TODAY IS THE DAY – Limited Remastered Edition Of Willpower Album Now Available; “Sidewinder” Visualizer Streaming

TODAY IS THE DAY – Limited Remastered Edition Of Willpower Album Now Available; “Sidewinder” Visualizer Streaming

As visionary noise rock/metal outfit Today Is The Day continues to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, the band presents a special remastered vinyl repress of their seminal Willpower LP, along with a new visualizer video for the track “Sidewinder.”

Today Is The Day’s second album, Willpower was originally released in September of 1994 on the infamous Amphetamine Reptile roster. Having gnawed their way into the scene on their Supernova debut, Willpower showcased the same lineup as its predecessor yet delivered an even more expansive and monstrous demonstration of the band’s demented and singular sound. Drummer Brad Elrod, bassist Mike Herrell, and vocalist/guitarist/producer Steve Austin delivered what would become an instant benchmark in underground metal which remains a fan favorite among the band’s vast catalog nearly three decades later.

Following a CD reissue through Steve Austin’s own SuperNova Records in 2007, and a subsequent vinyl repress through Relapse Records in 2010, Willpower has since remained out of print until now. For its 2022 resurrection, Austin went back to the original analog masters and gave it only slight adjustments to bring the most raw and original sound of the album, expertly crafted for a modern vinyl release. The record sees the original eight songs as well as the bonus track “Execution Style,” found on an installment of the AmRep compilation series Dope-Guns-'N-Fucking In The Streets.

The 2022 Willpower reissue sees the remastered album pressed on Gold vinyl in a run of 300 copies, alongside a reboot of the classic shirt design from the album’s original release featuring Satan and the decimated US flag.

“This new master made from the original Willpower mixes that were unmastered. I worked to make this sonically accurate to the way it sounded in the studio, in 1994, with the vintage analog outboard gear running into state-of-the-art Audio to Digital converters. This is Willpower in all its glory. I can feel it. I can’t wait for you to experience it.”

The track “Sidewinder” from the new remaster has been resurrected through a new visualizer, directed by David Brenner (Gridfailure) utilizing promo and live photos of the band, the studio gear used on the album, and other graphics and scanned ephemera reflective of the Willpower era.

The Willpower LP reissue can be ordered – where many exclusive items including test pressings, signed LPs, and other unique merch and products from the Today Is The Day vault are available – at the SuperNova Records webshop.

Willpower was also reissued digitally last year alongside the rest of the Today Is The Day catalog which can be found at various streaming services.

Today Is The Day will announce additional back-catalog reissues in the months ahead as well as new music. The current recording lineup gathered at Austin Enterprise in Orland, Maine in March and recorded the bulk of the band’s fifteenth full-length which will be completed for release through SuperNova in early 2023.

Canada's IRON KINGDOM Reveal The Blood Of Creation Album Details

Canada's IRON KINGDOM Reveal The Blood Of Creation Album Details

Vancouver, Canada's Iron Kingdom has been slicing and shredding NWOTHM anthems for metal fans for over a decade since their inception in 2011. The band will be unleashing their fifth studio album, The Blood Of Creation, on November 4 and they are excited to share its cover artwork and tracklisting.

"This album is quite dark topically, the lyrics speak of war, fear, sacrifice, and pain, and the music although very classical and explorative also has some very evil moments throughout. We were in a dark place due to the pandemic and the music reflects some of those emotions," says guitarist/vocalist Chris Osterman.

The Blood Of Creation continues the reign of classic heavy metal that Iron Kingdom has been presenting over the years to music lovers of the style along with keeping the flame burning for a new generation.

"We wanted to create music in a style of metal that seemed to have been forgotten when we were kids. Since no one else seemed to be doing it, we decided to play metal the way it used to be played in the 70s and 80s. That was the reason for forming Iron Kingdom. Essentially, we wanted to give people an exciting show like an early Iron Maiden, Scorpions, or Saxon show from the 1980s," recalls Osterman on the beginnings of the band.

Iron Kingdom has come a long way since their 2011 debut Curse Of The Voodoo Queen and their next offering is a potent full force of classic shredding heavy metal thunder and will take the fans into some unique fantastic worlds, but will also show a dark side of storytelling.

"I think we started as a bit more of a hard rock band on the first record, taking a progressive metal dive for Gates Of Eternity and Ride For Glory, then for On The Hunt, I’d say we went fully classic metal, leading into this new record being a pretty solid mix of all those styles combined. We also came out of the pandemic, which brought some darker emotions some people may have never experienced previously that I think this album may parallel. In the end though, we want people to get the chance to escape this world for a time and find solace in the music," adds Osterman.

The new album also sees new drummer Max Friesen (ex-Ophelia Falling) making his recording debut with the band to add another angle to their songwriting for this release. The album was self-produced by Iron Kingdom with mixing done by Andy Boldt and mastering by Greg Reely (Overkill, Fear Factory, 3 Inches of Blood).

CARRION VAEL Reveal "Tithes Of Forbearance" Lyric Video

CARRION VAEL Reveal "Tithes Of Forbearance" Lyric Video

Melodic death metallers Carrion Vael are celebrating the release of their latest album, Abhorrent Obsessions, with a lyric video for the song "Tithes Of Forbearance", as well as a string of live dates in the US and Canada. Abhorrent Obsessions was released on August 12th via Unique Leader.

Commenting on the tour, vocalist Travis Lawson Purcell shared: “'We are very excited to hit the road for a few days in support of our Abhorrent Obsessions release. We will going out for a lot more shows throughout the rest of 2022, with even bigger things in store for 2023."

Elaborating on the video, he continued: "'Tithes Of Forbearance' touches on the life and crimes of Herbert Mullin. Mullin’s severe paranoid schizophrenia made him believe that only blood, derived through the killing of 13 people, could save the state of California from God’s wrath of an earthquake which would result in the state falling into the Pacific Ocean. He once confessed his murders to a priest, but upon exiting the confession booth, realized that God would actually prefer he bashed Father Henri Tomei’s head in instead."

Carrion Vael tour dates:

September
8 - The Kingsland - Brooklyn, New York
9 - Parana Bar - Montreal, Quebec
10 - Care Dekuf - Ottawa, Ontario
11 - Rhythm And Brews - Cambridge, Ontario

Carrion Vael vocalist Travis Lawson Purcell described the new album: “Abhorrent Obsessions is a psychological look into the mind of the famously deranged, sick, and murderous ones amongst us. Technical, brutal, and melodically charged, we wrote this album with the utmost in absolute savagery at heart.”

"Kentucky Fried Strangulation"

AEROSMITH Share "Rocksimus Maximus Tour At Comerica Park, Detroit, MI (September 7, 2003)" From The Vault; Video Streaming

In continued celebration of their 50th anniversary, the four-time Grammy Award-winning and Diamond-certified rock legends Aerosmith, (Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer), recently launched 50 Years Live!: From The Aerosmith Vaults, the band’s new “official bootleg” streaming concert series featuring five deep, archival, and unreleased multi-camera live shows from Aerosmith’s vast personal vaults.

Available now is Rocksimus Maximus Tour at Comerica Park, Detroit, MI (September 7, 2003). Watch below.

Aerosmith kicks things into high gear with “Mama Kin” as the band storms through Michigan on the Rocksimus Maximus Tour on September 7, 2003 at Comerica Park. Included are classics such as “Same Old Song And Dance” and “Walk This Way,” as well as “Jaded,” “Love In An Elevator,” and the Grammy Award-winning single “Pink.” Aerosmith brings the incredible night to a close in a cloud of confetti and a frenetic version of “Toys In The Attic.” Unearthed from Aerosmith’s legendary archive for the very first time and remastered in HD from the original master tapes.

