EXODUS's New Album Will Be 'An Absolute Thrash Metal Masterpiece,' Says STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA

EXODUS's New Album Will Be 'An Absolute Thrash Metal Masterpiece,' Says STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA

EXODUS recently entered the studio in Lake Almanor, California to begin recording its long-awaited new album for a tentative early 2021 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

The San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' next disc will be the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was their first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Steve "Zetro" Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

Souza discussed the progress of the recording sessions for EXODUS's new LP in the latest installment of his "Zetro's Toxic Vault" video series.

Speaking about the musical direction of the new EXODUS material, Zetro said (see video below): "This album has everything that a heavy metal fan and EXODUS fan wants. It's very brutal, it's very violent, it's very fast. The lyrics are very aggressive and really deep subject matter. It doesn't disappoint.

"As for [guitarist] Gary Holt, him being the major songwriter and the main songwriter, I feel that he's written an absolute masterpiece — an absolute thrash metal masterpiece. It's got all of the elements that an EXODUS record should have. It's not even done yet, and I'm really already proud of it."

Souza went on to say that he can't reveal any songtitles or other details about the next EXODUS record other that the fact that it is "quite fucking brutal."

"If I was to let you know where I'm at right now vocally, I am two-thirds done through the album," he said. "Actually, I've been kicking ass lately, and the songs are heavy.

"A lot of different Zetro going on on this album, I think. There's a lot of hills and valleys. I explored a lot of different angles, and I think that everybody's gonna really like it.

"I've gotta say, me as being a heavy metal fan, this is a great heavy metal record, man," he reiterated. "To me, it is. And it's not even done. Leads aren't even really on the thing yet, so there's still a lot of work to get done. And [mixer] Andy Sneap has not even gotten it in his hands yet fully. Actually, the only things at this time that are fully done are the drums. So, other than that, we're all still kind of piecing it together. I think Gary just finished his last rhythm — I believe his rhythms are now finished. So it's on to finishing the vocals, playing lead guitar and [bassist] Jack [Gibson] finishing what he has left to do."

EXODUS's next studio album will be the group's first since the completion of SLAYER's final tour. In 2011, Holt began filling in for Jeff Hanneman at SLAYER live shows, and became the band's full-time co-guitarist as of 2013, while remaining a member of EXODUS.

SEVENDUST's LAJON WITHERSPOON, Wife Suffer Loss Of Baby Due To Pregnancy Complications

SEVENDUST's LAJON WITHERSPOON, Wife Suffer Loss Of Baby Due To Pregnancy Complications

SEVENDUST's Lajon Witherspoon used social media Wednesday (October 7) to let the public he and his wife had suffered the loss of their unborn child.

The singer took to his Instagram to write: "Hey Y'all, As many of the extended @Sevendust family are aware (you know you aren't fans to us, but our family), there was going to be another addition to the Witherspoon family band. We never take these blessings lightly and we know these crazy times present challenges for all of us. Unfortunately, complications arose that we were unable to plan for. Even with the best efforts of everyone involved including my lovely wife Ashley, we lost our precious baby.

"We are so heartbroken. Thankfully Ashley is doing ok and with the support of y'all around us, we will get through this.

"We appreciate the immense outpouring of love that has come our way through this difficult time and for that we just wanted to say thank you from all of us. We love you all and take care of each other."

Lajon and Ashley Witherspoon are the parents of two daughters, Maya Diane and Jada Legend, and a son, Kingston.

Witherspoon grew up in Atlanta, where his father was an R&B musician. He and his family currently reside in Kansas City.

Last month, SEVENDUST announced its first-ever livestream and its only show of 2020: "Sevendust: Live In Your Living Room". The event will take place on October 23 — the release date of the band's 13th studio album, "Blood & Stone", via Rise Records. The show will be live starting at 9:00 p.m. EDT/6:00 p.m. PDT and available globally at the corresponding hour for each territory.

Tickets for the live stream are $17.00 and available here.

The follow-up to 2018's "All I See Is War", "Blood & Stone" was once again tracked at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others.

Witherspoon has spent the last few years working, on and off, on his upcoming debut solo album. He has been collaborating with multi-instrumentalist Daniel "Sahaj" Ticotin, who contributed to MÖTLEY CRÜE's "The Dirt" soundtrack. Witherspoon released the standalone single "Love Song" in 2017.

GEDDY LEE Says 'There Are Really No Unreleased RUSH Songs That Were Worth A Damn'

GEDDY LEE Says 'There Are Really No Unreleased RUSH Songs That Were Worth A Damn'

RUSH bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee discussed the band's longevity in a new interview with Canada's National Post.

"We had a long career; we always went our own way; we weren't afraid to laugh at ourselves — that sense of humour was definitely something we made sure was present in our live shows," he said.

"I think the camaraderie we had for so many years — we really were very close friends. Alex [Lifeson, RUSH guitarist] and I still are. I think that struck home with a lot of fans. People like to see long marriages and long relationships, people who work together without acrimony. Maintaining that civility and friendship, I think appealed to people because everyone wishes to be in that kind of situation."

