MOTÖRHEAD's LEMMY: 'We Will Be Back' To 'Kick Everybody's Ass'

MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister says that it was a "tough decision" to cancel the remaining eight shows on the group's European festival tour due to his recent health struggles, but assures fans that he and his bandmates will be be back to "kick everybody's ass."

Lemmy suffered a haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel) last month, forcing the band to scrap a handful of dates. The news of Lemmy's latest medical issue followed reports that he was also recently fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems.

In an official statement, MOTÖRHEAD said: "MOTÖRHEAD deeply regret to disappoint all fans this summer. The band decided to cancel the summer shows. Doctors strongly advised that Lemmy needs to take his time to get his body back in balance. To achieve this, the doctor and Lemmy agreed that it would be best to take it easy for a while. While saying this, we can assure that the fall tour will be as explosive, loud and incredible as ever."

Added Lemmy: "I'd like to thank everyone who wish me well. It was a tough decision for me as I don't like to disappoint the fans, especially in times where economy is bad and people spent their money to see us. But sometimes you can't do anything else than following doctor's order, but be sure we will be back and kick everybody's ass."

Speaking to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee revealed that a little over a week ago Kilmister suffered a "nasty" fall and landed on his hip.

Following his fall, Lemmy had more bad luck when a fire alarm went off at the hotel Royal Kensington in London where he was staying.

"He had to walk eight stairs in the middle of the night," Mikkey said. "Lemmy's personal assistant said that that was fucked up and that he had an injured hip.

"He needs to have his body drained of fluid and that can't be done too quickly," he added. "When he remains in bed and can't move, he can easily get pnemonia…. If you can't move properly, other issues will follow."

"He is devastated beyond belief. It has a bigger effect on him than it would anyone else. It's like chopping off a piano player's hands. This is his life."

Asked if he is worried about his friend Lemmy, Dee said: "I am worried because he's not doing so well right now. But he's improving, even though it takes longer for him than anyone else to become well. Now that the doctors feel that he shouldn't go out an play you'll just have to accept that order."

In a separate einterview with GT.se, Dee stated about Lemmy's current health status: "Things are improving with Lemmy, but the doctors in Berlin are recommending that he rests for another couple of weeks. We can't keep canceling show after show, it's too costly. Therefore we unfortunately have to cancel the entire tour."

Dee had been looking forward to the band's headlining show at Metaltown in his hometown Gothenburg on Thursday, July 4.

"It's so fucking typical, but what are you going to do?" he said. "You have to put health before everything else."

Mikkey also spoke about what he intends to do during his unwanted time off. "I have to twiddle my thumbs," he said. "Maybe I'll go fishing more than usual."

на покое он быстрее развалится.
работа поддерживает жизнь, это не только по музыкантам проверено.
пока человек что-то крутится, делает, он вроде живой и даже относительно бодрый.
как сядет на лавочку "отдохнуть" - через год-другой на погост.
так что Лемми сделает все, что бы вернуться в строй.

Ну...про развалину это вообще мягко говоря не в тему, учитывая что Motorhead одна из самых гастролирующих групп в мире, поэтому отмена турне из 8 концертов( а не из 100) ни о чем не говорит

Блин!!! Проклятье!!!! (( ...и все таки отменили. Все летние концерты, походу отменили. Весь Киев, месяц ждал. Так готовились... Все на нервах - буквально дни считали. Каждый день "Stage Fright" пересматривали!! Многие, что бы два раза Лемми живьем увидеть, и на московский концерт билеты взяли...(((
Эх....
Ну, да ни чего, главное что бы старина Лемми в порядке был! Пусть поправляется... Ну, а мы подождем. А он, ещё даст жару!))