For 50 Years Live!: From the Aerosmith Vaults, producer Steve Berkowitz, along with long-time Aerosmith employees Tommy Higgins & John Bionelli, combed through the band’s vast Vindaloo Vaults, unearthing a treasure trove of filmed concerts recorded in the original formats of the day, covering the band’s history throughout the decades. With the help of Director and Producer Jennifer LeBeau (Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon), this footage was carefully transferred and converted to digital to help preserve these historic recorded documents. Produced by Steve Berkowitz and Dennis Wolfe, the video and audio restoration was skillfully conducted by Vanderquest UK and Formosa Sound, giving these performances the highest possible visual and sonic quality.

For five consecutive weeks, Aerosmith’s official website and YouTube channel will premiere a different concert every week from each decade. With each show, the band’s official online store will also feature a new collection of exclusive merchandise capsules celebrating each decade. Head here.

Aerosmith are set to return to Las Vegas to bring their critically acclaimed residency, Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild to the Dolby Live at Park MGM.  Kicking off September 14 - with shows running through December 11 - the residency is the first live concert experience presented in Dolby Atmos® at Dolby Live. ROCK GODDESS Announces 'Retirement' From Live Performances

ROCK GODDESS Announces 'Retirement' From Live Performances

ROCK GODDESS — the reformed female power trio from the days of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) — has announced its "retirement" from live performances.

Earlier today (Friday, August 19), ROCK GODDESS released the following statement via social media: "With a very sad, heavy heart we have to announce we can't continue in the present form of ROCK GODDESS.

"In this modern world our journey has been a little bit harder. Logistical and financial obstacles playing a big part. After the latest bout of bad luck getting covid in the camp, just before the major festival Barcelona RockFest, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. So sadly we announce our retirement on the live circuit effective immediately.

"We love our fans and appreciate everything you have done. Thank you to our Manager Richard Thompson, and his belief, dedication, and hard work. To our agent Martin Jarvis for his faith and understanding. To our father who started and managed ROCK GODDESS, without whom none of this would have been possible. To our family and friends who helped along the way since our reformation. And TO THE FANS who have supported through thick and thin. Thank you. Really. THANK YOU! Without you, this would not have been the amazing, wonderful experience that it has been. To each and every one of you, we love you and are eternally grateful.

"We have a boxset of unreleased material and live work waiting on Universal approving (it's been many months …). But we hope you will be interested. We hope it comes to fruition as there are some surprises on there!

"Love always, Jody, Julie and Jen xxx".

ROCK GODDESS's comeback album, "This Time", was released in 2019. The effort, which was made available via the band's own label, Bite You To Death Records, in conjunction with partners worldwide and digitally via Cargo Records, was recorded in 2018 at a London studio with producer Wes Maebe (UB40, Robert Plant, NEW MODEL ARMY, PRAYING MANTIS).

In 2018, ROCK GODDESS parted ways with bassist Tracey Lamb and replaced her with Jenny Lane.

Prior to the arrival of "This Time", ROCK GODDESS's last release had been a three-song EP, "It's More Than Rock And Roll", which came out in May 2017.

ROCK GODDESS was formed in 1977 in Wandsworth South London by Jody Turner (guitar and vocals) and Julie Turner (drums) when they were thirteen and nine years old, respectively. They recruited school friend Tracey Lamb on bass guitar.

ROCK GODDESS first rose to the nation's awareness when they were first featured in Kerrang! No. 5 in 1981 in the "Armed And Ready" section as one of the bands to watch out for. After recording a four-track demo tape and an appearance at the Reading Festival in 1982, sharing a bill with IRON MAIDEN, plus regular shows at the Marquee club, the band landed a contract with the A&M label. They recorded their eponymous debut album with producer Vic Maile in 1983 and hit the lower end of the charts. A follow-up album, "Hell Hath No Fury", arrived a year later, by which time Lamb had left the band to form SHE and later to join GIRLSCHOOL.

After their contract with A&M expired in 1987, ROCK GODDESS' already recorded (in 1985) third album, titled "Young And Free", was released only in France. The effort saw the band taking on a more commercial sound.

ROCK GODDESS' career was cut short by financial and contractual problems, which forced them to disband shortly thereafter.

ROCK GODDESS briefly reformed in 2009 and was due to play Hard Rock Hell festival in Prestatyn, and was also booked to perform at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany the following summer, but split before they had a chance to appear at either event.

In March 2013, it was announced that the original ROCK GODDESS lineup had reunited and would start recording a new album.

STATEMENT ❤️

With a very sad, heavy heart we have to announce we can't continue in the present form of Rock Goddess. In...

Watch: HALESTORM Puts A Metal Spin On ADELE's 'Hello'

Watch: HALESTORM Puts A Metal Spin On ADELE's 'Hello'

HALESTORM has shared its cover of Adele's "Hello". Check it out below.

The band uploaded its rendition of the track in response to a fan request for the Lzzy Hale-fronted outfit to "put a metal spin" on the song which was originally released in 2015 as the lead single from the English singer-songwriter's third studio album, "25".

Last month, HALESTORM also shared a cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene".

In recent years, Lzzy has been performing intimate cover versions of songs by some of her favorite pop divas during HALESTORM's concerts. "I started playing Adele's 'Someone Like You', amongst other things, in the middle of our set," she told Radio.com back in 2018. "We have a small section where we'll roll out my piano and I'll do our song 'Dear Daughter', and then I'll throw in some other things; for a while, it was Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always You'."

She continued: "It's fun to throw those things out there, because I think that no matter what walk of life you come from, or even the fact that it's at a rock show, we can all agree that Adele's awesome, and so is Whitney Houston. And I love looking at, like, the poster child for metal and masculinity staring at me in the front row and just seeing them sing every word."

HALESTORM is continuing to tour in support of its fifth studio album album, "Back From The Dead", which was released in May via Atlantic. The follow-up to 2018's "Vicious" was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, MASTODON, ALICE IN CHAINS) with co-production by Scott Stevens (SHINEDOWN, DAUGHTRY, NEW YEARS DAY).

Lzzy and her brother Arejay (drums) formed the band in 1998 while in middle school. Guitarist Joe Hottinger joined the group in 2003, followed by bassist Josh Smith in 2004.

In December 2018, HALESTORM was nominated for a "Best Rock Performance" Grammy Award for its song "Uncomfortable". Six years earlier, the band won its first Grammy in the category of "Best Hard Rock/ Metal Performance" for "Love Bites (So Do I)".

SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE Release Video For New Single 'Pump It Up'

SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE Release Video For New Single 'Pump It Up'

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted, Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Sammy Hagar has debuted the video for "Pump It Up" with his Billboard-chart-topping supergroup THE CIRCLE. "Pump It Up", a cover of ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS' 1978 classic, was recorded live during a warm-up session, and on the encouragement of the album's producer Dave Cobb, who also plays rhythm guitar on the track, it made the album. "Pump It Up" is available today on all digital and streaming platforms. The CD and vinyl configurations, including a translucent red color vinyl exclusive, are available for pre-order. The music video was directed by Travis Detweiler.

Upon the release of the album's title track "Crazy Times" in July, Guitar World said, "Front and center we have Hagar's voice, … all syrup and gravel and soul. Stick your best pair of headphones on and listen to the track – you can hear that this choice is money well spent." The album, set for release on Friday, September 30 via Ume, finds Hagar, fellow Hall Of Famer and longtime bassist Michael Anthony, Grammy-winning drummer Jason Bonham and Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso Vic Johnson changing course, traveling to Nashville's RCA Studio A to record with Cobb. The eight-time Grammy Award-winning producer, who grew up obsessively listening to Hagar, set out to record "the definitive Sammy Hagar record." The new album includes 10 songs, nine of which Hagar wrote or co-wrote, along with the notable cover "Pump It Up". As Hagar explained, "We went in the studio with six songs and came out with 10. We ended up cowriting three songs with Dave Cobb and he played rhythm guitar on every track. 'Pump it Up' was a surprise, that when we played back we all went 'that sounds f'ing great'."

