk Hammett, Ally Brooke, American Authors and Narada Michael Walden, among others, on genre-bending, hook-filled knockout musical celebrations.

The record also features bravura performances from members of Santana's touring band (including drummer Cindy Blackman Santana and singer Tommy Anthony), as well as impeccable vocals and keyboards by the guitarist's son, Salvador Santana, and stunning lead vocals by daughter, Stella Santana.

Expectations understandably run high with pairing Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas, whose 1999 multiple Grammy-winning smash "Smooth" became a worldwide staple — and the two performers have turned in a new classic. "Move" is a grinding, grooving and breathtaking mix of pop and Latin rock with sure-fire hooks for days. Thomas, backed by the vocal talents of American Authors, is dynamic and sensual, and Santana matches his supreme performance with solos that explode with tectonic force.

"'Move' came about very much like how 'Smooth' happened," Santana recalls. "It was like divine intelligence behind the scenes, and I just knew I had to record it with Rob. The song is about awakening your molecules. Ignite and activate yourself — you know, move. When Rob and I work together, we have a sound that's splendiferous."

The album's second single, "She's Fire", is a hypnotically soulful ballad that works its way into your body chemistry and stays there. It's one of two cuts written by mega-award-winning, chart-topping composer Diane Warren, and it sees Santana wrapping his exquisite guitar melodies around an enticing narrative spun by the rapper G-Eazy.

"I'm so honored that Diane reached out to me and sent me her songs," says Santana. Regarding G-Eazy, the guitarist is no less effusive. "He's so talented. I'm thrilled at how we both sound on this song," he says. "It reminds me of when Bill Graham once told me: 'Your music is spiritual and sensual. That's who you are.' And that's the message of 'She's Fire'."

Santana spent much of the past two years recording "Blessings And Miracles", serving as producer and collaborating with other record makers. Recording during COVID created a challenge only in that some musicians were separated geographically, beamed into sessions via technology; inspiration, however, was never in short supply.

"It's amazing how we can record together these days without being in the same studio," Santana notes. "I just close my eyes and I'm in the same room with whomever I'm playing with, even if they're somewhere far away. We share frequencies together."

As for the stellar talents that appear alongside him on "Blessings And Miracles", Santana admits that he's sometimes surprised at how they magically enter his life. "I don't choose people — it's like I'm chosen," he says. "But, of course, I'm honored to work with such incredible artists. I'm a surfer riding those waves that become songs by different artists, creators and architects. I'm very fortunate that I have the opportunity to do that. It's a gift I don't take for granted."

"Blessings And Miracles" track listing:

01. Ghost Of Future Pull / New Light

02. Santana Celebration

03. Rumbalero (featuring Salvador Santana & Asdru Sierra)

04. Joy (Carlos Santana & Chris Stapleton)

05. Move (Carlos Santana, Rob Thomas, Zac Barnett & American Authors)

Ahead of the release of "Blessings And Miracles", Santana and his band will mark their long-awaited return to the concert stage after 18 months off. On August 25, SANTANA will resume their multi-year residency at the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas (shows run from August 25 through September. 4, with additional dates from November 3 thru December 11).

SANTANA's "Blessings And Miracles" tour begins on September 11 at the Borgata Spa & Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and will make stops in Richmond, Orlando, Augusta, Tulsa, and more before it concludes on October 2 at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, Oklahoma.

It's Official: FEAR FACTORY Has Found A Replacement For Singer BURTON C. BELL

It's Official: FEAR FACTORY Has Found A Replacement For Singer BURTON C. BELL

Dino Cazares has confirmed that he has found a new singer for FEAR FACTORY.

Although the guitarist has not yet revealed the new FEAR FACTORY vocalist's identity, he did indicate that the musician in question has experience and is "kind of known" within the metal scene.

Cazares, who co-founded FEAR FACTORY more than three decades ago, discussed his search for a replacement for the band's original frontman Burton C. Bell in a brand new interview with Bucketlist TV.

He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "For those of you who don't know, our singer quit after 30 years, so I've been looking for a new singer. And I'm first here to tell you that I have definitely nailed it down to one person. I'm not gonna reveal who that is yet — not yet. Once I'm done [playing with SOULFLY as a fill-in guitarist for the summer U.S tour], I'm gonna go back to L.A., back to the studio, and I'll be writing some new new FEAR FACTORY songs with the new singer, because I'd like to introduce him with a new song."

Asked about his previous comment that he was open to hiring a female vocalist for FEAR FACTORY, Dino said: "That was true. I auditioned a few women, yes. But it didn't work out — not because they were female or anything like that. Because I wanted to pick whoever was best for the position, and it turned out to be a guy."

Dino also addressed his statement from a few months ago that he wanted to give an "unknown guy a shot" at fronting FEAR FACTORY. He said: "Well, it wasn't like I was only looking for somebody that nobody knew. I was looking for all different [types of singers]. Sure, if the guy turned out to be, or the girl turned out to be, someone that nobody knew and I gave 'em that shot, yeah, great. I was open to all of it, is what I'm saying. Male, female, whatever, known, unknown — I was open to all of that. And it turned out to be somebody who is kind of known, I guess. Kind of known. He does have experience."

Last September, Bell issued a statement officially announcing his departure from FEAR FACTORY, saying that he "cannot align" himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect.

Bell's exit from FEAR FACTORY came more than two weeks after Cazares launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist him with the production costs associated with the release of FEAR FACTORY's new LP.

Bell later told Kerrang! magazine that his split with FEAR FACTORY was a long time coming. "It's been on my mind for a while," he said. "These lawsuits [over the rights to the FEAR FACTORY name] just drained me. The egos. The greed. Not just from bandmembers, but from the attorneys involved. I just lost my love for it.

"With FEAR FACTORY, it's just constantly been, like, 'What?!' You can only take so much. I felt like 30 years was a good run. Those albums I've done with FEAR FACTORY will always be out there. I'll always be part of that. I just felt like it was time to move forward."

In October, Dino issued a statement in which he said that the door for Burton to come back to FEAR FACTORY wouldn't "stay open forever." The guitarist also revealed that Burton "lost his legal rights" to the FEAR FACTORY name "after a long court battle" with drummer Raymond Herrera and bassist Christian Olde Wolbers. "I had the opportunity to do something right, and I felt that obtaining the name in full was the right thing to do for the both of us, so after nearly four years we can continue as FEAR FACTORY, to make more records and to tour," he said. "That is why it is sad to hear that he decided to quit and, in my opinion, for whatever issues he has it seems like it could've been worked out."

FEAR FACTORY's new album, "Aggression Continuum", was released in June via Nuclear Blast Records. The LP, which was recorded primarily in 2017, features Cazares and Bell alongside drummer Mike Heller. It was produced and engineered by Damien Rainaud (DRAGONFORCE, ONCE HUMAN), with keyboards by Igor Khoroshev (ex-YES), and programming on two songs from longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY). "Aggression Continuum" was mixed by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM), who also mixed FEAR FACTORY's previous album, 2015's "Genexus".
