Introducing METALLICA's 'Blackened' American Whiskey

METALLICA has partnered with master distiller extraordinaire Dave Pickerell to create Blackened, a unique blend of straight American whiskey available in select U.S. cities later this week and online at ThinkLiquor.com or SpiritedGifts.com.

This collaboration is the perfect match. Legendary in the spirits community, Dave is a chemical engineer who has revolutionized the distilling processes with techniques like solera aging and triple-finishing. He experienced the power of soundwaves during his time as a student and then a professor of chemistry at West Point, home to the world's largest church organ. When the lowest note would reverberate through the halls, "the whole building would tremble, it would really shake your guts," Dave says. With that in mind, "Blackened" isn't just the name of a song on "…And Justice For All" and now on the bottle; it literally helps to shape the flavor! That's right, the blend of bourbons, ryes, and whiskeys from all across North America, carefully selected by Dave himself, is housed in black brandy barrels and inundated with low hertz sound waves so intense that it actually enhances the molecular interaction and ultimately the finish of the whiskey.

Says METALLICA: "We are fortunate to have a long-time collaboration with Meyer Sound, who have engineered a proprietary subwoofer that amplifies the low frequency sound waves and all the planets aligned. It just so happens that the low-frequency range needed for Dave's vision was the range you hear in our music and the process of sonic-enhancement we call 'Black Noise' was born. A patent-pending process, the playlists that we create helps to shape the flavor of the whiskey.

1. Виски - мужского рода.
2. Любой штатовский вискарь, кроме "Jack Daniel's" юридически является бурбоном, т.к. именно Джаспер Н. Дэниел запатентовал право называться виски за своим продуктом.
3. Да и по факту штатовкий самогон гонят в основном из кукурузы, а ирландцы и мужики в юбках используют рожь, ячмень, пшеницу.

rassol все четко сказал. И кстати Jack Daniel's фактически тоже бурбон, так как в основной состав большая часть идет кукурузы, но они типа вискарь.

slavan надеюсь ты говоришь не о Бакарди, просто это основной ром который у нас продают. Хороший ром - кубинский, доминиканский или ямайский у нас тяжело найти и он дорогой.

Доминиканский время от времени в ароматном мире беру, иногда попадается в пределах 2к/0.7. Но да, большинства рома у нас - это бакарди, который хрень та еще. Из тех ромов, что везде есть, Морган желтый достаточно неплохой.

Кстати, бурбона нормального тоже не сыщешь за нормальную цену. Джек Дэниэлс да Джим Бим. Я их люблю, конечно, но иногда разнообразия хочется чего-то другого, а нечего :)

RoniN, продают индийский ром, он недорогой и ценители говорят, что хороший. То есть знакомые, которые пили его в Индии, говорят, что у нас продают точно такой же и стоит он недорого.

Jack Daniel's это особый сорт виски,так называемый Теннесийский виски.Особый метод производства и фильтрации с помощью сахарного клёна (фильтра).
Кошмарно навязчивый приторный вкус,по сравнению с Настоящими брендами. Но...........девочкам нравиться ;-)

rassol, допустимо использовать «виски» как в мужском, так и в среднем роде. Большой толковый словарь русского языка допускает только средний род.

Ну и, собственно, если виски в США ни о чём, то только средний род и годится для его определения. :)