In support of the album's release, SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE will headline the Illinois State Fair on Sunday, August 21, before returning to their critically acclaimed "Crazy Times" U.S. tour on August 23 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Michigan. Fans and critics have been raving about the new songs, which have found their way into the tour's greatest hits-heavy setlist. Produced by Live Nation, the tour hits amphitheaters in major cities throughout the U.S. before wrapping on Saturday, October 1 in Sacramento, California. Following the tour, Hagar will celebrate his 75th birthday at his annual week of Birthday Bash concerts at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Visit RedRocker.com for ticket information.

"Crazy Times" track listing:

01. Intro: The Beginning Of The End
02. Slow Drain
03. Feed Your Head
04. Pump It Up
05. Be Still
06. You Get What You Pay For
07. Crazy Times
08. Funky Feng Shui
09. Father Time
10. Childhoods End

Hagar told Cincinnati.com about "Crazy Times": "I didn't write any different going in. Dave told me, 'I want the definitive Sammy Hagar record.' He knows how writers my age, when you've written 30 albums or whatever, four or five hundred songs, start questioning — I've said that before. Oh, I played that. He coached me when we talked about it: 'I want to hear 'Standing Hampton'. I want to hear VAN HALEN.' I'd just sit in the room with my guitar and turn on my iPhone and scream into it. And he gave me that kind of feedback, and I got into it.

"I went in with five songs. Then I wrote a couple more for him. And then we got in there and we ended up with 10. Every song is a five-piece. Dave cut every single song with us on guitar. And he was so musical. He led the arrangements. He got us in and out of there in five days for 10 songs. Most guys five days in are still getting the drum sounds."

KIRK HAMMETT Explains Why METALLICA Takes So Long Between Studio Albums

KIRK HAMMETT Explains Why METALLICA Takes So Long Between Studio Albums

METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett, whose recently released "Portals" EP marked his first-ever foray as a solo artist, was asked in a new interview with Goldmine magazine why he and his bandmates take so long between records. (In 40 years, METALLICA has released 10 albums.) he responded: "Yeah, you know, it's not getting any quicker, too. It's just like, we have a way of working. We have a process that unfortunately takes a long time. It's just the way we work, the way it is, the way it works as a band. And I've grown to accept that.

"You know, putting out 'Portals' is great for me because it kind of frees me up from that schedule," Kirk explained. "I can come up with a few tracks, record them and put them out, and I can do it on a completely different time schedule from the band. And that's great because it doesn't seem to get in the way of the band's schedule because, like I say, we move at our own pace."

Hammett also touched upon his songwriting approach in METALLICA, saying: "When I go in and create METALLICA stuff, I give it my full creative energies. The way I look at it is, all the notes are already there. You just have to find them. I'm serious. They're already there. You just gotta friggin' find them. And so there's that but also a reliance on spontaneity, on real in-the-moment creation. I think that's where I'm most effective. It's like, any time I sit down to try and compose something that should be spontaneous, it ends up sounding composed. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think catching yourself in a spontaneous moment is just much more exciting and much more honest. That might not make me sound like Eddie Van Halen, but that's beside the point. I really feel like I'm playing for the song when I play that way."

Two years ago, Hammett told Metal Hammer magazine that there was "a lot of material" written for a possible follow-up to 2016's "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct" album, which marked METALLICA's first full-length collection of new music in eight years. "I know I have tons, because I totally overcompensated," he said. "You know, last time around, it was a real shock to my system losing all those musical ideas. [Editor's note: Kirk lost a phone with more than 300 pieces of music on it during the creative process for 'Hardwired…'] So, I was very determined to try and make up for lost time. I also felt that, creatively, I have so much more to offer this time around."

Bassist Robert Trujillo added that the songwriting process for the next album could be a decidedly more collective effort compared to "Hardwired…", which was largely composed by guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich.

"I'm not gonna speak on behalf of the other guys, but to me, it feels like this could be a very collaborative [writing process]," Robert said. "And for me personally, I love that. I love that we are in that head space to be more collaborative, and I think that's very exciting for where we're at now, the journey we're about to take, the fact that those doors are opening like that."

"It's taking a couple of months, literally, for me to go through all [my ideas]," added Kirk, who is is not credited on any of the songs on "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct". "I've got a wealth of material, and so, at any given point when we all decide, 'Okay, let's start formulating a schedule to start writing songs and recording it.' I'm ready. I'm there, from day one."

"Kirk has so many ideas," continued Trujillo. "It's funny because sometimes it's literally him in the kitchen and he's cooking, and at the same time he's playing you a riff, or you're sitting on the toilet and he's playing you some ideas. But when we started to understand that [the lockdown] was gonna happen, it was like, 'Hey, let's be creative', you know? Let's just get on it. A lot of times, when there's a band that's been around as long as METALLICA has, you find that one of the biggest problems is, 'Man I can't come up with a riff, I can't come up with any good lyrics, it's just harder to write songs', but that just doesn't seem to be the problem with us. Not taking anything away from any other bands, but sometimes our worst riff might be another band's A-list riff."

"Hardwired… To Self-Destruct" debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 291,000 copies in its first week of release.

Hetfield told Metal XS in 2016 that "Kirk's riffs weren't there" when it was time to write the music for the follow-up to 2008's "Death Magnetic" record. He later seemed to dismiss Kirk's missing-iPhone excuse, telling the WRIF radio station: "That's what he claims. I'm sure he did [lose the phone], but it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't have [the music] on his computer, either. But, whatever… Yeah, Kirk had some riffs that he… I guess submitted — ['submit' is] not a very nice word to be used if you're in a band. But you know, we all submit our tapes, and we sit there and we listen to them and we pick the best stuff. There was not much stuff from Kirk. Whether his phone was lost, or whatever…"

In a separate interview with U.K. radio station Planet Rock, Hetfield said that Kirk "was not present in the studio" while METALLICA was working on "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct". "He was dealing with life," James said. "He had a lot of life things going on for himself, which he'll choose to talk about if he wants. But, you know, [it was] Lars and I steering the ship as usual, going through the riffs, creating the songs. And I got to do a lot of guitar stuff that I was missing around 'Death Magnetic' and 'St. Anger' — some of the harmony guitar things, harmony vocals… You know, a little more layering, like the 'Black' album."

SKID ROW Guitarist On PANTERA Return: It's Not A 'Reunion'; It's A 'Celebration'

SKID ROW Guitarist On PANTERA Return: It's Not A 'Reunion'; It's A 'Celebration'

SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo has weighed in on the news that PANTERA's surviving members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) will unite with guitarist Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and drummer Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX) for a world tour under the PANTERA banner.

Anselmo and Brown, along with Wylde and Benante, will headline a number of major festivals across North America and Europe and stage some of their own headline concerts.

According to Billboard, the lineup has been given a green light by the estates of the band's founders, drummer Vincent "Vinnie Paul" Abbott and guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, as well as Brown, who last year said Wylde wouldn't tour with PANTERA if a reunion were to happen. It's unclear what changed his mind.

Sabo, who manages Anselmo's DOWN project as part of the successful management company McGhee Entertainment (KISS, TED NUGENT) headed up by Doc McGhee, discussed his views on the PANTERA comeback in a new interview with the "Talk Toomey" podcast. Asked why there hasn't been an official announcement yet about Anselmo and Brown touring again under the PANTERA name, Snake said: "Oh, there will be." He then laughed before adding: "I'm really not at liberty to really talk about anything right now. I'm just excited at the thought of this happening.

"I will say this: in no way is it a reunion at all, obviously," he continued. "This is a celebration of the legacy of a band that changed music, heavy music. And that's how I believe everybody is treating it. And for me as a fan, I can't wait to witness it, because those songs are amazing, as was the band. So to be able to go out and turn new people on to the machine that was PANTERA, the music that they created, and to celebrate the legacy of the band and to celebrate the lives of Vinnie and Dime, I think everything is right with that. And to be do it in a way — which I know they will — to do it in a way that is nothing but deeply respectful… And I think it's something, too, that gives people a reminder just how influential they were as a band and how influential both Dime and Vinnie were as musicians and songwriters.