Lee also talked about the possibility of new music in the not-too-distant future.

"It's interesting, I recently re-released my album [his 2000 solo album 'My Favourite Headache'] on vinyl and that forced me to listen to it again. I'm very proud of it — it's a very intricate record, a deep record, and a lot of love and passion went into it. It did get me thinking that one day I'd like to take that on the road, so you never know. But I have no firm plans to do anything right now. It's not a time when one can plan much, so only time will tell if that comes to fruition."

Asked about the existence of any unreleased RUSH songs that could see the light of day, Geddy said: "There's actually not much in the vaults. We were a band that used what we wrote and if we didn't like what we were writing, we stopped writing it. So there are really no unreleased RUSH songs that were worth a damn. Recording our songs was so difficult and ambitious that we didn't do extra stuff and pick the best."

RUSH drummer Neil Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was 67 years old.

RUSH announced Peart's passing on January 10, setting off shockwaves and an outpouring of grief from fans and musicians all over the world.

RUSH's final show took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 1, 2015. Peart indicated at the time that he wanted to retire while he was still able to play well, along with a desire to spend more time at home with his young daughter.

Geddy's book "Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book Of Bass" was released in December 2018.

SAMMY HAGAR Had Secretly Been In Contact With EDDIE VAN HALEN For Last Few Months: 'It's Been A Love Fest'

SAMMY HAGAR Had Secretly Been In Contact With EDDIE VAN HALEN For Last Few Months: 'It's Been A Love Fest'

Sammy Hagar says that he had been secretly in contact with Eddie Van Halen in the months leading up to the legendary guitarist's death.

Hagar, who previously said he hadn't spoken to Eddie since since the conclusion of VAN HALEN's 2004 reunion tour, revealed his renewed friendship with his former bandmate in a note which was read over the air this morning (Wednesday, October 6) by radio personality Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show.

Hagar wrote: "Eddie and I had been texting, and it's been a love fest since we started communicating earlier this year. We both agreed not to tell anyone, because of all the rumors it would stir up about a reunion, et cetera, and we both knew that wasn't gonna happen. But he also didn't want anyone to know about his health."

Sammy continued: "He stopped responding to me a month ago, and I figured it wasn't good. I reached out one more time last week, and when he didn't respond, I figured it was a matter of time. But it came way too soon."

Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in VAN HALEN in 1985 and recorded four studio albums with the band — "5150", "OU812", "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" and "Balance" — all of which topped the U.S. chart.

Sammy, Eddie, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Michael Anthony last teamed up in 2004 for a U.S. summer tour. In exchange for taking part in the tour, Anthony reportedly had to agree to take a pay cut and sign away his rights to the band name and logo.

This past May, Hagar told Rolling Stone that he was very optimistic about the possibility of a reunion with his VAN HALEN bandmates. "I foresee it happening," he said. "I'm not trying to plant a seed like I know something is happening. I know nothing. I just know what I know in my heart and my head, which is that it has to happen. Whether it's Sam and Dave or not, I don't know that either," referring to the prospect of both him and original VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth the stage with Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang Van Halen. "But I know that Eddie and I are not done. If enough water goes under the bridge before we die, it'll happen. It has to. God is going to slap us both around if he has to."

Sammy went on to say that he didn't agree with Roth's recent assessment that the band was "finished."

"Until Ed or Alex Van Halen die, they're not finished," the 72-year-old rocker told Rolling Stone. "Those are two great musicians that can friggin' do as good as most people at half-mast. As a drummer and as a guitarist and creative person, Eddie, I can't see them ever being finished. I wish they were more active, but I think VAN HALEN will never be finished.

"If they want to get it together, they just have to call Dave or have to call Sammy," he added. "They can go out with [Eddie's son] Wolfie as a trio, but that's not the legacy of VAN HALEN. I think they know that."

Early last year, rumors were rampant that the classic-era lineup of VAN HALEN would reunite for the first time since 1984. It's unclear why the tour didn't happen, though there has been online chatter that a health setback involving Eddie might have been responsible.

Eddie died on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with his son, Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

Eddie died from complications due to cancer, his son confirmed.

The guitarist was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000 and had tongue surgery. He was later diagnosed with throat cancer and reportedly had been receiving radiation treatment in Germany.

ADRIAN VANDENBERG: EDDIE VAN HALEN Was 'Without A Doubt One Of The Absolute Greatest And Most Influential Musicians Of All Time'

Former WHITESNAKE guitarist Adrian Vandenberg has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with his son, Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

Adrian wrote on Instagram: "As everybody will have heard or read by now Eddie (Edward) Van Halen passed away yesterday.

"What a huge loss. Without a doubt one of the absolute greatest and most influential musicians of all time. Millions of guitar players, in the rock field or not, have been influenced by his playing, directly or indirectly. In that respect he was the natural successor to Jimi Hendrix in my opinion, a true pioneer.

