WACKEN OPEN AIR Organizers Comment On MOTÖRHEAD's Abbreviated Performance, LEMMY's Health

The organizers of the Wacken Open Air festival have commented on MOTÖRHEAD's abbreviated performance at this year's event due to frontman Lemmy Kilmister's health.

The band played only six songs last night (Friday, August 2) before leaving the stage, effectively pulling the plug on what was supposed to be a 75-minute concert.

MOTÖRHEAD canceled a handful of shows on its European festival tour last month after Lemmy, suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel). The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.

In a statement issued earlier today, the Wacken organizers said: "MOTÖRHEAD rocked the Black Stage for more than 30 minutes and Lemmy gave everything he's got to play an amazing live show. He's keeping well — but the temperatures and circumstances led to the point that continuing the show would have lead to a loss of quality.

"We are very happy and proud that Phil [Campbell], Mikkey [Dee] and particularly Mr. Rock 'N' Roll himself, Lemmy Kilmister, played W:O:A 2013 and that they did everything humanly possible to play this gig. Thank you so much, guys!"

MOTÖRHEAD's new album, "Aftershock", will be released in the fall. The follow-up to 2010's "The Wörld Is Yours" was recorded at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California with longtime producer Cameron Webb.

Вообще, конечно, впечатляет, что Лемми, будучи уже одной ногой в могиле, все еще зажигает на концертах. Так пусть он это делает как можно дольше!