"There's a lot to digest here, I guess," Snake acknowledged. "But really, the thing is that… It's really simple. It is a celebration of PANTERA's music and PANTERA's history with really great musicians."

Last month, Benante told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" about how he plans to approach the PANTERA gig: "I can't go do this as the drummer from ANTHRAX because it would be a different sound completely. So the way I'm gonna do that is if you close your eyes, it's gonna sound like it's Vinnie, basically. And that's how it's gonna be. The sound is gonna sound exactly like him."

Wylde said that he had a similar mindset. "You approach it the same way as you do when I'm playing with Ozzy," he said. "Obviously I've gotta learn [Randy] Rhoads's stuff and I've gotta learn Jake's [E. Lee] stuff, and when I was doing the [BLACK] SABBATH stuff, you learn it and do it as faithful as you can. Charlie's gotta learn all of Vinnie's parts. You approach it as if you're in a cover band. When we do the ZAKK SABBATH stuff," referring to his BLACK SABBATH cover band, "I don't start changing lyrics midway through 'War Pigs'. You learn the songs — so that's what you do."

A year ago, Anselmo said that he was up for reuniting with Brown for a special tour celebrating the music of PANTERA. The 54-year-old singer, who has spent the past few years playing a PANTERA-centric set with his solo band, THE ILLEGALS, discussed the possibility of re-teaming with his former PANTERA bandmate during an interview with Brazil's Inside With Paulo Baron. Asked if he and Rex would be open to playing some shows in celebration of PANTERA's legacy, Anselmo said: "If Rex and I had a show to play, or we were ever gonna be on stage again together, I would welcome it with open arms. I love Rex. And he'd be the same way. We're brothers forever. So playing on stage together, or doing some shows together, is not out of the question. It could happen."

In April 2021, Rex told Eonmusic that he and Philip still get offers for a PANTERA tribute tour. "But if you don't have the other guys in the band, it's not going to sound the same," he said. "If we were ever to do something like that, it would have to be spot-on, or I wouldn't do it. It would be a tribute."

Talk about a possible PANTERA "reunion" intensified when Anselmo regularly joined Wylde's BLACK LABEL SOCIETY to perform PANTERA's song "I'm Broken" during DOWN's 2014 stint on the "Revolver Golden Gods Tour". That buzz only got stronger after Brown joined the jam on May 23, 2014 when the tour swung through Texas.

Up until his passing, Vinnie remained on non-speaking terms with Anselmo, whom the drummer indirectly blamed for Dimebag's death.

Vinnie Paul and Dimebag co-founded PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, they formed DAMAGEPLAN. On December 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by a troubled schizophrenic who believed that the members of PANTERA were stealing his thoughts.

PANTERA is managed by Scott McGhee of 1 Degree Music Entertainment. The band's legal representative is Nick Ferrara And Associates. PANTERA is booked internationally by Rod MacSween at ITB.

JUDAS PRIEST's RICHIE FAULKNER On His Upcoming Solo Album: 'It's Heavy, But It's Not As 'Metal''

JUDAS PRIEST's RICHIE FAULKNER On His Upcoming Solo Album: 'It's Heavy, But It's Not As 'Metal''

JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner spoke to Guitar World magazine about the status of his previously announced solo project. He said: "I'd like to do it more as a band thing. I wouldn't want it to be called RICHIE FAULKNER'S RAINBOW. I worked on a project with a few people during the pandemic and we're in talks at the moment with labels. I don't want to give too much away, but when the pandemic hit I thought maybe it's time to get a batch of songs and get them into shape and put them out.”

Asked if it will be a metal album, Richie said: "It's always hard to talk about your stuff without crawling up your own ass. I think it's heavy, but it's not as 'metal.' It's a bit more bluesy. You can hear that it's coming from a guitarist in PRIEST, but it's enough of a departure to sound like something outside of the band. There's some [Jimi] Hendrix references in there and stuff that's a bit more groove-oriented."

Faulkner previously talked about his solo project in February during an appearance on the "In The Trenches With Ryan Roxie" video podcast. He explained at the time: "I haven't really spoken much about it publicly, but there is something I've kind of been [putting] together during the COVID period. I mean, I know we're still going through it but there's been a lot of downtime. So I've used that time to kind of get some songs I've been working on, get them together, polish them up, get some people together that I respect in the music business and record some stuff. And I haven't spoken a lot about it. It's in the process of being finalized, and we're looking for deals and stuff. We're looking for deals at the moment, we're looking for record labels, so I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself."

Asked if the album will feature guest musicians or it will be presented as a complete solo effort, Richie said: "Well, I've always been into the band. It's never been like RICHIE FAULKNER'S RAINBOW or anything like that. I've always been into the band — with the band name and the four or five guys or girls in it rather than a solo project. But also, when I joined PRIEST, I didn't wanna sort of get the gig and then, straight away, 'Oh, now listen to my solo thing.' PRIEST, they welcomed me in, they gave me a voice, they gave me an opinion, and I felt like this was my band. They've made me a part of it and I gave back a thousand percent. So I didn't wanna sort of then do my own thing and abuse that opportunity, if you know what I mean. But 10 or 11 years in, I feel that fans know that I'm not gonna abuse that opportunity. I've given 10, 11, almost 12 years [to PRIEST] now, so I felt, with the pandemic as well, with a bit of downtime, maybe put some stuff into that."

As for the musical direction of his solo album, Faulkner said: "As far as stylistically, it's always hard to tell, really. You just do what you do. You can hear where the roots are, from PRIEST, but I think it's different enough to be its own monster. And then hopefully someone else interprets it in their own way and hears something completely different to what I hear, hopefully."

Faulkner joined PRIEST in 2011 as the replacement for original guitarist K.K. Downing.

Richie was once the guitarist in the backing group for Lauren Harris, daughter of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris.

Faulkner and his girlfriend Mariah Lynch, daughter of former DOKKEN guitarist George Lynch, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Daisy Mae, in July 2020.

Last September, Faulkner suffered an acute cardiac aortic dissection during PRIEST's performance at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky. Faulkner was rushed to the UofL Health - Jewish Hospital where the cardiothoracic surgery team needed approximately 10 hours to complete a life-saving surgery.

ACCEPT's WOLF HOFFMANN Says He Was Dragging His Feet During Pandemic: 'It's Been Such A Weird Time'

ACCEPT's WOLF HOFFMANN Says He Was Dragging His Feet During Pandemic: 'It's Been Such A Weird Time'

In a new interview with Robert Cavuoto of Sonic Perspectives, ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann was asked if he and his bandmates will enter the studio after their upcoming U.S. tour to begin work on a new album. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Well, the studio is basically my house, or the band house, in Nashville. But, yeah, I will go there and definitely start working seriously on songs. We're not quite ready to record because, quite honestly, we don't have finished songs yet. I've got a collection of stuff that I started to put together but it's at the very beginning stages. But, yeah, we wanna put out a new album as soon as we can, sure."

He continued: "I've also been dragging my feet quite a bit because it's been such a weird time with corona. You would think I had all this free time so I have dozens and dozens of songs ready to go, but the truth is I don't. I was sitting here basically like you sit at the airport. You get there, you wait for your flight, and 10 minutes before it's ready to take off, they tell you, 'Oh, there's an hour delay.' And you think, like, 'Okay. An hour, that's not so bad. There's not much time to do much anyhow, so let me just sit here and wait.' And then, when that hour is over, they tell you, 'Oh, by the way, it's gonna be another two hours.' Had you known all this upfront, you would have probably done something useful. But it was almost like 'hurry up and wait.' And that's how it felt, to me, with corona. And I thought, 'Well, in a couple of months the tour is gonna go on anyhow. So I'm not quite ready to work on new songs quite yet.' But had I known it was gonna be a long two-year break, I might have gotten my act together and jumped into it. And we had just done an album during corona, so we were arranging to tour with it and not start working on new songs already. Because I felt like, 'Hey, I just made a record. Give me a break, people. I wanna tour this album first. I don't really wanna work on another album.' And also I don't know that the world was ready for yet another album. I mean, come on."

