ACCEPT: New Songtitles Revealed

Reformed German heavy metal legends ACCEPT recently finished recording their new album at Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England with acclaimed British producer and SABBAT guitarist Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE).

ACCEPT's as-yet-untitled effort — which will mark the recording debut of the band's new singer, Mark Tornillo (ex-TT QUICK) — will include around 12 songs and will be mixed at Backstage later this month. A mid-2010 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label is expected.

Eddie Trunk — co-host of the VH1 Classic television program "That Metal Show" who has a long-running radio show, "Friday Night Rocks", on New York's Q104.3 FM — recently heard some of the tracks that will appear on the forthcoming ACCEPT album and has posted the following report on his official web site:

"[I] had a visit to my house [at the end of December] by my old friend and new ACCEPT singer Mark Tornillo. Mark was nice enough to drop in and play for me early versions of songs from the new album the band is recording with producer Andy Sneap.

"This is the band's first studio album with Mark as singer and will be out [in] early [2010].

"Taking my friendship with Mark out of this review, I can honestly say what I heard was simply killer! I heard seven tracks and they all smoked. Those brutal Wolf Hoffmann riffs are in full force as is that killer tone and all the signature ACCEPT sounds and choruses.

"Mark is a perfect fit. He captures the classic ACCEPT sound with his vocals and screams, but also very much adds his own stamp to what I heard.

"There is nothing here for the fans of classic ACCEPT not to love, and plenty of new things Mark brings to the table that are unique to him.

"Fans of TT QUICK will know what Mark is about and how he really will do a great job as a member of this band.

"The songs I heard were not complete but still very solid. Titles included 'The Abyss', 'Locked & Loaded' (uptempo fast song), 'Shades Of Death' (epic, killer drums and vocals with classical touches), 'No Shelter' (another fast one), 'Blood Of Nations' (for the military), 'Pandemic' (classic ACCEPT!), 'Teutonic Terror' (possible title of the album).

"I am fully aware of how important [former ACCEPT singer] Udo [Dirkschneider] was to the sound of this band, but he did not want to be a part of this, so I am thrilled that ACCEPT are back and thrilled for Mark as well. He brings his style which meshes perfect with classic ACCEPT. The playing is top notch and the production even at this stage was crushing.

"I cannot wait for the completed album, and without question, the return of ACCEPT is something to look forward to for metal fans in 2010!"

Eat the Heat - отличный мелодик-хэви, просто это не совсем эксептовский альбом (по духу и звучанию). И Дэвид Рис замечательный вокалист, голос которого, в отличие от Удо, могут нормально воспринимать и люди, далекие от метала. Я буду в восторге, если новый альбом Accept окажется по уровню хитовости хотя бы на 50% таким, как Eat the Heat. И вообще мало ли, что пишут журналисты (пусть и авторитетные), многим из них присуща вкусовщина. Давайте еще вспомним, что Артемий Троицкий писал и говорил о хэви метал )))

Замечательная новость, да и вроде как Eat the Heat не пахнет. Слухал я них две вещи: кавер Balls to the Wall и новую песенку - вокалист неплох, мне показался похожим на Бона Скота чем-то.