"There are so many elements and colours to Eddie's playing; blues, rock, jazz and classical and that whole cocktail bounces out of the speakers, always sparkling with an incredibly dynamic expressiveness. For a player who was seen as a 'rock guitarist' his playing smoothly transcended all genres, proven by Eddie's fluid solo in Michael Jackson's 'Beat It'. Eddie made it seem so effortless, always with that endearing, almost childish smile on his face he'd play stunning solos with an amazing, rock solid sense of timing. I've always felt that because of his explosive solo's his fantastic, tasteful rhythm playing has often been overlooked. His choice and placement of chords, untwined with tasty, fluid licks are just as unique as his solos. I could go on and on.

"Edward Van Halen has a more than well deserved top spot in music history among the all time greats and leaves behind a timeless body of work as a musician, composer and performer. One of a kind.

"R.I.P. Eddie, you'll never be forgotten..

"P.S. Dammit...#eddievanhalen #eddievanhalenrip".

The guitarist was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000 and had tongue surgery. He was later diagnosed with throat cancer and reportedly had been receiving radiation treatment in Germany.

Vandenberg was a member of WHITESNAKE for 13 years at the height of the band's fame, contributing the solo on the group's No. 1 hit "Here I Go Again".

RITCHIE BLACKMORE Says EDDIE VAN HALEN Was 'The Ultimate Guitar Hero'

RITCHIE BLACKMORE Says EDDIE VAN HALEN Was 'The Ultimate Guitar Hero'

Legendary DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who passed away on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65.

Blackmore said in a statement: "Eddie Van Halen was a brilliant guitarist who started a technique of guitar playing which was emulated by a whole generation of guitarists. He was one of the nicest musicians I ever met in the music business. Very shy and not at all conceited about his ability as a guitar player.

"Frank Zappa said [Eddie] reinvented the guitar. I agree.

"He will be sadly missed but his brilliant legacy will always be remembered. The ultimate guitar hero."

Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with his son, Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

The iconic VAN HALEN axeman died from complications due to cancer, his son confirmed.

After undergoing hip replacement surgery in 1999 due to a chronic joint problem, Eddie was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000 and had to have part of his tongue surgically removed. He later battled throat cancer and reportedly had been receiving radiation treatment in Germany. It is believed that his heavy smoking over the years led to his long battle with cancer.

Iconic Producer QUINCY JONES Pays Tribute To EDDIE VAN HALEN

Iconic producer Quincy Jones has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who passed away on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65.

Jones and Van Halen famously worked together when Eddie made a guest appearance on Michael Jackson's masterpiece album "Thriller". He was a surprise guest on "Beat It", the LP's third single. According to CNN, his blazing guitar solo lasted all of 20 seconds and took half an hour to record. He did it for free, as a favor to Jones, while the rest of his VAN HALEN bandmates were out of town.

Earlier today (Wednesday, October 7), Quncy tweeted: "RIP to the GREAT @eddievanhalen . Even though it took a couple calls to convince U it was actually me on the phone :) U killed it on Thriller, & your classic Guitarsolo on Beat It will never be matched. I'll always smile when I think of our time working together. Eternal Red heart & props."

Eddie spoke about his "Beat It" recording session in a 2012 interview with CNN.

"I said to myself, 'Who is going to know that I played on this kid's record, right? Nobody's going to find out,'" he recalled. "Wrong! Big-time wrong. It ended up being Record Of The Year."

EDDIE VAN HALEN's Ex-Wife VALERIE BERTINELLI: 'I'm So Grateful WOLFIE And I Were Able To Hold You In Your Last Moments'

EDDIE VAN HALEN's Ex-Wife VALERIE BERTINELLI: 'I'm So Grateful WOLFIE And I Were Able To Hold You In Your Last Moments'

Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli has paid tribute to the iconic guitarist who died earlier today (Tuesday, October 6) at the age of 65. His death was confirmed by Eddie and Valerie's son, VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.

Earlier today, Valerie shared a photo of her, Eddie and Wolfgang, taken while Wolfgang was was still toddler, and she included the following message: "40 years ago my life changed forever when I met you. You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang. Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin. I'm so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love."

Bertinelli split with Van Halen in 2002 after 21 years of marriage. They officially divorced in 2007. Eddie then went on to marry Janie Liszewski in 2009.

"One of the many reasons that Ed and I split up is to give Wolfie a better vision of what two people who are supposedly in love treat each other like," Valerie told Oprah.com. "Ed and I weren't treating each other like two people that loved each other, and that's what Wolfie was seeing. So I'm hoping that when he does get married and start a life for himself, that he takes his time and marries a friend and not just someone that he can't keep his hands off."

Valerie went on to say that leaving Eddie wasn't an easy choice. "We were all very raw from 9/11, and you heard all these stories of people coming together," she said. "They hated each other and they were back together and divorces weren't happening anymore. And I'm like, 'Am I the only one in the world that wants out now because of 9/11? I'm not going to live my life if it's that tenuous. That's not how I want to live my life anymore.'"

According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was also by his side, along with Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

The site reports that Eddie's ongoing health battle went massively downhill in the last 72 hours, with doctors discovering his cancer had moved to his brain as well as other organs.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding the VAN HALEN guitarist's supposedly worsening health, with TMZ reporting recently that Van Halen has been traveling between the U.S. and Germany for cancer treatment going on several years now.