As previously reported, ACCEPT will embark on a North American tour in the fall. The trek, featuring support from NARCOTIC WASTELAND, will kick off on September 29 in Nashville, Tennessee and conclude on October 29 in Columbus, Ohio. Fans can expect a career-spanning setlist of new and classic tracks, including mega-hits "Balls To The Wall", "Princess Of The Dawn", "Fast As A Shark" and many more.

This past February, it was announced that ACCEPT had inked a worldwide deal with Napalm Records.

ACCEPT's latest album, "Too Mean To Die", came out in January 2021 via Nuclear Blast. The LP was the group's first without bassist Peter Baltes, who exited ACCEPT in November 2018. He has since been replaced by Martin Motnik. ACCEPT's lineup has also been expanded with the addition of a third guitarist, Philip Shouse, who originally filled in for Uwe Lulis during 2019's "Symphonic Terror" tour, before being asked to join the band permanently.

"Too Mean To Die" was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with British producer Andy Sneap (JUDAS PRIEST, MEGADETH),who has been responsible for the studio sound of ACCEPT since 2010.

Mark Tornillo joined ACCEPT in 2009 as the replacement for the band's original lead singer, Udo Dirkscheider. He can be heard on ACCEPT's last five studio albums, "Blood Of The Nations" (2010),"Stalingrad" (2012),"Blind Rage" (2014),"The Rise Of Chaos" (2017) and "Too Mean To Die".

OZZY OSBOURNE Confirms He Tried To Get JIMMY PAGE To Guest On 'Patient Number 9' Album

OZZY OSBOURNE Confirms He Tried To Get JIMMY PAGE To Guest On 'Patient Number 9' Album

Ozzy Osbourne has confirmed that he unsuccessfully tried to get Jimmy Page to appear on his new album "Patient Number 9".

Due on September 9, "Patient Number 9" features guest appearances by several other legendary guitarists, including Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.

Speaking to Metal Hammer magazine, the BLACK SABBATH frontman said that the LED ZEPPELIN legend never got back to him when approached to record a guest solo for the record.

"I don't even know if he plays any more, but I thought getting Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page meant having the greatest guitarists on the planet," Ozzy said. "But I never heard from him. Maybe he'd lost his phone or something."

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith, who plays on "Patient Number 9", previously talked about Page's non-appearance on the LP this past April during an appearance on the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast. At the time, he said: "We tried to get Jimmy Page — we tried to get the holy trinity — but I don't think Page plays anymore too much, unfortunately." (Clapton, Beck and Page are all former members of THE YARDBIRDS).

Ozzy's new album features a number of other big names, including METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan, BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi, Zakk Wylde, Josh Homme of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and Mike McCready of PEARL JAM.

Back in December 2020, Page told Total Guitar magazine that he had been using the coronavirius downtime to reconnect with his instrument.

"Under the circumstances of having a lockdown and isolating, I picked up the guitar and made a point of playing the guitar every day," he said. "Whereas before the lockdown, it had gotten to the point where I was always complaining that I didn't have enough time to play the guitar because there was all this other stuff that was going on.

"It's surprising how many things there are, even with LED ZEPPELIN, so I was not finding enough time to play the guitar as much as I would like," he explained. "It was there, but not being played. I thought, that's not going to be the case. I'm now going to play it. I don't want to make it sound like I'd locked the guitars away. That wasn't the case. But there were so many things that kept getting in the way of playing — or playing the way that you need to if you're exploring the instrument still."

When the interviewer pointed out to Page that a lot of people would love to see him play again, the guitarist responded: "That was the idea before we locked down. But — but — there'll be a time when we'll be able to play, so the thing to do is to think how you'd do it if you did do it, and have some surprises up your sleeve, you know?

"I did think about it," he confirmed. "But I thought, I better do some serious practicing first [laughs], because it's been a long time since [LED ZEPPELIN's concert at] the O2. I hope we'll meet up one day, when I'm doing this mythical show one day."

ROBERT PLANT Says Performing With LED ZEPPELIN Wouldn't 'Satisfy' His 'Need To Be Stimulated'

ROBERT PLANT Says Performing With LED ZEPPELIN Wouldn't 'Satisfy' His 'Need To Be Stimulated'

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, LED ZEPPELIN legend Robert Plant spoke about how his voice has changed over time. He said: "I know that the full, open-throated falsetto that I was able to concoct in 1968 carried me through until I was tired of it. Then that sort of exaggerated personality of vocal performance morphed and went somewhere else. But as a matter of fact, I was playing in Reykjavík, in Iceland, about three years ago, just before COVID. It was Midsummer Night and there was a festival, and I got my band and I said, 'OK, let's do 'Immigrant Song'.' They'd never done it before. We just hit it, and bang — there it was. I thought, 'Oh, I didn't think I could still do that.'"

When Los Angeles Times writer Mikael Wood told Robert plenty of fans would love to hear him do it with LED ZEPPELIN, Plant said: "Going back to the font to get some kind of massive applause — it doesn't really satisfy my need to be stimulated."

Asked if that makes him feel like an outlier among his classic-rock peers, Robert said: "I know there are people from my generation who don't want to stay home and so they go out and play. If they're enjoying it and doing what they need to do to pass the days, then that's their business, really."

Despite promoter-led attempts to get LED ZEPPELIN to reform for a series of concerts, Plant has remained committed to his new musical direction in the roots and blues-based "Americana" field.

LED ZEPPELIN's December 10, 2007 performance during the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert was chronicled on the band's 2012 "Celebration Day" CD and DVD. The set, which featured Jason Bonham subbing for his late father on drums, marked Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones's first full-scale show together since John Bonham's 1980 death.

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Plant said LED ZEPPELIN's 2007 concert was "magnificent. We hit a home run that night, which is something that we were really fearful of," he said. "There was probably more riding on that than we would care to believe.

"Our performance was crucial, but we could reproduce sound in a much more reliable way, so we could be kickass, and sound kickass," he added. "Some of those horrific gigs way back were lacking in quality."

The film of "Celebration Day" saw a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories in October 2012.

LED ZEPPELIN met with the press in September 2012 in London to launch "Celebration Day". Page told the press that he was thrilled with Jason Bonham's performance filling in for John Bonham, saying, "Jason was absolutely monumental. From the very first rehearsal right through to the O2." Plant added: "It was appropriate and it was wonderful and also his vigor was so fantastic too. He drove us, y'know? It was peculiar and strange at times, but at the same time it was very rewarding for all of us."

When asked why it took five years for the 2007 reunion concert to see the light of day, Jones joked: "Five years is like five minutes in ZEPPELIN time."

ADEMA Singer RYAN SHUCK Blasts Original Frontman MARKY CHAVEZ: He 'Hasn't Respected The Fans And The Band'

ADEMA Singer RYAN SHUCK Blasts Original Frontman MARKY CHAVEZ: He 'Hasn't Respected The Fans And The Band'

During an appearance on the latest episode of the "J-Bunny's Music Hub Podcast", ADEMA's latest singer Ryan Shuck, who joined the group in 2019, was asked if he thinks there is a chance the band will at some point work with original ADEMA frontman Marky Chavez again. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Oh, no, no, no. There's not a chance. No, no, no. I own this. There's no option for that. No, not at all. I tried to put it together with Marky. That's how I ended up accidentally offering, or accepting, their kind of plea for some, 'Hey, will you come in and sing for us for a tour?' And it just turned out so well that I kept doing it.