Last November, TMZ reported that Eddie spent several days in a hospital due to complications from his cancer treatment. Sources close to the legendary guitarist told the site he was admitted to the hospital with intestinal issues and abdominal pain, both the result of a bad reaction to the drugs Eddie was reportedly taking to battle throat cancer.

Anthony took to his Instagram to share a few onstage photos of him and Eddie, and he included the following caption: "No words...Heartbroken, my love to the family".

VAN HALEN and Anthony had not been on good terms for more than a decade, with Anthony not invited to join the reunion with singer David Lee Roth that began in 2007. The subsequent two tours and studio album, "A Different Kind Of Truth", featured Wolfgang on bass.

Anthony took a pay cut and signed away all of his rights to the band name and logo in order to participate in VAN HALEN's 2004 tour, which featured Hagar.

Back in June 2019, Michael — who spent much of the last few years on the road with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE — confirmed to SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" that he was approached by VAN HALEN's management in 2018 about re-teaming with the group.

The rumors originally started with Roth, who hinted to Vulture that VAN HALEN would be playing stadiums in the summer of 2019 with Anthony back in the lineup.

Anthony's THE CIRCLE bandmate Sammy Hagar — himself a former VH member — was the first to publicly confirm that Michael was contacted by VAN HALEN's management about reuniting with the group for a tour.

LAMB OF GOD's MARK MORTON: 'EDDIE VAN HALEN Is The Sole Reason I Ever Dreamed Of Playing Guitar'

LAMB OF GOD's MARK MORTON: 'EDDIE VAN HALEN Is The Sole Reason I Ever Dreamed Of Playing Guitar'

LAMB OF GOD's Mark Morton has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died earlier today (Tuesday, October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist's death was confirmed by his son, and VAN HALEN bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen.

Morton said in a statement: "Edward Van Halen is the world's greatest guitar hero. Pushing the limits of technical ability, innovation and style, Eddie single-handedly set the standard of what rock guitar playing was for his own generation and the ones that followed. His impact was not confined solely to the mastery of guitar. As a songwriter, Edward's pop sensibility and song craft propelled his band VAN HALEN through decades of worldwide, chart-topping success, weathering extreme shifts in popular music trends. His impact on rock music cannot be measured.

"Eddie Van Halen is the sole reason I ever dreamed of playing guitar. Literally millions of people all over the world have found a passion for music through his work. I am grateful to have been one of them.

"Eddie Van Halen will be loved and celebrated forever."

According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

Former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5 has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died earlier today (Tuesday, October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist's death was confirmed by his son, and VAN HALEN bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen.

John 5 said in a statement: "Eddie Van Halen was a modern-day Mozart, and it is just so sad to see him go. He was so young. He is immortal and will live on forever. He was an inventor and the greatest guitar player of all time... The thing is, he took guitar to such new places that no one has done before, and he was just such an incredible player. And on top of all of that, he was an incredible songwriter too.

"Anyone who ever picked up a guitar has played a VAN HALEN riff.

"Eddie was like someone we all might never again see the likes of in this world — he was that special.

"Thank you for changing the world."

AC/DC's ANGUS YOUNG: EDDIE VAN HALEN 'Was A Guitar Wonder, His Playing Pure Wizardry'

AC/DC's ANGUS YOUNG: EDDIE VAN HALEN 'Was A Guitar Wonder, His Playing Pure Wizardry'

AC/DC's Angus Young has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist's death was confirmed by his son, VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen.

Angus said in a statement: "Eddie was a guitar wonder, his playing pure wizardry. To the world of music he was a special gift. To those of us fortunate enough to have met him, a very special person. He leaves a big hole in a lot of hearts. To the Van Halen family my heartfelt sympathies."

In Neil Zlozower's photo book, simply titled "Eddie Van Halen", Angus stated about Eddie: "AC/DC played on a bill with VAN HALEN back in 1978 or 1979 for a Bill Graham 'Day On The Green' show. I didn't know much about VAN HALEN then except that I remember seeing film clips of them, especially the one of Eddie playing the solo piece, 'Eruption', and I was very impressed. I didn't meet Eddie until years later when there was a Monsters Of Rock open-air festival in England. I was shocked to hear he liked my playing, because I've never rated myself as a guitarist.

"Eddie is an innovator. When I grew up we had a lot of guys from England who were great players, like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. And then, of course, when Jimi Hendrix came along, he changed the game. I'd put Eddie in that category of being an innovator like Hendrix. He changed the game for his style of playing. When Eddie came along, he spawned so many imitators. Like Hendrix, suddenly you started to see people wanting to buy the same guitars he played and also play his licks. He turned the rule book upside down in terms of his approach. There was a lot of experimentation to his playing. Eddie also crosses into that avant-garde thing, which puts him in the same category as Hendrix.

"'Eruption' is a favorite track. He's got everything characteristic of his playing in that song — there's a bit of everything.

"When Jimi Hendrix came along it was like, 'Where did this guy come from?', and I think that was the same feeling with Eddie. When Eddie appeared on the scene, every guitarist I ran into said, 'You've gotta hear this guy!'"

According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT And VIVIAN CAMPBELL Pay Tribute To EDDIE VAN HALEN

DEF LEPPARD's Joe Elliott Vivian Campbell have paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died earlier today (Tuesday, October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist's death was confirmed by his son, and VAN HALEN bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen.

Elliott said in a statement: "I saw VAN HALEN destroy [BLACK] SABBATH at the Sheffield City Hall in 1977... Eddie was a big part of that, having essentially reinvented guitar playing just like Jimi Hendrix had done a generation earlier....l had the pleasure of being on the same bill as VAN HALEN 7 years ago when KINGS OF CHAOS were on the same bill at the Stone Music Festival in Australia. I'm happy to say that his playing that night was as good as it's ever been, he certainly shook things up when he came on the scene.... Rest In Peace Eddie.."

Campbell added: "I distinctly remember the first moment I heard Eddie play. A good friend, also a guitarist, had just bought the first VAN HALEN album and came by my house and told me that I urgently needed to hear this. He wasn't wrong; it was a moment that redefined everything that I thought was possible about playing the guitar. The goalposts had just been moved. I stayed up all that night trying to learn from Eddie. Many, many decades later, and I'm still learning from Eddie."

According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE To Perform Entire 'Creatures' Album During Livestream Event

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE To Perform Entire 'Creatures' Album During Livestream Event

Craft Recordings celebrates the 10th anniversary of MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's acclaimed debut album, "Creatures", with a special reissue — available on vinyl, cassette, and digital formats this Friday, October 9. The vinyl release features newly reimagined artwork, while the deluxe digital release includes three bonus tracks — "Dragula", "Creatures" (Celldweller Beauty Remix), and "Mallevs Maleficarvm" (Tim Skold Remix). Limited to just 1,000 copies, the cassette of "Creatures" can be found via the band's web site or at CraftRecordings.com. The LP, meanwhile, comes pressed on yellow, purple, and black-splattered vinyl and is available exclusively on the band's web site. The band also plans to perform "Creatures" in its entirety during a streaming event on October 28. Tickets for the livestream are on sale now at miwmerch.com.

Declared to be "America's premier industri-metal goth-core outfit" by Alternative Press, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE formed in 2005 when the Scranton, Pennsylvania band members were still in high school. Influenced by MARILYN MANSON, DEPECHE MODE, SLIPKNOT and ROB ZOMBIE, the young group gained a devoted fan base, thanks to their moody blend of driving metal, goth, and industrial music, as well as their striking aesthetic.

Following their 2007 debut EP, "The Whorror", and a successful run on the Warped Tour, MIW caught the ears of Fearless Records. Upon signing, they released a follow-up EP, "When Love Met Destruction" (2009), and entered the studio with producer Andrew Wade (THE WORD ALIVE, A DAY TO REMEMBER, CHUNK! NO, CAPTAIN CHUNK!), to record their first full-length.

The result was 2010's "Creatures", which was inspired by — and dedicated to — the band's ardent fanbase (who call themselves "Creatures"). Ahead of recording, MIW encouraged their fans to send in lyrics — many of which were collectively included in the title track. The album also included the participation of fellow artists, including Nick Brooks of IT DIES TODAY, who contributed vocals to the single "Abigail", as well as Andre Bravo of IN ALCATRAZ 1962, who sang on "Cobwebs". Other highlights included "Immaculate Misconception" (the video included a cameo by TWISTED SISTER's Dee Snider) and single "Puppets (The First Snow)".

Upon its release, "Creatures" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and peaked in the Hard Rock Albums' Top 20. It also received a warm reception from the critics. AllMusic praised the band's use of synthesizers "to create a dark and uneasy atmosphere. This blend of the frightening and the familiar gives 'Creatures' not only the ability to draw fans in with something they'll immediately click with but which will keep them coming back for another helping." The U.K.'s Rock Sound declared, "It's good to see an of-the-moment band taking things seriously," adding that MIW "push past the boundaries of screamo into more metallic territories, their intermittently screamed and harmonized vocals, epic choruses, and brutal breakdowns keep them firmly in touch with their roots."

Since then, MIW has released four more full-lengths, including their best-selling 2014 LP, "Reincarnate", which debuted at No.9 on the Billboard Top 200, and No.1 on the Rock Albums chart. The band, which currently consists of frontman Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, Ryan Sitkowski (guitar), Ricky "Horror" Olson (rhythm guitar), Vinny Mauro (drums), and bassist Justin Morrow, released their fifth studio album, "Disguise", in 2019, and followed with a rigorous headlining tour. Most recently, they shared a well-received cover of THE KILLERS' "Somebody Told Me" to streaming platforms, while this spring, the band confirmed that they are working on new material.

"After 10 years of our monumental record 'Creatures', we are pleased to celebrate this October with a limited reissue vinyl featuring a completely revamped artwork, our first-ever throwback cassette tape pressing of an album, a digital deluxe edition, and most excitingly…our first-ever performance of a record in entirety in which we will be performing the 'Creatures' album as a stream on the 28th of the month," says Chris Motionless. "After 10 years, we are so grateful that our fans hold this record as close to their hearts as we do and cannot thank them enough for helping us reach our first 10-year anniversary of an album. Here's to 10 more!"