"No, there's no chance [of Chavez returning to the band]," Ryan repeated. " Unfortunately, Marky's jumped in, told them that he's gonna do it and then he's jumped out and pulled the plug on too many big tours, on too many good things, and it's damped the band so badly.

"Marky's really not been a great person and hasn't really respected the art and the fans and the band, and obviously isn't doing it anymore at all — you know, just doesn't seem to care.

"These guys will go play," he continued. "If they get a tour offer, the guys will do it — they'll do it at the drop of a dime. And you have a situation with Marky where he continually pulls the carpet out from under the band. And all they've wanted is for a singer to have his shit together. I happen to be that guy. The multiple singers they've had have not had their shit together — they haven't had the experience that I've had and they haven't had the vision or the management or the things that I bring to the table.

"I think that the performance of the two singles [ADEMA has released so far with Shuck on vocals] are evidence, proof that [producer] Amir [Derakh] and I know what the fuck we're doing. They're performing better than any of the singles they've released on major labels with any of the past singers, and they're performing on par with the original ADEMA stuff. I have all the numbers because I am the record label. And it's doing really, really well. So, for me, that was sort of the indicator of whether I should keep doing it or not.

"But no, I don't think there's a chance in hell these guys would ever do anything with Marky again," Ryan reiterated. "Most of the fans, I think, get it. The fans that don't get it, unfortunately, you're missing someone that doesn't like you. You're missing someone that does not care about whether or not you supported him."

Chavez originally left ADEMA in 2004 due to "creative differences" after two successful albums, "Adema" and "Unstable". The singer — who is the half brother of KORN frontman Jonathan Davis — quit ADEMA again in January 2011 in order to pursue his "solo project." He rejoined the group again six years later and played his first comeback show with ADEMA in May 2017 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.

After Chavez's original exit from ADEMA, the other members of the band found their way with new lead singers Luke Caraccioli and later Bobby Reeves, while Mark founded MIDNIGHT PANIC with his cousin Peter Shubert. He also produced fellow artists.

ADEMA's last full-length release was 2013's "Topple The Giants". The group's first CD since 2007's "Kill The Headlights" contained brand new tracks plus re-worked versions of ADEMA's chart-topping hits "Giving In" and "Unstable".

This past June, ADEMA released a new song, "Violent Principles". It was the follow-up to ADEMA's first single in nearly a decade, "Ready To Die", which came out in August 2021. Both tracks are taken from ADEMA's upcoming album, "360 Degrees Of Separation".

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO On PANTERA 'Reunion': 'I'll Be The First One In Line For A Ticket'

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO On PANTERA 'Reunion': 'I'll Be The First One In Line For A Ticket'

ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello has once again weighed in on the news that PANTERA's surviving members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) will unite with guitarist Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and drummer Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX) for a world tour under the PANTERA banner.

Bello discussed his views on the PANTERA comeback in a new interview with the "Talk Louder" podcast, hosted by veteran music journalist "Metal Dave" Glessner and lifelong hard rock/metal vocalist Jason McMaster (DANGEROUS TOYS). Asked what he thinks about Anselmo and Brown touring again under the PANTERA name, Bello said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Look, we've done a lot of touring with PANTERA in our day. We were family. You have to understand, ANTHRAX and PANTERA, we were very much a family. Dime played on a few of our records. We were very, very close to these guys, so Charlie also had a really close relationship with Dime — andVinnie. And we all did — we all did."

Frank, who is Benante's nephew as well as his bandmate, continued: "They got the right guy. If there's one guy to play drums, who'll play them the right way, the way it should be — and I think Vinnie would say this too; rest his soul… We were very, very close with these guys. This will be like another family member joining them and paying tribute to these guys.

"For me, as a PANTERA fan, yes, I'm stoked on it. I think Zakk's awesome. We talk about it every day. We're close with Zakk. We've known him for years. So this is a great time.

"I think it's a celebration of PANTERA," Bello added. "I'll be the first one in line for a ticket. I'll be loving this. I think it's a great tribute. Also, for the people who haven't seen PANTERA, these guys will do the right job of representing PANTERA, I think. If it was to be done, this is the right way, in my opinion. I'd wanna see this just because, man, it's gonna be done right and respectful and it's gonna be awesome. And just a little selfishly, I've been jamming with Charlie Benante for all my life; he's a relative of mine. It's great that a bigger group of people are gonna see how great he truly is as a drummer. I think people are gonna see that and [witness] something that we've known for a long time. It's gonna be a great thing. It's a tribute. I'm looking forward to it. I'm a PANTERA fan."

After McMaster noted that the PANTERA shows will be "emotional", Bello said: "Totally. And it should be. That's part of the tribute, right? Because we all miss them, and now maybe we can feel them again a little bit. That's the way I look at it, man. These riffs from Dime and [drumming from] Vinnie, you just feel it. It's really a feeling inside. They went way beyond music, those guys. You've gotta think about that. They went way beyond music. They touched you, in my opinion — they touched people inside. And that music is a celebration of it. So, yeah, I look forward to all these people, not only us fans that have seen them and hung out with PANTERA but the people who haven't had a chance to see it. I think it's gonna be a great representation of a tribute. I think it's gonna be beautiful."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Singer On TOMMY LEE's Nude Photo: 'Nobody's That Well Hung'

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Singer On TOMMY LEE's Nude Photo: 'Nobody's That Well Hung'

In a new interview with iHeartRadio Canada, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody was asked if he texted Tommy Lee after the MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer posted a nude photo on social media last week. Ivan responded: "No, I didn't, because in this day and age you kind of expect it from Tommy, as sad as that may or not be able to say. But the reality of it is it looks like the guy just got done rubbing one out. Nobody's that well hung. So good for you, Tommy."

After Lee shared the full-frontal selfie on July 11, with the caption "Ooooopppsss", Instagram and Facebook took it down within hours for violating nudity rules.

However, the graphic image, which showed the heavily tattooed musician naked while sitting on the edge of a tub, was up for at least four hours, which was described by one Twitter user as "an insane amount of time." This has led to an outcry against social media companies for applying what critics say is a double standard in platform guidelines that favor cisgender men.

According to CNN, one user commented that Lee's penis picture "was on Instagram for 5+ hours before being pulled yet queer artists get banned all the time for art that doesn't even show genitalia."

"Girls can't post photos with cleavage on Instagram without it being taken down but Tommy Lee can post THAT. nah," another wrote.

Another person said: "@instagram literally has the clearest double standard among their community guidelines."

Many of the 59-year-old drummer's 1.5 million Instagram followers called Lee out for sharing the image in the comments of the controversial post.

"Instagram guidelines said idgaf today," one user wrote.

"So we just gon pretend nothing happened huh," added a second user.

"following tommy lee on instagram is interesting enough but i- sigh. that was traumatizing. how is it still up," wrote a Twitter user who posted a meme of a person washing their eyes out with bleach.

"So Tommy Lee can post a picture of his penis on @instagram that's still up three hours later but a picture of my curvy booty in a thong bikini gets taken down? Cool, cool," tweeted journalist Lola Méndez. She also compared seeing Tommy's picture on social media to getting an unsolicited picture of a penis.

Before the photo was removed, Lee's wife, Brittany Furlan, commented on the picture with "OH MY GOD," and the dating app Grindr responded with, "Wrong app, babe".

Instagram explicitly states that it does not allow nude photos.

"This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks," it says on its web site. "It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos in the context of breastfeeding, birth giving and after-birth moments, health-related situations or an act of protest are allowed."

MÖTLEY CRÜE Fan Rushed To Hospital After Apparently Falling From Upper Level At Indianapolis Concert

MÖTLEY CRÜE Fan Rushed To Hospital After Apparently Falling From Upper Level At Indianapolis Concert

According to TMZ, a MÖTLEY CRÜE fan apparently fell from the upper level of the band's concert in Indianapolis Tuesday night (August 16).