Traveling from city to city, the community continues to grow, joined by a growing number of people fleeing the modern world in search of a better life and meaning in their existence.

Their name, The Stranglings, comes from a tribute to Mr. Strangler, who became a symbol of freedom, and their feeling of being strangled by society. A new trilogy begins: The Stranglings Trilogy.

ALBERT BOUCHARD Reimagines BLUE ÖYSTER CULT's 'Imaginos' Album With 'Re Imaginos'

ALBERT BOUCHARD Reimagines BLUE ÖYSTER CULT's 'Imaginos' Album With 'Re Imaginos'

Albert Bouchard, who is best known as a founding member of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, will release "Re Imaginos" on November 6 through he and his brother's (Joe Bouchard) new imprint label, RockHeart Records/Deko Entertainment (ADA/Warner Music Group). The album is Albert's reimagining of the 1988 BLUE ÖYSTER CULT LP "Imaginos", which was originally intended as Albert's solo album. As Albert explains: "Most BOC fans know at this point that 'Imaginos' was supposed to be my solo album. Some people think it's the best BOC album, others think it's not a 'true' BOC album. In either case, they're right. I made this new album for them so that they can hear a more properly realized version of the tale."

The original BLUE ÖYSTER CULT lineup sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart "Burning For You".

"Black Telescope" is the first single and video and tells the story of an undead creature that takes the form of a fish and now uses alchemy to rule the solar system. This being sees with the power of the mind and does not need eyes. It was more ordinary and needed the help of technology to rule the world in the past, at a time when it was in the shape of a human sailor and knew the dangers of the deep. When the sailor went to the telescope workshop, he experienced a strange rebirth and became an all-powerful force.

Also to celebrate the launch of RockHeart Records and the release of "Re Imaginos", the Bouchard brothers are offering a limited amount of the official RockHeart Records cowbell autographed personally by both Joe and Albert.

Albert's infamous cowbell part in "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" was the basis of the classic Will Ferrell skit on "SNL", which also starred Christopher Walken. With "The Reaper", an all-time classic on YouTube and every other digital platform, with zillions of views, the Bouchard brothers are forever cemented in pop culture.

"Re Imaginos" track listing:

01. I Am The One You Warned Me Of

02. Del Rio Song

SHINEDOWN Gives $250,000 From 'Atlas Falls' Fundraiser To DIRECT RELIEF

SHINEDOWN Gives $250,000 From 'Atlas Falls' Fundraiser To DIRECT RELIEF

SHINEDOWN has presented its first installment check of $230,000 from their "Atlas Falls" COVID-19 fundraiser to humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief, one of the largest providers of humanitarian medical resources in the world whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care. This follows the $20,000 that SHINEDOWN donated to kick off the fundraiser in March, bringing the total delivered to Direct Relief so far to a quarter million dollars. More than $300,000 has been raised to date and counting.

Direct Relief has been working tirelessly to provide personal protective equipment to frontline health workers responding to coronavirus (COVID-19) and essential medications and supplies for patients. This includes 10,800 shipments to more than 1,800 health care facilities across all 50 U.S. states and 62 countries, totaling more than 3.4 million masks, 2.8 million gloves, 119,000 gowns and coveralls, 600 oxygen concentrators and ventilators, as well as 40.1 million doses of medications to treat a range of chronic and acute health conditions.

Originally written in 2013, the song "Atlas Falls" was first made available from SHINEDOWN's vault in March as part of an exclusive song and t-shirt bundle for the band‘s COVID-19 fundraising effort with all proceeds going to Direct Relief. Following an overwhelming response to the song, its reassuring message of optimism and faith in humanity spread even further upon its global release in May. Drawing inspiration from the Greek myth of titan Atlas who carries a celestial sphere on his shoulders, "Atlas Falls" offers a reminder that if Atlas falls, we will hold each other up in times of strife and stand tall together. The "Atlas Falls" t-shirt is still available with 100% of proceeds continuing to go to Direct Relief.

"Atlas Falls" recently gave SHINEDOWN the record for the most No. 1s ever in the nearly 40-year history of the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart, scoring their 16th No. 1. The song also marked the band's 17th No. 1 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart and their sixth consecutive No. 1, following "How Did You Love", "Devil", "Get Up", "Monsters" and "Attention Attention".

STRYPER Releases Music Video For 'Divider'

STRYPER Releases Music Video For 'Divider'

The official music video for "Divider", the new single from openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Even The Devil Believes", which was released on September 4 via Frontiers Music Srl.

STRYPER comments: "We are so amazed at the response of our first video, 'Do Unto Others'.

"We are very blessed to have been able to not only shoot one video but to also shoot a second video for 'Divider'.

"This song has received an incredible amount of positive comments from fans worldwide. And to top it off, we recorded a group of fans on the choruses. They nailed it!!

"We're very happy to bring you yet another incredible video (despite the obstacles and difficulties of trying to do so) and we hope you like what you see/hear. Please help us spread the word and take this one to the top. Here is 'Divider'!"

Filled with the band's signature riffs, harmony-laden melodies and positive themes, the 11-track project is STRYPER's first studio album with Perry Richardson (FIREHOUSE) on bass and background vocals.

"We're incredibly happy to write a new chapter in the book of STRYPER," says vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet, who has served as the band's primary songwriter since its inception in 1983. "This album was recorded during the pandemic, and I believe the message pertains to the times we are living in so perfectly. It's a recording of hope and inspiration and a light in the darkest of times."

Sweet, who also produced the new album, revealed that the band members delivered focused determination, a collaborative spirit and spot-on execution for the new record. The result is a collection of remarkable songs that will leave a strong impact on listeners.

"It has an energy unlike any other album we've done," he asserts. "We even pulled a song from the past that has never been heard or released, and by doing so we brought a little bit of 1989 back into the mix."

Other standout tracks include "Blood From Above", "Make Love Great Again", "Do Unto Others", "How To Fly" and the heart-stirring ballad "This I Pray".

"The music and lyrics are rock-solid," says Sweet. "God really blessed this one and hopefully it will bless everyone who hears it as well."

Most of the recording sessions for STRYPER's new LP took place at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts with engineer Danny Bernini.

Formed 37 years ago, STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

STRYPER's albums include "To Hell With The Devil", "Second Coming", "No More Hell To Pay", "Fallen" and "God Damn Evil".

BROKENRAIL Unleash New Single / Video "The Hate"

BROKENRAIL Unleash New Single / Video "The Hate"

Birmingham, AL based BrokenRail has released the official music video for their new single, "The Hate". Written and recorded during the lockdowns, "The Hate" not only introduces an all new era of BrokenRail, but captures the raw emotion of being left behind in a world trapped with panic, chaos, unrest, uncertainty, and anxiety. It reflects the current state of the world facing lockdown, financial insecurity, social unrest, and the overall experience of living through a global pandemic. We must come together and accept our differences and find the common ground amongst us. United we are strong, divided we fall.

"When writing 'The Hate' we really wanted the song to not only showcase the abilities of each of our members, but to also reflect all of the negative emotion worldwide stemming from the virus and the lockdowns it caused. We feel between the song itself, and the video we created, we truly captured a snapshot of the current state of the world as COVID-19 helped fan the flames and fuel the fires of hate across our Earth. We hope you enjoy the new direction and we're thrilled to bring you the new album later this year!" - Blake Clawson (lead vocalist)

THE AGONIST Vocalist VICKY PSARAKIS Pays Tribute To DEVIN TOWNSEND With "Vampira" Cover (Video)

The Agonist vocalist Vicky Psarakis has released another cover song along with the following message:

"Me and Cody Johnstone had so much fun filming this. I know I could not stop smiling while editing the footage. Here we go guys... here's our tribute to the great Devin Townsend! Happy October!"

Psarakis recently checked in with the following:

"Aaaand it's out! Check out my cover of 'Only For The Weak' by In Flames!

I first heard this song over half of my life ago. Clayman was one of the albums that I blasted on repeat as a teenager and a big reason for me getting into death metal! Really happy to have worked with Quentin Cornet on this one. He did an excellent job on recording and mixing the entire track!

This is just the beginning of much more to come!"

FATES WARNING Releases Lyric Video For New Single 'Now Comes The Rain'

FATES WARNING Releases Lyric Video For New Single 'Now Comes The Rain'

On November 6, FATES WARNING will release its new album, "Long Day Good Night", via Metal Blade Records. The official lyric video for the disc's second single, "Now Comes The Rain", can be seen below.

FATES WARNING has been a formidable presence in progressive metal for more than 35 years, helping to shape and drive the genre without ever compromising its integrity or losing relevance. They return in 2020 with "Long Day Good Night", the most epic and longest album of its storied career, mixed by Joe Barresi.

"The styles of music we've written distinguish this record from the rest of our catalogue," states vocalist Ray Alder. "There are some songs with electronics and some with a nice ethereal feel, as well as some pretty straightforward grooves, at least for us. And there are also some pretty heavy songs. We tried to give the listener a host of different things to listen to, as opposed to an album where every song sounds the same." As such, the album is something of a rollercoaster ride, moving through various moods and making for perhaps their most vital release to date.

Guitarist Jim Matheos began writing the album in mid-2019, working closely with Alder for about a year, honing the songs, completing 13 for their 13th full-length — which, uncoincidentally, has a total running time of 72:22. Despite their long history of making records, Alder makes it clear that the songs take a lot of work to realize.

"Like all albums, nothing comes easy," he says. "It's quite a process to go from the idea to the actual finished song. Sometimes you think you're done with it, then you hear something else and you have to try that. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but you at least have to try it just so you know that in the end you've done everything possible to make it as good as it can be. Jim and I spent practically every day for the last year writing this album. I am very happy with the outcome, and with the blend of styles. I guess I could say that this album represents all of the years that we have been together."