TMZ has obtained video of people at the show gathered around the man and tending to him as the legendary '80s rock band was belting out its classic song "Looks That Kill". A witness told the site there was a puddle of blood around the victim. Police and paramedics arrived quickly, placed the man on a gurney and wheeled him out of the stadium.

A witness who attended the concert, Steven Neeley, told 13News: "We seen a figure, at first we didn't think it was a person, we thought it, you know, they had been tossing volleyballs and different stuff around the crowd. But when you heard the thud twice, then we knew it was a person. You could hear the audible gasps over the music playing."

"Everyone was just kind of standing around looking, trying to figure out what to do, who to talk to, who to get to come over to the landing and check the person out," added another witness, Krista Neeley. "We didn't know if they were breathing or not breathing or what was going on."

Another woman who witnessed the incident told Fox 59 someone fell on top of her boyfriend while he was standing on the landing outside of the seats.

"I got him back in our aisle, and that is when I saw the man who was on the ground next to where my [boyfriend] was standing," the woman said. According to the woman, the man who fell was unconscious, and blood immediately started pooling out from under him.

"The time it took to get medics there to help was ridiculous," she said. "People around were trying to help, but there was just blood everywhere. Time is of the essence when it comes to injuries like this, especially due to blood loss."

A spokesperson for the Indianapolis Police Department told TMZ that they assisted an injured person, who was "awake and breathing." Cops confirmed they were investigating whether the man was extremely intoxicated, leaned over the railing and fell from the upper level to the lower level. His condition is currently unknown.

MÖTLEY CRÜE was performing at Lucas Oil Stadium as part of "The Stadium Tour" with co-headliners DEF LEPPARD and support from POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS.

According to TMZ, CRÜE kicked off its show at around 9:30 p.m. and the incident took place about 45 minutes into the band's set.

LAMB OF GOD's JOHN CAMPBELL Says 'It Was A Great Experience' Recording 'Omens' Album Live In The Same Room

LAMB OF GOD's JOHN CAMPBELL Says 'It Was A Great Experience' Recording 'Omens' Album Live In The Same Room

Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD will release their new album, "Omens", on October 7 via Epic Records. The band tracked the effort with longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH) live in the room together at Henson Recording Studios (formerly A&M Studios) in Los Angeles, California, a location that birthed classics from THE DOORS, PINK FLOYD, RAMONES and SOUNDGARDEN, among others.

Speaking to Knotfest, LAMB OF GOD bassist John Campbell stated about the making of "Omens" (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "We recorded this record differently. We recorded it live all together in the same room and then we went back and cleaned stuff up. But it was the first time we were all in the same room… We recorded it all in the same room as opposed to before where we would all go kind of in our corners and record our bits and then maybe assemble it later. There's a very real feeling to it. And we were able to make some changes on the fly — stuff that we didn't think worked right — and it was a great experience."

Asked what led to the decision to record "Omens" that way, John said: "Well, we've been doing this so fucking long, we had to do something different. I believe that was Josh Wilbur's idea to do that. I know he had a great place worked out to do that in. And we had just kind of been doing it the same way over and over and over again, and we were looking to get a little more excitement into it and maybe see if that couldn't produce a different feel on the record."

The "Omens" album pre-order is live at Lamb-Of-God.com, boasting several exclusive items, including a signed colored vinyl variant, shirt, hoodie, and signed CDs with an alternate color cover. All physical CD and vinyl releases will include a free access code to watch the livestream viewing of "The Making Of Omens" documentary, which will premiere the week of album release.

LAMB OF GOD will support the new album with a massive Live Nation-produced U.S. headlining tour featuring special guests KILLSWITCH ENGAGE on all dates. Different legs will also see support from BARONESS, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, SPIRITBOX, ANIMALS AS LEADERS as well as SUICIDE SILENCE and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY. The tour kicks off September 9 in Brooklyn and runs through October 20.

"Omens" will be the follow-up to LAMB OF GOD's self-titled album, which was released in June 2020 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. That LP marked LAMB OF GOD's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined the band in July 2019 as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.

"Lamb Of God" was recorded with Wilbur and included special guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT).

STEVE GRIMMETT Hadn't Been Ill Before His Death: 'To Say This Was A Shock Is An Understatement', Says His Wife

STEVE GRIMMETT Hadn't Been Ill Before His Death: 'To Say This Was A Shock Is An Understatement', Says His Wife

Steve Grimmett's wife says that the GRIM REAPER singer wasn't ill prior to his tragic passing this past Monday (August 15). The 62-year-old's death came five years after he had his right leg partially amputated when an infected wound on his foot spread to the bones in his leg partway through his South American tour.

On Tuesday (August 16),Millie Grimmett shared the following message via social media: "Thank you for the thousands of messages of condolences since the passing of my beloved Steve. I'm gradually reading a few at a time but I will get round them all eventually.

"Steve had 2 passions, aeroplanes & being on stage, & it's his fans that made being on stage possible. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for buying tickets, queuing for hours to meet him after a gig (which he was honoured that you all did) & buying his albums. After every gig he would call me to tell me how amazing the crowd were & about the people he met.

"Over the weekend we were talking about our plans for the future. The tours he had coming up this year & next, the album he had half written, which had guest musicians on, the planes he was working on & looking forward to flying & the places we were looking forward to exploring together. Life was amazing. Steve was in the best place, mentally, that he's been since loosing his leg. My heart couldn't have loved him more.

"I found Steve forever asleep at home on Monday 15th August. He hadn't been ill so to say this was a shock is an understatement. His official cause of death has not yet been released by the coroners.

"My heart will forever be broken & my life now incomplete. I long for the day that we are together again. Steve sung a lot about hell but I know he is in heaven waiting for me and watching over his family.

"Please help me keep his music & memory alive by playing everything he ever wrote, sung, produced & did guests slots on. If you don't own it all, buy it, download it. Please keep his 40+ years on this mad industry going. There's plenty of YouTube footage too & we all loved the Beavis & Butthead videos but none more than Steve.

"Steve was known as the Metal Warrior, to me he was My Steve.

"Thank you again. Blessings & prayers. Millie".

Grimmett's life-saving surgery in 2017 was carried out in Ecuador and the frontman was in hospital for just over a month while fans raised $14,000 to bring him home after his insurance company refused to pay because of the type of work he was doing.

GRIM REAPER's story began in 1979 after successfully fighting off hundreds of bands in a local Battle Of The Bands competition. This win, combined with an already sizeable following, aroused the interest of Ebony Records. Signing with the small U.K. label, GRIM REAPER released three albums in rapid succession to international acclaim. Due to legal turmoil with Ebony, GRIM REAPER would disband in 1988. Grimmett would go on to record with ONSLAUGHT, LIONSHEART and more recently THE SANITY DAYS. His renowed vocal range remains one of metal's most identifiable with loyal fans turning out in numbers to hear him perform.

GRIM REAPER was part of the "Hell On Wheels" tour which crossed the States in 1987, alongside ARMORED SAINT and HELLOWEEN.

Grimmett reformed GRIM REAPER in 2006 as STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER following an amicable decision between the singer and original GRIM REAPER guitarist Nick Bowcott, who both agreed that using the original name minus the other members of the classic lineup wouldn't be a proper reunion.

STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER released two studio albums, 2016's "Walking In The Shadows" and 2019's "At The Gates".

Since 2006, STEVE GRIMMETT'S GRIM REAPER had made a number of European festival appearances and toured all around the world.

Earlier this year, Steve told VWMusic that he had "no regrets whatsoever" about how his career panned out. "I should by rights be a millionaire, but I haven't got a penny to my name," he revealed. "I'm on welfare at the moment because of COVID, and a lot of people do think that I am a millionaire, but I can tell you now, I'm not. I've never received a penny — not one penny — from GRIM REAPER, so that says it all, doesn't it? But still, no regrets. I still love getting up there and playing. I still love watching the smiling faces in front of me. That says it all and does it all for me."

Watch: EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Joins KORN On Stage In Denver To Perform 'Freak On A Leash'

Watch: EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Joins KORN On Stage In Denver To Perform 'Freak On A Leash'

EVANESCENCE frontwoman Amy Lee joined KORN on stage last night (Tuesday, August 16) at the opening concert of the two bands' joint U.S. tour at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado to perform the latter group's song "Freak On A Leash". Fan-filmed video of her appearance can be seen below.

Lee previously performed "Freak On A Leash" with KORN at the band's "MTV Unplugged" taping more than a decade and a half ago.

KORN and EVANESCENCE's 18-city tour will make stops across the U.S. in Boston, Chicago, Houston and more before wrapping up in Ridgefield, Washington on September 16.

When the trek was first announced in April, Lee said in a statement: "I fell hard into KORN's music in high school. It was an inspiration during the formation of my own band. The chances we've had to play together over the years are special, a part of our history. They remain one of the best live bands I've ever seen. It's an honor and a thrill to go out with our friends again, our first full tour together since '07. We're all really looking forward to this."

KORN is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Requiem", which was released on February 4 via Loma Vista Recordings. The band celebrated the LP's arrival with a special record-release event on February 3 at the Hollywood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles, California. "Requiem Mass" saw the Southern California heavy music pioneers perform an intimate set in front of a 300 attendees.

"Requiem", which was produced by Chris Collier and KORN, entered Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart at No. 1. The band sold 23,000 equivalent album units in the February 4-10 tracking week, according to Billboard. Of that sum, 20,000 units were from album sales. "Requiem" also landed at No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. On the all-format Billboard 200, it arrived at No. 14.

EVANESCENCE's new lineup — featuring Emma Anzai of SICK PUPPIES on bass and EVANESCENCE's longtime bassist Tim McCord on guitar — made its live debut on June 5 in Athens, Greece.

EVANESCENCE's latest lineup changes, including the departure of guitarist Jen Majura, were announced in May.

"It has been a very special chapter in the band with our dear friend Jen Majura, but we have decided it's time to go our separate ways," EVANESCENCE said in a statement. "We will always love her and support her, and can't wait to see what she does next! We are so grateful for the good times and great music we made all around the world together."

A month after her dismissal from EVANESCENCE, Majura said that she was still "hurt" by the move and compared the situation to a divorce. She also said that she initially thought it was "a bad joke" when she got a phone call informing her that her services were no longer needed.

Last year, EVANESCENCE released "The Bitter Truth", its first album in 10 years.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Shares Music Video For 'Times Like These'

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Shares Music Video For 'Times Like These'

The official music video for "Times Like These", a brand new song from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's ninth album, "AfterLife", which is out now.

The "Afterlife" title track, which was released as a single in April, recently gave FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH the most consecutive No. 1s on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The song was the band's 13th total No. 1 and eighth entry on the chart in a row.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory said: "'AfterLife' is my favorite FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH record to date and it was also the most fun to make. If the previous album 'F8' was dubbed as the 'rebirth' of the band, then this one is our 'transcendence' for sure.

"One of the most difficult achievements for a traditional 'drums-guitars-bass-vocals' rock band is to establish a recognizable signature sound," he continued. "The second most difficult thing is to keep evolving while holding on to that signature sound. I believe for us 'AfterLife' isn't just an evolution but possibly even a paradigm shift in our career, because this record is so vastly different from all the previous ones yet it still unmistakably sounds like us. Very proud of this one and can't wait to share it. Our fans are in for a few surprises."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's follow-up to 2020's "F8" was once again recorded at the Hideout Recording Studio, the Las Vegas, Nevada facility owned and operated by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who has worked on all of FIVE FINGER's albums beginning with the band's sophomore release, 2009's "War Is The Answer".

"AfterLife" will be FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's first album with its latest addition, renowned British virtuoso Andy James, who replaced Jason Hook in 2020. James was previously featured on "Broken World", a song that was included on the second installment of FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's greatest-hits collection, "A Decade Of Destruction – Volume 2", which came out in the fall of 2020.

"AfterLife" track listing:

01. Welcome To The Circus
02. AfterLife
03. Times Like These
04. Roll Dem Bones
05. Pick Up Behind You
06. Judgment Day
07. IOU
08. Thanks For Asking
09. Blood And Tar
10. All I Know
11. Gold Gutter
12. The End

Since FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's debut album, "The Way Of The Fist", came out in 2007, the band has released six consecutive albums that were certified gold or platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) as well as two chart-topping greatest-hits albums. In addition, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has earned numerous national and international awards and honors over the last decade, such as the prestigious Soldier Appreciation Award by the Association Of The United States Army, an honor bestowed upon only one other recording artist before them: Elvis Presley.

"F8" debuted at No. 1 on rock charts around the world, with Top 10 mainstream chart debuts in the USA, Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K. and more. It produced four No. 1 hit singles with "Inside Out", "A Little Bit Off", "Living The Dream" and "Darkness Settles In". The band has amassed over eight billion streams and three billion video views to date and has sold over one million tickets between 2018 and 2020 alone.

This past April, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH announced a 2022 U.S. headlining tour presented by Live Nation. Kicking off in Portland, Oregon on August 19, the trek will span over 30 dates, closing out on October 15 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The band will be joined on tour by rock icons MEGADETH, with additional support from THE HU and FIRE FROM THE GODS, promising an intense multi-faceted night of heavy rock music.

GLENN HUGHES Says He Had 'A Pretty Bad Case' Of COVID-19: 'There's No Way I Could Have Continued' Touring

GLENN HUGHES Says He Had 'A Pretty Bad Case' Of COVID-19: 'There's No Way I Could Have Continued' Touring

THE DEAD DAISIES frontman Glenn Hughes was forced to miss several shows on the band's summer 2022 European tour in late July and early August after testing positive for COVID-19. For the gigs, Dino Jelusick (WHITESNAKE) took over on lead vocals while Yogi Lonich played bass.

Speaking to Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station, Hughes stated about his battle with COVID-19 (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I was the last guy in the band to get it, so when I got it, I thought, 'Well, how many more are gonna get it?' I had a pretty bad case of it, so there's no way I could have continued. So I'm glad the guys had a chance to continue… [Jelusick and Lonich] did really well, and they came in under really no notice at all, and they did a remarkable job. I'm really for everyone that they could continue and fulfill the commitment."

He continued: "Look, it was an 11-week tour, and it's a long time for anybody — any age group — especially in this climate. As you know, a lot of bands are pulling out, canceling, people getting COVID everywhere; God bless them. But we were able to continue and fulfill our commitment.

"This thing is so viral, it's running rampant everywhere, especially in Europe," Hughes added. "It's horrifying. But we're kicking off this [U.S.] tour in a couple of weeks and we did a tour last year and we were all good. We're very safe with people. Yeah, we're gonna be okay."

THE DEAD DAISIES will release their sixth studio album, "Radiance", on September 30.

"Radiance" is the second album THE DAISIES have made with esteemed producer Ben Grosse at the helm, recorded at The Mix Room in North Hollywood, California.

The first singles off the album, "Radiance" and "Shine On", went straight to air on radio across the globe, were added to digital playlists and received with open arms by tens of thousands of fans and audiences on THE DEAD DAISIES's European tour.

All the songs on "Radiance" were written by guitarists David Lowy and Doug Aldrich and Hughes. Drummer Brian Tichy returned to THE DAISIES in early 2022 to lay down the drums on "Radiance".

"Radiance" will be available as a digipak CD with sticker, gatefold black vinyl with printed inner sleeves and digitally.

THE DEAD DAISIES' last album, "Holy Ground", was released in January 2021. Recorded at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France with Grosse, the LP was the band's first to feature Hughes, who joined the group in 2019 as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).