The record also features guest appearances from touring guitarist Mike Abdow, who contributed some solos, plus PORCUPINE TREE/THE PINEAPPLE THIEF drummer Gavin Harrison, who plays on "When Snow Falls". "Under The Sun" sees the band incorporating a full string section for the first time.

"Long Day Good Night" track listing:

01. The Destination Onward

02. Shuttered World

03. Alone We Walk

04. Now Comes The Rain

05. The Way Home

06. Under The Sun

07. Scars

08. Begin Again

09. When Snow Falls

10. Liar

11. Glass Houses

12. The Longest Shadow Of The Day

13. The Last Song

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS To Perform Entire 'Purple' Album During Livestream Event

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS To Perform Entire 'Purple' Album During Livestream Event

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will perform their iconic album "Purple" in its entirety for an epic livestream event on Friday October 16 at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST via watch.stonetemplepilots.com.

Tickets for the livestream event are $10.00 and can be purchased here.

Exclusive STP merch will be available to ticket purchasers.

When STONE TEMPLE PILOTS returned to the studio in 1994 to record the band's second album, the quartet was facing the high expectations set by its debut "Core" (1992), which sold more than eight million copies and earned a Grammy Award. The release of "Purple" on June 7, 1994 would cement their place as one of the definitive bands of their generation as the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart on its way to selling more than six million copies.

Scott Weiland, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz recorded most of "Purple" in Atlanta with producer Brendan O'Brien. The album features some of the group's most iconic tracks, including "Interstate Love Song" and "Vasoline" — which both topped the Mainstream Rock chart in 1994.

"Purple: Super Deluxe Edition" was made available in September 2019 via Rhino. The 3-CD/1-LP set includes a newly remastered version of the original studio album on both CD and vinyl, plus unreleased versions of album tracks and rarities, along with an unreleased full concert recording from 1994. On the same day, the music was made available both digitally and as a 2-CD Deluxe Edition.

"Purple: Super Deluxe Edition" explores the making of the album with a mix of unreleased music that includes demos ("Unglued" and "Army Ants") and early versions of album tracks ("Meat Plow" and "Interstate Love Song"), plus acoustic recordings ("Big Empty"). The collection also features three unreleased live performances from the 1994 KROQ Acoustic Christmas show, including a version of "Christmastime Is Here" from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Perhaps the biggest surprise of the new collection, however, is STP's previously unreleased demo of "She Knows Me Too Well", a song the BEACH BOYS originally recorded in 1965.

"Purple: Super Deluxe Edition" closes with a previously unreleased recording of the band's August 23, 1994 concert in New Haven, Connecticut. The electrifying 17-song performance captures the band in top form with both electric and acoustic sets, featuring 10 songs from "Purple" along with hits from "Core" ("Plush" and "Sex Type Thing") and covers (David Bowie's "Andy Warhol" and Woody Guthrie's "Gypsy Davy").

MEXICAN APE-LORD Drops New Song “So Much Wasted Rope”; Survival Cannibalism Tracklisting Revealed

MEXICAN APE-LORD Drops New Song “So Much Wasted Rope”; Survival Cannibalism Tracklisting Revealed

Mexican Ape-Lord, "the raw and epic metal band from Boston" have released a second song “So Much Wasted Rope” from their upcoming album, Survival Cannibalism, due out on October 9th via Unable Records. The songs on Survival Cannibalism were inspired by a true story of the Nottingham Galley shipwreck and the cannibalism that took place on Boon Island, Maine in 1710.

“I wanted to get inside the heads of these tormented guys, whose suffering drove them to do the unthinkable,” says singer Jon Hardy. “It’s an grim subject, obviously, but a great one for Tony, Dan, and Steve, because they are masterful at covering the full range, musically - from utter darkness to the thrill of cheating death.”

Drummer Steve Fry on the recording of “So Much Wasted Rope” said: “From the very beginning, this song was always among my favorites because it just sounded like pure trouble haha! Especially that verse riff…it’s completely up to no good! So when I was coming up with the drum parts, it was all about accentuating that. I just wanted to lay into it with that simple kick/snare combo so it would be powerful while giving the riff the space to do its thing. It's one of those songs I like to think it's actually more about what you DON’T do as a drummer than what you do that makes all the difference!”

The band’s debut album, The Late Heavy Bombardment, was released in 2014 on Unable Records and made a slew of top ten lists. BraveWords called it “a balls-out metal album” and True Metal Lives declared, “It proudly stands up and gives genre labeling the big middle finger.”

Survival Cannibalism tracklisting:
“Black Cloud”
“Situation”
“No Deliverance”
“So Much Wasted Rope”
“The Devil Does Divide Us”
“Stinkin’ Drunk on Blood”
“Dereliction”
“Mezzick and Drakelord”

Mexican Ape-Lord features Meliah Rage founding guitarist/songwriter Anthony Nichols, The Bags vocalist/bassist Jon Hardy, drummer named Steve Fry (Crotalus, Graveheart) and lead guitarist Dan Dykes (Triphammer).
